Heyo I'm here to request that Male Reader x Winter King you wanted-
Anyways, can you write for a male Reader that used to be Simon and Betty's friend before the crown and the Mushroom War, who randomly shows up in the Land of Ooo? As in, Simon thought that they had died a long time ago, alongside Betty, but the Reader had survived through some odd means and got reunited with him?
Lol, if that's too much, then I'm sorry. It could be a fic or Headcanons, whichever you prefer!
⠂"ʏᴏᴜ'ᴠᴇ ɢᴏᴛᴛᴇɴ ᴏʟᴅ."⠐
⠂"ᴡᴇ ʙᴏᴛʜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ."⠐
Tumblr media
AHJFHJGSKHA HOW DID YOU KNOW I WANTED TO WRITE ABOUT SIMON?? I LOVE THIS WET CAT.
Winter King actually isn't this one, because I wanted to focus on Fionna and Cake ver. Simon
Male reader
Platonic/Romantic (I'm leaving it ambiguous, because I mean, c'mon. It's Simon.)
Type: Headcanons (With a drabble and oneshot mixed in)
Summary: An old friend shows up after a bunch of time-related shenanigans, and is finally ready to settle back down in Ooo. Though this sudden happening is quite a shock to Simon.
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
-You used to be an old family friend of Betty's, and met Simon through her.
-Y'all were really close, and they invited you over for dinner every other weekend.
-But one day, you just...
-Vanished.
-Everyone thought you were kidnapped, and Simon and Betty were heartbroken.
-However...
-Through some odd means, you were kept alive for a thousand years.
-It all started one weird day when you bought a little doodad from a garage sale.
-the next thing you knew, you were in a big yellow cube with a pink wall guy.
-Apparently the little thing you bought was an item from another universe, and it was janking up Ooo.
-Aaaaand technically you just committed a serious crime by purchasing the little thing.
-And whether intentional or not, you now had to go on trial for this little accident. You tried to explain what happened, but you were found guilty.
-You were sentenced to a thousand years in some donked up time jail.
-Apparently, you wouldn't age in there, and a thousand years would pass on Ooo before you were set free.
-It was the worst thing that could've ever happened to you.
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
-The time jail kept you from losing your sanity, and a thousand years later, you were released.
-You were teleported back to Ooo, which looked quite different than how you remembered it.
-It felt like an eternity since you've seen rolling green hills and a clear blue sky. An eternity since you've breathed familiar air.
-You heard something, about a hundred yards from you.
-You approached the loud noises to see some buff dude with a sick beard and robotic arm beating up some one-eyed monster.
-He punched the creature, and it was sent flying towards you.
-You ducked, and the dude noticed you.
"Ah, sorry man! Didn't see you there!"
-You assured him it was nothing.
"You're not from around here, are you?"
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
You shook your head, then blinked confusedly. Well, technically you were. It had just been 1000 years. You tried to get your story straight, then told the guy.
"Woah, so does that mean you're technically a time traveler?"
You shrugged. Time travel hadn't been proven yet, has it? You weren't sure. You asked the guy his name, so you didn't have to refer to him as just 'the guy.'
"Oh, yeah. Name's Finn. Good ol' Finn the H."
"The H.?"
"Y'know, the Human?"
But you were human too. With all due respect, you asked him about his strange surname.
"Oh, uh.. My real last name is Mertens, but I like 'the Human' better. It's only recently other humans have started living in Ooo. So I'm kinda seen as 'that one human' y'know?"
You nodded, trying to make sense of what he said. what had happened that caused humans to leave Ooo? How was that even possible?
The two of you talked for a short while, and you learned a little bit about Ooo. You were used to knowing a lot, but you barely even recognized this place.
"Oh, you're from the 20th century, right?"
You nodded.
"I've got a friend from then, maybe you'd like to meet him? He's one cool dude."
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
-You agreed politely, wondering if this 20th century man would help you adjust to life in whatever century this was. What century was this anyway? 30-something?
-Finn ended up taking you to a scrappy little bar filled with people that looked to be made out of candy.
"Anything you'd like to order?"
"Nothing for me, Dirt Beer Guy. Maybe he'd like one, but we're just waiting for-"
⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂⠂
"Simon?"
You stared in disbelief at the face of your old friend, who looked at you with the same expression. He was carrying something under his arm, but he dropped it in shock.
"No way, you know him? That's awesome!"
Simon slowly walked up to you, as if afraid you'd disappear at any second. Tears welled up in the both of your eyes, and you had to suppress breaking down right there. It hadn't occurred to you that this 20th century man could've been Simon, but now that you were seeing him, you realized you subconsciously wished it would be him.
He spoke your name softly, not much more than a whisper, as if anything louder would cause reality to shatter, or one of you to wake up from a dream.
"You... You're really here, aren't you?"
You nodded softly, not daring to say a word. Tears spilled out of your eyes, and Finn looked slightly confused.
"Do you guys, uh.... Wanna step out for a minute?"
You agreed, still quietly, saying it would probably be better to not make a scene. Finn gave you a thumbs up and shooed you out, saying he'd wait for you when you got back inside.
You stepped out of the little bar with Simon, realizing it got dark out while you were inside.
"So..."
"How about we take a walk?"
You nodded, falling into step with Simon as you walked into a nice little forest. The small stream rushing by provided ambient noise.
"How are you here..?"
Simon asked, with an air of disbelief. He blinked, wiping his glasses and rubbing his eyes. As if you'd disappear once he'd open them. You explained what happened, and suddenly gasped.
"If you're here, that means Betty must be here too, right? Where is she?"
Simon sighed, bringing his arms up to hold himself.
"She's..."
"She's not."
You decided not to pry, but you couldn't help but notice the sinking feeling in your gut. She was one of your best friends, and she was gone. But she was Simon's fiancee. It must have hit him harder, whatever happened to her. You'd ask later, when the emotional turmoil between the two of you wasn't so fresh.
You walked in peaceful silence between the two of you, listening to the sounds of the stream, or chirping crickets.
You took that time to study Simon, how his appearance changed, and things that stayed the same.
Same fashion sense,
same goofy circle glasses,
even the same walk you remember.
There was a white streak in his hair now.
Wrinkles on his face.
Something about him just seemed so...
Sad.
"You've gotten old."
Simon smiled, though it seemed bitter.
"We both have."
"I missed you, Simon. Not a day went by that I didn't think of you, Betty, or any of our other friends."
Simon stopped walking, and you copied. He seemed as if he was about to cry again. To be honest, you were too. Talking about all of this while looking him in the face didn't fare well for your emotional state.
He took off his glasses, wiping at his eyes. Simon smiled bitterly through it though. He seemed to be so lonely. You wondered where he lived now.
". . ."
He wiped his eyes again, then looked straight at you with an unwavering gaze.
"You have no idea how much we missed you. Even years after you disappeared, we still looked. Even when the police failed, we still-"
He inhaled sharply, breath shaking. He turned his head away, as if ashamed of his emotions.
You placed your hand on his shoulder, trying to provide comfort. Simon suddenly wrapped his arms around you, pressing his face into your shoulder. You returned the embrace, holding onto him just as tightly.
Simon's breath shook, and you softly rubbed his back. You had no idea what he's gone through, and you were genuinely unsure whether you were helping or not.
"Simon..?"
His grip on you loosened, and he looked up at you.
You said nothing else, but you gently rested your forehead on his. He sniffed, then took a deep breath. Your hands fell to his waist, while his rested on your shoulders. Simon closed his eyes, cherishing this small bit of comfort.
After a few moments, Simon pulled away, bringing his fist up to his mouth and clearing his throat.
"W- well, today was certainly... Eventful."
You laughed softly, agreeing with his remark. The two of you walked back to the little bar, realizing you'd gotten farther from it than you thought you did.
Simon cleared his throat yet again, once you reached the outside of the bar.
"Yeah, Simon?"
He thought for a moment, then spoke.
". . .Thank you."

Outfits and Naps
Tumblr media
Spencer Reid x FTM!Reader
FEM-ALIGNED DNI - You will be blocked if you interact with this post. This is made for trans men/mascs, not women.
Reader is bored at home, not having much to do. He decided to try on some outfits he bought earlier, and then falls asleep.
Warnings: Mostly focused on Reader. Slightly feminine outfit mentioned. Dysphoria is implied if you squint really hard. Practically just a random drabble I randomly came up with. Reader has a cat because cats are very cool. Also, guys.. please don't sleep in your binder..
Word Count: 1.2k
Tumblr media
Spencer was away at work, so it was only you and your childhood cat (that you got at 17.. so more of a teenage-hood cat), Mr. Whiskers the 3rd (and since it was such a long name, you shortened it to Mr. Whiskers. Although you stated his full government name was Furball Whiskers the 3rd.) at home.
You didn't have much to do, it was a peaceful day and you decided you were going to order takeout for dinner when Spencer came home. So, cooking wasn't an option. Having set your mind to takeout, there was no way you could cook. You already knew what you were going to order, so you couldn't change plans.
So there you were, sitting on the couch, your cat next to you, sleeping while you were bored out of your mind. You pet him for a whole, sighing as you tried to come up with something to do. Calm days were actually really boring. As you thought, you scrolled through your phone, switching between apps trying to get an idea.
Maybe you could take a walk? No, too cold, and you felt bad leaving Mr. Whiskers alone.
As you scrolled through your phone, you saw this post which reminded you of some outfits you bought and wanted to try on earlier, but always put aside. Happy that you found something to do, you stood up, rushing to your bedroom, your cat soon following behind.
You threw your phone on your bed, heading to your closet and pulling out some boxes where you stored the outfits. You carried them and placed them on the bed to open and take the clothes out.
You decided to wear your binder while trying on clothes, so you knew how they'd look when you go out. You go get it, and put it on after a few minutes of struggling.
Now you stood by your bed again, your cat sitting in the middle of the bed, waiting for the boxes to empty.
“Which one looks better Mister? This? Or.. this?” You ask him, holding out a cropped turtleneck with the shoulders cut in your left hand, and a white, sleeveless button up shirt in your right.
Mr. Whiskers turned his head to the left, sniffing the air a bit, which had made you think he chose the turtleneck, but then he turned his head to the right, so you thought he changed his mind. Finally, he just spun around in a circle trying to get comfortable on your bed before lying down and not picking anything out for you.
“Thanks..” You mumble, wondering why you even bothered asking a cat for help. You decided you would try both of them, hoping to style them for future use. You set the button up shirt down and put on the turtleneck. You had to find a nice pair of pants now.. which was difficult because you knew this turtleneck would look great with a skirt, but you weren't that comfortable yet.
Finally, you decided on a pair of black jeans, because you couldn't figure out what else to wear. You thought you looked nice, and snapped a mirror selfie of your newly created outfit and sent it to Spencer.
That's how you spent your afternoon, mixing and matching different shirts and pants, trying out different outfits, taking pictures, and sending a few to your boyfriend, asking for his opinion.
Not that he was helpful, that man said you looked absolutely stunning in each outfit you created. And also he usually stuck with sweater vests and slacks.. so he didn't really know he was supposed to help with.
You gave up after his third, “They both look great.” and his second “It’s you, anything looks good on you.”
Obviously, he wasn't helping, so you just sent him pictures of what you decided looked better, which he still enjoyed.
Finally, you tried out all the new clothes you got, and managed to style each of them. You put everything away, and sat on the bed, telling yourself you were only sitting to think of something else to do, but instead ended up laying down and falling asleep.
Spencer opened the front door, and was surprised when Mr. Whiskers didn't rush over to sniff and inspect him. “Y/N! I'm home.” He called out, closing the door behind him, only to be met with silence. Puzzled on why he arrived home to be met with a quiet house and no greeting, he ventured further into your house. He grew slightly nervous, which was only normal considering his job, but kept calmed.
He walked into the bedroom, slowly opening the door, hoping you just fell asleep and the animals were locked in with you.
As he opened the door, he was met with the cutest view, and he felt his heart melt at what was in front of him. He smiled, taking out his phone to snap a quick picture before walking up to the bed.
You laid in bed, wearing a pair of your boyfriend's sweatpants, which were baggy on your smaller body, along with your binder that you didn't take off after trying on clothes. In front of you was Mr. Whiskers, which you held close, hugging him as if he was a plushie.
He had been asleep, but woke up when Spencer entered the bedroom. He only looked up to him, but stayed comfortably on the bed under his owner's arms.
Spencer couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at the sight, finding it absolutely adorable how you slept with your cat. He also saw how you still had your binder on and decided to wake you up, now knowing how long you had it on.
“Love. Get up, you need to get that binder off.” He shook you lightly, trying to wake you up in a nice manner. You grumble and shoo him off, trying to pull your cat closer, but he decided to get up when Spencer started to wake you. “Y/N, get out of your binder..” He insisted, shaking your shoulder now.
You groaned being woken up from your nap and shook your head no. “Mm.. 5 more minutes.” You mumbled, hiding your face in your hands, turning away from your boyfriend.
Spencer laughed and shook his head, finding your sleepiness amusing. “No, get up Y/N. Now.” He laughed, grabbing your arms and pulling you up to a sitting position.
As he managed to sit you up, he smiled at your now barely conscious self. “I was having such a good nap ‘Pence.. you should have joined me instead of waking me.” You mumble, leaning your head on his shoulder and wrapping your arms around his own.
“Sweetheart, as good as a nap it was.. and as cute as you look in my sweatpants and your binder, you shouldn't be sleeping with that on! Now go change, I'll give you one of my sweaters if you want too.” He smiled, pressing a kiss on your temple. “And then we can cuddle and nap if you want to.” He added on, knowing that'll be good enough motivation for you to go change.
You turn your head to look at him and smile, pressing a quick kiss to his mouth before getting up to change out of your binder, rushing so you could cuddle up with him.

hey!! happy celebration time bestie :) sorry this took forever, i got sick but i'm here now!
i was thinking it would be cute to do a blurb for steve based off these grumpy x sunshine prompts: (i love sassy steve, he's my fav)
having the habit of hugging them randomly
^ and when u forget to hug then, they just stand there like an npc, too cool to ask for that hug.
or they pull you into a hug without any words and wouldn't show u their face after
i feel like steve would get this attitude probably bc you're in front of the kids or something and he doesn't wanna beg for your hello hug but he also doesn't want to go without it. you can decide if they're in an established relationship or not <3 congrats again on 500!!
riley i hope you enjoy this cause i wrote this in two days. both times while at work. completely forgot the grumpy x sunshine part, but i feel you could see hints (let me know if you want a rewrite)
pairing: steve harrington x fem!reader wc: 969😏
masterlist / steve harrington
Tumblr media
you and steve are friends who’ve kissed a few times. twice while drunk, one at a house party and another while at a surprisingly packed hideout where eddie’s band played. there were three other times where you kissed but both of you were sober and it was broad daylight hours. however, the two of you weren’t a couple. haven’t really chosen when to have a proper discussion or just blatantly ignoring how both of you are just waiting for the next time a kiss could happen.
yet, when it comes to hugging, you and steve are a gross couple in love. always holding onto each other for a time that isn’t considered a friendly passing hug. sometimes you’ll hug steve from behind as a ‘sneak attack’, other times it’ll be a side hug with your arms around his waist and one of his thrown over your shoulder while waiting in a long line. or it’s where you crash into steve chest seeking his warmth as a safety blanket, even could be where the two of you are full on cuddling while taking a nap on his king bed.
hugs are something steve fully expects to receive whenever the two of you are in the same room, within reach or quick steps. so when steve sees you walk into his backyard for this pool party the kids forced him to have, he’s completely frozen when you walk past him and throw your open arms around dustin first. dustin doesn’t deserve to be in your arms first, that’s a steve harrington only privilege. but he allows it since it’s the twerps birthday.
steve just stands back by the loungers, watching as you sway the boy side to side, almost throwing the both of you to the ground. the two of you laugh and steve swears he gets a bit tipsy from the high pitched lilt.
you pull away from dustin and turn on a 180 to then pull bright cheeked max into a sisterly embrace.
“what the fuck?” steve grumbled to himself. his eyes never leaving as you pull each kid, one by one into a firm hug. and when you’ve given will the last one of the group, steve expects you to come find him next, but no. you see nancy and bounce over to her.
“mad your girlfriend ignoring you?” steve startles at the voice of robin appearing beside him. she was unbothered while picking chips off her paper plate. “jesus, gotta put a bell on you.” hand over his heart while side eyeing her.
“i’m not a fucking cat, drill bit. you're just lost in that smooth brain of yours while creepily staring at y/n. might finally put that restraining order on you.” sentence punctuated with her loud chewing.
steve rolled his eyes, “she wouldn’t do that. and she’s not my girlfriend. she’s a girl who’s a friend.” his quiet tone showing his real emotions on that claim.
robin hummed, “yeah. a girl who’s a friend that you’ve kissed five times and been to chicken to do shit about.” he glared at the accusation. she then pointed a salty finger across the pool, “who’s also giving eddie a nice hug and you're over here standing like a tree waiting for her to take the initiative.”
steve whipped his head at robin’s pointed location to see eddie with his right arm casually holding your waist as your left is over his shoulder. steve could only see the mesmerized grin of eddie and it’s making his head fuzzy.
there was a slight shove at his shoulder and it forced him to once again glare at robin. “dude!” she rolled her eyes, “stop being wuss and get your girl. it’s not that hard, you both like each other already. act grossly coupley in public, that’s why you’re always ‘oh, not dating’ bullshitting to strangers.”
“robs, it’s just… i’m- im scared…” steve trailed off while turning his eyes to the ground. robin’s hand touched his shoulder and she asked, “of what? there just needs to be proper communication and everything will come together.” robin squeezed his shoulder before boldly stating, “she loves you. and you love her. be in love together.” and she walks away leaving steve by his porch door.
that is until there’s two arms sliding around his waist from behind and something laying along his spine. he automatically raises his hands to fold over yours, ruffling your arm hair from his back and forth motions.
“was wondering where you were?” your voice is muffled by the way you're pushing your left cheek into steve’s skin.
he turns his chin over his shoulder, “i’ve been here the whole time. thought you were ignoring me.” trying to play the last part off as a joke, but he really did think you were ignoring him.
you gasped and moved to stand in front of him, “never. just wanted to save the best for last. and also i wouldn’t have to let you go after i got to everyone else first.” making your point while rewrapping yourself into steve. his own arms resting over your shoulders with his cheek laying on your head.
“i love you.” he blurted with such an ease that steve was a bit shocked that it was such an easy and true statement.
a dreamy smile on your lips as you replied, “i love you too, stevie.”
and his heart jumped a little faster, both from your silky voice and you possibly saying it in a different meaning, “no, not as a friend.”
“i know, stevie. i love you both as a friend and more.”
steve lifted his head away from your skull and you tilted your head up. the two of you stay held together as infectious smiles grasped at your lips and childish giggles spilled free.

The Tales of Ba Sing Se PART 2
The Tale of Zuko
Tumblr media
Maybe I should make a Zuko's Stupid Faces post.
Tumblr media
Zuko and Iroh's whole dynamic in one frame.
This girl is cute. Total girl next door type. She does have fairly horrible taste in men, but she's also very cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just want to take a minute to point out a VERY important distinction. Zuko is not going out on a date. Zuko is not taking a girl out on a date. A girl is taking Zuko out on a date. She's got that arm in a death grip. Not only is that a clever reversal of the usual hetero dynamic, but I'm convinced it's the only way Zuko would ever get any action, so it's also in character.
I know Zuko's social skills are non-existent, but apart from the blow up at the waiter he is actually trying. He's failing, but I have to give him points for trying.
The way this girl's voice actress says "You juggled" made my ears very happy. And the beleaguered "yes. I juggled." is equally good.
Zuko! Tell her you did sword stuff! That's something you can actually do!
It gives me hope that someone so steeped in the most toxic parts of the Fire Nation, for so long, can STILL be so bad at lying, but it would certainly be a handy skill right about now.
Tumblr media
I take it back. This girl does have good taste in men. Zuko's such a softie when it counts. He still sucks at being normal, but he just risked his identity because the girl he didn't even plan to go out with was a little bit sad.
This girl is the best.
Ha! He kissed her back! He Did! I saw that!
Tumblr media
I take back what I took back. Zuko's evil again. He made my new favourite girl droop.
I love that Iroh's waiting up for him while making it look like he isn't waiting up for him. How many times on their ship, when Zuko was out Blue Spiriting, do you think Iroh found a reason to be randomly sat on the deck at 3 am?
Tumblr media
Character development baby! Can you really call yourself loyal to the fire nation if you admit to having a good time on a date with an Earth Kingdom girl?
The Tale of Momo
Tumblr media
Pretty.
That was a FILTHY bait and switch. For one shining moment, I had Appa back.
Tumblr media
They should take that to June.
Tumblr media
Not Appa.
Tumblr media
Also not Appa.
I did not have 'Momo gets gaslit' on my Avatar Bingo card. Nor did I have 'interspecies animal friendship angst.'
Are these cat things the raccoons of the Avatar universe? Or the squirrels? Urban scroungers?
Tumblr media
I love the idea that this guy just grabs the closest squirrel, sticks a hat on it, and expects it to dance. He got lucky with Momo.
Tumblr media
I thought they were taking the animals to the pound, but this is very much a butcher. Which means that in Ba Sing Se, they eat varmint. Stay away from the hot dog carts.
That's very effective Simglish.
Thank god for thumbs.
Tumblr media
Aw they're friends! This has Aristocats vibes, when O'Malley and the girl cat are getting together near the end.
Tumblr media
And one final Fuck You, because god forbid Momo's tale ends on a happy note.
I'm guessing that's an Appa print, but couldn't it also be a platypus bear?
Tumblr media
Something about the cats standing vigil over Momo's grief gets to me.
Final thoughts
I'll go through each of these stories individually, but first some general comments.
Last episode was kind of intense, and definitely ended on a downer (not that this one didn't), so it was a good call to at least start this episode off on something a bit gentler.
I was really impressed with the soundtrack throughout. Apart from the Tale of Momo where it's the animal noises that are front and centre, the music is doing a lot of work in every story, the strings especially. The strings are doing emotional work, plot stuff, and even humour. Seriously, next time you rewatch this episode, pay attention to the strings. These shorts are actually very light on dialogue (apart from Sokka's), but they don't feel that way because the music is doing the talking.
I'm assuming that this all took place over three days at least, since Iroh, Zuko, and Momo's tales seem to end on different evenings. So I don't think calling this episode 'day in the life' is accurate. My bad. It also occurs to me that this kind of episode format would be a great way of showing time has passed. If they had had an episode like this in the Northern Water Tribe - after Katara beat the crap out of Poophead but before the Fire Nation attacked - I would have liked the pacing of the whole finale arc better.
On to the stories!
The Tale of Toph and Katara
It might be because I didn't understand what this episode was doing yet, but this one didn't do much for me. It was good to see Toph have a moment of self-doubt, but I never would have assumed, based on her previous behaviour, that her appearance was her proverbial weak spot. Katara did a really good job at building her back up, and she was delightfully (and appropriately) understated for once. When she's reassuring Aang of something (especially in Season 1) Katara tends to got from 0 to 60 very quickly, so it was nice to see her be reassuring in a quiet, non-steamrolling way. Is this Katara character development? Apart from the fact that Toph quite literally got her eyeballs sanded, nothing much in this episode stuck out to me. Except those bitchy voices. Those were like knives in my brain.
The Tale of Iroh
So many questions! Is Lu Ten buried in Ba Sing Se? How is that grave not defaced yet? How did Iroh get a copy of his son's picture? They lost everything at the North Pole, right? Did he ask the people who got him their passports for a picture of his son too? Does Zuko know/remember that it's his cousin's birthday? If so, why isn't he there offering Iroh the world's most awkward hug? Given the fact that Iroh spent the whole day helping people, including a very misguided youth, and given that Iroh says something along the lines of "if only I could have helped you [his son]" does this imply that Lu Ten was going through a crisis at the time of his death? Was he misguided like the wannabe mugger? Is Zuko not the first Fire Nation Prince that Iroh has had to guide through an identity/existential crisis? Is Zuko going to be the first time Iroh succeeds at guiding a Fire Nation prince through an identity/existential crisis? Does Iroh live in perpetual fear of failing Zuko the way he seems to believe he failed his son? Am I reading too much into this?
To be quite honest, this story would have hit me harder if I had remembered going into it that Iroh had a son. Lu Ten takes being a textual ghost to a whole new level. Also the 'In honor of Mako' text confused me. And worried me a little.
The Tale of Aang
I liked this one! Aang can't help Appa at the moment, but he can help all the Appa stand ins who aren't fortunate enough to have an Aang to help them. Aang is a nice little boy! Of course he'd free a bunch of animals without thinking about the consequences and the epic pile of platypus bear dung he's just landed the zookeeper in with the Dai Li. I liked the animal designs. I liked the earthbending. I liked the Siamese cat representation. I loved cabbage man. I think that, if Appa could have known, he would have approved. I also think that I'm once again reading too much into this. it was nominally a fun fluff piece elaborating on a established emotional conflict (Appa missing), which gave it just enough weight to be slightly more than a fluff piece.
The Tale of Sokka
I am entirely serious when I say that 'poetry bouncer' is my favourite joke so far in the WHOLE show. I love absurdity played entirely earnestly. It's fridge funny too. The longer I contemplate the implications, the funnier it gets. What past event required a poetry bouncer be introduced? He's not there to protect the students or the teacher; he's here to reinforce the structure of the Haiku by force. Was he hired by the concept of Haiku? Is Haiku taken so seriously in Ba Sing Se that he's needed to break up cat fights between students? There is a rich well of haiku-related hijinks just hinted at by his presence, and I want to know more.
Sokka is so often his own worst enemy that it makes sense that he's taken out by his own hubris. That fortune teller lady was absolutely a crook, but she did one hell of an accurate cold read on Sokka.
The Tale of Zuko
Credits tell me that the girl's name is Jin. I would like to congratulate the creators of Avatar for managing to illustrate romantic interest so palpably without resorting to heart eyes and steam whistle noises. Nothing wrong with those; I'm just impressed by how much of Jin's interest in Zuko you can feel. Also, she'd better be more than a single episode character, because I need more of this sweetheart. She's a real contender for displacing Toph as my favourite girl in the cast.
To be fair to Zuko, he did make Jin droop (UNFORGIVABLE), but it was also the right call. He can't date her honestly. It IS complicated. And I don't think any Earth Kingdom girl (worth dating) would knowingly go out with Fire Nation royalty. Jin wanted Lee the Tea Boy. Try as he might, Zuko can't stop being Zuko. I would argue that he shouldn't stop being Zuko. His flashback mom told him not to forget who he was, so I'd also argue that the narrative doesn't want Zuko to stop being Zuko either. I guess it's a case of right girl, wrong time. It looks like she's cool with him being a firebender, but firebending and being the Fire Lord's son are not the same magnitude of hurdle to dating. Maybe when the war's over they can hook up again.
The Tale of Momo
I think this qualifies as cruelty to the audience. I got the impression that this story was crafted borderline maliciously, to make the viewers suffer angst dump after angst dump.
I liked seeing things from Momo's perspective. I loved the animal noises, which really got across a shocking amount of emotion. Those, combined with body language, were as effective as any spoken script. These cartoon people really know how to use their medium.
It absolutely kills me that Momo is missing Appa, and since he doesn't understand human speech, he can't even be comforted by knowing that his humans are actively looking for him. If you've ever seen one of your pets missing another of your pets in real life, you know there's nothing worse than the helplessness that comes with not being able to explain or magically summon their friend back from the kennel, or the vet, or the dead. All you can do is give them hugs. I'm glad that Momo got a street cat support group at the end of the episode, but the animal grief at the beginning was hard to get through. It's sweet to have confirmation that Momo sees Appa as family, but surely they could have showed that to us in a way that doesn't make me need to hug the stuffing out of my own pets?
Final Final Thoughts for real this time
This episode wrings you out a little. Fully a third of the stories are about Appa, despite him not being there. At least half are about missing someone who isn't there. At least half are bittersweet.
I liked this episode format. I hope they use it again next season. Only Toph and Katara's tale felt too short to me. The rest did such a good job at drawing me in, that when I went back to check timestamps I was surprised by how short these stories are.
I'm going to go eat too much chocolate.

A Night Together
Summary: You accidentally spend an evening alone with Hotch and things go rather well.
Warnings: Some drinking, fluff🤭, mentions of cats and cat allergies, kissing.
Word count: 1.8k
A/n: I suck at titles and I know it sounds smutty but I promise it's not a smut fic lmfao. This has been in my drafts for so long now and I finally finished it. Please let me know what you think! Constructive criticism is great!
Tumblr media
"Hey what if everyone came over to my place tonight? We could make something for dinner, play games, and have a few drinks?" You suggested to the team.
They all agreed to a set time and seemed excited for what was to come.
"Great! I'll go ask Hotch real quick." You said and walked to his office. He had mentioned earlier in the day that Jack would be staying with his friend so you knew that if he did want to come you wouldn't be pulling him away from time with his son. You knocked on the door and heard a muffled "Come in." You opened it and stood in the doorway.
"Hey Hotch, I just asked the team if they wanted to come over later for dinner and drinks along with a few games. I was wondering if you would like to come as well?" You said the last part with hope because you really did want him over too. Honestly you had a bit of a crush on your boss. Which of course you knew was inappropriate and unprofessional but you couldn't help it.
"That sounds great y/n. What time should I be there?"
"Around 6:00 if that works for you. That's when everyone else said they would arrive." You said with a smile.
"6:00 is perfect." He smiled making yours become slightly bigger before you turned and went back to the rest of the team.
"Hotch said he will be there too." You announced.
They all looked to you and then back to each other. You could tell they were up to something.
"Oh sweetness I totally forgot that I have plans tonight. I'll pop by another time okay?" Derek said. "Uh. Yeah okay. That's fine." You replied and he gave you a smile.
"Wait don't you have a cat? I'm allergic to cats." Spencer told you. "Spencer since when are you allergic to cats?" You knew something was going on. "I don't know. I guess since I was born?" He said going back to reading a file. "Okay so you and Morgan won't be there. Anyone else that won't be coming over?"
"You know, I'm actually somewhat allergic to cats too."
"Emily what the hell are you talking about? You have a cat!" Okay this was definitely getting weird you thought.
"Yeah well I have been having some problems lately." She said.
"Actually, nevermind. We won't hang out at my place tonight. We can do something somewhere else another time. This way none of you have to randomly become allergic to cats." You said rolling your eyes slightly and going back to your desk. They all smirked slightly as they went back to their work.
You were out of there after about an hour of going through different files. Just ready to go home and have a quiet evening alone since the plans you had were now cancelled.
When you got home the cat was sleeping peacefully in the small bed you had bought for it. You put on your favourite film and got changed into some pajamas for your night in. It was around six o'clock when you heard a knock on your door. You stood up walked to your door confused because no one was supposed to be here. When you opened it you were greeted with your boss smiling at you. He looked over you shoulder, then back to you with a frown noticing no one else was there and that you were in sweatpants and a sweatshirt.
"Hotch? Why are you here?" You asked him confused because the hang out was called off. "I thought you said to be here at six? Did I hear you wrong?" His brows furrowed. Then realisation hit you. You never told him not to come. "You heard me right I just forgot to tell you that we cancelled because three of them bailed basically simultaneously. I said we could go out some other time but I just completely forgot you weren't aware of what happened. I'm sorry you came all the way here Hotch." You explained. "Oh. It's fine you don't need to apologise. In fact I'm sorry that it didn't work out." He said frowning even more. He seemed incredibly disappointed.
Then you thought, maybe he could stay. It may be sort of awkward but just the two of you for the evening sounded rather nice. Plus you still felt bad that he drove all the way here expecting dinner and drinks only to find out that he would be eating alone since Jack was staying with his friend tonight.
"Actually Hotch, what if we still eat dinner and all that? We can still have fun without the others right? I've got some games and we can watch television or something! Only if you want to though." You suggested.
It was entirely possible that having dinner and drinks with him alone wasn't the best idea when it came to keeping things professional between you and Hotch but you didn't really think about that when you made this suggestion.
"Sounds like a great idea to me y/n." He smiled again. You stood there for a moment admiring him in his black polo shirt before you remembered that you hadn't invited him in and that he was just standing outside your home. You stepped to the side so he could come in. He did so and looked around a little from where he was standing, not wanting to just start walking around your place because he wanted to be polite.
"Make yourself comfortable. I was going to make something to eat but if you just want to order in we can do that." You told him after closing the door.
"It's up to you really."
"Making dinner here could be fun. How does pasta sound?"
He smiled. "That sounds perfect."
Smiling back you made your way past him and into the kitchen to grab the ingredients. He followed behind you.
"Okay we can't let Rossi know that we made pasta without him. He would be very offended and tell us we probably didn't do it right." You laughed. "Yeah it's best we keep this to ourselves." He chuckled. It's probably best to keep this entire night between the two of you. The team would tease you both relentlessly and suggest something definitely happened other than just two good friends hanging out together.
Throughout making your dinner the two of you had some light conversation. Talking about Jack and how he's doing. A little about work but you tried to stay away from that topic since it wasn't generally something fun to talk about. You told him how Emily and Spencer are now allergic to cats and he said the same thing you did about how Emily has Sergio so what she said made no sense. You told him that's what you told her. As you both tried to maneuver around the kitchen you bumped into each other a few times. The first time was filled with apologies but by the fourth time you were both laughing over it.
You had opened a bottle of wine once the food was ready and poured a glass for him and one for yourself. Dinner was mostly silent with a few words here and there.
Once you had cleaned up you told him you could each pick a game to play. Leading him to a closet in the hallway you opened it to reveal many boardgames stacked on top of each other. Yahtzee and Pictionary were the final choices.
"YAHTZEE!" You yelled for the third time that night. The first two had been in the first round of the night which you had won. This was the first one of the second round. "How do you keep doing that?" Aaron asked with fake annoyance. "Oh you didn't know I have special Yahtzee powers huh?" You teased. "No, I did in fact not know that. I guess you learn something new everyday." He said going along with your playfulness.
After beating him four times he decided it was best to switch over to Pictionary.
"More wine?"
"Are you trying to get me drunk Hotchner?"
"No. Definitely not." He smirked.
"Mhm. I bet you're not. Pour me another."
You were both on your third glass of wine. If you kept going you didn't know how you'd be able to draw anything for the next game.
You had both been starting to feel the wine kicking in. About halfway through the third glass.
"Y/n how in the world is that a penguin? It looks like a blob. A blob with eyes. It looks like an alien blob y/n."
"What do you mean? It's obviously a penguin! I don't know how you can't see it."
"Y/n look at it! That is definitely not a penguin!"
You were both laughing incredibly hard at this point. Leaning on each other to keep from falling over. Eventually giving up on the game and deciding to start a movie instead.
Putting a comedy on you both got situated on the sofa with blankets and pillows.
You giggled and talked throughout it. Most of what either of you said was about something the characters did on the screen. You had gotten up to get something to snack on and when you came back you sat down right next to Aaron. Your sides practically glued together. Over the next 20 minutes he had wrapped his arm around you and you had moved your legs on top of his. Looking up at him you saw a big beautiful smile gracing his lips. One that you had actually seen most of the night now that you thought about it. You found yourself completely distracted from the movie staring at his mouth.
Aaron had moved his gaze to you. He saw the way you looked at him when you worked together and he knew how you felt about him. You had never told him but he picked up on it not long after you joined the team. He would be lying through his teeth if he said he didn't feel the same about you. Your feelings for each other had only grown as time passed. He wanted this and he knew you did too but he never acted on it because it would be unprofessional and could cause problems down the line if it didn't work out. Even if it did work out it could cause problems. You were both aware of this so you never pursued those feelings. Not until now.
You both leaned in slowly, giving the other the chance to pull away, but neither of you did. His hand moving to cup your cheek as your lips connected and even if it seems cliché it felt like fireworks went off. You moved in sync. It was like you were meant for each other. And you were.
After a moment you both pulled away pressing your foreheads together.
"I have wanted to do that for a long time." He told you softly.
"Me too Aaron. I've wanted that since the first time I met you."
"This could have consequences in the future y/n. It's unprofessional and could create complications with our job."
"Aaron I don't care about the possible consequences or complications. We both want this and we can make it work. This is something I'm committed to."
"Good. Because I am too."

Aaahhh, thank you so much for the tag @king-a-queen!! 💚💚
15 Questions Tag Game
01 - Are you named after anyone?
First name: nope Second name: yep, after my grandma
02 - When was the last time you cried?
About a week ago bc I was laughing too hard Also techinically this morning. My eyes just started tearing up a bit while I was still in bed & staring against the wall. I guess that white wall was just tugging at my heartstrings
03 - Do you have kids?
The only children I have are my OCs <3 My current beloved OCs are Aym, Marchosias (💖💖💖💖💖), and Baal; all for Obey Me
04 - What sports do you play/have you played?
So as a kid, I took MSE (self-defense) classes, I did ballet for a short while, and I played badminton. But now I'm not really doing much sports anymore. I'm occasionally working out in a sad attempt to stay healthy but that's...not working out all that well because I keep forgetting about it lol. That being said, I walk anywhere as long as it's a walkable distance away (to me, that's around 90min max), idc it's the European mindset. Der Fußbus hält überall :)
05 - Do you use sarcasm?
As if I would ever smh what are these accusations
06 - What is the first thing you notice about people?
When I pass strangers on the street, I try to look for little moments that bring them joy. That being said, 90% of the time I'm just lost in my own thoughts & have completely tunnel vision, so imagine noticing anything 😭 When I first meet people tho, it's usually the way they look at you, which tbh is a little ironic because I sometimes just cannot look people in the eyes NFDHSKGJHKSDLGS
07 - What's your eye color?
They used to be blue, but now they're more of a greyish green with a few brown spots in them
08 - Scary movies or happy endings?
Okay endings, actually! Where characters don't get the happy ending they were hoping for, and some things are still a little messy, but all in all things are okay and they finally get to breath again. Though I guess that's kind of a happy ending? lol
09 - Any talents?
My newest talent is being able to imitate the cry of an owl. My sister explained it to me earlier & once I got it to work I've been doing it non-stop until I got lightheaded 😭 Worth it tho Other than that, being able to teach myself the basics of a lot of things within a day (one of the upsides of ADHD), as well as abandoning a lot of my projects after a while because I suddenly decided to start a completely different one (one of the downsides of ADHD) I also have a real talent for writing angst. Ask any of my closer mutuals, I keep terrorizing them with my ideas (love you guys 💖) And finally: telling myself that I'll go to sleep early & then it's 5am
10 - Where were you born?
in Germanyyy fun fact: I was born more or less close to a town that has a store called 'Mephisto' lol
11 - What are your hobbies?
being insane, obviously 💚 some of my mutuals can surely attest to that lol No, but in general I enjoy writing & drawing, as well as, uhm. Randomly deciding to take up multiple really time-consuming projects, such as the OM card rec thing I did that I still need to update ahhhh, my Obey Me OC & MC ask game that originally had 200+ questions before I cut it in half out of fear of it being too long, half of my side blogs, and SOOOO many other things. <- or in short, being insane 💚 I also really love cooking & baking! Side note, if anyone wants an easy chocolate lava cake recipe, you just need to ask... 👀 Also lately it's just been romancing Thanatos in Hades because I randomly remembered that I hadn't done that yet
12 - Do you have any pets?
I used to have clownfish and a starfish, but other than that I've never had any myself. I love the dogs I dogsit with all my heart tho, and there is this cat that I sometimes meet on my way to work. She always runs up to me when she sees me and won't stop meowing until I start petting her, and last time she climbed onto my lap (I sat down in the middle of the sidewalk, I did not care lmao), she's literally the sweetest 😭😭 I also ring the doorbell for her whenever it rains so she doesn't have to stay outside lol
13 - How tall are you?
1,68m or 5'6 if I got the conversion correct lol
14 - Favourite subject in school?
Heavily depended on the teacher, but generally art class because we usually got to work on whatever we wanted with and listen to music. Also English in 9th grade, math in 10th and German in 11th because the teachers were great
15 - Dream job?
I've been thinking of translations in general/software localizition for a while now. I just love dissecting all the small differences between languages (D.D.D.s being called 'D3' my beloved), + there are so many invisble choices made when translating. You'll always lose something because every language has its little quirks and a different mindset that can't be translated directly, but you'll also gain something that the original version didn't have. It's an art form in itself, and I really love that <3 The other job that keeps popping into my mind is event mangement. I already get to organize a ton of things for my uni since I'm part of the student council for one of my two majors. It's exhausting, but also really rewarding when you have people come up to you afterwards to tell you how much fun they had!
No pressure tags for a bunch of people, hehe >:) @alpine-forget-me-nots @healersadjust @misc-magic @sweetbrier2908 @reblogs-are-the-love @shootingstarrfish @mjoria @too-much-gacha @layphie @katboykirby @ghostlyyraccoon @lost-in-lamentation @bagofwetmice @glamphantasm @wizardthesai @mellonyheart @arlatthan as well as anyone else that wants to join!

kitty kat ⋆ shen ricky
Tumblr media Tumblr media
◜✧◞ SYNOPSIS ─ in which ricky realizes he might be in love with his best friend after all.
◜✧◞ PAIRING ─ shen ricky x male!reader
◜✧◞ GENRE ─ fluff.
Tumblr media
"y/n my eye itches".
"stop moving or i'll accidentally poke you".
ricky scrunches his nose as y/n completely focuses on doing his eyeliner, ignoring his complaints which come up every two seconds.
"ricky i swear to god" y/n grits his teeth, biting his bottom lip. "i need you to stay still before you end up having ink in your eye".
"when you agreed to help me i didn't think you meant threaten me" ricky comments, and y/n rolls his eyes.
"your lucky" he states. "you have pretty eyes".
ricky resists the urge to blink, he can't because then y/n will kill him. "what does that have to do with anything?"
"they're perfectly shaped for this kind of thing".
"that's a pretty weird compliment.."
"take it or leave it kat".
that was the nickname y/n had given him when they were younger, stating that ricky was pretty much identical to a cat. no one really got the nickname, since ricky only allowed y/n to call him that, it was like their little thing.
ricky would never admit that he liked seeing y/n up close much more than he realized, with y/n's focus on doing his eyeliner, he could simply stare right at him and it wouldn't be weird.
"what if my mom thinks i look bad?" ricky decides to ask randomly. y/n narrows his eyes, but simply hums as a small laugh escapes his lips.
"you never look bad" he responds honestly, finally moving away from ricky as he finishes. "there, you're done" he says, but ricky still doesn't blink, afraid.
"you can blink kat, it's okay".
ricky immediately blinks, resisting the urge to rub his eyes because he knows it'll possibly mess up what y/n just spend thirty minutes doing. "see? you look pretty, told you".
ricky feels his face heat up, which is weird because y/n compliments him all the time. he just feels.. different towards all the nice words y/n keeps saying.
am i going insane? why is my temperature rising? and my heart beating faster? he just called you pretty ricky what are you going on about—
"hello? earth to ricky?" y/n snaps his fingers, handing ricky a cup of strawberry milk. "what are you thinking about? the event?" he inquires, not knowing that he was the one running through ricky's mind as he takes a sip of his iced coffee.
"um.." ricky pauses, not knowing if he should tell him the truth or lie. he chose lie. "just— a lot".
"no need to worry, kat" y/n says, smiling at ricky but staring for a specifically long time. "you don't even have to do much, your mom's doing all the talking anyway".
"i know i'm just.. thinking".
"maybe you should think a little less" y/n states, a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "focus on me, i have to take you out after the event anyway".
holy mother of god—
ricky felt like he was gonna combust. how could y/n just say that so casually not knowing how much of an affect such words had on ricky? he felt like he should've exploded by any minute now.
"fine, since you want my attention so bad" ricky mutters, not knowing why he felt so embarrassed.
"i don't want it i need it" y/n says with sarcasm in his voice once again, before ricky can even respond to such words, y/n took his wrist and dragged him out of the room.
"uh, y/n? where are we going?"
"i'm gonna take you to the event silly! i'm the only one of us that can drive!"
as ricky stares at y/n, doing the simplest of things, he can't help but just.. admire him, he looks so endearing even though he's doing something as simple as finding his car keys.
ricky's eyes go wide as he realizes.
oh shit, i'm in love with him.
now it all makes sense.

AITA for leaving my friend behind at a haunted house to be killed?
Me (20M) and my friend (20M, he's gonna be 21 soon) are partners for a paranormal investigation service. We got a weird call from a lady (?? no idea how old she was, or if she was even a real person) about her pet cat haunting her house and she offered us, like, a ton of money. Point is, when we got there, the house had really, really bad vibes and after two days there I was feeling extremely unsafe, especially since the thing was starting to seem like a setup by some demons or something (long story short, they can shapeshift and might've been pretending to be the lady on the phone to lure us in). My friend wanted to stay and keep investigating, though, which was putting both of us in danger the longer we stuck around.
He was the one mostly going inside, but even from outside it was just... awful. And then at one point he went completely radio silent for hours - thanks for nearly giving me a heart attack, man - and then finally randomly messaged me, like, oh, he found a way to unlock the door to the previously-locked basement and wanted to go down there.
We were already kinda pissed at each other because, okay, I'd been kinda joking around and "not taking things seriously enough" or whatever, but he hadn't said anything for HOURS, and now he wanted to go into the creepy basement that was definitely a trap set up for us??? So we got into an argument, basically told each other to fuck off, and I left him there. He's probably dead right now, because, again, trap set by demons. Also, one of them followed me and killed me. So, like, it's not like I didn't get the short end of the stick either.
Did I do the wrong thing leaving him there? He was being a huge jerk, and there's a chance he survived, I mean, maybe. AITA?

Class fight (A/N: that one scenario I forgot to send,,, sighs.... anyway part two tomorrow, w/ ruggie interaction)
Grace Chatte is the embodiment of her name, delicate and elegant personified, a graceful girl. That is how everyone would see her, her soft way to speak, her gentle yet outgoing persona, the confidence she would held up. People saw in her a Pomefiore girl. And the mirror could see that as well. Proudness involved around the room once she was set what dorm she would go. Bernard was slightly upset her sister wouldn't be in Savannaclaw, but, at the same time, it was to expect it.
At the end, everyone saw Grace as pure. Someone who wouldn't give the people around her a headche. The opposite of what her classmate would be.
For the other first year, Floyd Leech. His character would be known around to be more unpredictable, loud and even could be named as a class clown. Octavinelle saw in him a hell of a year. Not actually looking forward to have him in the dorm. As the energy seemed to be endless, during those irritating hours when he would manage to irritate everyone around him, even the older students.
And who would guess, both of them would become a problem?
Typically, during break time, Bernard and Grace would seek refuge from the noisy surroundings. Despite their differences, they shared a close bond, akin to the typical love-hate relationship between siblings. They would have lunch with each other, then go to their dorms' table. That was their routine.
But, when paths crossed with Floyd, things grew to be a weirder year, specially for Grace... Specifically for Grace.
He didn't say a word, but Grace could feel his gaze on her. Every time she glanced his way, he was always staring back.
Of course, Bernard noticed. So, he decided for her to safety, is better her for to stay at Pomefiore table close to her housewander. That maybe would keep him away. Did it work? No, it didn't. For a week, that would be her routine, Floyd would creepily follow Grace, unintentional or not, he would get closer or be close to Grace without her noticing.
Yet, it all began in a science class, of all places, where they found themselves paired up as lab partners.
"Floyd Leech and," Crewel was sat in his chair, randomly pairing up people. Of course, Floyd wasn't going to be with Jade. So, what about... "Grace Chatte."
Her blood ran cold as she turned her face to him, expecting his usual complaints. Instead, Floyd greeted her with a creepy smile. A sigh of relief escaped the redhead beside her.
Both Floyd and Grace made their way to their workstation.
The silence was easily cut with a knife.
"Um, okay, so, I guess we have to create…" Grace stuttered, struggling to maintain her composure. This was the same guy who had been following her all week long. What was his deal? "A poison."
"Really, guppie?" Floyd finally says with a tone of sarcasm. "I had no clue."
Grace pouted. He wanted her to act normal around him now? Seriously?
"I... I will get the materials."
Floyd hummed in agreement, resting his head on the countertop as Grace left him without another word. She walked over to the shelves, where she heard Crewel say, "I'll be back, I forgot something." Grace sighed, her fingers tracing over the labels as she searched for the one she needed.
Suddenly, she heard a chair falling behind her. Turning to look, she saw Floyd standing there, behind her, gazing at the shelves above her. Grace's ears dropped in fear. She turns her head back to the shelve, poor little scared cat.
"I think I've got it," Grace said, extending her hand to catch the item, but Floyd reached for it first.
"Got it," Floyd said, holding the item in his hand.
"What is wrong with you?" Grace whispered in disbelief, then returned to the countertop.
Crewel still hadn't returned. They both sat down, Grace diligently taking notes on the exercise while Floyd played with the strange liquid. When a sudden noise woke up the whole class that was in silence a moment later.
CLASH!!
"Oops."
Grace's eyes widened as the potion spilled onto her notebook, shattering it. Pieces broke and crashed into her lap and hands, leaving a small cut.
"What is WRONG with you, Leech?!" Grace exclaimed in frustration.
The whole class watched the situation unfold, and for the first time, Floyd showed a different expression—he was shocked. Well, everyone was; Grace wasn't the type to raise her voice. From what they knew.
“Huh? The cat bites?” A smirk shows up in Floyd’s face, his tone being mockingly towards Grace.
He can hears a low growl and a hiss, as closer he gets to her. And when his breath is in her face, a sharp nail cuts his bottom lip, making him almost fall behind. Grace used her nail to scratch him away. His twin watched everything in shock, trying to composedly hide his anger.
“Playing like that, are we, kitty?” Clearing his cut with the sleeve of his lab jacket. Floyd huffs.
“Freak.” Said Grace in disgust of his presence.
A shiftily movement from Floyd and both started to throw fists. Things only get worse when Grace gets bit in her forearm by Floyd’s shark teeth. Making her cry out in pain. Holding where it was bitten.
“Now, that hurts, eh?” Both ears and tail of Grace was lowered down. Almost violently shaking in pain. “What? Are you going to cry?” He approached Grace who had her head lowered down. “Going to cry for mama?” With a blink of eyes, Floyd was bitten as well. He growls in pain.
Both standing still holding for the bit marks in their arms. Quietly trying to calm themselves down. Jade puts a hand on Floyd’s shoulder, who clicked his tongue.
“What is THE MEANING, of this?”
Grace and Floyd were classmates who people thought would never get along. Both got detention that day. Crewel was shocked to hear Grace caused the issue as well. The news spread around quickly. Bernard was quite speechless about the situation, but she knew he wasn’t happy nor proud.
Vil disappointed when Grace arrived with the penalty was clear as the skies that night… Grace would lay down unable to think straight. She was… Quite the troublesome. And she knew it would be hard to erase that from her reputation. But, even if it took it all, she was going to make people keep their minds in her precious and cute persona.
As for Floyd? He could only wonder what he did wrong. He wanted to be friends with her, didn’t she understood his intentions? He would follow around for her to strike a conversation and talk to him. He would get closer to see if that way she would notice him and talk to him. He would annoy so she would talk to him… What did Floyd went wrong? Is he such a freak at the point she wouldn’t be his friend?
HELP THEY'RE SO CHAOTIC HELLO??? FLOYD HONEY WHAT U DID IS CALLED STALKING 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I LOVE THEM THEY'RE SO SILLY AND STUPID AND FUN AND TROUBLESOME I LOVE THEIR LITTLE ENEMIES TO LOVERS ARC... THE ACTUAL FIST FOUGHT I CAN'T EVENDKDHEODHSK($!"9$-#(#;$+ HELP?????????

ok overall thoughts so far on 03
I watched this at like 3 frames a second with massive wait times between buffering and so I didnt really get the whole experience. when I watch it again I might come back with more thoughts
mac becoming some kind of strange heightened victorian boy when he is nervous was great and I hope they do that again
the use of the chase utley vid was clever and satisfying for it to be finally put in canon
there were loads of funny moments in the individual curses - they clearly tailored them well to the characters. highlights being dee because im biased
though interesting that charlie didnt get a curse... they seem to be re-establishing that is the more better one of the group. which they have departed from and come back to randomly
charlie explicitly standing up to uncle jack was good but also very sad. like the looks he gave frank to try and make them not sit down
it had both the mothers! they seem to be kinda a staple of this season and im really enjoying it!
this was filled with stuff about charlie & bonnie ocd which was really interesting and expanded upon charlie's compulsions we saw in home alone
maureen wanting to be buried in the pet cemetery was beautiful I miss that cat
unfortunately though I think the episode suffered from some pacing issues
because they were trying to fit in so many individual plot lines and flash backs (which were all great btw) it was quite a complicated episode
and so there was quite a lot of heavy long exposition in the dialogue
and (some?) scene(s) got cut as a result
the burial scene being cut hurt the ep because it would have been quite a neat resolution without just lots of 'now let me tell you about how I solved my thing' (which we really didnt need)
anyway, I still really enjoyed it despite this!

Regarding your clown OCs: I have zero background in this, but what can you tell us about Thing, Sebastian, and Starshine?
hohoho OKAY SO >:D
I made an explanation post about the world here in case this is confusing, but basically this is a world where when a human clown dies, their clown persona takes on life as a full new person. Clowns are not human, but they're people; they have no memories when they appear, but they know whatever languages their human parent knew, so they know general definitions of most relevant concepts.
ok ok ok THING TIME >:D Thing is my baby darling precious little creature. I'm not playing favorites but Thing is definitely one of my favorites, you know? It does take some background explanation to understand, though, so buckle up:
There are lots of types of clowns in this world. Circus clowns. Party clowns. Medical clowns. Tramp clowns. Mimes. Harlequins. The list goes on. But there's also a type of clown that's a whole other thing, and that's Scare Clowns. Being a scary clown is like being a werewolf but for clowns; any type of clown can become a scary clown if they're bitten by a scary clown. (Ouch!) I haven't got all the details hammered out yet, but becoming a Scare Clown is traumatic and awful and completely ruins your chances of getting a decent job.
Thus, Thing. Thing is called Thing because it forgot its own name. It's been a scary clown for a long time. Its clothes are ratty, its hair is matted, and it eats raccoons. (and other things, but the raccoons thing becomes an in-joke, I think.) It's homeless, of course. It gets rescued and befriended by Rudy, a lovely optimistic birthday clown, and slowly grows more like a person and less like a feral cat. I love Thing <333
(eventually Rudy figures out Thing's gender, I think, but uh. clowns don't have reproductive systems, and Thing referred to itself as an "it" for a while, so Rudy didn't know. and I haven't decided yet.)
Sebastian and Starshine!!
Sebastian is a Pierrot, one of those black-and-white romantic clowns you see sighing wistfully over things with those big black poofs on their front. Do you know what I'm talking about?? oh well, this is going to be long anyway, I'll just give you a picture:
Tumblr media
Sebastian had an unusual situation when his parent died. His family, the mother and brother of his parent, kept him with them and tried to get him to assume the identity of his human parent (Jean Sebastian). They thought he would eventually develop Jean's memories. They Were Wrong. But they sure caused Sebastian a lot of grief trying to make him be Jean.
Starshine!! Starshine's parent died as a teenager; she was putting the final touches on the persona and makeup, so Starshine is what's known as "half-baked"—a clown who came from some form of incomplete persona. It's annoying to her—there's a star on her cheek sometimes, but not other times, seemingly randomly. Starshine works in a restaurant (she's a chef) and has a super cheap apartment. That's pretty much economically par for the course for a young clown. The family of Starshine's parent helped her out for the first few weeks, but she wanted to make it on her own and their grief was making her life really awkward?? Anyway, she's currently trying to decide if she can afford a hamster <333 I love her so much <333

WOO okokok SO-
Maybe just some tooth-rotting fluff with Baal? (post-Narinder freedom ending) So Yn is one of Narinder's highest ranking followers, but is really chill and energetic. What if, before they go the sleep every night, they go to visit Baal and bring like a little gift? Like a flower crown, or a snack? And maybe one time(the fic) Yn has been up for way too long and working way too hard, and just kinda... falls asleep mid-conversation?
(randomly falling asleep as a sign of trust, gotta be one of my favourite troupes ngl)
thank you so much for feeding my cotl addiction, have a wonderful day/night :]
You're welcome! Likewise I'm feeding my own addiction by writing haha
........
It was no surprise that Narinder's most loyal servants were also welcomed into the cult. Even though their master is no longer of godhood status, they would still remain by his side. Forever and always.
Or at least..that was the case for Aym and Baal for a short time. The Lamb mentioned Forenus' story to Narinder and, perhaps out of guilt, he decided to relieve them of their duties, letting the brothers reunite with their mother at last. Of course, they would still come by the cult if called upon.
The only one who made a home within this land was you, a much higher-ranking official bestowed with great powers. You still had those even now.
Yet you weren't all that intimidating compared to the other two. Heck, you didn't even want to fight Lamb when they refused to surrender the crown. But you stayed only to heal Aym and Baal after the battle. They were mortally wounded, though it was nothing you couldn’t fix.
As you’re arranging a flower crown made from camilia in the dead of night, you think back to that day and how Baal flashed you a slight smile of gratitude. He hadn’t smiled in centuries--yet it charmed you and made your heart skip beats.
Within Narinder’s realm, you were the one who always kept their spirits up with gifts and games of knucklebones. Even now you never stopped.
This gift in particular was for someone who adored these flowers. A guardian of death who found comfort in life.
So once you were finished, you looked around and didn’t see Lamb; Narinder was sound asleep in his shelter, so you decided to warp to Forenus’ home and visit the brothers. It took a lot of energy in the mortal realm, but it was worth it.
Upon arrival you immediately saw Baal cooking meat by the fireplace by himself and beamed. “Greetings, Baal!”
Despite your peppiness, tiredness was also creeping into you. Though you were eager to spend this moment alone with him. He was a bit of a night owl--or cat, rather--himself.
He looked to you with a light smile, seeing you sit beside him on the grassy ground. “Hello, [y/n]. What brings you here tonight? It's awful late."
“I come with yet another gift.” You presented the flower crown to him. “A crown of camilia. I know you always loved these flowers.”
“Indeed, I do.” Bowing his head slightly, he gave you permission to set it on top. You made sure his ears wouldn’t be flattened. And once it was on, he reached a paw up to touch it. “My thanks. Mother has vases of these everywhere. I don’t know how she got them, but..I’m glad she’s still safe.”
“I am, too.” You nodded. “You know, Lea--the Lamb could always fetch some for her. Did you know they picked some for Narinder when he first arrived in the cult? He was talking about Leshy and...I think he misses him a little bit.”
“That disgusting worm?” Baal lightly scoffed at the idea of his master mourning the people who betrayed him. Though he sighed and focused his attention to the ground, drawing circles in the dirt with his claw. “Hmph, Master has told us many stories of him..the worm was chaotic, his realm unruly and overgrown. But in it he created beauty...”
You listened to his rambles of Darkwood. It wasn’t long before the exhaustion of working many days and nights finally caught up to you. The fire in front of you two was like a comforting blanket, wrapping you up in its warmth.
Not to mention Baal’s voice was quite calming. You've known him for ages...yet you never got bored of listening to him.
He momentarily stopped speaking, blinking as he watched you lay down in the grass, curling up. ‘Did they..doze off in the middle of our talk?’ He pondered, though he could see that you indeed fell asleep.
One wouldn’t dare shut their eyes in Darkwood, especially with Narinder-knows-what lurking in the surrounding trees and the cultists going ballistic after the fall of their savior.
And to slumber next to him? This was most odd.
It was like...you trusted him to keep you safe.
All this time, Baal thought that pushing you away when you begged them not to hurt the Lamb was going to ruin your bond with him. He thought you only healed him and Aym as a favor from Narinder. He thought all the days you spent in your shelther were just you ignoring them both.
But as it turns out, it’s quite the opposite.
You’re still happy. You’re still thriving. Your toils birthed beautiful creations such as the flower crown atop his head.
And as Baal stroked the blood-red petals with such tenderness, his smile grew once more.

Disenchanted thoughts
~~~
So, not as bad as I feared it could be, but also not as good as I hoped it might be. There were definitely elements I enjoyed and will be cherry picking out of it but definitely also things where I was like… ehh, not sure how I feel about this. Overall, mixed bag.
Good:
- Edward and Nancy. Everything about them. It wasn’t as much as I wanted but I will take any freaking crumbs I can get. I’ve waited fifteen years to see this marriage, dang it. I loved every moment of their presence and getting to see them happily in love, and that Edward wasn’t portrayed as a total idiot that Nancy is embarrassed to be with, which I feel like totally could have happened these days. Not only did we get to see them as a healthy and loving royal couple (who sing together!!!!!) but we also got ANGST. Legit Edward/Nancy ANGST. They cared enough about them to give them a wonderfully fanfic-y, shippy angst scene. This movie was worth it for these things alone if nothing else.
- Giselle and Robert were adorable when we got to see them together. I wish there had been more but I’ll take what we have. I love that they’re just as in love and Robert is downright smitten, still after ten years together. The ending scene especially was precious perfection. And so so cute throughout with their little baby. Also, KIND OF A WEDDING FLASHBACK!
- Anything going more into the family dynamic. The memory tree scene got to me a lot in particular. I appreciated moments that were more grounded like stuff with Robert and Morgan or Giselle being called “Mom”.
- The music was of course never going to be as good or memorable as the original but I enjoyed it for what it was. Amy killed it, I liked seeing Morgan sing, I got my long awaited little tidbit of Robert singing, and Edward and Nancy are beautiful.
- As always, plenty of Disney references, some hidden and some not that hidden lol. And little blink-and-miss-it things like the Rachel Covey cameo and the adorable little Edward at the very beginning as it opens on Andalasia.
- Little scroll guy, my beloved.
Not So Good:
- Just not really here for the basic concept. Already by the end of the first movie Giselle fell in love with the groundedness of this world, didn’t particularly want to go home anymore, and wasn’t as naive or clueless as she started. In this one we have her pining for a perfect fairy tale for some reason (echoes of Steve Rogers randomly wanting the 40s back…) and not understanding things that she should absolutely understand by a decade later. I wasn’t comfortable with having Giselle make that wish and all of the drama that ensued. There was a lot of stuff throughout the movie that I was just… not comfortable about and felt awkward watching. Not a good sign if I’d change the basis for the whole plot lol.
- One of the things I was particularly uncomfortable watching was Pip. Having a different voice threw me off immediately (really, it can’t be hard to get a hold of Jeff Bennett, can it?) and it got worse from there. Everything with him as a cat and the way he spoke and was animated was just… a big no for me.
- WHY WAS THE ANDALASIA ANIMATION DIFFERENT. I want to be excited about finally having more animated sequences there but the experience felt very cheapened by how jarringly different it was. To go from beautiful, perfectly flowing James Baxter animation to a flat-feeling, low-budget-Netflix-cartoon type of animation that moves somewhat choppily and gives people exaggerated movements and expressions… why??? I don’t know if the department that did the original is still around, I know a lot of animation studios have gone out of business in recent years, but if they couldn’t still get the same as before then they could have at least tried better to emulate it. The Andalasia animation in the original is some of my very favorite animation in existence and I was so excited for more and just feel cheated instead.
- I wish there’d been more focus on the family dynamic. They were so embroiled in the drama of the plot that we don’t really get to see as much of them together. In particular I feel like Robert got the short end of the stick because he spent so much of his screen time under a spell so we got less of him just being him and less of his relationships. I love that the first movie has so much depth to the relationships between the characters and each of them individually, and while it’s not two dimensional here, it’s certainly not what it could be either. Like, we got to see more of them, but at the same time we didn’t really see more of them.
- No acknowledgment of Giselle’s business? It’s like it never existed and she had nothing to leave behind. Did she turn the company over to someone else to focus on the baby? (Speaking of forgotten things, I hope Nathaniel is doing well these days and wasn’t too scarred by suddenly beginning to die without explanation.)
- I know there are other things I’m not thinking of at the moment but there was just a general vibe of discomfort and “this isn’t right” peppered liberally throughout.
- On a lighter note, where was the moment from the trailer where Edward says the kingdom was once trapped inside a whale?!?! I need ANSWERS about that, Edward!!!!
~~~
So, mixed bag. I’ll be taking away emotional moments, cool looking moments (shoutout to Robert trying to stop the clock with the sword), and literally anything of my beautiful ships returning to me, but probably gonna ignore the rest of it. I would like this much better as a fanfic.

I guess with twitter falling apart, the logical step is to move back to tumblr, but I struggle with what to even post!
Twitter is kind of the LinkedIn of game dev, for casual networking and commiserating about the seven hells of the industry, so it made sense for me to be there to make my little jokes and yell about unions. It’s also more mobile-friendly, so I could post cat pics and be on my way without a fuss. And I always used Tumblr more for fandom meta stuff, which isn’t something I really do anymore because being a narrative designer kind of changes how you engage with fandom and meta -- it starts to feel like your day job instead of your fun hobby, at least in some senses, or it uses the same type of brain energy and at the end of work you’re depleted. And it’s weird to be able to see the seams of games, and have a sense of where their budgeting and schedules and tech restraints were, in a way that completely changes your idea of what “good” is or what something “accomplished” and doesn’t always line up with the ideas of other players. It’s not a good or a bad thing, just different. I read books differently now than I used to, too. (Part of this is also about growing older and developing new neural pathways. Weird shit.) It’s interesting to think about how fandom got me into game dev (literally; the first writing sample that got me hired was fe13 fanfic with the names changed -- but also very directly through the support of the friends who read my writing for years ((often making it better with our discussions)) and encouraged me to apply and etc.) and yet game dev is kind of what keeps me from being in fandom (at least deeply).
So I kind of had two different networks -- the twitter one of friends plus game dev peers, and the tumblr one of friends plus fandom peers, the latter of whom followed me basically for meta/fanfic/the stuff I reblogged. But friends also keep in touch on discord or other messengers, so I often wonder, what do I even post for, and why? All I really want to post about is my life, but that’s not even really a safe thing to do, and also, why do I want to, besides being a little human who likes to leave her little proofs that she was here? Like, would it be interesting to anyone here to know that I work in AAA now and the fam and I are moving to Germany soon? That’s cool news for me, but I can’t say much of anything about my work (and even the things I am allowed to say are dangerous, lmao. Telling the internet who you work for and on what game title always makes you a target. Target is doubled for every underrepresented identity that you have. But that was a LITTLE different for me in my curated twitter bubble because again, it’s more like LinkedIn on the gamedev side, and I have a small audience so my info doesn’t leave my bubble; my bubble is also small on Tumblr but feels more unfamiliar after I’ve been inactive for so long.). AAA can carry a lot more weight in the industry but it really shouldn’t (what some other VOW writers said is true: God works hard, AAA devs work harder, but mobile romance devs work hardest of all) and tbh I don’t give a shit about commercial game size--I chose this company’s offer because its team was really special (severely anti-crunch, pro-labor rights, inclusive, brilliantly skilled in storytelling and technical design and other things I want to learn from them, kind and warm). But some of you might be happy to know that I’ll finally get real health insurance and sick days and vacation time and I can’t just be randomly laid off at any time (something European game devs enjoy that US devs often do not), and it’s a huge weight off my shoulders, because you might remember how I had to struggle with that for several years. Always so much to say but so much fear around saying it. Rare to find the points where you can view your life as Back Then and Right Now in such concrete terms. Is that worth documenting?
TL;DR I want to use social media for personal things and chatting with friends but The Internet at large makes it difficult to do that. I am of course far from the only one who feels this way. That’s just the update on me while I ponder what else to contribute to this blog! I do owe you some cat pics at least.

I would not be surprised if my mom ends up keeping my brother’s cat. I didn’t even mention it to her because I thought she was going to be like “nope no way I don’t want another animal right now” (she took my Pa’s dog after he died so now has two dogs) but then today she randomly brought it up herself. She was like “…maybe I’ll end up asking Travis if I can keep her…”
Plus she said that last night the cat was laying all over her and my dad was like “no we’re not getting one” and she said “maybe I’ll just keep this one”. She is such a super loving and cuddly cat it’s impossible to not want to keep her.
I know my mom doesn’t want the responsibility of another animal right now mainly because of the vet bills. Like she would love a cat but doesn’t want the money part of it lol. My dog Lucy is super old and is on like three different expensive meds. Hanna (my Pa’s dog) is on expensive anxiety meds, and they both have prescription food.
But tbh, it would be better for the cat in the long run. My brother got that dog and all the dog has done is chase that poor cat around, scaring her so bad she’ll pee. Like, the cat was there first, it’s her home, and now this big scary dog is forcing her to stay hidden in one bedroom. And my brother refuses to give the dog back, even though he also complains that his girlfriend “talked him into” getting the dog but now won’t stay to watch her when my brother is at work. Having the dog is causing him all this stress but he won’t just give it back. (The owner he got it from cried when he left her, and already said he’d take her back if they needed him to.)
I know my brother loves the cat but obviously not enough to think about the fact that she was there first and her needs should come first. Much as I HATE when people get animals and then get rid of them, if it’s because they don’t get along with a pet that was there first, that’s the one time I agree with it.
At least at my mom’s house, the two dogs are small, and they don’t chase the cat. Lucy is completely oblivious, I honestly don’t even know if she knows there’s a cat in the house. Plus she can barely walk so wouldn’t be able to chase even if she wanted to. Hanna is curious but doesn’t chase, and she stops getting too sniffy when you tell her to. The cat is nowhere near as scared of them as she is of that big dog.
If my brother keeps the dog he has and doesn’t train it not to chase the cat (he won’t) then I really think it’d be better if the cat just stayed at my mom’s house. At least then she could finally relax.
