Lemme just say this about Janey’s Dad… I absolutely love it when the reader is doing to pursuing! I’m usually into the whole “coy” thing, when Cooper takes control and initiates the seducing, and the reader is so overwhelmed by the seduction they more or less let things happen to them instead of doing the deed WITH Cooper. But…
It’s so so refreshing to read a fic where the reader takes the initiative and makes Cooper get all flustered, tells him “I know you want it too.” Because my personal headcannon, given from how flirtatious Barb was when they were working together, I got the impression that she was the one to make the first move when they met and her initiative was what turned Cooper ON. Yeah, he’s a tough ex-marine with a lasso and a gun, but that man loves it when he’s all buttered up like a biscuit.
Tumblr media
Thank you so so much for reading, I'm so happy you enjoyed it ❤️
I have so many feelings about Cooper: the man had literal heart eyes for his wife, ignored everyone else as soon as he saw her, and his love language is definitely touch so man is handsy inside the bedroom and outside of it.
He also gives me the impression that he's not enjoying it if the other person isn't, and wants an active participant.
Barb and Janey were/are his entire world and after the divorce/separation you can see the jadedness in his eyes/how he interacts with others at the party/etc.
He looks so disheartened and weighed down by the world and I wanted to explore how he'd be with someone younger than him showing an interest on the tail end of his failed marriage.
Also I love your headcanon! I can definitely see that lol.
Tbh he doesn't strike me as the type to like empty lip service and praise just because he's Cooper Howard but rather because that's what people actually think.
Case in point: the afterparty, man's only cared to engage when people mentioned his fave movie... that had his dog in it. He was trying to get through the room as fast as possible otherwise and seemed to dislike the attention.
Sorry rambling 😂
Anywayyy thank you so much again🥰!!

Being Rdj’s daughter and dating Tom Holland would include... pt.2
Tumblr media
Going on vacation together
Like A L L the time
But there’s this one time where you two join your family
Staying at a super extraordinary place cause let’s be real there’s not that much of a difference between Robert and Tony
I’m talking basically a full on house
Probably in Miami or something
You and Tom obviously sharing a room
Robert always keeping an eye on you tho
And like you and Tom using every private situation you get
Tbh you’d shower together
Him taking you out on a date where he prepared a picnic on the beach to watch the sunset together
Susan definitely helping him setting everything up
Robert and Susan probably watching you for a moment
You two being the absolute cutest couple
Posting pictures of each other on Instagram
You posting pictures of him making stupid faces
Your fans loving you for it
And you loving your fans
Aften reposting memes of Tom or your dad
Being nervous about meeting his parents
There being absolutely no need to
His parents adoring you
Getting along pretty well with his siblings
You often staying at his
He doing the same
Renting an apartment together after almost a year of being together
Moving to New York because you both fell in love with this city
Robert not wanting to let you go
“Dad I’m not leaving the planet”
“I know but your still so young”
A lot of the cast helping you two move in
Your dad of course but also Sebastian, Chris Evans and Dominic
Hayley helping you pick out decorations
Being completely done with building up furniture and installing everything after a week
Your Dad staying for another day
By the time you actually have to say goodbye you both would probably be crying in each other’s arms
I mean that’s a fact
Him calling you everyday to see if you’re okay
Feeling pretty homesick at first
But Tom always being there for you
Having many movie night
Cuddled up in a blanket together eating popcorn and stuff
And you have to imagine okay:
A big window that allows you to have a perfect view at New York
Seeing all the lights at night
And then sitting there on the sofa watching a movie or show
What else would you want?
Probably watching Broadway Musicals together too often
Always going out
This one time where you two went shopping and came home with way to much new stuff
Constantly going into Comicbook stores because
One: It’s cool there.
Two: Both being the biggest nerds ever and
Three: Making the Owners happy as well as the people who are in it
Discussing weather or not Dominic Cooper is the best Howard Stark imaginable
“Well just in case you forgot I am a Stark so my opinion counts”
Him just rolling his eyes at you
Watching Captain Marvel together and being hyped as heck
Like damn that movie was awesome
Both being afraid of Endgame
You ending up bringing Dominic to the premiere because Tom’s away filming for chaos walking
Watching it again with him when he returns home
Both crying over it
Being invited to the premiere of the final season Game of Thrones
Being hyped as hell
Spending days in bed watching movies and ordering food just to be close
Everytime you visit your dad you’ll go to Disneyland together
Your first vacation together being in Paris
Obviously going to Disneyland too I mean
You crying during the fireworks cause you’re so moved
Actually getting him to buy Mickey Mouse ears and you buying Minnie ones
Giving a lot of autographs
But not really minding it that much
Him taking your hand and walking in the castle with you
“Will you be my princess Lady Downey”
You laughing
“I’d love to be Sir Holland”
Like I mentioned before
You two being the cutest couple ever
Loving each other truly
I hope you liked this it would mean the world if you’d give this a heart and maybe tell me what you’d like to read next

Major Crimes: a boy’s tale
I admit, I got into watching Major Crimes because of Mary McDonnell’s outstanding performance in the first couple seasons of Battlestar Galactica. Just, yum. I’d watched The Closer fairly regularly, though had tapered off only to be sucked in again with the prospect of M. McD playing Kyra Sedgwick’s nemesis. Of sorts. And also, you should know that I’m a 40 year old lesbian who is always actively interested in watching well-written women, whether lesbian, bi, trans, straight--I’m down for a gal who tells a compelling story about women--focusing on the woman’s journey herself. So that’s my bias and I’m sticking to it.
What a great character Sharon Raydor was in The Closer! Gosh, so full of determination, agency--she came in as a foe, then subtly showed how she was actually a sleeper ally, working quietly behind the scenes to support Brenda Leigh, while vehemently denying this careful navigation of defense, prodding and cooperation. Plausible deniability.
Wasn’t it wonderful to see two adult women, both in command performances working simultaneously for and against one another, occasionally engaging in jaw-dropping snark--yet ultimately supporting one another, and furthering each other’s agenda? That dynamic: complicated adult women who work for each other, without fighting over a man, a job or invented jealousy--still so seldom seen. And that’s a shame. Because as an adult woman, I would so sorely like to see more of my own maturity, willingness to mentor and share success, ability to know what I can forgive, reflected in the fictionalized lives of women on both small and large screens.
So. We come to Major Crimes. And almost from the start Sharon Raydor’s character was...subdued? Even after several years it’s difficult for me to clearly say how her character was filtered down, yet it was. Gone was the fiery & impassioned tone, replaced with something much quieter and whispery. Actors need to learn and evolve their characters as they progress through their development--but from the start I felt like we, the viewers were being hit over the head with--She’s a Good Guy! Sure she battled Brenda, but she’s our new hero so we need you to Like Her. Except, I already did, and I think the viewing audience who was missing that point must also have struggled with how complicated Brenda Leigh’s character was. Because between the two, Brenda was the harder person to like, with dramatically more questionable morals/ethics than Sharon Raydor. Yet, there it was: suddenly Sharon is super soft spoken, super background, super supportive: the Martyred Mother. For such a nuanced show as The Closer, it felt awfully odd to have Sharon so overtly presented as likable, sensitive, soft and nurturing--when the entire trajectory of her predecessor had been built on quirky difficulty. And clearly, there was an audience for that. Now, yes, you don’t want Sharon to be Brenda Leigh 2.0. She didn’t need to be. She was already established as a much different person/personality in The Closer. No need to reinvent again for Major Crimes.
Major Crimes: I’m not entirely comfortable with the new Sharon, but I do love the ensemble cast, so I’m down for the crew. From the start it was designed to be more generously shared among the actors, less a show focusing on the brilliance of one team member. Yet, also from the start was Rusty. Rusty, a crossover character from The Closer, a vehicle to showcase Sharon’s motherly, nurturing nature. And bit by bit, Major Crimes became a show about men. Men and their journey, their trials, their hopes & desires. I find myself alienated from Major Crimes--not because I don’t like the characters, their give and take within their team: but because so very many shows are telling me stories about men, and so few shows are telling me anything at all about the lives, professional or otherwise, of women, especially women in their 60s who are still living dynamically, actively, who are engaged with their work, their family, their desires: but one where the focus is on the woman, not how those women relate to the world through their men.
Major Crimes is a good show. But it’s a show about Men. Happily, it features several gay men, as well as their straight friends & co-workers. But it has moved away from Sharon’s tale & quite firmly into exploring the lives of the men.
There’s renewed emphasis on Rusty, and also Rusty and his boyfriend, Gus. And now possibly about Rusty, Gus--and Gus’s new boss who is also gay and potentially making a play for Gus. So perhaps this season we’ll get to see young male angst play out more. Neat. Never see that on TV. And with Rusty comes his therapist Joe, and Joe’s involvement with the Major Crimes team.
There’s Julio and his desire to adopt--and now Julio navigating life with Mark, his foster child. We see much more of Julio these days in relation to Mark, not in relation to his squad. Is it interesting seeing a widowed Latino male on his journey to foster a child? It absolutely is! But it’s defo a male-driven plot line: man fosters boy.
There’s Louie’s relationship with Patrice (okay, this is the main relationship I’m rooting for TBH & I don’t actually ever get tired of Patrice/Louie screen time). There’s Amy’s relationship with Coop. There’s the addition of the New Guy Cop (What the hell is his name? Why is he there? What does he do? Why do we need this guy?). There’s Buzz’s large arc about the murder of his father and uncle, which has lead to Buzz’s story line involving the son of the man put in jail for that past crime. There’s Fritz Howard still looming in the background. And finally, there’s the entire Andy falling in love with Sharon story line. So. Many. Men’s. Stories.
Look. Are these stories unusual, compelling even? Sure, several of them are and could continue to be. Interracial marriage & older couples falling in love, single adult men providing father-figures for kids, young gay men navigating first love, abused children learning how to trust and open themselves to new families--all good stuff. But let’s not kid ourselves that Major Crimes is about Sharon’s journey or feminism anymore. It’s not the decedent of The Closer I’d hoped it would be. It has always been a new and different show. But I came to it as an adult lesbian who had been so happy to see complex, tricky women so well represented. And now I get all these mens on my screen, and when I do get a new female character, it’s the disappointing Winnie Davis, falling into every old trope of Women Who Can’t Get Along. And wow. Wow, is that disappointing.

the relationship between tony and howard fucks me up a lot, especially since you don't really find out how bad it actually was unless you're down with the comics.. and im not American so i was introduced to marvel through the iron man movie, and obviously i was curious about Tony's past, and the way he gets betrayed by father figures so i dug deeper and I haven't stopped defending him since. Im so upset about how he always gets fucked over by marvel, either in the mcu or the comics
I have so many feelings about Howard Stark. Like, SO MANY. I’ve found that I always have to differentiate between when I’m talking about MCU Howard Stark and Comic Book Howard Stark because my feeling are so mixed up.
Dominic Cooper did an amazing job as Howard Stark in CATFA and in Agent Carter. Watching him as Howard Stark it was easy to see how this man would one day be the father of Tony Stark because they were similar in certain ways. Their mannerisms and certain aspects of their personalities were similar. And because Dominic Cooper made Howard so charming he was a likable character, which caused me a lot of consternation when watching Agent Carter because I knew what Howard was like as a father in the comics. I already had an opinion on Howard Stark as a character and it didn’t match what I saw on TV. I actually had a situation a couple months ago where I said I hated Howard Stark and had to distinguish that I was talking about comic!Howard because I forgot that some people don’t know about comic!Howard, they only know Dominic Cooper’s Howard and were a fan of that character. Which is understandable, Dominic Cooper was a great Howard Stark. But he was also the Howard Stark from before Tony was born, which is a different Howard Stark from after.
In the MCU they don’t really touch on it, what Howard was like as a father. We get glimpses of the relationship between Howard and Tony in Iron Man 2 and in CACW, and while they aren’t downright hostile to each other, you can sense some tension in their relationship. There are two scenes in particular that I think about a lot in regards to MCU Howard and Tony:
What is, and always will be, my greatest creation… is you. from IM2 and the scene in CACW when Tony is demonstrating the BARF technology: “You know whats about to happen. Say something now or you’ll regret it.” “I love you, dad. And I know you did the best you could.” and when the scene is over when Tony says “That’s what I wish had happened.”
It always gets to me when I think about Howard calling Tony his “greatest creation.” I don’t know whether to be angry or frustrated because it could be taken two different ways: Howard thinks of Tony as just another creation, another invention, another machine, and that’s why he gets angry or frustrated when Tony doesn’t behave or act the way Howard believes he should. That’s why Tony and Howard butt heads so much; because Howard doesn’t see Tony as his own person, he sees him as another one of his creations that should just do what Howard expects it or wants it to do. So maybe Tony wants to do his own thing, not follow in his fathers footsteps and make weapons but he wants to create, he wants to make things like JARVIS and Dum-E and the bots, technology to help humanity, not destroy it. And when Tony expresses this it goes against what Howard expects of Tony, of his creation, so he sees that creation as a failure or a disappointment, because that’s not what he created this thing to do. And because Tony is a human being and not just another thing Howard made, he picks up on those feelings and they affect him. And that makes me so mad to think about.
On a more optimistic side, it could just be that Howard (like tony tbh) has no idea how to navigate his feelings towards and his relationships with other people, so he relates them to the next best thing he can understand: his creations. An inventor is proud of his creations, he has some sort of connection to each one of them, some form of proud affection that connects him to each one. So maybe that’s just how he relates his feelings toward Tony, this strange familial affection he doesn’t understand, but understands the closest thing to it. Which is frustrating because it means he cares about Tony (in his own strange way), but can’t express it correctly, so it comes across as uncaring or indifferent, which is what Tony picks up on.
Like I said, they don’t touch on it much in the MCU because, honestly, it’s never really been too relevant to the plot. So with so little information to go on, I could see it going either way. Because either way Tony ends up thinking his father doesn’t love him or never cared, and Tony ends up being neglected as a child.
The scene in CW, I just don’t know what to think. There’s obviously some tension between Tony and Howard in that scene, but there’s some affection towards his father from Tony in his recreation of the memory as well. “I love you, dad. And I know you did the best you could.” It could be that Tony does care for his father in some way. Maybe he matured a bit, understood his father more after dealing with everything he has in his life; Stark Industries, Obadiah, Iron Man, The Avengers, Ultron, etc. Or maybe he just pretended to care because he was showing a bunch of 18-23 year olds a personal memory and he didn’t want to air his dirty laundry in front of everyone. I just don’t know. What I do know is that when Tony says “That’s what I wish had happened.” I can’t help but wonder what really did happen in that moment. Did they have a huge fight? Did he just not say anything, and the last interaction he had with his father was giving him the silent treatment? I don’t know but I dread to find out, I think about that scene ALL the time.
So I have a double understanding of Howard Stark and I struggle with it sometimes. When it comes to MCU!Howard, I believe that MCU!Howard did care about Tony in his own weird, convoluted way, he just didn’t know how to show it so there was some miscommunication between the two as a result.
On the other hand I loath comic book Howard Stark. He’s an alcoholic, physically abusive, emotionally manipulative asshole who does not deserve any type of affection from Tony. I was almost relived when I found out Tony was adopted because it meant he wasn’t related to that dickhead Howard. I have yet to meet a single comic book reader who genuinely likes Howard Stark, he’s so terrible.
But oh boy do I haaaate comic!Howard Stark, man that guy is a bag of dicks, fuck him. Telling Tony he’s not good enough? Always comparing him to Captain America and only acknowledging his mistakes and failures? Sending him to boarding school at 4? Forcing him to start drinking at nine years old?? Beating him, slapping him, punching him, tossing him around??? Fuck that, no thank you, please stay away from the precious child that is Tony Stark, thank you. I. Hate. Him.

endgame thoughts & feels !!!
Im first thoughts so anyone who EVEN accidentally clicks on read more and doesn’t want to see spoilers even v accidentally so first they will actually read about my bladder rather than see spoilers
I STFG IRL I CAN GO MORE THAN 3 HOURS W/O NEEDING TO PEE, LIKE THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY??
BUT AS SOON AS I SIT DOWN IN THE CINEMA I NEED TO PEE!! I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO NOT PEE FOR 3 HOURS EVER IN A CINEMA, I CAN JUST ABOUT MAKE IT TO THE END OF A 2 HOUR FILM
AND THEN EVERY SINGLE FILM I’VE WATCHED IN THE CINEMA, KNOW THAT I NEEDED TO PEE FOR HALF OF IT AT LEAST
(LBR WE ALL KNOW I BOUGHT DIET COKE BC I’M A FUCKING IDIOT NEVER AGAIN WILL DIET COKE AND ITS LAXATIVE CAFFEINE TOUCH THESE LIPS)
so anyway
I did not have a gr9 cinema experience bc of fucking english children behind me (I had 3 hours also to decide that english children are particularly the worst, their parents will never just tell them to shush)
3D glasses wearing also is just distracting, maybe bc I don’t wear glasses, or bc they’re just dark? but lbr they put it out 3d first so anyone who wants to watch it w/o getting spoiled will HAVE to watch it in 3d and spend more money UGH
saw aladdin trailer though and tbh I can’t believe ppl’s outrage was over will smith when that was the least bad thing about it come on??? not bc it’s bad otherwise but it looks dull, like all these remakes are uninteresting af
*takes a pee break now*
okay actual film!!!:
- even though he’s really not my fave and Idc like most the time I’m glad there was a clint barton arc bc otherwise it’s just ridic he’s been one of the avengers for yearssssss but hardly had a sl except for us finding out he’s married to linda cardellini lucky bastard
- carol’s haircut made me gayer   so gay
- (was natasha’s red and blonde hair supposed to be like a mess or was it supposed to be like ~style in 5 years?)
- and yeah one of the only things I knew about the film was there would be some gay   and I am glad of that
- but as soon as I saw the hulk in knitwear in my heart I knew the hulk should absolutely 100% be the most gay!!! especially as they drew a line under him and natasha thank god (mark ruffalo would love to be a gay hulk the woke bastard we all know it)
- so anyway headcanon hulk is dating that gay guy
- it’s practically canon to me tbqh they just couldn’t fit it in (or I’d have peed myself)
- Thor was me in a half-apocalypse - kill someone, get drunk, grow a beard
- Tilda Swinton was there being embarrassing... obvs I didn’t see the Doctor Strange film (did anyone???) so I didn’t have to SEE that but then they were like eh no one cares about the thing everyone was calling racist then right? and put that racism in an avengers film THANKS (and then a japanese man got randomly brutally killed NICE)
- I also haven’t seen GotG or Antman films or that Spiderman film lol so there’s so much to do w/ GotG scenes I don’t understand (my pee break was in their stuff) but I’m glad Nebula and Gamora were in this the most though the Gamora stuff was still a mess and the time travel stuff w/ that??? fucking confused by it BUT I liked the Antman stuff and the trailer for the new Spiderman film looks good so maybe I’ll watch those!
- is Gamora back to dead now what happened to Nebula should I have paid more attention or were these genuinely confusing things? Im it was 3 hours I can’t remember what happened to ppl I’m least interested in
- RIGHT the scene then I loved the most perhaps was Thor and his mother??? I wouldn’t have expected this Idk but when Frigga called him a failure... and it was like harsh lol but mother b like that - but then she was like bc we’re all failures ;; and Idk I find that a lot more comforting than someone telling me I’m not a failure... rather than the truth of ofc I’m a failure but we all are and always will fail at things in life! that was fucking philosophical
- cap said ass lol
- the bucky mentions being like shook were like aw wow
- but then also peggy I love her so much seeing her even was ;;
- but actually then did make me mad but not for everyone else’s reasons but bc I loved agent carter ffs!!! and seeing peggy and jarvis then was like   but we don’t know what happened between agent carter and those scenes ffs??? and how did howard go from being dominic cooper to john slattery in that time like wow disappointing lmfao
- benny cumbers had like one line and all I could think @ it was his american accent is shit
- and then the srs stuff~~~
- the natasha and clint scene was then the most emosh thing about the film for me then like a seriously underdeveloped rship but you knew they were gonna fight over which one of them got o do that and I think, as the character who had the least left to give, it was the right one
- and of course it was the other character’s time to go as well like I expected it earlier even I would’ve been annoyed if he didn’t die lol sorry not bc I h888 so much bc it’d be the right time?? you can’t just keep milking a character until he’s a useless caricature he needs to have an ending
- thor’s ending was vaguey I thought he might go after jane I guess natalie weren’t interested though
- but valkyrie god!!! king she is the future
- hulk had like no end so will he still be in it
- the closure for hulk should’ve been he’s gay okay hear me out he’s always had the inner turmoil he’s always had two sides at war w/ himself then he accepted both and is both okay actually that sounds bi hulk is bi
- so yeah then steve also had to have an ending and lbr I was expecting him to die so even if I shipped steve and bucky 5ever I never thought that’d happen even though that’s bc I thought he’d die lmfao (I guess he will now~ at some pojnt~) but the ending was nice, Im it ended on a nice music and it was a happy ending???
- (I’m still mad tbh at not enough fucking peggy and Im sharon carter just ceased to exist I guess)
- other than a couple of sad bits it was predictable and a happy ending and that’s exactly what I want ffs except w/ some unpredictableness obvs!!!
- sam!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will love captain america 5ever whomever he be!!!!
- so then my biggest issue was actually where was more captain marvel??? thank god they didn’t make carol str8 I guess at least she looked gayer, fucking baby steps????????
- and wakandas ffs duh where were they all sobs Im the wakandas and carol are THE most badass lmfao but okay
- like bless the carol seen like peter like but how will you get over there carol lol um she can literally just fly over there easily come the fuck on but then all these women had to help her and carol just looked all ok awk I could just fly over there but this is nice Im I won’t ruin the movie’s girl power scene thx yall
- but anyway they are all the fucking future ;; I wish there was more of that and more hints of what to come but it was an end to old heroes obviously
- the new heroes gotta be gay though and bi all over the place
- hulk is an lgbt icon, to me and me only, thank you and goodnight
