I got to look at the room in the dormitory and now I'm torn between taking it and running, or maybe taking a bit more time to find something... less really cramped and where the washing machine doesn't smell sour, somehow
#and i have to decide today help#like yeah my flatmates are awful and I hate them and am in a bad mood whenever they're home#but they're usually gone on the weekends so at least I'm alone then#there's Something weird about the dormitory I looked at but I can't put my finger on it. apart from the awful smell in the laundry room#but I mean I could take my laundry to a laundromat if I really didn't want to use that washing machine I guess#there's shared kitchens there too but oh well i've done that before#but by god am I looking forward to living alone after university#all I want is a flat with enough space for a large bed or a pull-out couch for when friends visit#and ideally a balcony and cats allowed#mine#jess' flatmate rants#am I being too picky? all student rooms are very small and shared kitchens and bathrooms are normal#what really threw me off was the washing machine ngl#aaah maybe that's another thing: my old dorm was bigger so more anonymous#this one has a kitchen for 8-10 people#i'm not very social; I don't want to be friends with the people in my dorm; I want to be alone and left alone when I'm at home#anyway. guess I have that to consider for the next hour or so#aah Vse Kar Vem came up and I'm crying again; wonderful#also you know those days when anyone talking in the same room as you makes you want to murder them? i'm on like week two or three of that#with no stop and idk why and what's wrong; send help#ngl maybe my problem is less with the dorm itself and more that I literally can't imagine a good future for myself right now#where I get to not live either in my childhood bedroom forever or only ever with flatmates which. I'm never moving in with strangers again#and I have no friends I could move in with who would want that or don't already live with their boyfriends

The other set of Vargases came over for a visit and Scriabin picked up Shmee and started talking to Scriabin through him. Very normal, very usual
I downloaded some circle-glasses recolours and hghghh they look so good! Closer every day to his final details! Getting ever closer!
Edgar too! I made him a custom hair with a lighter undercut - I’m mostly happy with it, probably could’ve shifted it a shade closer to his skintone but the texturing was weird no matter what :P And his stripey shirt! I wish Body Shop didn’t have that hands-on-hips pose lol, it looks so much better in-game, but that’s all the better :)
I got some new clothes for Todd as well! As soon as I saw this ‘fit I was like “Oh that’s 100% Todd there he is.” Scriadad hug ♥ So cute

You just need hunger lol#Alternately you can also have them miss class if you'd prefer to feed them - both will result in being taken away after long enough#If I return to this save it's gonna be confusing since both Todds are identical and have the same names lol#I do have a bunch of new clothes! You know what's something I really love? The books explicitly state more than a few times that the kids and their respective families all live in different houses/different cities up until TPD. eeuuaghh i would like everyone to know that i apologise if i have not responded to your reblogs/mentions/posts on tumblr, i have really terrible social anxiety and for some reason people talking to me makes my nervous system think i'm being hunted for sport by a resident evil boss. sorry if i havent responded i'm not being rude i'm just having a panic attack :P

I still don't get this stuff, so, I've got a question: do most allosexuals find random people attractive? and does that mean they look at them and think 'I want to have sex with that person'? not just 'that person is very beautiful' or whatever? like if there's a group of people that are their type or whatever, they might think all of them are. idk, interesting in that way?

So, now with the series 4 bios out, Lila Yamamoto is confirmed to be mixed Japanese and Chinese.
And this is good, of course, because the least they can do to explain her outfits is to have her be mixed heritage. Because there was a lot of reasonable concern over the cultural mishmashing going on with her fashions, as others have explained. And I’ve seen some people express relief because now we can put those concerns to rest!
...But as much as I, someone also Asian and mixed, would like to believe MGA planned for Lila to be mixed Japanese and Chinese from the start...
“Her dad is Japanese, and her mom is Chinese.”
That is the easiest sentence to insert into a paragraph as an afterthought. Just change “rich cultural roots” to “rich multicultural roots” and bada boom, she’s mixed now.
“Loves incorporating her family’s diverse culture with street style fashion” should really say “cultures” though, plural, so they forgot to fix that 🤔 But hey, that could easily be a simple typo, right?
Except the bio only mentioning Lila being a “streetstyle icon in Tokyo” also seems odd. She has a Japanese last name, lives in Tokyo, and reads rare manga, all referencing her Japanese heritage, but the bio makes no references to her Chinese heritage aside from her mom. If she “loves incorporating her family’s diverse culture(s)” with her fashion so much, why not a brief mention about what inspired her to incorporate Chinese elements? Like visiting her mom’s family in China (naming another specific city like Tokyo), or her mom introducing her to Chinese arts or fashions as she grew, in contrast to the Japanese culture surrounding them. Or being inspired by her parents’ respect for each others’ traditions and the way they incorporated them together while raising her. Lily Cheng’s bio talks about her growing up with “the best of both worlds,” so there’s already precedent for that similar experience. And there’s other students with longer bios that talk more about their families or backgrounds (see Krystal’s and Stella’s for instance), so it’s not like there wasn’t enough space or it’d be out of place for Lila’s bio to have a short reference to her Chinese cultural influences. Saying only, “Her dad is Japanese, and her mom is Chinese,” sounds bland and impersonal. And to me, seems like a hasty inclusion to hand-wave away the inconsistencies in Lila’s outfits. Because even with her mixed heritage, there are better, more respectful ways to incorporate Chinese and Japanese culture “with street style fashion” than the muddled hodgepodge they designed for her doll, if they only did more research.
You could say I’m being cynical and nitpicking, and you’d be right! But I also love Rainbow High and want better from it. Good representation is important (especially in properties directed at younger demographics), and it’s important to critique big corporations when they drop the ball, or at least question their actions. Because this issue isn’t new, isn’t even surprising, even just looking at Rainbow High’s history of diversity and representation. On the plus side, as fans have pushed for them to do better, they have started doing better! On the other hand, it’s frustrating to have to keep pushing for it, instead of the paid professional teams at MGA putting in the work and awareness to be better before anyone has to point it out to them.
I’m glad, relieved even, to have written confirmation of Lila as mixed race (I was worried they wouldn’t have any justification for her outfits at all). But planned or not, it doesn’t absolve the cultural carelessness issues going on with her clothes. As our first canonical multicultural representation in Rainbow High, I sorely wish she was better. Lila deserved better. We deserved better. But now, keeping that in mind, all we can do is speak out, and push for MGA to do better in the future.

Anyone else struck with an overwhelming sense of dissatisfaction?
#mine#personal#I'm still extremely fatigued from covid#and so i end up getting no exercise which means ibend up restless when it's time to go to bed#so I've been sleeping awful#and also I'm wondering if i need to look for a new job#it's just a mess and i keep getting promised more than is delivered#but as soon as my manager finds his new job i get a promotion#so i think I'm gonna ride it out and get a uear of experience as manager before putting that on my resume for somewhere else#it'll suck but at least be bearable#our asses aren't ridden at this job like a lot of other places will#in between customers if we don't have a list i can just fuck off to the back and play on my steamdeck lol#so i am lucky in a lot of ways#just not really compensated and we're horribly understaffed so there's no room for vacations or sick days without the store falling apart#and there's just so much pettiness from the owner and between stores#we realized recently that other stores might be faking item transfers on stuff they're under on in order to move the error to us#lile were finding items pop into our system that have been discontinued for years and just recently disappeared from another store's system#amd they definitely didn't actually have the item beforehand so that would have heen an error for them#so the error disappeared for them at the same time it appeared for us#v sus

What does BDSM look like in the cars universe?
Like, I don't think they'd necessarily be into, like, rope bondage, because cars don't have the same range of motion as humans.
You could maybe do things like take their wheels off, but does that end up being like a doctor kink too? Like, mechanics are car doctors, right?
Do you use one of those folding sun-visor things as a blindfold?
What's the car equivalent to a leash. A tow truck? A hitch? Maybe.
Can you whip a car? Maybe you use some of those rubber hammers, like "kneel*, slave, and receive your 5 dents from your mistress! Count them"

Where do cars hear from? Like, if you wanted to do sensory deprivation on a car, where do you put the earbuds? It's the side mirrors, isn't it. They're probably equivalent anatomical features.
