FOOTNOTES
Lero appears to have a speech defect, though it's not entirely clear what the rules are. It calls Road ろーとタマ rooto-tama, with a hard "t", and calls the Earl 伯爵タマ hakushaku-tama ( -tama is a cutesy variant of -sama, but may be used here because it's physically incapable of making certain sounds). It also ends all its sentences with "lero", which I'm keeping in for now but may remove later if the number of characters doing that gets too obnoxious.

The word used here was 転換 tenkan "conversion, diversion, changeover, switchover, commutation" and the furigana say "convert", but that reads awkwardly. Since I don't think this really comes up again, it's just him deliberately willing the weapon to switch forms (something he's not used to doing yet, but will be later), I went with something more easily parsed. Footnoting just in case I'm wrong about that.

Road says the Earl is 兄弟 kyoudai with her, a term meaning "brothers", "siblings" or "brethren". It can describe both blood relations and chosen family. In this case, I suspect it's both.

偽りの神 itsuwari no kami, "falsified/fictional/fabricated God". Itsuwari is not an adjective meaning "fake, false", but a noun meaning "deliberate fabrication with intent to deceive". The Order's God isn't just lying, it is itself a lie, told by someone. Who could fake an entire god? How? Why?

the coconut rosemary hot choc from this morning that i was craving in my dreams 💖
the postcards i paint and send to my friends and the letters they send back
the teabags gashbin sent me that i keep preciously and drink with lots of care
cooking with loved ones (especially pizza from scratch)
walks by the river where my feet are starting to know the way
toddlers who smile back at u/ babies in their strollers/happy dogs on walks with their owners
planning and making gifts and seeing people open them and the joy on their face
the voice of someone i love on the phone
dipping my feet in the sea after 2 years of missing it deeply. it was a small creek with almost no people and the water was so clear and cold.

i was tagged by the lovely nita @sheherazade, ty!!! she tagged my main blog @daisypinkbee but i use this blog mostly (that one has YEARS of me hitting post limit daily in high school and this one is so neat and tidy and tagged nicely gjsks)
3 ships: it has occured to me while trying to come up with 3 ships that i don't actually ship that many things! but zelda/link from breath of the wild have been On The Mind lately, especially since i was playing botw in master mode recently, and i love them both a lot... all the waiting and the pining and like. princess/appointed knight what can i say. lan zhan/wei ying of course, because i recently watched the untamed (and then rewatched twice and roped two friends into watching it with me as well)... lan zhan waits for him for so long and sticks up for him and theyre so in love... once again, all the waiting and the pining... i recently watched orphan black with my older sister and brother and loved delphine/cosima... lovely scientist ladies in love against all odds... technically these are just the ships from things i've most recently watched or played, especially the last, but. they're all still good!
last song: the last song i listened to was actually on nita's recommendation - dear wormwood by the oh hellos, which was very good! before that though was two by sleeping at last which i've been listening to on loop for a while because it's just my words taken straight out of my head
last movie: i've been watching movies with my 4 year old nephew and last night he chose wreck-it ralph, which was fun! the last movie i watched because i wanted to was ratatouille though gjdjsk
currently reading: just finished my reread of call down the hawk by maggie stiefvater about an hour ago and it's actually probably the first book i've read all year. as for what's next, i've been wanting to read howl's moving castle by diana wynne-jones because i love the movie so much, and i've been wanting to read little weirds by jenny slate for a while too!
currently watching: i've been watching whatever my older brother and sister are watching at night before bed and they're currently watching some show about mary queen of scots called reign which is a little overdramatic for me and also gets kind of dull at some points BUT. there are lots of pretty women in period clothing and also king francis wears That Outfit once with the low v-neck white shirt and the high-waisted black pants like. okay mr. howl pendragon. so it's not all bad! i'm also watching the episodes of infinity train book three as they come out and i'm very excited about it!!
currently craving: i could definitely go for a mango right now they're fucking fantastic. also i miss my friend's hugs i could go for one of them too they are also fucking fantastic fjdksks

Who could tolerate the crying of baby Jackson for longer && continue to pretend to sleep ? They’d both become masters of the game . . . but at 2am, three minutes of baby wailing can feel like an hour . His lovely wife had given up && gone to see about Jackson && BJ had been absolutely GIDDY with himself && his nerves of steel... better luck next time , ‘Nita !
but the crying had not stopped . . . he doesn’t know how long until the baby quiets , but when he does Anita does not return . Concern forces his eyes open . Fuck .
Eventually the g u i l t eats away at his resolve -- not like he was going to sleep much more anyway -- && he grudgingly tears the pillow off of his face to go see about his missing wife .
Bleary eyes catch sight of her outside the nursery door , he asks if she’s alright , && of course she isn’t . He KNOWS that look all too well... he knows what okay looks like, especially on HER face.
When she breaks , cradles her face in her own hands , BJ is quick to reach out && pull them away . He replaces them with his own calloused fingers , cups the sides of her lovely face && smooths a thumb along her porcelain jaw.
“baby, honey , sweetheart...”he gruffs , voice still crackling from sleep . He searches for the right thing to say , the right affirmation to take the fear && anxiety from her shoulders .
