i love valgrace with fell first vs fell harder, but i also love making it as angsty as possible.

leo fell first. he fell for jason the day they first met, both in the fake mist memories and during their actual first meeting. at first, he didn’t understand his feelings. during their quest together, when he finally did understand them, he pushed them aside and ignored them, knowing that he stood no chance with jason ‘straighter then a ruler’ grace. also, he knew piper had feelings for jason. if he ever had to choose between his happiness and piper’s, he’d choose her, all the time. so, he never confessed, hoping they’d go away and he could move on, ignoring how the feelings only grew and flourished over time. he figured that, maybe someday in the future, if things ended between piper and jason, then he’d take the opportunity to confess his feelings. if not, then he’d watch them be happy and move on himself. after all, they had enough time.

jason only realized he loved leo after leo died. it took leo’s death for him to unpack his memories and feelings for him, to realize what he truly meant to him, to realize that he’s felt that way for a while, he just didn’t let himself see it. he had to live with the fact that the right person for him was right in front of him, but he never saw it, and they were doomed to run out of time. even after finding out leo was alive after so many months, he never let himself hope, since he knew he would die soon.

then leo came back and found out jason died. he realized he couldn’t trick the fates and that, by coming back, he only doomed jason to die. he never truly had enough time with him, and he should have enjoyed it while he could. he realized that they’d been doomed from the start, he just never let himself see it.

five times nico and will are dumb and in love, and the one time they are totally 100% dead serious. i love a good outsider's pov, and this fic is just gorgeous. it's a bunch of different perspectives into solangelo, and it's pure fluff, and it's got some of my favorite solangelo quotes (like, when i read fanfic i screenshot parts i rlly like and i practically screenshotted this entire fic), and their characterization is just so so accurate they're so so in love

And a crush on one Will Solace. i'm such a sucker for socmed au's and this one is done SO so well. my all time favorite. and it's sequel too!! the formatting i am in awe of, but other than that, it's just a really good time and i just love all the little details. i've reread this too many times to count and was SO excited when a sequel was published, and i can only hope that there's more to the au in the future!! (also this author writes incredible solangelo fics and even more valgrace fics which i recently just bingeread and are soo good)

Will Solace is a pre-med student whose friends run a true crime podcast called "Nothing to See Here". Nico di Angelo, despite not realizing he's a missing person, is the subject of one of the episodes. They meet by chance in a random bar, and shenanigans ensue. i mean, if it's got a taylor swift title, i'm already sold. and then it's part of a series called "Hey Stephen is a solangelo song and i will die on that hill" which is the realest thing ever?? but ASIDE from that, i could honestly rec this entire series (+ the other series it's a part of, "Nothing to See Here" which is all part of the same au) and also everything by this author - it's hilarious, i just love the premise, and the writing is so good!! and hey stephen is a solangelo song, thereby reinforcing my "fearless is will's favorite album ever of all time and i will die on this hill" argument

IM OBSESSED THIS IS WRITTEN SO WELL and like... the very brief part where it feels a lot like a fame au like i just i'm obsessed can you tell. the writing is just beautiful in this, i love nico's internal dialogue, and... i mean, it's an olympics au. ofc its perfect

His trials are over; why isn’t he back on Olympus? okay so. this is a bit of a longer fic. and it's a post-toa, pjoxmcga crossover, and it's not *entirely* focused on solangelo - but when i tell you that this fic, if i weren't reading it on ao3, i would truly and full-heartedly believe was a real life published novel - i am NOT LYING. i rec'd this to my friend right after i read it bc i was just like so so obsessed with it and it's literally just. the plot?? is insane. i'm in awe of the author, bc this isn't even the only novel-length fic that they've written with an insane plot too (their fic Eclipse is also phenomenal, but it's more focused on apollo and hades so i didn't rec it here) there's some fierrochase here, lester being lester, and some very very very cute solangelo! and meg! i think sometimes you read a fic and you're like "oh, shit, that could be a novel, and i would think it's better than some actual novels i've read" and this is one of them

Don't let me. the summary's really short here so it's basically that will gets very very very injured and then apollo saves him (rip, i'm sorry, i suck at summaries) once again this isn't necessarily nico focused... it's much more will & apollo. this author writes the absolute best stuff for the apollo cabin, genuinely, if you love will/cabin 7/apollo PLEASE read everything they've ever written but this is just so angsty and the hurt/comfort is so real and goddd it's so good

Having thoughts about how good a HoO au with Valgrace could’ve been.

Like just think about it. Okay so like, the initial start is the exact same, with Juno messing with Jason and Piper’s memories and making them think they were dating. And it continues like that, with them trying out actually dating despite the whole fake memories stuff.

But plot twist, Jason is gay and Piper is a lesbian, both of them were out before but Juno erased their memories about that part of themselves. Just think about how horrible that would be, having memories about being in love with someone but literally not being able to actually love them. Plus, it would make the whole Piper brainwashing Jason thing to make more sense on the Roman side. Everyone knew he was gay but then in comes Jason with a girl who is confirmed to have mind control powers, saying they’re dating, suspicious.

Anyway, over the course of the rest of the series, Jason and Piper would eventually come to realise their own sexualities and split incredibly pissed at Juno. Jason and Leo would grow closer together and eventually get together just in time to realise that the prophecy was for telling one of their deaths. Cue more angst.

I personally really dislike Calleo so this would’ve been so good, why didn’t you take the opportunity Uncle Rick 😭😭😭

But seriously, the way the seven are paired up into couples and the one dude left remained is pushed with a literal millennia old titaness at the very end just irks me really bad. I don’t think the Calleo relationship works and they weren’t well developed in the books either IMO.

I think it would’ve been better if, instead of falling for Calypso, Leo didn’t fall for her but still tried to help her, showing that she didn’t need the other person to fall for her in return to escape. I genuinely think their friendship had a lot of potential if it didn’t get turned to romance.

In any case, I’m def using this concept for some fanfics down the line.

I’ve been seeing this thing around about rating pjo ships so i thought I’d give it a go 🤠 no personal offense if i don’t give your ship a high rating, i’m pretty particular except for when I’m not

Percabeth - 9/10. love them loads, but could have gone without the judo flip + other odd behaviors that are only seen as “cute” because the sexes are flipped, otherwise they’re great

Jercy - 1/10. i can see potential i guess but also there’s just a lot of better options for both of these characters imo, plus i see them as bros

Valgrace - 10/10, to storm or fire the world must fall, best friends to lovers, no notes

Solangelo - 2/10. i can see…the potential. their “significant annoyance” scene gave me the warm fuzzies as a 14 year old looking for rep. but oh my god how they’re written in canon sometimes is just so bad, it ruins fanon for me as well. not to mention the one-dimensional-ization done in order to amplify the “grumpy x sunshine !!!1!” trope. however i will say Some solangelo fans understand that they should Both be freaks (and in that AU it’s a respectable 8/10 from me) and the ship has fantastic fan artists

Shelper - 2/10. no hate i’m just bored…like who is shel?? tell me one thing about her personality. does she get any dialogue?? richard??

Jasper/Jiper - 1/10 the fake memories were cute but the inside of pipers head did not pass the Bechdel test. would love to see them as platonic soulmate roommates though

Jeyna - 1/10 the devotion is admirable but yk. can relate being aroace and latching on to some dude lmao

Theyna - 4/10. not my cup of tea but in a world where either they aren’t hunters or it’s an interpretation where the hunters can be lesbians…it’s a good ship. haven’t really seen much for them but I’m open to it. might prefer them as a platonic buddy cop duo though

Pernico - 4/10 i see them as annoying cousins but i respect the angst potential of unrequited love. i don’t think the ship as endgame would be good for either of the characters. however, again, really good fan artists

Jasico - 10/10 the drinking out of the chalice scene was hot don’t look at me. really good fan artists etc. i should write more with them

Valdangelo - 10/10, yk how i feel about pushing my blorbos together and making them kiss lol. massively underrated, read ceaseless eve, etc

Pipabeth - 7.5/10 i like percabeth more but it’s my favorite piper ship. I haven’t seen much content with them but i’ve liked what i have seen. I might make some stuff with them

Rachbeth - 2/10, the potential is there i guess but i see them as best friends

Perchel - 8.5/10 i guess i’m in the minority but what makes the pjo love triangle so compelling compared to other YA love triangles is that Both of the ships are really good. idk what to tell you they go well together

Lukercy - 6/10 i see the potential but if you’re going for dark fic vibes i think lukabeth is better

Lukabeth - 9/10 the dark fic potential has me chewing the furniture. wouldn’t ship them as like a fluffy endgame but that’s not the point

Frazel - 0/10 richard please let two people of the opposite sex be friends

Caleo - -100000000/10 nothing could be a better crafted anti-caleo fic than canon itself

Rating pjo ships because I've seen a good amount of people doing it lately and it seems fun. But there's a twist!! I used the wackiest rating system imaginable because I'm insane. Have fun.

Percabeth: a hundred hearts out of five blue cookies.

Their dynamic is not only incredibly fun but also they complement each other very well. Honestly, when I first read the books, I didn't really want them to get together because I didn't want another "main guy gets main girl" situation, but they're honestly made for each other.

Jiper: five daggers out of ten great canyons

They were incredibly forced, but honestly not that bad of a ship. They were really cute but I dont have much to say about it.

Valgrace: fifty festus heads out of ten college aus

One of my favorite Jason ships ever. I love me some tragic gays.

Pipabeth: 15/10(couldn't find a whacky rating system for them)

I will ALWAYS support a good wlw ship. And Piper defo had a microcrush on Annabeth while they were on the Argo II. Plus the fanart of them is SO good.

Jercy/Person: twelve riptides out of ten horses

I like reading about it and it's quite fun to think about. Nothing much to say honestly.

Perachel: Ten oracle's out of nine pancakes drowned in syrup

They could have been cute. I dont really ship them but the dynamic could've been fun to see.

Annrachel(is that the name?): three prophecies out of five spiders

Korrasami vibes lmao. I think they're better off as friends but I will read a fanfic if I find an interesting one.

Solangelo: fifty skulls out of ten doctors notes

They were written for each other. As in Rick made sure that they were written for each other. I havent read tsats yet and im still on the first toa book so I don't have much on their dynamic. Still I like them and they visually look good together.

Valdangelo: ninety-four automatons out of six pomegranate seeds

They would have been unstoppable I tell you! Unstoppable!! Or maybe I'm biased. Either way they would have been an amazing couple together but Rick was too much of a coward to let them be (boy)friends.

Jeyna: 8/10

Now I dont have any strong opinions about this ship. But I will consume almost every ship from a fandom as long as its not a proship or something like that so I like them.

Jasico: 3/10

Personally I've never seen the hype for them. I like their dynamic a lot but not really in a shipping way. Sorry pjotumblr😔

Pernico: -3/four age gaps

The angst of Nico having a crush in Percy is a good comcept to explore. Both in relationships with other characters and Nicos character development. But them being in a relationshio together just irks me. Its not entirely problematic(at least i dont think it is) but still the age gap makes me umcomfortable.

Ruegard: thirty-seven drakons out of one patrochilles parallel

Like I said, I love me some wlw ships. And while I've never really been a diehard fan of them, the fanart is amazing, so of course i ship them.

Frazel: 6/10

Rick try to make a girl and a boy stay friends challenge(impossible). But jokes aside, the 13-16 gap makes me annoyed. Three years isn't much but it matters in this situation. And it annoys me bacuse I want to like them. They have a cute dynamic but the maturity gap between them kinda gets in the way. That said, I would probably have liked them a lot better if they just stayed friends.

Valzhang: Nine eagles out of twenty bufords

Like I said before, I will consume almost every ship in a fandom. And if I find good fanfics of them, I will read it because I like exploring different characters' dynamics with each other. It's fun and I honestly think the pjo fandom should chill out a little. The amount of people who put others down for shipping something that isn't canon is way too much. Just let people enjoy their ships.

I think that's all? I didn't include Grover and Juniper because I honestly don't really have any opinions on them. They just exist and it's kinda like Rick just made them canon because he didn't want grover to feel left out.

Soooo this a pretty empty WIP XD

The title is inspired by that line in Game of Thrones: "Love is the death of duty", which means that sometimes people abandon their duties out of love

soooo my idea was thinking about Pjo and how for demigods it could be the opposite

They have to abandon their loved ones in quests for prophecies,

I just have no idea in what characters or premises to use for it....

Originally it was supposed to be the next chapter of let it be fear buuut I kinda grew out of that story (Me wanting Hazel to be powerful BUT also happy)

I'm kinda thinking about using it for a jiper or Valgrace angst fic...since Jason is a pretty dutiful guy XD

Also I'm in a lost trio angst mode soooooo...........

Currently writing for DSMP and QSMP the most atm :O I also write for the PJO fandom, Homestuck, and DR on occasion, too. I get very tempted to write for Stardew Valley and Scott Pilgrim, and I have been. More than tempted to write CareBears stuff too. I'm in deep chat

5: Do you respond to comments? Why/Why not?

For the most part yeah! I don't get too too much interaction and I just get!! So excited when I get comments! I love seeing what people say and I love to respond! But sometimes I don't, often cause I don't know what to say lol

6: What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

hmmm,,,good question! Probably Why Do I Cry? or maybe Famous Last Words? Gone are the Joys I Knew? I don't really know! I write a lot of sort of mopey sad fics ig LMAO

7: What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

mmmmmmm,,,,not sure for this, either! My Fundy Fluff Week stuff is all supposed to be sorta fluffy which is probably happy

8: Do you get hate on fics?

Not hate, per say, but comments on the accuracy of my characters, which kinda stabbed my ego a bit lol. It was a nice comment! But the way it was worded was so ouchie!

9: Do you write smut?

I've. Been tempted. As of right now I haven't, though!

10: Do you write crossovers?

Another one of me being tempted!! I haven't yet but I LOOOOVE to read them and so I'd love to write one sometime. (We aren't counting my old VLD Steven Universe au.)

11: Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so! Fingers crossed it hasn't happened lol I doubt it would

12: Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope! But if someone were to want to, I would say go ahead! Just send it to me so I can see :D sounds so cool!

13: Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Very recently was my first time doing a proper co-write/collab, which I did with my lovely friend Seven! I would love to do more they're so fun (and probably one of the only ways I'll easily end up writing a multichap KEKW)

14: What's your all-time favorite ship?

ouuuuu ive got a lot of pairings I really really cherish. Jercy my beloved, uhhh Valgrace is so silly, I like to consider myself one of The Kamuegi writers ever, and Pumpkinduo kind of holds an insanely special place in my heart

15: What's the WIP you hope to finish but doubt you ever will?

(Un)Lifetime Achievement Award as sad as it sounds. I love it so much and I'm so insanely proud of it and I love the story but there's soooo much planned and the person I was planning it with hasn't spoken to me in a while. I have hope that I'll finish it someday! Or at least get another two chapters out!

16: What are your writing strengths?

Uhhhhhhh,,,,I don't. actually know! I do a lot of flowery sentences ig? and I think I'm pretty good at angst and similar things

17: What are your writing weaknesses?

Making (and completing) multichap fics, getting ideas to write, finding the motivation to write, and I am definitely bad at planning things out in advance

18: Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've done it pretty sparingly in the past, because I want to incorporate other languages and loooove language, but don't know any of them very well aside from English. But I try to do a lot of research before I add something in, and am 100% open and insistent that someone correct me if I messed up, or if there's another way to go about saying what I'm trying to say, or just to tell me more!

19: First fandom you wrote for?

Never published because I was a kid and it was. So Bad but !!! It was actually for the Minecraft Roleplay series Mary and Dad's Minecraft Adventure (MADMA) back around 2011-2013. I've been in mcrp hell for. a LONG time jesus christ

20: Favorite fic you've ever written?

ohhhh good question. Fullbury Records is very special to me and I'm ALWAYS thinking of what to add to that series, and (Un)Lifetime Achievement Award ofc is also very special to me. I think Heart to Heart is going places once I get back to writing the next chapter, too But I'm also veeeerrry proud of Famous Last Words, and it's very special to me as a projection piece LMAO

Wait so you unironically ship percico?????????????????? I mean you ship what you want to ship but um 🤨

Well I'm a multi-shipper tbh. Do I ship percabeth? Not really, but I still accept them and root for them. I also ship percico, jasico is fine too, never really indulged in jercy but I can see it and I really like jercico.

Valdangelo is fine but I ship valgrace really hard and of course I ship solangelo.

So to keep it simple, give me any ship with good explanation and content and I'll learn to love it.

And come oonnnn! percico, The angst? The emotional rollercoaster? Sad endings? The affection deprivation that even a small smile is just too much? It's just really the best combination to make you weep and I'm just that messed up to love star-crossed lovers and suffer along the way.

Why, you don't like percico? I'll be thrilled to know the reason :).

6,15, and 23 for the valentines ask game!

Alright so I decided to make these all PJO-HOO-TOA bc I can.

6-What is that angstiest (?spelling can fuck off and die) ship you like? I really like valgrace for angst specifically because it’s so specifically doomed to fail, and yet! And yet! They love each other so strongly, to the point of letting themselves die so the other doesn’t have to. Because that’s always what they do, isn’t it? Jason is the perfect little soldier, just a weapon for the gods, for his father. He fights because it’s all he knows, and then come Leo and Piper. And for once, he doesn’t fight to destroy. No, now he fights to protect.

And Leo is disposable, he knows it. He’s a flame, he helps those in need until it burns him out, he gets too tired, and he’s extinguished. Sometimes he can get rest, rekindle that spark, and keep going. But most of the time, he eats sugar and drinks Monster, like adding fatwood to a fire until it’s gone, and he sparks out, to sleep for a week straight and then do it all again.

But together, they care strongly enough about keeping the other happy and safe to return after each battle, each failed experiment, and get some rest, eat a real meal, not whatever snacks they have stashed in the lab or the forge or the scouting positions. They know it won’t last, but they take every moment of peace, grateful and greedy.

And then Leo dies. He doesn’t really, but Jason doesn’t know that. And Jason is so, so very tired. He no longer has any attachment to the mortal realm, he believes that once he Piper broke up with him, she hates him, his best friend (Nico) has a boyfriend and two sisters and is mending his relationship with Percy. His sister never visits, and why should she? He failed her (no he didn’t). Everything is a mess and the only person who ever truly needed him, loved him is dead. (No he’s not. He’s in Indianapolis with a new identity)

If a soldier has no one to fight for, what’s he good for? Nothing. So he throws himself in front of a spear, and trusts that if he’s needed once he’s gone, Nico will drag him back to life by the ear. And he will join his love in Elysium and have eternal peace.

But he gets there, and no-one has seen his love. So he can’t help but wonder whether Leo has gone to be a Shade, and thinks that he must, because no one would dare to say that his Leo, his precious little spitfire, could ever be sentenced to eternal punishment. (Leo is alive. Alive and mourning, with his sister, with Piper, with Reyna and Frank and Hazel and even Apollo and all of the demigods whose lives he’s improved.)

Eventually Jason can’t stand it anymore and goes on to live his second life. A soldier cannot stand at attention for an eternity, and he needs variety. Later that year, Leo dies. Maybe he’s 20 or 30 or older. He asks about Jason upon his arrival, and finds that he just recently chose rebirth. He mourns a bit, but decides the best thing to do is follow.

moving on, number 15- the first ship I liked for pjo was absolutely percabeth. Simple, vanilla ship. I don’t have much to say lol.

23- a ship I like because of fans. personally, I like Connor/Malcolm. I’m a big fan of fleshing out super small characters and then smushing them together, and these two are perfect for that.
