I’m sitting in the office sipping coffee trying not to fall asleep at my desk after sleeping like 2 hours last night sometime between 2:00 am and 4:30 am (that is when I checked my phone last before I fell asleep and first after I woke up), since I spent most of the time crying over
the heartbreak I just caused myself when we don’t get queer Roy - like, even if they adress his anger management issues in some other way and don’t completely ruin him as a character, my queer heart now is too invested in my theory
The implications if I’m actually right. Like, how the hug in "Man City" was probably the first time Roy allowed himself to gently touch and hold another man. How that would have deeply affected him. How it would make so much sense for him to get even more bottled up and angry because of denial. And that this is the reason he is so notably off since then. Like, now Roy is Blorbo and poor little meow meow. Also, the beauty of the show actually straightbaiting its audience for two seasons, just sprinkling in enough subtext for people to notice? If I hadn’t been so cynical after being burned too often in the past, I wouldn’t have thought “ah, this is so subversive to give straight alpha males so many queercoded traits” instead of “they are really, actually setting this up, aren’t they? Phil and Brett aren’t queerbaiting and trolling but preparing the oblivious part of the audience, so that they can go ‘What, you are surprised? But we told you so in interviews and on social media explicitely and repeatedly for YEARS.’”
If they don’t go for Jamie x Keeley x Roy endgame (or rather Keeley x Jamie x Roy, since he is the one who glues them together), then I’ve effectively broken my heart, since then I get EITHER the ship I loved dearly from the first time they interacted, that they took from me once before, but I never gave up on (Jamie x Keeley) OR the possibly most impactful queer love story I could have ever dreamt of becoming canon on a mainstream tv show (Jamie x Roy). Like, that is Catradora level childhood-crush-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers and the sheer heartbreak of either Roy or Jamie being “He doesn’t want me. Not like I want him” made me cry on public transportation. (If they have the audacity to end this with Roy x Keeley I will burn something down - if I can't have both I want to have at least one)
P.S.: If you’ve sent me an ask or a dm, I haven’t forgotten you, I just fell so deep into the meta writing hole over the weekend and … I’m old, I need to catch up on sleep and will answer tomorrow.

Hi Sparrow,
So a couple weeks ago I saw a pinterest post comparing Karin and Sakrua. For the most part Sakura was the happy one and having everything she ever wanted. A happy childhood, having people with her, being loved, getting the guy she wanted, you name it. But in the comments there were people saying that Sakura was a brat (because she is), and basically hating on her. And then someone had the audacity to say that "She's been through a lot don't hate on her!" (how I saw it). I was like huh? What the heck did she ever go through that was as horrible and painful as countless numbers of characters, Karin included. She never lost anybody, did she? She was accepted and loved. What did she go through that was so bad to say that she went through 'a lot'? Was it because she was bullied for having a massive forehead? I know that bullying isn't fun but come on!! Being bullied is 20 times better than watching your comrades and family being killed right before your eyes and being forced to watch. Being bullied is a lot better than being a complete outcast of society and being hated by everyone. Being bullied is a lot better than seeing the person you love so dearly being killed. Being bullied is a lot better than being abused and losing the only person you had. What kind of pain did she go through that was as bad as all those? And anyway, Ino helped her get through her insecurity. Her parents dis motivating her isn't cool I know, but at the same time they still loved and cared for her. She had EVERYTHING that Karin didn't have. Or she went through a lot because her Sasuke-kun didn't acknowledge her?
And I saw a post on Quora (SS stan). The first thing that I saw was that the person stated that 'Sasuke had c- ptsd and nEeDed SomEoNe tO lOve aNd aCcEpT hIM' My first thought was "Well what about Naruto? He accepted Sasuke didn't he? Wasn't Naruto ultra desperate to bring him back?" The funny thing is Naruto literally said that HE can be the one that SASUKE can COME HOME TO!!!! (idk if it was filler or if it's canon) And later on started posting the same manga panels of the Chunin Exam. And on one of them Sakura is doing that lover hand thing, and added another panel of Sakura hugging 'Sasuke-kun' before he went on a complete rampage and said that "ShE cAlMeD hiM DoWn." And that one time Sasuke held Sakura like a princess and set her down before she hit the ground. I mean, not that Karin is relevant in the Quora thing but... There was that time where Sasuke HUGGED her (it seemed that way at least) while saving her before she fell. Sakura-chan isn't so special, eh? He also saved Naruto not the way he did for Sakura or Karin but he saved him.
Anyway, I went overboard. I didn't mean the rant sorry!!!! but please tell what you think- thankies!!!
Yeah, Sakura suffered too much pain... Like Crying for no reason is what she did all throughout the series and that's what her fans are rabidly arguing about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here Sakura was shown to be crying rivers in her room... Alone. So, they headcanon that 'A Poor Girl is crying daily while passionately thinking about her loved one'....
WooW!!! What a suffering. Even I could do it. But my mom would slap and shut me off if I cry like Sakura in order to get what I want.
Such a Tear Wiping assholes.
'Sasuke has C-PTSD and needed someone to Love and Accept him' is one of the lamest argument I've heard in this Fandom.
I don't understand why Sasuke was being reduced to Poor Little Meow Meow when it comes to Shipping and use PTSD as a card to argue that he needed Love???
In NaruSaku fandom, 'Naruto is severely suffering from PTSD. All he needed was love... He loved Sakura and he couldn't realize it in the end'
Blehhh😑😑
In ThathuThaku Fandom, 'Sasuke needed Love and Sakura was readily waiting for him to give a Family.. but he couldn't realize it because of his Trauma'.
Puke🤢🤢
I talked about Sasuke's PTSD here... Not at all Sorry for being Insensitive or my inability to indulge in Fandom's Headcanon or Theories or Assumption... But In this Entire Series, Tsunade was the only one to have explicitly shown to have PTSD, that could affect the plot in a way which led to her Character Transformation.
Tumblr media
Tsunade was suffering from Hemophobia because of carrying the blood of her loved one on her hands which led to her becoming Immobile in dangerous situations. So, Kabuto started to beat her mercilessly using her Phobia against her. But after seeing Naruto desperately trying again and again to fight Kabuto, She finally collected her mental strength to overcome her Trauma and started to kick Oro like a football.
I know, the PTSD of Tsunade wasn't handled properly. But Hey, we can't be expecting a Therapist to cure this PTSD in an organic manner in narutoverse just like we have in out Real Life.
If Sasuke were shown to be like Tsunade or atleast hinted to have some fear, then I would've gladly agreed that claim. Okay, let me be generous, and agree to that fact that Sasuke was severely suffering from PTSD to the point he can’t even breath properly.
So what???
Does it means that Sasuke desperately needed Loooovvve from everyone??? No. He was suffering after the Massacre. Yes. And as a natural response, Sasuke was unknowingly looking for Happiness... And he actually got it.
Tumblr media
But he never allowed himself to prolong that happiness. Slowly but surely Sasuke was healing on his own and by the time, the series had started, Sasuke was behaving like a normal kid as compared to Gaara at the same age. It’s not like Sasuke was asking for Love from everyone... He found happiness by himself. Sakura doesn’t have to provide him.
So, this Sakura’s suffering for Sasuke and Sasuke’s suffering needs Sakura’s Love is all just some poor Head canons.... whereas in Canon, these claims has nothing to back them up.

Ted Spankoffski x Reader
a gender neutral, self insert-ish fluff; a bit of a crack fic
warnings: cursing, more well rested but still very dyslectic author
Missing work was not something (Y/n) did often and some of their coworkers began to worry a bit. Soon however, Melissa stopped by their floor to inform that they needed a free day to ‘sort some stuff out’ and that they were going to return to work the next day so there was no need to worry. No one was very interested in any further information and so the day went on.
Around his lunch break, however, Ted decided to call them to check on them. It was something they did often when he was gone, a nice routine he’d grown to enjoy. He wasn’t all that eager to do so, it wasn’t his thing, but he was quite bored and didn’t really have anyone to talk to or grab a lunch with so he decided to return the favour. He felt kind of weird about it but reminded himself that it’s completely normal now that they are ‘sort of seeing each other’.
Not long after he pressed the telephone icon on his screen (Y/n) picked up.
“Hey, what’s up?” they asked not really expecting to be called by Ted of all people “Is something wrong?”
“Why aren’t you at work?”
“Oh, that! I’m having” they must have put down the phone for a moment as Ted heard a few muffled sounds on their end before the sound came back clear “a bit of an emmergency here. Nothing bad I swear! It’s just,, remember when I showed you that cat i found recently?”
How could Ted forget? Patas was to (Y/n) like a child and they loved him dearly but it was certainly not the case for Ted. The thing was huge and loud, with a clear dislike for the man. The first (and only so far) time when Ted was spending the night he found his shoes soaked in cat piss and Patas the cat looking at him with those malicious yellow eyes. So it was safe to say the resentment was pretty mutual hence Ted’s response:
“Yeah, that fuckin’ cat” the clear dislike in his voice made (Y/n) giggle “what’s with him?”
“It’s our first spring together and I’m having a bit of a problem here making him leave Poppy alone” they chuckled.
Poppy was their cousin’s cat, Ted was pretty sure they told him something about taking her in for a few days. Finally it clicked.
“You really missed work to cockblock your cat?” he asked a bit too loudly and very amused making Sylvia, who just entered his office holding the doorknob by a tissue, sigh deeply. But Ted didn’t care. All he knew was that he needed to see that.
(Y/n) answered the door letting Ted in, holding a small cat he had never seen before. He went over to their place as soon as work ended, a bit motivated by the scene he’d see there but mostly by the perspective of possibly getting to stay over again.
“You’re really that curious, huh?” they watched as Ted took off his shoes and hung them up on the hanger before turning back to them.
“I just want to see him suffer” he responded looking around their small flat. And there he was, a big black and white cat with his eyes glued to the small thing in (Y/n) arms. As they sat on the couch Poppy wiggled her way out from (Y/n) light embrace sitting by her feet. Next thing they knew a big shape dashed across the room.
“dON’T YOU EVEN DARE!” (Y/n) sprung to their feet pointing their finger at the cat who, holding eye contact, took a few steps in their direction before lamenting loudly.
Ted had way too much fun watching the battle (Y/n) had with their pupil, observing very amused as his tired partner chased their cats around the main and only room of the apartment.
“Come on, (Y/n)” as time passed he started to sympathise with the cat a bit “can’t you just let him have fun?”
“I really don’t have the energy to explain why making my cousin deal with kittens she did not want is a bad idea” they sighed drinking their coffee and moving Patas away with one foot from the counter where the other cat sat.
“Maybe he’ll pull out on time! Right?” the cat meowed loudly as if in agreement, making (Y/n) chuckle at their solidarity.
Checking their phone, clearly waiting for a text they set down the empty cup positioning themselves between the cat and the counter where Poppy slept, so that they could also face Ted. He was still on the couch, smoking, since (Y/n) didn’t really mind it.
“Ted, that’s not how cats work...” to be honest they also found the situation to be quite amusing considering that their partner had a known dislike towards their ‘furry child’ as they called their cat.
“Look” he started, speaking with his hands, waving the cigarette around. (Y/n) noticed he did that a lot “If it were me I’d go nuts! Lock him in the bathroom at least, why torture the poor guy and show him what he can’t have?”
“Ted, he’s a cat” they let out a little laugh shaking their head at his antics “And besides I had that idea this morning. But I just couldn't do that to him, you know? And even when I tried he yelled so much I was scared my neighbours would think I'm torturing someone in here”
They held Patas in their arms, rocking him like a big, very horny baby, completely ignoring the hypocrisy of them of all people, reminding Ted that it was just a cat.
“So you’re going to use all your sick days on this or?” he said putting the cigarette butt in the ashtray nearby.
“Of course not! It's only for today” they responded making Ted a bit less worried for their sanity (which, again was pretty hypocritical for someone who tried to play a wingman for a cat) “plus I already set him up for neutering this evening”
Ted's head snapped towards them momentarily as he gave his partner the most offended look they’ve ever seen him have.
“Jesus Christ leave his balls alone!”

Sander Sides Coffeeshop AU! Part 2
Well I didn’t expect part one to get that much attention..
Thank you all :) Trigger warning : Hum, alcohol ? I guess ? tell me if I have to put something in there !
The first one was originally just a simple shitpost, but seeing this positivity encouraged me to write more ! So have that ! Oh and, use this song for a certain part of the chapter. Enjoy~
------------------------------------------------------
Damn was this a tiring day for the owner. Logan closed the cafe’s door after the last customer, not even turning the key, before dropping down on one of the angle sofas, sighing loudly. He lifted his rectangle glasses, pinching the bridge of his nose. He was tired, but now wasn’t the time to sleep.
The cafe, as much as he loved it, wasn’t enough income to maintain a stable life. He wasn’t in debt, lord knows how much he hated seeking help from others. “I always counted on myself, why change now ?”. The day was not the only time he was behind a counter. After closing his eyes for a few seconds, he stood up and went to look in his bag and looked at the hour on his phone. Eleven twenty four pm. It started at one am. He had enough time to freshen up. And so he went out, his blazer on his shoulder walking under the moonlight after putting the key in his pocket.
Home sweet and dearly home. It wasn’t much, just a simple black and white apartment with hints of deep navy blue. Hanging his blazer on the hook present on the back of his door. A soft creature came, rubbing against his legs, calmly purring.
-Well hello Plato..
The cat answered with a soft meow as Logan gently patted his fluffy cream fur which composed the majority of his body. The face, tip of the tail and paws being darker, almost black, but the cherry on top was the two icey sapphires eyes, as cold as his master’s. Only the hue was different, Lo’ having more greyish eyes. Speaking of the devil, he walked up to the living room connected kitchen, taking out a can of cat food to pour it into one of his little fuff ball’s bowl then filling the second one with water.
-There you go, you cuddle head.
Question remained, why would someone who struggled with money have a pet ?
Logan was always in control, trying his best to think about the most logical and brainey solution to a problem or way to improve his life, but even he could not just walk away from a crying kitten under the rain. He remembered the day. He was still a college student, his life was a wreck, a twelve sided Rubik’s cube with the colors constantly changing every single time he moved them. It was the same period he decided to close himself off and focus on school work but even he couldn't stay unmoved by a crying dirty kitten under the rain.
He smiled thinking about it again, all the nights worrying about Plato, putting him in his sweater while he was studying just to keep him by his side, all the books he read to learn how to properly take care of a cat, all the scratches he got, but also all the kisses and head rubs. Logan absentmindedly looked at the clock. Almost midnight.
-Shit.
Who thought he could lose himself thinking about how much he loved his companion ? Now he had to be fast. He’d usually take the time to enjoy the warm water on his skin, usually hugging himself in the process, trying to emulate the feeling of a long lost embrace, but now it was pretty late. He needed to go. Where ? Well his side job. Logan quickly dried his dark chestnut hair before putting on an elegant uniform. A white shirt buttoned to the top under a navy vest and a pair of jeans. Simple but efficient. Just like he always did.
The dark haired man arrived in front of a bar’s backdoor. Just on time after a really painful sprint considering he wasn’t the athletic type. He entered and went to the changing rooms, just to put down his bag and finally go to work. That was the program, but apparently the strawberry blonde seemingly pissed man bursting in. Only a thought crossed Logan’s mind “Oh for fuck’s sake.”.
-Oh my god Lo’ you’re here i thought i’d never see the light of day !
-..Pretty normal considering it’s past one am. -Now calm down. i’ll make you a quick drink and look for your gloves, your makeup is perfect. Just go sit down.
He walked towards him clutching his arms, the barista cringed at the contact but kept a straight face before finally realising that his friend was in a long cherry red all sparkly dress and same colored heels.
-You got a representation tonight Roman ?
-Yes and it’s an ever-loving catastrophe ! I can’t close this fucking -but amazing- dress by myself, i don’t know where my gloves are and i start in five minutes ! Jesus, am i sweating ? Am i sweaty ? Is my makeup dripping ?
The usual scenario, Logan sighed before kindly pushing his friend away and turning him to, first of all, close the dress, having to stand on his tiptoes to reach the end. Roman was already a bit taller than him, but with those heels, phew, how could he even walk in these ?
Such a drama queen. Literally and mockingly. He tapped the performer on the back before straight up going to his dressing room, the gloves were just here, sitting on the edge of the mirror. Pretty sure Roman missed them because of his stress. He then went to the bar, discreetly pouring him a bottom of whisky and coming back with the two items. Blondie jumped on his heels to hug him again, making his poor friend spread his arms to avoid damaging the gloves or spilling the drink before giving them after the embrace.
-You are a lifesaver you nerdy coffee man !
-Don’t mention it. I have to get working, good luck.
Finally. Putting on a black apron, he came behind the bar and started serving the clients. Tonight was going to be busy. Why ? Well, Roman was performing, his angelic sultry voice brought everyone in. The lights dimmed in the club, only the stage was illuminated. The singer walked in, projectors reflecting against his strass covered dress and gloves. Claps and whistles welcomed his grand entrance as he took the microphone, glazing over the room. Logan gave him a nod and a thumbs up to encourage him. The instrumental started to play.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LqbV36OhtQ&ab_channel=CalebHyles
Where have you been? Been searching all along Came facing twilight on and on Without a clueWithout a sign Without grasping yet The real question to be asked Where have I been?
The tone always sent chills down Logan’s spine. He often heard him sing, but he could never not be surprised by his talent. He forgot himself, slowly breathing, calmed by the jazzy tone of the song. Forgot himself so much that he didn’t notice the new customer sitting at the bar and calling him for the last few seconds. The barista shook his head and turned, starting his usual pitch… -Sorry for that. What can i… ...only to be met with the amber gaze of a familiar face. The man of this morning. What was his name again ? Janice ? Janelle ? Jamil ? Logan’s eyes became cold and stern again, along with his voice. -..serve you. -Looks like i was right. You’re not as boring as you seem to be. -Do you want to drink something ? I have other clients. The man in the melon hat turned his head left and right with a smirk. He was the only one sitting at the counter. -A Snakebite, if you know how to make it right. Logan raised a surprised eyebrow. It was literally two ingredients. He was clearly mocking him. Without a word, he took the honey flavored whiskey and lime juice and put them in the shaker with some ice before energetically, well, shaking it and straining it in a shot glass, putting it in front of the snide individual then turning back to look at his friend. -Delightfull isn’t it ? I’ve rarely heard such a sultry and heavenly voice at the same time. -Well, it is Roman. They looked at each other for less than half a second before having their attention taken by the singer. Roman got compliments and flowers thrown at him at the end of his performance, and after some quick talk with fans, he sat down at the bar, sighing happily. -Damn that felt good ! Sooooo~, how are my two favorite boys doing ? Logan seemed surprised and pointed the curious man.
-You know him ?! -Yeah of course you dummy dumb ! I was the one who gave him your cafe’s address ! Ain’t he the loveliest ? -My my, thank you Romie, you’re going to make me blush. His eyes were still on Logan, still mocking him, he could have sworn even seeing this snake of a man quickly stick out his tongue to taunt him. Well. Looks like this was going to be a long night.
--------------------------------------------------------------- Surprise surprise ! You probably realized by now that I was really inspired by the talented Caleb Hyles with his “Beneath the mask” cover for this song. I just love the atmosphere. Hope you lovelies enjoyed this piece of writing !

Chapter 27 - SBT
Here it is!
"Your performance tonight was absolutely baffling, Lulu!"
The Frenchman raised his eyes from his glass of wine to the criminal facing him, the reason why that whole song had made sense; namely, Arthur Duchemin.
"Many thanks."
"You have talent for this and much more than the younger generation and their nonsensical noise they dare call music."
Lucien was still in the emotion of the song he had just sung, a bit like when you watch a movie and the taste of it lingers on even after it ends. He had sung his heart and soul out to an audience that couldn't possibly imagine what it had meant for him.
He had sung about the solitude that Duchemin had forced him into for years, and this feeling of his body being an empty shell. He was missing his half, or maybe his three-quarters. He had been missing the presence of someone who could make him feel. Feel what? Anything, absolutely anything besides rage, frustration and distress. He didn't know what it felt anymore to have someone's eyes on him with that special flame, that unique spark that made him look handsome when he only saw himself old and grey.
Duchemin had applauded him and asked for him to enjoy his dinner in his company.
"So, what will you have? I tried the beef stew last time and it was quite the surprise, a good one." The calm devil said.
Lucien couldn't eat. Not only was Duchemin going to pay for his food, which was an idea he could not stand, but the song had emptied him. He needed warmth. He needed something to replenish his emotional and social energy. He raised his eyes off the menu and thought to himself. Non. He would not eat a thing. Duchemin can keep his blood covered money; money he got from killing people, from stealing people away from Lucien. Non, it disgusted him.
"If you'll excuse me, tonight's show has emptied me of my energy. I shall take my leave." The spy politely said as he folded the menu shut and put it back on the table.
"Oh, but of course, I understand. Pray do take some well earned rest. And I hope to see more of these performances in the future."
"I will make sure you do, many thanks and have a good evening."
Lucien took his leave and headed straight back home on his black, slim motorcycle. When he reached his door on the fifth floor of the hotel, he saw another tupperware box waiting for him. He picked it up from the floor and unlocked his door. As soon as he pushed it open-
"Meow!"
The little ball of white fluff jumped on his ankle and climbed all along his body to reach his shoulder.
"Oh… Mon bébé…"
[Oh… My baby…]
Lucien took Perle in his gloved hands and hugged her dearly.
"Laisse-moi juste prendre une douche et je suis à toi, d'accord?"
[Let me just take a shower and I will be all yours, agreed?]
She purred and mewled, delighted that her master had come back home. Lucien did what he said and a few moments later, he was in his bed, laying on his back with little Perle on his chest.
"Meow?"
He was petting her, letting his fingers run through her fur.
"Oui, maintenant ça va."
[Yes, now I am alright.]
"Meow?"
She rolled herself in a little ball before laying down on Lucien's chest, raising and falling to the rhythm of his breath.
"C'est la chanson que j'ai chantée aujourd'hui."
[It's the song I sang today.]
He admitted as he sighed. Perle listened to him vent while purring under his naked fingers.
"Perle?"
"Meow?"
"Promets-moi de rester avec moi, s'il te plaît. Ne m'abandonne pas."
[Promise me to stay with me, please. Don't ever abandon me.]
He raised her to his lips and kissed her.
"Meow." She promised.
"Je ne suis pas un homme bon, je ne sais pas élever un enfant seul. Mais je n'en peux plus de rester seul. Depuis que tu es rentré dans ma vie, je… Je me sens tellement mieux. J'ai quelqu'un qui m'attend quand je rentre à la maison, quelqu'un qui certes, peut me mordre de temps à autres mais quelqu'un qui m'aime bien, je crois."
[I am not a good man, and I don't know how to raise a child on my own. But I cannot stand to stay alone anymore. Since you have come into my life, I… I feel much better. I have someone to come back to when I come back home. Yes, it is someone who bites me from time to time, but it is someone who likes me, I believe."
Perle brushed her head on his mouth repeatedly as she mewled her comfort and support to Lucien. As much as he promised that he wouldn't abandon her, she wouldn't abandon him. Non, he was her everything, her father, her mother and her protector. She loved him.
On his side, Lucien started to think that he perhaps should have got a pet earlier. Maybe that would have helped although in truth, he still felt empty inside. Perle's purrs and fluff didn't do everything. Sometimes and paradoxically enough, it even made him feel worse. The moments where he was raising her, where he was explaining the world around her to her big blue eyes, those were hard moments. It reminded him of his short time as a father, too short.
"Meow?"
"Oui, j'ai eu un bébé avant toi."
[Yes, I have had a baby before you.]
Lucien stared at the ceiling.
"Meow?"
"Non, pas un chaton. Un bébé - mon bébé, ma chair et mon sang. C'était un petit garçon."
[No, not a kitten. A baby - my baby, my own flesh and blood. It was a little boy.]
Perle purred louder and louder, her whole little body was trembling.
"Cela fait dix ans que je ne l'ai pas vu, que je ne peux pas le voir. Il avait une dizaine d'année quand je l'ai vu pour la dernière fois, lui et sa mère."
[It has been ten years that I haven't seen him, that I couldn't see him. He was ten years old when I saw him last, him and his mother.]
Perle listened as she nibbled on Lucien's index finger.
"Meow."
He smiled.
"Oui, maintenant je t'ai toi. Tu es tout ce qui me reste."
[Yes, now I have you. You are all I have left.]
Lucien sat up against the wall on his bed and hugged his furry companion.
"Meow…"
She seemed to say that he was exactly that for her too. If not for him, she would have died of fear, cold and malnutrition in the dirty streets of this Australian town. Lucien held the little cat to his lips. He whispered through her fur.
"Je te quitterai pas. Je ne t'abandonnerai pas. J'ai déjà perdu un enfant et c'est plus ce que je ne peux supporter. Non, mon bébé, quand j'en aurai fini avec Duchemin, on s'en ira, toi et moi, quelque part de calme, de tranquille, loin de tout. Ça te va?"
[I won't leave you. I won't abandon you. I have already lost a child and it is more than what I can bear. No, my baby, when I am done with Duchemin, we will leave, you and me, somewhere calm, far from everything. Would you agree to that?]
And of course Perle agreed in mewls and in purs. The poor baby couldn't dream of a better life, just her, and her human father.
On these thoughts, Lucien sank back to lie on his bed, Perle curled on his pillow, right next to his face. He whispered soft stories to put her to sleep and ended up falling in Morpheus's arms first, his senses dulled by her purrs.
"Dad? You're home? Oh!"
Lucien smiled. He had come home a bit early that day and wanted to surprise his son. As the boy opened the door, he saw his father on his armchair, reading a magazine.
"Oui, mon fils."
[Yes, son.]
The little blond boy with buck teeth ran to his father, letting his backpack drop to the floor and crashed on his father's legs. Lucien crouched down to be at eye-level with his little boy and hugged him dearly.
"Oh, what is this plaster, Jérémy? Don't tell me you got in a fight again…" Lucien put his index on his son's cheek. Jérémy lowered his head.
"But they were saying bad things about you and Ma'..." The young boy said, his head lowered still.
"I told you." Lucien put his hand on his son's shoulder. "Your classmates will not stop until you show them that you don't care about what they say. As long as they get a reaction off of you, they will continue."
"Your dad is right, Jay." Jérémy's mother entered the house and shut the door after her son and herself. "You should try his advice, sweetie."
"But it's hard!" The young boy protested.
"Nothing comes easy, mon petit." Lucien gave a kiss on his son's brow. "Now, come, would you like something to eat perhaps?"
[My little one]
Both men went to the kitchen hand in hand, under the lady's kind eyes.
"Dad, can you make me one of your omelettes for dinner tonight?"
Lucien carried his son and put him on the kitchen top.
"I think your mother has already prepared something for tonight, and I'm told it might be your favourite too."
"Really?" Little Jérémy's eyes shone brighter. They were blue, like both his parents, but not as light as his father.
"Hm-mh. But I will try to negotiate with her if you are really hungry, I can make a small one that we share, what do you say, hm?" Lucien extended his hand flat, palm up, and Jérémy slapped it.
"Yeah!"
"Right, you don't move from here, d'accord?"
[Alright?]
"Lucien?"
The Frenchman turned and his beautiful lady was there, by his side as he was sitting on the armchair.
"Oui?"
"D'you need anythin' darling? I'm out shopping."
"Non, nothing, mon amour."
[My love.]
"You sure?"
"Oh, maybe one thing."
The lady in the blue dress and matching headband looked at him.
"Come back fast for me." He added and she smiled.
"I'll do my best."
She grabbed her purse and went at the foot of the stairs.
"Jay, are you comin' with me, sweetie?"
"Comin', Ma'!"
The little boy came rushing down the stairs. Lucien watched as the young boy put on his jacket before grabbing his mother's hand.
"Aren't you both forgetting something?" Lucien asked from his armchair.
"Oh!" Jérémy let go of his mother's hand and went to kiss his father. His mother came right after and did the same but Lucien took her hand and pulled her in for a longer kiss.
"Ew! Dad!" Jérémy turned his back and winced while his parents' smiles grew wider. They broke the kiss and Lucien patted his son's head as he chuckled.
Mother and son exited the house and the Frenchman went to the window. He pushed the thin curtain aside with the tip of his fingers to see his lovely family on their way to the local supermarket.
But a black 4x4 came at the angle of the street at full speed, taking a turn that was so sudden that it sent it drifting on the asphalt, the rubber of the tyres squeaked.
"NON!"
Lucien saw it all before his eyes. The car drifting slowly as Jérémy and his mother were crossing the street. She scooped their son off the road but the vehicle collided with her and sent both of them flying, only to land metres away from the impact on the opposite side of the road.
The Frenchman ran to the street without his shoes, he sprinted to the end of the road and his fiancée on the pavement, a group of passer-bys had stopped and tried to help her while a police car rushed past, chasing the black 4x4.
"Marie! Mon amour! Jérémy! Call an ambulance!"
[Mary! My love! Jeremy!]
When he reached them, his knees were wobbling and the sight of them both unconscious made him collapse to the ground. He held her against his chest and pulled Jérémy to him. He sobbed and sobbed and when the ambulance finally came, he knew that there was no one to save. He didn't let go of either of them. He barked at the first aiders to leave them alone, he yelled and screamed in the street, like a rabid, helpless dog.
"Mon Dieu!"
"Meow!"
Lucien woke up and sat in a flash. He was sweating and panted to catch his breath. Perle had jumped in fright when he shouted himself out of his sleep.
"Meow?" She mewled and mewled, while he rubbed his eyes and tried to understand where he was, when, and why.
"Mon Dieu…"
[My God…]
He sat up, his back against the wall behind him and Perle climbed on his lap. As he rubbed his eyes, he realised his cheeks were wet. He had cried in his sleep. Again.
"Je pensais que ça s'était arrêté."
[I thought they had stopped.]
"Meow?" Perle asked.
"Les cauchemars."
[The nightmares.]
He answered and looked at the shut curtains in his bedroom. He could see the early morning light filter through the fibres of the fabric.
"Dors, mon bébé. Moi, je vais me lever."
[Sleep, my baby. I will get up.]
Lucien pulled himself out of his bed and went to the bathroom. It was only when he left the carpeted floor of his bedroom and walked on the tiles that he heard the tics of Perle's little claws on the floor. She did follow him.
She looked high up at him. He was a giant next to her, she barely reached his ankle. Lucien crouched down and scooped her off the floor.
"Merci, mon bébé."
[Thank you, my baby.]
He kissed her forehead and dropped her on his shoulder.
-- A few days later --
"Perle, le lait…"
[Perle, the milk…]
He said as he looked at her on the table next to his cup of coffee.
"Meow?"
"Tu t'en es encore mis partout, mon bébé."
[Your lips and cheeks are full of milk, my baby.]
He grabbed a paper tissue and she hissed as usual.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk." He raised his eyebrows and his index finger. "Plus tu te plains, plus ça va durer longtemps."
[The more you complain, the longer it will last.]
"Meow…"
He wiped her face and let her fight with the paper tissue as he watched it all with a smile.
The doorbell rang.
Lucien went to get it.
"Oh, bonjour Bastien."
"Hey, L…" Bastien's eyes went down the mass of white fur climbing Lucien's side from his legs all the way up to his shoulder. "And hello Pearl."
As expected, the kitten hissed.
"I have some news for you, and a good number of letters…"
Lucien's eyes went down to the cardboard box that the young man was carrying.
"They come from the Queen Victoria. The manager had them sent here. Apparently, he didn't know where to put them!"
"Ah, merci." Lucien took the box from him. "Anything else?"
"Uh, just a word from Maurice, he asked me to tell you that you were on the right track."
Lucien half smiled.
"Of course, I am. Thank you Bastien."
"You're welcome. Take care, bye!"
Lucien shut the door and went to the sofa. He opened the cardboard box with his knife and took a peek in.
"Letters…?"
He emptied the box on his lap and put it next to him on the sofa, for Perle's greatest delight…
"What are all these?" He wondered as he flipped the envelopes to try and guess. He finally opened them, one after the other, while Perle found that cardboard box to be her second favourite place to be in, after Lucien's palms.
"Mon Dieu…"
As Lucien's eyes scanned the letters, he realised they were all from people who had come to the shows and enjoyed them. It was all from admirers. The more he read, the bigger his smile got on his face. Those letters were like Christmas for his ego!
Unsurprisingly all of them were written by women, and Lucien could smell their perfumes directly on the paper. He read them diagonally, their handwriting was smooth and round until one letter that did stand out.
The paper was cheap and it had been written with a biro, not a fountain pen. The handwriting wasn't smooth, words were crossed out on each line, showing the indecision, maybe the nervousness of the author. Lucien took the paper to his nose and smelt it. Coffee, cheap cigarettes. Oui, a man wrote that.
"Hello,
I am not used to writing to singers but I want to let you know that your last song did something to me. For a moment, I believed that I am not the only one suffering from my loneliness. I had the illusion that the misery I've lived through for the past ten years or so wasn't only my burden to carry. You made me believe that at least you too have lived something similar. Thank you for singing about solitude in a very raw and honest way, for putting words on things that I knew I felt, but did not know how to describe. And if it was only a show, if you haven't lived what you described, then you did an awfully good job at making me believe that you did. If it was all for show, then please understand that you're one hell of a lucky bastard."
Lucien's eyebrows jumped. Well, that is a way to end a letter…! His eyes when to the signature:
"M."

Kitties Afoot
At some point, this started a discussion about Murderbot in the present as a cat. It has since become something else entirely, and I don’t regret a thing. So, I guess, stary kitty meets almost-stray human.
There’s more written, but I haven’t edited the rest and I’m not sure I trust Tumblr with anything longer.
I came home to find a giant, scrawny feline curled up on my front porch. The black and gray creature lay on top of the welcome mat with its paws tucked under its shivering body. It looked huge for a cat but not big enough for a mountain lion, and it didn’t look like a kitten. The strange animal was malnourished; as I approached, I could count the poor baby’s ribs with each shuddering breath it took.
“Shit,” I whispered and checked my phone.
It was well into the evening and getting colder outside with each passing moment. The kitty looked up when I got to my front steps. Bright blue eyes stared at me as the creature scrunched up, making itself as small as possible.
“Hey, it’s all right,” I said as soothingly as I could. “I won’t hurt you. Let me get you inside before the weather turns nasty.”
Not that I thought the cat would understand me, but I was used to talking to animals. Before Tasha had passed away earlier that year, I had always had pets at home. I’d spoken to the family dog as a child and to my ex-boyfriend’s two ferrets. And, of course, Tasha the Princess never shut up. Most days, I still woke up expecting to find her dozing on my head.
I set my backpack on the ground, slipped out of my sweater, and wrapped the warm clothing around the shivering kitty. It tried to claw me through the thick fabric but didn’t get very far, though I caught a good look at its sharp talons. I held it in my arms and did my best to navigate the front door. The cat must’ve weighed twenty pounds, but it was probably all muscle and grump.
Inside, I set it down on a folded blanket on the couch and went looking for a heating pad. September was a little early to be getting out the winter stuff. Still, the kitty wouldn’t stop shivering, and I wanted to warm it up as quickly as possible.
The furball stayed put and watched me from its new comfortable perch. Its sleek fur was pitch black, the color of raven wings, but its paws were gray, as was its stomach. I couldn’t tell if the cat was male or female, and I wasn’t going to peek between its legs to find out.
Once I had the heating pad in place, I put a couple of Tasha’s bowls on the coffee table and scooted the table right up to the couch. From here, the kitty had to only shift its weight to reach the water and wet cat food. Everything about the situation was weird, from the cat’s knowing glances to the constant reminders that Tasha was gone.
I scrolled through my contacts and found the phone number of a family veterinarian. It was too late to call Dr. Hopkins now, but I sent him a quick message and asked for an urgent appointment. If the kitty survived the night, and I had a sneaking suspicion the grumpy monster wasn’t going down without a fight, it would need medical attention.
The cat shifted restlessly on its pile of blankets, so I turned on the television. Tasha had loved those stupidly endless videos on YouTube where the camera was trained on a tree stump where birds came to feed. This cast couldn’t care less. It didn’t even notice the TV until I turned on a food documentary episode on Netflix.
I went to make myself a snack in the kitchen and noticed the cat half watching me and half paying attention to whatever it saw on the television. Like I said, weird cat.
My home is tiny, a two-story townhome with an unfinished basement that occasionally floods. I’d gotten lucky with the place; I’d been sharing it with a roommate who suddenly had to move cross-country, and she paid for her share of the mortgage for three months. And then I’d found a decent manager job at a local cafe that let me keep the place.
I hummed while puttering around the kitchen. It was too late for a proper dinner, and I wasn’t hungry anyway. And I couldn’t drink coffee that late in the evening, not if I planned to get any sleep. The kitty drank some water from the closest bowl and then closed its eyes.
Asleep, it could almost pass for a house cat.
Up close, though, there was no mistaking that it was a wild creature. Its ears followed my motions even while it dozed. I turned up the heater for the night and then sat on the other side of the couch, giving the strange feline plenty of space. To my surprise, it stretched out a bit once I was sitting down like it didn’t mind the company so long as said company kept a respectable distance.
***
I don’t remember falling asleep on the couch, but that’s where I woke up the following morning. I sat pressed against one of the couch’s plush arms, legs tucked under me. There was a blanket draped over me that I didn’t remember grabbing. The strange cat lay curled up a few inches from my left foot; I could swear it was purring slightly.
As soon as I moved, uncurling my stiff legs, it got up and jumped off the couch. Standing next to the coffee table, it was apparent just how big it was for a feline. It trotted over to the front door like it owned the place. Standing on its back paws, the cat had no trouble reaching the handle, though it didn’t have the thumbs needed to operate it.
I stood up, followed it, and opened the door for it. “You’re pretty smart for a kitty,” I said as it jumped out onto the front porch. “You gonna be OK, little guy?”
“Meow,” said the cat and vanished into the bushes next to the porch steps.
“Bye, kitty!”
I went back inside but didn’t close the front door. It seemed stupid in retrospect. What kind of person leaves the door open for anyone to stroll inside? But it was Friday and my one day off, so I made coffee in the kitchen and texted with my mother. And maybe hoped that my feline companion might return.
My mother lives halfway across the country in a memory care facility. I can’t say I love my mother — that would be a bald faced lie — but we still text occasionally. I know that my stepfather is taking good care of her, and I love him dearly.
That morning, she was showing off a watercolor painting that she’d created that week. She told me she’d never been to the beach before, and I had to put the phone down for ten minutes before I could answer. Mom and I had vacationed at the beach every year while Dad was still alive. She’d painted a sunset over those turbulent waters.
Sniffling, I cradled my mug and tried not to let the tears fall. I should’ve known better by then, but it still stung every time.
I was still struggling to keep my composure when I heard the sound of claws on the linoleum. Tasha had loathed coming into the kitchen because it wasn’t carpeted, and the drama queen just hadn’t liked the feel of it under her little kitty feet.
Giant Cat had no such compunctions. It stood a few feet out of reach, watching me with those soulful eyes until I had to look away. Sniffling, I rubbed at my face and forced myself to smile.
“Hey there, furball. Back for more food?”
“Meow.”
I opened a can of wet food — if I was going to feed this beast, I would need to get more immediately — and poured the contents into a bowl. After setting the bowl on the floor, I stepped away from it and perched on a counter, watching the cat.
I walked over to the bowl, sniffed at it a few times, and then devoured the food like it was starving. When it was done, it licked its lips and, in one mighty leap, jumped onto the counter. Where it sat down and nuzzled the toaster.
Tasha had never mastered the art of climbing on the furniture. Anything taller than a couch had warranted a loud, obnoxious mew until I came over and picked her up. Not this cat. It seemed perfectly capable of getting up to wherever the fuck it wanted.
“How about a trip to the vet?” I asked. “Just to make you’re not all scratched up inside.”
“Hiss,” said the cat.
I rolled my eyes and giggled. “Not a fan of vets, huh?”
“Hiss.”
“Right.” I finished my coffee in three big gulps. “Of course not. Though, to be honest, I’m not a huge fan of doctors, either.” Mom had seen so many doctors after she’d first gotten sick that I loathed the smell of disinfectant now.
Kitty jumped off the counter after sniffing at the coffee maker and my box of tea samples and went exploring. Like it owned the place, it wandered into the laundry room and then up the stairs into my bedroom. I rinsed out my coffee mug and followed it, curious to see what it might do next.
About half an hour later, the cat decided that it had sniffed at those things it deemed essential and returned to the living room. Hopping onto the couch, it settled on top of the blanket pile and stared between me and the television.
“Seriously?” I asked, choking back laughter.
I’d never heard of a cat that liked watching Netflix. Tasha had mostly enjoyed shows with bird noises or where things moved. Sometimes, the princess would randomly attack the TV like she hoped to catch whatever she was looking at. Meanwhile, this cat meowed at me unhappily when I turned on a bird video and didn’t stop until it saw the Netflix logo. Then, it focused on whatever action flick began playing and snuggled further into the warm blankets.
“Seriously,” I muttered again, quietly, and stood there by the banister, shaking my head.
My weird companion spent the next few hours chilling in front of the TV. Its ears would occasionally perk up when a truck passed by, but mostly it watched the show. Have you ever seen a cat watch television? Because, up until this point, I hadn’t. And I wasn’t sure what to think.
Doing chores proved somewhat tricky when I kept casting furtive glances toward the strange creature. It paid me no heed, but somehow, it seemed to know when I watched it with blatant curiosity. Like, my previous pets had been… pets. This hissy weirdo, meanwhile, was something else entirely.
Eventually, I decided that I needed to get groceries and more cat food, and generally get out of the house for a little while. During a nice, long shower, I convinced myself that I was crazy, and there was nothing weird about the kitty in my living room. Then, I came back downstairs and found the kitty nuzzling the TV remote and decided that I didn’t care.
“Wanna watch something else?” I asked.
The cat looked up at me. “Meow.”
It took me a moment to actually look at the TV and realize that the action movie had ended while I was upstairs. Kitty apparently just wanted something else to start playing. Right. Totally normal right there.
“I need to go out for a while,” I said while scrolling through the Netflix menus. The rest came out before I could think too hard about speaking to a wild animal. “I need to pick up groceries. And cat food. And honestly, I’ve worked twelve-hour shifts for the last week and a half, and I’m ready to see something other than more walls.
“So, let’s get something nice and long started, OK? So you don’t get bored while I’m out. I’m not too keen on leaving the front door open, but the back door’s not locked — I know, I know, bad habit — and you can probably just reach the handle. It’s the pull-down kind.”
“Meow.”
I turned on some kind of drama that promised at least fifteen hours of episodes. “Well, anyway. I’ll be back in a while. Tuna or chicken?”
“Meow meow.”
“Chicken it is.” I was still talking to a cat. Maybe I missed Tasha more than I’d thought. “See you later, kitty.”

~Prom&Noct grow up together au~ after Noctis had been attacked by the daemon and was wheelchair bound, Prompto did absolutely everything he could to help Noct and make sure he didn't fall into depression, he would always bring games or astrology book to Noct, but of course, even though Noct would try smiling because he loves Prom and he's trying so hard he's the bestest friend Noct could wish for, it wasn't enough, but Prompto is not a quitter. especially when Noctis is the reason, he wont fail.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YES, YES, YES!!!!!!!!
This is yet another great story, aaah!! ( ´ ▽ ` )
Like usual, I’ll put a read more in case anyone wants to share or like the story without having to see/reblog my own comments!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
THIS STORY IS EVERYTHING!
IT’S CUTE, IT’S FUNNY IN A CUTE WAY, IT’S SOFT, IT’S WARM, IT’S SWEET, IT’S MAX ADORABLENESS!!❤
First of all, Noct and Prompto growing up together? HECK YEAH, I’d read 5 books of 400k each without getting tired. It has Papa Cor, and these two sweet angels meant to be together not having to wait 15 years to befriend. Plus, it implies what I love most of this story, Prompto being such an emotional help and support for Noct that both our sweet children and EVERYONE else has it easier thanin the canon.
Prommy can not only take care of the prince’s body, but he’d also be an emotional support and a heart fixer, and honestly that would have been such a treasure to see and akjsdlhsgsfkkdlf this story eases my pain, repairs my heart, and is EVERYTHING that I could have asked for ❤
I really like that you treat the subject of depression, because it’s something real, ven if there’s people that think a child can’t be depressed. Noct lost his mom who knows when, and he was just recently attack by a daemon, he saw one of his nannies/caretakers/retainers die in front of him, heck, he basically swam in her blood and he was inches from her corpse, he suffered a back injury that left him literally wheelchair bound, and saw his dad fight the thing, and as dizzy, confused and barely conscious as he was, maybe Noct could have forgotten/not seen Regis’ victory, so imagine you’re seeing your dear dad fight against a thing with huge possibilities of dying!?
Of course sweet poor lil Noct was depressed! And as silly as it may sound, this is a child that was put in a wheelchair when he wasn’t used to it. He’s lazy but still a child, so don’t you think that he misses running around? Playing in the mud with Gladio? Skipping on rocks with Iggy? Climbing trees? All that he could do before, and after such a shock and trauma, you’re also taking all that from him?
My dear little angel, no wonder he was depressed :(
And then sweet Prommy kicks in as his savior ❤
I love that Prompto’s aware he can’t do anything but cheer him up and keep him entertained. That’s so sweet. I really really really love that Prom understands the situation, as little as he is as well, and that he knows Noct is in need. Prommy’s not trying to have fun himself, he’s trying to cheer his best friend up, and honestly that’s one of the purest things ever.
“Meowing backpacks are a bit obvious” Ahahahhahahahahahhaha!!! That part is SOOOOOOO impossibly sweet, and funny!! So, so, so sweet despite the hilarity of it! Sweet Prommy knowing Noct adores cats, so cats will make him happy right? That train of thoughts is adorable enough, and him picking stray cats JUST specifically to bring them to Noct because “they’ll make him happy”?? GEEZ
HAVE YOU EVER READ A STORY AS PURE AS THIS ONE BEFORE!?!?!?! THAT IS SO PURE AND SWEET AH.
I also love that the guards notice and just let him through, first because the guards not resisting Prommy’s sweetness is so dear and sweet, and then because I imagine kid Prompto all super tense and stiff walking into the Citadel all nervous, and then his backpack meows and he’s sure he’s about to have a heart attack, because the Citadel is so big and quiet, and the cat just meowed and it ECHOED through the hallway and he’s standing right next to the guards, but sweet eight year old Prommy is like “Well, they probably didn’t notice”.
AHAHAHAHAHA, oh Prommy, you sweet creature
I adore so much that about Prommy applying the oil on his wound. Poor Noct, even though he’s grown all his life with nannies and such, it’s just not the SAME than a friend or someone he REALLY knows. These are employees, and he seesthem as such because that’s what they are. And they take care of him and they’re kind, yes, yes, and he appreciates it very much, but that doesn’t take away the fact that they’re still strangers.
And Noct, introvert enough, is currently depressed. A depressed, an introvert, or someone that’s both, they need time and to feel safe and in among people they trust. And it’s not to be spoiled, no; it’s just a matter of emotional comfort and security. Of course it’s okay and easy to understand that Noct grew tired from them and trusted only Prommy to do it.
The best part of that is that Prommy had to learn how to do it right. Sweet Prommy, already doing so much to keep Noct happy and entertained, also learning how to nurse him correctly. This angel of a boy, taking so much time and effort for his best friend, to the point of literally nursing him like adults did, just because he knows Noct is more comfortable that way.
:’) My heart can’t take this much purity hnfgdfg
Prommy taking Noct out for a walk! YES! YES YES YES!!! Prommy pushing his wheelchair is so dear and so sweet asdjajfg, and I love that our dear sunshine boy knows better than anyone that going outside does WONDERS to health (this is true people!), and as all that he wants is for Noct to be healthy and happy, he doesn’t hesitate to take him outside, That’s so sweet!
AND RIGHT WHEN I THOUGHT IT COULDN’T GET SWEETER, PROMPTO OFFERS TO CARRY HIM
APOSJDOPADPFJLFKHGDFKJHADLSKHFD
ASDJKDJFSD
PROMPTO, CHILD PROMPTO, SMALL AND SKINNY (I guess? Because this has papa Cor so, healthy Prommy?), OFFERING TO PICK CHILD NOCT, A BIT TALLER THAN HIM, IN ARMS, ONLY BECAUSE NOCT DOESN’T WANT THE CHAIR ANYMORE.
Best of all is that Noctis isn’t even ordering him to do this, Prompto himself is who notices this stuff and offers some answer. It’s him who notices Noct is tired of that chair, it’s him who noticed Noct misses running and walking on his own. And it’s him who offers to carry himm. We don’t have the cliché whiny little prince that orders and commands like a snob, we have depressed and shy little Noct just having a real frind that wants the best for him, and would go through all the hells that exist just to see him smile. At age 8
I also love that they fell and Noct fell on top of him, because it maybe implies that Prompto actually made sure to fall in a way so Noct wasn’t harmed. I INSIST, IS THERE ANYTHING MORE PURE THAN THIS!?!?! AGH *PUNCHES THROUGH WALL*
nOCTIS IS LAUGHING.
NOCTIS IS LAUGHING
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA- *EXPLODES*
*SHORT CIRCUITS*
NOCTIS IS LAUGHING MY SWEET ANGEL AH, THAT PART IS SO PURE AND SO BEAUTIFUL AND IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY AND SENSITIVE AND HNGFDNF ;A;
To me it taks about how Noct is progressing on his depression, and that the little things Prompto had been doing so far had their results there. It’s not that just the fall made Noct laugh, is that all the effort and things Prompto has done in the past actually unlocked it; like, the event made Noct laugh, but the fact that he CAN laugh in the first place is because of everything that Prompto’s done for him before. Not sure I’m explaining it correctly but that’s what I think :’)
Hahahahaha, I ADORE to bits that they decide to just stay downt here on the ground!!! Ahahahahahahahahha, it’s both funny and SUPER CUTE!! Dear boys falling and unable to/not wanting to stand back up. Too much effort, and they don’t want to take any risks, so it’s okay, right?
It’s such a sweet thing. They fell down together and can’t stand back up? Well, then the only thing that’s left is to roll around, lie on your back, and watch the clouds.
It’s such a beautiful thing whether it’s a metaphor or as literal as it sounds....like they did ;A;
I love that their train of thoughts is “to stay lying/sat here until someone finds us” LMAO. I imagine the two either sprawled on the grass or sat there for HOURS, spending there from 11 am to 9 at night, and sometimes guards see them from the distance but think the kids just got there so they don’t want to bother, ahahahahahah!!! And by the time someone does approach them it’s like
“Boys, you’ve spent here so many hours! Is there a reason for it?”
“Uhm, actually yes, madame. We can’t stand up.”
AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Oh this is such a TREASURE of a story, I’M LOVING IT SO DEARLY.
I adore that Prompto got prepared for the occassion, or maybe for a different one but made it work anyway; snacks, jokes that he accidentally messes up. It’s so dear. That says that Prommy took the time to Moogle jokes SPECIFICALLYwith the intention of cheering Noct up andthat’s so pure and sweet yet again, like everything Prommy has done in this sweet little story. I like to think that Noct appreciates and is cheered upbetter out of the intention than the jokes themselves; I don’t doubt that he finds the messed up jokes hilarious, but I think that he finds even more hilarious that Prommy’s messing the jokes up because he just read SO MANY with the intention of telling them all specifically to Noct.
And that’s sweet and hilarious! Of course sweet Noct would laugh :’)
I’m madly in love with this part of the story because it talks about this philosophy about turning accidents into something brilliant, or about how accidents sometimes turn into something brilliant on their own. How things don’t always go as you intend, but it doesn’t mean that what DOES happen can’t be enjoyable and fantastic. About how even though you intended to do something else, what ends up happening may be not only just good, but maybe even BETTER than the original intention. And honestly that talks SO MUCH to me, I’d love to say more about it hasdldskjfslkdfjds
I also ADORE ADORE ADORE that when Regis asks if Noct is okay, Noct’s answer naturally comes out as “Of course I am, I was with Prompto.”
It’s like...such a pure answer. Because he makes it sound like it’s LOGICAL.
“Did you open the can?” “Yes of course, I had the can opener”... “Do you know this story?” “Yes of course, I read the book”.... “Are you breathing?” “Yes of course, I have lung”.
“Are you okay?” “Yes of course. I’m with Prompto.”
It’s sort of like “Are you alright?” “Yes, of course, I have the only tool that is required to be happy and alright, so there is literally no reason I wouldn’t be okay.”
ALSKDJSLKDFJSDLFKJSDF
THAT IS
SO PURE AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGH *FLIPS ENTIRE HOUSE*
“And a genuine smile”. *sigh* I adore that you have this skill of saying SO MUCH in such few words, and not just in that sentence. But that one is such a beautiful example; in just four words you talk about the entirety of Noct’s progress with his depression, about the results of Prompto’s efforts and hard work, about everything. IT talks so much about how Prompto has done such an amazing job at healing Noct in ways that go beyond just the physical part that Noct, after months, in depression, gives a genuine smile despite everything else.
That is so hngfdngdfhgf
I don’t have words enough aaah ;A;
Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you thank you, THANK YOU...for sharing this with me. Thank you. So, so, so much, you don’t have an idea. I feel honored that you’re sharing your stories with me, that you’ve gathered confidence enough to write your stories somewhere, even if just as anon with someone else. I’m flattered and honored to be that someone else. To see your stories, your imagination, and everything.
I’m loving this story so much. I adore it to bits, seriously. I would have adored to say more about everything, but I currently have so much in my ask box, so I’m sorry if my answer is shorter than usual. I’d have loved to say more, but I also want to answer to everyone. Thank you for understanding, and know that if my comment feels short, it’s not on your story, it’s just me! Your story? Pffft. I love it, love it, LOVE it! I adore it to bits. Thank you so dearly, seriously, this is an incredible little story and I LOVED every part of it SO MUCH!
Thank you!!
You’re great and I love your stories. Thanks for sharing yet another one with me! It’s an INCREDIBLE work, like usual. THANK YOU!❤

The Loss Of Oliver...
Has made me super aware of all things cat related now.
I am super obsessed and super in love with all things foof like that go “mew!”
Not that I wasn’t before, since Oliver was just 9 weeks old when I adopted him from the ASPCA (Adopt don’t shop, no matter how cute that puppy looks in the window!)
Anyway he was so tiny he fit in the palm of my hand, and had the tiniest, baby meow I had ever heard. Up till his last breaths he maintained that baby meow and I will forever love the sound of it and miss it dearly.
You know when I decided to go there and look at the cats to adopt, I originally went there with the intent of picking out a black cat.
I am super obsessed with black cats (and orange tabby cats too n__n)
But I had also wanted to start out my adventure with the animal in kitten form, but there were no black cat kittens. There were a couple of black cats that were like 2 months old, but I didn’t want that, I wanted a baby. Lol I’m so picky, sorry not sorry.
And there he was, in all his tiny, cuteness. He was so precious...but he wasn’t a black cat.
He was a kitten though, so I thought I’d at least say hi to him. One of the best decisions I ever made to this day. I remember kneeling down to get better acquainted with him since he was in a bottom cage. And him wanting absolutely nothing to do with me, haha. Small note: prior to me entering the room he had been in a play area with a girl and her mom, and I guess they had decided not to get him after all (lucky me) cause when I first saw him I thought: “How cute, I want to see him too!”
So anyway I kneeled down in front of him, and him showing no interest in me I was like “Well fine be that way, I guess I’ll go look at these other cats!” and as I’m getting up and attempting to walk away he reaches his paw through the bars of the cage at me and gives the biggest meow and starts freaking out to get me back.
From that moment on, that reaction on, I knew he was mine.
I didn’t waste any time getting him together and bringing him home. I paid the $75 adoption fee and signed the papers for him and he had to get neutered lol (poor little guy loosing his little nunganungas before he’s had a chance to use them LOL)
And from that day on (October 15, 2010) till about 1 o’clock (I say this because I wasn’t paying attention to the time in this moment. No in this moment I was holding him in front of the big window in the room at the vet’s getting in his last views of the world....before he had to go....) February 15, 2021 he was my best friend.
He’ll always be my best friend, that will never change, the memories, the imprints have already been made so there’s no getting rid of the title even if he’s no longer physically with me.
We’re having him cremated, my mother wanted that for him. We’re doing things differently with him than we have done with our previous cats that have come and gone from our family. Those cats are all buried in the back yard. No, Oliver didn’t deserve that ending. He was my baby, through and through. I can’t let him go.
So he shall forever be in a box, turned into what I explained to my five year old as “They magically turned him into sand, and we’ve put him in a box so he’ll always be with us even if we move away.” Believe me this constant talk of death and pet related to my daughter has been an exhausting experience and learning of a lot of life lessons that’s for sure.
This never ending relationship with the rainbow bridge is such a gut wrenching thing I swear. I feel extremely lost and empty now from this.
Ever time I go to my parent’s house now I keep expecting him to be trying to run and escape out the front door, or be in the front window greeting me and bird watching. I keep expecting him to be on the kitchen counter trying to look out the window and try to rub and love on me for attention.
It’s such a hard thing trying to keep moving forward without something that’s had such an impact on your life. Oh Oliver, how I miss you so. How your energy, at least for me, is still very present in the house. When I try to walk, I can feel you zooming past me, I can feeling you jumping. I swear I can still hear you scratching.
I think this is going to drive me more insane if I’m being honest with you.
Dear Universe I just want my cat back.
I just want my baby back......please......
Oh how I wish it was that easy. That you could just step outside, put your hands together like you’re praying, look up to the sky, and just say please...please can I have them back......and they come back. Just like that.
I’d give anything to have him back......anything. That’s how much I love him, how much I will always love him no matter how far away he goes from me, and even if I can no longer hold him, I will always love my furbaby.
On that note I’m gonna go now and continue to have my mental break downs and crying fest because I suddenly remember the amazing life of a sweet and good little floofball that was a part of my life. That at one point (before I had a human baby and betrayed him lol) he was my everything. He will always be my main man.
My little Ollie Monster. Momma loves you.
Goodnight Tumblr, stay safe, hold your furbabies close.

The Cunning Fox and the Clever Stork
Once upon a time, there lived a very cunning and mischievous fox. He used to speak to other animals sweetly and gain their trust, before playing tricks on them.
One day the fox met a stork. He befriended the stork and acted like a very good friend. Soon, he invited the stork to have a feast with him. The stork happily accepted the invitation.
The day of the feast came, and the stork went to the fox’s house. To her surprise and disappointment, the fox said that he could not make a big feast as promised, and just offered some soup. When he brought the soup out of the kitchen, the stork saw that it was in a shallow bowl!
The poor stork could not have any soup with its long bill, but the fox easily licked the soup from the plate. As the stork just touched the soup with the tip of its bill, the fox asked her, “How is the soup? Don’t you like it?”
The hungry stork replied, “Oh it is good, but my stomach is upset, and I can’t take any more soup!”
“I’m sorry for troubling you,” said the fox.
The stork replied, “Oh dear, please don’t say sorry. I have some health problem and cannot enjoy what you offer.”
She left the place after thanking the fox, and inviting him to her house for dinner.
The day arrived and the fox reached the stork’s place. After exchanging pleasantries, the stork served soup for both of them, in a narrow jar with a long neck. She was able to have the soup very easily with her long bill, but the fox obviously could not.
After finishing hers, the stork asked the fox if he was enjoying the soup. The fox remembered the feast he himself had given the stork, and felt very ashamed. He stammered, “I…I’d better leave now. I have a tummy ache.”
Humiliated, he left the place running
The Hare and the Tortoise
There once was a speedy Hare who bragged about how fast he could run. Tired of hearing him boast, the Tortoise challenged him to a race. All the animals in the forest gathered to watch.
The Hare ran down the road for a while and then paused to rest. He looked back at the tortoise and cried out, "How do you expect to win this race when you are walking along at your slow, slow pace?"
The Hare stretched himself out alongside the road and fell asleep, thinking, "There is plenty of time to relax."
The Tortoise walked and walked, never ever stopping until he came to the finish line.
The animals who were watching cheered so loudly for Tortoise that they woke up the Hare. The Hare stretched, yawned and began to run again, but it was too late. Tortoise had already crossed the finish line.
The Pumpkin Glory
The papa had told the story so often that the children knew just exactly what to expect the moment he began. They all knew it as well as he knew it himself, and they could keep him from making mistakes, or forgetting. Sometimes he would go wrong on purpose, or would pretend to forget, and then they had a perfect right to pound him till he quit it. He usually quit pretty soon.
The children liked it because it was very exciting, and at the same time it had no moral, so that when it was all over, they could feel that they had not been excited just for the moral. The first time the little girl heard it she began to cry, when it came to the worst part; but the boy had heard it so much by that time that he did not mind it in the least, and just laughed.
The story was in season any time between Thanksgiving and New Years; but the papa usually began to tell it in the early part of October, when the farmers were getting in their pumpkins, and the children were asking when they were going to have any squash pies, and the boy had made his first jack-o'-lantern.
"Well," the papa said, "once there were two little pumpkin seeds, and one was a good little pumpkin seed, and the other was bad--very proud, and vain, and ambitious."
The papa had told them what ambitious was, and so the children did not stop him when he came to that word; but sometimes he would stop of his own accord, and then if they could not tell what it meant, he would pretend that he was not going on; but he always did go on.
"Well, the farmer took both the seeds out to plant them in the home-patch, because they were a very extra kind of seeds, and he was not going to risk them in the cornfield, among the corn. So before he put them in the ground, he asked each one of them what he wanted to be when he came up, and the good little pumpkin seed said he wanted to come up a pumpkin, and be made into a pie, and be eaten at Thanksgiving dinner; and the bad little pumpkin seed said he wanted to come up a morning-glory.
"'Morning-glory!' says the farmer. 'I guess you'll come up a pumpkin-glory, first thing you know,' and then he haw-hawed, and told his son, who was helping him to plant the garden, to keep watch of that particular hill of pumpkins, and see whether that little seed came up a morning-glory or not; and the boy stuck a stick into the hill so he could tell it. But one night the cow got in, and the farmer was so mad, having to get up about one o'clock in the morning to drive the cow out, that he pulled up the stick, without noticing, to whack her over the back with it, and so they lost the place.
"But the two little pumpkin seeds, they knew where they were well enough, and they lay low, and let the rain and the sun soak in and swell them up; and then they both began to push, and by-and-by they got their heads out of the ground, with their shells down over their eyes like caps, and as soon as they could shake them off and look round, the bad little pumpkin vine said to his brother:
"'Well, what are you going to do now?'
"The good little pumpkin vine said, 'Oh, I'm just going to stay here, and grow and grow, and put out all the blossoms I can, and let them all drop off but one, and then grow that into the biggest and fattest and sweetest pumpkin that ever was for Thanksgiving pies.'
The Little Red Hen
A Little Red Hen lived in a barnyard. She spent almost all of her time walking about the barnyard in her picketty-pecketty fashion, scratching everywhere for worms.
She dearly loved fat, delicious worms and felt they were absolutely necessary to the health of her children. As often as she found a worm she would call "Chuck-chuck-chuck!" to her chickies.
When they were gathered about her, she would distribute choice morsels of her tid-bit. A busy little body was she!
A cat usually napped lazily in the barn door, not even bothering herself to scare the rat who ran here and there as he pleased. And as for the pig who lived in the sty – he did not care what happened so long as he could eat and grow fat.
One day the Little Red Hen found a Seed. It was a Wheat Seed, but the Little Red Hen was so accustomed to bugs and worms that she supposed this to be some new and perhaps very delicious kind of meat. She bit it gently and found that it resembled a worm in no way whatsoever as to taste although because it was long and slender, a Little Red Hen might easily be fooled by its appearance.
Carrying it about, she made many inquiries as to what it might be. She found it was a Wheat Seed and that, if planted, it would grow up and when ripe it could be made into flour and then into bread.
When she discovered that, she knew it ought to be planted. She was so busy hunting food for herself and her family that, naturally, she thought she ought not to take time to plant it.
So she thought of the Pig - upon whom time must hang heavily and of the Cat who had nothing to do, and of the great fat Rat with his idle hours, and she called loudly:
"Who will plant the Seed?"
But the Pig said, "Not I," and the Cat said, "Not I," and the Rat said, "Not I."
"Well, then," said the Little Red Hen, "I will."
And she did.
Then she went on with her daily duties through the long summer days, scratching for worms and feeding her chicks, while the Pig grew fat, and the Cat grew fat, and the Rat grew fat, and the Wheat grew tall and ready for harvest.
So one day the Little Red Hen chanced to notice how large the Wheat was and that the grain was ripe, so she ran about calling briskly: "Who will cut the Wheat?"
The Pig said, "Not I," the Cat said, "Not I," and the Rat said, "Not I."
"Well, then," said the Little Red Hen, "I will."
And she did.
She got the sickle from among the farmer's tools in the barn and proceeded to cut off all of the big plant of Wheat.
On the ground lay the nicely cut Wheat, ready to be gathered and threshed, but the newest and yellowest and downiest of Mrs. Hen's chicks set up a "peep-peep-peeping" in their most vigorous fashion, proclaiming to the world at large, but most particularly to their mother, that she was neglecting them.
Poor Little Red Hen! She felt quite bewildered and hardly knew where to turn.
Her attention was sorely divided between her duty to her children and her duty to the Wheat, for which she felt responsible.
So, again, in a very hopeful tone, she called out, "Who will thresh the Wheat?"
But the Pig, with a grunt, said, "Not I," and the Cat, with a meow, said, "Not I," and the Rat, with a squeak, said, "Not I."
So the Little Red Hen, looking, it must be admitted, rather discouraged, said, "Well, I will, then."
And she did.
Of course, she had to feed her babies first, though, and when she had gotten them all to sleep for their afternoon nap, she went out and threshed the Wheat. Then she called out: "Who will carry the Wheat to the mill to be ground?"
Turning their backs with snippy glee, that Pig said, "Not I," and that Cat said, "Not I," and that Rat said, "Not I."
So the good Little Red Hen could do nothing but say, "I will then." And she did.
Carrying the sack of Wheat, she trudged off to the distant mill. There she ordered the Wheat ground into beautiful white flour. When the miller brought her the flour she walked slowly back all the way to her own barnyard in her own picketty-pecketty fashion.
She even managed, in spite of her load, to catch a nice juicy worm now and then and had one left for the babies when she reached them. Those cunning little fluff-balls were so glad to see their mother. For the first time, they really appreciated her.
After this really strenuous day Mrs. Hen retired to her slumbers earlier than usual - indeed, before the colors came into the sky to herald the setting of the sun, her usual bedtime hour.
She would have liked to sleep late in the morning, but her chicks, joining in the morning chorus of the hen yard, drove away all hopes of such a luxury.
Even as she sleepily half opened one eye, the thought came to her that to-day that Wheat must, somehow, be made into bread.
She was not in the habit of making bread, although, of course, anyone can make it if he or she follows the recipe with care, and she knew perfectly well that she could do it if necessary.
So after her children were fed and made sweet and fresh for the day, she hunted up the Pig, the Cat and the Rat.
Still confident that they would surely help her some day she sang out, "Who will make the bread?"
Alas for the Little Red Hen! Once more her hopes were dashed! For the Pig said, "Not I," the Cat said, "Not I," and the Rat said, "Not I."
So the Little Red Hen said once more, "I will then," and she did.
Feeling that she might have known all the time that she would have to do it all herself, she went and put on a fresh apron and spotless cook's cap. First of all she set the dough, as was proper. When it was time she brought out the moulding board and the baking tins, moulded the bread, divided it into loaves, and put them into the oven to bake. All the while the Cat sat lazily by, giggling and chuckling.
And close at hand the vain Rat powdered his nose and admired himself in a mirror.
In the distance could be heard the long-drawn snores of the dozing Pig.
At last the great moment arrived. A delicious odor was wafted upon the autumn breeze. Everywhere the barnyard citizens sniffed the air with delight.
The Red Hen ambled in her picketty-pecketty way toward the source of all this excitement.
Although she appeared to be perfectly calm, in reality she could only with difficulty restrain an impulse to dance and sing, for had she not done all the work on this wonderful bread?
Small wonder that she was the most excited person in the barnyard!
She did not know whether the bread would be fit to eat, but - joy of joys! - when the lovely brown loaves came out of the oven, they were done to perfection.
Then, probably because she had acquired the habit, the Red Hen called: "Who will eat the Bread?"
All the animals in the barnyard were watching hungrily and smacking their lips in anticipation, and the Pig said, "I will," the Cat said, "I will," the Rat said, "I will."
But the Little Red Hen said,
"No, you won't. I will."
And she did.

Turn Loose the Mermaids (Part 29)
AU belongs to Taulun
Wedding Bells, ayyyy. Thanks to @miracujess for being my beta and for suggesting one of the best addition of this chapter lol. Also, there are many references in here, I think.
SIN WARNING from the middle of the chapter down, I think. You’ll see it coming.
First | Next
“I can’t actually believe you made me captain for this,” Nino muttered, giving his best friend a stink eye.
Adrien raised an eyebrow at him. “Would you rather have me be both the priest and the groom of my own wedding?”
“I wouldn’t put it past you. It would still be the most sane thing you had ever done in your life.” Chat was about to give him a sharp retort when they heard footsteps coming up on the deck. Chat tensed. Arranging a secret wedding to a mermaid who wasn’t supposed to have feet was no easy business and he dreaded the idea of being caught. Not because of himself, but because it would have put Marinette and Nino in danger too and that was the last thing he wanted. His worries vanished as he saw Marinette’s figure appearing. And even if he was no longer worried about being caught, his heart still beat faster than normal, almost jumping out of his chest because of the sight before him.
Marinette didn’t allow him to see what dress she picked for the wedding. Which honestly was his own fault for mentioning to her the belief that seeing the bride in her gown before the wedding is bad luck. So Marinette simply sent him out of the cabin and told him she will see him at the wedding. If she had planned to take his breath away, she succeeded. The blue dress she picked was simple, but it worked perfectly for Marinette. Flowy with a square neckline and puffy sleeves. It worked perfectly with her pale complexion and it complimented her eyes amazingly. Her long hair was still loose, but it seemed a little more tame than usual. And between the dark locks was a little crown made out of small shells. The sea breeze was blowing against her hair and her dress ever so slightly and the full moon shining above the gave her an ethereal glow — she was a sight from another world. But when she looked up and gave him one of those blinding smiles of hers, so full of love and kindness and honesty, that’s what left him breathless. Marinette began walking towards them and his chest filled with a warm feeling. And for all that was worth, he wasn’t able to see anything aside from her. The sea, the ship, and everything else just disappeared from before his eyes and all was left was Marinette.
“Mate,” it was Nino’s voice that broke his trance. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you like this.”
Raising his hand to wipe away the tears he wasn’t even aware he was shedding, Adrien smiled something between happy and sad. “It had been years since the last time I cried, I have to admit.”
Marinette reached his side and he extended his hand for her to take it, which she did so with a brilliant smile. Nino cleared his throat and they both turned to him.
“Dearly beloved,” Nino began in a very ceremonious tone. “We are gathered here today to seal the hearts of these two in the holy ceremony of marriage. And by “us”, I mean me.”
And offended meow got their attentions and three pairs of eyes looked down to notice a very offended Plagg glaring at Nino. He scoffed. “Alright. By “us”, I mean me and the cat.”
Nino cleared his voice again. “Captain Chat Noir, do you take Marinette as your faithful wife in…”
“Wait,” Chat interrupted. Marinette blinked, confused, at Nino. “What about our vows?”
Nino rolled his eyes, his hand going reflexively towards his bottle of rum, before realizing he left it in his cabin. Well, damn. With a sigh, Nino looked at the couple in front of him. “I had to stay through you fever confessions, I’ll be damned if I stay through your wedding vows. Let me pronounce you husband and wife and then you can declare your love all night long.”
Marinette and Chat exchanged a look before shrugging. Nino began the question again. “Chat, do you take this woman… mermaid... you know, to be your wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto her for as long as you both shall live?”
Not taking his eyes off Marinette for one second, Chat answered, “I do.”
Turning to Marinette, Nino stated the same question. “Marinette, do you take this mad idiot with shitty humour — I mean, man — to be your husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto him for as long as you both shall live?
“I do,” Marinette answered without hesitation, looking deeply into Chat’s green eyes.
“Then, through the power vested in me specifically for this thing, I pronounce you husband and wife.” Nino clapped his hands. “You can kiss each other after I get out of here. And keep proclaiming your love for each other for a while; I want to get some sleep before you start your wedding night.” With that Nino walked past them and disappeared under the deck.
Marinette and Chat exchanged a look before bursting out laughing. Chat shook his head. “Poor Nino. I’m lucky he still puts up with me after all these years. Honestly, I think I’m the reason he is an alcoholic.” With an amused sigh, he returned his attention to Marinette. “Princess, I… “
“I don’t have a ring for you,” Marinette said in a rush, still holding his hand. She bit her lips anxiously, before glancing up at him. “You said people exchange rings, but I have no ring to give you and I’m sorry.”
Chat squeezed her, ready to assure her there is no problem, but then Mariette lifted her her left hand. He noticed she had kept her it in a fist since she arrived, but didn’t think much about it. But when she opened it, he saw a little scale. It was as if a master artist tested pink hues on it, a beautiful ombre from a stronger pink to a pastel one.
“It is my most beautiful scale,” Marinette said, raising her open palm towards him. “I hope it will suffice.”
“Marinette…“ Chat whispered, moved. He knew how much scales meant for mermaids and how painful it must have been to take one out. Chat pulled the necklace from under his shirt. He didn’t wear it; he preferred to keep it safely in his cabin rather than risk losing it under any circumstances. He couldn’t bear the thought of losing one of the two last things he had from his mother. But this time, he just felt the need to wear it. It was his wedding after all. He wanted to have her as close as possible. Taking the scale from Marinette hand he put it carefully inside the locket before pressing it against his chest.
“I’ll always keep it close to my heart,” he promised.
(Oh, boy here comes that ridiculous amount of super runny cheese, Plagg thought while eying the bride and the groom.)
Marinette smiled, her eyes full of joy as she took his hands. “This is my vow to you, Chat.” She kept his eyes on him as she spoke. “I give you my heart, at the rising of the moon and the setting of the stars. To love and to honor through all that may come. Through all our lives together, in all our lives, may we be reborn that we may meet and know and love again and remember.”
Chat squeezed her hands before bringing them to his lips to kiss her knuckles. Her words had been so beautiful and so full of honesty, it was close to making him shed tears of joy for a second time that night. Taking the silver ring he prepared from his pocket, he showed it to her.
“Marinette.” Bringing her hand up, he began, “I pledge my love to you, and everything that I own. I pledge that your name will always be the name I cry aloud in the dead of night. To take away your sorrows and to light your path through the dark. I will cherish and honor you through this life and into the next. And with this ring, I ask you to be mine in this life and the next to come.”
Marinette nodded, giving him the silent answer to his question. Chat put the silver ring on her finger. His mother had had it made when he was born, for when he was older, but he outgrew it. But it was a perfect fit on Marinette’s finger. Just like the two of them.
Chat was about to say she could kiss the groom, but Marinette was one step ahead of him. Without waiting for anything else, she pulled him into a kiss. And even though he lost the count of the many kissed they shared, he could easily say this one was the best one. They were taking their time, slow and sweet. Chat wrapped an arm around her waist bringing her closer as Marinette run her fingers through his hair. And even if they kept it sweet, he could still feel the passion through the kiss. A steady one, a passion that will last through time. No need to rush when they had all the time in the world.
“So what now?” Marinette asked, a little out of breath, once they broke apart.
Chat couldn’t stop the smirk that formed on his lips. “Now, you see, the tradition says the husband and wife have to spend the night together. Making everything, official, you know.”
Catching on the meaning of his words, Marinette got one of those devilish smiles that often made him question if her innocence had been just good acting. Before he could do or say anything else though Marinette grabbed his hand and dragged him along under the deck and to his cabin. Chat didn’t let her open the door though, managing to swap her off her feet just before going through the door.
“What did you do that for? I can walk just fine!” Marinette whined as Chat kicked the door closed.
“Oh, I know, but this is also a tradition. The groom carries the bride over the threshold.”
Marinette hummed in acceptance before looking up at him through her lashes. “So say, husband of mine, can I ride you for the whole night?”
Chat inhaled sharply. Any other night, he would have accepted the offer without a blink. But tonight, he had something else in mind.
“Not tonight. I have other plans for you, my sweet wife.”
“Are you going to ride me then?” she asked as Chat settled her back on her feet and began pulling gently at the material of her dress.
“No. What I’m going to do is a surprise,” he whispered against her skin as he kissed down her neck.
He wanted to keep it slow and sweet this time. Take their time on this special night and enjoy every moment. But Marinette had never really been patient, and faster than he realized it he ended up naked on the bed with Marinette in his lap.
“You are an impatient little thing, you know?” he remarked as he sucked on the skin of her collarbone.
“You should know by now, husband, I’m far from patient,” she whispered against his lips.
“Don’t I kn… n… oh.” His words turned to moans as Marinette slid him into her, engulfing him in her warmth. She giggled against his neck, before beginning to suck on his skin and moving her hips in a familiar rhythm. Oh, if that’s what she wanted to play at, he will pull his little surprise earlier than he intended. Chat’s hands grabbed her hips, helping her keep the rhythm consistent.
As for Marinette, she was in paradise. Whenever she made love to him, it always felt simply perfect as the tiny waves of pleasure took over them both and their bodies were moving together in a harmony of their own. Marinette felt Chat leaning against her and whispering in her ear.
“I don’t need a map, my heart points me to you,” he sang softly, making Marinette gasp loudly. “Even if the road ahead is rough, I can’t do this where I stand.”
Marinette clung to him for dear life, all her senses blazing. He kept the slow pace of their love making as he sang in her ear. A tune she didn’t know, words unfamiliar to her. It could only mean the song had never been sang before. He wrote her a song. One he was currently singing with his voice filled with love, adoration, and care. Marinette let out a sob of pure bliss as her body was trembling. Two types of pleasure and a mess of intense feelings coursing through her heart and body. He knew what effect songs had on her and he was doing it on purpose. And Marinette could only moan and sigh and shiver as she let herself get lost in the waves of satisfaction.
“Flower that bloomed in the dark, the moon above the sea, a place like a secret, my beautiful,” Chat finished the song as she came apart in his arms singing a symphony of pleasure.
Chat smiled happily as he held her to his chest while she came from the heights he had managed to send her to.
“I love you dearly, my sweet Marinette,” he whispered, kissing the top of her head.
And even though words were hard to process for her in that moment — as she was still trying to regain her senses properly — she managed to press her lips against his chest, just above his fast beating heart. And that was all that he needed.
