an aside but one time I was told by someone who shall remain nameless that I needed to stop treating my plants with such love because plants were inherently evil and spiteful and I'd be much happier once I accepted that and in that moment the sims negative interaction symbol appeared crystal clear in my mind
Ok so 40k has more canon than anyone can possibly hope to consume all of. BUT we all wind up with our favorite bits, and the ones that say something super crucial about our blorbos, some bit of canon we cling to and that makes a huge difference to us in how we think about them. What one or two stories do that for you with your fave? I'll start:
Aurelian by Aaron Dembski-Bowden: THE crucial character study for Lorgar, more than his primarch novel or even First Heretic. Looks at his feelings in the wake of his conversion, his convictions, what he actually wants for the galaxy, and captures the key transition point right after Isstvan V where he's really internalized how brutal this conflict will have to be. ALSO one of his best 1v1 fights.
"Revelation of the Word" by David Annandale (possibly only audiobook): The canon moment when Lorgar, during the Shadow Crusade, finds out about the developing Imperial Cult—and it's not the meme take of "he got what he wanted" at all.
Now you: what are the key things you would put in someone's hands if you wanted them to understand why you love your fave?
New oc heavily inspired by the song Big Iron, except Texas Red is Insane and Paranoid (is Death after him or does he just need a nap ?)
(he may also want to kiss the Ranger at some point but shhh)
i'm still not sure about the entire backstory, but i know he never takes off the bandana, and his goal in life is to steal as much gold as he can to buy the fastest horse possible (for paranoid reasons)
on top of having to deal with the dozens of bounty hunters and average joes looking to get rich quick, he is convinced he is followed by a woman in black who is either a widow out for revenge, or, and bear with him, *DEATH HERSELF*
and that's why he needs the shadowfax of the west. The man is running (galloping) away from his problems
little does he know that a new ranger is after him… 😈 and this one isn't gonna be so easily killed
I have no idea how Texas Red and the Arizona Ranger are gonna
1) meet
2) get along
3) not kill each other ????
sometimes star wars is unsubtle in a bad way and sometimes luke skywalker is dragging his father’s dead weight across the death star floor, sobbing from love and exhaustion
Sometimes people say they want more Zelda games without Ganondorf but see what *I* want is a game where like half the incidental characters you meet are obviously just Ganondorf in disguise spying on you.
