Have a little Stasia in the Final Fantasy AU ft Siberite! Under the cut for spoilers, from shadowbringers on, but I hope it’s nothing to to bad. Also it’s rough to say the least but it’s new so!
“Everything okay with you?” Siberite says with a chuckle, “Did they get you all sentimental about Emet-Selch?”
She cocks a brow, “Why is that your conclusion?”
The warrior matches her stride as the two make their way towards the teleporter, “Well seeing a father and son start to make some kind of amends when you didn’t get the chance to with Emet-Selch might sting a little.”
Stasia barks out a laugh, turning on the machine, “Why would I-?” The machine whirls as they quickly find themselves back in sunlight, Stasia laughing more as the implication starts to make sense. “Emet-Selch was not my father. He’d be grimacing in the aetherial sea if he heard such nonsense, as according to him one could only imagine what a handful I was when I was a child if my adulthood had any indication.”
Siberite crosses her arms, rolling her eyes, “Well just how am I supposed to know that? It’s not like we’re friends entirely.”
She grimaces, “We are not friends.”
“Well we aren’t fully enemies either now are we?”
Stasia sucks on her teeth, grumbling, “I’m not so dense as to not accept help after the disaster Fandaniel left of my empire.” She throws a hand up, “And don’t you dare think about contradicting me. I helped build the Garlean Empire and run it from the shadows as per Emet-Selch’s plan. I’m the one that made it what it was, if you ever cared to look at what the ruins once were.” Stasia turns away, running a finger down in the air a black circle forming surrounded by purple tendrils, “Shall we?”
“I didn’t know you could do that,” the warrior scoffs, “Why didn’t we just go through your portal to get here?!”
Stasia rubs her temples, mumbling under her breath, “She needs to live. She needs to live. Keep it together.” She glances over with a forced smile, “I will leave you. Now, walk.” Siberite puts her hands up, walking through it to a secluded section of Labyrinthos, the portal disappearing instantly when Stasia makes it through.
“Am I allowed to ask you something?”
“No.”
“Why do you care so much about [REDACTED]?”
“I don’t.”
Siberite groans running a hand down her face, “In a relative sense for your emotionless, scheming, Ascian self, you care quite a bit for him. I wanna know why.”

the end is where we start from
What we call the beginning is often the end / And to make an end is to make a beginning / The end is where we start from. ~ T.S. Elliot, Little Giddings
Danny was running, he didn’t know where to all he knew was who he was running from. He didn’t know if his parents were even coming after him, guns blazing and mouths sneering but he didn’t dare turn around to look. Maybe they weren’t even going to bother chasing him, maybe they were just happy the ghostly scum was out of their house.
He saw the entrance to Amity’s deepest woods and he darted for it. It was dark and thick and easy to lose yourself in so people usually thought twice before they entered. But people like Danny had little else to lose. The sting of branches swiping at him before he could turn intangible, giant, gnarling roots tripping him up before he could float over him. But he didn’t dare slow down because that would mean acknowledging what had happened.
Another missed curfew, another argument where he and his parents talked about but around each other. Another ghost showing up just as he got dressed for bed, another transformation to take care of it before he could get some sleep. Only the same old script flipped on itself when Mom opened the door, bringing in some tea as an apology for her harsh words just into time to see her son become a ghost. Her gun was drawn before the cup hit the floor and shattered, along with Danny’s heart.
Deep in the thicket of the woods, his human lungs burned and his living muscles ached but he couldn’t turn into Phantom now. Not when it was the stupid ghost’s fault he wasn’t welcome in his own home anymore.
‘What are you doing with my son, ghost?’
‘Mom, please it’s Danny I can explain, please would you just listen?’
‘You can’t be alive and dead at the same time! It’s impossible!’ Oh god my baby died and I didn’t even notice’
‘Mom, Dad, listen to Danny, he’s telling the truth. This is why he never-’
‘Jasmine, you’ve been deceived that’s what ghosts do! That’s what Phantom in particular is known for!’
“Jazzy, Danno, I want to believe you, but it’s a lot to take in. Let us run some tests to make sure.’
‘Danny! Danny wait! Come back!’
Eventually his human body ran out of steam, adrenaline and desperation can only take a person so far. His speeding gait slowed to a lopping jog before settling into a quiet, miserable walk. He squeezed his eyes shut and dared to look over his shoulder but, of course, no one was there. It was just him, the darkness and his own woes.
“What am I going to do now?” He asked quietly, weakly as he fought back panicked tears. All he could see was his mother’s angry, grieving face. His father’s confusion as he tried to make sense of it all while trying to keep the peace. Jazz’s frustration and futile attempts to shield Danny from the worst of the shouting.
He had nothing on his person, why would he? He’d been about ready to go to bed when his whole world came crashing down. His worn Star Wars t-shirt and sweatpants offered little protection from the gloomy October weather but Danny’s ice core more than protected him from the chill. He welcomed it if anything, it matched the ice growing in his heart. No money to escape with, no phone to call for help, no tools to contain any ghosts he battled. He hadn’t even had dinner last night, too busy fighting ghosts. For the first time, Danny was well and truly on his own. Not even dying had seemed so scary.
“I can handle this,” Danny said with false calm. It was pitch dark around him but a little ectoplasmic light brightened the area up. “I’ll just stay here for the night and then I’ll check in tomorrow. If things are still bad, I’ll grab my gear and go.” Where he’d go was a whole other question but that wasn’t important right now. He was still too raw to think about what he’d do if he actually had to abandon his human life. All he could focus on right now was the hurt pulsing through him.
He wandered around in the dark for a little while longer, looking for a suitable place to set up camp for the night. Eventually, he came upon a set of twisting trees that was perfect for his purposes. Lightening his weight, he climbed up halfway and made a little ice tent in the branches. It was lightweight but thick, covering him up and serving as a shield between him and the rest of the world. In his own little ice palace, no one else could hurt him.
“There we go, home sweet home,” Danny mumbled as he crawled inside with a dull thump. He’d left a little skylight open, so he could look up at the stars. If he didn’t think too hard about it, he could imagine he was out camping with his dad or stargazing with his friends. “No, stop it. You’re only making it worse,” he said quietly to himself as the annoying flush of sadness washed over him. He didn’t like to cry; it made him feel stupid and childish and exhausted. Jazz had lectured him about the cleansing release of neurochemicals and other junk but really he usually felt worse after crying.
“This is fine, everything is fine,” Danny sniffled, shuddering as he curled in on himself. The only cold that could hurt him was his own. It really wasn’t a great idea to use his that much of his ice in his human form, it chilled his body too much to be healthy. That, combined with his light clothes, the chilly night and that fact that he was laying on a solid block of ice, didn’t help matters. If Sam and Tucker could see him, they’d be shoving him in the shower to warm him up and plying him with food and blankets. Jazz and her dozen kind of herbal teas that help with mood or digestion or whatever would shove one or two into his hands and hover until he drank some. Their nagging was annoying but it was helpful and made him feel so loved. Love he wasn’t feeling out in the woods all by himself in the middle of the night.
“This is fine,” he repeated, more choked up this time and gave into his desire to cry. His chest hurt from the force of his sobs and eyes burned from the salty tears. He was flushed and cold and miserable but eventually, after wiping snot away from his nose and hiccupping quietly, he was ready to sleep. He was so worn out from all the hurting and the crying that he slipped from wakefulness as easy as going ghost.
“Child, what are you doing?” Danny groaned at the vaguely familiar voice. His ghost sense went off, reminding him once more how cold he was. He barely had it in him to shiver right now. “Ghost child, awaken and explain yourself.” Cold metal poked repeatedly into his side until Danny shoved the hand away, sitting up with a miserable glare.
“Go away, I’m not in the mood,” Danny grumbled, turning away from Skulker to try and go back to sleep. “I already feel bad enough, I don’t need you making it worse.”
“That does not explain why you are in a tree in the woods,” Skulker said slowly, still hung on stupid details. “The last I checked, the human Lair you stayed in was still standing. I stopped there to show you my latest weapon but you weren’t there, I traced your signature here.”
“Congrats, pass go and collect $200,” Danny sniped back quietly, not putting any heat into it. He didn’t have much to spare.
“Why are you out here, all alone?” Skulker frowned, “humans are susceptible to the elements, I presume you’re no exception given your current state. Just this once, I will stay the hunt to return you to your human Lair and we shall resume at a later-”
“No, I can’t go back,” Danny gasped fearfully, he curled in deeper on himself. “My parents, they know about me, about my powers. They didn’t take it well, I can’t- I don’t have anywhere else to go.”
“But those human children-”
“I’m not getting them involved in this, they’re already in too deep. Tucker’s still grounded from that incident with Desiree and if Sam’s parents caught me in her room at night I’d lose the other half of my miserable life,” Danny grumbled. “Just leave me alone or kill me and take my pelt. Either one, it doesn’t matter anymore.”
“I see,” Skulker hummed, “stay here, Child, I will return.” Skulker said before flying off.
“Great, can’t wait,” Danny murmured as he rearranged himself on his ice block. He still felt unbearably cold but it probably wasn’t enough to actually kill him. Probably. “Stupid ghosts, stupid powers, if I hadn’t walked into that stupid portal, I’d be be safe and warm in bed right now and only have to worry about passing pre-calc.” It felt like he’d barely fallen back asleep when he was forcibly awaken by something soft and heavy dropping on him.
He phased out of the tangle only to find a bunch of blankets and heavy winter coat that looked 2 sizes too big for him. “What the-”
“Wow you weren’t kidding, babe, he looks like a trainwreck,” he heard Ember’s gruff voice say. “Hey dummy, put on the stupid coat. I ain’t had nerve endings in a while but I’m getting cold just looking atcha.”
“You bring your girlfriend to harass me in the middle of the night with,” Danny eyed the pile with price tags still on them, “stolen merchandise.”
“Shut up, we’re crashing your pathetic little pity party so you don’t die before I can off you myself,” the rock star huffed. “If that coat isn’t on you in five seconds, I’m manhandling your skinny arms into it.”
“Jeez you’re worse than my sister,” Danny grumbled even as he pulled the coat on. It was big but fluffy, the extra layer instantly made him feel a bit better. “Happy?”
“Getting there. Techy, you brought the food or what?” Danny yelped as a large amount of food dropped in through his skylight. It was an interesting mix, a jumbo bag of peanuts, dijon mustard, a jar of pickled eggs, a couple bags of chips and a box of uncooked macaroni noodles. “Here, eat some human food.”
“What?” Danny questioned as Technus poked his head into the icy tree house.
“Oh nice place you got here child but it needs more lights and a flat screen and, oh, I can set you up with a killer stereo system over eek!” the technology ghost yelped as he was pulled back and Poindexter replaced him.
“Hey Danny, heard you were in a bit of a bind. Thanks to you, my Lair’s school is a better place now, bully free. You can cool your jets with me if you need to fly the coop.” Danny didn’t answer and instead opened one of the bags of chips, barbeque and ranch sweet.
“You can also stay on my island for however long you need to recover,” Skulker grumbled, like it pained him to say. “It’s no fun to hunt you when you’re so weak. I want to defeat you at your prime not at your lowest.”
“No, no, come to my lair! Everything is beeping and flashing all the time and I have a Minecraft room!” Technus interjected.
“I guess you could come to mine if you have to,” Ember huffed. “But aren’t you also buddy buddy with the Yetis bein’ an ice core and all? Or Queen Dora? Pretty much anyone will open their lairs to you with your stupid, beaten puppy dog eyes.”
“You guys, I don’t know what to say,” Danny said softly, taken aback by the show of kindness. He took in the blankets, the coat, the food, their offers. They didn’t understand, not really, but they were trying. It meant a lot, coming from his enemies. “Thank you.”
“Well, yeah, us nerds got to stick together,” Poindexter grinned.
“You’re human and an annoyance but your existence has given my afterlife quite a thrill. I’m not ready for the hunt to end quite yet,” Skulker announced.
“You’re our favorite nemesis,” Technus exclaimed, trying to squeeze his face back through the packed skylight. “We fight, we banter but we also support each other when we’re down! Whenever I’m feeling down, I come into the human world and our battles have me back up and running in no time!”
“Huh,” Danny said, looking down with a small smile. If his enemies could put aside their grudges and help him when he needed it then maybe... “Thanks again really but uh, I think I should go home, check in with my folks. Probably shouldn’t have run off like that but um, if it goes bad...”
“You’re part ghost,” Skulker said with a sharp nod. “The Zone is as much your home as it is ours. Really should get around to making a Lair one of these days. Only weak ghosts and parasites leech off of others.”
“You know the way back from here?” Ember asked. “Need an entourage?”
“Yeah I got it,” Danny answered, triggering his transformation. Poindexter squealed with delight as he phased out of his sad little ice cave. It looked cold and lonely which wasn’t what he needed right now. “And I’ll- it’ll be fine. I don’t think bringing a bunch of ghosts home with me will help my case.”
“Farewell, Child. May your spirits be higher on our next meeting. Having the support of ghost hunters will certainly add to the challenge of the hunt,” Skulker grinned. “I look forward to it.” He flew off and the others followed. Danny smiled, watching them go for a moment before flying in the opposite direction towards his house.
He was halfway home when the Fenton Assault Vehicle careened around a corner at an unsafe speed. Danny jumped as it went past, startled out of invisibility. He made eye contact with his parents before the RV skidded to a screeching halt and then hastily backed up. The window rolled down and he met the wide, teary eyes of his mom and dad.
“Uh funny running into you in a place like this,” he said shyly, looking down.
“Oh thank heavens, Danny where have you been? We’ve been worried sick!” His mother cried, jumping out of the RV and pulling him down into her arms. His father was on the phone, he heard Jazz’s name being mentioned, along with Sam and Tucker. “Baby, you’re freezing! Is this,” she paused, pulling back and delicately touching his wisp like hair. “Is that normal?”
“Sort of,” he said, leaning back into her touch. “It’s all kind of a long story. I shouldn’t have run off like that, I’m sorry.”
“No, you shouldn’t have but I don’t blame you,” Dad said, stepping out of the car and wrapping them both in a hug. “But Fenton men always make up for their goof ups. You were headed back home, right?”
“Yeah, home,” Danny sighed.
“Danny, I still don’t understand but I, we, love you and I’m sorry if we made you doubt that. We’ll work it out, sweetie, I promise. That’s what family does,” Mom said before ushering him and Dad into the car. “Now in you get, it’s too cold and too late for this and I do not want the neighbors complaining to the HOA again.”
Danny changed back in front of his parents for the second time that evening, this time intentionally. Their curiosity and happiness at seeing him overrode their earlier fear and confusion. He settled more comfortably into the backseat, warm and happy for the first time all evening.
“Danno, where’s you get the jacket?” Dad asked.
“My other family, don’t worry, I’ll explain it all tomorrow.”

What I Thought About "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances" from The Owl House
Salutations, random people on the internet who most likely won’t read this! I am an Ordinary Schmuck. I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons!
When Dana Terrace did her AMA on Reddit, a fan asked what we could expect for the new season. To which she replied by listing five things:
Parental conflict
A lot of emotions
Island exploration
New characters
...There's a fifth thing in there. You just got to look closely.
Now, when Dana mentioned parental conflict, dozens of fans assumed she was talking about Alador and Odalia, which, I mean...valid. They were the only two parental figures who presented any real conflict, and the idea of Camila being involved seemed implausible due to Luz being cut off from the human world. But no matter how you perceived that line, one thing’s for sure: No one expected Eda and Lilith's mother to be a source of conflict!
Yup. Today we met the woman who created two of the (former) greatest witches in all of the Isles. Was her introduction welcomed? Or did she give the Blights a run for their money for the "Worst Parent(s) of the Year" award? Only spoilers can answer those questions, so keep that in mind as we go in-depth with "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances."
Let's review, shall we!
WHAT I LIKED
The Flashback: Already, this episode comes out swinging by giving us so much information! We get an explanation of what Eda goes through when cursed (which is horrifying), the reasoning behind her gem, the revelation that Eda ran away from home, and the reveal of how she got the portal door. The best part is, none of it feels rushed or forced. Eda's curse and the portal are integral threads to this story, both in this episode and in future ones. Tying them together sets up Gwendolyn's determination to cure her daughter while showing Eda's determination to escape her mother by skipping town into another dimension. There's also a sense of mystery in how and why the portal was in their backyard. And judging by how we got all of this incredible information in episode FOUR of the new season, something tells me we'll get answers to those questions sooner than we might think. This was such a strong opening to the episode. Despite giving so much information, it makes fans like me want even more. Which is an A+ in my book.
Gwendolyn: Yeah, might as well step out the gate in saying that I like Gwen...but I can already see how others won't. Immediately, she sets herself up as a mother who would do anything and everything to cure her daughter. That aspect of her character is perfect, and it quickly won points from me in terms of liking her. It's just that Gwendolyn's disregard of what Eda wants and the complete dismissal of Lilith are aspects of Gwen that are certainly going to rub some people the wrong way. Especially if those kids come from households where their parents are a lot like Gwendolyn. I was in the same boat of hating her too for a while, but thankfully, the last act saved her.
First, there's that scene where Gwendolyn threatened the lives of the demons for not only screwing her over but making things worse for Eda. It's one of those "Hell hath no fury like a mother scorned" moments that I always love to see.
Then there's the fact that Gwendolyn learns her lesson and, more importantly, apologizes. Not many actual abusive mothers would do that (Looking at you, Odalia), so it's nice to see that she makes an effort to make amends. Oh, and by the way, since I mentioned it, don't go around calling Gwendolyn abusive. She isn't. Or, at least, not to my eyes. If anything, she's a lot like Sara Fitzgerald from My Sister's Keeper (The book. Not the movie. The movie sucked).
In that story, Sara makes controversial choices that result in her youngest daughter Anna getting the short end of the stick due to putting all attention towards her eldest Kate. But here's the thing: KATE HAS CANCER! So while Sara's choices are beyond questionable, you can understand her point. And if you don't, well, I'd see how you would react when in her shoes. Trust me when I say that situations like this aren't always cut and dry. It's the same with Gwendolyn. She's far from "Mom of the year," but you understand where she's coming from. She wants to do what she can to help Eda, even if her methods could have been better. But that's just how I feel, and I can't speak for everyone who dealt with mothers far worse than her. If you refuse to forgive her, I'll understand. But to me, I consider Gwendolyn a worthy addition to the series.
(Plus, she just radiates Grandma energy when interacting with Luz. It's cute, and therefore I must love it!)
Luz: This season is on FIRE when presenting Luz!
I adore that the first thing we see her doing in this episode is sleeping after, most likely, another all-nighter to find a new portal. It proves that she has a determination made of iron and an intense dedication to getting back to Camila. In fact, it's that dedication that works as a perfect way to build a connection between Luz and Gwendolyn. They both want to reconnect with their families and are willing to do whatever it takes to do so.
Regardless, despite so desperately wanting to see Camila again, I'm glad that Luz still has common sense when it comes to helping Eda. She quickly sees that Gwen's cures are doing more harm than good, and it's great that Luz is the one to call malarky on the whole thing. No one had to spell things out for her because she's smart enough to notice that everything Professor Warlop is marketing feels a lot more like the fake medicine real people sell in the human world. It's a testament that despite having a big heart and the best intentions, Luz still has the intelligence to know when something is up and put a stop to it. And, again, let's hope that more people pick up on that.
Lilith: ...who would have expected Lilith of all characters to have most of the emotional moments in this episode?! I sure didn't!
But...Yeah. Lilith is the best thing in "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances." On top of her seeking Gwendolyn's approval being relatable for some viewers, it's also really heartbreaking. I mean, listen to the shocked and hurt tone in her voice after finding out Gwen visited Eda regularly. That alone should give away how much Gwendolyn is important to Lilith and says so much about how strained their relationship became after the curse. Then there's that scene where she just breaks down, feeling both scared and torn apart by the fact that she experienced the curse in its full form and could do nothing to stop herself. It...stung. That's the best way to describe it. It stung seeing a character who is (mostly) cool and collective to become so vulnerable and broken. And, you know what? It's because of this that Lilith has won me over. I still don't think she should have been as forgiven as quickly as she was, but after learning what Lilith went through and what she's currently going through, I'm more than willing to be ok with her. And--I can't believe I'm saying this--I'm going to miss her being a part of the Owl House. She earned her place, in my opinion, creating entertaining dynamics with everyone. Sure, she'll make appearances every now and again, but I wouldn't mind a few more episodes with her being with the main group. But I'm positive the writers will have plans for her in the future and seeing how well she was written in this, I can't wait to see what they do next.
King Hoping to see his Dad Again: This was just a cute tidbit that ties nicely into last week's episode. Bonus points for that scene where King and Lilith get drunk off of Night Market ice cream. It got a good chuckle out of me, especially when Hooty was the one who ended up being the voice of reason.
Cursed Lilith: ...How does she look worse and more terrifying than Eda?
How Beast Keeping Magic Works: Not much I can say about this. It's neat to be given a visual explanation of how Beast Keeping magic works and how it's more than just controlling animals. Judging by the roof shingles, it can also be making objects more animal-like. It's pretty cool, and I hope to see more of how the rest of the magic from the prominent covens work.
Luz wasn’t the only human: To tell you the truth, this doesn't surprise me. Eda did say that every myth humans have is a bit of the Boiling Isles leaking into the human world, so why can't the opposite be true? However, the reveal of there being a famous human around many years ago presents many more questions, and possible theories, that deserve to be discussed in a future post. For now, I'll just say that it's awesome how this reveal perfectly transitions us to next week's episode, "Through the Looking Glass Ruins." We already know Luz is going to the library. But, seeing how Gus is going to be a prominent character in that episode as well, he probably wanted to tag along with Luz to study about the first human in the Boiling Isles. Only to then get sidetracked by some cool kids from Glandis. It's in the realm of possibility, thus proving how more serialized this season compared to Season One while still being somewhat episodic. Because even if "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances" presents a lot for the overall story, it's still its own tale about family relationships and knowing how to truly be there for the people you love. Resulting in a necessary and cute episode that ends on a wholesome note without any major surprises like--
Creepy Clone Luz: ...
...Dana Terrace, you lying--YOU SAID CREEPY LUZ WAS A FARCE! IN THE SAME AMA, TOO! CURSE YOU! CURSE YOU AND YOUR SNAKE TONGUE, GOSH DANGIT!
...Alright, now that I got my overreaction out of the way, this was an amazingly well-written surprise!
Tricking fans into thinking that Camila is crying over the realization that Luz is gone, only to then reveal this...thing, is the best shock to the system that this series has done so far. Even better, it results in all the right questions:
Who is it?
What is it?
Where did it come from?
When did it get there?
How did it get there?
How does it know about Camila?
And why? Just, why?
To me, a series that presents all of these questions, and makes me excited for whatever answers are given, is a series that's doing something right. Because if I'm still reeling over something that lasts for a second, despite seeing the episode hours ago, that is a testament to how good a surprise really is.
WHAT I DISLIKED
Trust me, I want to give this episode the A+ just for that ending alone. But, there are some issues I have that are worth discussing.
Eda’s Outfit Change: I know. It's the nitpickiest of all nitpicks I could present. Particularly because Eda doesn't even look bad (although that's no surprise). The issue is that it feels weird that Eda's having this permanent outfit change in the fourth episode of Season Two. Or, to me it is, at least. Because I think that if you're going to give a small yet constant change to the look of a character, it should be done right away. Like, in the first episode of a new season. I highly doubt fans would question why Eda is wearing different clothes by then, so it wouldn't be too bad if the first time we see her, she’s sporting a new outfit. Again, this is just me, and I have no problems with the outfit itself. It just seems odd they would do this later rather than sooner.
Screwing with Eda: I...did not like this. At all. It was funny at first to see Luz and Gwendolyn lure Eda with Apple Blood like how Wile E. Coyote would bait the Road Runner with birdseed, but it quickly took a turn. Because I don't want to see Eda meet inconvenience after inconvenience from her mother and surrogate daughter. I like Eda, and seeing her happy makes me happy. If I wanted to laugh at a character's suffering, I would have picked Boscha, Mattholomule, Alador, and/or Odalia. This? This was just unnecessary cruelness to a character who doesn't deserve it. And it takes up a good chunk of this episode, making me question whether or not this would be the stinker I was fearing. Fortunately, the ending increased my enjoyment by several notches, but that doesn't change how this was the low point of "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances."
IN CONCLUSION
Despite the road being rocky in the middle, I still consider "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances" to be another solid A episode. The first and last few minutes have some quality writing that adds more to the characters, ongoing plot, and mystery that the series is building up. It's one of those important episodes you can't skip when watching a series, but given how it's keeping the new season's impeccable track record, I fail to see how that's a problem.
(Although, I am scared. We haven't gotten a stinker yet, and I really don't want it to be next week's episode. It's a Gus episode with sweet Lumity content on the side! That cannot fail!)

 ~Getting teleported~
"Spidey! Be careful!" You yelled as your Iron Spider legs lifted you off the ground. Peter was wearing a stealth suit since he was in Washington but you weren't so you wore your iconic iron spider suit (You picked the colors out yourself, not to brag or anything)
"Sorry!" Peter yelled as he ran up the building trying to avoid the lava. You landed on the farthest wall and aiming your web-shooters before you felt your hand being pulled. You looked over to see a portal?
"Whoa! What the!?" You yelled as your iron legs tried to get you away but it didn't work, you were being sucked in!, "Nononononono!" You mumble as you try getting out, alerting Peter and Beck.
"Rosebud?" Peter looked over at you, giving you his dumb nickname before realizing you were in trouble, "(Y/n)!" He swung over to you and grabbed your reminding hand, "(Y/n), Don't worry. You'll be fine." You looked over at Peter and your masks eyes showed fear, you all could tell. Beck and the monster were surprisingly silent as this happens.
"P-Pete..." You whispered in fear, not knowing what to do. Peter makes the eyes of his mask shoot up, showing you his amazing beautiful brown eyes, "I-I don't...." Peter frown as pulls on your arm. That's when you get fully sucked in, you heard one last thing before you went.
"(Y/N)!!"
You felt like you were glitching as you moved around this weird landscape, You landed on the ground on your feet. You looked around the city to see New York? But it was your New York...So, where were you?
You looked over to see a flash of white, pink, and blue. You looked over to see a spider-person? It looks like a female Spider-man like you?
"Hey, Wait!" You yell before running over the person but they were as fast as you, which was hard to believe, "Wait up!" The person didn't stop making you growl. You aim your web-shooters before shooting the person's feet, making them fall. You run over to the person seeing and gasping as you see their mask, it was another Spider-person!
"What the..?" You mutter before you felt your Spidey-sense go off, you made you stumble a little. It wasn't a threat though it felt like... a friend, just like it did when you and Pete were first bitten. The other person seems to feel the same way as you two stare at each other.
"You're like me...." You both say at the same time, surprising you and it looked like her too.
"I'm so sorry." You apologized as you run over to get the web off of her feet. You hit your head as you reached for the 'hand sanitizer' Peter made for the webs.
"It's chill." Was all she said as she watched in shock of the sanitizer actually working. She also seemed to be admiring your Iron suit. Her's was spandex just like you're and Peter's were.
"I didn't mean to hurt you it's just..." You let out a small sigh before sitting down, "I don't know where I am. This isn't my home I don't know what to do." You started to rant as you put a hand on the op of your metal mask.
"Hey, Hey." You stopped once you felt her hand on your shoulder, You looked up and gasped as you saw...Gwen Stacy? She was a Spider-Person?, "I don't belong here too." She spoke softly to you, well....that made more sense actually.
"This isn't your New York?" You ask as you retracted your model mask, showing your face to her. She looked at you in shock before shaking her head.
"No, it isn't." She looked down for a moment before looking up at you, "Is your name (Y/n)? (Y/n) (L/n) By any chance?" You look at her face and she looked really nervous asking you that.
"Yea. yea it is. Gwen Stacy?" You ask her with a frown, soon to become smile you could tell. She gave a small nod, "I didn't know you were a Spider-Woman too? I thought me and my boyfriend were the only ones."
"Boyfriend?" She looked over at you with questioning eyes, "You have a boyfriend?" You gave a nod, "What's his name?"
"Spider-man."
"I knew th-"
"I'm kidding." You gave a small laugh as yu nudge her gently, "His name is Peter, We were both bit by a spider. I'm assuming that's what happened to you?" Gwen's eyes widen as she looks down in thought.
"Peter? Peter Parker?" You looked over at her with a nod, "Okay, Something's wrong here. Last time I checked (Y/n) wasn't Spider-woman and Peter Parker died." She stood up and started to pace.
"D-Died!?" You asked standing up quickly, "Peter isn't dead! And last time I checked Gwen wasn't Spider-Woman either." You walked over to her, "So something is certainly wrong."
"Earth-quacks are happening around town." You heard a build board say, making you and Gwen walk closer to it, looking at it. That's when you noticed something weird.
"Hey." You pointed to the news station, "That was last weeks' date." You and Gwen look at each other confused, "That means we're in the future."
"And a different dimension." Gwen finished making you look at her like she was crazy, she raised her hands in defense, "That's the only thing that makes sense right now, (Y/n)."  You look down in thought before your spider-sense starts going off again, you both look toward a school.
"Let's go figure this out." You spoke before you put your mask back on and swung away, Gwen quickly following.
~Meeting Miles and Peter B.~
"Do you hear that?" You ask Gwen as you two quickly put your masks on. It was quite a bit away but it sounded like screaming?
"That must be where we're heading." She spoke up before looking at you with a nod. you nod at her before incasing the screen of your mask, thanks to Karen (I miss her)
"I-It's Spider-Man? And other Spider-...man?" You explained before pointing to where they are, "They're over there. We betting get moving quickly. They're being chased by a weird doctor." Gwen nodded before you two swing over to help them.
You were distracting the other back-up while Gwen dealt with the crazy doctor. When you were done you decided to head back over by Gwen where you saw you put the two in a web-like they were flies.
"Heh, That's cute." You spoke up, landing next to her right as she took off her mask, showing the world her new hair-syle. You gave her a look with the eyes of your mask as she gently pushed you away, making you laugh,
"Hey, Guys." She spoke to the two males in front of you, You look over to them and tilted your head a little at them. You had questions for both of them, especially the one in a make-shift costume of Spider-Man. Well, you couldn't quite judge, you and Peter weren't that far off when you began.
"Gwanda?" Miles asked as he looked over at Gwen, you looked over at his eyes before yours widen in recognition. That was Miles!
"It's Gwen actually." She answered giving him a look while still looking badass and beautiful! If you haven't noticed you and Gwen became fats friends.
"Oh, so you know her. Cool. " Spider-Man spoke up, making the three of you look over at him. You were giving him a look because didn't Peter Parker die in this dimension?
"We're from another dimension." You gave her a look through the mask, making her add, "Another another dimension. There happy?" She whispered that last party to you.
"Very." You chirped happily, The two finally look over at you. You gave a small smile as you retracted the medal off your face, showing them your beauty and grace.
"Who are you?" Miles asks pointing to you. Making Spider-Man look at him.
"You don't know her?" he asked, making Miles shake his head no.
"Don't worry." You smirk as you wrap your arm around Gwen's shoulders, "We'll explain."
~Meeting the rest of the Spiders~
"Oh my lord, Peter?" You semi looking over at Peter B, "Is yours like this?"
"yes but um, no geep and way smaller." Peter started to explain but you shook your head cutting him off. It was still weird because he was Peter but he wasn't your Peter. And he was way older and apparently married to M.J. when did that happen?
"Peter.." Miles whisper making Peter and you both look at him. He smirked as he tugged on the red cape, "I think this is a cape."
Peter chuckled at him as he dropped the cape, Gwen nudged you as you both smiled at the two. Miles soon was looking at an OG Spider-Suit.
"Peter knew how dangerous this job was." Aunt May started, making you look over at her. You also weren't used to her being old...no offense, "but he figured the only guy who could stop him was Spider-Man."  You all walk over to a bourd where it showed how he figure out where to go.
"Kingpin knows were coming. Were going to be outnumbered." Miles explained as he looked over at you all. You looked at him sadly before nodding in agreement.
"And how many guys does this guy has?" You ask Miles who was there when this universes Peter died. Miles didn't answer instead he started looking down, which was the only answer you needed.
"Don't be so sure." Aunt May smirked at you guys, "You might need these." She pulled out some name tags and pens. All of your senses started going off as you look at the ceiling, "You think you're the only ones who thought of coming here?" May smirked
"Hey fellas." A black and white Spider-Man tipped his hat off at you guys, his cape moving in the wind.
"Is he in black and white?" Miles whispered to you, causing you to shrug.
"Where is that wind coming from we're in a basement?" Peter asks looking completely and utterly annoyed.
"Where ever I go the wind follows," Spider-noir explains while moving his hand around dramatically, "And the mind smells like rain."
"Hi guys." An anime looking looks smiles as she and her robots land on the ground while doing cool poses. You stare at her in awe, mostly because of her robot.
"This could literally not get any weirder."
"You just had to say that," You deadpanned at Peter as you see the pig coming closer, "Never say that. It's bad luck. Steve taught me that one."
"It can get weirder." Porker smirks as he holds out his wet hands, "I just washed y hands that's why their wet....not any other reason."  You all stare at him for a moment before you smirk.
"I'm shaking his hand." And before anyone could tell you otherwise you shook the pig's hand, making him a little too happy for a simple handshake. All of your senses started going off again as you all stared at each other.
"You're like me." The three-spoke in unison. That's when they all started going off their life story.
"Okay enough!" Peter yelled making the three-stop explaining, it was started to get a little too weird for you. You know the girl who lives at the Avengers tower. Peter walked toward Noir as he asks, "So how did you get here?"
"Well, It's kind of a long story." Noir started, making you let out a sigh before walking forward next to Peter with a look that says 'I just wanna sleep'.
"Let me guess, teleported away from home." You counted on your iron spiders, "landed on a building, Figured out you were in the wrong dimension?" You gave the three a look, making them all look sheepish.
"Maybe not that long." Noir shrugged at you.
"Now we're just trying to find a way home," Penny spoke up, making the saddest puppy dog eyes you've ever seen. Scratch that, Peter gives you puppy dog eyes all the time, and those are adorable! You looked up at the robot to see that it gave you a sad face too.
"The only way home is through that calider gizmo." Noir started making you all look over at him, "The only trouble is."
"One of us has to stay behind to destroy it." Porker finished as he gently punched one of the cases holding the Spider-suits. You frown as you look at him, knowing what he said was true. You knew what had to be done.
"I'll do it." You all said in unison, minus Miles. You look at the Spider's in shock, you weren't expecting them to think the same thing. Fuck! You forgot their Super-heroes like you!
"Nonono, You guys don't get it." Miles started, making you look at him as he looks at you guys determined.
"Don't get what?" Penny asks with her arms crossed. That was when you all decided to glitch like crazy.
Not to be negative for anything but this hurt like a bitch! You let out a yelp in pain before you formed back on the floor, looking at the floor with your hair in your face. You looked up at Miles and nodded weakly at him, You knew he could handle this.
~The pep talk~
You shook your head as you climb in Miles window with the others, You made eye contact with Miles before he wiped his face avoiding eye contact.
"Hey, bud." He whispered so quietly if you didn't have super-hearing you wouldn't have heard him.
"You okay?" Peter asks him, already knowing the answer. You all did you all went through this one way or another. When Miles didn't answer Peter put his hand on his shoulder saying, "We've all been there." He finally made eye contact with Peter, "For me, For me, it was my uncle Ben." Oh, you remembered him.
"For me, it was, my uncle Benjamin." Noir also put his hand on Miles other shoulder. Looking as close to sad as Noir can get.
"For me, it was my father." Penny's eyes got glossy as she looked at the floor, trying not to cry you understood.
"For me, it was my best friend," Gwen spoke softly looking at Miles with her understanding blue eyes. You frowned as you knew it was hard for everyone to talk about the people they've lost.
"For me..." You started softly, not looking at Miles just yet. You were fiddling with your fingers, "It was my Menter, Tony Stark." You looked up at Miles with watery eyes. Tony really was a father to do even if you didn't know him for very long, you knew Peter felt the same.
"Miles," Porker spoke, making you all looking over at him, "The hardest thing about this job is You can't always save everybody."
"But it was my fault. You wouldn't understand." Miles spoke, not looking any of you in the eyes. Gwen was quick to turn and face him.
"Miles were probably the only ones who do understand." She spoke softly but firmly, needing to make sure Miles knew what she was saying was true.
"Even if you feel like we don't we really do understand." You explained in a more soft voice, "We've all been in your situation." You thought back to the snap, Tony's snap. You remember his eyes right before he passes in front of you. You remembered how both you and Peter cried in front of him, begging him not to go.
After avoiding the roommate or at least trying you gave Miles and pat on the back and left through the window. Sitting there watching as Peter tried to get any reaction out of him. You all knew that... He wasn't ready.
You frown and hugged yourself a little tighter and retracted your iron mask as you heard Peter leave the window.
~Now~
"Whoop! Whoop! Go, Miles!" You smiled as you watch Miles land next to Peter. You look over at Gwen with a smirk, "You ready to get fighting?" You could tell by the eyes of her mask that she was ready.
And so, You fought. You fought almost as hard as you ever fought (Thanos army is hard to beat) and you found yourself smirking and making jokes as you fought, just like you did before Thanos came to earth those five years ago. You all met at the ceiling where Miles were working the thing.
"Guess this is it." Gwen says, looking at all of you. You retracted your mask to give everyone a smile.
"Well, Nice to know we're not alone." She smiles at all fo you while you stare at her before smiling, "right?"
"Right." You and Gwen say at the time time.
"I got the portal open." he gives Penny a smile, "You first Penny."
"Thank you, Miles." she looked down at her spider before giggling lightly, "from both of us." She gave a salute as she falls down to the portal. The colors turning Red and Blue as she goes home.
"I-uh love you all." Noir spoke up, making you give him a smile, "I'm taking this cube thing with me." She showed you all the cube, "I don't understand it, but I will."
"You go, man." You smiled at him. He gave you all a salute too before he falls down, as he goes home the colors turned black and white.
"I want you to have this," Porker spoke to miles, showing him his gaint hammer, "it'll fit in your pocket." Miles takes the hammer.
"Lucky..."
"that's all folks." He lifted up his arms as he started to fall down.
"Is he allowed to say that? Legally?"
"I dunno, man." The colors for him turned crazy and cartoony as he went home.
"Do I get to like the hairdo now?" Miles smirks at Gwen, you gave a small chuckle at that. Peter would have said the same thing to you.
"You know I'm older than you? 15 months but that's really significant if you ask me." She gives Miles a smirk as they both stare at each other, Miles saying Something that you really don't understand, you were probably on patrol or something.
"Nice." Gwen moved away with a smile.
"Friends?" Miles held out his hand for a handshake.
"Friends." Gwen smiles at him, her thumb rubbing his hand a little, "See ya around, Spider-Man." She smiles before turning to look at you, "Thank you (Y/n), for being there for me."
"Aw, don't go mushy for me." You smirk as you open your arms for a hug, Gwen tense a little before giving you your hug.
"See you later, Spider-Woman." She says as you two pull apart you give you all a smile before falling down the portal, her colors were pastel.
"Guess it's my turn." You sigh looking at the portal as Miles nodded. You looked over to him and gives him a pat on the back, "You did do good man! I'm so proud of you! You're going to be an amazing Spider-Man." You gave him a sincere smile as you finish, "trust me."
"Thanks." Miles smiles at you before you turn and look at Peter.
"Make things work with M.J, Tiger." You smirk as you give him finger guns, he gives you a tight smile and you give him a normal one, "I mean it, live your best life, man." That's when he gave you an actually smile making it worth it.
You let out and let yourself fall into eh portal, you were able to see that your colors were your two favorite colors. You smiled as you close your eyes knowing Miles can handle being Spider-Man.
When you opened your eyes you were on a bridge, a badly damaged bridge. You grimace as you look at the damage around you.
"What happened here?" You mutter before you retreat your mask as you see someone walking toward you. Your eyes widen as you see it was your Peter. He was hurt but not that hurt his eyes widen when he saw you too.
"(Y/n)?" He couldn't stop the smile that went onto his face, "(Y/n)!" he ran over and gave you the best hug you ever got. He picked you up and sprung you around as you laugh a retract your iron mask. When he finally let you do you look down at his new suit and the damage around you.
"Soo, What happened here?" You asked Peter who was snuggling his face into your neck, giving it a good kiss or two.
"So much, I'll have to explain to you later. What about you?"
"I'll explain to you later." You smile as you cup both of his cheeks, making him look at you, "For now, I have something more important to do." You give him a firm but still loving kiss on the lips.
Peter admittedly kiss you back, making you smile into the kiss as you wrap your arms around his neck.
God, you missed your dimension!

Can we get more of the “beau feels powerless/dragon didn’t give anything” story? I wanna know what zolly’s opinion on the matter was lol.
the dragon is coming with them, apparently. the trek down the mountainside takes much of the morning—would have taken longer but about an hour to the base, they had heard the cacophony of ice and stone and fury as zoelfir tore apart the remainder of what had been their nest, and had become their prison. the avalanche that slid and tumbled and tore down the mountain as zolly did so had caleb and jester leaping from the rocks as immense eagles, their friends clutched in each claw.
the tressveld forest clings tight to the base of the mountain, dense and dark and from the air is looks like a skirt of green rippling out in hills and vales from the ivory peaks. caleb and jester set down on the edge, a wary eye turned to the mountain in case the avalanche follows them so far.
‘so...back to xhorhaus?’
caleb screeches.
‘dude, shut the fuck up. do you want every dire wolf from miles around to come try and eat us?’
caleb shuffles, bobs his head and taps her hard on the skull. tries to, anyway. beau ducks away, raps a knuckle on his beak.
‘are we teleporting or what?’
‘well if you had stayed to talk with zolly last night,’ nott begins, sounding for all the world like she’s half a second from adding something like, this is your own fault, beauregard, if you had been listening you’d know...
beau scowls hard. ‘it’s a yes or a fucking no, nott.’
‘a fucking no? the no has to be fucking?’
‘nott,’
‘we’re waiting for zolly,’ she finally concedes. ‘caleb is taking us to nicodranas.’
beau’s eyes slide across to jester on instinct; it’s hard to tell as an eagle whether she’s happy about that, though beau is pretty sure she would be. it’s been a few weeks, maybe a month, since they’ve managed to make their way to the coast and she knows jester has been missing her mama.
‘oh.’
a large dark eye rolls to looks at beau very quickly before the eagle turns her attention back to the mountain. powerful muscles in the legs and wings bunch and jester-eagle lifts into the air, buffeting pine needles and debris into everyone’s faces as she flies up, circles around where they are. after a moment, they see what the eagle eyes had seen first—the awesome form of a silver dragon emerging from the fog clouds above and winding its way toward them.
caleb drops his form, pulling yasha and fjord aside to clear a large enough space for his circle. the ground is frozen almost solid and they have to work diligently for the few minutes it takes for zoelfir to land a hundred or so feet from them and transform.
the dragon has taken the same form—a short, darker skinned woman with silver hair—and waves cheerfully when they emerge from the treeline. they’re limping slightly; no injury apparent but perhaps exhaustion, perhaps unused to exertion after so long being bound.
‘is this someone you know?’ beau asks when zolly is closer.
‘hmm? this?’ the dragon gestures toward their form. ‘yes, indeed! excellent question, keen mind. yes, she was a friend of mine oh, some years back now.’
‘what’d she do?’
‘do?’ zolly asks, forehead crinkling into many lines.
‘y’know. was she a knight or like a wizard or something?’
‘she made the most exquisite tapestries.’ zolly’s eyes grow distant, taking on a faint sheen as their concentration slips. ‘i had one commissioned but i was...indisposed before i could collect it.’
‘indisposed?’ fjord asks. he wipes a drop of sweat from his forehead, which crackles like ice in the chilly morning.
‘they were locked up,’ beau says. jerks their chin toward the mountain.
zolly grimaces. ‘indeed. well, onto the coast, yes?’
‘take the first portal outta here, hey? drown your sorrows at the sea side.’
‘what is it called now?’ zolly continues, though their eyes drift over to beau. she’d said it as a snide nothing comment, but dragons must have keen hearing because that look certainly says that they heard. ‘i’d dearly love to look at that map again, if i might.’
‘menagerie coast,’ fjord says with a nod, pulling their map case from the bag of holding. ‘nicodranas is—yasha, would you?’
‘oh yah, sure.’
fjord holds the map up flat against yasha’s back, taps his finger against nicodranas. ‘and port domali you asked about, that’s here,’
‘i see, i see, yes,’
‘twelve seconds until completion,’ caleb announces. jester giggles. as though she hadn’t, he continues in a quick, clear monotone. ‘remember to enter the teleportation circle as quickly as possible. all items should be carried on your person. do not run.’
‘why not?’
caleb’s hand, white with chalk, hovers over the final line. he cuts a quick look up to fjord and smiles. ‘you are welcome to try, if you wish,’ he says.
fjord leans sideways, says in a loud whisper, ‘that’s a dare, right?’
‘for sure.’
‘that’s a bad thing, coming from caleb?’
‘for sure.’
‘thought so.’
fjord runs through the circle. when beau emerges, she finds him clutching his face, nose bleeding freely.
‘there’th a wall,’ he tells beau. ‘don’t run.’
//
zoelfir knows yussa, as it turns out. they talk for a night, the mighty nein as yussa’s guest, and later in the night when restlessness strikes her, beau overhears quiet apologies between the regal elf and the dragon. minor explanations but mostly the clinking of tea cups in saucers and the crackling of fire.
beau hesitates between the stairs and the landing, wondering how bad it would be to eavesdrop on these people. but curiosity gnaws at her gut and so she slinks forward to the doorway and presses her back to the wall to listen.
‘—your fault, yusandrin. i never expected you to come looking for me after how we parted,’
‘that? a minor squabble?’
‘then what,’
‘there was a war, zoelfir,’ yussa says, and the voice sounds much older and richer than it ever has with the nein. he sounds like someone who has lived for centuries and not only seen them all unfold but lived in them, truly. ‘there was a war and i called upon you and you didn’t come. now i understand, you had already been trapped but then...’
‘you didn’t come looking for me because i abandoned you first.’
‘you always said it was my ugliest trait,’
‘well, you had to have one, my dear.’
a companionable laugh pulls from yussa, almost reluctantly, or as though he had nearly forgotten how. then,
‘if you don’t come in, little snoop,’ zoelfir says, tone bright and jovial as the glint off silver coins, ‘i shall freeze you where you stand.’
beau’s heart slams in her chest. she considers for a moment retreating up the steps but caught is caught. she steps around the arch, lie on the tip of her tongue—but zoelfir is smiling and yussa just sighs and clicks his fingers and summons a third chair at the fireside.
‘do not tell anyone i know zoelfir,’ is all yussa says. ‘my reputation would never recover.’
‘your reputation would improve and you know it, you bore. beauregard,’ they say, turning that smile on her. ‘couldn’t sleep?’
‘something like that.’
zoelfir casts their attention down to the pack at her side. ‘headed out already?’
beau shifts. sets it down behind the seat. ‘something like that.’
‘mysterious,’ the dragon says, and the small hissing laugh that accompanies their comment isn’t patronising or mocking. just amused.
it sucks. beau wants so badly to hate this dragon, this being who put her mediocrity so clearly into view. but she can’t. they’re fascinating, and effortlessly charming in a way that comes with power and age and a deep and powerful kindness despite what could easily have been centuries of torment.
‘where are you headed?’ yussa asks, floating a cup over to her and looking somewhat impatiently toward his summoned chair.
beau sits. takes the cup. ‘port domali. there’s an archive there and i can see what’s up, or head on to zadash from there maybe. maybe the capital.’
‘no real plans then?’
‘don’t pry, yusandrin.’
‘it’s my business to pry.’ yussa arches a brow. ‘well? i gather from your creeping about my tower in the middle of the night while the rest of your fellows sleep that this is an... unsanctioned journey?’
‘i wouldn’t call it creeping.’
‘yes, let’s focus on the most minor of details, shall we?’ yussa tone doesn’t shift from sharp, cool, but somehow beau knows it’s close to teasing for him. she still allows herself to bristle.
‘i don’t have to tell you shit. we rescued your friend when you couldn’t be assed to check up on them for, what, three hundred fucking years? maybe ask them a few questions before you go poking at me.’
yussa’s lips press flat and white in his bronzed face for a moment, just long enough for beau to think oh shit, and then the moment has passed. yussa turns away from her.
beau watches his eyes. watches him almost start at the glimpse of zoelfir to his right, as though for a split second he thought—feared?—he had made them up. imagined their reunion. yussa’s eyes skate around the round face, linger on the flow of silver hair.
‘you are headed to port domali, are you not?’
zolly smiles. sharp teeth and all. ‘i am. maybe i’ll tag along with the good archivist here,’
‘expositor.’
zoelfir blinks. ‘expositor. how does that sound? yussa can magic us to his nest in that port and we can have a little wander, a little explore, and,’
‘why?’
‘hm?’
‘why would you wanna come with me? is there something in the library you want?’
zoelfir blinks again. dark eyes revert to the dragons natural mercurial silver. ‘my dear, i’m a traveller. i said that the first time we spoke. i want to see everything—it’s all changed, it’s all new again.’ they chuckle. ‘a silver lining.’
‘but why me? you’ll see all kinds of stuff with the others.’
zoelfir shakes their head. ‘you and i aren’t done yet.’
‘done?’
‘i gave the others a boon,’ zoelfir tells her as if she doesn’t know that already, as if it hasn’t been giving her heartburn or the emotional equivalent. to the side, yussa—always so put together, so unshakeable—splutters on his tea. boons? zoelfir ignores him. ‘my debt to them is paid. my debt to you is not.’
‘your...debt?’ beau sets her tea down. lifts a shaking hand to her head, scratches at the shaggy undercut. ‘what?’
‘the boon i owe you. it is unfulfilled.’
‘I—first of all, you don’t owe us shit, of course we were gonna get you out of there, and second—‘ beau hesitates.
‘second?’
‘i—you dont owe me shit,’
‘you already said that.’
‘but—me, i mean. i didn’t help.’
‘nonsense,’ zoelfir waves a hand dismissively. ‘you who found the maps to the sanctum? you who translated the writings in the tomes? who found the door?’
‘i didn’t help you, though,’
‘you are part and party to those who hit a little harder to that fucker,’ zoelfir tells her. ‘and it’s my boon to give, you don’t get to argue about that.’
for all their being probably well over five or six hundred years old, zoelfir sounds about two seconds from adding so there to the end of that announcement.
beau just shakes her head. ‘why didn’t—why not give me a boon then and there?’
‘one didn’t present itself.’ when it’s clear she doesn’t understand—because she doesn’t—zoelfir hums, trying to find the words. ‘the wizard,’
‘caleb.’
‘i could feel his connection with flame intensely. it was both fear and love, shame and desire. the boon showed itself to me easily. the healer,’
‘jester.’
‘was the same. well within my power to give. her love of cold and mischief...’ zoelfir purses their lips as if to whistle and a quick wind escapes them, slightly fogged, and whips through the room. yussa complains as his books and notes ruffle and rustle, shivering on the shelves, but makes no move to stop his friend. ‘the same too with the others. but you,’ zoelfir hums. ‘i don’t know what you want.’
beau doesn’t know whether to believe them or not, so she just sits with it. ‘can i ask for something?’
‘that’s not really how it works.’
‘oh.’
zoelfir smiles. ‘hence, why i wish to travel with you. to understand what would aid you.’
‘maybe some magic fuckin powers so i don’t let down my friends,’ beau mutters.
zoelfir’s eyes turn very cold and shrewd. ‘it is within my power,’ they tell her. ‘would you accept?’
she almost says yes. she almost does, but something in her revolts at the idea of being given something. her whole life she has fought and stolen and scrapped for everything she has and...
‘no,’ zoelfir says, agrees, sitting back in their chair with a nod. ‘you see? a tough nut to crack, you are.’
‘and i do not think these friends of yours would be half so pleased with their lot if you had not been with them, beauregard,’ yussa comments, having recovered from his minor spluttering fit with no apparent damage down to his fine robes. ‘you are remarkably clever. astute. i have been impressed by you.’
beau shrugs. as nice as it is for him to say it, he’s not the one she needs to hear it from. fuck, she’s not sure she needs to hear it from anyone; beau’s whole thing is truth, finding truth, and she knows the truth. she’s a simple magicless human, and her friends need more.
‘how soon can you send me to port domali?’
yussa hesitates. minutely, a fingernail scraping over the curling handle to his cup. ‘as soon as you wish to leave.’
‘now.’
‘now, then,’ yussa agrees, and zoelfir stands with them both. conjures a pack from somewhere and a slight walking stick. similar to beau’s staff but of a silvery wood. birch, maybe?
‘aesthetics,’ zoelfir says, rather delightedly. ‘shall we?’

Martin Mantles Sanguine
So inspired by this absolutely gorgeous artwork and someone’s tags that I cannot for the life of me find (if they were your tags please let me know, I’d love to properly thank you for inspiring me) saying something along the lines of “what if Martin had to mantle Sanguine before the end of the main quest?” I have written some garbage start to a longer story based on that premise. Full thing under the cut! :) It is completely unedited as of now, so I apologize for any mistakes and would like to thank you for reading in advance!
It was the night before they were to head to the Imperial City and see Martin crowned when she had the dream. It was... odd, to say the least, for someone who rarely dreamed to have one that was so very vivid, but even more odd was the content.
When she looked down, Adelaide realized she was not on Nirn anymore - instead, she was in some glowing plane of reality that seemed to have no beginning and no end. The strangest part, however, was the flaming dragon before her, and it got stranger still when the dragon began to speak.
“Adelaide Darrell, the one they call the Hero of Kvatch, know me for who I am.” The fiery creature spoke with a voice that she thought could move mountains or dig canyons. She wasn’t sure if the visceral feeling it left in her gut was terror or awe. “I am Akatosh, and I require your obedience.” That would explain the booming voice and the dragon and the glowing realm. Best to hear him out, then - not that she seemed to have much of a choice. “You are too late. As we speak, the armies of Mehrunes Dagon march on the Imperial City. He will arrive in Tamriel before you can light the Dragonfires, and you cannot fight him as you are.”
This whole thing had gone very quickly from a really interesting dream to a concerningly realistic nightmare. Adelaide tried not to let the fact that she was speaking to one of her gods intimidate her too much. “What should I do?”
The dragon let out a puff of air that could have been exasperation or amusement. She wasn’t sure which option concerned her more. “There is a portal in the middle of the Niben Bay. You must enter it and become something more than yourself. Only a god can defeat another god.”
It seemed that the stereotype of divine beings being infuriatingly cryptic was correct after all. “What about Tamriel? What will become of it while I’m gone?”
Akatosh eyed her, and again Adelaide failed to discern whether it was with approval or distaste. “Time in Oblivion passes differently than it does in Mundus. No Nirn time will pass while you are gone. But you must be swift. Obey me, or Tamriel will fall.” Before she could say anything else - before she could think anything else - he was gone.
For an instant, everything went black and she had the oddest sensation of free-falling through space before she woke with a jolt. She had taken to sleeping on the floor of Martin’s quarters when she was at the temple, but they were as dark as they had been when she went to sleep.
Adelaide breathed heavily for a moment as she tried to think what to do - that had been too clear a dream to ignore outright - when Martin also awoke with a muffled noise.
She was on her feet and at his side in an instant, but the look he gave her as he sat up did little to calm her nerves. “You’ll never believe the dream I had,” he said lightly, but his voice was stiff and she knew he was more troubled than his words implied.
Adelaide met his eyes, and with a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach, knew with frightening certainty what his dream had been like. “He came to you too, then,” she whispered. “It was no dream.”
Martin took one of her hands in his and gripped it tightly, and for a moment they stood there in silence before he spoke. “He did. We should go.” But he didn’t move to stand or leave.
Adelaide squeezed back before gently (oh so gently, she could never risk hurting him) pulling hers away and picking her cuirass up off of the floor. “It will be all right. I do not know what this journey shall bring, but we will have one another. But we cannot wait. The situation is dire.”
Martin sighed softly as he stood. “I don’t think we will be together, but you’re correct. We cannot tarry.”
He padded over to his wardrobe as she froze in between straps of her gauntlets. “What do you mean? You aren’t coming to the Niben Bay?”
Martin removed his plain grey priest robe as he shook his head. “I am heading to the Imperial Reserve, north of Skingrad.” His voice was tight, but she wasn’t sure why. Certainly the situation was stressful and sudden and far from ideal, but she got the feeling that there was a memory bothering him.
“Are you all right?” she asked suddenly, pulling up one of her sabatons. But Martin shook his head again as he began to dress and she turned her eyes away.
“I am fine, but it is no matter. You are correct. We cannot delay. We must obey Akatosh.” He was lying and she could tell, but Adelaide didn’t press the issue. As with everything else, Martin would tell her when he felt ready.
They finished their preparations in silence before heading toward the stables. Jauffre was sitting alone in the great hall, and started when he saw them. “Where are you going? We aren’t leaving until the morning.”
Adelaide hesitated, unsure of what to say, but Martin answered for them. “We have been given a task we must complete. We will meet you in the Imperial City tomorrow.” She could tell that Jauffre was distinctly displeased with the idea, but Martin’s tone brokered no argument. The grandmaster tried anyway.
“It isn’t safe, sire. Please at least take an escort if you must leave.”
But Martin shook his head. “We must leave immediately, and we must go alone. Please, my friend, we can waste time no longer.”
Adelaide could pinpoint the exact moment at which Jauffre relented. His eyes dropped and his shoulders sagged as he heaved a deep sigh. “Very well. Do what you must. We will be waiting for you. Gods-speed, sire.”
Martin took the older man’s hands in his and smiled gently. “Thank you, Jauffre.”
Adelaide tried not to think too hard about what would happen if they didn’t succeed - that was irrelevant, now. They would win, or they would die, and so would everyone else.
She and Martin saddled and mounted their horses quietly. Any attempts at small-talk died quickly - they had become very close over the last few weeks, but the situation was too serious for them to distract themselves with idle conversation. Their ride, too, was quiet and tense as they listened for bandits or cultists or worse. But as tense as it was, the end was more difficult still.
Adelaide clasped Martin’s arm gently as he turned his horse toward the hills. “Be safe.” She hesitated a moment before continuing. “I do not know what Akatosh asked of you or why it torments you so, but you can overcome this.” She swallowed heavily and didn’t meet his eyes. “I will see you soon.”
But before she could turn away, Martin pulled her into an awkwardly positioned almost-embrace. “Thank you, Adelaide. For everything. Stay safe, and we will meet again soon.” Despite her discomfort, she held him until he pulled away.
“Until then, Martin.” And despite every instinct she had screaming at her to ride with him, to help him, to protect her emperor from the dangers that were assuredly ahead, she turned her horse down the road and continued to ride.
Thankfully, it was only another two hours’ ride to the bay, and the time passed uneventfully. (Akatosh’s protection? Perhaps.)
As Adelaide approached the gates to Bravil, she could make out a distant, shining object in the center of the bay. Whatever Akatosh had been telling her of, no doubt. With a slight sigh, she dismounted and loosely looped Antinea’s reins around a tree next to the stables. “I’ll return soon,” she told the horse. “If there’s danger, run.”
With that, she waded into the bay, intensely grateful that she was a strong swimmer. The glowing object in the center of the bay was far, but not unreachable, and became clearer the closer she got. As she approached, Adelaide realized it was actually an island with a portal in the center.
Her blood chilled when she heard the voice commanding her to enter - Akatosh had sent her to a Daedra. (Martin too, most likely - an even more concerning thought.) But she was nothing if not loyal, and after a moment to steel herself, she stepped into the door.
Later, Adelaide would swear she had spent weeks inside the glowing door. But to any outside observers, she had only just entered the portal when Sheogorath emerged, tilted her head slightly, and laughed.
A moment later, she shook her head as if to clear it and stood up straight, looking completely changed from a few seconds before. A staff topped with a rolling eyeball appeared in her hand for a moment before it disappeared again as she turned her gaze toward the Imperial City.
A storm was rolling in.
--
That’s all I have for now, but I’ve been on a roll writing this and have already started the next part, so if people are interested I’ll probably put that up too! Thank you for reading and I really hope you enjoyed! :D

FADE IN:
INT. EDITH’S LIVING ROOM
After the trip through time having ended with an emotional scene between friends. The next day, JUSTIN sits on the EDITH’S couch looking sad. To which with worry and concern EDITH jumps in to comfort him.
EDITH
What’s wrong, Justin?
JUSTIN didn’t respond but acknowledges her presence.
JUSTIN
I’m fine… don’t worry.
EDITH’S powers glow within her senses.
EDITH
You know I’m an Empath, right? I’m not gonna leave till you feel better.
JUSTIN
I know… I just… I feel bad for yesterday. I shouldn’t have taken her back to see Clementine.
EDITH
No, don’t feel bad. You were doing something thoughtful for Violet.
JUSTIN
I didn’t mean for things to get out of hand…
EDITH holds his head on her lap treating him like a child. She pats his hand and caresses his hair to make him feel better.
EDITH
I know you mean well for Vi, but don’t feel sad or bad. Again you were trying to do something nice for her. And Clem was everything to her and her happiness…
JUSTIN
I know… I feel bad for having to stop her to save her.
EDITH
You knew what was best and you had to do the right thing. Even if you had to hurt her feelings in the process.
JUSTIN
Yeah… also, thank you for this.
He refers to the head patting and hair caressing.
EDITH
No problem.
She looks on the table seeing a new shiny object.
EDITH (cont’d)
What’s this you working on?
JUSTIN
It’s an Interdimensional Generator. It generates enough energy to open a gateway to the universe. Gotta get home somehow.
EDITH
Do you think we can visit your home universe??
JUSTIN
It’s still a prototype so I’m not too sure if it’ll properly work… unless I plug it in with the Time Drive to compensate for the external energy. Plus with Tachyon particles it’ll make the chance of opening a portal greater.
JUSTIN gets up from EDITH’S lap and grabs the prototype. Rushing out the door and returning to The Eternity. He runs to the engine room and grabs nearby tools and gets to work. EDITH follows with her cup of raspberry tea and far from view. NOEMI having flown sees her running to the ship.
VIOLET as well walked the path to her home. The two friends follow her as well. JUSTIN having finished the new plug in, smiles with glee. Rushing to the command deck, seeing Edith ready in her seat and holding on to her tea. NOEMI & VIOLET walk in and rush to their seat immediately.
Meanwhile outside without anyone’s knowledge. IMPERIUM arrives only to stowaway on the ship.
JUSTIN
Ready?
EDITH
Aye aye captain!
NOEMI
Let’s go.
VIOLET
Yes.
JUSTIN smiles at VIOLET’S response then pushes the lever forward. The portal to Universe 727 opens quickly and The Eternity flies through. The planet Gaia is within sight. JUSTIN smiles seeing his adopted world.
JUSTIN
Guys! Come look!
EDITH
Wouldn’t we get side effects?
JUSTIN
Only for Time Jumps, we’re in space. Come look.
EDITH gets out of her seat, with NOEMI & VIOLET following. They see what JUSTIN sees, Gaia. A shining world with a vast green color to it.
JUSTIN
Say hello to Gaia… my adopted home… well… one of them.
EDITH
Oh my Eden! IT’S BEAUTIFUL! Let’s go! Let’s go!
NOEMI
Uh… it’s really nice.
VIOLET
HOW DID YOU DO THIS?! We need to return home now!
JUSTIN
Come on Violet, we’re in my home universe. Please have a little fun.
VIOLET
Hm.
EDITH
Please.
EDITH turned on a puppy dog face, which VIOLET cannot resist despite her serious demeanor.
VIOLET
Fine! Just one trip and you take us back when we’re done. You got it, hero?
JUSTIN scared by her commanding personality nods.
JUSTIN
Yes, ma'am.
The Eternity flies down to the planet meanwhile IMPERIUM lurks in the shadows behind the friends.
IMPERIUM
This shall be interesting.
CUT TO:
EXT. CASTLE FLORANA.
In the airfield, The Eternity lands quietly. JUSTIN and the gang leave the ship. To find guards awaiting near the door.
GUARDS 1 & 2
Prince Justin.
They do a salute toward him.
JUSTIN
Guards.
He gives them a simple nod to recognize them.
EDITH
You’re a prince?!
VIOLET
Why have you withhold this information?!
JUSTIN
Yes and… uh… well, I guess I forgot to mention it.
JUSTIN leads the gang to the castle, as their walk included JUSTIN’S tour guide introduction to his adopted home of Gaia.
JUSTIN
Welcome to Gaia, The Eternal Garden! This is the Kingdom Of Florania. My adopted mothers and fathers rule this kingdom. I have my two aunts in their respective kingdoms, as well as one uncle ruling his own and leader of Florania’s armies.
They walked past intriguing and alien worlds. EDITH with her phone takes photos of literally everything. NOEMI looks around to get a lay of the land. VIOLET holds her serious demeanor but hides the fact she wants to explore some more. The group arrives at the castle doors.
The doors open instantly and show a throne room with style. The floor was laid with shining gold, the pillars we’re trees that rose higher than anyone with many more flowers surrounding it. There were five thrones, two sitting higher above the rest. While three symmetrically apart were placed below them. There were people sitting and discussing in the thrones.
JUSTIN along with the rest of his friends walk toward them.
JUSTIN
Hi mom, mom, mom, dad, and dad.
They all turned to see JUSTIN and his new friends. ANGELIQUE stands up and rushes toward him.
ANGELIQUE
My baby boy!
She hugged him instantly and kisses his face multiple times.
JUSTIN
Momma!
EDITH, NOEMI, & VIOLET make little laughs at his expense. ANGELIQUE notices his new friends.
ANGELIQUE
Hi! Nice to meet you! My name is Angelique. I am the High Queen of this kingdom.
EDITH the bundle of joy she becomes instantly excited meeting a Queen from another universe.
EDITH
Hi! My name is Edith Nox! It’s nice to meet you! I’m really excited to be here!
ANGELIQUE
I can tell little one. Nice to meet you.
ANGELIQUE turns to NOEMI.
ANGELIQUE (cont’d)
And you are sweetie?
NOEMI a nervous wreck as always, but he pushes himself to speak more confidently.
NOEMI
Hello… your highness? My name is Noemi Sol… uh…
ANGELIQUE
You’re a nervous boy, aren’t you?
NOEMI nods and keeps his head down for a bit. Until ANGELIQUE puts her hand on his shoulder.
ANGELIQUE (cont’d)
Hey, it’s okay sweetie. It’s very nice to meet you, Noemi.
NOEMI
Uh… (clears throat and picks himself up) It’s very nice to meet you too ma’am.
ANGELIQUE’S smile made him smile, she turned to VIOLET.
ANGELIQUE
And who might you be? A fearless warrior?
VIOLET with the enormous amounts of confidence you’ve ever seen.
VIOLET
I am Princess Violet Choi of the ??? Kingdom, your majesty.
She kneels as a form of respect toward ANGELIQUE. ANGELIQUE does the same for VIOLET as well.
ANGELIQUE
A fearless warrior indeed. As well as a royal, it is nice to meet you as well. Where are you all from? Earth?
JUSTIN
From a different universe.
ANGELIQUE looked at JUSTIN for a moment, then back at EDITH, NOEMI, & VIOLET.
ANGELIQUE
Really?! We’ve never had visitors from another universe before! It is nice to meet you all! Since you will be our guest for the day, I will have my son and a few of his siblings around to show you around the town.
EDITH
Yay!
ANGELIQUE
Children!
The few siblings assemble quickly. BARA zooming into the throne room with LEANA on his back and ICARUS flying in the room.
ANGELIQUE
Meet some of my children, my second and third eldest and middle child have gone away on trips. But the children around shall show you around.
JUSTIN’S siblings rush up to meet each of their eldest brother’s new friends. Starting with BARA & LEANA who meet EDITH first. Zooming toward her first.
BARA
Hello! I’m Bara!
He says with a smile and thumbs up. LEANA jumps off his back and introduces herself to EDITH as well.
LEANA
Hi! I’m Leana! You’re really pretty!
The excitable EDITH jumps with joy to meet new aliens, BARA an alien with superspeed and LEANA are lioness little girl.
EDITH
Hi! Nice to meet you too! I’m Edith! You’re fast! And you’re so adorable!
She says to both of them. ICARUS lands before NOEMI.
ICARUS
Hey, dude names Icarus. You a Volantigar too?
NOEMI finally meeting JUSTIN’S winged adopted brother becomes nervous.
NOEMI
Uh… no… actually… I’m human… from another universe… I’m also a Necromancer. We usually have… uh… mutations and stuff and I got wings.
ICARUS
That’s cool dude.
NOEMI
Haha… Thanks, dude.
LEANA rushes toward VIOLET.
LEANA
Hi!
Her smile, allowed VIOLET to let her guard down a little.
VIOLET
Hello…
VIOLET (V.O)
WHAT DO I DO?! WHAT DO I DO?!
LEANA
Edith told me your name is Violet. That’s a really pretty name.
VIOLET
Yes… yes, it is and thank you for the compliment.
LEANA
Want me to be your partner to show you a round?
VIOLET smiles.
VIOLET
I’d love that.
NOEMI sees LEANA.
NOEMI
You’re adorable!
VIOLET picks up LEANA like a baby and roars at NOEMI.
VIOLET
BACK OFF SHE’S MY PARTNER!
EDITH walks up to ANGELIQUE.
EDITH
I apologize… she’s a bit rough around the edges… please forgive her.
ANGELIQUE
It’s alright sweetie. Some of my kids are the same way.
She looks at JUSTIN.
JUSTIN
Mom!
EDITH & ANGELIQUE both laugh.
ANGELIQUE
Always a stubborn boy that one. Go now, enjoy the tour of our kingdom.
CUT TO
EXT. FREYR. AFTERNOON
JUSTIN, EDITH, NOEMI, VIOLET, BARA, LEANA, & ICARUS walk into town. Well to be exact, JUSTIN walked, EDITH piggybacked on BARA’S back will super speeding his way. NOEMI & ICARUS flew because of their wings, VIOLET with LEANA on her back used her ice magic creating a road of ice leading to the town. JUSTIN tired from the walk.
JUSTIN
You guys couldn’t have waited for me?!
They laugh at him then continue on. JUSTIN does his whole introduction thing to his friends.
JUSTIN (cont’d)
Welcome to Freyr, the little town that connects to our castle and home to The Mother Tree.
EDITH the lover of nature takes an instant photo.
JUSTIN (cont’d)
Also… (he looks at his watch) It’s almost time you guys!
BARA, ICARUS, & LEANA pull EDITH, NOEMI, & VIOLET near The Mother Tree. It blooms greatly, sprouting alien flowers beyond human imagination. EDITH had clenched both fists together as she was excited for the natural blooming of a tree. A wave of wind had flown near the tree and the fragrance of pomegranate filled the air. A sweet aroma made the denizens of Freyr fill their hearts with joy and content.
EDITH closes her eyes due to the smell, feeling the same feelings as the denizens. NOEMI felt a sense of calmness and VIOLET’S feels some semblance of happiness.
EDITH
What was that?
BARA
The Mother Tree blooms and the smell of pomegranate fill the air with its magical scent.
After that magic moment, the group enjoys a night on the town. They eat food, do fun activities, listen to music, and so much offered to them. They walk toward the castle, EDITH holding a small potted plant as her souvenir from Gaia. VIOLET with a blade made from dark blue crystal, as the handles have a design of a flower. NOEMI a necklace holding onto a diamond in the shape of a star, which in truth has an actual star inside.
JUSTIN is carrying LEANA as she is asleep and as her big brother, his responsbility. BARA & ICARUS tired from their night on the town walk with them.
EDITH
What did you guys get?
VIOLET
I got a Crystal Flower Sword… so pretty!
EDITH
Noemi?
NOEMI
I got Peri a star necklace.
JUSTIN steps into the conversation
JUSTIN
It has an actual star in it by the way.
NOEMI
REALLY?!
JUSTIN nods while smiling.
JUSTIN
Jewelry is usually from the Light Kingdom. My aunt rules there and the kingdom is in the clouds so it’s easy for most jewelers to get some falling stars. And I know your little sister is gonna love that.
The stars in the sky were bright and shining. The friends and siblings arrive at the castle doors. It opens instantly but without expectations. The echo of a slow clap is heard in the room. The friends see ANGELIQUE and the rest of the kings and queens outcold.
JUSTIN, BARA & ICARUS rush toward them with concern.
JUSTIN
Moms! Dad! (He breathes heavily while still holding Leana) What happened?
JUSTIN stands up, tilts his head.
JUSTIN (cont’d)
Violet… Icarus… arm yourselves.
VIOLET & ICARUS knowing what he meant, draw their nearest weapons on their persons. ICARUS summons a weapon with his gauntlet and summons sword. VIOLET’S ice magic makes a sword and she draws the Crystal Flower sword.
JUSTIN (cont’d)
Bara… get your suit now. Take Leana to bed too,
BARA zooms to JUSTIN to grab LEANA and zooms away to find his suit and put LEANA to bed. JUSTIN draws both his weapons his katana and laser revolver. EDITH sets her plant down somewhere safe and NOEMI places the necklace in his pocket. Both summon their magic into their hands waiting for whatever impending attack is to come for them all. All of a sudden a familiar voice echoes throughout the room.
It was IMPERIUM’S voice.
IMPERIUM (V.O)
Hello once again, Time Trickster.
JUSTIN recognizing him instantly, he was quick to react. His face morphed into shock then to anger. He clenched his teeth, his nose crinkled and his eyebrows lowered as he wears his so called “war face”
JUSTIN
Show yourself Imperium.
IMPERIUM (V.O)
I see you brought your new magic friends to our universe. Their magic was quite… what’s the word? (He takes a few seconds to find the right word.) Delectable. Necromancing, Cryokinesis, Empathy. I do enjoy absorbing this… magic.
His voice was calm yet when he spoke it felt more sinister.
VIOLET
Show yourself, you coward!
IMPERIUM (V.O)
Oh, Violet. Always the warrior aren’t you? A scared blood blue little girl hiding behind a heart of steel.
VIOLET
I fear no one.
IMPERIUM (V.O)
Yet I can sense that deep down… you are afraid. I absorbed Edith’s magic… you can’t deny that.
IMPERIUM (V.O) (cont’d)
Noemi… the withdrawn mutant. Forever nervous and hates being left alone. Afraid of standing out. How, pathetic?
NOEMI
Shut up!
His voice trembled a little as he said that.
IMPERIUM (V.O)
Was that your best response to my insult? And Edith… the girl who represses her rage... afraid of what may happen when she releases it.
EDITH’S face shown tears in her eyes, knowing that what he said was true. She remained silent.
He appears before all of them, as he continued slowly claps. The echo finally stops as his hands stopped clapping. He still maintained his primary red color and his same featureless body except for his glowing white eyes. JUSTIN jumps in front of all them and stands as their defender.
IMPERIUM
Time Trickster. Big fan. A pleasure to finally talk to you. (His voice became more emotional. As he switched from sinister to decent) I mean, all you did was chase me down and shoot my ship and thrown me into another universe only to freeze me in time and bury me at the bottom of the ocean. And so far… you haven’t disappointed. I would like to apologize for your parents, I absorbed their energies and gained their power which was most exquisite. Such power they have within them.
JUSTIN
I’m gonna kill you.
His voice lacked emotion but made up with seriousness and depth.
IMPERIUM
That’s the Time Trickster I wanted to see! Legends talk about you as a hero of the universe. A mysterious vagabond who walks forever in time. But to your enemies they speak of you as a monster, fearing the emotionless face of a Time Walker.
JUSTIN charges immediately. IMPERIUM reacts by freezing him instantly.
IMPERIUM
So eager to fight.
Now ready to fight, he slowly walks toward the group. All of sudden everything stops, from BARA’S point of view. He zooms in within his Voltar Suit. A gigantic armored suit. He breaks JUSTIN free and then generates electricity in both hands.
He rushes toward IMPERIUM which he then claps both hands creating a rumbling wave of sound. Which disrupts IMPERIUM’S physical form as it starts to separate itself piece by piece. Looking like an abstract piece of art. JUSTIN rushes back to the group and holds his katana and holstering his revolver. BARA stops his super speed and stands by JUSTIN.
JUSTIN
Get Moms and Dads out of here now.
BARA nods and super speeds his way with their parents in hand. IMPERIUM regains his physical form quickly. VIOLET fires a blast of ice which he absorbs quickly. He turns into a full on ice monster. Forming a sword with his right arm swinging it around at the group. NOEMI flies away ad holds his arms in and has his hands formed in a certain way.
Green energy hand formed around both arms and his eyes glow green and his face showed what appears to be a skull. Ghosts are suddenly summoned and begin attacking IMPERIUM as they try and break down his ice form. ICARUS flies around him while attacking with whatever weapon he summons. All sharp objects even blasters. EDITH begins to breath heavy and her aura turns red.
She roars this scream that sounded of pain and agony and summons what seems to be a beam of “Wrath” and fires it at him. EDITH faints instantly after draining her energy. JUSTIN rushes over and catches her, VIOLET stands in front of both them to defend them from any of IMPERIUM’S attacks.
JUSTIN
ICARUS!
ICARUS lands in front of JUSTIN.
JUSTIN (cont’d)
We need a crystal… they’re capable of absorbing energy. Can you make a containment unit?
ICARUS
Leave it to me!
ICARUS flies out of the room to go to his Workshop. BARA returns to get more licks in at IMPERIUM. The heat from the lightning bolts managed to be absorbed by him and he transforms into a lightning monster. He zaps away the souls and blasts NOEMI out of the air sending him to the ground. BARA with his Voltar suit and tries to be a lightning rod.
He absorbs what he could which helped him to go faster than the eye can see but IMPERIUM freezes him in ice stopping him completely. VIOLET blasts more ice in attempt to slow him down. His right leg absorbing the ice magic as his legs starts to drag. He blasts her with a lightning shock and kneels on the floor in pain. JUSTIN lays EDITH down on the floor and stands up.
He stands up and breathes in and puts both his hands out his eyes glow white. A mark in the shape of an oval appears on his forehead. IMPERIUM just suddenly stops and begins to twitch everywhere. Everyone watches as JUSTIN do this newfound power. All of sudden the absorbed energy begins to fly out of his body.
JUSTIN waves his hand as if he were doing some ancient spell or ritual. The energy absorbed returned to everyone from who he had taken. He reverts to his normal self, a glowing red featureless body with white eyes. JUSTIN’S eyes revert back to normal and the mark disappears. IMPERIUM was on his hands and knees, breathing heavily for air.
IMPERIUM
(Heavy breath in and out) You really live up to the legend.
ICARUS returns with a pink crystal containment unit. It shaped as a rectangular box made out of the material. He hands it to JUSTIN.
JUSTIN
Thank you.
He holds the box out but IMPERIUM holds his hand out to stop him for a moment.
IMPERIUM
Wait… just to warn you. Something dark is coming for their universe.
JUSTIN looks at VIOLET for a second as she also overheard the conversation. He holds the box out and IMPERIUM is imprisoned within the Crystal Box. JUSTIN breathes heavy then a sigh of relief. He sits down with the box in one hand and lays down on the floor due to tiredness.
JUSTIN
Here we go again…

Tesseract: Chapter Three
A Loki x reader that I started over 4 years ago in high school. I’ve done my best to fix it but please, I WOULD LOVE FEEDBACK! Takes place during the first Avengers. Want to be tagged in updates? Let me know!
@malignentmac @fandomsfanman @i-am-supermerwholoked221b
Tumblr media
Loki stopped walking, and stood in front of me. He reached up, and slid my glasses off of my face. I took a shaky breath, my shoulders tensing slightly, closing my eyes and awaiting pain. A pregnant pause passed, and I could feel his hands on my shoulders.
“Open your eyes, Y/N.” Loki murmured.
I slowly opened my eyes, prepared for the blurry haze that was my vision.
Was.
As my eyes adjusted to the lighting, I could see everything clearly, like I was wearing my glasses. Only my glasses were still in Loki’s hand. He smiled, and I walked around like a child seeing the world for the first time. I almost forgot that I was in the presence of someone that was considered a dangerous god.
“Oh my gosh..” I kept saying over and over again, “Oh my gosh..”
He laughed quietly behind me, and I was brought back down to earth.
“Thank you so much, sir.” I said, “I really don’t know what to say.”
“You don’t have to.” he said, handing me back my glasses. “And you may call me Loki.”
“Thank you, Loki.” I said softly, almost ready to cry.
“It was no trouble at all.” he answered just as softly, smiling.
Suddenly, my vision flickered as it had preceding the strange vision I had the day before, this time accompanied by a piercing headache. I gave no external indication that I was feeling weird, but inside I was freaking out again. This time, Loki was not kneeling at all, or looking like he was going to do anything out of the ordinary.
Loki didn’t seem to notice me, but said that it was best we begin walking back to my post. I agreed, as my vision kicked in and out, making me nervous. I stumbled more than a few times as we walked back to the lab area, a combination of my newfound vision and that same vision flickering every so often. When we had arrived at the station, I stood outside the enclosed area. Loki nodded to me, and walked away towards the cleared area. As he walked, the scepter shimmered into existence in his hand. This time, instead of kneeling in the area, he sat cross-legged, the scepter glowing more than normal.
He relaxed his shoulders, and took a deep breath. Again, I was sucked into space with him, perhaps with him unaware yet again. I crouched to conceal myself behind rocks as yet again, the copy of Loki appeared before the real one, cape flowing in a non-existent breeze.
“And so you finally answer our calling.” The strange alien said, pacing behind a rock formation.
“My sincerest apologies, I was distracted.” Loki answered, matching the alien’s pacing.
“Distractions are not a good thing for our guide to have.” the alien said, “When will we be able to send our forces to retrieve the tesseract? Have you yet destroyed the earth’s forces?”
“Let the Chitauri gird themselves.” projection Loki said,  “I will lead them into glorious battle.”
“Battle? Against the meager might of Earth?” the other said, seemingly offended at the proposition.
“Glorious, not lengthy. If your force is as-” Loki paused for a moment. “-formidable as you claim.”
“You dare question us? You question HIM? He, who put the scepter in your hand, who gave you ancient knowledge and new purpose when you were cast out, defeated?” the other said in disbelief.
“I was a king, the rightful king of Asgard! Betrayed!” Loki said indignantly, raising his voice.
“Your ambition is little, born of childish need.” The other hissed, “We look beyond the Earth to greater worlds the Tesseract will unveil.”
“You don't have the Tesseract yet. I don't threaten, but until I open the doors, until your force is mine to command, you are but words.” Loki said, his tone threatening despite his words. “You will know when your armies may descend to lay claim to this world.”
“You will have your war, Asgardian. If you fail, if the Tesseract is kept from us, there will be no realm, no barren moon, no crevice where he can not find you.” the other said, walking closer to Loki’s copy. Standing behind it, the the other slowly put his hand up to Loki’s face, then added threat of his own, “You think you know pain? He will make you long for something as sweet as pain!”
With those words, Loki wrenched his head away from the contact, breaking the vision and returning everything back to normal. My face tingled as if it had been the one in contact with the alien, and my breath came in sporadic gasps. My headache vanished, and I stumbled a little, but recovered myself in time to witness Loki rising quickly, gritting his teeth through his sweat and muttering unintelligible things.
“Y/N,” Loki breathed, “Come with me, please”
He walked away, leaving me to sprint to catch up with his long strides. “I have officially run out of time.” he muttered as we walked back to his room, “I need your help, Y/N. There’s something I need to talk to you about.” “Is it the Chitauri?” I asked quietly, shutting the door behind us as we entered his room.
He stared at me, taken aback by my words. “How did you know of that?”
“When you’ve met with them, I’ve also been privy to what was going on. I thought you were aware of my presence.” I said, “These past two times, when you’ve talked to them about how you are going to retrieve the Tesseract for them, I’ve been able to both see and hear the entire conversation.”
Loki stood silent for a moment, seemingly unsure of how to proceed with the conversation, given that I knew what he was going to tell me. “Then you know that I can no longer stall for time. If I do not move soon, even if it is a fruitless effort, I will be killed. Even you-...” he gulped, then whispered, “Thor… would be killed. They showed me a brief glimpse of what they plan to do to those I care about, and if they survive the initial invasion, it will be horrendous.” he shuddered, beginning to pace about the small room.
“Then, how do we fix it?” I asked, slumping onto the sofa as he continued to pace around. “If they are manipulating you by threatening both yourself, and your brother, how do you begin to back out?”
“Not only are they threatening, they have figured out how to literally control my actions in short bursts.” He muttered, “They want the tesseract. They want to fight earth for it. I don’t know how to fight back when they’ll just take me over if I do the wrong thing.”
“Then don’t fight.” I said, slowly rising from my seat, “Do what they want. But do it in a way that you know they’ll fail. Set them up for their own destruction.” “I like the sound of that.” he said, “I could concentrate their forces where they would face the most opposition. Where would that be?”
“Stark tower!” I exclaimed, “Everyone would see something like that happening in the middle of New York, I have access to the tower, and Fury’s sure to have the Avengers initiative started by now.” “Do you think they could defeat the Chitauri and close the Tesseract Portal in time?” He breathed, “After the energy has been removed from you?”
“If they can’t, there’s no one else that can.” I said, “It’s our only shot.”
“Then let us not discard it.” he said, “I can begin removing the energy as best I can now. Let’s head back to the Tesseract to start the process.”
He opened the door, and we both filed through and began making our way back to the Tesseract. I shook nervously as I walked. This could be the only way to save earth, but it also could end horribly. The energy extraction alone was risky, but if it meant saving millions...
“IRIDIUM!” yelled Dr. Selvig from in the lab, and I nearly jumped out of my skin. “That’s what we need! Some Iridium! It’s perfect!”
I ran up to the lab ahead of Loki, confirming on the screens that Erik had indeed found a match. After Dr. Selvig had babbled on for a while, Barton appeared for the first time since we had left SHIELD’s base, with armed strangers in tow.
“Where did you find these people?” Selvig asked Barton.
“SHIELD had no shortage of enemies.” Barton said. “Is this what you need?” he asked, holding up a tablet with a photograph of the substance.
“Yes, Iridium. It’ll create the antiprotons I need to stabilize the portal.” Dr. Selvig said.
Loki strode up, his countenance recovered and passive tone returned.
Dr. Selvig brightened up at Loki’s appearance. “The Tesseract is showing me so much. It's more than just knowledge, it's... truth.” the scientist said, smiling.
“I know, it shows each of us something different.” Loki said, glancing at me, then turning to Barton. “What did it show you, Agent Barton?”
“My next target.” the archer said.
“Tell me what you need.” Loki said, following Barton to another station.
“I'll need a distraction.” Barton said, grabbing his bow out of its case and snapping it into place with a flick of his arm. “And an eyeball.”
“Very well.” Loki said, then turned to myself and Dr. Selvig. “Assemble a team of people and load this into a the trailer. When Barton returns with the item you need, drive to Stark Tower in New York. Do NOT activate the portal until I return and tell you to.” he ordered, directly to Erik.
Dr. Selvig nodded like a madman, smiling and almost giggling. I nodded, turning to help begin pack Dr. Selvig’s things up.
“Miss Y/N.” Loki said, standing away from the bustle of what was going on.
“Yes?” I said walking up to him.
“The tesseract’s influence on Dr. Selvig is unpredictable. Keep a wary eye that he does not activate the portal before the energy has been removed from you.” Loki said.
I nodded, acknowledging and agreeing with his statement. “I’ll make sure that nothing is done until you return. Where are you going?”
Loki continued to stare at me, some unknown feeling crossing his face and saturating his eyes. “Barton needs a distraction, and so a distraction I shall become.” He said, then lowering his voice. “Do be careful, Y/N.” He pressed his lips to my forehead, then he turned to leave, saying under his breath, “I do not wish to lose you.” With that, he suddenly disappeared into thin air.
“Yes, Loki.” I said, confusion settling across my face, as a warm tingle spread across my body from my forehead to the tips of my toes.
I didn't know what to make of Loki's statement, my own emotions and thoughts clouding my thoughts. I continued packing down the station, delicate equipment creating a very long and complicated tear-down process.
Taking apart and moving the equipment gave my hands something to do whilst my brain tried to sort out my thoughts and emotions. Loki wasn’t at all a bad looking man, in fact I found him quite handsome in spite of his moral dilemma. Was that the reason that I sympathized for him? I wanted to deny it, but part of me knew that though it wasn’t the whole reason, it wasn’t irrelevant either. The main reason that I could find was that I had access to information that proved that this wasn’t entirely his idea. Granted, he did want to rule the earth, or at least rule something, but he did not originally intend to make war with earth to gain power.
I found myself hoping that Loki wouldn’t get captured by SHIELD when he was out helping Barton. I had no idea what SHIELD planned on doing to him, but I didn’t want anything to hurt him. The security guard training I had been brought to know kicked in, criticizing me for sympathizing with a threat to national, even global security. I shoved those thoughts down, I might be biased, but I was right. If given the chance, I was sure Loki could prove himself. The threat of the Chitauri killing him and his brother was driving him to this madness.
A side thought entered my brain, wondering if the scepter the Chitauri had given to him was not only able to influence those he wanted to serve him, but him as well. He always seemed to have it available to him, even if it was through his magic. Perhaps the scepter was under the Chitari’s control, enabling them to control it’s wielder partially, though not completely.  While restarting the computers inside the semi, I came to my final decision. Loki was far from sinless, but I would do what I could to help him come to a place where he could change. I had moved from simple sympathizer, to something more. I didn’t love him, though my heart told me that wouldn’t take long if he did change. For now, I told myself that I just didn’t want him hurt.
It took hours to completely disassemble the equipment, and hours more to set it up within the confines of a semi trailer. I began to wonder if perhaps Barton would be back with the element before we were ready to implement it.
Confirming my suspicions, Barton strode in with a small case, handing it to Dr. Selvig.
“Here you are, Selvig.” Baron said in a monotone, “The element you wanted.”
I expected Loki to reappear at any moment, perhaps try to startle me. But after thirty minutes, I still hadn’t seen a sign of the Asgardian.
Barton seemed to be gathering the few security guards Loki had taken from SHIELD, speaking to them in hushed tones.
“Where is Loki, Barton?” I asked, wondering if perhaps Loki awaited us in New York.
“The Cap and Iron Man captured him.” Barton said, confirming my fears. My stomach sank. If he was in captivity, there would be no way for him to remove the energy from me so we could open the portal.
“Oh.” I simply said, trying to betray no emotion. “What are we going to do?”
“I am taking a team to go get him.” Barton said, “You are staying with Dr. Selvig and driving to Stark Tower as previously ordered.” Barton finished, stressing that there was no ‘we’ in this equation.
“Yes, sir.” I said. “Right away.”
Barton simply nodded in response, and turned to leave with his team. As I finished putting the last few things into the trailer, Dr. Selvig examined the element with glee. He set about shaping it to fit where he planned, using a strange chemical compound and a heated tube, a process I didn’t want to try to understand. The back of the trailer was closed, Dr. Selvig and I working in the back. The trailer rocked slightly as the semi pulled us away to New York.
So it begins.

Always Mine
This is a follow up on "An Interesting Quarry" about bonding with Angor, among other things
Oh, not to be a bother, but please tell me what you think with the comments and reblogs. And yes, I read everything. Including the tags.
And if you want to, you can drop in and make story requests. I enjoy writing, and I need more practice writing things that aren't for my own characters or these Canon x reader stories.
I'll make a guidelines thing later if people express interest in that sort of thing.
After the strange second encounter with the pale troll, you meandered to your cave and, upon finding the first cleared off flat surface, laid down to think. The notion of engaging in a game of cat and mouse, as he put it, was a daunting prospect to say the least.
You left yourself think about all the ways this could end horribly for a few moments before getting up and heading off to scrounge up what you could find on Angor Rot and the Inferna Copula.
You had a long day of reading ahead of you.
After basically scouring every book you could get you hands on, you had precious little to know about Angor Rot and his ring. Or rather the manifestation of his soul after he had made a Faustian bargain. With whom you didn't know, as there was no mention of his dealer.
After returning the tomes to their proper places, you rubbed your head with a sigh. Lingering for a few moments more, you decided to work out your body as much as you did you brain.
The next time you encountered him, you pride was suffering and you were absolutely incensed. You were licking your wounds when he showed up, and you glared at him evilly.
"Leave." You said simply before turning your attention elsewhere.
You felt his stare on your back, and knew he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Still, you made a point to ignore him.
He spoke suddenly and you turned your head to him despite yourself.
"Would you like learn how to avenge you defeat?"
"I KNOW how to avenge my defeat!" You snapped with red hot fury. "I just need a competent sparring partner..." You ended with a growl.
You sensed the projectile more than you heard it and you deflected it with a chakram. In the next instant you were locking blades with the pale assassin.
He smirked at you, his burning eyes half lidded with some unidentifiable  emotion. Amusement perhaps? He usually seemed to be amused around you.
"I believe that I should be sufficient for that task." He remarked.
"Less talking and more sparring." you retorted as you hooked his knee and sent him tumbling.
He rolled away from the descending edges of your weapons, and smoothly rose to his feet.
"I can do that." He hummed.
You glared at him, temper flaring.
'What did I just say?" You hissed, chucking one chakram at him.
He deflected the weapon back at you and lunged forward. And so began the most intense sparring session you had ever been in.
In fact, it was so intense, that both you AND Angor Rot lost track of the time. Up until you burned your hand in the light of the rising sun attempting to retrieve your weapon of choice.
You snatched your hand back with a hissed curse and looked over the trees. Your curse was a guttural growl this time. Something was shoved in your hand and the magician grabbed your arm.
Shoving the weapon into it's pouch, you struggled against his grip of steel.
"Where the hell are we going?" You demanded, yanking your arm away finally.
He turned halfway to look at you with raised brows.
"My apologies. I was under the impression that you would be happy to get away from the sun." He drawled.
Your face went blank, and you nodded slightly.
He held out his arm with that infuriatingly smug, amused smirk of his as he opened a portal.
"Shall we?" He chuckled.
You glared at him for the tone of voice he used, but approached him and took his arm anyway. You could have sworn that he tensed momentarily at the action, even though he had invited it.
"By all means." You quipped.
"Hold tight." He advised before stepping into the portal.
Once over the threshold, you tightened your grip on him and looked around, awestruck by the watery shadows you were moving through. The contrasts and the indefinite lighting would be stuck with you for the next few decades at least. You glanced at Agnor Rot for a moment and thought 'if I live that long'.
When you both came to wherever the assassin had taken you to, you were still gripping Angor's arm in a vice-like grip, still reeling over what you would call the Shadow Realm.
Some time passed before you finally collected yourself and released the uncomfortable troll's arm. You moved away from him and to the other side of the cave.
Silence hung in the air before you spoke.
"Thank you. For this and the spar."
Angor merely grunted in return.
After that, the both of you were content to ignore each other until nightfall, where you parted ways for the time being.
The next time he found you, you were preening over your overwhelming victory. You didn't know how just one sparring session with him could so drastically improve your skills, but you weren't complaining. Your pride was repaired and you were happy.
"So the conqueror returns victorious I take it?" Angor Rot queried.
One (E/C) eye opened lazily.
"You're the one stalking me, but yes. I am victorious." You retorted.
"Do you have any plans to celebrate?"
"Pffft, no. I'm not that vain. No, I'm just going to take it easy. I would collect a few more knick-knacks, but I've been around this block three times."
"Then in that case, perhaps I could take you somewhere new." He mentioned in an off hand manner.
You shot up from your position and stared at him with suspicion.
"Why?"
He was silent as he casually inspected his nails, making a point to not meet you searching gaze.
Finally he gave a weak reply, fashioned to evade your simple question.
"It gets rather boring here, doesn't it?"
You continued staring at him in a deadpan manner, before sighing and pulling yourself to your feet. You walked over to the magician and took his hand. His head snapped toward you, glowing eyes wide with blatant surprise.
You smirked at him, displaying the amusement he usually emitted. So he wasn't big on non-aggressive touching. Go figure.
"Let's go."  You told him.
Angor recovered his composure and nodded, his face contemplative as he opened the swirling blot of darkness that made his portals.
Once again, you were overcome with the strange beauty of the Shadow Realm. Once again you tightened your hold on the assassin.
And once you were though the portal, you turned to Angor with a small smile on your face.
"I'll never get tired of that." you commented.
And with that parting note, you began exploring and collecting. And all the while, Angor's stare followed you with curiosity in his gaze.
Eventually, a routine was formed, consisting of moving from the woods that were outside your cavern to whatever new location Angor had in mind. Though he never seemed to change it until you showed the slightest amount of disinterest. Once you were at the second location, sparring or game of chase was ensued.
Right now, it was sparring and you wanted to test something. There was a lull of stillness and you sucked on your teeth. How well would this play out? Only one way to find out.
You moved forward first, and the next instant, your blades were locked with his. Angor's face was that one of concentration, mixed with enjoyment, while you were trying not to grin as you stepped into his personal bubble, making sure to keep your weapons locked together.
His face morphed into one of startled confusion as your face came increasingly close to his. You hovered there for a moment or two and blew at him. His reaction was strikingly similar to that of a cat's after the same action.
You spun out of his line of vision and put you chakrams away, before brushing a finger up his back. He tensed under your touch, arching his back slightly as if trying to get away from your teasing digit.
When you finger finished it's route, you swept his legs out from under him and pinned his arms, partially hovering over him. His face was blank as he emitted an air of confusion an and surprise, along with many other strange and hard to classify emotions. You smiled down at him, displaying the amusement he usually felt.
"I think I win" you chided before standing and offering a hand.
Angor sat up and stared at you with a bewildered expression. his stare shifted to your hand, and then back to your smirking face. Something must have sold it to him because he started to reach for your unspoken offer. His hand hovered for a moment before grasping yours.
You hauled him up, your smirk shifting to a smile as he continued to stare at you. You raised your brows at his staring before turning to explore your surroundings more.
As such, you missed him shift his eyes to his hand then back to you once again. The assassin's hand curled slightly and his usual smile returned as he watched you.
As your excursions with Angor continued, so did your flirtations.
When the two of you sparred, said flirtations grew bolder and bolder as time passed until your spars were more like exotic dances. And down right provocative ones at that.
When engaging in you cat and mouse games, you would double back and brush teasing touches along his back and arms before bolting to either side of him.
Each time you did anything of that sort to him, Angor would just ... stop working for a time.
Something must have shifted because right now, you were engaged in another game of cat and mouse. Only you were terrified out of your mind and fleeing for what could every well be your life. It felt like you were playing with a stalking instead of Angor. Granted they weren't that different, but you had been comfortable with the latter. And rather fond of him as well.
But enough of that. Where were you? Ah yes, running for dear life.
You were stopped short in that action by a familiar pale stone chest.
Damn this troll and his Shadow Staff.
You jumped back from him, refusing to cower, even if some part of you desperately wanted to.
"Finally got bored, have you?" you snapped at him.
The assassin feigned surprise at your assumption, before he regained his usual demeanor.
"Bored? Oh no. Quite the opposite actually." he hummed as he started to stalk closer.
In that moment you were struck with the realization of just how cat-like he was. The way his eyes glowed with intent. The refined savage grace of his movements. His obvious surety in just about everything. And finally, the predatory air he was excluding that kept you locked in place despite yourself.
By your ancestors, he was breathtaking.
He started circling you then, and you resolutely kept your gaze locked forward. He came to a stop, in front of you yet again. Then Angor Rot began speaking.
"I was right to believe you would be intriguing prey" He reached his hand out and scrapped his fingers up your throat and under your chin. Shivers ran down your back at the action.
"However, I never thought I would become as attached to you as I did." You glanced up and saw his face was pensive as he regarded you. Your gaze quickly averted back to his chest before his eyes could catch yours.
His finger traced along your right jaw as he began leaning in.
"But as that would be the case, I've come to a conclusion." He purred, incredibly close to the left side of your face. Just on the edge of your peripheral, you could see the rings in his eyes. You never noticed those thing rings of back before.
"You'll always be mine, little (Y/N)" He declared, his voice something between a growl and the purr he made just a handful of seconds ago. The right side of your face tingled, and you knew the mark he had made during your first encounter had finally reappeared.
A rumbling chuckle sent vibrations throughout your trembling body. And that's what caused your weak knees to finally buckle.
He caught you of course, and you grabbed a hold of the sash around his waist with one hand, and grappled a hold of his arm in the other.
You stayed like this for a while before you finally got a hold of yourself and pushed off him, outrage painted on your face.
"Was the terror really necessary!?" You hissed.
Silence rang while you glared at him. He met your gaze evenly, the emotion in his eyes disarmingly soft. Realizing that you weren't going to get an answer, you threw your arms up in exasperated defeat and walked away.
Laughter rumbled behind you and your knees were weak once more.
Damn that troll and his sinful voice.
Your excursions continued, as did your sparring and games. Said games usually ended up with someone catching the other and simply saying 'Always mine'. And that someone was usually Angor.
From time to time the two of you would 'knock boots' as the humans would say.
Not much changed.
But of course, change came eventually.
It had come in the form of the Inferna Copula being stolen from your magician. You weren't sure how it happened, but Angor was livid.
He paced like the caged predator he was. He was growling and snarling and cursing the name of the thief. He was the spitting image of an innocent man who had been eternally damned.
You glanced at the small bag you had made for him, and put it back into the larger one you wore. You'd give it to him later.
"Angor?" You finally spoke.
"WHAT." He snapped, stopping his irate pacing to look at you with blazing eyes.
You took a step back as your hands raised to your chest. One began twisting the ring that Angor had crafted for you from his own living stone.
The crystal glowed in accordance with his mental and physical state. At this moment it was blazing with his wrath, and was hot with the same emotion.
Upon seeing the representation his emotions, and realizing just who he snapped at, the pale assassin tried to reign in his temper.
"What is it (Y/N)?" He rumbled.
"Let's go find your ring."
Of course, things went horribly wrong.
The ring stayed lost, Angor ended up being cast away somewhere in chains and under rubble to rot away, and you had been exiled from your cavern for associating with the notorious killer.
Originally they had wanted to kill you and cast your remains into a molten pit. They tried, but the cost had been too high, and so they exiled you with dishonor.
You raged for days, before settling in a cave and sulking. Your skin crawled with the absence of Angor Rot. It felt strange to be so totally left alone to your own devices.
The ring was still warm, so that was reassuring. He was alive at least.
You started a new life in a foreign cavern, keeping the satchel you made safe, and keeping your ring close.
One day it surged to life, and you knew he was free once more. You packed your meager possessions and set off to find him.
Soon after the ring came to life, it's gem was blazing with a familiar anger, while the stone remained strangely cold.
A horrible feeling settled upon you, and you frantically looked for leads to his whereabouts.
Once you caught snippets of gossip about a new Trollhunter, and human one at that, you knew where you would have to go.
Heartstone Troll Market. That's where you would find him hunting his new quarry.
Just as you started collecting your belongings, your ring turned to dull grey stone. That horrible feeling immediately turned to a profound feeling of loss and longing for someone who wasn't there anymore.
That feeling turned into a possessive rage shortly after.
You weren't called (Y/N) the Vengeful for nothing.
One you arrived at Troll Market, you saw the havoc reaped. The remains of crystal golems and trolls alike greeted your eyes.
As you meandered, avoiding the clean up, you came across two human adolescents and a four-armed troll converged around a larger troll with an outstretched hand, turned to stone like so many others.
You approached them, doing your best to look like a lost traveler.
"Excuse me? Could you tell me what happened here?"
As they indulged you, you tried your best not to twist your hand into claws and end the stout one who had assisted with Angor's demise. Instead you crossed your arms and feigned quiet contemplation.
It wasn't that difficult, as you were debating whether or not you should end him. Eventually you decided to spare him from your wrath, as you could empathize with his anger towards your lover's action.
Of course, none of this would have happened if the Trollhunter had simply given Angor's soul back to him and - !
Getting back on track, you tentatively asked if you could see Angor's remains. For closure, you clarified, making something up about your father.
They agreed to that, and took you to the Hero's Forge, and left you alone so you could grieve in peace and so they could continue their own grieving.
You started at the shattered body of the pale assassin uncomprehendingly, before you thought about something he had mentioned in an off-hand manner close to a century and a half ago.
You thanked whatever higher power that Angor had enchanted your bag for more storage.
You gathered up the pieces of him and left before they could connect his remains' disappearance with you.
They would anyway, but by then, you'll already be damned.
A trip to Gatto's Keep rewarded you with bargaining chips to use in the binding contract you were about to strike up.
You looked sadly at he reconstructed remains of Angor and out to the cave across the lake. You sighed and moved to the raft you made.
Once you reached your destination, you hopped onto shore and started the ritual.
Once a feminine voice rang out, everywhere and nowhere all at once, you began to reach into you bag while you spoke.
"I have come to make a bargain with you."
"Of course you have. What have you to trade and for what purpose? "
You shifted on your feet.
"I've come to request that you bring Angor Rot back to the realm of the living, as well as return his soul to him."
"Even I have limits to my power."
"Please." You begged. "I've come bearing the Astral Sphere and the Twin Trickster Stones."
You drew the aforementioned items out of your bag and presented them to her.
There was a pregnant pause, in which you grew more desperate, even if you refused to acknowledge the feeling.
". . . Very well. I will do this, but I require one more thing." The Lady Pale replied.
"Anything." You spoke with conviction.
She paused again and you saw her slim hand appear from the darkness. you obligingly deposited the items in her hand and awaited her third request.
"I've lost my hunter. YOU will serve in his place."
You hesitated then, knowing just what she was asking of you.
"You said 'Anything', Yes?"
Your lips pressed into a thin line a you looked toward the ground. Finally you looked up with a determined expression.
"Anything." You repeated.
The Eldritch Queen chuckled and beckoned you closer. You obliged and came within arm's reach of her.
A clawed hand was placed on your chest, over where a human's heart would be located. The place she was touching began to burn, but you were frozen, unable to scream and writhe in pain.
There was a glow of (Color) and you watched your soul turn into an accessory. A chasm formed inside you and you gasped deeply, falling to your hands and knees, the world darkening around the edges from the suddenness of it all.
You looked to your ring and saw the dull color fade away, the gem glowing and the stone warm once again.
Faintly, far off in the distance, you heard a deep voice scream, forming a single word. 'NO'. They sounded so distressed...
"Go now, my hunter. I will call for you when the time is right."
You stumbled to your raft and left, laying down to attempt to get used to the crushing emptiness inside you. Oh, by Deya's grace, where was your fiery core?
Dully you acknowledged you hit land. You were faintly aware of someone hauling you off the wood.
You were vaguely aware of Angor's golden yellow eyes - oh she had given him another eye, how thoughtful - staring at you, wide with panic. You barely heard him speak, repeating your name and the word 'why' in varying fashions.
"Always mine, remember?" you slurred, smiling sadly up at him.

My First Day in Cadara
If you find any of the sections of stories I write interesting, I’ve tagged every story with “Isen” so if you search for Isen’s name you get every part I wrote.  If you have any questions about my stories, or want to tell me anything, go ahead and send me a message.
First day in Cadara
I wasn’t met by the Ambassador who stayed at the Adestrian Embassy that day when I first arrived and the doors first opened up to me. But he called me to his office on the second day, after breakfast a guard led me to his office. The Ambassador’s office was inside a tall library of private knowledge. The desk was made of wooden from a tree that could support a Mincridarn’s strength. The Dragon sat behind the desk in a rolling chair of modern make, made of steel and reinforced wood, his blue form were covered in a fine stitched set of Adestrian royal garments. Bright red with black detailing. The colors alone made his blue scales stick out like a sore thumb.         He looked up from his computer, or something like a computer as I sat down in the chair, when I was comfortable the guard pushed the chair closer to the desk, and then took his leave. The ambassador straightened up before talking to me and leaned forward to look at me. “Isen Dale on the behalf of our government, please accept my apology for Aldure’s violent actions against you. He thoroughly regrets actions and sends his regards. Please read this letter from the childish Dragon, it’s his personal apology to you. If there is anything we can do to make up for what the Aldure has done please let me know and I shall see if it’s something I can do.” The Ambassador explained pushing a large envelope across the desk stamped with red wax, on the back was Aldure’s name written long ways.          “You’re doing this because you still want me to work for you and your government, personally?”          “I was told you were perceptive, so there is no use in denying it. Yes we would still like you to help our populace get ready for living in your world. When you were assaulted we had to pause our list of applicants. So we would like you to get to work as soon as possible, however we can’t do anything without your approval.” The Ambassador informed and I fell silent thinking about it.          “I want my things from my apartment.”          “Done.”          “I need a place to stay.”          “You can stay here in the embassy.” The ambassador quickly added.          “I need to mate with you ever night.” I quickly said noticing the Ambassador readiness to agree to my response.          “Done…” The dragon said quickly at first and then he flinched and looked at me curiously, and I could see the gears in his head turning, wondering if I had truly had just said what I said. He shifted uneasily and leaned against the desk and looked at me closely.          “What was that last one again?” When he asked this I wanted to burst out laughing because his reaction was priceless. Adestrians were always so serious so it was fun to play with the mood every now and then, and after living with Aldure for a couple of days I was no longer as scared of Adestrians as I once was.          “I didn’t say anything.” I simply countered, and the dragon looked at me boring holes into my eyes to see if I was lying. I kept an even gaze with him, but in the end he sighed in defeat and leaned back in his chair and felt his face. “Maybe I’m just hearing things, because… You know what never mind. Let’s just keep moving on. So is there anything else I can do for you Isen?”          “Can I have my currency exchanged?”          “We’ll need your bank account information for that but it’s doable, but the American dollar is weaker in Cadara and Adestria by twenty three percent. So when you’re currency shifts to ours you’ll only gain eighty six to eight five percent, those percent’s vary based on exchange rate taxes. You do understand this correct?” The Ambassador asked looking down at me and I nodded, though I wasn’t sure about exchange rates, so any kind of money loss didn’t sound good to me.          “I guess that’s fine, it’s not like I can buy anything other than things from this world anyways.” I sighed and the Ambassador nodded and stood up after a moment, and not wanting to feel out of place I joined him, with a simple shake of the hand the Ambassador spoke. “Our contract still holds so you will be gaining a flat salary per month, but if you need anything please ask. I’ll see what I can do.” The Ambassador finished with a firm and iron clad grip before dropping my hand.          “By the way, please refer to me as Sir Baal.” The Dragon simply introduce with a simple bow, and I mimicked him.          “It’ll be a pleasure to work for your Sir Baal.” The dragon nodded and he came around the desk and I followed him to the door.          “I just remembered, I can’t believe this slipped my tongue. Isen I can’t allow you to stay in the Adestrian Embassy. It’ll be too dangerous for you, it’s simply because you are not of Adestrian heritage. You are Mincridarn, it would be breaking the blood oath we have with Royal court of Mincara. Please forgive me, you’ll be able to stay here for a couple of days but you can’t live here. I’ll have to find a place for you to live.” Sir Baal explained somewhat displeased with himself as he explained the situation to me.         I nodded and with that simple conformation the Dragon opened the doors for me. “I’ll try and get you a place to live by the end of the day. So please just enjoy your room for the time being. If you need anything please just ask one of the Adestrian guards, or one of the slaves tending the grounds.” The Dragon explained and I gave a simple agreement and with that the door were closed. A guard showed me back to my room and I stayed in there for most of the day. Looking over the book shelves and maps around the room. Lynn had told me a lot about the world but there was a lot he couldn’t say because of contracts he signed with the government.         Because of the Mincridarn government’s lack of stable military force to protect themselves on earth. They wanted to keep Earth at arm’s length until the people of earth could be trusted. So that’s why humans weren’t allowed to live on Ecorein, which is the name of their entire planet. This arm’s length kind of thinking kept both human governments and Mincridarn governments on edge. This was why negotiations were taking so long.         Apparently Ecorein had eight major continents, Mincara was the Mincridarn home country and where the portal compound was located, I can’t say exactly where though. Mincara was the size of China and Australia mashed together, and it was located east side of the world with most of the country hanging below the equator.         Adestria, the homeland of the Adestrians, was north of Mincara, and was nearly three-fourths the size of Russia and positioned just south of some of the coldest climates. There was a country I had heard nothing about above Adestria called North Arc, which was huddled around the north pole of Ecorein.         The country of Mantra was east of Mincara on the map, it was near the edge of the east side of the map, it was home of the tree dwelling Mincridarins, that Lynn stated where highly spiritual, and life preserving. It was the size of China.         To the west of Mincara was Leggala, the desert dune country, thought it was made up of dunes it was one of the countries with the most history, because Lynn told me that in the beginning all Mincridarins came from Leggala, then set sail on ships and that traveled off to other countries. So there was plenty of archeological studies around Leggala and plenty of mineral rich mines underground. It was the size of Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico mashed together.         Malore, was one of the countries I had never once heard Lynn mention, I knew nothing about it and it was to the far west near the edge of the map and it was just a bit larger than Leggala.         Ende was above Malore, and it was Lynn’s home country, the country of a million graves. It was where the dead of every country was taken and prepared for burial. It was a grassland country that had a similar climate to Iceland, normally a little frigid year around and brutal in the winters. But in the summer it was a country of rolling green hills. Ended was the size of America.         To the south of Ecorein was Winwanra, it was inhabitable because of the harsh cold climate and it was the icy tundra that covered the South Pole. It was the size of America and Russia put together.         I opened books and looked through the texts, glad that magic existed, because the one property about the magical portal I can discuss and is public knowledge is that, when someone passes through it their concept of language shifts to the language of the closest intellectual race. So when Mincridarins came to earth they didn’t need to learn English they automatically understood it, and the same could be said about human’s crossing over to Ecorein. So because there was no TV or radio I was forced to open a book and read.         The book was an easy read and it was a romance between a female warrior and a knight of an enemy country. A very Romeo and Juliet story, and very much similar to the Shakespearian play because the story was written out as a play with dialogue, written with an old style pattern of rhyming. Most parts took me a double take to read, but I could follow along for the rest. So I spent most of my morning reading from the book until a slave a Mincridarn, young female dressed only in a collar approached me and laid out my meal on a table in the room.         She was a beautiful canine with well brushed fur, she didn’t look me in the eyes and kept her head low. She spoke softly, when I gave her thanks she seemed honestly surprised by my words, because she flinched when I spoke them, she even took a sideways glance at me in surprise. Though my words gave her a small smile, and that seemed to be enough for her because she soon left afterwards. Revealing the scars on her back from beatings and whippings, it hurt me deeply to see such a young and beautiful female treated like this, but it was not always a bad thing. Slavery by Mincridarn standards was special, it wasn’t about owning a person but training them.         When a Mincridarn owns a slave they don’t own them, own them, but has a ton of control over them. Slaves are trained by their master’s how to act, and do things. Slave was synonymous with maid or butler by Mincridarn standards. So slaves were owned for a period of time and then let go and that was protected guarantee by law, if a Master broke this law they could be penalized severally. But also when it came to slaves, some slaves were also once previous criminals. Hardcore criminals such as murders and rapists were given two choices serve out their entire sentence in prison, or become a slave. By becoming a slave they were guaranteed freedom at an earlier date but at a cost. Some slaves didn’t always survive the amount servitude required to end their sentence. So it was a good thing, and also something feared, but one of its best qualities is that when slaves ended their service with their master, they weren’t looked down upon when the left. In fact by becoming a slave, it was actually a good thing for most, because they learned how to do things and act; so in the end a slave was more likely to be hired by employers. It was like joining the Military on earth, it was hard and brutal but once done it helped in more than one way.         So when I was thinking about the female slave wondering why she was slave, I ate the meal she brought me; raw meat seasoned with spices, a warm roll of bread with a small side of butter, to tie it all together a pitcher of ice cold water. Once I was finished eating I moved to the bed and opened the letter of apology from Aldure.         Some of what he wrote sounded like there was a blade to his throat, it felt restrained and passive aggressive, but apologetic all the same. Towards the end there was a sense of sincerity in his writing, so when I finished reading the letter I didn’t think too much about it. Aldure was probably beaten by his father for his actions, this letter was probably the easiest thing he had to do. Mincridarn parents had no problem with being violent with their children, since corporal punishment was normal amongst families; for most Mincridarins it was actually strange if you didn’t do it.         The afternoon passed on slowly, and so I took a nap and was soon enough woken up by a female servant, the same abused canine from before. She gave a kind smile. “Master Dale, your dinner is ready for you when you want it.”          “Thank you.” I simply stated and the females tail wagged softly behind her, I sat up and yawned, and before I could do anything the female offered me a glass of water. Which I drank trusting the female; it was a nice way to wake up, since the cold and refreshing drink helped clean out the dryness in my muzzle.         When she was done she went to the wardrobe, “I have a prepared a warm bath for you Master Dale, would you like me to wash your back, or would you prefer one of my sisters?” The female asked as she came to the side of my bed looking down at me with a kind smile, a towel draped over her arms. I nodded, it wouldn’t be bad to take a bath and relax anyways.         The bathtub was a large wooden tub was well carved, and large and deep enough for an Adestrian. Though it was only half way filled. Some of the Mincridarn technology was still very old fashioned like plumbing and modern electricity, but that was quickly changing because of human influence. Most of the city when I came up to the royal palace was already under reconstruction.         The female helped me undress and then helped me into the bath. I sat on the bench built into the tub, the water came up to my midriff. The water was warm and soaked deep into my fur, I then looked at the female who put a bucket into the water and brought it over my head. I closed my eyes as warm water was poured over me. My entire body was matted down with my wet. I then heard the click of a soap bottle. I didn’t say anything, I just let the female work my limbs as she was trained to do. Her hands massaged my skin and filled my fur with suds. Her touch was gentle and seamless, she moved with such elegance, her hands didn’t once leave my body other than to fill my fur with more suds. I cleaned myself between my legs and my legs themselves.         A bucket finished off the bath and cleaned out my fur of all the suds. I was wrapped in a towel and she dried me off, whenever I praised her, she gave a simple thanks but I could tell she was excited, since being a slave was a thankless job. The female took me to the table and as I ate she brushed my fur down. She was startled and utterly confused when I offered her a piece of my meal. She seemed worried that I was playing with her, but she didn’t refuse it when I offered it to her again. She gave a few moans of pleasure, out of sheer enjoyment, loving the taste of the meat provided.         When she was done brushing me she laid pulled out some fine clothing, when I was done eating she buttoned a form fitting silk blue vest decorated with gold stitching over my chest, and helped me into some black cotton pants with leather armor around the legs, and crotch. When it came to my feet she slid a pair of black socks over my digitigrade paws. When I was dressed she left me alone, wishing me a good night and thanking me for the small meal.
