He’s to small and inexperienced to be used during battles so he just hangs around the league when Iris has a challenger, or watches the battle from the sidelines

But yeah this mf has his own room full of chew toys and all the structures to play on so he doesn’t disrupt the E4 anymore. Who knows how long they can keep Caitlin calm before she snaps

Everyone apart of the Unova Kids except Bianca is just tired of Eepy but they also love him to death

Last thing but I just know Haxorus gets jealous of Eepy because Iris gives him more attention than her. Hax has probably picked up Eepy off of Iris’ lap, taken him to the next room, shut the door, and walked back to Iris just to place her own head on Iris’ lap

Caitlin's also vibing tho she pegs me as the type that is so adamant they should get rid of Eepy, give him to another trainer that can take care of him, so she can get her beauty sleep back, but once there was no trace of Eepy in the league (lil shit found his way to the old Pasma castle beneath it), Caitlin got so damn worried like she didn't hear Eepy running around and he wasn't in his room, imagine her just going to Marshal's chamber and just frantically telling him that Eepy's missing so the entire day they looked for Eepy and found him chewing a random pokeball at Route 23

Caitlin had Reuniclus use psychic to lift up Eepy and she's there almost scolding him, telling him she— well, the others, got so worried abt him, he's always causing trouble wherever he goes, and Eepy's there still chewing the pokeball lmfao

Bet, the rest of the E4 tease Caitlin that she's actually growing soft on Eepy, Caitlin said she just didn't want Iris to be sad that Eepy suddenly went missing, yeah she's in denial hahaha

and as much as i love it when random happenings turn into important bonds i think its equally as beautiful when u have some random interaction with someone and it deeply impacts u and then u never see or hear of them again. like wow we know nothing abt each other and yet u still managed to be a key memory in my life how cool is that!!!!!!

i didn’t get very far in usum yet bc of all the hassle i experienced just getting the game to run but i still have those familiar mixed feelings on it. the graphics are neat with the right filters, the UI’s lovely as all hell, and sure the story does get a bit overbearing when it wants to but there’s still a feeling to these games that keeps bringing me back, at least for melemele island if nothing else

like there’s plenty to appreciate here. the cutscenes where the characters don’t just stand there performing default animations are nice, pokemon refresh is just about the streamlining amie needed, and the concept of regional variants is kinda fun. but the handholding, oh the handholding, whatever happened to the chaos of being a 10 y/o who forcefully barges their way out of town and almost gets mauled by rats before the adults give them a pokemon to go haywire with? the world-ending evil organizations that are thwarted by that same kid who also somehow captured a god? scouring your way through the wilderness with the power of your own pokemon? the pokerides do eliminate the problem of HM slaves sure, but they make the whole adventure seem less like an adventure and more like taking the bus downtown to go shopping. and the ride gear does not help the cause whatsoever

alola has good concepts, hell i don’t even mind the trials they’re fine for the most part. but i feel like it started this trend where you’re no longer exploring the world of pokemon and discovering creatures and going to uncharted locations full of mysteries, you’re just... walking across the neighborhood, politely obeying the street signs. even kalos felt more untamed, and that region came with the biggest city pokemon had ever seen to date. i don’t mind the attempt at making the world feel more lived-in or featuring up-to-date technology, but there are too many concrete roads and too many comfortable street signs and metal fences that keep the wild pokemon at bay. and too much goddamn safety gear i cannot emphasize how much that breaks the illusion of any adventure you could be having here

i’ll have to play more to really hone these thoughts, this is just first impressions mixed with my previous opinions on the games and the region in general. im hoping to gain a new appreciation for all this now that time’s passed and we’ve experienced the linearity of galar and the region where you clip through the floor or whatever it’s called

#soda offers you a can #i think some people feel this way abt unova right? mixed feelings and shit?#for the most part my thoughts on these games are pretty clear #like gen 1 is dumb fun and gen 2 is peak aesthetic #3 and 4 are nostalgic as hell for me for different reasons #gen 5 i think was the peak honestly #and i have a gen6 bias bc i played it So Fucking Much and it got me into competitive #gen8 was disappointing and i think im done with the games for now #but alola. what a mysterious beast.#couldn't get into it (+ ran out of steam for pokemon in general around that time)#and i felt very salty about the PC box space i remember that very clearly #(had to split my nat dex onto sun and ultra moon just to store all the dudes and still have SOME space)#but i know some people love it dearly and i desperately want to see why and feel those vibes #bc i think there's a neat game somewhere in here #i just gotta reach it i think

FUCK i can't believe i forgot abt going to a drag show in boston... missed opportunity

#well. the town im going to college in has a small drag scene so its not like that big a deal #but stilllll. would've been fun. and i would've had a friend to ease me into it bc ive never gone #idek if there's still a gay bar in my town #i mean ik there's cruising bc a couple of friends do it #and ofc dating apps and such #but i don't think there's a bar anymore the one everyone goes to closed down 😭 and idk which one they go to instead now #can't drink so idc but itd be nice to know. i think most gay ppl up here r either #too young to go to bars or somewhat closeted #like my civics teacher in middle school was gay but he was like. an former lawyer who moved up here bc he likes horses #dunno that he was going out on the town too much yk #and friends my age go on dating apps and such (#which is really not fucking safe at all but whatever i get it theres not much else to do here #and theres like one public park where people fuck #but no like bars or community centers afaik #i gotta fucking. Get on facebook. its like the only way to link up w people in a small town lmao #its how i found people for pokemon go 😭 and when my cat ran off for a week

However, when you finally open the album, you don't pull him. Genre ! So fluff I can't, romance Warnings ! swearing, kissing, not proof-read, my humour- Wc ! 1.3k a/n ! Totally not based bcs today I finally bought the album and got Junmin while I was manifesting Seeun- HOWEVER JUNMIN LOOKED SAUR CUTE ON THE PHOTOCARD I CAN'T

After knowing my boyfriend was finally going to debut I had one thing in mind and one thing only: Collect his group’s photocards. Until now, I haven’t really collected any photocards even while having around 20 albums myself. I just kinda kept them in their album boxes and the usual one photocard that I kept in the back of my phone case. Seeun wasn’t thrilled about this, he took my photocard choices very seriously, telling me I should keep them in a safer manner or that I could not by any means in the entire world take my Enhypen’s Niki photocard everywhere I went.

While he was still a trainee it seemed like he also had one goal in mind: Gain my phone case photocard spot. He tried to gift me Polaroids that he took and make me save them on my phone case. At first, I did have them on my phone, but after seeing an idea on Pinterest I couldn’t help myself; All the Polaroids went on the now giant pictures wall. He then started to hate Pinterest. Sure he said all those things jokingly, he knew how much I loved kpop and how much that wall of pictures meant to me. He loved seeing me happy, but he did hate when I got his first album.

Seeun kept telling me how I could not, by any means, buy his album. Talking about how he was going to gift it to me. “You’re going to curse it.” He said. “You always cry about how you never get your biases unless I’m the one who gifted you the album. I’m not taking any chances.” It was hell waiting for it. I had been waiting for years until his debut, and now I had to wait even more until I could get the physical album? Unbelievable. Seeing all those unboxing videos, and all these people having more than one photocard inclusion while I, who wasn’t able to even pre-order because of Seeun, will only have one. I learned to get over it quickly, patience is a virtue… Fuck that. I don’t wanna wait anymore. It’s been years, decades, maybe even centuries since the album came out. I want that album. I need that album.

What’s worse is that I didn’t realize with Seeun’s debut that he’ll be even busier. Maybe what I actually needed was Seeun, not his album.

I’m lying around my living room. A kdrama playing on the tv, and the window is open while I feel really cold. Look, someone is lazy, okay? And the kdrama is so interesting as well… An open box of snacks next to me that I slowly reach out to, not taking my eyes off the tv. The scene was so intense that it was able to make me ignore the little click of the door until I hear someone shouting. “IT’S HERE!” I slowly turn my head around with my eyes wide open. Who the fuck? A wild Seeun appears. Like literally, ignore the bad pokemon reference, Seeun comes in running with a bag in his right hand and his phone in his left hand, which he’s waving. He has the biggest grin on his face while looking at me. I smiled too. Pausing the show while standing up, running towards Seeun going for a hug. Which I never received. Seeun moved to the window and closed it. “It’s really cold outside, you shouldn’t have your window opened, it’s literally about to rain.” He said. I tilt my head and shrug my shoulders while still smiling. “Meh that’s not important, come here” I ran towards him again, only for him to move to the couch, moving some items to the floor before placing a pizza-shaped box on the table. I glare at him. “Look I got it!! Aren’t you excited?!” Seeun says with, again, a really big smile. I try to contain a smile and jokingly I roll my eyes, turn around, and act petty. “I would be more excited if my boyfriend, who I haven’t seen since February, would hug me.” I try to look at him for a bit, and seeing that he now has a smirk on his face I turn my head around again. “Oh really?” He said teasingly. I turn around with a blank face. “No.” We stay looking at each other for some seconds before I start smiling again. I run to the side of the sofa he is sitting on and I jump on top of him. “I’ve missed you so much,” I say while hugging him tightly. He moves my head from being buried in his neck to being in front of him. His expression mirrors mines, a big, BIG smile, and eyes with adoration filled in them. He squishes my face. “I missed you too, so much” Seeun turns his face to look at the box on the table behind me. He sits me on his lap as he sits up, leans forward with a hand on my back to not make me fall, and grabs the box off the table.

“I got you this,” He says, “hope you like it” I shake my hands and grab the box out of his hands. “I’m just saying, with my luck you’ll get my photocard so enjoy. I did one on this version with that pose you showed me. I’m manifesting specifically that one for you.” Seeun looks at me proudly. I nod fast and start to rip off the plastic that wraps the album. Seeun laughs softly at my poor attempt to rip the plastic off. “Look,” I start saying, “these things are made by the devil himself, don’t laugh at my poor persona because I can’t open the album” I stop my attempt while glaring at him. “Also, I’ve seen you trying to open albums before, and you aren’t a god at opening albums yourself” Finally being able to open the album I grab the most important part of the album. The cd. I’m joking, I grab the inclusions knowing that the part that Seeun mostly wanted to see. I rip one side of the envelope the inclusions were in and slowly turn my head to look at my boyfriend. Fuck, he has his face way too close. Seeun got closer in anticipation of the grand reveal. He nods encouraging.

I pull out the postcard first, and I smile. “Look I got the baby!” I laugh, Seeun smiles a bit too. “Could’ve been better but I guess a Yechan postcard isn’t the worse,” He says, “now the most important thing, please” I nod. Seeun gets even closer and places his head on my shoulder. I pull the single photo card, which is turned around. I start talking. “You know, just remember it’s okay if I don’t pull your photocard because at the end of the day I-” “Just look at it” Seeun whines. I turn the photocard around.

I feel Seeun drop his whole weight into the sofa’s back, letting out a sigh. Here we go. “I just don’t get it. Why Minjae, why him? Like. If it was… Okay no. I wouldn’t have been happy with anyone. But still!! Why him??” Seeun fake cried. “I mean,” I start talking. “You’re right, you do always pull my biases” Seeun stopped his actions and looked at me with a dead face. He then went to push me off. “Okay no, no, no, wait, no, I’m sorry, I’m joking! You’re my only one!” I laugh, and he stops trying to push me off and goes back to pouting. I lay fully on top of him. I start kissing his face. “I. Promise. You. Are. My. Bias.” He smiles. “Also, I bought an album the other day and I pulled you” I showed him the back of my phone, where a big smiling Seeun was looking back at him. He dropped his mouth and looked at me. “I couldn’t contain myself I’m sorry-” Seeun kissed me.

So, taking a bat to the canon timeline here for a second, how would Leon react to finding out that his crush/s/o was the trainer responsible for all times the world had to be saved bc some rich guy in a suit (or rich lady, looking at Lusamine) decided to terrorize the world with the power of a pokemon who has only been spoken of in legends and folktales? And at this point, they're just tired, they want to take a nap and have a good time exploring a region without all the drama.

I don't think I translated it being his crush/significant other very well. But here we go. You just being like "So this is my life." and Leon just being "Well...damn...aight."

SFW Leon: Over It

Leon could tell you were something special from the moment you two battled for the first time. It happened by change, in all honesty. He had been lost and you ended up being the one to find him. You had no clue who he was, but he could tell you were a trainer. You had that air about you, and he wanted to risk it all and just battle you...so that's what he did. Out in the wild area, just you two and your pokemon to bear witness.

Leon tasted defeat for the first time that day. You had swept his entire team with two of your pokemon. He was stunned silent before a grin broke out.

After that, he became a bit attached. He began asking questions and wanting to get to know you. You had started off being very reluctant to tell him anything, but overtime you warmed up to him. After he revealed he was actually the Champion of the region, you decided to reveal something about yourself.

"So you ever heard about the incident over in Kanto with Team Rocket?" You began asking him as you two walked the wild area together.

"Odd question, but ya. I recall my mom talking about the gang being taken down by some kid. They stole pokemon, right?" He asked and you nodded.

"That was me." You said, making him stop, "I had just turned ten and went on my pokemon journey. It was custom to do that when you were ten over in Kanto...a bit weird for other regions but that's how it was back then. I got roped up into everything and ended up taking down the leader."

"You...took down a criminal gang when you were ten?" Leon was in disbelief.

"Yup...and recall hearing about the battle of Hoenn? Where there were two groups that summoned legendary pokemon? One wanted to flood the world, while the other wanted to create more land?" You asked and Leon stopped.

"You did that too...?" He asked and you nodded.

"Yup. After the Kanto incident, my mom got worried and we moved. I wanted to take another crack at the gyms though, and she let me. I was about twelve when that went down." You explaiend.

"So you've taken down...three groups?" Leon swore you had to be joking.

"When I was fourteen I moved to Sinnoh, around the same time that the Team Galactic thing was going on. Fought them and Giratina was basically released and...well I almost died on that one. He was...terrifying." You explained and Leon stopped you, putting a hand on your shoulder.

"You can't be serious..." He said, almost looking sad.

"At sixteen my mom moved to live with our aunt. I really just wanted an adventure and decided to run off and do it, despite the dangers. Ran into Team Plasma who wanted to enslave the world. I did make a good friend though, his name is N. After that I was old enough to move around. Decided I wanted to study Mega Evolution and study under Professor Sycamore in Kalos. Stop the gym battling and everything, y'know? Wanted to throw myself in research...sadly Sycamore had a friend named Lysandre that dragged me into another unwanted adventure with Team Flare." Leon just stared at you.

"Finally I went on vacation to Alola and discovered Ultra Beasts and discovered Aether Foundation wasn't as benevolent as it seemed. Ended up helping a kid named Lillie out there. That was a wild adventure. Now I'm here though; Sycamore said that he wanted to go himself since I'm still his apprentice and learn about Gigantamaxing, but he had too much work. So he sent me." You said with a sigh.

"And now you're here..." Leon said and you nodded.

"Now I'm here. Was planning on just watching the gym challenges and maybe try one of those raid dens to see everything for myself after meeting Professor Magnolia...but then I ran into you and got sidetracked." You said with a sad smile. "Kinda just hoping to have a normal adventure for once."

"I can make that happen." Leon said, a sudden burst of energy coming over him, "I knew you were amazing but I didn't know to this extent...how about you do the gym challenge. If anything pops up, I can deal with it. That way you can finally just have a relaxed adventure." Leon said and you chuckled.

"If anything pops up?" You teased, "How bad do you think my luck is?"

"It's like my sense of direction." Leon was quick to respond.

"Ouch...but fine. I'll do the gym challenge and if any criminal organizations pop up, I'll call you to deal with it, aight?" You said, holding your hand out to shake on it. He took his hand in yours and gave you a firm shake.

"Let's have a champion time."

CHEAT SHEET/ EXPLANATION FOR EACH CHARACTERS' TEAMS UNDER THE CUT

Let's start with yuriko, her team consists of a gallade, a combee, a bisharp, a rookidee, a gothitelle and her beloved furfrou. Since chess is a BIG theme to yuriko's character, i wanted each pokemon to sorta reflect each piece in a game of chess (minus the king bc i ran out of room). Combee is the pawn because in chess: pawns are the weakest piece and are kinda there to protect the queen in a way, similarly to how worker bees in a beehive tend to do stuff for the queen (not to mention that pawns actually CAN become queens in a game of chess, similarly to how normal bee larvae can grow up to become a queen if fed enough). Bisharp and rookidee are the bishop and the rook for obvious reasons, gallade is the knight and gothitelle is the queen (though tbh i also partially chose those two bc in yuriko's usual form, she is a danganronpa fan character, specifically a celesgami fankid and i kinda associate those two characters with those pokemon...albeit with celeste it's more or less the gothitelle line IN GENERAL) lastly i chose a furfrou bc that's the closest i can get to yuriko's goofy ass dog, gambit.....there are no borzoi pokemon i'm afraid

Also ngl whenever i hear gothitelle's name, my mind immediantly goes to cottonelle and i can't help but think of emo toilet paper...

Next with makeighlyn: her team consists of a sylveon, a galarian ponyta, an indeedee, a porygon, a spiritomb and an absol. I imagine that since makeighlyn's whole lore is that she's a flash game mascot turned demon slayer, she was probably given a sylveon, ponyta and indeedee by her creators (the sylveon representing her pet cat, angie) but ended up finding and catching a porygon after she gained sentience; when she became a demon slayer, the souls of all the demons she killed formed into a spiritomb and she caught that too and lastly she caught an absol to sorta let the demons know she's coming since y'know.....absol is said to be a bad omen....also yes, makeighlyn IS wearing may's contest outfit, it was easier than just thinking up an original pokemon universe design for her

For myrtle: her team consists of a zorua, a cubone, a banette, jirachi, a duskull and a zubat. Tbh i didn't really put that much thought into her team, i just picked the edgiest pokemon i could find....though with cubone and banette i just picked them bc they're infamous for having really dark pokedex entries and are a common sight in the more horror-oriented side of the fandom, and also i picked zubat bc it's the first pokemon i think of when i think of team rocket (aside from meowth, obviously) typically i prefer not to include legendary/mythical pokemon whenever i give a character a pokemon team for the sake of believablity though i just couldn't resist giving myrtle jirachi considering how much it fits with her backstory (normally, myrtle's story is that she randomly discovered she had reality-bending powers one day and abused her power so much it caused a dimensional merge; though since this is pokemon and humans don't have powers, i feel it makes more sense if she caught jirachi and abused it's wish granting powers)

Lastly for renée: her team consists of an altaria, a castform, a smeargle, a snom, a munchlax and a bruxish. Tbh i only really gave her an altaria and a castform as a sort of callback to the fact that renée is a bird (though i had to make her human for the sake of this challenge), specifically a pigeon-cloud nymph hybrid; so i gave her a cloud bird and a weather creature! Since renée is more or less a 2014 tumblr-esque hipster (a bit millenialcore i daresay), i gave her a bruxish bc i've literally never seen a single person who likes bruxish (i personally don't really care for it either way but like....LOOK AT THIS THING!!! IT LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD BE HANGING OUT WITH THE BEATLES IN PEPPERLAND OR SOME SHIT)

Anyway, i also gave renée a munchlax bc tbh that pokemon SCREAMS millenials in 2014 tbh (like....fr you'd be hard-pressed NOT to find a millenial on the internet from that era making jokes about how much pizza and avocado toast they eat) i also gave her a smeargle to reference renée's love for painting and a snom bc....tbh i think snom is kinda overrated and i feel like renée would be the type of person to make that damn thing her entire personality so yea (also renée likes bugs so i had in incorporate that SOMEHOW)

Some random gladion HC's because he's the best 《3

♡ His clothes got ripped by his Pokemon accidentally during training, now however he rips all of his clothing purposely

♡ He's covered in multiple different scars all obed his body from training his pokemon, especially silvally when he was newly rescued, he's also got a few scars from his team skull days

♡ His Umbreon is a protector, and looms out for all of the other pokemon, whilst lycanroc is quite mischievous.

♡ His Weavile is cheeky and likes to mess with the other pokemon, Umbreon is always on their toes watching out for Weaviles pranks

♡ During the first few months after he ran away, he had only his Pokemon and no one else, he had no choice but to steal food/supplies from stores / trainers so that they could survive

♡ He always felt guilty about it but ultimately doesn't regret the choice to take in order to survive, he was very relieved when he first started earning money as a trainer, and always heavily tipped places he'd taken from kind of like a silent apology

♡ Team skull noticed his talent for thieving, as well as his strength as a trainer, and this is why they hired him

♡ Guzma and Plumeria, despite everything, are held in a high regard to Gladion because they always helped him out and welcomed him in their own way

♡ They knew the other grunts didn't consider him truly Team skull and they knew Gladion didn't want to be, but they'd always help him out even when he didn't know/ want their help

♡ Guzma fronted Gladion the cash for his motel room and even though Gladion insisted on paying him back, Guzma didn't want too

♡ Plums always sneaks extra food / supplies in his bag when he isn't looking

♡ When Guzma sided with Lusamine it really hurt Gladion, though at the time he played it off like it wasn't a big deal it bothered him greatly, at the time he knew he had bigger problems than Guzma's betrayal though

♡ When Guzma changed to help out in the end Gladions heartbeat finally calmed down and he mentally grinned inside his head

♡ His biggest regret is not taking Lillie with him and Silvally

♡ He saved some money up from Pykumuku chucking and bought a little necklace from a boutique for Lillie, he sent it anonymously to aether ahead of Lillies birthday feeling imense guilt for missing her birthday, but despite the anonymous card1 Lillie knew it could of only been from Gladion

♡ Overtime Hau wears him down to the point Gladion enjoys the midnight malasada bromamce dates

♡ He was always so lonely growing up, apart from Lillie, but they only had each other. He never got to experience friendship and never learnt to speak to people so he lacked confidence and people skills.

♡ When Hau realises Gladion actually considers him a friend now he sobs (literally everywhere) and he and Gladion sit on the beach eating soggy, tear stained malasadas

♡ Nanu always looked out for Gladion from the shadows, keeping him out of real trouble with the law, never revealing to Gladion he's the true reason he only ever got a slap on the wrist rather then juvy or jail time

- Oliver gives hugs from behind

- They met when Randy ran into the theater trying to outrun a swan

- Oliver has politely suggested to (threatened) Randy to stay in his apartment rather than the dumpster

- Oliver starts shit that Randy has to get them both out of

- After Randy started working at the funfair, they've had a lot more dates there

- Speaking of funfair dates, one time Randy had to walk Oliver home cuz he threw up after too many rides (they laughed it off later, dw)

- They got drunk one time and made a joke film together about Randy being a new person in Dialtown and Oliver showed him around. They still have the movie and sometimes show it off to friends despite how horrible it is

- After long days, Randy will hold Oliver and comfort him, and vice versa

- They're giant geeks. Oliver got Randy into DnD so now they play every Thursday night

- They share a pretty similar music taste, and Oliver got Randy into IDKHBTFM. They go to concerts together with bands they both like

- They both love pokemon and play the new games together when they come out. Randy is good with strategy and type match ups while Oliver is good at grinding and battling

- Along those lines, Oliver gave Randy a little Umbreon Keychain (umbreon is his favorite pokemon) and he's never taken it off of his keyring

- They go to lots of nerdy conventions together despite neither of them really knowing what's going on

- Randy steals blankets in his sleep, and that has led to their very few arguments bc Oliver gets super cold in his sleep

- Randy helped Oliver recover from his top surgery, and once Randy saved up for his own, Oliver returned the favor

- Randy sucks at cooking but Oliver is trying to teach him. On the bright side, Randy is good at making pancakes so it works itself out

- Randy collects random things he finds (bottlecaps, rocks, dice) and Oliver helps him with the collection

- Randy gets overstimulated easily and Oliver is the only one who knows how to help. Oliver is kinda like Randy's caretaker in a way when he has nightmares or gets stressed out/overstimulated

- Whoever wakes up first makes lunches for the both of them. Randy is the one who wakes up first most of the time, and he always leaves notes in Oliver's lunch. Oliver keeps all the notes

- When the movie theater was still open, Oliver would take Randy into the empty theaters after closing and they'd watch new movies together

- They borrow each other's clothes a lot

So anyway everyone's team and my reasoning. It's kinda long so click for more.

Ace Trainer, fought all the gem leaders and elite four Ran Mouri.

She got Bulbasaur, now a Venusaur, from professor oak. primeape. Fearow, Raichu, Clefable, and Slowbro. A decently well balanced Kanto team. She's never really had the chance to visit or catch other region's Pokemon.

Detective "Not A Trainor" Shinichi Kudo

Got a Charmander, now Charmeleon, from oak at the same time. Hasn't fully evolved bc they're too busy solving mysteries to train. An Umbreon that evolved when they stayed up late to read, and a Togedemaru he found in "Hawaii" Alola.

Sonoko Trainor and Coordinator.

She has an everstone Wartortle, received from prof oak at the same time as the last two, an Arcanine (hehe big dog) and A shiny Delcatty she was gifted by her grandfather. She does more contests but she often has to go to other regions for that. Kanto doesn't have its own contest circuit.

The Detective boys are Pokemon in their au but if I gave them ones it'd be

Haibara only ever had an Espeon. (Hehe parallels)

The other three detective boys all have baby Pokemon.

Ayumi has a Pichu

Mitsuhiko has a Mime Jr

Genta has a magbe

Agasa has a Mr. Mime

Rans mom has a persian but her dad doesn't have a Pokemon at all.

Now I think it'd be funky to make Osaka Johto.

Hattori is an enigma. His first Pokemon was a honedge. (Literally the chosan one Pokemon and a sword) No one knows what it was even doing in Johto. No it's NOT a literal ghost. It is a Duoedge now. His second was Heracross and he also has an Unknown Question Mark. (Literally the ? Pokemon) That's his team. He battles but like Kudo he's far too busy playing private investigator to get into battling. He can speak to Pokemon and keeps seeing and MEETING legendaries.

Kazuha is an actual Trainor

She's got a Smeargle, Scizor, Crobat, Lanturn, ambipom, and Granbull. (Yes it's a competitively viable Smeargle)

Now onto Magic Kaito.

Kaito is a Zoroark but "has" a butterfree. (They're friends :3) And kid has a bunch of pidoves.

Aoko has a Gyarados, and Machamp. She tried battles but decided it wasn't for her.

Akako has an Alakazam and spiritomb. (Witch)

Saguru has a Corviknight (I found the most extra galar bird. Something to really mimic owning a FUCKING hawk)

...just realized i left my introduction in the drafts. oops. at least i have a better photo now.

my names tula, and i'm a registered pokémon nurse with a horrible tendency to ramble. i live in unova and do some work here, but i mainly travel to other regions for this.

i am a former member of team plasma. former. my username is ironic because i cope with humor.

i ran away from home at age 14- it's a long story - and ended up being indoctrinated in. i, like many others, were lucky to have a sort of "snap to reality" moment after ghetsis' first arrest, before the formation of neo plasma, but not before i spent 10 years of my life working for him. many people are shocked by how open i am about my experience, but i think its extremely important to talk about these things: if i could help just one person leave this cycle, or keep someone from entering it, then it would make the shame worth it.

i have dedicated my life to helping pokémon, as a way to attone, i suppose. my darling solosis, mini, travels with me, though i must admit she's quite the spoiled brat. to have such an innocent creature love and trust you is the most healing experience someone can ask for, and i acknowledge that i was so very lucky. i had a home to return to, i was able to find work despite my history, and physically, i bear only a scar on my back and a missing finger... also just so we all know i am a natural ginger and i am not going to dye my hair please stop asking thanks

SLAWBO MANIFESTO

Have you considered Sabo/Law? Would You Like To? 👀

so. slawbo. which is the best possible ship name for Law x Sabo

it all started in 2018 when Ruth drew Sabo and was like “hey his hair looks messed up here bc I didn’t look at a reference and drew it from memory… what if it’s because somebody stole his conditioner?” (see below - and note the date!)

then it popped into her head, “what if it was Law who stole his conditioner?”

and thus, slawbo was founded B)

we took the idea and ran with it, and now it’s become its own thing

the more we thought about it, the more we were like, “this is actually a super funny and entertaining ship idea that would work well”

but also we have a pretty weird take on it so we made it into our own, basically.

because of its foundation on Law stealing Sabo’s conditioner (which remains an integral part of slawbo to this day), it’s pretty easily established that Law is The Annoying One and Sabo is The Annoyed One.

which is kind of opposite of how you would imagine their dynamic, if you know them as separate characters in canon – Law is generally ‘the straight man,’ especially around the Straw Hats, and Sabo seems like a mix between the responsible one (w/his brothers, sometimes, and as a Revolutionary) and the not-so-serious one – so therefore it would be the most interesting for their made-up dynamic if their typical canon attitudes were swapped

now over to Ruth for a POKEMON METAPHOR:

hey gang, Ruth here! as the resident Pokémon expert, I thought it might be fun to explain our slawbo dynamic using type effectiveness! per my illustration, Luffy’s personality is super-effective against Law, naturally (and unintentionally) irritating him. similarly, Law’s personality is super-effective against Sabo, who finds him super annoying (though Law exacerbates this on purpose, unlike Luffy towards Law). then, Luffy and Sabo don’t naturally annoy each other, because they’re brothers! when they annoy each other, it’s on purpose lol. hope this helped! alright, back to LJ

so in OUR slawbo dynamic, Law is the annoyer and Sabo is the annoyee. which is super fun!

it also allows for deeper exploration of their characters – what is it about Law that makes Sabo so reactionary? what is it about Sabo that makes Law want to press him for reactions? there’s a lot of potential in two characters having a dynamic with each other that they don’t have with anybody else

to be clear when we came up with slawbo, and this dynamic, we were NOT thinking deeply about it at all. we literally were just like “ok how funny would this be.”

so, to use an antiquated term: this is pretty much a crack ship

also, Ruth wanted me to mention that this is NOT something we do a lot. we aren’t really “crack shippers” and pretty much stick to canon/fanon (when applicable – we can be picky). we share a single brain cell so we usually have similar taste

so slawbo is special <3

back in 2018 when slawbo first came to be, I started writing what I now refer to as my “pilot slawbo fic.” it’s called “make me burn the candle right down” and it is based on the original slawbo dynamic we came up with at this time

now it’s a bit out of date characterization-wise (also writing-wise bc I wrote it over 5 years ago) but it still holds a special place in my heart, and in our slawbo canon

so then we have the series of fics I started writing in summer 2021. this is the “main verse” slawbo, the more polished version from the pilot version of 2018. the series is appropriately named slawboverse.

this verse chronicles them meeting and establishing a relationship. pretty straightforward.

it’s worth saying that this isn’t canon divergent or an AU – this takes place within the scope of canon, and we’re not changing any canon events (sorry Ace)

Ruth coined the term “canon enhancement”

there’s going to be a fic series written by both of us (mainly me, with a series of one-shots and a few supplementary fics by Ruth plus beta’ing), and art by Ruth posted to her art blog thirteenth-sword

currently slawbo can be divided into 3 major eras: pre-Marineford, post-Marineford/timeskip, and post-Dressrosa.

these mark major character moments for both Law and Sabo, and would thus shake up their relationship (like Sabo having amnesia at the beginning vs getting his memory back after Marineford, and Law planning his suicide mission to take down Doflamingo vs after Dressrosa when Law’s mission is over and he didn’t die)

so the series starts when Sabo is 18-19 and Law is 23-24 – pre-canon (and therefore pre-Marineford)

so Sabo is not as high up in the Revolutionary Army as he ends up being later, and Law is not as notorious and well-known as a pirate

this means Sabo has amnesia and an attitude problem, and Law has a plan for vengeance and also an attitude problem

more specifically, Law, when we meet him in Sabaody in canon, is a smirky, rude bastard. he’s not as serious, and doesn’t have that “straight man” quality that we see post-timeskip. we view this change in character as a combination of him being closer to the zenith of his suicide mission and being around a bunch of insane idiots who defy all logic (the Straw Hats).

put that together…BAM. magic. ultimate game of gay chicken

also we love and respect aroace relationships but these two fuck nasty. btw.

after Marineford, their dynamic definitely shifts. Sabo suddenly remembers his past, and also Law saved Luffy’s life, which adds a whole layer onto everything. and the fact that Law was THERE, and Sabo wasn’t… oof

a similar dynamic shift occurs after Dressrosa – Law basically planned to die taking Doflamingo down (not in an angsty way, just in a matter-of-fact sense – he essentially thinks he was supposed to die of Amber Lead when he was younger, but Corazon saved his life, so now he’s alive in order to avenge Corazon by killing Doflamingo – which is going to be so difficult that he’s just accounting for his inevitable demise to occur here. so when he survives, Law is like “oh damn this wasn’t really in the plan”)

so a big part of their pre-Dressrosa dynamic is based on Law being like “fuck it we ball, who cares if I mess with this guy and flirt with him and stuff, I’m probably gonna die in the next few years, yolo.” which is an attitude he doesn’t have towards a lot of other things bc he has to Keep It Together in order to fulfil his vengeance mission, but his relationship with Sabo doesn’t really have any overlap w/said vengeance mission, sooo…

bonus note: Rule Of Cool may not apply to The Slawboverse, but Rule Of Funny absolutely does. if something if funny, regardless of whether or not it might be inaccurate, we will include it (within reason, obviously)

some small details to establish!!

Sabo is taller than Law. fuck canon. imo Law’s growth was stunted a bit from the Amber Lead and Sabo is a beanpole

Sabo has more extensive scarring than in canon, all on his left side (see art for details)

Law has skeleton-patterned vitiligo BUT it’s on purpose lmao. I like to think that he had extensive depigmentation from Amber Lead even after it was cured, so he used his Devil Fruit to move the affected patches of skin around so he’d have a cool skull pattern, because he’s a dweeb

Law also has Raynaud’s and Celiac disease

Sabo has blue eyes (left one is slightly paler from the explosion damage) and Law has golden eyes like in manga canon

Law wears black nail polish always because. gestures to him. also he wears Converse, despite the brand not existing in the One Piece universe. doesn’t matter, he’s so Converse-coded that somehow the multiverse warped and found a way to get them to him

they are both Schrodiner’s Transgendered: are they trans?? perhaps. both have dicks and could have transitioned via Iva (Sabo) or Ope-Ope surgery shenanigans (Law). we’re leaving it open/ambiguous bc it's not really a focus of the series

Sabo defs went through a phase when he was a younger teen where he was hyper aware of his amnesia and would often jump to conclusions about strangers like, looking at him slightly longer than socially acceptable bc he’d be like “do they know me? Did they know me?” He’d be overly fixated on what his life was beforehand and do a lot of research on Dawn Island and would spend hours imagining what it would be like to meet somebody from his past. This stops rather abruptly – after a while he comes to the sudden and stark realization that every time he thinks “hey, this person might know me, which would fill some unnameable void inside of me because they could tell me who I am so I don’t have to figure it out for myself!” it never ends up being the case, so he quickly forces himself to stop thinking like this at all, which results in him slingshotting the other way for a while – where he refuses to even acknowledge his amnesia or the possibility that he might have people out there who knew him or cared about him before. So that is something we plan to explore in his relationship w Law!

another aspect of him kinda ignoring his amnesia would be that he feels like he’s exactly where he needs to be with the Revolutionaries – so even if he did have a life before his amnesia, it can’t be something better than where he is now.
