i had a really complicated, long and vivid dream last night. and i remember thinking as i was waking up that it was a genuinely really interesting, well written story. but now i CANT REMEMBER ANY OF IT fml

my yandere awakening was in 2017 and little ol' me discovered the website quotev. I, being the kid I am, read normal stories at first until I read one about jack frost from rise of the guardians where he follows you everywhere and even freezes the peeps he doesn't like. After that I found another one that was about a demon and it's still one of the best yandere fics I've ever read on that website and then it's all downhill from there lol
i got started on quotev too!!!! i think i was already vaguely aware of yandere when i stumbled onto that site since i remember frequenting the general 'yandere' tag pretty often, but i do vividly remember accidentally ending up in those forty-three part quizzes that also doubled as long-form fics which,,, just always seemed to have thirteen love-interests and a werewolf character? for some reason? obviously, they always fucked, but i stg they never made any sense.
also - i feel like the whole 'the first fic you read is peak literature and it only goes downhill from there' is just sorta,,, the quotev experience. i remember one of the first things i read on there being a completely finished yandere!kyoya fic with, like, a real narrative arc and as much physiological tension as fourteen year old me was capable of comprehending, and i have yet to reach that high again. it's like being nursed on the ambrosia and nectar that flows down from olympus and then getting cursed to eat mortal food for the rest of your life. kinda unfair but whatever, i guess.

YIPE finally a game that i’m actually ‼️‼️‼️ about. @nickclose tagged me to do a book ask(?) game OFC i’m doing this one
book that pleasantly surprised you: the maid by nita prose!! i don’t remember much of what i thought of it before reading it or reallt after finishing it but i do vividly remember finishing it and closing it and being SO happy bc i liked it so much more than i thought i would. there was one kind of romantic subplot i wasn’t a huge fan of but it was easy to ignore. i should reread it i don’t remember much of it ough……
book that disappointed you: milk fed by melissa broder. i can genuinely say i hate that book. i used to have goodreads (deleted it) and it was the only book i actually left a review on bc it sucked so much. like all the reviews i saw before reading it were good they were like this is such a profound and funny and well-written book but then i just. it finished it and it absolutely drained my soul of any will to live. if THAT book can get published any book can get published i stg. i don’t even care about being brief about my hatred for that book here it is so fuckinh surface-level in its exploration of disordered eating and toxic mother-daughter relationships and queerness and religion. saying there’s ANY exploration in any way gives it too much credit. the character of. i don’t even remember her name she was so unmemorable. the ‘romantic’ interest was so one-dimensional. we learned basically nothing about her other than the fact that she’s jewish and fat and the narrator really fucking fetishizes that to the point that the interest isn’t even a fucking person which is just FANTASTIC storytelling when she’s supposed to be falling in love with her. then the entire second half of the book is just really shit lesbian erotica (if you can even call it that). the scenes weren’t even shit in like the way erotica written by men is shit. genuinely every chapter was like 2 pages and so the sex scenes were just like. ‘i licked her clit then fingered her then she came.’ i’m hardly exaggerating it was the least sexy shit i’ve ever read. it’s just so fuckinh shit from front to back it made me want to claw my own eyes rather than finish it.
current read: the master and margarita by mikhail bulgakov! it’s taken me a while to get through bc i’ve just been lazy but oh my godd it’s a lot of fun and insane and it’s kind of making me lose my mind it’s very good

RoxyXBen Reilly: This one was full of angst because I used to have a verse where Roxy dated a Peter Parker who passed away. Seeing Ben was like getting a second chance but also a completely clean slate because Ben was a completely different person.
DarrenxMayday Parker: A longggg time ago I had a partner who played Mayday. She was probably the first person I ever got to use Darren with and they were just so cute together. Just two kids in love with family members who knew each other from crime fighting.

TianaXMulan: No I cannot explain. In like 2009 there was this massive community of people on YouTube who would edit Disney princess characters together like they were in love with all sorts of music and whatever. I honestly think this foundation of YouTube edits is what transitioned into all those Rise of the Tangled Brave Dragons edits that plagued the 2010s. Anyway there were a LOT with Tiana and Mulan and it just felt right.
TianaXSteve Rogers: Similar vein of Disney content but later. After the 2012 Avengers movie came out the Disney Youtube editors were shipping these cartoons with the live action Avengers. Hilarious but I genuinely think they would've had good chemistry. When I started rping as Tiana on Tumblr I did have some really good threads with a Steve Rogers rper who I don't think is active anymore.
TianaXCharlotte La Bouff: I promise these are not all Tiana ships but the Tiana ships are the ones I remember so vividly in my fandom life. This one is so good and honestly I'm fine with them in a throuple that has Naveen in it too. I think Tiana just deserves all the love she can get her hands on.

Swan Queen: I stg I was robbed. All OUAT ever did was piss me off and spit in my salad. You wanna talk about enemies to lovers you COWARDS? COPARENTING POTENTIAL? ABC WHEN I FIND YO- I have only once exception to my love of this ship and that one is below.

me internally: araki really messed up when moody blues was flying that plane. let's pretend the flight conditions were exactly the same that day (how would he know). let's pretend that the conversation with the tower went exactly the same (thank God for it). now. my problem when the condition of the fucking aircraft changed yet moody blues was still able to fly the aircraft without any noticeable changes. I dont know about you but I think a hole in the side of the plane would cause the aircraft to respond differently. have you ever driven a car when its windy? imagine if you still continued to drive the car as if it wasn't? why did Abbacchio not say Anything? at one point he started losing control surfaces? you know like.. the things that make the aircraft turn in the air? why are we all pretending like the pilot had this exact same problem on their last flight? this isn't part of the ask game, but i just had a thought. idk if your PE class did this, but we had a square dancing unit??? and i remember it vividly because i loved it. i almost loved it as much as our gymnastic unit. and also, do you remember the big giant colorful tent thing that everyone held an end of and then you all went under and the light went through the translucent tent thing??? yeah. that rocked.
I’m so glad we had the same experienced dude the square dance unit was so much fun? like it genuinely was. and I wasn’t flexible to the gymnastics unit wasn’t super fun for me, but like. the PARACHUTE. that was. asjhasfjhbs omg when I was a freshman in high school we convinced our PE teacher to smuggle one of those things over from the elementary so we could play with it and she DID IT. that was the best day of my life I stg
