DECODE is a song by American rock band Paramore for the soundtrack of the 2008 romantic fantasy film Twilight.
I chose the title "Decode" because the song is about the building tension, awkwardness, anger and confusion between Bella and Edward. Bella's mind is the only one which Edward can't read and I feel like that's a big part of the first book and one of the obstacles for them to overcome. It's one added tension that makes the story even better.
I was gonna cut this scene up to look at izzy’s initial anxiety/nervous looks when he just starts his song and then i realized that when he sings “la vie en rose” he’s looking at ed/stede. At first I was like, it’s showing us stede because izzy’s looking at him. but I actually think its showing us stede realizing that izzy is looking at ed, following his gaze to ed. because the focus goes to ed when stede looks at him. it’s also possible to read it the way i did initially, which is that stede looking at ed is just him trying to gauge ed’s reaction and express/share in his excitement about this izzy progression.
I know that izzy is nervous singing in front of the crew, but honestly I think at this point, he’s significantly more comfortable with his place amongst them, that this anxiety is primarily about how ed will react. He does relax more when he sees ed not looking disgusted/horrified at him, and then he can focus on dancing with the crew.
(I swear I didn’t intend this to become about edizzy I just wanted to see izzy’s slow relaxation into singing for the crew)
edit: also you can see izzy’s gaze slowly drifting closer to where ed (and stede) is, like hes building himself up to look at him before just going for it.
The funniest part about today’s impromptu lore was Eret saying "The reason I was adopting Fundy was because Wil had died, but Wil's back now, so Fundy has a dad again!" and chat immediately going “UHHHHH, ABOUT THAT...”
