hello!!! i meant to say in my reblog of your art how much i love how you depicted the different scenes and how you really made the moments of humor pop (i thought the cane thing was funny too lmao. glad someone agrees. imagining harry wave it around had me loling as i was writing it. and poor kim on the kids' cot omg). not to mention how much i love the juxtaposition of alice's and jean's conversations with kim. asjdjfjdjjdg also i have watched so many of your tik toks so you're basically a celebrity to me!!! seeing that you made art of my fic was a shock (in the best way!). over the moon to have someone say that my fic is their favorite tbh. :) <3
OMG HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII I'm so glad you love what I drew, if anything I should be thanking YOU for writing that fic and giving me so much life. I'm already a big fan of any fic in Kim's POV and ones that include Alice but you knocked it outta the park. Like you literally had me going OUUUGHHOOUUGHOUUGH at my phone screen. Every chapter had me gooped and gagged and guffawed and then some. THREE CHEERS FOR HOMOEROTIC WOUND CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the last chapter especially made me crazy happy it was such a wonderful (and quite satisfying 😏) ending!!
also AAAAHHHH I'm glad you get a kick outta my silly lil tiktoks too 🙈 knowing that the author of my favorite fic likes MY stuff too got me all giddy ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Mumbattan Ch.5
Barista! Pavitr x Artist! Miles
Miles came into the cafe for some chai tea, to see his friend Gwen on her shift and make some art while relaxing in the cafe. Instead he got some Barista who looked very annoyed when he tried to order and then became very passionate about ranting to him about how people say chai tea instead of just saying chai. Miles didn't mind him lecturing him on it though.
At least it was from someone so cute.

The customer who he learned was named Miles from Gwen, did not show up the very next day again much to Pavitrs disappointment. After the talk with his Maya Auntie, he wanted to make sure he apologized properly, but it had been about two weeks since he last saw him. He thought back to their last interaction and didn't remember anything he did or say to warrant him not come back again. Hopefully he did not cause another misunderstanding and he was just overthinking it as usual.
The cafe was less busy at the moment, as it was the middle of the day most people were either working or in school at the moment. So he took advantage of this moment to just stare into space. Honestly it was not his fault, he was cleaning but he was just so bored. He hated slow days. Maybe he could call one of his friends to keep him company, while he did enjoy Ben's company at a certain point he needed a break from the man and his dramatic flair and Gwen wouldn't come until much later. Gayatri was here earlier but she left as soon as her shift was done. ‘Hmph Traitor’
While lost in his train of thought he didn’t hear his name being called.
“PAVITR!”
He jumped and froze a bit outta shock, he turned to see who called his name with such urgency. Turns out that person was Gwen. She looked frustrated with him at the moment.
“Oh! Hi Gwen!” He beams a smile at her, but she gives him a frustrated sigh in response.
“Pav, are you okay? I have been trying to get your attention for a bit.” She gave him a bit of a concerned look. He just shook his head in disagreement.
“No, I'm okay. I am just so bored. Are you clocking in now? I thought you worked later.” Maybe he got the times wrong.
“Hm no. I am not working yet, Ben is covering my shift for a bit longer, said he needed the cash. I will work later though.I start when the rush starts later at around 3. You’ll be working with Ben til then?”
He groans. More Ben.
“Don't worry I heard that Lyla is taking over more shifts when she comes back.”
“Lyla is coming back?! I thought she quit because of school?” He said in disbelief.
Gwen chuckles. “Yeah, but remember she was going to come back when her mister as TA was over. Mr. O’hara is a hard ass.”
Lyla used to work at the cafe when she was 16 until her 2nd year in college when she became a TA for her class. Apparently Mr. O'hara, who he has heard so much about, is very strict and hard to please. It takes an extreme amount of effort to pass his classes. Before her no one wanted to deal with him, many of his former TA’s would quit within a week so it was surprising that she was his TA for a whole year. She actually recommended that they hire Gwen.
“I am excited to see her again. I missed her so much!” Pavitr really meant it, they barely saw her when she was TA but when they did it was always a joy.
“Yeah, it’s gonna be great to work with her.” Gwen then looks around the cafe. “Hey Pav, since it's slow, why don't you take a break and hang out with us.”
“Us?”
“Yeah, me and Miles.” She points in the direction of where Miles was sitting. It seemed that he was lost in whatever he was writing, or was it drawing. He couldn't really tell.
“Oh, um, I wouldn’t want to intrude! Besides, I am still working, never know when it needs to be all hands on deck.”
“Fine. But can you make me my usual and Miles some Chai. I swear he is addicted to it. What did you put in it to make him crave it all the time? Drugs?” She jokes.
“Of course not! I am just that good.” He smiles. “Anything you want to eat with it?”
“You know what, can I get some strawberry cheesecake and for miles, get him two croissants buttered and toasted. I’ll pay for it now.” He nods.
“I’ll bring it over to you guys when the order is done then.” Gwen hands him cash, and tells him thanks before walking back to where her friend was. As she seats down he goes to the coffee bar and gets started on the order. At least now he had something to do that wasn't just recleaning everything to look busy. As he started to focus on making the order, a certain someone was using him as a reference for his art studies.
Miles was mesmerized by the way Pavitr moved while making their orders. The sun seemed to always hit him with the right lighting. His hair was so majestic, so dark and lucious, and his eyes were so bright and beautiful it pulled you in. He wanted to capture it in his art. Even though they were quick sketches, he was pretty satisfied with where the art direction was going. He was so focused he didn't notice Gwen calling him.
“MILES!”
He jumped a bit and looked up to see Gwen just staring at him.
“Oh! Hi Gwen, "he smiles. She gives him a sigh.
“What is up with you and Pav today?” She sits down next to him. “So what's got you all hyper focused?” She leans to look at what he is drawing in his sketchbook. A bad habit that he just accepted over the years that she will forever be nosy and can never control her curiosity.  She looks at his sketches and then at him with a raised eyebrow. “Pav?”
He looks away from her for a bit and rubs the back of his neck. “Yeah. He’s just so mesmerizing, I had to draw him. You don't think he would mind right?”
Gwen chuckles. “I don't think he will mind once he sees the work when you’re finished with it. Are you sure it's only cause he is mesmerizing?” Miles, knowing what she was implying, shakes his head.
“It ain't like that. I just thought he would be nice to draw ya know.” He turns back to continue drawing Pavitr.
“Yeah right. Just like how you drew me before in high school cause I was nice to draw.” She teases.
“That was different. I just met him, plus I didnt even introduce myself. He doesn't even know my name.”
“He does. I’ve talked about you to him before.” She mentions nonchalantly.
“That doesn't count, I have not introduced myself as anything other than the customer you corrected the other day.” He looks at Pavitr making the drinks to see what new position he was in to quickly sketch. “Anyway. When does your shift start?”
“In about an hour and a half. So I get to bug you more!” She lightly punches his shoulders. He just rolls his eyes and smiles. Gwen is one of his best friends, every just flows so naturally when they are together. They just vibe. He sometimes sees her as an annoying sibling that likes to bother him from time to time. His father could attest to that, calling her an emo leech who liked to come over and eat. Even though he wouldn't say it out loud he was very fond of her, like a reluctant uncle who has an honorary niece he had no say in.
About 15 minutes later, he started to try and add more details to the quick sketches he made of the barista while Gwen was talking to him about how her band were prepping to do more shows and the difficulty to get everyone's times synced up.
“Yeah, our lead guitarist is also very inconsistent even though he usually has the most time out of all of us. Though I will say, I do enjoy being a part of this band more than the last one.”
“That's great you finally found one that suits you. I know you’ve been looking for one ever since I met you.”
“Yeah, now if only we can sync up so I can play more. Margo said she could help us with our scheduling problem. I believe in her, if anyone can help us organize our messy style it's her.”
Margo was a computer science major, and was practically a tech wiz. She was also extremely detail oriented and particular with her things. It was really funny because Ganke was the opposite of her while also being a tech wiz. They would always group up together even though they clash with how they do things. If you ask them why they always partner up they’ll tell you that it's convenient because they have so many classes in common.
“Thank Pav!” He hears Gwen say, taking him out of his train of thoughts. He looks up from his sketchbook to see Pavitr places their order in front of them giving them a smile that rivals the sun.
“No problem! I hope you guys enjoy!”
“We will!” Gwen grabs her drink and takes a sip. “Pav, I don't think I have properly introduced you to my friend. Pav this is Miles, he’s been my best friend since sophomore year in high school. Miles this Pav the chai activist.” She teases.
Pavitr hesitates to respond but Miles does not.
“Hey man, it's nice to finally properly be introduced to you. I realized I never gave you my name before, sorry ‘bout that.”  He gives him a small smile.
“That's no problem! I know our first meeting wasn’t the best, sorry about that.” Pavitr rubs his neck a bit nervously.
Miles gives him a small chuckle. “Its no problem man. Like I said before I didn't mind being corrected. At least I won't be sayin ‘Tea Tea’ anymore. Feel free to tell me any other things I may be sayin wrong.”
“Well people like to say ‘naan bread’ which is the same as saying ‘bread bread’.” Miles groans in response.
“Youre kiddin! I've been saying ‘bread bread’ this entire time?!”
Pavitr laughs and relaxes, he finally apologizes and it seems he really was worried for no reason. Miles was very respectful and liked to lighten the mood. He can see why Gwen liked to hang out with him a lot.
“Well now you know.” He teases. He sees Miles take a sip of the chai he had just made.
“Man, this really hits the spot. You know your stuff.”
Pavitr’s skin turns a bit redder at the compliment. “Thanks.”
Just then a group of teenagers walked into the cafe which caused Pavitr to sigh. He was just getting to know Miles but he guesses the conversation would be cut short for another time.
“Looks like duty calls for me. I guess we have to cut this conversation short.” He pouted a bit.
“Don’t worry Pav, we can always talk later when I work on shift. Plus Miles will be coming here more often. He said he likes the cafe vibes. I think he is really here cause I’m so awesome he can't handle not havin our vibe sessions as much.” She jokes.
“Yeah right. I’m glad I don't have to see your face as often. Plus who said I am coming for you, if anything it's Pavitr’s Chai that’s bringing me in here.” Miles jokes back to switch Gwen just rolls her eyes.
“Sure buddy, whatever you say. I know you love me.”
Pavitr chuckles as he walks away. “Well I’ll talk to you guys later! Enjoy your stay Miles!”
“Hey! What about me?” Gwen shouts a bit to him.
“You're gonna be working later!” He responds before arriving at the coffee bar.
Gwen groans. “He’s right. I do love working here even if not all the customers are great.”
“At least you have me here to keep you company. You can’t get rid of me easily.” Miles gives her a pat on the shoulder.
“Yeah you're right. Are you gonna stay the whole time? You know I can go home by myself.” Miles just shakes his head.
“My parents would kill me if I don't walk you back late. I know you can handle yourself but you're like my sister I gotta make sure you get home safe.”
“Yeah, thanks Miles. I appreciate it.”
“It's no problem!” He goes back to continue his art trying to capture Pavitrs essence on paper. Gwen peeks again to see his process.
“You sure you're drawing Pavitr just for reference?” She teases.
“Oh shut up!”

𝖘𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖓𝖌𝖊𝖗 𝖙𝖍𝖆𝖓 𝖆𝖓𝖞 𝖘𝖕𝖊𝖑𝖑 [ 𝖒𝖔𝖗𝖕𝖍𝖊𝖚𝖘 𝖝 𝖋!𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖉𝖊𝖗 ]
[ Chapter Six: Slannen of Pim ]
pretty long chapter here
previous chapter > next chapter
[Y/n] looked down at the magic mirror map in her hands, "Still can't believe I'm listening to the directions of a cat." She says and starts talking to herself as she walked through the forest of pim.
"I wonder what this King of Dreams looks like?" She wonders then looks up seeing a raven flying above her. "Never seen a raven in these parts." She says, looking up as the bird flies above her.
Then she hears rustling causing her to jump, "What was that?" She says looking toward the source of the sound. "Somebody help me!" a voice shouted followed by the voice of someone else laughing. (man laughs)
"Wait a minute." [y/n] says finding the source of the screams, "Sing soprano, little man!" a man shouts [y/n] and runs faster towards the cries for help.
a man holding a slingshot with a knife throws it at the elf on the spinning device, "Missed!" he says in announcement. [Y/n] walks up to them in shock, "What do you think you're doing to that poor elf?" she looks at them and they turned to look at her, "Oh. Who's this who thinks she's so tough?" the man says looking at her.
"Look, l think it's only fair to warn you that l'm practiced in the ancient art... of origami." She says, and the other guy looks at her, "Paper folding?" He says confused.
"l was hoping you wouldn't know what that was." [y/n] mumbles under her breath, "Don't let him scare you, sweetheart! Kick his butt!" the elf shouted, causing her to kick the man in the butt.
"Don't let her do that." the other one shouted.
"Now rabbit punch." the elf shouted, causing her to punch the man in the face. "Combo. Kneel. Front-step kick. Dragon-roundhouse kick." the elf shouts causing her to fight the bandits.
"This chick is nuts!" they shout. "Let's get outta here." they run off/ [y/n] runs over to the elf on the wheel, "l think l'm gonna puke." the elf groans, "Let me help you with that." She says, using the knife to cut him down.
"l am gonna need so much therapy after this." He says, looking at her as she cuts him down. He falls face forward on his face, "Are you OK?" She asks looking down at him, "No, l am not OK!" He asks sitting up, "l think l broke something, or dislocated it, or..." he says as he places his hand on his nose followed by a loud crunch.
"No, just a crick. Slannen of Pim." He says standing up and holding out his hand, "Y/n of Frell. Nice to meet you." She says looking at him, "Well, if you're OK, then l have to be going, but good luck." She says walking off and he follows after her, "You're going? You can't walk in this wood on your own. How about a bite to eat?" He asks looking at her, "That's very sweet, but l'm on a tight schedule." She says to him smiling.
"Fine. Message received, Miss ''l Think l'm All That'' He says to her and she sighs, "That's not what l meant at all." [Y/n] says, looking at him, and the two start bickering.
"l extend the hand of friendship..." He says. the two started to talk over each other, "I am on a tight schedule." She says to him, "Were l not..." He says, "Everybody's busy..." He shouts.
"l would love to have dinner with you." She says finally, "Great! l've got a coupon." He says, and they make their way toward the elves.
They hide behind some foliage to avoid the sight of the eleves, "Slannen." She whispers looking at him, "lf this is where you live, why are we sneaking around?" She asks.
"lf they spot you, you'll be sorry. You know how all elves are forced to sing and dance?" He says to her, "Yeah. So?" She asks, then an elf notices them from the rafters, "Visitors!" The elf shouts.
'Places, everyone.'
'One, two, three, four!'
"Run for it!" Slannen shouts, and [y/n] follows suit as the elves begin singing.
'Let us entertain you, let us make you smile'
'Let us give you a few tricks, some old and then some new tricks'
The two start running around trying to get to the restaurant.
'We're very versatile'
'And if you're real good we'll make you feel good'
'We want your spirits high'
"Where are we going?" She asks, as they run around. "l said get lost!" He shouted, at the other elves. As the ran towards the restaurant.
'We'll have a real good time'
"Leave us alone!" He shouted. Slannes and [Y/n] sat down at a table, "Peace and quiet at last." He says and [y/n] smiles. Until elves walk over towards the table and start singing.
'Jeremiah was a bullfrog'
'He was a good friend of mine'
"Hit the road." Slanned shouted at them and they took that as an introduction to start singing again,
'Hit the road, Jack, and don't you...'
"Get outta here!" Slannen shouted at them. "Yes. Why don't you like music?" She asks looking at Slannen, "That's right. Because elves are supposed to be so happy and joyful all the time." He says looking at her, "Singing and dancing for the man." He says looking at her.
"l don't wanna be an entertainer." He says to her, "l wanna be a..." He stops deciding not wanting to say anything, "What?" She asks curiously, "Nothing." He says looking away. "What were you gonna say?" She asks once again.
" lt's silly." He says.
"Please tell me." She asks looking at him and Slannen sighs, "l wanna be a lawyer." He says and she looks at him. "Why can't you be a lawyer?" She asks looking at him, "Hello?" He says pointing at his ears, "Elf." He says.
"l forgot. The elfin restrictions Sir Edgar passed." She says.
"No elf shall be engaged in any occupation other than singing, juggling, and or tomfoolery."
"They're never gonna let me go to law school." He says sadly and she looks at him, "l'm never gonna get my day in court, never gonna stand in front of the judge and say" He says to her,
''You're out of order! Permission to approach the bench?'' He says. ''l object!'' No, l object." He shouts enthusiastically. "The thought of it is making me go crazy."
'Crazy'
'l'm crazy for feeling so lonely'
Hattie and Olive were going through [Y/n]'s things. Mandy walks into the room holding a letter, "What are you doing with Y/n's things?" Mandy asks looking at them, "Just a little tidying up." Dame Olga says then notices the letter.
"What's that?" Dame Olga asks, holding out her hand. "What? Nothing. lt's personal." Mandy says hiding it behind her back. Dame Olga then reaches behind her back and takes it.
"A letter for Y/n?" Dame Olga says, looking at it curiously. "The prince's coronation ball. He's invited that insolent little snip?" She says in disgust. She then turns towards her daughters, "Girls, go and dust off your ball gowns and pack your bags." She says, looking at them.
"l think l may have found you another chance at your future husband." She says showing them the invitation letter, Hattie looks at it in awe. Mandy knowingly covers her ears and walks out of the room. As Hattie starts hyperventilating, "Yes!" Hattie screams in excitement then faints.
"So this can really show me anything anywhere in the kingdom?" Slannen asks looking down at the magic mirror map, "Somewhat, it only seems to be showing me though where I need to go." She says, looking at him.
Slannen then looks up and notices that soldiers were, "Come on." He says, "What?" She exclaims as they hide behind a barrel. She notices the soldiers gather up the elves, "What's going on?" She asks.
"Edgar's soldiers rounding up elfin singers to perform at the coronation." He says and [y/n] watches sadly, "Get in. And you." The soldiers say to the elves.
"Slannen, you've gotta go to Lamia and petition the prince." She says looking at him, "For what?" He asks, looking at her, "To go to law school. You gotta stop this." She says, as the carriage is pulled away.
'The sun will shine'
"You want me to go to Lamia on my own?" He asks looking at her, "Well, where I'm going it seems to be on the way." She says looking at him. "The prince will never grant an audience with an elf. They think we're a joke." He says to her.
"l have met Prince Charmont, and l think he might be different than his uncle." She says, to him and he looks at her raising an eyebrow, "Why? Cos he's a hunk?" He says and [y/n] scoffs, "No." She says seriously.
"What is he, about six foot?" He asks, "About." She says agreeingly, "Yeah, l hate the guy already. l'm not wasting my time." He says as he leaves the hiding spot.
Taking a moment, "Count me in." He says, looking at her and handing her the magic mirror map. A smile grew across her lips.

Give Me A Chance
D.Danny x G-N! Reader [Oneshot]
Relationship: Pining - Romantic
Warnings: Slight Cursing, A Suggestive Joke, Fluff.
Tumblr media
"Here ya' go, Big Mama!" Heaving five large worn-sacks of what you expected to contain Yokai goods, the three partners-in-crime grinned triumphantly. "Managed to loot them flashy broads from a few blocks down, slipped in and out no problem."
Big Mama's features gleamed in awe as she watched the rugged men stroll through her lobby, nearing towards her with her prize. "Oh, splendid! Well, I'm sure you are well aware of sorting your share."
From your positioning nearby Big Mama's grand table, you inspected them as they lugged three of the five bags of plunder onto a convenient marble surface.
Mickey bobbed his head in affirmation. "Sixty per cent on your end, Boss. Just like we promised ya'!"
"Formidable work, boys. I once again thank you for your service." The woman's gaze wandered, examining the stash as she wavered her hand over it all. "Now, I'll just have my assistant here take care of this while you fellas make yourself acquainted."
The mention of your given role had peaked your attention, giving the Mud Dogs a once over before making your way to the table. Big Mama placed a delicate hand on your shoulder, her mouth nearing towards your ear whispering: "Keep a close eye on them for me. Don't want their grubby fingers finding themselves somewhere they shouldn't."
Your eyes trailed up to Loathsome stretching out on a nearby settee with Malicious gawking at the fine art that scattered across the lobby's walls. While Dastardly - the only Mud Dog that had "conversed" with you on multiple occasions - perched his elbows on the tabletop's edge with body facing towards you, awaiting your arrival.
Your over-watch would basically be unnecessary when you already have the rat's eyes watching your every move. Not that you minded his attention (to an extent), you just had no idea what enjoyment he was getting out of it.
"Will do, Chief."
With that, Big Mama made her way out of the area with a rhythmic sway of her hips. While in turn, you stalked over to the pile of moolah you were set to examine, having to position yourself beside the dapper rat; who seemed all too eager to stay close.
"So uh," Dastardly adjusted his footing, tilting his head to get a better look at you. "How's work been holding up for ya' recently?"
You halted your inspection to take a subtle glance around, Danny taking note of it on the spot. "The coast is clear, doll, don't worry 'bout it."
He nodded reassuringly with his brow quirked before you dragged out a long inflated sigh. You flipped your back to the table, the small of your back resting on the table's edge as you mirrored the rat's laid-back stance.
"It freaking blows. Literally the most boring job known to pretty much anyone." You combed your fingers through the roots of your hair, giving your scalp a small rub in the process. "It's shocking how exhausting it is to do absolutely nothing, seriously. I'd rather be on my feet actually doing something, you know, like you guys. Being an errand boy or whatever."
"Errand boys?" An offended scoff was sent to you in return, the sound already making the corners of your lips turn up. "I'll have you know it takes a lotta skill and precision ta' do what we do half the time."
"Yeah and the other half you just spend it aimlessly goofing around."
"Meh, whatcha gonna do?"
You chuckled before lazily hoisting yourself up onto the counter, careful not to get an ass full of coins by avoiding the bags of loot. "Hey, I wasn't exactly saying it was a bad thing. It's gotta be fun at least."
With your body slumped, you held your position with your palms pressed to the marble surface. Peeking out from your downcast gaze, you caught a glimpse of Dastardly inching himself closer to your side. The left side of his hip rested on the slab as he dug his hands deep into his pockets, eyeing your form intently.
"Y'know... We could have some fun, just you and me."
Your head struck up in an instant. "Woah there, Casanova. Try to keep it in your pants, you're supposed to be a professional."
"Whaddya m-" His brows drew together in confusing before his cheeks tinted as the realisation dawned on him. "Oh! Oh, shi- no! Jeez, toots, I just meant 'fun' as in taking you outta' dinner or catch a show or somethin'."
A brazen grin made its way to his lips, his nostrils slightly flaring. "Unless that other offer is on the table then-"
"-It isn't."
"Well," Faltering only for a moment, his thin lips stretched back into a small smile but it didn't quite reach his dark eyes, "how about that date then?"
You just... Didn't understand.
"What makes you so interested in going out with me?" Your brow raised in question, tapping your index finger anxiously on the cold marble. "We've barely even talked."
Bashful, Dastardly brought a clammy hand up to rub the back of his neck, giving his tendons a slight message. "Heh, that’s kinda the reason why, toots. I can't figure you out."
The man let out a sigh before slumping back onto the edge of the table, crossing one ankle over the other as he shifted his weight.
"Usually, I can look at someone and read em on the spot, but you don't put too much of yourself out there. Every time I'm here you give me feelings I ain't totally sure on how to handle, but I sorta like it. I always wanna hang out with you and do stupid shit without the boys taggin' along, it doesn't even matter what we do!"
You winced as he got excitable the more he went on. "Danny..."
"Just hear me out, please." He set his hands out in front of him to figuratively set you on pause. "I wanna get to know ya, and a part of me thinks you wanna get to know me too. So, if you're willin', lemme take you out so we can get to know each other. Outside of all this."
Of course you wanted to get to know him. He was this mysterious guy in a striped suit that would waltz in and out of your workplace every week and actually take the time to notice you around. You couldn't help the curiosity that welled deep in your belly every time you caught him eyeing you from across the room.
You just couldn't wrap your head around the fact that he actually wanted to know who you were. Not just one of Big Mama's collaborators. Not just the associate that idled around wherever your boss lurked. Just you. You couldn't help but be fond of the man for wanting to do so.
Though you were still cautious of his intentions...
Huffing lightly, you replied. "So there are these guys that have been pestering Big Mama, right? They've been digging at her to pay up whatever expenditure she owed them, and obviously, she did. Holding up her end of the bargain as always."
"And this has somethin' to do with the date thing because...?"
"Lemme finish. But as you also know, that woman isn't one for letting someone give her such a hard time without 'semi-retaliating'..."
"I'm reckoning that's where the boys and I come in." The rat roughly adjusted the collar of his shirt, loosening the top button. "So doing this job is the only way I'm going to have a chance with you, huh?"
You couldn't help the nip of guilt that caught you. "See it as more of a test, Romeo."
Hopping off of the counter with ease, you manoeuvred yourself in front of the man, setting your hands on his lapels. You fixed his blazer with a slight pull while straightening it out in the process.
"Do this particularly important job, then I'll consider..." Your eyes reached up to meet Danny's, observing his pink-tinted features for a brief moment. "The date thing. Deal?"
Despite feeling grateful for the offer, he sounded slightly defeated. "Consider?"
Tugging gently on his lapels, you brought your mouth up to his ear, keeping your voice hushed. "It's a definite yes if you get your ass back here quick enough."
His ear flicked back as his dumbstruck eyes stared at you in what seemed to be a mixture of disbelief and excitement. Coughing out to compose himself, he turned away from your form to face the two Yokai that loitered across the room.
"Aye, boys! D'ya hear that? We got a job to do, move yer hides!" Danny ushered them to the exit with a vigorous waft of his arms, ignoring any annoyed protests.
Before leaving the building himself, the suited man pivoted on one heel to bid you a due, with a smug tip of his hat. "See you soon, sunshine."
In return, you gave a simple short wave of your hand goodbye. Though you couldn't help but reflect the flashy grin that he held onto your own features.
The realisation only just settling in, you sprung up to halt him from leaving the lobby. "Wait, Danny! I haven't even told you the job yet!"

"Okay!" A hearty laugh escaped your lips as you watched him leave for the second time, leaving you desolate.
