Honestly if she had just given the code, Joyce and Hopper would've been able to turn the switch before the Russian Terminator showed up.

Like yes, I know. Plot, but fuck couldn't they come up with another hold up excuse? They really wrote in "Oh you know, the kids are all at the brink of death, and momma bear Joyce, and grumpy Papa bear Hopper need the code, but let's just make these two kids waste time by singing to each other, so that we could have Hopper in for season 4 at Russia instead of finding another in the moment excuse that would actually make sense like oh, I don't know, the radio not working, or the kids scrambling to find the code themselves, you know? A valid excuse, but nah. Let's just write in this scene even though it's so fucking random, and a waste of time."

They could've put in a Duzie moment before that, or even after that. They could've still have them sing to each other afterwards in the aftermath as a reveal that she's real. Like they could've had that normal scene besides having it in the exact moment where time is running really close. Ugh I forgot how annoyed I had been.

the barbenheimer experience i had was so funny i saw oppenheimer first and in a quiet scene we could literally hear ken singing in the theater next to us and then during barbie it when was quiet we could hear a fucking explosion coming from the oppenheimer screening

its true that romance amd friendship will not solve everything but. objectively speaking its very hard to get sad when you can say 'lets go get cake tomorrow okay' and someone will go get cake with you. like there is some good at least. you know
