I hate it for Remus who is genuinely haunted by the home Hogwarts once was but it’s a lot harder to hate Dumbledore in this universe. Which is a compliment!! Making me empathize with Dumbledore is no easy task to say the least.

Also I feel like the trauma (and subsequent guilt and rage) is actually rather reminiscent of Regulus. James as well, to an extent, but that fear of being useless and desire to do something to change the course of the war is so deliciously reminiscent of my favorite boy. Though I imagine he’ll be far less forgiving to Sirius than Regulus has been. After all, Halloween very clearly changed Remus just like it did James. It’s so lovely and fascinating the ways you’ve hardened the traditionally “good” and “moral” like James and Remus but softened the traditionally darker ones like Regulus. Regulus isn’t weak by any means but I feel like he’s definitely a bit more desperate for a soft place to land. James and Remus are antsy for a fight; for SOMETHING to release that rage and grief on. I absolutely love it.

yes yes remus just...he breaks my heart. he's such an important character to this story even beyond his relationship with sirius and i just genuinely am having so much fun writing from his perspective

i honestly have no idea how the mind-bond came about but i absolutely love pushing them together in a room, particularly with their current dynamics and everything they've gone through. i'm consistently impressed when people read ecliptic and like what i've done with the characterizations, because i genuinely didn't know whether it would come across as well as it did in my head. so, so glad it seems to <3

i should say that if you like dumbledore...i tend to view him as someone who's got a chess board in his mind and is planning things to the minute detail. and right now, he's sacrificed a few pawns, but is probably willing to sacrifice a whole lot more than what we've already seen if it means he gets to win in the way he thinks is "right"

remus is definitely a bit of a mix when it comes to how he's changed! he's got a desire to prove himself like regulus for sure, and i tend to view them as similar characters in a lot of ways. his and james' trauma is just so interconnected
