Animage March 2024 Issue ft. Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger Main Cast Member Interviews (translations below)
Publication: February 8, 2024 (between episodes 47-48)
Tumblr media
-Their six hearts are now united as one-
Sakai Taisei: Gira Husty/KuwagataOhger King of Shugoddam. In actuality, he's a being created by Dagded. He vows to his older brother Racules, who had been fighting to save their people, that he'll carry on his will as king.
Watanabe Aoto: Yanma Gast/TomboOhger King of N'kosopa. He was brainwashed by Hilbil, and was about to be consumed by the power that he possessed, but after being punched by Gira, he snaps out of it and they defeat Hilbil.
Murakami Erica: Hymeno Ran/KamakiriOhger Queen of Ishabana. While she was conflicted by the possibility of conquering death through the eternal life that Jeramie possessed, she was determined to use it to defeat Grodie.
Hirakawa Yuzuki: Rita Kaniska/PapillonOhger King of Gokkan and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. They trust Morphonia, their retainer who they've known since law school, and entrusts Gokkan to her as their potential successor.
Kaku So: Kaguragi Dybowski/HachiOhger Lord of Toufu. Wishing for the happiness of his younger sister Suzume, who is in love with Racules, he decides to remove her as a potential successor. Together with Rita, they seal away Minongan.
Ikeda Masashi: Jeramie Brasieri/Spider Kumonos King of the Bugnarak. He was born between a human and a Bugnarak, and wishes for both to coexist. He teaches his people, the Sanagim, how to live hand in hand with others. _
The Six Kingdom Unusual Incident Countermeasure Lifesaving Force, also known as: Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. Centering around the kings of the six kingdoms of Chikyu - Gira, Yanma, Hymeno, Rita, Kaguragi, and Jeramie, it's an alliance formed so they can fight a common enemy, free of personal interests and across all borders.
The kings, who are the rulers of their counties, often took different actions after the formation of the Royal Sentai due to their pride, responsibility, and the mission and beliefs that they held in their hearts. Still, it's also true that a solid bond was formed through their battles.
The event that symbolized this was the second "Wrath of God" by the awakened Grodie. Making the most of their abilities and the power of their countries, the kings trusted each other, and skillfully worked together to bring the situation under control, achieving a miracle of zero casualties.
Even though they talk about it being for the benefit of their country or their own mission, the concern they have for their citizens is mutual. They may never get used to each other, but they don't hesitate to join forces when there's an emergency. This sense of distance and detachment is perhaps the greatest characteristic of the Royal Sentai.
The only remaining enemies are Kamejim, the last of the Uchu Five Jesters, and the Uchu King Dagded, who is responsible for everything. However, the Royal Sentai still don't have the means to defeat Dagded, who possesses unparalleled power. As the decisive battle between the Royal Sentai and Dagded approaches, let's see how it goes down until the final moment! _
-Gira's best scene!-
Murakami: My favorite scene is when he's eating a daikon radish in episode 4! (laughs).
Kaku: How nostalgic!
Murakami: I really liked it! Also, his "archaic smile" (episode 11).
Sakai: Ah! Towards the beginning!
Murakami: Yeah, the child of god Gira. The part with robo Gira was funny too. It's unforgettable.
Watanabe: I liked when he said "Woyal armz!" (episode 45).
Hirakawa: He said something like that (laughs).
Ikeda: That was cute.
Murakami: I liked that too (laughs).
Ikeda: His pill bug (pill taxi) outfit was also cute.
Sakai: I also liked the pill bug costume. And then, there was the confusing scene with Kaguragi towards the end……(episode 15).
Ikeda: The, "Laugh for me!" part. It's cool that you said it so seriously while looking like that.
Kaku: It was a passionate scene.
Ikeda: Jeramie was also watching that exchange nearby, so I remember that scene well. It was also funny to hear him say things like "Poopsopa" (episode 2).
Sakai: I wish I didn't say that.
Hirakawa: I think for me it's the trial scene in episode 5. Out of all the members, Rita was the only one who strongly judged Gira, and I remember Gira's reaction and the change in his facial expression when they told him the facts one by one during the trial. As the presiding judge, they're the only one looking directly at Gira's expressions.
Kaku: That seems to be the case now that you mention it!
Watanabe: As for cool scenes, I like the part in episode 17 when he dodges Yanma's fist. Taisei and I watched it back together 2 or 3 times and said, "Oh! This is it! This is it!" (laughs).
Sakai: Gira is often by someone's side. If it's a main episode for Yanma, he's by Yanma's side, and it's the same for the other. I think that main episodes with Gira being alone are probably the least common.
Kaku: That's true.
Sakai: Still, that's what I really like about them.
Kaku: I think for me, it's when he angrily armed himself with the royal armor in episode 29. When Jeramie betrayed them along with Gerojim.
All: Oh~!
Hirakawa: The part with Hilbil! He said, "That wasn't for you."
Kaku: Right.
Hirakawa: It was definitely cool when the beam of light shined from his eyes.
Kaku: Also, the scene where Gira's face turns into King-Ohger (episode 40).
Sakai: That might be my favorite.
All: (laughs).
Ikeda: Your facial expressions were good too (laughs).
Watanabe: The day after the broadcast, we called Taisei "King-Ohger" (laughs).
Sakai: I was the only one who truly became King-Ohger, so, it was an honor.
All: (burst out laughing).
Hirakawa: It's definitely special (laughs). Gira also has a good character song. I especially like the beginning.
Sakai: The English part. I think it matches Gira's worldview really well.
Ikeda: It's like a culmination.
Sakai: Right, Gira's a culmination.
Kaku: Eh? Shuu"taisei"? (*shuutaisei = culmination)
Ikeda: Yes, you got it (laughs).
Murakami: You're so quick at making puns like that……(laughs).
-Yanma's best scene!-
Kaku: My favorite was, (waving his hand) "Gi~ra~!"
All: "I've come to help you~!"
Murakami: The one where Gerojim impersonates him (episode 8).
Watanabe: That episode was my first time at Mt. Iwafune (a reoccuring location in the Super Sentai series), so I was really excited (laughs).
Hirakawa: Before filming, he looked at the mountain while brushing his teeth and kept saying things like, "Yikes" and "Amazing."
All: (laughs).
Hirakawa: When the camera was pointing at him, he was all smiley and doing peace signs (laughs). In the Yanma, or rather, Aoto scenes, he seemed to be having alot of fun during the body swap episode (episode 28) (laughs). It was funny.
Watanabe: I'm glad you weren't angry at me.
Hirakawa: I wasn't angry (laughs).
Kaku: You kept rolling your eyes (laughs).
Sakai: Do you feel like your range of acting has expanded because of that?
Hirakawa: Yeah, it's expanded. Yanma played Rita in various ways, so when I returned to being Rita, I think my range of the role expanded abit.
Watanabe: I see.
Hirakawa: I don't think you do (laughs).
Murakami: For me, I think it's the "Guess I've become a privileged person." scene (episode 35). Up until that point, Yanma often stood his ground, so I like how he accepted the situation as he watched N'kosopa burn.
Watanabe: That scene was made to look like it was in the evening, but we filmed it first thing in the morning. Furthermore, it was the first scene to be filmed for that episode (laughs).
Hirakawa: That's rough (laughs).
Murakami: Amazing (laughs). He talked about having privileges before with Hymeno, so I was wondering if he found himself back there by chance.
Watanabe: Yeah, he talked about it in episode 7. For scenes in N'kosopa, the hacking battle was also hard……(episode 2).
Kaku: It was really cold, wasn't it?
Watanabe: I couldn't stop my body from shaking or my teeth from chattering. I'll never forget that. I was only calm during the actual performance.
Ikeda: You were extremely focused.
Kaku: I'd name that one as one of the best scenes.
Hirakawa: I'd agree. You worked hard and it paid off.
Ikeda: There were two scenes that I particularly liked with Yanma. One was the scene where he announced himself to his opponent, Daigorg (episode 17). The way he said it was totally different from how he usually said it, and it was very manly. The other was when he was being manipulated by Jeramie (episode 36).
Murakami: That one was funny (laughs).
Ikeda: The awkward dance performance was so good that I bursted out laughing (laughs).
Watanabe: I learned the choreography from Ikeda Sensei.
All: (laughs).
Watanabe: I was told to improvise that scene, but I have no knowledge when it comes to dancing. I asked Masashi for advice, and he taught me the Awa Odori dance of Tokushima, his hometown (laughs). He really helped me out at that time.
Sakai: For me, it's episode 44. In episode 17, Gira dodges Yanma's punch, but in this episode, it's reversed. As I played the role, I was moved, as I was reminded of those days.
Watanabe: And after that, when we beat Hilbil, it wasn't a parody, but I said the same line as in episode 2, being, "Know your place!"
Sakai: That's right!
Watanabe: That was real hot.
Ikeda: Gira and Yanma have quite a few scenes showing the passionate friendship between them, don't they? Truly, a great duo.
-Hymeno's best scene!-
Watanabe: I think I'd pick the body swap (episode 29).
Hirakawa: The way she said "Royal Arms!" was amazing.
Murakami: I'm sorry for doing something that Kaguragi wouldn't do (laughs).
Kaku: It's mutual (laughs).
Watanabe: Matchless Murakami
Hirakawa & Kaku: Matchless Murakami (laughs).
Kaku: I haven't been able to watch the footage yet (at the time of this interview), but it looks like episode 46 will also produce some great scenes.
Watanabe: Yeah, it's between Jeramie and Hymeno. They said some wise words.
Kaku: The movie was also very good.
Sakai: I also really like, "No one can do it but me," when she saves Racules (episode 42). I feel that she's full of confidence.
Kaku: That was really cool. It had a "Black Jack" feel to it. (*character from manga series of the same name)
Murakami: I feel that most of the memorable scenes for Hymeno are related to her family and life.
Kaku: Also, the rage filled fight against Jeramie (episode 14).
Ikeda: I was scared at that time (laughs).
Murakami: Sorry for being so strong (laughs).
Watanabe: In the episode before that, we were beaten up by Jeramie, but this time Jeramie was instantly defeated by Hymeno.
All: (laughs).
Hirakawa: The power balance turned out to be amazing (laughs).
Sakai: There are quite alot of angry scenes.
Murakami: That's true.
Kaku: Especially when it comes to her family.
Murakami: Yeah, the word "you" comes out. I thought it was out of character for Hymeno, but that's what happens when it comes to family matters. (*informal "you" was used)
Sakai: When she got mad at Jeramie, Gira told her that it makes her face ugly.
Murakami: I remember the Director telling me at the time to "make an ugly face." (laughs).
Sakai: I feel kinda bad (laughs).
Hirakawa: For me, it'd have to be episode 30. It's the scene where she faces Grodie. As Rita, she stopped me when I was trying to use the secret technique, so I feel like there was a strong bond that formed between the two of us. It was filmed during the really hot season.
Murakami: It was really tough! I wasn't used to filming on location because we usually only film in the studio, so I was thinking, "I want to be freed from this heat!" (laughs).
Hirakawa: Well, we overcame the filming process by supporting each other. We gained alot from each other through the performance, and the relationship between Rita and Hymeno was established from episode 30, so it was very memorable. It's always touching no matter how many times I watch it.
Ikeda: The episode where Kamejim disguised himself as Hymeno was also good (episode 36).
All: Ah~!
Ikeda: The disguised Hymeno's performance as a villainess was amazing, and I think it showed the strength and beauty of the real Hymeno. I also loved how she said "Let's dance!" with so much energy (episode 34).
Hirakawa: You say that all the time (laughs).
Murakami: That's what Sakanashi Yume-san (KamakiriOhger's Suit Actor) says, so I get really excited when I say it (laughs).
Ikeda: Your pronunciation was also good.
Watanabe: I sometimes want to try and adlib in some English.
Ikeda: I get the impression that she uses English when she's agitated (laughs).
Murakami: That's what happens when I try to show her innocence (laughs).
-Rita's best scene!-
Kaku: For Rita……I guess we can't leave out the idol episode, huh? (episode 38).
Watanabe: Obviously.
Sakai: I think the idol episode is my favorite too. There's a scene where Gira fights with them over the Moffun picture book.
Hirakawa: That's right, that's right. The part with, "Moffun isn't needed anymore, right?!" We practiced that alot, didn't we? Things like, "I'll go this way."
Kaku: Oh~!
Hirakawa: We ran around alot.
Ikeda: I also liked when they changed into the royal armor with the idol costume. Girls must've loved that.
Sakai: It was like Sailor Moon.
Hirakawa: I spoke in a lower voice than usual. Rita was irritated.
Ikeda: Yeah, they were mad.
Hirakawa: Right, that's why it was very low.
Kaku: For upcoming episodes, there's another cool scene in episode 48.
Hirakawa: They say something to Yanma.
Sakai: It was cool.
Kaku: Also, Rita is silly when they eat something like dangos. They try to eat it from above their high collar (episode 5).
Murakami: Rita and food are a good match, huh?
Hirakawa: Eating scenes are pretty difficult. Ultimately, I couldn't even eat those dangos.
Kaku: Is that so?
Hirakawa: Originally, that scene was alot longer, as I was trying out different ways of eating it.
Ikeda: I also like the scene where they dive to grab Moffun.
Murakami: Ah! When they were tricked by Dagded! (episode 31).
Ikeda: Right, Hymeno was playing the role of the plushie.
Hirakawa: Rita shouts, "Moffun!" and lunges for it. My voice was added later during the dub.
Watanabe: Ah, "that one" is probably my best scene (laughs).
Hirakawa: Which? (laughs).
Murakami: He's laughing so hard (laughs).
Watanabe: The scene in episode 4 where Kaguragi calls Rita. It's the part where they walk very slow. Rita, in the beginning, every time they walked, they went super slow.
All: (laughs).
Murakami: It was the same for episode 5. They were reeeally slow (laughs).
Watanabe: I was like, "Can't you just walk normally?!"
All: (burst out laughing).
Hirakawa: You wouldn't stop complaining (laughs). He was saying things like, "Walk so I can hear you!" (laughs).
Watanabe: I want you all to watch it again (laughs).
Murakami: I think I really like the body swap episode (episode 28). If you look closely, you'll see that they're like a DJ (laughs).
Kaku: Yeah (laughs).
Murakami: Normally, Rita can't really break their character, right? That's why I really liked seeing Hirakawa Yuzuki when her screws were loosened. It was also funny to see them trying to get everyone in prison to go home.
Kaku: The "Yay!" part.
Hirakawa: The "careful on your way back" scene.
Murakami: Dialog like that wasn't written in the script.
Hirakawa: I was told to "Just do what fits" (laughs). I thought alot about what to do.
Watanabe: Also, they had such a happy face when they talked to Gira, who was in Jeramie's body.
Hirakawa: It's the part where they say, "We stomp him out and the problem will be solved." Rita never smiles, so I thought I'd show their teeth!
-Kaguragi's best scene!-
Murakami: I really like your interactions with Suzume. I especially like the scenes when Iroki appears from 17 years ago.
Kaku: Episode 37, right?
Murakami: Right. That episode depicted Kaguragi's determination and resolve, and the way he armed himself with the royal armor through the katana was cool.
Kaku: Well, I thought I had been forgiven for everything.
All: (laughs).
Ikeda: I want you to sell me that katana.
Sakai: I'd pick the scene with Iroki from that episode. The exchange with her while the castle was burning was really amazing.
Ikeda: When Suzume first appeared, his "siscon" behavior was uncanny but cute (episode 15).
Kaku: It's not Suzume (acting that way)? (laughs).
Ikeda: Right, it's Kaguragi (laughs).
Watanabe: For scenes with Suzume, I liked the look on his face during Racules and Suzume's wedding (episode 20).
Kaku: He was abit dazed and confused (laughs).
Watanabe: I really like Kaguragi's facial expressions. At some point, you mentioned that the way you smile is based on Ghibli films.
Kaku: Yeah, I think we talked about that.
Watanabe: I remember thinking, "I didn't know he had such an approach!" The scene in episode 39, where Kaguragi looks up at the night sky after defeating Goma made me think, "Ah, this has a Ghibli feel to it!"
All: Ah~!
Watanabe: The way he grinned was very Ghibli like (laughs). It's hard for me to explain it well though.
Ikeda: Does it feel alittle creepy?
Murakami: The smile didn't match the setting, so it's very memorable.
Watanabe: It comes off as creepy and cute at the same time.
Kaku: Cute? (laughs).
Ikeda: Also, there's that other best scene too. His sleeping face when he swaps bodies with Hymeno (episode 28).
Watanabe: The sleeping face of an angel.
Ikeda: An angel (laughs). The sigh that came from him……what else can I say?
Watanabe: An angel's breath.
All: (laughs).
Kaku: You're teasing me~ (laughs).
Murakami: Can you please stop making yourself cuter than the "real one"? (laughs).
Kaku: No, no, the "real one" is cuter than me, right?
Ikeda: (looking at Murakami) Your face is becoming bright red (laughs).
Murakami: Eh? You're kidding?!
Sakai: It's really red (laughs).
Hirakawa: I think it's episode 45 for me. Kaguragi and Rita didn't have that much of a relationship with each other. They didn't have that many scenes together in that episode either.
Kaku: That's true. It's because they're both together with Morphonia and Suzume.
Hirakawa: Right. I really enjoyed the scene where the two of them used the power of the King's Proof.
Kaku: I also became a red oni.
Murakami: That was amazing (laughs).
Hirakawa: That red oni was wild (laughs).
Ikeda: He was as red as Marie's face just now.
All: (burst out laughing).
Kaku: My bad~ (laughs).
Murakami: I seriously need you to cut it out (laughs).
Watanabe: The person in charge of being cute for King-Ohger is me though~
All: (laughs).
Hirakawa: He went and said it (laughs).
Ikeda: You're putting yourself in a dangerous position right now.
Watanabe: These two guys here (Murakami and Kaku) are tough.
Kaku: Does that include me? (laughs).
-Jeramie's best scene!-
Sakai: There's alot for Jeramie.
Murakami: First, there's the battle with Desnarak (episode 26). I really liked that one.
Kaku: We made fun of it by imitating the "It's bright…" scene.
Hirakawa: It's funny when the person who actually fought says it (laughs).
Kaku: Still, that scene was good. While recording the dub, I actually cried.
Hirakawa: That's true, I could hear you sniffling next to me.
Ikeda: Immediately after the recording he said, "I can use this line when inviting someone out to a drinking party."
All: (laughs).
Watanabe: "You're coming too," right? (laughs).
Hirakawa: That's what he said (laughs).
Kaku: Yeah, that's right (laughs).
Hirakawa: I think for me, it's the scene where he declares the founding of his nation in the live broadcast to the people (episode 26).
Kaku: It was something about humans and Bugnarak joining hands.
Hirakawa: Right, "I want you to pass on the story that we were able to reconcile." That speech was really good.
Murakami: I think Jeramie's slightly mischievous and childlike nature is also a key point. It was the same when he was manipulating Yanma in episode 36, or the episode with Racules and the whoopie cushion (episode 19). I guess I like those mischievously funny scenes. There are alot of cool scenes though.
Kaku: It was really cool when the Spider Mask came off (episode 11).
Hirakawa: He flung off his cloak
Kaku: I used to imitate the line, "I'm just an old fashioned storyteller."
Ikeda: And you were good at it.
Kaku: That's when the Jeramie Brasieri competition started, hosted by me (laughs).
Ikeda: Oh yeah. "Is there anyone better than me?!" Isn't that what you usually said?
All: (laughs)
Kaku: That's right.
Sakai: I wonder what it was like stepping on Jeramie (episode 37).
Watanabe: We were trying to eat Grodie's rice balls in Toufu. Gira, Yanma and Hymeno trampled him.
Sakai: It was surprising to see that Gira would step on Jeramie, and I had to put alittle effort into it during filming (laughs).
Ikeda: Yanma was rubbing my butt (laughs).
Kaku: That was funny (laughs). I don't know why Jeramie was being stepped on, since the episode didn't depict that part.
Sakai: I wonder if Jeramie was desperately trying to stop Gira and the others. He gets pushed too hard, and then that happens.
Hirakawa: He gets crushed by three people.
Murakami: Sorry about that time.
Ikeda: Hymeno was the nicest.
Watanabe: It's episode 29 for me. After Jeramie finishes giving his fake speech, Jeramie's song (The Prophet) plays when the five fight.
Hirakawa: It was good!
Watanabe: Jeramie wasn't there, but it felt like the six of them were fighting.
Ikeda: In that scene, you could see the relationship between the five of them from their expressions.
Murakami: It was also sad and beautiful when he said, "Sweet dreams" and then disappeared.
Sakai: It was great (applauding).
Ikeda: Thank you.

Translator's note on suzuracles post-wedding dialogue
It's hard to direct-translate Suzume's tone indicators to English so I could only do my best to imitate her playful tone at the end of each sentence (even though the content/first half is serious she kept the lovestruck persona ending it in "wah~!")
This passage is a bit difficult to me so I checked the dictionary twice. I spent a long time on Suzume's last line. I can't be sure if it is i-u-hou (the speaker) or i-u-kata (the tone+diction) but combining Suzume's tone I think it's the latter one. And, "tsumi". I'm aware of the better-known from W as "sins" but the word has duality and what is sinful may not be illegal, what is illegal may not be sinful (off-track). And we are talking about a morally grey character.
Analysis
The most intriguing suzuracles to me is, they might be the closest in position in terms of sacrificing their personal self for their country, to present a public persona yet they could never confide in anyone, not even to each other, especailly not, even though they knew the other is in the same position as themself. Yet, they have lived under the same roof with each other longer than they did with their own family. That real? not real? love into hatred? hatred into love? into mutual understanding? The quantum state of it is the most captivating to me for them as foils.
I think Suzume is conscious in keeping referring to Racules as "Racules-sama" instead of in second person to keep a distance between them. Let alone "anata" in the "[my] husband" sense. It's okay to love "Racules-sama", it's easy to play the innocent captive of "Racules-sama", but she has seen Racules. Late at night, in between schemes, behind polite threats. Can one fully hate a worthy opponent?
observations:
ラ 「間に合わせだ。売ったところで二束三文にしかならない」
ス 「私を何だと思ってらっしゃるの!?私とラクレス様の愛の結晶に、値段などつけられませんわ」
Racules is testing Suzume. He has no need to play games with her. He knew she was there for Toufu to profit from the start (alt-shugod aid to Toufu in wake of Wrath of Gods).
Translated: Hold on to the ring (game-changer item)
ラ 「…時に君の正気を疑うことがある」
ス 「無理もありません。ラクレス様への愛が、私を狂わせるんですもの!」
ラ 「愛ではなく、憎しみだろう。スズメ・ディボウスキ」
Racules is letting himself show, if a little, if vulnerability, to gain her trust? Suzume DYBOWSKI. DYBOWSKI. THIS MAN CALLED HIS NEWLY WEDDED WIFE HER FAMILY NAME. He knows Suzume will always put Toufu/Dybowski before him or Shugoddom, but she's the only one he can count on now. Because she said it herself, her devotion (to "Racules-sama") is mad unwavered.
ラ 「国のため、道具にされ続け、それでも正気でいられる道理は何だ」
Convince me Racules is not talking about himself. Do, try.
ス 「…トウフの女は、地に足ついてこそ。信ずる道を、踏み外したりはしませんわ」
This line is so hardcore?? More importantly, I can totally see Kamura-san's delievery. Quiet at first, the cold in her eyes, then the naive switch grin at the end!
ラクレスがふっと微笑む。 ラ 「やはり度し難いな」
Suzume managed to make Racules smile! It doesn't specify if he was amused or relieved Suzume caught his metaphor. This is what we are talking about the actor filling in for the script. Then Yano-san's performance can be interpreted a thousand ways based on each viewer! A more literal translation of 度し難い is "beyond help". I think it can also mean the person is beyond salvage as in nothing can change their determination (positive). Racules is talking about himself too! if wryly!
Translated: "you are part of my plan. don't ever change."
ラ 「その指輪は、太陽を浴びて輝く。目を焼かれぬよう、気をつけろ」
Racules-sama, can you be more obvious. Put the wedding ring under the sun to read my secret message, just like I did with what Vetaria left me in my spin-off. The fire imagery!! (re: inferno, re: takamina's "he who shines on the world must burn himself to do so" tweet!!)

Unmedicated ADHD Theories: Gira Isn't People Edition
Basically what it says in the title: Gira isn't people.
What is Gira? A combination of human, Shugod, and Bugnarak.
We know he's at least a little human because A) look at him and B) he has enough human DNA to be related to Racules in a DNA test. We saw in the crossover episode that he has Kuwagata's soul inside of him (hence why he can henshin when separated from Kuwagata and why he talks to all the gods). And we know the soul isn't in Kuwagata so the only other logical conclusion is that it's in Gira.
As for being part Bugnarak (besides some interesting shots of the next episode) Gira is very durable. He routinely survives things he shouldn't be. Like falling off a cliff or being electrocuted. (Remember that when we were introduced to the lie-detector--helmet Shiokara needed to be revived with CPR while Gira walked it off). He's surprisingly hard to kill, kind of like the Bugnarak. The Bugnarak routinely survived things we wouldn't expect them to and Jeramie is 2,000 years old. They're a very durable species..kind of like Gira.
But why? (This is where things get fun.)
Gira was created by King Corsus to be used as a weapon against the Bugnarak. Potentially with the help of Double D since the previous kings of Shugoddam have worked with him and it would explain "I'll show them who you really are." And, maybe, just maybe, with the other previous kings. Here's a short list of what Corsus would need to make this happen: advanced tech, an intricate knowledge of genetics, Bugnarak DNA. And potentially just the agreement of the other kings. All things the other kings of Chikyuu could help him in obtaining.
Further evidence: Gira went missing 15 years ago. But no one in Shugoddam knew. Racules says they "kept it a secret" but what if they didn't tell anyone because they didn't need to? Gira should've been easily recognizable by people as the prince, but he lived among them for years without people knowing. Himeno, who was born into royalty, definitely should've known Racules has a younger brother named Gira who went missing 15 years ago. But we've seen no evidence of that. The only records Rita found in Shugoddam that could coroberate Gira's story was the kitchen records about Rainbow juria. No mention of birth records.
And if Gira had gone missing and they'd truly "looked everywhere for him" as Racules claimed, then Himeno, Rita, and Kaguragi would've already known Racules had a missing younger brother named Gira. But they didn't know.
Almost like Gira was a secret Corsus was keeping from everyone outside a select few in the castle. As if he didn't want people to even know about Gira's existence.
Here's what I think happened: Corsus created Gira to be used as a weapon against the Bugnarak (and maybe even Double D) believing that being a combination of Chikyuu's three species would make him powerful and durable. Corsus had Gira, secretly, raised as the second prince and Racules brother so Gira would feel intensely loyal to Shugoddam and Racules. So if anything happened to Corsus, Gira would still do as Racules said. Racules was eventual told the truth about Gira (probably in the flashback where we see Boshimar coming to get him because Corus wanted to speak with him). Potentially, Corsus was hoping the fate of Shugoddam and humanity hanging on this would override Racules' feelings for Gira.
(Or he hoped Racules would stop having fondness for Gira after learning Gira wasn't really a person.)
But this is where his plan backfired. Young Racules loved his brother and couldn't accept what his father had planned for Gira. So, he overthrew his father and disappeared Gira for his own safety. He threw all his effort into unlocking the OhgerCaliburZero, and gaining some control over the other kings, hoping that would be enough to stop the Bugnarak and appease Double D. And it all goes according to plan right up until the moment Gira came back.
TLDR: Gira is a "Frankenstein's monster" that Corsus created to use against the Bugnarak (maybe even with the help of Chikyuu's other previous kings). When Racules learned the truth, he overthrew his father and disappeared Gira.

Racules literally did nothing wrong this entire time
I might be stretching with "nothing" but still
He didn't show up personally to defend the kindom in ep1, but his soldiers were sent there and GodKuwagata wasn't awakened so he couldn't have done anything more. His presence wouldn't make any significant difference
Gira defied him, stole his stuff, usurped power and risked destabilizing the society in such a dire time. He might be Racules' brother but who knows what extremist group kidnapped him and brainwashed him with the sole intent of destabilizing and taking over the country
Deal with N'kosopa from ep.2? He wanted a criminal handed over, that's reasonable. Refusal to help unless Yanma apologises? It was Yanma who first refused to cooperate, because he was too proud to accept that someone else might be a leader. If Yanma didn't want to play according to the Alliance rules, why would anyone else help him in such case?
Sure, he threatened Rita to get the desired judgement, but... he didn't get it and in the end did nothing about it
When Gira returned to Shugoddam, he was welcomed warmly by the peasants, so someone had to tell them about him. Racules also welcomed Gira as well. Sure, he might have been insincere but Gira never even tried to clear things up or discuss, he went straight to attack
Even after that, Gira was only condemned by Racules when he went directly against him during Bugnarok attack rather than deal with the problem first and argue later, which even Yanma pointed out to be a stupid decision
He threatened to take away other kings' control over their Shugods, but again, it was clearly just a diplay of power to make them comply. He could have easily hijacked the shugods for good and refuse to release them until others comply, but he did nothing in regard to that ever since. Again, an empty threat
But why threaten them in the first place? Well, operating King-Ohger requires cooperation and it's an important component in ensuring survival of humanity as a whole. But, as we saw, other kings are proud, selfish etc. Like, when they had Gira, they all tried to claim him and King-Ohger for themselves, only thinking of survival of their own country rather than whole of humanity. Racules is the only one who thinks of the bigger picture. If other kings are too stubborn to accept that they might need to compromise, then Racules will make them
Not only that, but Shugoddom is the kingdom that has fortifications and actual army, compared to all the other ones that don't seem to have any. Shugoddom is considered the guardian kingdom and Racules wears a miliary uniform. It all suggests that Shugoddom is the military country. If so, it all makes sense that Racules would be the one in charge of defending the humanity against Bugnarok
The duel? First, it was Kaguragi's idea. Second, appearence of a usurper may divide the kingdom and it's not good in a dire situation like the one we're currently in. What's more, we all know already that Gira would jump at Racules next time he'd see him anyway. There is also no indication that taking children hostage was Racules' idea rather than Boshimar's, for example
During the duel, Racules played completely fair. First he was just parrying Gira's attacks. He urged Gira to give up. Had the poison, but only used it on the intruder. Complained that Gira questioning him about the past is a dirty move and duel should be sacred. He avoided all of Gira's vital points
Hell, the only character he actually killed by himself was Vedalia in the special and it's only because she turned into a Bugnarok. Racules never killed any human, though
There is Kaguragi's sister, but she litaerally stays there out of her own will, either being genuinely in love with Racules or because it's all part of the plan to help Toufu. She seems to be treated well, Kaguragi managed to barge into her room with no problem which suggests the door were open. She literally walks around the castle in episodes 18 and 19 and in 19 she has a phone
Alliance with Bugnarok? Wasn't that what Jerami wanted? Ending the conflict with the treaty would be beneficial for everyone, especially that so far we seem to have a stalemate that puts people's lives at risk. Sadly, the Bugnarok had other plans
Regarding his invasion of N'kosopa, he warned Yanma ablut it hours beforehand and he had a lot of time to prepare himself and evacuate the people. The attack was directed at Yanma himself rather than on the rest of the country and its people. Yanma was given opportunity to surrender (and act behind Racules' back like Kaguragi) but he refused, fully knowing the consequence of such choice
He scared his guards and Suzume away so they wouldn't find themselves in the crossfire and despite being vastly outnumbered he fought for his kingdom
Notice how all of the kings appeared to be assholes at first, but then we got to know them better and there was more to them than it seemed, except Racules, with whom Gira didn't even have enough time to interact with to get to know him better
Racules has all the reasons to act the way he does. Sure, from the moral perspective his actions were highly unethical, but they were taken with Shugoddom's best regards in mind

"The gate has opened.
A new history has written down.
Seven kings of the seven world gathered
and headed for a new kingdom.
All will be one, and the one will be all,
All come to mean the world.
King, draw your sword."
"He who holds the sword, bear the weight.
Carry onto a new era."
And that's how Kingdom starts off in a way, those texts are in the very first debut album of Kingdom and I absolutely loved their concept since the very beginning.
Now... It does sound very similar to King Ohger right?? I'm not going crazy because I obsess over two things and want to connect them no?? No! Because!! I already did this before King Ohger even started, just when it was barely announced. Sure there was a lot of hype anyway because it was the first Sentai season I was there for from the very beginning, and I absolutely love themes like that, but I was even more hyped because it just reminded me SO MUCH of Kingdom, which is one of my favourite bands. I own every album (versions) and have written a whole theory google doc combined with an introduction for my friend and made a whole personal archive of all their stuff ,,,
It was just perfect, the main characters are a bunch of kings of different kingdoms, all of which look completely different and are centered around one big theme.
And then I noticed how some were kind of overlapping with King Ohger, the more got announced about that show.
So I planned on doing this Kingdom X King Ohger thing a while back, but then I didn't really want to start it yet since King Ohger was just beginning, and looking back it was a smart move because a lot of things changed. For example, I probably would've put Ivan and Rita together because of snow, same with Mujin and Kaguragi because of the outfits and theme, just like Louis and Himeno, once again for that exact reason.
Sure, I could also just make one based off of aesthetics alone, but now I like to put a bit more lore into it! Because that's what it's all about, the LORE
So how am I doing this now? First, next thing I'm gonna do is share my notes on who I'm pairing up with who and why. Or at least, I try to explain why I think it fits. Then, I'll add some parts of the Kingdom member's "song" that I think also further prove my point...or something like that. And some photos I thought could have a similar vibe when I went through my albums and archives and stuff. (Also I love calling it archives that sounds so professional hdhdhddh)
I mean, at the end of the day it's just a little project I plan on doing for fun for two things I love so it doesn't have to make much sense right? Jdhdjd I doubt anyone that's gonna see this has both of these things as an interest anyway. Well maybe, who knows.
Anyway, one thing it all leads up to is me making some fanart and I'm thinking of drawing the Kingdom members and mix up their outfits with their "corresponding" King Ohger character. I'll think about later if I do a group pics, or do multiple for each character and whatnot. Maybe I'll even assign them differently just based on outfits alone, since a lot of them fit outfit/kingdom theme-wise but not really character-wise?
But now it's brainstorming and planning time!!
Arthur - Racules
Tumblr media
(I'm not writing this name Rkules or whatever weird spelling they gave him-)
Arthur is not the leader, but the first one to be revealed as a king. The power of Excalibur is both what helps him and what leads to his downfall in a way, kind of like Racules' power lust is what makes everyone turn against him and makes his "downfall" for now happen. Idk man. Does that make sense? They're not TOO similar but similar enough? Plus, Arthur definetly feels like he's got the most smug Racules vibes in the music videos. Ivan is a close second, but for him it's way more of a Gira vibe.
Excalibur
"Destiny is in my hands
This fantasy will unfold
The master key will blow away
All the madness spiraled in chaos"
"Hold onto your wounds
Cut by pieces of glass deep inside
Your heart like sharp thorns
To the end of the world, I'm killin'
Bear the weight of the crown"
"History begins with us
The world must work properly
The colour becomes clearer, reject any fear
Kneel and pray in front of the closed castle gates"
Ivan - Gira
Tumblr media
Ivan might rule over the Kingdom of Snow BUT he is really not like Rita at all. The kingdom fits well, but other than that... I don't know... But here too, Racules could be kind of fitting, but it's just different, y'know? It's more like a Gira VS Racules internal fight for Ivan if that makes sense?
He has to decide how to defend his kingdom and for that he uses the power of evil. Y'know. Like the... the evil king Gira? Also their facial expressions when they want to look "evil" are very similar and not very convincing because they just have babyfaces 😭
Black Crown
"With a bit of cruel
But beautiful dangerous power
Getting something
Means losing something
A paradox which I swallowed enchantedly"
"Accept it, just the way you are
Wake it
Don't forget who we are
Engrave it
Raise the holy grail above your head
Put on the black crown
Endure the pain of astonishing power
There's no limit"
"Rather than losing the world
I would become a monster
I choose suffering
Over the loneliness which overwhelms
The evil power of necessity given to me"
Louis - Jeramie
Tumblr media
NOW, when King Ohger barely was out, I already had the idea of making this "crossover", especially because King Ohger started airing in the same month a new Kingdom album came out which was insane for me who's obsessed with Kingdom's universe and Toku so it was a win for me for sure.
But also, when King Ohger started, Jeramie technically didn't "exist" yet and I'd given Himeno the position here because of the whole Kingdom of Aesthetic deal. And the outfits, they are basically the exact same.
HOWEVER. Louis is insanely fitting for Jeramie, because both of them feel like outsiders and having lived through many more years than any human ever would.
Also, Louis is one I noticed the most often being bount/restrained in some kind of way. I've made some connections how it's often in an almost connection with Chiwoo and Mujin, but I mean that doesn't really have anything to do with the topic rn,,
But yeah,,
Long Live The King
"Time goes off
A lot of things were destroyed then go
But I always existed
I protected my kingdom"
"A child stuck in a time of loneliness
When will this chaos end
I'm on the eye of the storm"
"Lights out bright light, I'm alone under the lights
Dancing in my own
Shining upon me, the spotlight
I can feel it even with my eyes closed"
"Before that sun rises again
The moment I waited with bated breath
Even if everything changes, I shall stand here"
"Running out of time, nothing can stop me
With my own two hands, I'll write again the destiny
Long live the king
Long live the king, I'm a light that will never go out"
"Winding up the spring of endless memory
Unfamiliar masks are dancing in the hall
The moment the good and evil collide
The second hand stops as if it's laughing at me again
Even with the darkness cast inside me
What brightens is the small flame
To this soul that went against the world, what isn't granted is the finale"
Dann - Rita
Tumblr media
I was debating on wether to give him Racules or Rita. I know, Racules again, but they are all very serious and strict in a way and the main characters are all way more silly? So yeah.
But after thinking a bit about it, I think Rita is quite fitting. Dann is quite... stoic? Serious? In the music videos, and often seems to be some kind of advisor to other's.Plus, he's got more of that cold vibe that Rita has? Also in general, his music video is just very fitting, the vibe is really perfect.
Ascension
"I'll leave behind the tears in agony
I'll just pass by
Willow leaves shaking precariously
As soon as the wind strikes
All the arrows with resentment are pointing at me"
"One beautiful day
The flower blooms splendidly
One sad night
The deep shadow troubled my heart"
"A glance in between the narrow bars
I see all the enemies coming
They are puring down at once, keep your ground"
"All the evil souls
Burn it all
I'll turn everything back to its original state"
"Spread the wings. Strike hard
Those who rebelled, you will drown in blood
I'll protect you, I miss you
Enchanting ascension over the horizon"
"Knife of condemnation
Don't forget my royal command"
Mujin - Himeno
Tumblr media
Another one I really had to debate. In a way I think aesthetic-wise Kaguragi is the most fitting, Mujins theme being traditional Japanese and all, and Himeno would technically fit better in the Kingdom of Aesthetic, but just character-wise I feel like Himeno fits. Also, "Kingdom of Cherry Blossoms" does sound really fitting for Himeno too. And the whole self sacrifice, or rather doing everything for the wellbeing of your own kingdom-theme is also very in character. Also, not like Mujin as the lore character, but Mujin himself loves to be a bit silly just like Himeno :D
And also Dystopia overall is kind of similar to certain events that happened in the show I guess?? So like??
Dystopia
"Rewing the strings of fate and bloom with all your might
All delight swiftly crushed by the rise of rampant evil"
"The flower that blooms in deep darkness
The overwhelming sword of salvation
Sinking into the abyss
Like a dystopia"
"On the night when hatred opened its eyes
The darkness swallows the light
The power of the cherry blossoms suddenly dissapear
The song of monsters
Extinguish the embers of chaos
Just you watch I will definetly shatter it all"
"The flower petals are blooming again
The light of my soul is getting darker
Even if I cross the bounds and dissapear it does not matter"
Hwon - Yanma
Tumblr media
This one's hard to properly explain so just believe me when I said it appeared to me in a dream or whatever. IDK at the same time they are quite different but the vibes are just kinda fitting, y'know? And Yanma is quite uh... stormy I guess I don't know man this is hard to justify with words,,
Overall, Hwon is the hardest to fit in because we know the least about him, since he's still quite new and hasn't gotten an album yet... but I mean I might come back to this all later and update it when both Jahan and Hwon have an album!!
Jahan - Kaguragi
Tumblr media
So, Kaguragi was really hard to decide if he's more fitting for Mujin or Jahan. Guess in a way Kingdom of Sun is fitting, bees and harvest and all I guess. Anyway, I did a lot of Kingdom analysing and looking in detail through the music videos and lore and Jahan often seems a bit confusing, in a way it's never too obvious which side he's on? He can seem more mischievous, even when he's acting serious. If that makes sense.
And gah sadly no Jahan album yet either. BUT SOON. Hopefully. I mean his specific Kingdom logo was revealed so I guess it's in the works?? 😭

Wow, Adventure Heaven! What a good movie I totally just saw! I liked the part where Moffun showed up and ate an entire box of Milk Duds, cardboard and all~! And the part where Racules spelled his name out in Romaji on a blackboard and it wasn't "Rcules" because goddammit that is fucking bullshit~!
Anyways, time for Episodes 24-26~!
Spoilers, I guess...
-I don't know why you seem so surprised about Dezzy blowing up the planet, Jimmy. I mean, have you met him?
-Gerojim! I missed you, yo!
-Ahhhh, so Tikyuu's already got its core science down.
-Oh!
-Okay, apparently bedrock just doesn't exist in this universe.
-"I will be king! And none will challenge me!"
-Spiders Jeremy comes to play the game!
-Grandpa putting you to bed.
-Jeremy hijacked the intro entirely for himself this time, okay!
-The king is boiling alive, and he hasn't even been coronated for a few days!
-Holy shit, 90%???
-Damn Yanma, do you not have liquid nitrogen lying around?
-...Rita, is there some secret stash of Moffun and Me merch hidden somehwere in this castle that Racules had? Are there Moffun Chunkopops?
-Three cities! For three baskets of crops!
-Oh, Gira...
-Boone...
-"How can you people party when we're all melting?"
-Matsuri, matsuri da~!
-...Tarou-san...
-"I know all about your stupid planetary genocide plan~!"
-Goddamn, Jeremy looks great in that torchlight.
-One of the best staples of any JRPG~! The festival sequence~!

-Stupid carnies!
-Lunch time~! Lay it on us, K-Man.
-Utage ja Ohger Jumpscare
-Rita's so adorable in that outfit, holy crap
-"Get out there, boy."
-Dezzy's insight is rather surprising. Forced to answer for crimes he had no hand in while those who put his people there party above them...
-Ohhhh, those are simply lovely parallel effects...
-"I will be the pen that writes my tyrannical legend."
-"Ehh... idk, maybe this whole tyranny thing isn't working out for me."
-Th
-Awww, Douga :)
-Man, looking at the green screen for long is fuckin' with my sense of perspective.
-It's like if George Lucas directed a season of Power Rangers.
-"Oh, hey Jeremy :)"
-Jeremy...
-All this time...
-Big crawfish!
-Po boys for everyone!
-That boy can dig.
-"Anyone got any bright ideas?"
-Fishing!
-Okay, that is smart writing.
-Can't burn somebody already boiling alive.
-Now to plug all these holes.
-Oh Dezzy...
-Oh, goin' full King already.
-Holy shit, he tanked that.
-Idomonarak??
-Ohhhhhhhh
-Family...
-He's just shuffling on...
-And yet he hears nothing.

-GEROJIM
-DUDE
-"I'll handle this one."
-OHHHHH
-That is devious.

-Holy shit
-Testing a man's resolve so hard.
-"Serve your king. As the first of the Bugnarok."
-Chosen by the gods.
-Kofuki's unprepared.
-"...I'm starting to regret this idea now."
-King Nerd and his posse ride on!
-I see Himeno's retinue are quite resolute.
-Last meal.
-"My nasty-ass hands ask to be taken! Kuroda! Suzume! I beg of you!"
-Hello, Morphonia~!
-Kabedon
-Ohhhhhh the hug!!!
-"The will to succeed."
-Kuwagon...
-Thump!
-No more sacrifice plays! Only the finest perfect run here!
-Damn
-Boone didn't hesitate for a second.
-It's time for your advent, God King-Ohger!
-That is one huge son of a bitch.
-Long-ass jingle too.
-God descends, and they are a chimeric arthropod!
-Removed.
-Ikuzo!
-This is simply marvelous.
-"On your call, Ant Boy!"
-Ohsama Sentai! King-Ohger!
-Goodbye, Emperor Dethnarak.
-We saved the world~!
-...kinda!
-One last episode for this arc, of course.
-Ah yes, the best solution for racism. Genocide.
-"All the Bugnarok will die too, you moron."
-"Let's meet somewhere nicer. You can even borrow this if you want."
-Sweet prince Jeremy...
-Oh?
-"Hey, Arbiter! Can't arbit with goosebumps?"
-Ohhhhh
-I see...
-Oh crap, Himeno.
-OHHHHHH
-Those're the locusts!
-A pile of dead flies.
-Jesus Christ...
-Oh, already revolting.
-That is messed up, man.
-Emperor Dezzy's got a stummyache.
-Gerojim's a force ghost.
-Oh!
-It's a little guy!
-"Can you help him?"
-Dethnarak...
-I never expected much from him, and yet...
-Goddamn, this is some tragic-ass theming.
-"Get out of here! You stupid dumb animal!"
-They fightin'!
-"Look at how bright and beautiful the sun is!"
-Gira...
-Yep. We would've done the same goddamn thing.
-And we would've kept doing that same goddamn thing over and over again.
-Let it fall, buddy.
-We're doing it good!
-Oh
-Oh fuck you Kamejim.
-"Two thousand years of planning! Stoking the fires of prejudice, killing, stealing, lying, destroying. All down the drain!"
-What the hell is that
-"Be king. Let our people see the beautiful shining sun!"
-Dethnarak...
-Returned to nothing but cinders.
-Jeremy's fucking pissed.
-Time for everybody to play their part once more.
-"Now, what to do with you kids~?"
-Clocked
-Even at his last breath, Kamejim refused to get it.
-Goodbye, stinkbug man.
-The Bugnarok are heretofore recognized as their own domain.
-There's no need for hatred any more. Never there was.
-Man and bug. Hand in pincer, hand in wing, hand in leg.
-No cheer or joy. Just a message made clear.
-"Now, let's make a beautiful new story~!"
-Ohhhhhhhhh
-Ah, yep. Planet.
-I forgot.
-Alienses~!
-Galactinsects, they're called.
-Oh wow, a timeskip.
-WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH FINALLY!
-I'M CAUGHT UP!
-THE CURSE HAS BEEN LIFTED!

Kingohger ep20
i'm not well
take a deep breath Wedding…
no op…
that's the face of a man who's soul has left him
sorry racles look good in full mantle
you guys don't even bother to go to the wedding 😂 but i guess racles never sent out invites
Gira is back in his cell😭😭
Gira you can't just say you wanna be somewhere other than the cell and immediately follow up with the evil king act 😭😭
Rita is gonna be fed up with you one day with that drama talk like jeramie
Ani-ue…
you two should've been the one married.
are they same age or not?!
this ep has so much target to meet in the runtime if Jeramie is narrating midway
Boshimaru jumped ship no surprise
Dougu… (me dead passed out on the floor)
Omg shot by shot recreation of ep8
but the music is so… normal/relaxed?
Rita looks completely fed up like this is gonna become a weekly match lol
oh Gira's necklace is back in frame
Himeno swordfighting in the dress is so cool 😭
omg black white outfit switch good for them
not sorry i can distinguish the fake Kagu jsut by pecs alone
OP put here??
the tone is too light-hearted so far *frowns*
yep yappari because there is the surrender option. matched with a Tool theory i read that Gira asked for a duel just so he can talk to his brother. you could say i got spoiled but it's a reasonable deduction with the clues given from the show. so i'd say that's solid writing if you just give the story patience
Giving up his victory in return for the Racles apology to the people such a very Gira thing to do…
live Rita fighting 😍😍😍
huh we have a whole part 3 left…
ooh i thought Kagu just didn't hand him the right one that's a good plan
it's recreating ep8 down to the poison switch
Jeramie can't see pass bug disguise 🤔
I don't believe Racules didn't already know Boshimaru is a spy but regardless his care for the Tools are showing like Spin-off #1
so so much live rita and wings two weeks in a roll thank you 🙏🙏
yes yes yes thank you for the brother conflict follow up to 18
Yes OST V1T5 Racles's Conpiracy!!! INFERNO IT'S YOUR TURN
yan hime combo fight!
Kamejim is green?
INFERNO not quite, but V1T22 "I will Rule the World" huh entirely just Gira's BGM instead of a shared song
I LOVE the full villain angle they are taking with Racules at least on the surface. I won't rule out Yano-san's effort made the character more sympathetic and affected his future course, but at the current stage, I'm satisfied if the script can round itself up from the Villain Racules angle.
V1T1 😭😭 The 5 Kings. I knew I'm gonna cry when they replay this track from ep1's ending. I'm gonna cry so hard when they play it at the series finale.
YESSS FILLER EPISODES FINALLY THANK YOU
(wouldn't be surprised if Erica does know how to play the piano)
RECGONITION? INTERNATIONAL RECGONITION AND Rita face reveal??? THANK YOU OH TOEI THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM MY LEGAL AND YUZUKI NERD HEART

ok this is p much just a rant/talking through my feelings about a situation that happened, it’s not about anyone or anything that most of my followers will care about. I don’t know if i’m going to get backlash for this. I hope I don’t. In fact, most of the people over in this server don’t even follow me, so will I get hate? It’s time to find out! Will someone link it to a mod to show just how fucking tired I am? Problably!
so as many of you know i run multiple servers, if it’s a mod situation or an owner situation. Usually, everything’s fine. I enjoy almost ever server i’m in.
Now, y’all know that I’ve been active in fandom for??? Years at this point. I have a story that was posted in jan 2014. I have almost 14 unique fandoms on my AO3 alone, and more people have read my stories than the town i grew up in. Before that, i was writing elsewhere that’s since been deleted cause it wasn’t hte quality I like to put out anymore.
I have never gotten to a point where I’ve wanted to abandon every single part of all fandom. That point has been met today.  I've been in almost every major fandom at some point. I started w james bond, then I was in superwholock... I’m absolutely a resource for more almost the last decade of frivolous fandom history.
I have never found such toxicity as I do in the mi//////raculous fandom, and I’ve been in the fandom since s1 came out in Netflix, i believe around 2016-2017. I was there when we were a tiny little french fandom, and these days, I cannot stand seeing all the hate and disgust that has been shown here.
There’s so much positive in this fandom. We are literally based around a show that praises thinking through your feelings and talking them out, as well as helping even at the expense of yourself.
These are wonderful values.
But when you own a server that is about said show, you need to think about the values you’re presenting in your server.
I’m not mad at anyone, i’m just so tired. No one was willing to communicate. People jumped ship before explaining a single thing to me.
I’ll admit I fucked up this morning. I reacted harshly to a situation that happened in a server I mod, and i’m not going to talk about my admins.
But this entire server was created to help with off topic situations. The owner of the original server wasn’t happy with all the off topic, as it was distracting from the server, and I jumped in and offered to help. I was raised to always help. I was raised to be a good person, to offer anything that someone needed help with, if it was big or small, but if I was able to, I would. I still give money to homeless people if they’re asking for it. It’s just a kind thing you should do.
Again, I’m not saying i was in the right, again. I fucked up.
But as much as I am obsessed with writing these characters, i’m going to be jumping ship. I’ve only been back in this fandom for a few months, but it’s so toxic!
I joined back in, thinking people were just as accepting of every ship to find out that if you’re in the main fandom, and you ship certain ships that aren’t “established” You’re kicked to the side.
If you’re a shipper of this specific ship, and you don’t hate a specific character who’s literally never spoken, you’re unable to participate in 90% of discussions.
No one should live like that. It’s impossible to find a place that’s supportive, kind, and generally good.
I’m just so tired with everything. i don’t want to fight. i don’t know what to do. Shit’s bad in my life, just like everywhere. I wish that I’d handled this morning better, but I didn’t. I wish I hadn’t even made this overflow server, and honestly, as soon as i’m done with these current fics, I’m out of the fandom entirely. The fact that I even made it this long is honestly a huge surprise to me. The fact I’m even willing to finish this story, and move onto another fic other than this, before leaving, speaks to my love of this show.
But the fact that there is so much negativity, possessiveness, and cliquiness, is appalling.
And I know i’m not the first person to make this statement. i’m just so tired y’all. This is sucking the love out of all of my other places of love.

while i don't necessarily find anything wrong with suzume choosing to be with racules over being kaguragi's successor, i do wish they'd expanded upon suzume more outside of her relationships with racules and kaguragi. what about her feelings about the state of the world she lives in, her interests, her strengths and weaknesses? we see her with a sword from time to time, but we don't see her wield it. we see her devotion to toufu, but we don't see her feelings about shugoddam or the people even though she's lived there for many years. she was queen for a period and is part of the royal family in shugoddam as well as toufu, what responsibilities has she held related more so to her position rather than the relationships that put her there? i just feel like suzume could be a character that loves her husband, but should have a sense of individuality/independence separate from her relationships with the men in her life.

The episode was awesome but the preview stole the spotlight like usual (I mean, Suzume and Racules' wedding?! screaming)
Also, I'm afraid I'll have to start to come to terms with the fact that Racules may not be a 6D chess player after all, but he just can keep up an appearance as if he was
Anyway, the crown is seen in the shot of the wedding, so it's either after the duel and Racules won or it's just some loophole like "if you marry Suzume, you can skip the duel and keep the crown" but he'll end up refusing it (I doubt it, though it would be funny if it was like "I'm sorry, Suzume, but I'm gay for your brother", haha. Though, I think I'm team Suzuracules by now)
Safe to say that no matter who wins, Racules will (most likely) survive so, yay!
Also, Gira trying to stop Yanma from killing Racules, so cute, I want my kids to become good brothers again
Anyway, in preview images we see both Gira and Racules having the crown power-up at some point, and the shot with Racules having the blade at Gira's neck, plus the crown in the wedding shot makes me think Racules would win (I mean, that would be hilarious, imagine. Every time they duel, you expect Gira to win because he's the protagonist and he is supposed to win, but every time Racules wins because he's simply more skilled swordsman)
But then there's also Gira's coronation from the upcoming Adventure Heaven film and so it would appear that Gira should win. And there's also the 3rd part of the Racules spin-off. But they have like 1,5 of a week between the 20th episode and the film? So I guess once we start the new arc in 21st episode? Could it be that Racules goes with Suzume on a honeymoon and Gira is crowned a king in Racules' absence? Is that a thing?
Whatever, I just want my babies to be happy (Though, I'd love for Racules to remain a king, if at least he'd get to co-rule with Gira, that could be cool)

^ I can't with their faces
Also also, I need the cast to make a video of them dancing as if it was on Racules and Suzume's wedding, come on

So I just watched latest King Ohger episode (the 6th one) and I gotta say I love Racules. Yes, he's an asshole but the way in which he was an asshole! It was so impressive! So brilliant yet it felt almost effortless on his side!
He had everything figured out, everything prepared. Everything was happening on its own and he was just slightly pulling the strings to direct events in his favour
He knew that Gira is too rightous to ever join him. It was easy to predict how will he act, so it was easy to prepare the strategy
Ooh, let me just take that God Scorpion's Soul really slowly... aaaand.... oh! Gira! My dear brother! Let's save our beloved people together? Huh? You don't want to join forces with me and don't believe in my honest intensions? And you openly despice me! I have absolutely no idea what made you act this way! Opposing me in a dire situation like this only endangers our kingdom, wouldn't you say, conveniently present eye-witnesses?
Besides, has he made artificial Shugod? (It's a Shugoddom after all) So impressive, he didn't beat around the bushes waiting for Bugnarok. God Beetle doesn't want to cooperate with me? Who cares, I made my own (Kinda: destiny didn't choose me so I chose my own destiny (couldn't be why Gira disappeared? He was the chosen of Shugods so Racules had to remove him? Well, we'll see))
Yanma, best hacker of N'kosopa: "It's impossible to hack Shugods and control them"
Racules: "Hold my Rainbow Jururira, Peasant Boy"
But how did he control Scorpion if it was lost for so long...? Oh... unless... Kaguragi, you sly beast! I bet he swapped the Scorpion's Soul with a fake before handing it over to Racules. Or maybe they somehow took control of it long time ago and sneaked it to Gokkan to have Bugnarok target them? Either way, Kaguraki is still Racules' mole and they definitely work together. I hope we'll get a flashback on how they became such bffs, because they seem to be eager to backstab anyone besides each other
Sigh, I always end up liking villains more, even when the heroes are so cool like here... I just love that he's such a cunning bastard, with a plan for everything while also maintaining his PR and blaming his misdeeds on others. Gives me such Palpatine vibes (and I love Palpy too)
Also, I don't really buy that "Gira was kidnapped" part. At least not fully. I'm able to believe that Gira actually was kidnapped but there's still something's fishy about it

Me, throwing out all the theories about "Racules' real deal" I had as for now, because after latest episode everything changed and a new theory emerged
So just like every week
Shogods, I love this show and especially I love Racules
This time, we had more Hastie brothers as kids. We learned that Gira's idea about what a king should be, that he expressed from the very first episode, was what his older brother told him back in the day. That's so adorable, yet Racules called it just a child's fantasy, with his voice breaking
It feels to me, like Racules used to believe all that but a "crash with the reality" happened that made him the way he is now. Something that disencouraged him from chasing that dream, that made him bitter and ruthless. That "world is cruel so I too must be cruel to face it"? Or "people use each other so I should use them before they use me"?
Could it all lead back to Wrath of God? Or maybe Racules used to be a benevolent ruler until something happened at the end of his spin-off? Although, his deal with Kaguragi was made 15 years ago so I guess it would be the former but the spin-off will either drag it to the surface for the audience to see or just add another layer to it
There us also yet another part worth to mention. It's how after Gira gave his typical Evil King speech, Racules called him a monster. What's worth to note, that at the end of their duel, back in episode 8, when Gira was hugging now detransformed Gerojim, Racules said that he knew that Gira was the enemy of the people and was working with Bugnarok. Now, both of those were caught on camera so there's no telling how genuine those statements are or whether they're just PR. But if Racules was genuinely convinced that Gira's very being is a threat to the world, that would explain why he was so determinated to have him killed during early episodes
Of course, we need to acknowledge that Kaguragi, with his sister's help, slayed in this episode. Ironic, Racules kept Suzume to have a leverage on Kaguragi, but in the end it was what allowed Kaguragi to strip him of his power insert Palpatine saying "Ironic" gif
That being said, yet another ship for Racules goes down. First Kaguragi and Racules don't scheme together because "they are like that" but because Suzume is involved. Then, it's revealed that Racules never felt bad about killing Vedalia and turned himself to set a trap for Bugnarok. Now, Suzume's feeling were indeed just an act and she stabbed him right in the back
Of course, all of those made for cool plot points, I guess the story they set in motion was much better than any ship could be, but it's still quite sad (Hopefully Gira will regain enough memories to rekindle an ounce of brotherly love, I just want for someone to care for him, come on)
That being said, Racules' relationship with Suzume is still quite a mystery. They've been locked up together in that castle for 15 years, being each other's only mutuals available. Even if they have no romantic feeling towards each other, Racules still let her go all over him back in episode 15. Boshimar didn't seem to be bothered at all that Suzume walks freely around the castle and his only complaint was her sitting on the throne, and she still silenced him soon enough. Sure, it could have been a coincidence, and Suzume could have been only trying to save her brother from being arrested, but her directly sitting on the throne, having Kaguragi impersonate a beetle that took his line of sight to the necessary level and her waving her feet, bringing attention to the space right next to the secret button. All of it suggests that she knew that it was there. And now, could it be that she was sneaking around the castle in the stealth mode like Kaguragi and kurokos were and she found it, or maybe she managed to get it out of Racules himself? I guess we'll have to wait and see
That being said, the ending of the episode implies that the theories that the Bugnarok have infiltrated Shugoddom have been correct and now, using the fact that Racules has just been beaten and lost the crown, they decided to unleash what they've been planning and swiftly take over Shogoddom. Whether Racules was aware of the whoke deal or not remains a mystery for now, but I guess it's clear that the Bugnarok didn't reveal their presence to him before and even if he knew, they didn't know that he did
Preview for the next episode, suggests that episode 20 will be the end of another arc, that all kingdoms will unite, that the movie's coronation will be indeed a real thing and that the first 20 episodes of the show are basically a pilot supposed to explain how the status quo has been reached and how our team has been formed. If my speculations from before will turn out to be correct, this will start the middle arc of the season with more chill atmosphere, with Gira being a king of Shugoddom and having a peace among the nations (human ones, at least)
This won't last long, of course, because then The Real Threat will be revealed, with whoever was behing Wrath of God coming back (my money is still on Corsus Hastie, possibly in cahoots with Kamejim. If Racules found out about his father's being responsible for this, could this be the "clash with reality" that changed him? Also, the trip to the Underworld that every Shugoddom ruler has to go through, as the movie states?), and us entering the final arc, with, hopefully, Racules re-entering the game to stir the plot
Speaking of Racules, the lack of him in the preview has me both worried and intrigued. I wonder what happened to him after Kamejim's "warm welcome" and what will be of him once Shugoddom is taked back by the team
EDIT: there he is! 😍

Having grown to appreciate her unusually kind form of selfishness, Gira propositions the exceptional Queen Himeno for aid in his crusade in the aftermath of the battle at Ishabana's capital of Flopital. However, before she is able to treat the wounded in the castle, Kuwagon signals the arrival of a newcomer. The silver and gold God Kabuto, who fires upon the King-Ohgers. Yanma, Himeno, and Gira are swept away by Kuwagon's rescue, and God Kabuto pursues them...
So the story goes! Anyways, let's get back to that now, Spoilers, I guess~!
-Oh fuck, he's one of the big boys.
-Wow, that reformation was
-Instant, holy crap.
-Aaaaaaand, they're down! Booooosh!
-Oooooh
-There he is, Kaguragi the bee man.
-His facial expressions are equal parts hiliarious and terrifying.
-Since female bees of all are the ones with stingers, this implies to me that he has T-masc swag, so I think I'm incorporating that into my headcanon. Entirely independently, mind you.
-Anyhoo, I'm now listening to Zenryoku King for the tenth time today.
-Aaaaah~!
-What a lovely place, Toufu is.
-I love seeing Toei go through all these typical high fantasy JRPG settings, it gives me joy.
-I think the one recurring bit they don't do is try to claim the whole setting as just one continent.
-I've gotta ask, does Sebastian get paid? Y'know, a lot?
-I suppose Himeno skipped her bible study. ...can't say I blame her, tbh.
-Girl really said "I'm taking God for my collection."
-I just noticed this, but Yanma's headphones apparently aren't cat-ear ones.
-Ooooooh, remaking the divine in the form of modern industry. That's very thaumatech-y. Like Radiant Historia or uh... Fantasian, I've never played that one.
-Oooooh, grasshopper? I mean, of course there'd be one.
-...Ooooooh, what if there's a moth like Inazuman?
-Racles fucking cheated to wake it up somehow, didn't he?
-Oh okay, just leave Yanma there. Okay.
-Oh fuck, I didn't notice! Where is Gira?
-Good morning!
-Okay, goodbye... Kabutan!
-Kaguragi Jumpscare.
-"You..."
-I absolutely love So Kaku's voice.
-"Hail to the king, dude!"
-Kuroko! ...Oh wait, no, I'm not supposed to take note of you, uhhh...
-Daaaaamn, Kaguragi! You sure have a lot of... wheat!
-"Turning yourself in? Seems like kind of a bitch move."
-Oooooh, oooooh, ooooooh!
-"You! Are a very brave and wonderful man, tyrant boy!"
Gira: ...so like, do you have issues with Racules or- Kaguragi: He is nothing BUT an issue! He works his people to death, attempted to wrest control of my nation's god, withholds his industrial innovations from my subjects... He even made fun of my ponytail by calling it a manbun, even though they're TOTALLY different!
-Ooooooh, funky!
-What a lively place.
-Must be nice to have.
-...wait, so there's more grain in Toufu than anywhere else in the world? ...guess the scale's a lot smaller than I thought.
-"This radish is is covered in dirt and bugs... my favorite~!"
-Wash your veggies before you eat 'em.
-There's God Hachi up there.
-Working hard to claim the fruits of thy labor! That is the Land of Toufu!
-"Sir Gira! ...let your best buddy in the whole wide world Lord Kaguragi handle this!"
-Alright, time to get it!
-Bonk!
-Man, I am just digging this soundtrack.
-Ohger Finish~!
-Aaaaand we've officially given up!
-"Could you like... give us time?"
-Well, he's given up.
-He has far too much drip to care what Racules thinks, Yanma.
-Guess the Shugoddamites still believe in their asshole king.
-...man, I miss Toufu's air already.
-"Shhh, shhh. There's the peasant Gira likes. ...Yeeeees, I look forward to seeing him prostrated before me."
-The Judge.
-There's Rita. There they be.
-"Well, that bitchass loser Racules doesn't wanna help me... which is why I must ask that you provide your aid!"
-"FOOOOOOD!"
-"Yanma, you fucker, keep your gross chopsticks out of the pot!"
-God this is so funny.
-The top of Tikyu's pecking order!
-"Pwease do it for our children!"
-Well, Gira's caught on.
-Slack jawed tanuki... Hey man, Keiwa'd be carrying you guys! ...more literally than anything, but.
-I love you Kaguragi.
-Here they come. The Bugnarak. In the quarry~!
-Fuck you, Dezzy.
-Tomato~!
-"Time for a bit of pesticide!"
-Hatch It!
-Ohgai Busou!
-Hachi Ohger!
-Yoooooooooo!
-Whoa, he's flexible!
-How bold of him.
-Bees. My God.
-This is amazing.
-Shugod Jumpscare.
-Using the lady as bait, smh Yanma
-Oh shit, there he is!
-"...That's not Racules."
-Kaguragi Dybowski. He cheated us all.
-God, this is epic.
-Well, he is giving Gira what he demanded at the start of the episode.
-"You little bitch!"
-Well, Gira sure was quick to forgive.
-Bug Kiss
-Good morning, Kabutan!
-Together!
-King-Ohger, come forth!
-I guess God Hachi picked up Kaguragi during that transition.
-God Papillon. Where's your Chief Justice, eh?
-King, King! King Ohger!
-Man, this dynamic's gonna be the best thing ever once Rita jumps in.
-Thank you, God Hachi.
-Ahhh, the old "attack the parts not covered by the shell" tutorial boss.
-Blown off the mountain.
-Bee Man did it.
-"Apology not accepted. Time to die, Bee Boy!"
-"No dying today."
-Man, Himeno really was about to relieve him of his head. She really is a mantis lady!
-Kaguragi has joined the party!
-"Hohohoho! Leave the scheming to the professionals, hmm? As for you, Sir Gira..."
-Oh wow, he sold them right out!
-Rita Time.
-Goddamn, they're on point.
-"Treachery, assault, attempted regicide, illegal trespassing, obstruction of justice, unlawful consumption of food... swagless behavior. By the power vested in me as Chief Justice of the International Court and Sovereign of Gokkan, I place you under arrest."
-Ohhhhh I've been waiting anxiously to see you, Your Honor.
