It's never been released but it's a multi-chapter Kylo x reader fic where reader is also an apprentice of Snoke's and Rey tempting Kylo back to the light causes all these problems. I've had the story planned out and semi-written for years now. I love my ideas for it but I don't think I'll ever have the time or energy to finish it/put it out there to the world.
16. What are your writing strengths? I feel like I'm mostly known for my smut writing abilities because I not only write smutty fics but also write smutty audios. Most of my followers call me "smut goblin" lol
But I have been told that I'm good at writing about powerful emotions connected with SA. And that I'm good at the characterization of various characters.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I'm too hard on myself and I think I suck. I also think I'm awful at writing descriptors. Like describing what clothing looks like or a place or things like that.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I've done it a little bit in A Place To Escape. I wanted Evangeline to have a native language that she used once or twice that Kylo wouldn't understand. But I ended up just using Italian words because.....reasons lol
19. First fandom you wrote for? Oh god....I'm not even sure now because I've been writing for so long. But when it comes to my Ao3 it would be Once Upon A Time (Rumbelle for life!)
20. Favourite fic you've ever written? Gonna have to say A Place To Escape because I put my heart and soul into that fic. And it's also the first ever multi-chapter thing I EVER finished.

18. Would you consider writing an original work in 2024?
Definitely! I have two 'novels' that are ready to be proofed, edited, and pitched. One is adventure, one is horror. Both with romance too. I have a few more ideas for novels I want to write too. The problem is always choosing which one to write first!
I have a supernatural story with some occult stuff and the Devil; a wintery adventure story; an action hitman story; a joint modern adventure/old west suspense story; a comedy FBI story; and a suspense murdery mountaineering story.
21. What character do you think you'll leave behind in the new year?
As of now, I'm only writing for Jacques, Flip, Mills, and Kylo. I don't think I'll officially leave anyone behind, but Kylo interests me the least these days. I've never been into space Kylo and I've only written AU's for him. I'm not closing off the possibility for more Kylo AU's in the future, but these days when I think of AU's, I want to write them with Jacques. And I need to write more with Mills too.
Btw We need to get our asses back in gear and get some serious writing done in 2024!

Mine are all from other fandoms, but just in case any Reylos still follow me or your sexual awakening was also Jareth the Goblin King 😂, I'll share my 5 favorite fics that I’ve written w/ all the old shit I made for them:
1. when the moon met the sun in the sky [reylo fantasy au | E | 71k | 20/20] — To date my proudest work, just because it was fun to try and attempt to evoke a Miyazaki-style fantasy world, and the world-building was so much fun.
"Who?" Rey asked.
She knew who. But she didn't know what else to say.
The man called Kylo Ren — Ben, her mind whispered — rolled his shoulders, a tick she'd seen before, a thousand times at least; an echo of a boy she used to know.
He seemed to notice. He took a tentative step toward her. When she flinched in response, he froze.
"Don't do that," he said, soft as a psalm. His dark eyes darted over every inch of her.
"Do what?" she asked.
"Lie."
2. Boon [reylogan heist au | E | 39k | 12/20] — This is such a niche fic in the first place because it’s a crossover between SW and Logan Lucky, but man, it was so fun and Rey/Clyde are so soft. I’d never attempted to write a heist and I obviously didn’t finish but I still have a fondness for this (permanently? IDK) on hiatus little fic.
“Your jar looks like it’s full of stars,” Sadie said, gaping at it.
“It does,” Clyde agreed. He raised his own. “Time to set them free?”
Sadie nodded, skipping into the night to release hers. As Rey turned to follow, Clyde snaked his good hand around her wrist.
“Follow me.”
He led her around the house, where the night felt denser, darker, somehow warmer. Underfoot, wild daisies swayed in the dying summer breeze.
“Here,” he murmured. She smiled at him, then twisted the top of her jar off. He followed suit. Together, they shook the little bugs free — to fly away, blinking little lights in the darkness; hazy yellow stars they might touch.
3. Crown Glass [reylo fantasy au | M | 4k | 1/1] — I love this one because it just sort of came into being; a prompt/gift one-shot that took on a mind of its own, but I got to play more with present tense and some high-fantasy elements bouncing around in my brain.
She shouldn’t be able to find it. But she does.
It stands tall, tucked away in the back of the cellar; she weaves through abandoned armor, crusted cauldrons, and shelves and shelves of spellbooks to reach it. It’s old, ancient even; she can feel that, even if she’d never set eyes on it, full-length and ringed in circles of crown glass that shimmer in the gloom.
She reaches out a hand, skimming the surface–
And then a world appears on the other side.
A room, awash in milky moonlight. A desk, buried by books. A bed…
And a man.
She draws her hand back, heart thumping as loud as the magic in her ears.
The world flickers and fades back into blackness.
4. This is the Sign You've Been Looking For [reylo modern au | E | 29k | 10/10] — My first real Reylo fic and what got me back into writing after years away, so I have to give it credit! Also my first ever AU, and Virgin artist Ben Solo and sign maker Rey were so sweet and sad but with a nice HEA.
"I'm sorry," Rey murmured, drawing close. She could only seem to look at her feet.
He pressed a large palm to her face, tilting her head up to look at him. The music filtering in from the living room was noticeably softer; vaguely, Rey recognized Elton's "Your Song" playing in the background and decided it was a good idea to rest her hands on Ben's hips.
He glanced down at her touch, swallowing hard.
"Don't be," he hummed.
5. Muse [Labyrinth canonverse fic | E | 82k | 20/20] — I have a lot of Feelings about this fic, but I have to include it even though a part of me wants to edit it into oblivion, haha. I feel like I’ve come so far as a writer since finishing this in my early twenties, but I’ll always appreciate this for how it helped me improve, for how it gave me an avenue to do more with fantasy world-building, and for the nice response it got in a small little fandom.
"Why did you give me the peach?"
He stared at her, his expression unfathomable.
"Are you going to answer me?" asked Sarah quietly.
"You know why I gave it to you," replied Jareth, "To make you forget."
"No," continued Sarah, "I know. That wasn't what I meant. Why did you give me the peach, knowing that I would never be able to leave after taking a bite?"

Enemies to lovers is pretty much my go-to wlw trope. I find that childhood friends to enemies to lovers often works even better because they have a history.
Still, I have found few examples of "true" wlw enemies to lovers in series, much less in books. I have found many "don't like you much", "been a moron to me several times", "academic rivals" and even "on opposite sides of a universe-threatening war", but neither of these necessarily equate enemies.
I know that fanfiction does this trope better because it relies on what you know about the characters and their shared history, but I'm starting to wonder whether there's some kind of animosity between the trope and writing exclusively about women (or girls). It's like the phase of pure hate is never fully realized. Why? I mean, we have all these memes about women's resentment being eternal, about women's endless state of competition against other women, and then we can't have new media where the characters genuinely hate each other's guts for a while before becoming all soft?
I've found the trope to be generally better executed in mlm media (and fanfiction of course!). Sadly enemies to lovers isn't usually my cup of tea when it comes to mlm, as I favor the more tender friends to lovers trope. It's just a preference and I guess it's simply because I tend to prefer my women feral and my men soft.
As for m/f, I haven't found any enemies to lovers storyline that I was excited about in modern media. Straight enemies to lovers seems to me the most lazily executed trope ever, and it's usually just an excuse for the guy to act like a jerk. I once stumbled across a Reylo fic right after TFA and I was mildly interested in the idea, so I started reading it. It was only after some chapters that I realized that Kylo Ren had already raped Rey, threatened her and turned her into some kind of trophy wife that I understood what kind of story I was reading. I realized that, for many readers, that was what m/f enemies to lovers was about. Really fucked me up in the head, and I read lots of very fucked up stuff. But it was the fact that this story seemed to be so innocent and was virtually clueless about its message what really got to me.
The only m/f enemies to lovers that I have liked have been those in classic novels, such as Pride and Prejudice or Wuthering Heights, though arguably those aren't enemies either or aren't a romance per se. Might also be the reason why I tend not to identify with any lesbian novels unless they're not a romance per se or they're not overtly lesbian (covertly lesbian I'm an expert of).
I just don't see myself in contemporary lesbian romance books. And I find it weird that I identify more with Catradora or Caitvi, or even any cheap m/m vampire/werewolf book, than with situations I have also experienced and been a part of. It's like - it's all dumbed down, it's watered down. Not all of them, of course, but it's like the world is way more dangerous in my experience, romance has sharp edges to it, pain is often difficult to overcome, there are many shades of you that you still don't know about, and these books aren't even giving me female characters that are fleshed out to begin with.
Just a rant, just my experience, and just a bit sad that I can almost never join in the excitement of ooooh check out this new lesbian couple on this series because I dngf about them, they're barely characters to me and to the screenwriters, and I dngf about girls getting kissy and huggy without any depth to it.

i don't understand people who specifically choose to sugarcoat abusive relationships and turn them into some tepid ship-slop that retains zero character. don't get me wrong, i love glorifying violence myself, but what's the point if you just remove/ignore all the *violence*?
i'm not sure which ship this is about if you have a specific one in mind but i can tell you that it applies to all the ships that i personally have feelings about lol
i think this is, in general, a part of two common fandom phenomena that i think have the same root
1. people want to engage, not in canon, but with a distorted facsimile of canon that is generally simpler, happier, funnier, and trope-ier.
"coffee shop aus" are a common symptom of this and a common way of maligning this. idek if coffee shop aus are popular anymore? i feel like fandom generally moved on from them as more people a) experienced the reality of customer service labor and b) became embarrassed of them because people made fun of them
but i still regularly see high school aus, modern (as a shorthand for contemporary and mundane) aus, flower shop aus, etc. which are all basically the same thing
i can't tell you what the appeal is of wanting to engage with a story by sanding off all of its features and using the actors in it as face claims for your YA origfic, because i do not feel it myself
and
2. the specific and overwhelming desire/tendency for fandom to latch onto villains (or morally complex/grey characters), turn them into featureless grey blobs full of generalized anxiety disorder, and then slowly nurse them back to health at their teat
i have no idea what the appeal of "woobifying" villains is, especially since every single villain gets woobified the exact same way, so really, it's more about picking an actor you want to have sex with and projecting the same sad kylo ren backstory onto them
BOTH of these things come from, in my humble opinion, the fact that most people who are very into fandom, are actually more interested in Fandom than in the source text of whatever fandom they are in
i don't want to speak in a way that makes it sound like i, tumblr user cornelius hickey, am somehow uninvolved in fandom or better than people who are
i think it's very clear that fandom is one of my primary hobbies. it is how i enjoy spending my time and it is a space where i enjoy creating my work (primarily writing and meta)
but i have always personally felt disappointed by the (now predictable and expected) experience of going into a space where people claim to be discussing [thing i have watched/read recently and become obsessed with] and find that instead it is more of the same featureless blobs doing the same featureless blob things they have been doing since i was ten years old, and since god only knows how long before then as well
all to say that if you would ever like to glorify some violence, you are welcome and encouraged to do so in my ask box

Hello hi, it's me, ms. 666. I have a ficlet request! How about cannoli(sh) kylux in the reality show Survivor?
Congratulations on winning a ficlet! :D Since I have never watched Survivor, I read a description of how the show works and poked around the Survivor Wiki a bit in order to write this. I've decided to go with the pre-Covid format of revealing the winner during the Reunion. Please forgive any inaccuracies.

Armitage was not looking forward to the Survivor Reunion Show. He'd spent the last few months trying to forget the 26-day ordeal, and it was only the potential million-dollar win—and the guaranteed $10,000 attendance bonus—that had him taking a deep breath and walking onto the Los Angeles set now.
It should have been an easy win for him. Not only had he been taking care of his own basic needs since he was five years old, but every summer between the ages of 13 and 18, his father had abandoned him in the wilderness somewhere, telling him to find his way back to civilization on his own. There was no one on Earth better prepared to handle being left on an island with only the clothes on his back than Armitage Hux.
But Armitage had learned quickly that Survivor wasn't just about survival skills. It was also about manipulating other players into favoring you so you could avoid being voted off. This was not something Armitage had ever had occasion to learn, especially from Brendol Hux, who rather infamously had managed to make no alliances, at work or socially, in his entire life.
Unfortunately, one of the other contestants, who had made it all the way to the final two with Armitage, happened to be a natural manipulator. Kylo Ren had a way of ingratiating himself to people; if his wry wit didn't do it, all he generally had to do was take off his shirt or carry something heavy. He looked absolutely sinful eating a banana...or doing anything, really. And he knew it, and he used it to his advantage.
Not only had Armitage had to watch Kylo win immunity after immunity, but he'd had to pretend to like him, too, at least when talking with the other contestants. Because if they knew how much Armitage hated Kylo, they would have voted Armitage off long before the end. As it stood, Armitage had only made it as far as he had by going along with whatever the others were doing and occasionally sharing his survival knowledge with them. Kylo was almost guaranteed to be the final winner, and it was infuriating.
"Hey," a deep voice practically purred in his ear, thrumming so low Armitage's stomach flip-flopped. Big hands came up from behind to rest on Armitage's hips. "Long time no see."
"Not now, you cretin," Armitage hissed.
Kylo squeezed Armitage's hips, then let his hands slide away, thick fingers just grazing Armitage's outer thighs. "Later, then," he said, shoulder-checking Armitage as he made his way to the castaway seating.
"Fuck off," Armitage muttered at Kylo's unfairly broad back.
He'd been trying to forget that, too.

"The winner of Survivor is..."
Kylo Ren, Armitage thought resignedly.
"...Armitage Hux."
Armitage blinked. "What?"
"You're kidding," Kylo said.
"What?" Armitage said again.
"What the fuck," Kylo said.

The reunion show normally would have begun right after the announcement, during which the contestants would share what they'd been up to for the past few months and reminisce on things that had happened during the game.
Things went differently this time.
"This was obviously rigged," Kylo roared, leaping to his feet and sending his faux-stone bench flying. "I was the clear winner." He stormed to the urn, snatched it up and hurled it to the floor of the set, where it smashed into shards.
"You have no actual survival skills," Armitage yelled at him. "All you know how to do is trick people. I deserved to win."
He did deserve it. And he'd done it.
Kylo's head whipped up, his dark, angry eyes fixing on Armitage's face, and Armitage's heart skipped a beat. Then Kylo was barreling toward him, grabbing him by the shoulders, backing him up against the nearest fake palm tree.
"You think you're so perfect," Kylo snarled into Armitage's face.
"And you think you deserve whatever you want, just for existing," Armitage snapped back.
"I hate you," Kylo growled.
"I hate you."
"Now seems like the perfect time to show our first clip," host Jeff Probst broke in.
"And we're clear," called the producer. Behind her, the large flatscreen that showed what was currently on air flipped from the live feed to a recording. Armitage might not have noticed, except—
"Yeah," came the sound of his own voice. He sounded winded. "This is what you're made for, isn't it?"
Armitage's eyes widened. He almost didn't dare look at the monitor. When he did, he recognized the exterior of one of the huts back in Fiji.
The hut was shaking.
"They're doing it in there," one of the other contestants said in voiceover. "They've been doing it almost every night. They think we don't know."
"I would have voted against both of them way earlier, but I wanted to see what would happen. I mean, they kind of deserve each other, right?" said a different contestant's voice. "Assholes."
"And we're back in three, two," the producer called, miming the "1" and pointing to Jeff on zero.
"Looks like you two really made a love connection," Jeff said, giving Armitage and Kylo a sly grin. "When did this all start?"
"I refuse to indulge this—" Armitage began, but then Kylo said:
"The very first night. I knew he wanted me from the moment he saw me."
"You're the one who couldn't keep his hands to himself," Armitage retorted, because while he had his dignity, he could not let that stand. "Even today, right here—"
"I think we have a clip of that, too," Jeff said, and the flatscreen flipped to a recording of Armitage and Kylo standing at the edge of the set, Kylo's hands gripping Armitage's hips.
"Idiot," Armitage said, just as the live feed resumed.
"You're hot when you're pissed off," Kylo told him mockingly.
"You goddamn piece of shit," Armitage started to say, but he cut himself off this time, grabbing Kylo by the hair and thrusting his tongue into Kylo's mouth. Kylo pushed closer, and the fake tree behind Armitage collapsed, and Armitage and Kylo fell to the floor, mouths still locked together.
"Let's chat with the other castaways," Armitage thought he heard Jeff say. It didn't matter. Kylo was trying to subdue Armitage's tongue with his own, and Armitage wasn't about to let him.

Nope! I've borrowed plenty of visual resources (gifs and such) from Girls, but I've never seen the show. I didn't plan on watching Girls when it was still airing. I'm not invested in coming-of-age shows about messy women in NYC... been there. Lived it. I can't with Sexy and The City, I can't with Broad City, and Broad City seems vivacious and funny. Girls seems so depressing. I don't want to see Lena Dunham's interpretation of Brooklyn, for that matter. Idk why I think Girls could be filed somewhere alongside Euphoria... the creative human ooze behind these stories, whether compelling or not, is too intertwined with the material. It doesn't gel for me. Ba-dum-ch.
So Girls is cursed. Anyway, faceclaims!! Faceclaims for my Kylo Ren OC!! Maybe none!! Kylo-Ben looks a little different in my head. Of Driver but not Driver. If ever I were to orphan my trinity (+murder!kylo) of Bens, I might choose to drop the face claim altogether. Tbh I'm not sure that I'd ever do that. If/when I do leave this blog behind, I might keep writing him off Tumblr with a select few.
The thing is I already have an OC that's very Ben-like. Poor gloomy Peter, who I've been writing off and on for ELEVEN YEARS. His story is that he's a chef... and a vampire. I didn't use fcs at all until recently, so Peter didn't get one until ~2017, and I went with Louis Garrel. You see where we're going with this: Hair. Nose. Eyes.
Peter's story vastly differs from any of Ben's:

Hux wakes up to gentle caresses, a feather-light finger drawing unrecognisable shapes over his shoulders, down his back.
His eyes ache behind his eyelids, that didn’t-sleep-enough taste in his mouth. Torn between giving in to his body’s demands for rest and enjoying the soft touch while it lasts, he drifts on the edge of sleep and wakefulness, basking in the pleasant warmth.
Something rattles far behind him, jerking him fully awake. The touch withdraws.
Pushing his disappointment down, Hux takes a deep breath and rolls onto his back. Ren is sitting up in the middle of the bed with his legs stretched out, tapping away at his phone.
“Go back to sleep,” Ren says without looking, his tone sleep-gruff. “’s not morning yet.”
“Why are you awake, then?” Hux mumbles, though he doesn’t particularly care about the answer. A short night wasn’t enough to make up for six weeks of absence; Hux won’t be settled without at least a few more hours of sleep, another round and brunch.
Thank fuck it’s Sunday.
Ren doesn’t respond, focused on whatever he’s doing on his phone. Stretching languidly on the bed, “Come back here, Ren,” Hux purrs, kicking the covers away in the process. Ren’s eyes latch onto the bared skin.
“Can’t,” Ren says, shaking his head. The phone buzzes again, as if reminding them of itself—as if it gave Ren a chance to forget it. “Got plans.”
Hux’s mood sours. Plans. Ren has barely returned to the Core Worlds and he’s already making plans with others.
“What plans?” Hux asks, keeping his tone mild. It can’t be work; they don’t hide Snoke’s various demands from each other, if only so Snoke won’t be able to blindside them later. Ren doesn’t have any friends in this sector, either—none that Hux knows of, at least. Is it that girl? Is Ren running out of Hux’s bed straight into her arms?
Hux has never woken up in Ren’s bed, but he now knows how it would feel to be kicked out of it.
Ren is still typing, not even acknowledging the question. What the hell is he writing, a novel?
“Let me guess, then,” Hux says, poison-sweet. “Early breakfast with your sunshine?”
Ren freezes.
A vicious delight fills Hux. “Unless you two had urgent business to take care of at the Resistance HQ,” he continues evenly, ignoring the tension that thickens in the air between them. “First Order’s latest requisitions have put them in quite the bind; your mother is right to want you on-site, now that you’re—”
—pinned on the bed with Ren’s overly warm body covering his, Ren’s forearm across his throat and knees on Hux’s shins. Ren’s other hand presses Hux’s wrists into the mattress; so close to the knife Hux keeps between the mattress and the headboard, but at the entirely wrong angle to grab it.
“Bastard,” Hux hisses in Ren’s face, the bed groaning as he feebly tries to shake Ren off. Ren presses his knobbly knees harder into Hux’s legs in answer, as if trying to dig grooves into Hux’s bones. The pressure on his neck remains steady, only hard enough to make it uncomfortable to swallow. A half-hearted threat at best.
What a bloody embarrassment.
“You’re not supposed to know any of that,” Ren snarls, his nostrils flaring as he glares down at Hux. Hux stares back, keeping his gaze steady and his breathing even. He’s never been afraid of Snoke’s hound; that won’t change now. “I know Snoke forbid you from investigating me. Have you been fucking—fucking digging anyway?”
Hux scoffs. As if he’s got the time to dig into Ren’s life. “I was having a business dinner at the Starkiller last month, when you walked in with your lovely girlfriend.” It’s quite telling that Ren didn’t even notice Hux there, so captivated by her. “Have you ever noticed how her voice carries, Ben?”
Ren growls low in his throat like the beast he is, his shoulders and neck tensing. Inhaling deeply, Hux waits for the moment Ren will put his crushing weight on Hux’s windpipe, visualising his hands clenching and unclenching as his body struggles to draw air into his burning lungs, unable to even scrabble at Ren’s forearm. The spots in his darkening vision until he can’t see Ren’s face anymore. Waking up with bruises on his tender neck—or not waking up at all.
Ren can’t kill him, though. He isn’t allowed to, not until Hux outlives his usefulness for Snoke. Killing Hux now would mean Ren signing his own death warrant.
“That name,” Ren says lowly, his breath warm on Hux’s face, “isn’t for you to use. Nobody—nobody—can find out that you know it, or there will be consequences.” He gives Hux a long look, anxiety shining through the ebbing fury in his eyes. What happens if word of Ren’s real name gets out? What’s so important about it? “Hux. Do you understand?”
Hux scoffs. “Yes, damn you. I won’t tell anyone.” He wasn’t planning to anyway; this sort of personal information is more valuable as a bargaining chip. When the time comes, he’ll benefit from having leverage over Snoke’s protégé. It just might turn the tide in Hux’s favour.
Satisfied, Ren rolls off and away from Hux. For a moment, Hux can only breathe as his blood rushes back into his feet and hands with that pins-and-needles sensation. Something dark and ugly gathers in the pit of his stomach, a need to sink his teeth into Ren’s throat until he tastes blood rising in him.
Later. His chance will come later.
Ren’s found his trousers on the floor, putting them on. Hux feels oddly naked, vulnerable in only soft trousers while Ren dons his armour again.
Well, Hux is clearly not going back to sleep. Might as well start his day.
“I hope you realise that this cannot continue,” he says conversationally, stepping into his slippers. No point of pulling the sheets up; he’s going to throw them all in the wash as soon as Ren leaves anyway. “This double life of yours, I mean—it’s too much of a risk to allow.”
“It’s not a double life,” Ren grumbles, trying to shake the wrinkles out of his shirt. The spiteful part of Hux hopes that Ren won’t have time to change out of the mussed state Hux put him in before his plans.
“Well, what would you call it?” Hux asks, raising a brow. “Polished, charming Organa-Solo heir on one side, Snoke’s brooding enforcer on the other? Unless I’m wrong and you’re mixing business and pleasure, in which case Ben’s dry cleaner had better be very discreet.”
“I’m not—” Ren cuts himself off with a huff, his unbuttoned shirt hanging off his shoulders. His glare isn’t quite effective with the entire bed between them. “Look, Snoke knows. Okay? He encourages me to keep Ben Organa-Solo alive—to have past connections we can use. I’m doing his bidding.”
“Sunshine—or whatever her name is—she’s one of your honeypot assignments, then?”
Ren runs his teeth over his bottom lip. “I didn’t say that.”
The space behind Hux’s eyes is throbbing, the beginnings of a headache making itself known. Kriffing Ren and his kriffing inability to say one thing straight.
His robe hangs off the hook behind the door—a strategic mistake. “What, then?” Hux asks as he strides over to it, the luxurious fabric his lifeline to feeling a little more put-together. A little more like himself. “Care to explain how she fits into the picture?”
“None of your fucking business,” Ren mutters—suspiciously like around something. Hux is unsurprised to turn and find one of those death-sticks between Ren’s lips and a lighter in his hand, though annoyance is another matter entirely. “I’m doing my damn job; what more do you care?”
Hux fishes out an ashtray from his vanity with a pointed sigh, throwing it vaguely Ren’s way on the bed. Ren picks it up before dropping himself on the edge of the mattress, balancing the ashtray on a thick thigh.
“You wouldn’t be so cagey if you were only following orders,” Hux points out, ignoring the light tickle at the back of his throat. If Ren drops a smatter of ash on his carpets, there will be hell to pay. “What is it? Does she know something she shouldn’t?” Hux can make it go away, if she does.
“No, of course not. She knows nothing.”
Right. Very convincing.
Crossing his arms over his chest, “Is that so?” Hux asks, leaning a hip against the vanity. Ren barely glances at him before turning to the closed window, blowing the smoke out of a corner of his mouth. “Say, Ren, what does she think that you’re doing for a living? Snoke’s bodyguard works only so well when the man is bedbound. How do you explain your long trips abroad? Or the nights you return smelling of sex?”
Ren releases a long breath, loud in the otherwise quiet room. He ashes his cigarra and takes another drag, cool as you please, while irritation crawls underneath Hux’s skin.
It’s like Hux isn’t even kriffing there.
An odd desperation tugging at his chest, “Or maybe she already knows that you’re fucking someone on the side,” Hux throws, spitefully hoping for it to land.
Ren’s jaw works, his lips pressing into a line.
There.
It’s all of ten steps from his spot to Ren’s. “You’re loyal as a dog; I don’t imagine I’m your dirty secret,” Hux adds as he takes them slowly, satisfaction buzzing through him. Ren’s shoulders grow more rigid with each word, the ashtray moving as his legs tense. “Maybe it’s a thingbetween you two. Is that why you never shower here—because she likes smelling another man on you, feeling how open you still are from—”
“Rey’s my cousin, you jackass,” Ren snarls, a vein pulsing on his forehead. A knot unravels in Hux’s stomach. “What the fuck is it to you anyway? I know you don’t get lonely without me.”
The anger Hux was aiming for—the unmissable undercurrent of hurtin Ren’s tone gives him a pause. Hux hasn’t taken a lover since he and Ren started their… arrangement. He could have—and perhaps should have, instead of relying on his hand alone to get him through Ren’s weeks-long disappearances—but he didn’t even want to.
It worries him, sometimes.
“It’s a matter of security,” Hux says, waving it off. “Secrets have a way of leaking during pillow talk, you know that better than anyone.”
Ren laughs, bitter and hollow. Something in Hux twists at the sound. “Security,” Ren spits out, putting out the cigarra like it offended him personally. “Do you wanna do background checks on everybody I slept with while I was gone, then?”
Sharp hurt jolts through Hux.
Ren is staring at him with an intensity that borders on uncomfortable, waiting. Hux unclenches his jaw, breathing through his nose. “You’re an old hand at this; I’ll trust your judgment,” he responds, turning away. What is he doing, reacting to Ren? What the hell is wrong with him?
Ren grabs him by the wrist, jerking him to a stop.
Irritation rises in Hux again. “Ren,” he bites out in warning.
“No really, I think you should,” Ren says, a dark look shining in his eyes. “I don’t remember every name, but I can give you some other details. I’m sure your network of stalkers—sorry, slicers can find out enough.”
“My slicers have more important intel to chase after,” Hux bites out, looking pointedly at Ren’s hand around his wrist. The grip is loose enough that he might break himself free, but suffering the indignity of struggling doesn’t quite appeal to him. Once was enough. “Will you let me go?”
“Only if you admit it.”
Hux scoffs. “Admit what, exactly?”
“Admit that you’re jealous.” Hux goes ice-cold all over. “You hated thinking about me with Rey, didn’t you?”
Of course not. What a ridiculous claim. Hux holds a certain dislike for missing out on critical intel—understandable given his line of work—and finding out that he’s been left entirely in the dark about Ren, Snoke’s other right-hand man and the only person Hux remotely trusts in the First Order, was a bit of a hit. That’s all there is to it. He’s got no reason to be jealous of some girl who calls Ren by his given name, who can laugh and joke with Ren, be seen in public with Ren, who can loop an arm around Ren as they leave—
The dismissal gets stuck in his throat.
“Because I hated it,” Ren murmurs, looking into his eyes. Hux wants with his whole being to escape the depth of feeling in Ren’s earnest gaze—can’t look away. “Thinking about others warming your bed while I was fucked off on some bullshit mission that barely needed me—it killed me, Hux. Tell me you hated it, too. Tell me you want me to be only yours.”
Only Hux’s. As if Ren, with his constant need for attention and validation, wouldn’t chafe under Hux’s negligence.
Hux shakes his head, wishing he could shake off this spell just as easily. Ren must be similarly addled if he’s talking of fancies of flight like exclusivity. “You don’t know what you’re saying. This isn’t what we agreed on, Ren.”
The light in Ren’s eyes dims. Hux hates himself.
“You’re right,” Ren says, his tone just above a whisper. A glance downwards—he starts buttoning up his shirt like he’s being timed on it, only barely getting the order right. “Sorry I ruined it, I thought—never mind what I thought, I’ll just see myself out. You won’t see me again unless Snoke summons both of us, promise.”
Ren rushes past Hux and out of the bedroom, pulling the door closed behind himself. It hits Hux in the next moment that perhaps he should’ve stopped Ren.
Stars, what a kriffing mess. Hux intended only to stop Ren from jumping off a cliff in the hopes that Hux would follow, not to end what they had. Leave it to Ren to take it as an absolute rejection.
He takes a deep breath, running his hands through his hair. All right. All right. First step: He can’t let Ren storm off. Ren will be damn near impossible to get a hold of if he leaves like this; Hux’s network truly has more important matters to take care of. Hux needs to make him stay long enough to listen.
As for what Hux will say to fix this, well. He supposes he can tell Ren what Ren wants to hear. He can set his pride aside for a moment. It should be good, shouldn’t it? It should be enough.
It had better be enough.
Inside, Ren is nowhere to be found, his jacket and trainers gone. Hux hasn’t heard the Silencer’s roar, though. Hoping he’s not too late, he grabs his keys off the hook and dashes down the front stairs, catching up with Ren just as Ren reaches his bike.
“Ren,” he says, embarrassingly breathless.
Ren turns to him with wariness etched on his guarded face. He’s waiting for beratement, Hux suspects, or the tongue-lashing that Hux is famous for.
“I was lonely without you,” Hux confesses in a rush, words tumbling out of his mouth in his haste to get them out before they clog up his throat. “When you were away, I—I missed you. I did.” Do whatever you want with it.
A series of emotions cross Ren’s face, too fast to parse. A part of Hux—a part that will always remain Armitage no matter how hard Hux tries to purge it—wants to curl into a ball and hide from the moment Ren will laugh in his face for falling for such a blatant prank.
“Hux,” Ren breathes, breaking into a wide grin. It’s the goofiest, stupidest expression Hux has ever seen on his face—and entirely devoid of any mockery. “You missed me?”
“I won’t repeat it,” Hux says, ignoring the growing heat of his cheeks. Least of all in the middle of the street, where all his neighbours would overhear them if it weren’t shit-early on a Sunday—wearing nothing but his robe and slippers.
Stars. What a disgrace.
Ren’s phone buzzes loudly in his pocket. He fishes it out only far enough to silence it, letting it go to voicemail. “I really have to go,” he says with a touch of regret in his tone, running the backs of his fingers down Hux’s cheek. “But I’ll come back right after, okay? I’ll come back to you.”
Such coddling. Hux wants to roll his eyes, but the look on Ren’s face, the same one as when he said tell me you want me to be only yours, stops him.
“You had better,” he mutters instead. It’s a new sort of thrill, getting a genuine grin out of Ren.
Cupping Hux’s face, Ren presses a hard kiss on his lips before getting on his bike. Hux watches him leave with an inexplicably heavy heart.
He misses Ren already.

WARNINGS: Mentions of childhood abuse (aka Brendol Hux’s A+ Parenting)
First of all, Armitage works somewhere pretty high profile. I like to lean towards it being a pretty generic big office where they do nondescript business things and make lots of money, but I’ve considered that he’d be great working at a law firm too.
He’s also a workaholic
This means he’s busy like... always.
You want to grab lunch? Sorry, there's a huge meeting with the higher-ups that day and he needs to get a raise before Pryde does. You want to take a weekend trip? Well too bad because a big case is coming up and he needs to be in the office until 8pm every day.
That being said, if you ever brought it up to him that he spent more time pulling extra hours at the office than with you, he would be more than a little mortified and do his best to try to balance things a little more evenly, even if it meant losing a promotion to Ben “Nepotism” Solo because losing you would be so much worse.
Speaking of which, you’d also have to get to know his only 3 friends- his bestie Phasma, his work frenemy Ben, and his assistant Mitaka- pretty well because they tend to show up uninvited at random times.
A lot of the time you spend together with ‘Tidge (his nickname, because he hates it less than Armie and saying Armitage 20 times a day can be a real mouthful) is at his big-ass apartment. Date nights on the town are lovely every once in a while, but Hux doesn’t exactly know how to act like a normal person in public,
Before moving in with him, you’d just drop by after work every day and spend some time with Millicent while waiting for him to get home. Once you do live there you’d pretty much do the exact same only in your pajamas.
He likes to know that, once he gets home from the insane stress of work, his two favorite things are sitting there waiting for him.
Hux outside the privacy of his own home is, to put it kindly, a man who constantly acts like he has a stick up his ass. When he’s home with you though? Completely different dude.
Lots of kisses and affection are MUSTS for him because, after his childhood, he craves a lot of physical affection and he only trusts you to give it to him. It’s all in private, though, because he’s uncomfortable with the idea of being seen as weak
The two of you have a lot of little rituals around the house that make him feel more secure.
Like every day he sits on the floor between your legs while you sit on the couch and brush the gel out of his hair. It takes about 15 minutes and you both just sit and talk about your days. He loves the feeling on your hands running through his hair after a long day. It makes even the worst days bearable when he knows he has that to come home to.
Armitage also loves to cook dinner for you.
You always try to insist that he’s worked late so you could do it, or you could just order in, but he loves to cook for you and thinks it’s a great way to show his affection. Surprisingly, he’s a pretty great chef.
If you ever met his father, which Hux would try to prevent with literally all his might, it would probably go very, very poorly, because the second Brendol made some asshole remark about your boyfriend being less-than-enough you’d defend him.
And the second Brendol started getting on you about anything, Hux would just beat the shit out of him. Because it’s one thing for his father to ridicule him in front of people, but you? No way.
He refuses to let anyone make you feel the way his father made him feel, even if it means standing up to him for the first time.
Also, Armitage is rich. Like, old-money rich. And even if his dad tried to get him cut off from the fund his mother put in place for him during the divorce, he makes enough money at his job that it doesn’t really matter.
Basically, expect ridiculously expensive gifts.
If you don’t like gifts or don’t want him to ‘waste money’ on you (which would never be the case, but he wants you to be happy) he’ll spend the money on things you both enjoy instead, like really good ingredients for dinner or a new mattress made exactly the way you need it to fic your back pain.

Armitage isn’t very confident in bed, but he makes up for that with enthusiasm and pure skill.
It’s more comfortable for him to be on top. He likes to feel like he’s always in control of the situation because it’s already kinda weird for him to be so vulnerable and exposed. That being said he trusts you more than anybody else. If being on top is what you want then he’ll try it.
Even when it comes to getting pegged/fucked, he’d be open to it, but only if you were the one doing it. (he’d probably be a crier as a sub tho, fair warning)
He tends to get self-conscious when it comes to his scars, they’re a reminder of his ‘failure’ in the eyes of his father, but some nights when you make love you kiss them and tell him all the things you love about him to try to give him something else to think about when he sees them.

You never would have guessed it, he does seem like the kind of guy who will take what he wants to chase his own release, but he really just likes making you feel as good as possible at all times.
Hux tends to cum second. His whole goal is to make you feel as good as possible and that usually means taking care of your needs before his, but even when he neglects himself you take care of him (in the bedroom and outside of it)
Both at home and at work he wears a lot of suits, so if a sharp-dressed man is a turn-on for you, congratulations.
He tends not to go for quickies, they’re too reminiscent of work to him where the idea is to do as much as possible in a short amount of time, but sometimes if you show up at the office with flowers or lunch he’ll take you in his office.
Finally, he has surprising stamina.
No, like... surprising.
For someone who looks like a fucking twig and works in an office all day, he can absolutely keep up with whatever you throw at him.

a/n: whew! This was like a writing warm-up before a marathon! I know Hux is definitely not the main bitch I post about on this blog, but he was my first love. Technically, even my username is paying homage to him (and Kylo, who I love dearly but cannot stand a lot of the time lol) I loved returning to my roots for this one. Thanks for the request anon!
