It looks like her horns are much bugger and more devil like than tiefling naturally. Would her horns grow back to that shape if sue let them, or is it more like docking a tail and permanent? Would she become more comfortable with her original horns being around tieflings more if they could grow back? Why did she trim them initially?

Ehehe I'm glad you caught that, cause yeah you're right her horns are very much meant to be more devil than tiefling!

I figured if a devil is going to screw someone over by giving them a stolen child, why wouldn't they aim to pick one who would bring as much chaos and misery to that person as possible? Ember has no idea who her bio parents are, but she's definitely no ordinary Tiefling.

I put the rest under a read more because it got a bit long:

To try and kind of match the other companions, I wanted her to have the capacity to be incredibly powerful, but limited for game/story reasons. So for Ember, at least one of her parents is someone Powerful and Important in the hells, and that parent is where her sorcery comes from.

It means she's capable of crazy strong magic (like, on par with Gale before he got nerfed strong) but a combination of being self-taught and a lack of motivation means that she's never had a reason to find out what she's actually capable of. She also grew up very isolated, so until she met Gale she was under the impression that magic was just like that for everyone. And tied to all that, one of the most obvious tells that there's something else going on with her is her horns.

I like to think that for most Tieflings, their horns do grow throughout their lives, but hit what's considered 'full sized' by around puberty- at which point the growth slows to a crawl. I also have to assume based on Karlach's broken horn that if the horn breaks? It's gone for good, though they will still maintain that slow growth so long as the core at the base of the horn remains intact.

For Ember however, her horns are just enormous. At age 4 it's expected a Tiefling will have started growing their horns but that they'll still be blunt, nubby things like a baby goat. Ember's were the size they are in the age chart, and continued to grow even larger as she got older.

She likely would have trimmed them no matter what, because not being used to having horns in the first place made dealing with them frustrating, but they're really just unreasonably huge. She trims them down pretty much as far as she comfortably can, the blue tips being where the darker outer layers were cut away.

To her annoyance, they also grow back and do so remarkably fast, which is where the jewelry she has wrapped around them comes from. Those gold embellishments are actually enchanted so they'll stay the size she wants them! (They also keep them from catching on fire when her emotions are high, but that's a whole other thing) So she could actually let them grow back to their full size if she wanted to, she just doesn't because they'd be way too unwieldy and annoying to deal with.

And while I can see some of this stuff becoming relevant after the events of the game, for the duration of BG3's plot this is all just more or less flavour text. The magic stuff is the only part that would have a notable impact.

Also fun fact, this whole part of her backstory is just because I needed an excuse to make her immortal. I didn't have the strength to give Astarion a companion who he'd have to lose in less than 100 years. My heart can't take that 😭 So fuck it, she's the daughter of some big powerful demon or whatever so Astarion can have one nice thing that won't be taken from him!!!

What exactly is the chaos dragon slayer au and how can I start following the story? Where does this begin?

Ooff, okay. I'm not good at explaining stuff, but I'll try to make it understandable 🫡 here we go! I think it started from a fanfic writer from wattpad who wrote the story. (I don't remember who the original author/idea was, though)

Warning : There will be a lot of OOC and confusing content in this AU. It has too many variations

The very first version (the one I read for the first time) is "Tamer Of Chaos. (New Version)" by Primsgirl89 on wattpad. This story is discontinued sadly, but it is the gateway of this AU (probably).

These fanfics are mostly on wattpad, but you can also find it on AO3 and FanFiction.Net

I'll summarize some bits in the story you should know, depending on the multiple variations of this au I have read so far.

Natsu was raised by Acnologia instead of Igneel, therefore his magic is called "chaos" from Acnologia's title (Black Dragon of the Apocalypse). His personality is very much the opposite. Rude, vicious, doesn't give a **** about anything, etc. Happy is still his exceed but really just hangs out with him most of the time.

Lucy (oh boy) has like a lot of version of personalities based on what background she comes from. There's one where she is a fire dragon slayer raised by Igneel instead, or some kind of celestial dragon slayer, or a very timid person, or a hot-headed, or the overly optimistic, or even as her OG self, etc.

Gray, Erza and the whole FT Guild either is the same in the OG or openly hates Natsu, or be an acquaintance at least, or even frenemies, etc.

Markarov and Wendy (So far) is still the same in the OG but slightly different is all.

Some versions portrayed Lisanna as a *****, but not many. (tbh I don't like this part at all)

Most of this AU follows the OG story flow, with a twist of course and sometimes a different one entirely. There will be OC characters and villains included as well as rare friendly pairs. It's quite interesting tbh.

Natsu for some reason is okay with Lucy, either because she is not afraid of him or she treats him differently then others. (he has his own personal reasons as well, though I never understand most of it)

I don't know what else to explain. Sorry if the explanation is kind of messy. If you still have more questions, feel free to let me know. I don't mind answering them.

Was listening to What I'm Made Of from Sonic Heroes and that made me think about Super Tails. And despite my extreme penchant for talking about Chaos stuff, it's very rare that I talk about my thoughts on Super Tails! I think I've made a single in-character post about Tails talking about it way long in the infancy of this blog, so I thought it'd be a prime time to make a proper headcanon post about it.

First of all, it is extremely rare that Tails gets to go super. Like, it has only happened once canonically. He's gone super alongside Sonic and Knuckles during the fight against Metal Overlord where every team of three had to come together to put an end to Neo Metal Sonic's growing power. (yes tails and knuckles went into their proper super forms, miss me with that weak ass super bubble trash).

The infrequency of Tails' Super Form showing up isn't due to a lack of need, it's just really taxing on the kid. Due to his lack of sensitivity to Chaos Energy, it's quite a difficult thing to reach, and even harder to hold onto, leaving him feeling drained both physically and mentally after the fact. The only reason he transformed for this occasion was because it was absolutely required. Without all of Team Heroes (team sonic is a dumb and egotistical name and was canonically retconned in an idw sonic free comic book day story comic teehee) giving it their all, the fight surely would've been lost.

Though, with the transformation, Tails' best qualities get turned up to one hundred. His intelligence grows into that of a supercomputer, giving him the ability to virtually predict the actions of those he's in combat against. He's out here literally doing the Jojo "Your next line is..." meme. Through the most minute tells, he can foresee the motions of his opponents before they've even processed what they're about to do next, allowing him to dodge and counterattack long before the enemy has even begun their action. He's ultra instinct dodging. grabs your face. the twelve-year-old is ultra instinct dodging.

But speaking of attacking, what of his physical strength? A Super Form boosts the body, not just the mind. And, well... admittedly, his physical strength still leaves a lot to be desired. He's not going to be the person stopping a laser with his bare hands or swinging a sword a thousand times the size of himself. He is strengthened certainly, but it's his endurance that is heightened to its utmost limit.

Chaos is power… Power enriched by the heart. Talls' overwhelming need to see the bad situation to its final conclusion is what gives him a titan's endurance. He may not be dishing out the most damage, but this fox will not fall. You can send him crashing through mountains, batter him against a cliff face, or attack him with an unending barrage of violence. Do what you will, he will not sink. And while Super Forms naturally grant invincibility, Tails' form has the capability of lasting far longer due to this indomitable trait.

Imagine, if you will, the in-game ring counter. Once it reaches 1, it simply stays there, refusing to drop to zero. So long as his friends are up and fighting, he will be by their side doing everything in his power to assist them. Before, without this power, he was but a glass cannon. The chance to be the stark opposite is the opportunity his Super Form provides.

Finally, to make up for his less-than-amazing attack strength, the consistency of Tails often needing help to do his best work remains true, even in this state. As yes, the Super Flickies he has around him in Sonic 3 & Knuckles are also here to help! With his expansive mind, he gains the ability to speak any and all languages in this state. He uses this to call upon flying creatures and imbue them with the smallest bit of his own energy so that they can attack alongside him. He's still not going to be hitting as hard as Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, or... anyone who can transform... but something is better than nothing!

At the end of the transformation, Tails will find himself overwhelmingly tired and with a splitting migraine. The capability to hold so much more space in his mind disperses, but the thoughts themselves do not. At least, not immediately. He's often out of commission the very second the form ends, which is why it's so hard to knock him out of said form. Though sapping the Chaos Energy from him à la Eggman to Super Sonic at the beginning of Sonic Unleashed would still work...

Sonic Heroes

I said I'd get back to reviewing the crap I play. Nobody asked for it, but I'm not posting art here anymore so ho hum. I'm going to be upfront and say that Sonic Heroes is one of my favourite 3D/"modern" (rofl it's like 20 years old) Sonic games. I'm also going to be honest and say that I'd recommend it to absolutely nobody, ever. Kinda.

On the surface of it all, Sonic Heroes absolutely rocks my worn-out boot-wearer socks. Its art direction is borderline-garish pop-art surrealism in the vein of the earlier Megadrive titles, the music is all banger with no clanger, and the gameplay has entirely ditched the idea of 'earning' mobility tools in favour of a moveset you start the game with and play in its entirety.

Except it's got Other Shit™ thrown in with that. The 'heroes' part of it all, for one. Heroes. Plural. Oh hey, you don't control a character as much as a team of characters; all modelled after the Sonic/Tails/Knuckles archetype trio of speed/flight/power respectively for four teams. They're not all identical, except where they are, and all of them aim to provide different gameplay experiences to tailor all styles of player. Or they would in theory were all four teams not mandatory for Last Story. Bad move, Sonic Team.

The thing is, there's not enough variety or interest here to justify four team playthroughs. And, at that, it's horribly uneven; when played left-to-right as any halfway-sane person would reasonably expect to approach these separate stories (if you can call them that), you get Normal then Hard then Easy (with tutorial!) and then the weird challenge mode category. And at that, we've got special stages so all seven Chaos Emeralds are needed as well. In my not-at-all-useless opinion as a nobody game designer, players should've been able to pick and complete one of these and only require the Chaos Emeralds for Last Story. But I guess that wouldn't have sated the early-mid 2000's desire for MORE CONTENT now, would it?

That's far from my only complaint about the game, though. It's largely a fun ride, until it isn't -- and when it isn't, it's generally because the game hasn't functioned as intended. Homing attacks pointed squarely at mid-chain (over a bottomless gap) enemies flatout missing, grind rail switching turning into a makeshift space program, combat yeeting player characters wildly off smaller-than-they-should-be arena spaces, there are a multitude of ways the game can suddenly stop working on you and when it does that, it's suddenly not fun anymore.

And, as evidenced by this potato-quality photo of my save file a few years ago, I've sunk like over 100 hours into this game (the above is what happens when 99: 59: 59 is exceeded, in this case by 5 minutes and 15 seconds). And that's because, when it's fun it really is fun. But half the time, it's absolutely wretched; either because it doesn't work, or the levels are heel-dragging affairs with copypasted geometry and occasional object layouts, or you're playing the secondary Team Chaotix missions. I love it to bits for its audiovisual flair, and the fun I can wring out of it between its wretchedness. For anyone else, personages with higher sanity levels than my oddball self, mileage may vary wildly. 3/5

An Alternate History of The Chaos Emeralds (Game Gear/Master System Canon)

I was writing something about the Chaos Emeralds, Rings and Chaos Rings of the early Sonic canon when I decided to talk about the Game Gear games and how they're technically a separate canon (and thus, examine the emeralds' portrayal there), but I feel it has gotten beyond the scope of the original discussion, so I'm putting it as a separate thing here.

Warning: Walls of Text

The Game Gear and Sega Master System Sonic games have always been in an odd spot continuitywise. They don’t get a lot of attention from fans and that’s still far more attention than Sega gives the games. It doesn’t help in regards to reconciling them with the genesis games; Based on the Japanese manuals, it seems like they were something of an alternate continuity (Kinda like how the early Dragon Ball Z movies didn’t fit into the main canon, but seemed to have nods to each other that suggested that they were an alternate continuity); South Island is the overall main setting, the manual for Triple Trouble suggests that Knuckles is a ‘stranger’ and makes no mention of the Master Emerald and the Chaos Emeralds are consistently portrayed as being 6 in nature.

As for the games themselves, The portrayal of the emeralds varies. Sonic 1 hides the Chaos Emeralds in stages. In terms of abilities, they are shown in the ending to remove the pollution from the Scrap Brain Zone. Otherwise, the manual is basically a cut-down version of the Genesis manual.

Sonic 2 is the emeralds at their most macguffin-est, as Eggman is holding Tails ransom and Sonic has to bring the emeralds to rescue him. The only particular thing of note is that Mecha/Silver Sonic holds the final emerald, but only if Sonic found the others: This would become a recurring trend throughout the rest of the Game Gear games.

Sonic & Tails/Sonic Chaos is where things begin to get interesting. The plot of the game (that isn’t reflected all that much in-story) is that Dr. Eggman stole one of the Chaos Emeralds. This causes an imbalance that scatters the emeralds and, as the Chaos Emeralds are responsible for holding South Island together*, it causes the island to begin sinking. The english manuals contain further details, such as EU manual mentioning that the Chaos Emeralds lie in the “North Cave”. Gameplaywise, the game only allows Sonic to enter the special stages, implied in Tails’ bio to be due to him being too inexperienced. Special Stages also take a different form from the console versions, being mazelike spaces that Sonic must navigate via platforming.

Sonic & Tails 2/Sonic Triple Trouble dials things back a bit. Here, Eggman having one of the emeralds is explained by him testing his final weapon (implied to be the Atomic Destroyer), when an accident scatters the emeralds. The emeralds are then fought after by four parties: Eggman, Sonic & Tails (who want to stop Eggman), Knuckles (who is duped by Eggman into thinking that Sonic wants the emeralds for evil) and Nack The Weas- er, Fang the Hunt- uh, Fang the Sniper (who may or may not be aware of the emeralds’ true power and simply wants to profit off of them). Gameplaywise, there are some significant differences; Tails is said to have grown stronger and can now enter the special stages, the special stages now require Sonic & Tails to find monitors with a Chaos Emerald on them while holding enough rings and the gameplay itself varies: Some stages send the duo to a palace like level, which they have to navigate ala the previous game. Others have them man the Tornado and collect rings in a flying minigame similar to console games. Either way, they end the stages with an encounter by Fang in the shrine, claiming the emerald after they've defeated him.

Tails’ Adventures' continuity varies depending on the region, with the western versions putting it at some point in the (then) present while the Japanese versions put it as taking place before Tails met Sonic. Either way, Tails’ Adventures takes place on Cocoa Island, which is under siege by the Battle Kukku army, who are tearing up the island in search of the Chaos Emeralds, much as Dr. Eggman would do to South Island in the future. Given its slower paced, metroidvania-esque gameplay, the emeralds are slightly different here than they are in the main Sonic games: Much like the previous Game Gear games, they can be found around the environment itself. Unlike the previous games, having the Chaos Emeralds gives Tails buffs to his flight and the amount of rings that he can hold. Interestingly, these buffs are passive and therefore don’t require Tails to have the emeralds equipped: Either he holds onto them the entire time or just having them in general is enough to empower Tails. The emeralds' presence here is never explained; Unlike the console games, this one of the few instances in the 8-bit canon of the emeralds not being on South Island.

G Sonic/Sonic Blast is the last Game Gear game, and while there are other games that used the emeralds, they didn’t do much particularly interesting with them. Here though, the plot is kicked off by Eggman attempting to shoot Sonic with a laser while he’s sleeping, only to shatter the Chaos Emerald that he had with him. This splits the emerald into five smaller emeralds that scatter around the island. Eggman builds his Death Egg-er-Silver Fortress with the intention of tracking down the fragments later while Sonic and Knuckles find the five jewels and seek to stop Eggman. The game itself doesn’t really resolve this plot aspect, as the final scene is of Sonic or Knuckles watching the Silver Fortress fall as they juggle the emeralds. Do the emeralds eventually fuse back together? Or does South Island now have 2 different sets of 5 emeralds?

The most interesting element out of all of this is that it doesn't go much into the past of the emeralds. The manuals for the main games past the first make much about how ancient civilizations in the past sought out the emeralds, how they promptly collapsed upon abusing their power, etc. It could just be the Game Gear/Master System storylines being simpler or the focus on South Island, but that doesn't seem to be the case in the 8-bit canon.

tumblr might be about to do horrible things to the quality of this, i'm not sure, but the preview does not fill me with confidence. ANYWAY

these were made for the Elysium intro so technically this is out of chronological order of. everything. but also before i start posting comics i want to give a good visual on who these guys are! also hey these are all the guys that were relevant to the askblog (besides Shadow), nice

(oh my god i just realized i didn't actually put Sik in Elysium. i mean he's in the bit in the second half where it's flashing through everybody but i didn't put him in the actual intro with everybody else.. sorry buddy, Double's the more important custom hero i guess lmao)

Sonic the Hedgehog: you know her, you love her, she's transgender now! 19-ish as of Forces, aroace, personality and vibe same as always, nothing gets her down. the big plot twist with her is that she's an artificial life form like Shadow and was engineered with an aptitude for chaos energy, but she does her best to shrug off the implications.

Miles "Tails" Prower: sonic's adopted little brother, 17-ish as of Forces, transgender (this will be a theme), low self-confidence despite his intelligence and his ability to hold his own. a LOT of things happen to him, uh- Colors, Chronicles, and Lost World kinda got slammed together into one story arc, so he got halfway roboticized AND blasted with negative color until he was able to break out of the brainwashing. he hasn't found a way to undo the roboticization yet.

Amy Rose: i love amy so much but i don't know how to accurately capture her vibe. 18-ish as of Forces, she had a crush on sonic but has eased off on it and now they are comfortably friends (even if she can still be a bit much at times), she does tarot, i think the most that got changed is her design tbh

Knuckles the Echidna: straightforward-thinking treasure hunter, dealing with responsibility of guarding the master emerald vs him finally having an opportunity to explore the outside world, 20-ish as of Forces, got tormented a bit in the askblog

Shadow the Hedgehog: nonbinary alien hedgehog clusterfuck my beloved. they/them, actually somewhat chill underneath all the edge, technically Sonic is a knockoff of them, still has a pretty shaky sense of identity, at one point jorb helped me figure out what ShTH story path would be most canon for them but i don't want to find it rn

Daedalus "Double" Perrow: first of many OCs! maned wolf, 17-ish (?) as of Forces, more on him later because a lot of the comics so far involve him lmao. fills in 1/2 of the custom hero role in Forces (did the prison break, teams up directly with modern sonic, has past history with Infinite) and gets nicknamed "Gadget" by sonic. trans of gender

Wayne "Infinite" Bay: whoops i took an oc and accidentally spliced him into being infinite. double's friend, 19-ish as of Forces, got kidnapped and experimented on by eggman. the askblog plotline was building up to double trying to find and save him because they were friends before wayne got corrupted by the phantom ruby, but my energy fizzled out before that could get anywhere

From what I've seen on your posts you don't really like the Sonic Movie verse (which is understandable, or I'm looking at the wrong account), but I wanted to know if any of the lore regarding chaos energy and stuff in them was put into any of your fanfics or thoughts? Like the owls and echidnas thing, or Sonic having the possibility of being consumed by the sheer amount of chaos energy? Sorry for rambling lol!

i did like the sonic movies as movies but not as sonic movies. the problem was i think the first movie started off on the wrong foot- it didn’t feel like a sonic movie at all, if you just replaced the names of a few things and people, it could have been it’s own movie. and because of that set up, it’s sort of made the rest of the movies a bit wonky

and to be honest….. Eh i don’t really like the lore they’ve been setting up, either

i dont like that they made sonic an alien. ive honestly never liked the whole two worlds theory anyway but i was always more fond of the idea that the sonic games take place on earth. especially now that they’ve made them SEPERATE worlds across space a lot of iconic places wouldn’t make sense to have back on earth. and while I love to see them explore mobius in the movies it wouldn’t particularly fit Sonic’s character (at least, what they established in the movies) to go back. he found his new home in earth. so like i can kinda understand why they did the two worlds thing again i just don’t like it

The babylons. okay. there’s two aspects to this i don’t like.

1) i don’t like Longclaw. i don’t like them giving a back story for sonic, no matter how vague it was in the movies. i honestly don’t like any establishment of a parental figure or whatever in his backstory. i don’t think she’s all that interesting either, but that depends on how they plan on framing her character after they revealed she killed a bunch of echidna and has been fighting over the master emerald for years

2) i don’t like the lore they’ve set up with the master emerald. IM SO MAD ABOUT THIS ONE BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO ME THAT BY SKIPPING TO SA2 THEYRE SKIPPING SA1. longclaw basically took the role of perfect chaos anyway- destroying the rest of the echidna clan and being a guardian of the master emerald. she took chaos’s role and i frankly don’t like that. do you know what i would GIVE to see perfect chaos on the big screen. also like EVERY BIT OF LORE FROM SA1. just basically gone wiped not at all acknowledged and that kinda pisses me off.

like i don’t like the complete rewrite of knuckles’s lore tbh. he’s an entirely different character, just like they did with sonic. i think it was interesting to have him be the guardian along with sonic and tails but i think that completely undermines the intentions of his character. solitary and duty bound and learning to loosen up. idk the guardianship was pivotal to knuckles’s character and i have conflicting feelings on what they’re doing with that. i just want an adaptation that’s like somewhat faithful to the source material come on….

actually i just can’t fucking believe they would skip sa1. i CANT fucking believe it. it does set up sa2 intentionally or not. i just don’t think you should have one story without the other. insane but WHATEVER.

as for the chaos emerald lore…. hm I have conflicting feelings. the concept of the emeralds merging together to form the master emerald was pretty cool, but i don’t really like it. the chaos emeralds were a staple before the master emerald…. i probably would have done it backwards and made them collect the emeralds to find out it could create the master emerald. or not use the idea at all lol. neat but not really interesting.

im curious to see where they go with it but as far as we’ve gotten, i wouldn’t be incorporating much of it into my own interpretation of lore

Welcome back to my look at the ArchieSonic comic series, and how it shared a lot of the same story tropes as a typical ‘80s or ‘90s syndicated cartoon! Well, here’s one that happened pretty frequently in the comics:

For this one we need to first of all decide who counts as a sidekick. I asked around a little and found most people seem to agree with me that the majority of the Freedom Fighters don’t really count as sidekicks, but Tails does. And while it’s certainly true that Tails has been developing and trying to be a much more independent character ever since Sonic Adventure, it’s also impossible to ignore the many years he’s spent as Sonic’s wingman, little bro, and player 2. We also need to clarify what qualifies as a kidnapping - it's a bit of a muddy subject trying to ditinguish between capture, kidnapping, and imprisonment, so I'm just going to include all of them. But as far as I can remember, the only character who actually got kidnapped and held for ransom was Sally.

Pfffft. Amateurs.

Okay, now that that’s out of the way, let’s have a look at the times Tails got kidnapped, captured, imprisoned, taken hostage, whatever you want to call it.

Tails’ first kidnappings in ArchieSonic (albeit being brief ones) were in Sonic #4’s story, “Tails’ Little Tail.”

As Sonic had exhausted himself in the book’s first story when he transformed into Super Sonic and fought the Universalamander, this story opened with him taking a nap and Tails deciding to take over hero duties in his absence. He went on a patrol to look out for trouble, completely failing to notice Robotnik and a group of badniks right in front of his nose. A pair of them spotted Tails and decided to use him for target practice, but Tails managed to save himself from them on this occasion.

Full of self confidence from his victory, Tails decided to go take on Robotnik himself but was immediately captured by swatbots.

Fortunately Sonic woke up and saved Tails before he could be roboticised.

Next came Sonic #14, which featured a story I’ve already talked about in a previous post. Tails became a super genius and tried to take out Robotnik by himself but was rescued once again by Sonic.

Following that came Sonic #25, the Sonic CD adaptation. In this story Amy Rose was kidnapped by Robotnik to lure Sonic into a trap, and Sally pointed out how obvious it was in its trap-liness. But Sonic wanted to go in anyway, so he sent Tails to get them some reconnaissance from the skies. Well, you can probably guess how well that went…

Then there was the SonicQuest mini series, which featured the debut of the Death Egg. I’ve mentioned this story before briefly, but not the specifics of how Tails ended up aboard the thing in the first place. After Sally ordered them to bring back a load of rings to try and heal her father with, Sonic and Tails journeyed to a grotto where Sonic had previously found rings and chaos emeralds, and used them to get into a big dumb fight against Knuckles.

…it was glorious. :D

But this time when Sonic and Tails came to the grotto, they found it had been covered up with a steel dome. Sonic told Tails to stay put and keep an eye on things while he went to contact a nearby Freedom Fighter group for information, but not long after he’d left Robotnik came calling.

Flying high above the grotto in his new Death Egg, he sent down a chute to suck all the rings up out of the grotto. However the swatbot manning the controls also sucked up some of the surrounding area, including Tails.

In this case Tails rescued himself, climbing into the remains of the same swatbot that had dragged him aboard (which Robotnik had destroyed and thrown in the garbage for its incompetence) and using the disguise to infiltrate Robotnik’s control room.

This disguise may have been a little too good though, because Sonic soon came along and tried to kill him. :P

Tails’ next kidnapping came once again at the hands of Metal Sonic in Sonic #86. I’ve already gone over this one in a previous post, so I won’t go into too much detail. Metal Sonic had used the power of a power gem (I’m still shaking my head at that name) to rebuild himself after being smashed apart by Knuckles, and had gained a personality in the process. Deciding to settle the score with Sonic before going after Knuckles, he kidnapped Tails and tied him up above an active volcano on the brink of erupting.

Sonic did manage to get to Tails before the eruption, but both of them got trapped when a quake broke the ground around them. Metal Sonic, having been shown the true power of friendship by them, sacrificed himself to save the two of them, remaining dormant for a long, long time, until he was rebuilt by Uncle Chuck and renamed Shard.

This next kidnapping was a weird one. After Knuckles tapped into his dormant chaos powers beyond his ability to control them, his great grandfather Athair called upon Tails for help in Sonic #95 - 97. Knuckles’ response to this was to punch Tails in the face and knock him out.

…well, I guess turning green didn’t change Knuckles that much. :P

Athair took Tails to his uncle, the magician Merlin Prower, and asked him to summon the Chosen One (aka Tails’ super form, Turbo Tails). That moment was when the bad guy made his move. As I discussed in an earlier post, Mammoth Mogul had previously been defeated when he was trapped inside the Master Emerald back in Sonic #56. He was accidentally freed from his imprisonment in Sonic #79 when Eggman shattered the Master Emerald as part of the Sonic Adventure adaptation.

Free but weakened by his ordeal, Mogul seized the opportunity as Merlin called forth the Chosen One to kidnap Tails and replace him with a doppleganger who was completely ignorant of the fact that he was not the real Tails.

The fake Tails went on to fight Chaos Knuckles and get his butt kicked, causing Merlin and Athair to realise his true nature.

They decided to let him go back to Knothole and continue to believe he was Tails while they tried to locate the true Tails. This was a plot point that seemed to be forgotten by the writers for awhile, as this fake Tails continued to be in stories thinking he was the real Tails for over a year! It was finally addressed 17 issues later in Sonic #114 when the fake Tails started having nightmares about an evil presence in a cave, and went to investigate with Sonic. When they got there they found that Mammoth Mogul had been keeping the true Tails, still in his super form, in a coma and using him as a living battery to recharge his own powers.

The fake Tails was completely stunned by the revelation that he was not real, but he joined Sonic in attacking Mogul, and the two of them combined was enough to break Mogul’s concentration, releasing the real Tails from his shield.

Mogul fled, and the fake Tails faded away into nothingness as the real Tails woke back up.

Maybe the writers thought that Tails had been through enough trauma after Mammoth Mogul used him as a living battery for months, because Tails didn’t get kidnapped again until #165, when Sleuth Dawg held him at gunpoint.

He and Scourge had been sent to get back Rouge the Bat and the warp ring that she had stolen from Dr. Finitevus, after she had sabotaged the missiles that he was planning to use in a terrorist attack. She’d fled to Knothole and asked for asylum, bringing Finitevus’ henchmen to their door.

While Sonic and Scourge fought, Fiona negotiated with Sleuth and he agreed to release Tails in exchange for the stolen warp ring.

Our final Tails kidnapping came after the reboot, in the “Eggman’s Dozen” arc in Sonic Universe #83. This kidnapping didn’t happen in real time though - it was a flashback to the classic era and in fact to one of the early Sonic video games!

Sonic 2 for the Master System and Game Gear’s story involved Dr Robotnik kidnapping Tails and demanding Sonic bring him the Chaos Emeralds as ransom. We got to see the tail end (pardon the pun) of that game in the comic, with Sonic confronting Dr Eggman in the Crystal Egg Zone’s Egg Storm Chamber. When Sonic beat the doctor’s machine and Eggman fled, he freed Tails to try and prevent Sonic from chasing after him. Something surprising happened after that, but I’ll be getting to that in a later blog post.

So those were all the times I can think of when Tails was a solo kidnapping victim in the ArchieSonic comics. Buuuuuuuuuuuut I guess I should also mention the times when Tails was captured along with other Freedom Fighters, otherwise I’m sure someone will call me out on missing them. xD That’ll be next time though, because good lord, this would be a long post otherwise! Stay tuned!

{Ok time to tell Haru's story if they were in the qsmp. Now when the Brazilian's shows up in a few chapters away, I'll talk about a certan cc and their character and explain what I'm gonna do about those arcs and all in Haru's pov.

But for now this is gonna be the beginning, if u want to know a bit about Haru please look at the previous post about them to know more but u all will eventually learn. (Also sorry for the bad writing, not a writer)}

Chapter 1: the invite

It was a beutiful day in the world of the Sweet Dreams Realm, where anything can happen, where life is more peaceful, where many people lives in harmony. At Ice Cream Island, there's a nice base nearby.

It was peaceful and sunny when a certain neko demon gets out of bed, kisses their girlfriends cheek before getting up. Checking on their little chao them and Kai adopted, Banana is awake and happily making chao noises as shes picked up and carried downstairs. The home is beutiful fake plants (cause Haru is not the most responsible despite loving plants)

As Haru gets ready to make breakfast, they noticed the cats are watching outside, "hm, that must the mail!" They spoke out. Haru went outside checked the mailbox and aha! There is mail. While they walk back inside it checks what there is. Of course catalogs, some simple letters and hmmm. There's a mysterious envalope. Haru has seen mysterious things, and it's defiently not from Ash, he hates writing as much as them and even then it looks different.

So they decided to wait till Kai wakes up while making breakfast (they need food before having to think more -w-)

After a while as things settles, Haru decideds to brave up and open the envalope. And it was only a golden train ticket. Strange, very strange... Like trains exists in this world, it knows what the train tickets looks like here but this is defiently not from this world.

Kai looks at it and even if confused but also curious and thinks that whoever sent it to Haru chose them for a reason and should check it out. Tho Haru isn't so sure as they don't like going on long trips that is far from home. So as everyone gets ready for the day, Haru decides to head to Owens house.

Owen has been Haru's best friend and sibling ever since they met as teens, he knows Haru just as much as Haru knows her. She may be able to help them out.

And so Haru went and went in because Owen and them don't need to knock they invite themselves in.

Haru is greeted by a two-tailed mimikyu hybrid in front of them.

Owen was surpised they visited that soon as Haru came over yesterday. They both decided to sit down and talk about the mysterious train ticket.

After Owen looked closely at it, he feels that it would be safe to go check it out. Haru has been in the sweet dreams realm for a while and as much anxiety they get on trips, Owen thinks it would be a nice experience, especially as whoever chose it was for a reason that may never happen again.

Owen even had a plan to be able to come along if Haru wanted. And after thinking it over decides that they should go.

Chapter 2: The Train and the Island?

After a few days of preparing and seeing everyone before heading in the realm portal. They arrived at this new train station, running to not miss the train.

Meanwhile, Owen who is now in his mimikyu form, is holding on Haru's shoulders, trying to not fall off as Haru and her arrives to the train. The Strange part is there's only two trains in this whole station, one's in front of them while the other is across from their train.

As nervous and worried Haru is, with Owen here on this trip, heads on.

The first thing they noticed is that they aren't alone, in fact, totem shark? Seemed to have gotten here at the same time as them, he seemed to be cathing his breath before heading over to a taller demon, of course after he waved to Haru and Owen.

Haru went over to the group and observed. It seems that it's not just hybrids but also humans? Back in their world. Unfortuently it's rare to see humans, especially see them peaceful with other hybrids and even other humans. But it's fascinating, especially as some of the people aren't just speaking english but spanish, unfortuently Haru doesn't know any spanish aside from certain words and counting 1-10.

But as they observe, a human named Dan is standing aside them and he seems to be as nervous as they are. He may be anxious when it comes to socializing as Haru is and it feels comforting to know they may not be alone in that feeling. It was isolated from society as a kid so their social skills aren't great. Even if they have friends and family now even a girlfriend. It's still not easy for them to socialize.

But suddenly they felt the ground shake, how is the trains still moving with the ground shacking!? Them along side others noticed a wall rising from the ground, blocking the view of the other train. That's very weird. Owen doesn't even know what's happening.

Once the train arrived as they all step out. They saw a timer on the train station tv screen, and they all run to this book explaining that they need to work together.

And u know what....they all panicked. Owen and another person tried to organize everyone but having a timer and being told they aren't gonna survive the best combination! Haru hopes that the other group is having a better time cause they aren't solving this sh*t

When the timer ended Haru and others expected doom but nothing happened? But they were told by this duck to power the island. Why are we doing work? Haru is very unsure on what's happening but still looks for the planks, and hey it found some, same with Owen and everyone headed to fix this water mill and take the wire to power the island on their side. Now time to wait for the others.

The first thing everyone noticed was the sun rising brightening up the island. And then the duck on the screen told them about this red button, and we were told NOT to press the button. And guess what.

The button of course was pressed. Owen protested to not press it but Haru and Jaiden ran to climb towards the button, Jaiden was at the button when suddenly they all heard a beep....and the wall exploded! Jaiden lost balance and fell face first. Owen went to check on her as Haru tries to carefully climb down.

The one message that was told is that they are now trapped on the island.....Well fudge...

Sonic Frontiers Pre-DLC-Three Whinefest

I couldn't really get much into Sonic Frontiers, and I thought the final boss and ending was a little lacklustre. Apparently the writers agreed with me, because they're releasing a new ending as free DLC tomorrow.

I actually had a lot of thoughts about Frontiers and this'll likely be the last time I can air them before The Final Horizon comes along and makes me eat humble pie with how good it is. But I don't want to rip on it too hard because I know a lot of effort goes into making games like this.

I think Sonic Frontiers works best for me when I look at it like a tech demo for a future open world Sonic game. Compared to the variety of stages you get in other Sonic games - here's a casino with giant pinball machines, there's a European city full of balloons, here's a mineshaft from Halloween Town - the Frontiers open zones kind of felt sparse and empty, and there wasn't much I could find to do except go from one bit of plot to the next. This is a trap a lot of open-world games fall into, when the world is wider than it is deep, and there's everywhere to go but nothing to do.

However, I did like the enemies. They kind of looked samey aesthetics-wise, but they were all unique and had their own abilities that cleverly played off from Sonic's own, like the enemy disguised as a bounce pad or the one that would steal a Chaos Emerald from you.

In terms of boss fights, I think I preferred the part where you were normal Sonic running up their bodies to being Super Sonic and frantically smashing buttons. I was a big fan of Shadow of the Colossus, so anything that reminds me of those bosses is a plus.

Plot-wise, well... usually I can take or leave Sonic game plots, but this is probably the most plot-heavy Sonic game we've had so far. It's been described as "melancholy", and while it's not exactly grimdark-edgy, I wonder if it's a good fit for a Sonic game. I think the tone that suits Sonic best would be “fun”; not necessarily “silly” or “goofy”, just “fun”. That’s not me saying the whole thing should be happy-go-lucky, I think it should take slow moments every now and then to add complexity to the story.

Sonic's friends have these character arcs where they learn important lessons, like Amy learns not to be creepy-in-love with Sonic, Knuckles learns not to be tethered to the Master Emerald all the time, and Tails learns to stand on his own two feet for the umpteenth time. Part of me feels like maybe they're overcorrecting things that don't need that much correcting - especially Tails, whose whole arc felt kind of like an apology for the whole "Sonic, help me!" throwaway line in Forces.

Then there's Sage, the new character for this game, honouring the SEGA tradition of adding at least one new character every game. Truth be told, I kind of like them adding new characters, as long as they aren't just re-skins of the same "tutorial fairy" archetype (I think that's why Blaze and Silver had the staying power they did, being headlining playable characters in their debut games and all).

Sage had a lot of potential that I didn't think they got to explore. It's an interesting idea that she unconditionally loves Eggman like a father, but learns more of her morals from Sonic, which has the makings of a really tragic character. But they didn't really go in-depth with this my-two-dads-hate-each-other hook, and when they tried to do the whole Toy Story 2 bit with her (you know the part I'm talking about) I just couldn't take it seriously.

The main villain of the game turns out to be a big purple rock, which left me quite underwhelmed considering the build-up it got. The Sonic wiki reckons it's the ultimate overarching evil in all of Sonic ("Oh my God, I should have known! The one behind all this! All this time it was a big purple rock!") which is big talk considering Eggman is right! There! I get they were trying to go for a whole Azathoth/Yog-Sothoth thing, but I think Sonic-style dark gods need some more meat on their bones than the Lovecraft "it's indescribable, just trust me bro" style. I've seen some impressive fan designs for the big purple rock that make it look a lot more malevolent.

Honestly, I think Sage should have been the final boss. That’d really put her feelings between Sonic and Eggman at the emotional core of the story. Imagine once the towers were finished, Eggman comes out of cyberspace and the first thing he tries is to kill Sonic and his friends there and then - maybe he orders Sage to do it - but poor Sage can’t bring herself to kill her Uncle Sonic or disappoint her beloved dad, so she has an emotional breakdown which allows the evil cyber-force to enter into her mind, and the final boss ends up being her piloting this super-titan made of all three of the other titans. And maybe at the end Sonic knocks some sense into her – telling her to be her own person and all that – and she uses her free will to sacrifice herself and stop the cyber-evil. Or something. Look, I still can't believe the final boss was a QTE against a big purple rock, alright?!

But if there's one thing I do like Sonic Frontiers for, it's for being ambitious. If you look around the Sonic Fanon wiki, you'll see a lot of pretty detailed Sonic game ideas, and a lot of them have pretty high stakes and expansive stages - open-world designs featuring ancient evils from ancient civilizations and stuff like that. The first thing I thought of when I saw Frontiers, right when it was nothing more than a teaser, was that it reminded me of those fan game ideas. And in a strange way it works. Kind of. Sorta. I didn't hate it. On reflection.

If nothing else, Frontiers proves that an open-ended Sonic game can work. If the open world was more lively, it'd be a magical experience. Picture Sonic running through the countryside at night, over hill and dale, past streams and forests, the flickering lights of cities in the distance. Slaloming through traffic on the interstate, running up the sides of skyscrapers and springing from the rooftops, pedestrians down below wondering what that blue flash was. That kind of freedom and openness suits Sonic down to the ground. Split the world into denser and busier areas for fast-paced reflex-testing, and wider, quieter areas for taking it all in - that's a true Sonic simulator right there, looking into his world of worlds.

The new DLC also gives SEGA the chance to prove itself with other playable characters, like back in the days of Adventure yore. I actually like the presence of other playable characters - like I say, you don't make a fox with two tails who can fly and not have him playable - so long as they're fun to play as. Honestly, I hope the new DLC does it well, because if it's a success, then the next game might be willing to expand upon all this potential. You never know, we might be looking at a proper Sonic the Hedgehog RPG in a few years, and it could be the biggest Sonic adventure since... uh... Sonic Adventure.

So, yeah - Sonic Frontiers - didn't dig it - could've done better - and I hope it does do better, because it has a hell of a lot of potential, and I'd love to see an open-ended Sonic game taking place in a living, breathing world with the groundwork Frontiers has laid. And if we can play as Tails, Knuckles, Amy and all the rest, so much the better. Bring on Grand Theft Sonic, I say.

Az's Sonic Self-Insert AU Introduction | Part 2

OKAY so I made part one like a week ago, and now I'm finally following up with part two! This one will go over the actual AU a little bit.

Before I get into that, though, there's one thing I want to make ABUNDANTLY CLEAR;

Shadow and Eternal's relationship is NOT sexual/romantic in ANY manner.

I may call Shadow an F/O because idk what other term to use, and Eternal might high-key represent me, but there's none of the typical F/O attraction. It's almost more an OC/Canon ship to express how ridiculously important Shadow is to me. He's a character I've known my entire life nearly, and he/the things he's been through/the things he stands for have gotten me through a lot of things that I otherwise may not have. I have a really strong emotional connection to him because of this, and thus express that via this ship. I view Eternal and Shadow like two sides of the same coin, or two halves of a whole. Not as romantic/sexual partners, and I never depict them doing anything inappropriate. It's cool if it's still not your jam, it's okay to block me. But let's be civil about it.

TLDR; I do not find Shadow romantically/sexually attractive. He's a character who bears deep emotional significance to me and I express this via his relationship with my Sonicsona.

Pre-Retcon

So let's start off with pre-retcon. I am, of course, still working out details on a lot of parts of this entire AU as a whole, so some things may be vague, some may change later. In which I will update this post.

In pre-retcon, Eternal meets Sonic when he's still a girl. When he's at his lowest, really. I haven't ironed out the details yet, but Sonic sees that Eternal needs his help, and helps him come out of his shell. He helps Eternal realize that he is, indeed, not a girl. He makes a hero out of Eternal, which proves to be literally the best thing Sonic's ever done.

Eternal meets Shadow at almost the very beginning of SA2, when he's fleeing from the police after stealing the Chaos Emerald. Eternal sense his incredibly strange energy (As well as the Chaos Emerald), and gives chase. He gets his ass handed to him, and that sparks his curiosity and determination.

He proceeds to spend SA2 helping Sonic and chasing Shadow in equal measure, with the two goals overlapping rather frequently. He soon learns that Shadow is not the bad guy, not really, and helps him come around and realize what he really wants.

Eternal is devastated by Shadow's fall and presumed death, and carries it with him henceforth.

And then Heroes happens, in which Eternal tags along with Sonic to stop Eggman. In the process, he discovers that Shadow is still alive, but has no memory of him whatsoever. Helping him remember becomes priority number one for Eternal, and he thus spends the entirety of ShtH trying to talk some sense into Shadow.

Which he eventually does, and convinces Shadow to once again save the world. After this, Shadow looks to Eternal as his moral compass, and he finds his new place in the world. The two become inseparable henceforth.

And then there's 06. A lot happens in 06. It's 06. I can't spoil all my ideas bc I think they're pretty damn awesome; Too awesome to just throw around outside the actual story. This is where Violet comes in, however. She hails from the same future as Silver and Blaze, and team up with them to try saving their future. But when all is said and done, the timeline gets erased and reset, and in the new timeline, everything happens in an entirely different way...

Post-Retcon

In post-retcon, Eternal's powers have manifested... Differently. It's not just psychokinesis, it's something else. And even he doesn't know what. But he starts off in this version far better than his pre-retcon self. Sonic doesn't have to pull him out of such a deep hole, this time. He falls into the hero role much easier.

This time, he doesn't encounter Shadow right at the start. Instead, his first encounter with him is when he goes with Tails to rescue Sonic on Prison Island. He senses Shadow there, an unidentified energy source. But he chooses to leave it alone; Sonic is the goal.

But then he notices the Chaos Emeralds too, and realizes that Eggman is there for them. So he goes to find them, and gets into a fight with Rouge. This results in Shadow taking both of them to the ARK...

...Where they decide to keep Eternal at leverage against Sonic. He tries to fight back, being massively powerful compared to most, but Shadow is more than a match for him, and his ability to teleport throughout the ARK at a moment's notice means that Eternal can't do much of anything to escape.

So he turns to something akin to mind games. Prodding and reaching, trying to untangle Shadow's motives and mind. He gets the feeling... He gets the feeling Shadow isn't evil. And soon he gets the feeling that Shadow is someone who needs to be saved.

Things get messy as time ticks; Misunderstandings are had, and much to his dismay, Shadow finds himself caring about Eternal. Which slowly breaks down his false memories, and makes him realize he was wrong.

Shadow's fall hurts Eternal a thousand times worse this time. And carrying it is a thousand times heavier when he has one of Shadow's Inhibitor Rings, and a list of things Maria and Shadow never got to do on Earth.

He honors them by going down that list himself.

He spends Heroes in this version 100% chasing Shadow. He gets sidetracked and interrupted along the way, eventually joining up with Sonic for the final showdown, but Shadow is his driving force. He's hurt to find, however, that Shadow doesn't remember him.

But it's Eternal, he doesn't give up. He once again spends ShtH chasing Shadow and trying to jog his memory. It's far easier to do, this time, for some reason...

Once Eternal gets Shadow to come around, they once again become inseparable. Even more-so, having a strange telepathic-type of bond via their abilities to sense each other's energy.

At some point, Silver and Violet are re-introduced, and the two Rush games also happen, but details have yet to be ironed out.

06 doesn't happen in this version either, and I'm unsure about what I'll do with the very fine-cut plots of Unleashed and Colors, which brings us to Generations.

Which is sort of fine-cut as well; Eternal is at the party with everyone else, and gets sucked into the white void with everyone else, being suspended in time at the battle with Perfect Chaos. But... Being thrown through time as it gets torn apart has some... Strange side-effects.

In which everyone realizes that the pre-retcon universe wasn't entirely erased... Pieces of it still exist within everyone. And Violet in particular remembered everything from the start. It sheds light on what Eternal's powers really are.

Not sure what I'm doing with Lost World, but Forces...

Forces is one hell of a ride. Omega and Shadow are presumed dead. Sonic is presumed dead. The world belongs to Eggman and Infinite. Eternal is pissed. The role of the Avatar isn't a thing, with Eternal mostly taking that role, sort of. I do use the default Avatar as a character, using the popular name of "Gadget" for him. Bc I think his design is cute.

The war is fought in earnest; Sonic is rescued, and Shadow finally turns up alive. And in the end, Eternal and Shadow put an end to Infinite's reign of terror (Does that mean saving him? Maybe it does. Maybe. You'll never know until we get there. Wink wonk).

And, well, that's it. Until Frontiers comes out, anyways. In which I will probably go feral trying to put plot together. I greatly look forwards to it.

So this is a story that was originally supposed to be a one-shot. I posted it on fanfiction.net and a lot of the reviews wanted me to make a continuation. I've been trying to turn it into a completed multi chapter fic but so far i've only gotten 3 chapters done and i'm not confident that i'll be inspired enough to finish it... soooo i'm posting all three chapters here on Tumblr in hopes that seeing your comments and reviews will motivate me to continue it i guess. Anyway, enjoy!

“You’re supposed to show me where to go.”

“I’m supposed to-” The blond stuttered incoherently. “I’ve never been outside of the Heartfilia estate before you kidnapped me!”

“Why not? The door was wide open!”

“The wall was wide open and that’s because you came crashing through it!!”

Or: Lucy Heartfilia's life is thrown into chaos and confusion when a strange creature bursts through her wall and destroys her family mansion.

Chapter 1:

Normally when Lucy wakes up in the morning, she is met with a comfortable silence. Her room is usually clean and orderly and the gentle sloshing of water from outside would soothe the raging headaches that those annoying birds would constantly cause. Her open Curtin should help stream in warm sunlight. That was its purpose.

Good thing it wasn’t morning.

At least it didn’t look like it. From what was left of Lucy’s window she can tell that it’s still dark outside. And she can kind of see the stars. It’s a bit hard to tell considering the glowing red light that was trying very hard to blind her. During all of this, Lucy looks at the mess that she used to call her room and thinks one thing:

What. The. Fuck.

Someone groans from within whatever the hell just flew through her wall. It sounded male… But Lucy threw that idea right out of the window once the creature stepped out of the cube thing. Unlike any other alien, This one had scales. Talons. Horns. Wings. A tail. Scary looking red eyes. And… Pink hair? It was too dark to see much of anything but the hair definitely looked pink. Flames escaped from the palms of its hands...er she doesn't know what to call them actually. Doesn't matter.

Lucy was definitely dreaming.

Flames began to coat it’s entire body, spreading around her fluffy pink carpet that was perched under a small table. Oh, the table was on fire too. As was most everything else that she possessed…

Her letters to her mother!

In a flash, Lucy dashed to her very flammable desk and hesitantly snatched up her keys and a box that held the letters. Once she had those she began to look for a means of escape. The door was blocked- by the fire of course. She wouldn't be able to reach it anyway because the thing was rudely blocking the way.

Her only other option would be the broken window...wall. The one that she couldn't jump out of without shattering every bone in her body. Her father was a terrible person, making her stay on the 4th floor of his gigantic mansion! And it was on fire! She was going to die here! But there's so much she wanted to do! Like, live for example! This Sucked!

Lucy defeatedly fell to the floor, leaning on what was left of her wall. The mansion was going to burn tonight, and with it so was she. Her father was out on a business trip as per usual. And because of her little rebellion yesterday, he had ordered all of the maids to go home for the night, leaving her to fend for herself. That wasn’t an issue though.

She’s read plenty of books to know how to cook, how to grow crops. She knew how to do her own hair, and brush her own teeth, clean her own room and dress her own self. She even knew what to use to put out certain fires! But no book has ever told her how to get rid of fire coming from an alien demon thing! It’s not like anyone would miss her when she was gone anyways.

So she was going to burn to death.

That's fine.

The creature moved for the first time since it barreled through her bedroom. Its eyes sent a glare right through her and its feet began to move. Lucy looked up at it’s moving form and glared right back. She could die by its hands, but she wasn’t going out without a fight.

It stalked closer to her, the fire spreading with every crooked step its legs took. Lucy was shaking, but still, she stayed planted to her spot and hardened the look that she was sending it. And for once, like an angel sent from above had finally decided to bless her miserable life, it stopped. The fire went out and its eyes stopped glowing a bright gold. The horns that adjourned its head sunk into it. Like being swallowed by quicksand. His other inhuman body parts did too. The scales were gone. So were the claws and the wings. The only strange things that remained were its tail and its pink hair.

Now that she could see more closely, the thing was definitely a male. Calloused hands, beautiful tanned skin, and stupidly firm abs. Ok...

“Greetings human” He waved, though his neutral facial expression contradicted the excitement in his voice.

Oh great.

He can talk.

What. The. Fuck!?

“I understand that you may be very confused.” He continued. “However I must ask that you give me an idea of where I am, And/Or point me in the direction of someone who can.” At the end, he curled his lip up in such a weird way. Like he was...trying to smile.

Oh hell no.

This freaking alien was not going to smile at her after destroying her room. Lucy stood up abruptly, walking towards the side of her bed and pulling something out.

This thing burned her new rug.

She tested out its strength, spinning it around a few times.

It destroyed her window.

The hard metal felt cold in her hand as she moved over to the confused looking alien.

It came so close to destroying her Letters and her keys!

She stood in front of it, glaring daggers into his dark onyx eyes.

And it had the audacity to look at her very obviously distressed face... and smile!?

She gripped the handle of her weapon with both hands, drawing her elbows back in preparation for a swing.

Oh hell no.

And she knocked it unconscious, hitting it in the back of the head as hard as she could.

Lucy paced around the remaining contents of her room, stealing anxious glances and the alien that lay in the middle of it.

She hit him with a bat.

She just hit someone with a bat! As hard as she could!

But he wasn’t dead… Right? She tried to check his pulse but his skin was burning hot. He didn’t look all that dead because when she hit his head, no blood came out. Or… whatever the thing drops when it- when he gets injured.

Coins? Does it drop coins? Does he drop coins!? HE DIDN’T DROP COINS SO HE’S PROBABLY NOT DEAD!!

OK!

Ok…

This was fine. He’s not dead obviously. But when Lucy hit him, she felt and heard something crack. Something on his head, o-or neck! It cracked. So... did she just doom the planet!? Was she supposed to call someone!? The police maybe?

Wait, did Area 51 have a number?

“Ow… What the fuck?”

“Shut up!” Lucy waved him off, biting her nails nervously. “I’m trying to think-”

Wait…

The blond very slowly twisted her head around to confirm her terrifying suspicions. The alien just talked, didn’t it…? The fucking alien that she supposedly knocked out was awake! He was sitting up, touching his head cautiously, and looking at her…

Holy shit it was going to kill her!!!!

“Relax, no I’m not” He slumped back down on the floor, rubbing the sore spot on his neck and muttering: “At least I know why my head hurts now...Freakin weirdo”

“I’m the weirdo!? Look here mister-” Lucy took a deep breath, pinching her pointer finger and thumb together to calm herself. She had to be careful. One wrong move and this Alien would most definitely destroy the planet. Or he could be like E.T; all nice and shit.

The disgruntled boy shot her a glare.

Ok maybe not.

“Uh… W-would you like some tea?” That’s right Lucy. This guy will leave soon enough if you keep kissing his ass. All you have to do is pretend to be nice, and the planet is saved! Her plan was foolproof!

“You know I can hear you, right?”

“YOU WHAT!?”

The alien shook his head, covering his ears. Cautiously, he crawled over to the door. “You’re really loud, ya know that?”

“Honestly!” Lucy raised her hands to her hair, giving the blond locks a hard tug. This was just too much. All of her pent up stress and anger became too much to suppress. Almost to a point where she’d have to hit this thing in the back of the head 5 more times before she even thought about calming down. So she decided to let it all out.

“What the fuck do you expect!? What!? You want me to treat you like a king? Run your baths and give you foot massages? Where did you even come from!? Why are you here!? Why in my room!? What the hell even are you!? Am I going insane!?”

“Umm…”

“What the HELL DO YOU WANT FROM ME!?”

“I could tell you!” The alien cut her off nervously. His eyes flicked back in forth between her own furious eyes and whatever she was holding in her hands. “But you’ll need to put down that metal stick first…”

With heavy breathing, Lucy looked down at her hands. As he had pointed out she was holding the bat… Mavis knows what she would have done with it in that state of mind. She was usually much more in control of her emotions.

“S-sorry” She stuttered, letting go of the weapon like it had burned her. The blond looked into the creature's eyes in search of any hostility. To her astonishment, she was proud and also slightly guilty to admit that she saw some fear. “I guess it’s just been a long day…”

More like a long life. Will anything ever get easier for her? Or was she destined to be cursed by this bad luck? The nickname bestowed upon her by various high-class peoples was just that. A name. She can’t recall a single memory where everything has been perfect. Where she had felt genuine happiness. Not since her mother died…

“Hey…”

Oh yeah. She should probably get rid of this alien right?

“You can”- She sat on her bed, defeated.-”You can go if you want. I don't care”

Now to take care of this tiny space ship. The house had to be clean by the time her father returned in two days. He would not be happy about the mess. His daughter, however? He wouldn't pay her any mind. The maids would be back by tomorrow morning… So she could just dig a giant hole in the backyard and bury it to the best of her ability. She probably won't finish so she can just say it was a rock that landed from outer space. That technically wasn’t a lie. Was it getting hotter in here? Whatever there was still the question of how she would get it there. Plus, there was no way she could rebuild her wall and remove any evidence of fire from her room in 5 hours. Back to square one…

“Let’s go.”

“What-?” Lucy snapped her head up to the sound, her eyes searching for the source. A head of pink hair caught her attention. He was still here? Why? So she asked:

“Why are you still here? Don’t you have things to do?”

The alien said nothing, staring at her with an unreadable expression. “We're leaving,” He said after a moment, walking over to the hole that he created with his ship.

“Uh” Lucy gave him a look as if he had just grown two heads. Not that she assumed he couldn't! He probably could!… “Have fun?”

“You're coming too…” He mumbled, awkwardly shuffling his feet. Ok, the girl was thoroughly confused now. “And I don’t have two heads.”

“I’m not going with you!” She exclaimed, completely ignoring that last part. “Why should I? You’ve already burned down my room, what more could you wan-!”

“If you don’t come with me I’ll destroy the world.”

“You-” Lucy gawked at the thing, various emotions flashing through her as it took her hand. End the world? It wanted to end the world!? And it would be her fault! Wait, why should she care? The world hasn’t done anything for her, she should just let it burn! But then again…

She wasn't the only one living in it.

So many innocent lives would be put at stake if she said no. Even if she was dead, the guilt would be too much to handle. With thoughts like these, she deserved to rot in the pits of hell. So she would go with him. There was no other choice. But that didn’t mean she wouldn't try to stop him either. His strengths, his weaknesses. What things make him happy and what makes him tick. Lucy would uncover all of that, and use it to her advantage.

“Fine…” She huffed, letting him pull her to a standing position.

He gave her a look, curling his lip in such a natural way. Almost like he was the happiest person in the world. For someone who just threatened to destroy the earth, he looked so innocent.

How weird… This alien boy.

Archie's wasted character

Who is Miles?

Miles Prower is the Anti equivalent of Tails, from Mobius Prime. He is afew years older, being 11 instead of 8 and much more mature. He still appears to possess Tails' youthful tenacity and desire for independence, but he has a violent rebellious attitude and shows no interest in holding himself to childish things, even though he's only 11 years old himself, hating the nickname "Tails" being an example.

Miles holds his younger counterpart in utter contempt for traits Miles sees as weaknesses, especially how Tails went down the path of Science and technology instead of his magical Chaos force heritage, implying that Miles went down a more mystical path instead of Science, but from what we see in the comic Miles is more in the political field, by that I mean he manipulates all the political aspects of Moebius.

His actions throughout the comic run make him out to be smart, picky, but also cold, calculating and always 5 steps ahead of his own team and Adversaries, this leading to Alicia making him the Suppression Squads leader behind the scenes, while she is the figurehead "ruler."

That's Anti-Tails, Who throughout this I'll be reffering to as "Miles." Now you may be thinking, "Why make a post on an extremely obscure and hardly used Archie character? Why not someone Like Tails, Shadow or a more popular Archie character?"

Well, it's because I believe that Miles had the potential to be one of Archie's most intresting original characters, I believe he could've easily held his own "Suppression Squad" comic run, but Archie Unfortunately really underused him and wasted his potential, but hey...

That's where us fans come in!

This post is All about Miles Canonical self, every canon fact I can find about him and his full story in his short run during Pre-Reboot Archie Sonic, and my own personal headcanons in the later post.

But...before I get into any the headcanons, I need to teach those who don't know him about him, I need to talk about his Canonical self..so, let's get into it. Headcanons will be in the follow up post.

Canonical Apprearnces.

First appearance

The first appearance of Anti-Tails was back when the character was just "Evil Tails" and it was of him joining the Anti Freedom fighters in an attempt to take over Mobius Prime, prior to the downfall of Eggman.

He and his evil allies pretended to be the good Mobius Prime versions, and struck knothole with acts of mayhem, vandalism and overall mischief, a common thing on moebius. The real Freedom Fighters soon returned to set things straight, but their initial attempts to defeat the Anti-Freedom Fighters failed as their Anti-Mobius selves knew their moves as well as they did. Sally Acorn came upon the solution: switching combat partners. When he faced Rotor, Evil Tails proved unable to overcome the larger and stronger Mobian. Defeated along with the other Anti-Freedom Fighters, he was sent back to Anti-Mobius, where they continued to cause mayhem despite the efforts of the kindly Dr. Ivo Kintobor (Anti-Robotnik) to stop them.

This was the last we saw Evil Tails for awhile, however we did see a cameo of him along with every other tails when they all came together and formed Titan Tails.

The Suppression Squad

Some time passed before his next appearance, and in that time "Anti-Mobius" went through changes in its name, now "Moebius." And all the characters changed alongside it.

Miles had assisted Boomer in stealing Dr Kintober's goal posts in order to allow the Suppression Squad to have access to inter-dimensional travel. Scourge obviously took this opportunity and went straight to Mobius Prime, along with a few other members of the SS, Miles being one of them, and they attempted an assult on the Freedom HQ, where we see Miles' and Tails face off, with Miles declaring to not be referrd to as Tails or Anti-Tails, but instead just "Miles".

He also indicated his disgust at Tails for having chosen a path of Science and study, despite having a strong connection to "Chaos force", aka magic. This has led to people believing Miles himself is a magic user.

When Metal Sonic attacked Scourge, believing him to be the real Sonic, Miles stayed back and observed instead of helping his king. Now, you may think that's betrayal, but in reality Miles didn't help because he did not wish to undermine Scourges strength, so instead he observed. Soon after Sonic came onto the scene he showed his willingness to help anyone, even his enimies, and this gave Miles an idea:

Let's team up with the freedom fighters to betray Scourge, that's the new plan.

Miles later met up with Sally, Bunnie, Antonie and Tails to offer an alliance, but didn't let Tails speak and showed his contempt to the original version, telling him, "Please don't talk, little boy, We're trying to have an intelligent conversation." Sally accepted the offer, knowing she needed all the help she could get for taking down Scourge.

Upon returning to Scourge, pretending to be running from the freedom fighters, Scourge asked for a summary on his mission, that being "bomb New Metropolis" but Miles ignored him however, instead reporting to Alicia (Anti-Sally) that his mission was a success. Immediately thereafter, Alicia told the Suppression Squad to, "Show our King just what we think of him", with Boomer and Patch clearly readying for battle

However, Miles was doubling up his betrayal, blasting both Sonic and Scourge back into Moebius for them to Duke it out there, with Boomer sealing the portal behind them. An ethical debate followed this, between Sally, Alicia and Miles, the trio being ordered to get the goal posts ready to be able to return the freedom fighters to Mobius after both groups agreed to make sure Scourge was defeated on Moebius by Sonic

Miles was as shocked as the rest of the group to find Scourge had defeated all of his opponents as Super Scourge. When the rest of the Knothole Freedom Fighters and Suppression Squad were quickly defeated, Scourge turned his sights on Miles, identifying him as the mastermind behind the betrayal.

Miles, cowering in fear, denied his role in betraying Scourge, who was threatening to beat him for his betrayal. However, Miles was saved by Silver the Hedgehog and unlike the rest of his allies, wasn't even hurt. Following Scourge's defeat and Miles' attempt to recruit Buns Rabbot into the Suppression Squad, Miles spoke to Alicia about who would be their new leader. Alicia explained that while she may be the figurehead ruler, they both knew Miles held the real authority at this point, to which Miles grinned.

That was the last we see of Miles in the Archie comics, he unfortunately isn't in the post reboot because he's now owned by Ken Penders, so we'll never see him again. Below is all of his official designs, and after that is my final thoughts on the character.

My overview of Miles as a character.

I'm no Character analysist so I'll make this short and sweet, my review of Miles is that he's a Character with alot of potential, but he went wasted, not on purpose, but thanks to the lawsuit.

I believe that if that lawsuit never happened, and that arc was closed up nicely Anti-Tails would of became a far more realistic and grounded Character, and probably pretty popular too. Miles to me is a kid who was manipulated into a life of crime and now believes that's what is right, and I think that could of been an arc for him, mellowing out and becoming a true king for the people of Moebius. I also like how when Scourge goes Super and goes to Miles to confront him, he dosent stand up to him, he dosent become strong, but instead he cowers in fear, hes terrified and tries to lie, to me, that makes him feel more grounded, and I like that.

Personally I wish Miles was more popular, I wish he got more spotlight than he did and I wish his story got concluded, but with what we got, I think he's pretty good, and pretty interesting too! I've seen alot of ideas float around for this dude, all of them making sense in they're on way, and to be honest? His lack of story kinda helps make him more accessible.

Tl:Dr: I like Miles alot, and I hope this post helps you lot learn more about him and overall, gets more people down to write with him, draw with him and explore him!

Would I change him in any way?

Yeah, there's one key part of Miles (from what we got) that I think was wasted. Now, what is that? What would I change about a Character I've mostly praised? Well...

I wish he was magical. In the Archie comics Tails is actually strongly connected to the "Chaos Force", not as connected as Shadow, but still VERY connected, and guess what? Miles and Tails ARE biologically the same, same DNA, and in that bit of the comic, Miles calls Tails out on something he should have no idea about if he himself isn't connected to the same thing (or Moebius equivalent). To me at least this kind of implies Miles is magical too.

Basically, I'd give Miles' moveset a touch of magical abilities, connecting him to Moebius' "Anarchy force". I think it would help separate him abit more from Tails, while also connecting them, because whenever you have science and magic together...they clash.

But yea that's all I'd change in what we got, just hints of magic, some magic attacks here and there. I think it'd be pretty neat, and it'd have the science Vs magic aspect with him and Tails relationship.

Miles and the Suppression Squad were going to have one more arc, it was teased at the end of issue 196, but unfortunately it never got written. That would of been really neat but unfortunately it never got to happen.

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

“You don't have to ask twice.”

“Fine then.” it sighs, “ Who are you going to sacrifice?”

“She was the Goddess of the Moon. Selene.”

. . . .

One year later..

“It's so sad the Goddess died after a year of torture. Plus, her husband sentenced her to prison.”

“Do you know what caused the Goddess to die at such a young age?”

“I heard rumours that she was cursed?"

“How could she die from being cursed? No one in the realm could hurt the royal family.”

“Ladies, it would be respectful if you didn't talk nonsense about your God and Goddess.”

The maids wince, terrified when Harry's advisor caught them gossiping in the kitchen. Feeling embarrassed, they quickly return to their work and praying he doesn't report them to the God.

“You're lucky that I won't report you to His Majesty,” he announces, “Go get to work.”

The all women nod as the advisor leaving them alone. While they get back to their work, Arion, the advisor, immediately goes to Harry who's in his study. When he arrives, he sees the door slightly ajar and knocks on it, walking in when the God allows him.

“Is there any good news, Your Majesty?" Arion asks after he bends down, looking at the distressed God behind his oak table.

“Is that creature still exist?” Harry hums, his eyes never leaving the old book in his hand.

“What creature, Your Majesty?”

Harry sighs, closes the book tiredly and put it on the table. "I saw an odd mark on Selene's neck, and it disappeared just before the cremation ceremony began. It was an ancient mark that belongs to mythical creatures, according to this book." he points at the book, "As far as I know, the mythical creatures vanished when Centauri attacked Sicily far centuries ago."

“So, you think Her Majesty's death has something to do with them?”

“I don't want to think like that, but that mark makes me uneasy." Harry scratches his temple, "They should be extinct, right?"

“I heard one rumour, Your Majesty." Arion starts, "When the chaos broke out, some of the survivors chose to negate their physical and returned to where they were born. And some of them had extraordinary power."

“If what you think is true, you have to find them. If there are humans who know its existence, they will know the truth about our realm.” he adds, looking at Harry respectfully who's now listening to him carefully, “Whose mark is it?”

“Cerberus.”

“Belonged to the God of Dead,” Arion whispers, “Do you think it inherited its owner power?”

“I don't know, Arion.” Harry sighs, “But for sure, I have to find the truth.” . . . .

It never occurred to Ilitia that she would do such a thing like this the first time in her life, and she vowed to be last time too.

Right now, she was standing in the middle of a Parthenon, under the starry night of Corinth, eyes deadly looking at a figure that only she could see. A few meters in front of them, lay a woman on a stone table, looking beautiful and peaceful in her forever sleep. Looking at her dead granddaughter, she realised that she had travelled this far and didn't want her efforts to fail.

“It's my honour to able to see you again, Carmenta."

“It's been a long decade, is it?”

“I heard you were in Sicily,” its stepped closer, “What brought you here?”

“My granddaughter was killed by order of a Goddess–”

“How come?”

Ilitia bit her lips, not sure if she should tell the chronology. But if she refused, it wouldn't help her. Right then, she had to choose the right word.

“She was carrying the Goddess' husband child. Long story short, the Goddess found out and order her guards to killed my granddaughter.”

“She was impregnated by a God?” it raised its head, “You're not making it up, are you?”

“The Goddess couldn't conceive because of a curse, and her husband went down to Earth to find me. Instead, he met my darling Y/N and they fell in love. The God cheated behind his wife, yes, and.. they constantly having sexual intercourse until Y/N got pregnant." she starts, "We all do know that no God can impregnate a human. But, that was the fate."

“And when the Goddess find out about that, she was terrified that her husband would have an heir to the throne from someone else?” it continued Ilitia's story and was agreed by the woman.

“Is that the Centauri crown?”

“Yes.”

“How tragic.”

“Because of that, I came here to ask your help to bring my Y/N back because she doesn't deserve to die this way." Ilitia whispers, "I'll do anything for her, and help Centauri to have an heir to the throne. After all, the Goddess couldn't give an heir and my granddaughter has the right to find her happiness, even with a God."

“You know that the price isn't easy, do you? What do you prepare for this?”

“A life for a life.” Ilitia deadpanned, “It's a fair price to trade my granddaughter's life.”

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

“You don't have to ask twice.”

“Fine then.” it sighs, “ Who are you going to sacrifice?”

“The Goddess of the Moon. Selene."

. . . .

This is the second time Harry has visited this mountain peak, a place where used to be the hideout of previous Gods and Goddesses, the place believed to be the hideout of the mythical creaturesor even a born place. The mountain is very beautiful when the sun shines on Earth, but quite scary when the eerie silent echoed after the night sky appears.

The God doesn't know where to start, and this mission reminds him of his arrival to Syracuse nearly two years ago, making him remember his darling Y/N. He misses her so much, and it hurts his soul. If he knew where Y/N's grave was, at least he could visit her and loving on her even if he only could touch her tombstone.

“Mount Olympus feels quite different." Arion says next to him, his eyes stare at the endless mountain slope.

For this chance, Harry decided to bring Arion with him because he knows this mission isn't easy. And surely as his advisor, Arion can help him and give him advise since the man has studied mythical creatures.

“Cerberus is a dog. There's no way it stays on the top of a mountain, right? Too risky if humans see it." Harry mumbles, "If it only visible."

“Let's get down to the ground then, Your Majesty.”

Harry nods, and in a split second, he's setting foot in the valley. Then, they begin to explore, hoping to find any sign of Cerberus. The two of them always checked every cave or spot that could potentially be a possible residence for that giant creature.

It had taken them nearly four hours and the night had almost turned to dawn, but they had found nothing. Harry is quite desperate, and thinking they have come to the wrong place.

“Any luck?” Harry asks after Arion appeared in front of him, only for Harry get another disappointment when Arion shakes his head no.

“Did we come to the wrong place?”

“I'm– ”

In all of sudden, the air around them feels stifled and the wind feels hot even though the sun hasn't yet risen. Harry also realises that the grass they were trampling on was shrivelled at once. Something feels strange.

“It's strange..” Arion looking around, “Something happened.”

“Something comes,” Harry corrects him, “Something comes closer, still hiding from us.”

“Show yourself!” Harry shouts, “We came in peace! Just looking for something!”

The hot wind getting stronger and stronger, until a bolt of red lightning swooped down in front of him. Now, Harry can see clearly what appears before him. A giant three headed-dogs, its body glows slightly reddish. It has a serpent tail, along with snakes protruding from it back. Its glowing red eyes look annoyed at being disturbed. The Cerberus looks intimidating than he thought.

“Why are you looking for me, Your Majesty?” it smirks, showing it canines coating with saliva, “Why are you bothering me at my stay?”

“I apologies if I disturb your sleep,” Harry answers, “I didn't know that you were survived and hiding here.”

“We don't want humans to see me, do we?” it argues, “Even though I'm invisible.”

“Why didn't you go back to Centauri?”

“My master was dead, I couldn't go back without an owner. Besides, it's more peaceful here if I go back to your realm." it scoffs, "What do you want? The sun is almost rising, and I can't let anyone see me."

“My wife has died, and I saw your mark on her neck.” Harry points out his serpent tail, “Do you have anything to do with her death?”

“Your wife died? How unfortunate.” Cerberus mocks, “If someone is destined to die, then she must die.”

“I just want to know why you killed her, Cerberus.” Harry seethes, “You have no right to the life of a God or Goddess.”

“Despite her death lightened your burden, Your Majesty?” Cerberus arches its eyebrow, “And set you free? You should thank me, anyway.”

“I know you inherited your master's power but you can't kill her like that. She has nothing wrong against you.”

“Yet she has done sins and be cunning." Cerberus nods, "And now if I may ask you, how do you feel after your manipulative wife gone forever? As far as I know, a God and Goddess cannot be divorced if it's not death."

“Your Majesty, he knows too much.” Arion mutters under his breath, “Do you– ”

“Advisor, I didn't ask you to speak.” Cerberus growls then averts its gaze to Harry, “You once planned to do annulment but it couldn't be done because the court said a ruler must still have a wife.”

“How did you know?” Harry challenges, “Why did you know everything?”

“A bird told me," it stares boldly at him, "And I started to think, her death is something I can be proud of because she's the rightest person.”

Harry frowns. Something feels out of place with what it said and bothering him. And those question being thrown at him, he could easily answer them. Yet, he couldn't. After all, he still loves Selene even though he also hates her. Selene is his wife who was always there for him. Of course he was sad to know that the woman died in prison after she had been sick for a year.

“What did you mean with the rightest?”

“A year ago, someone came and beg me to help bring someone's life back. They're family, tho. This old woman said that her granddaughter died innocently and wanted her granddaughter to come back to her life. It was not an easy task and there must be a price to pay. When she mentioned the sacrifice, I was quite baffled that she prepared another life. Well, I didn't kill the sacrifice right away, I tortured them first by sucked their life slowly before the death calling their name."

“Selene was being sacrificed? Who dared to do that? Did you not aware that you overstepping our rules?!" Harry's voice boomed, angry at what he had just heard. How could someone risk Selene's life just to bring back a dead person?

“You let a human order you to kill a Goddess? Really?" he hisses, "How sick of that!"

“She was right, you're quite stupid too apparently." Cerberus rolls its eyes.

“Cerberus, I order– "

“You're just an advisor, and you're just a guest in my stay. I do not belong to the Centauri so I don't take orders from anyone." Cerberus cuts Arion off, "You think I'm stupid enough to do that for humans? Have you forgotten that only your people can see me?”

While Arion stares at Cerberus confused, Harry begins to think and digest every single word that came out from the creature from the beginning.

No way...

“Carmenta came to me to help her with Y/N, and she traded her granddaughter's life over your wife's.” . . . .

His heart is pounding like crazy, almost like about to burst through his ribcage. He cannot believe it, his darling Y/N is back to life. His Y/N is safe and sound. His Y/N is free from Selene's torture. It feels so long from the last time he saw her, he really missed her and couldn't wait to see her. There are millions of questions running through his head for him to ask Y/N and Ilitia.

How could?

How is she?

Did she miss him?

Will Ilitia allow him to meet her?

When Cerberus revealed the truth, he couldn't think straight. All he had in mind was Y/N, Y/N, and Y/N only. He had to find her as soon as possible. Despite he had to beg on his knees to Cerebus which made Arion widened his eyes; asking where the last time it met Ilitia was, it was worth it.

And now, here he is, in Corinth. His long wait ends in one of the cities on the seafront of Greece. Of course, Ilitia couldn't possibly stay in Syracuse anymore, she started fresh in Corinth with Y/N. With Arion went back to Centauri, Harry feels freer to get Y/N.

Well, his search for his true love isn't an easy thing. It's been two days and he hasn't found her yet and plans to rent a house longer if it takes a long time because it's impossible to go back and forth to Centauri. Whatever it takes, Harry has to find her.

“Why is it so hard to find you, Y/N?" he mutters while looking endless of Corinth's sea, "I miss you so much, do you miss me too?"

She's here, Your Majesty

Harry was enjoying the sea breeze so much that he didn't realise he'd been daydreaming on the shore for too long. He already spent hours tiredly finding Y/N and it seems that his efforts should be even harder tomorrow.

When he decided to leave the beach and return to his rented house, he swears that his eyes are playing a trick on him. About twenty meters away from him, he sees the woman he was looking for is staring at the open sea in front of her, both hands on her dress pockets with her bare feet in the water.

She looks even more beautiful.

She looks healthy.

She looks perfect.

And finally, he finds her.

Without a second thought, Harry runs to her – afraid that she will vanish like when he saw her in his castle. He doesn't want to be late, and he doesn't want to lose her again.

When his body crashes on her and his strong arms wrapped around her body, Harry feels home.

He's too happy because it feels real, he shed tears of happiness when he feels her warm and alive body. Then, he breaks the hug and cupping her face with both his palms, adoring the beautiful face in front of him. Admiring the woman who's staring at his teary green eyes.

“It' you. You're here.” he sobs, “You're here with me. You're back. You're alive. You're safe.”

“I miss you so much and it hurts my soul.” he gently strokes her cheek, “How are you, my darling?”

Yet, what Y/N said to him make his smile fade away, “Who are you?” . . . .

“You know, when someone's life is being exchanged, the life does return. But, as pure life. So, your granddaughter's will start a fresh life. She won't remember anything, but the basic abilities like speaking, writing, reading, and so on won't be erased. So, you will have extra effort to help her adjust."

“I understand,” Ilitia nods “She was pregnant before. Will the baby come back too?”

Cerberus shakes its head, "No. If you want her baby to come back, you have to prepare one more God or Goddess life to trade because he has a God's blood running on him."

“How do you know her child is going to be a boy?”

“Mythical creatures always know, Carmenta.”

. . . . “Why did you do that, Ilitia?” Harry asks.

After the shock he got when Y/N admitted she didn't know him, Harry couldn't believe it at all. Yet, he let out a relief huff when Ilitia approached them and didn't look surprised at all, and invited Harry to talk at their house. And along the way, he stole a glance at Y/N who walked next to Ilitia, looking so confused yet curious about his presence.

“Honestly? I refused my innocent granddaughter to be killed your wife, Harry. She had done nothing wrong, but you and your wife.”

“Me?” Harry frowns, his eyes looking around for caution if Y/N hear them since Ilitia asked her to wait in her bedroom, “I have nothing to– ”

“Your ignorance, your selfishness. If you're smart enough, you could prevent this all.” Ilitia scowls, “You couldn't choose between her and Selene, and you didn't want to lose one of them. Sadly, your behaviour made you lose both of them. Also, your future child.”

“I know you resent me so much, Ilitia. But, I truly sorry for all this mess. What I feel towards her is real." he gives her apologetic look, "I just want to fix everything."

“Of course, that's why you came here all the way from Centauri.” Ilitia shrugs, “Besides, this is my way to make her happy and help my old home to have a better future.”

“Centauri is always be your home, Ilitia." he reassures her, "After all, Y/N will needs if she comes home with me.”

“How confident of you.” Ilitia chuckles, “If so, you have to start over as if you just know each other since she doesn't remember you. And win her heart if you have chosen your destiny.”

Harry nods as Ilitia gets up from her couch, calling Y/N to meet them both in the living room. While waiting for her, Harry starts to get nervous and his hand begin to sweat, too overwhelmed by the happiness. When Y/N appears in front of him, Ilitia who's standing behind her granddaughter smiling to the old yet new couple, "Mia cara, this Harry. Maybe you didn't remember him but you were so close with him, he just come home from his overseas trip.” and strokes Y/N arms lovingly, “Just introduce yourself as the beginning, he would understand.”

“I haven't introduced myself yet.” Harry offers his hand for Y/N to take, smiling fondly. “My name's Harry”

The girl smiles and shakes his hand softly, “Hi, Harry. I'm Y/N.”

Just like the first time.

A/N: Sorry if this story is kinda bad so far, I'm not really use to writing in 1st person pov I've always done 3rd person pov but I hope you enjoy it either way!

"Serenity!! Where are you now? You know I'm going to find you eventually."

I sighed apparently hiding continuously from Tom never ends up working in my favor because he always manages to find me no matter where I hide. No matter how dark of a cave I find or the time I literally buried myself in the sand he still manages to find me.

Don't get me wrong or anything, Tom's a nice guy and all but already having to be stuck down here for a month and half with someone I hardly knew kinda sucks but then again I was also betrayed by Sam who claimed he loved me and I was also beginning to get homesick.

"Ah I found you!" Tom exclaimed, popping his face into my line of vision. I really thought I had him this time hiding in the smallest space I could find in this cave.

"You know if you're trying to hide, you should really make sure to hide your tail next time too." I slightly rolled my eyes but couldn't stop the small smile that was forming on my face, and looked at my tail that I have yet become accustomed to.

Since I've been down here I've gotten to know Tom a little bit and his very kind and care free attitude. How he's like a ball of sunshine hidden in the depths of the water, or how he's always so optimistic with everything. He's really tried his best to get me accustomed to my tail by teaching me how to swim with it but I apparently look like a squirt trying to swim for the first time which apparently what they call babies down here.

I could see myself becoming very good friends with him, he hasn't really pushed the issuse of what happened to me or how I got here and I know its bothering him. Because every time he asks about it or when it seems like he's about to bring it up I completely change the topic or I will avoid his question. He's a nice guy and all but right now after everything thats happened I think it's best to keep him at arms length until I know for sure I won't be hurt or betrayed again.

He pokes at my tail "It honestly doesn't make any sense on why your tail is gold, because there are normally only three colors for our tails! So why is yours so different," He exasperated.

I remember when Tom explained to me that there are only the three tail colors, and they each have different meanings and or different jobs.

"I still don't understand why your tail is gold, it's really starting to baffle me."

"Well you're the only fish person I've seen since I've been here so is it really not that common?" I asked.

Tom huffed and rolled his eyes at me "First off its MERFOLK not fish person. And it is actually really rare down here that its literally the only one I've ever seen, down here there are only 3 colors of tails which generally puts you into one of the 3 categories. 1st being a green tail which is the most common tail. When you have a green tail it means that these people are your every day normal people such as people who own the stores teachers or just stay at home parents. A person with a Blue tail like mine means that they are a healer and a baby blue means that they are a scientist these tails really aren't that common and only several people have this color. Now the most rare color is an orange tail it means that they are warriors such as guards or soldiers," He explained while making all these weird hand gestures. " We are all normally born with a purple tail signifying that we are still children, but once we turn 16 our tails will change into one of the three colors.

"Wait you said three colors but listed four you said two different blues so wouldn't there technically be four color categories instead of three?" I asked.

"No, not really we tend to just lump both blues together since they are just slight different shades."

"So you than you are a healer?" I said poking his tail.

"Yes! I normally work with children since they are normally the more fun patients," he smiles and stares off into the distant.

"Huh, well I didn't know that."

"Well Serenity that's because you refuse to leave this cave that you decided to make as a make shift home for the past 2 weeks, which by the way you really should come into town one of these days. Carrying all this food out this far is getting a little tiring," he glanced to the side and smirked at me.

I playful shoved him away from me, which in turn made him laugh like crazy. "Come on I'm serious! You should come into town with me. I have a free room with a bed in it by the way, and I'm sure my roommate won't mind you taking the spare room for awhile."

I tilted my head side ways "You guys have beds down here?"

He looked at me bewildered "Yes, why do you guys sleep on the floor like a sea urchin?"

I raised one eyebrow and looked at him "A what?"

He smacked his forehead really hard "A sea urchin," he said slowly "You know it's like a pokey ball looking thing they lay on the sea floor but are also found in the hold of rocks."

"I've never seen one before in my life, but no we don't sleep on the floor we have beds too. That's why I was surprised when you said you own a bed," I was trying to avoid eye contact with him and just chose to stare at my tail.

He sighed "You ready are something else Serenity. But seriously you should come back with me to my place."

I bit my lip an old habit I have when I'm feeling nervous "Are you sure I can come? Won't my tail attract a lot of attention with everyone since it's never been seen before?"

He ponder for a moment "Hmmm I never thought about that, maybe we can sneak you in at night, everyone is in bed to begin with anyways-"

"Wait why is everyone in bed?" I interrupted him.

"Well we have a curfew," He stated.

"Oh? Why"

He side glances me for a few minutes before he finally decides to respond "I honestly don't remember why."

You don't really respond to Tom you can He is hiding something from you but you can't blame him since you refuse to up up to him most of the time so instead you just give him a nod and sit in silence for a few more minutes. "Okay I'll go with you into town," you sighed

Tom throws his fist in the air as some weird sign of victory "YES!"

"Okay, remember you said you would be coming with me back to my place tonight so we will have to wait for sun down until we can swim into town."

"What about Sharks though? Won't they attack us and try to eat us?" I asked looking away from him.

Tom began to laugh hard, it was one of those hearty laughs the kind where he was doubled over holding his stomach with tears streaming down his face. "That's the funniest think I've ever heard you say."

I glared at him not really appreciating him not taking me seriously "I'm serious! I've heard stories about them before and they are very dangerous."

He continued to laugh for 5 more minutes without being able to look at me because every time he did he would just start laughing again so I just glared at him until he was finally calm enough to respond to me. "Sharks are literally the nicest creatures we have, most of them are to shy to even come close to us and land walkers, there are only maybe a few species who would attack us and even than they don't live anywhere near us."

I sighed in relief "Okay, I guess I'll believe you then and by the way we are called humans."

He grinned at me "Don't worry everything will be fine I promise we can get in without people seeing you, and even if we need help I know a guard who could help us out plus I know for a fact that my roommate wouldn't care he more than likely would want to look at your tail because he's a Scientist so it will definitely peak his interest once he's sees it."

I nervously chewed on my lower lip not liking the sound of that at all 'what if he puts me in a cage to study me, or starts to poke and prod at me with things that might kill me, OR what if he decides not to let me stay and forces me to leave what would I do than. I mean I guess I could come back to this cave, but what if he throws me out during the day?! Then I'll definitely be screwed!'

"Stop it Serenity, you're thinking too much about it," he chuckles lightly "I promise it will be okay."

I stare straight into his eyes to see if he's being dishonest, can I trust him? I've only known him for a little over a month but can I really trust him. I knew Sam for almost 6 years and when it came down to it he decided to save himself instead of protecting like he said he would, with a seconds thought. But looking at Tom sitting next to me with a dopey smile on his face I just have this feeling deep down that he's being genuine, but I still have to keep my guard up around him just in case but maybe just taking a little bit of the wall down would be okay.

"Okay, I trust you."
