age 10; not necessarily a troublemaker, but still often found his way to trouble anyway. did not appreciate bullies and would often punch them on the nose if they went too far
age 15; started bleaching his hair much to his mother's dismay, the only kind of freedom he managed to get at that age. had started to get into fights on the regular, standing up for his best friend mikhail
age 22; absolutely off the rails in college, abusing every substance he could get his hands on. leaving home and losing contact with mikhail had not been easy for vitali and he struggled to pay rent and keep jobs
age 24; fresh out of arasaka's training program and soon to be part of counterintel's finest. he was no longer as wild as in college, acting a lot more professional in hopes to make it far in the corporation
age 29; vitali is a fixer nowadays, operating from wellsprings and no longer part of arasaka after having been fired some time back. he is well-respected by his mercenaries and known for his reliable services and good pay

Of course Aubrey had heard of the Council before. I mean– who hadn’t? They didn’t necessarily rule the streets, or Night City’s underworld for that matter, but they sure as hell loved to rub their asses all over it at any given opportunity and never in his years of being a fixer himself had he felt the need to associate himself with any of them.
He understood why it was necessary, sure– the agreements they made and the city-wide gang activity they monitored and reported to one another were a vital part of ensuring business stability as well as their own survival– but he knew the biz well enough to not trust the feigned kindness and so-called sense of community they supposedly aimed for.
Everyone always had their own agenda. None of it was simply out of the kindness of their hearts, to ensure the safety of the innocent citizens of Night City– it would be naive of him to think so and by then he knew better than to let wishful thinking cloud his judgment.
