Just curious, what’s your feelings on each season of TDI? I’m sorry if this has been asked before, I was looking and didn’t see anything. Favorite, least favorite? How do you feel about 2023 in comparison to other seasons?

here's my preference from favorite to least:
World Tour, Island, Ridonculous Race, Action, 2023, Revenge, Pahkitew, All Stars
I really really like the new season so far. It's definitely not... AMAZING, but it's way better than i thought it would be. i love the new cast, the animation is nice, and i liked most of the challenges we saw. it's such a shame they're cutting into half seasons instead of one long season.
all stars sucks. the cast they chose was garbage, the decisions they made WITH the cast were garbage, everything about this season was garbage. well. it had some funny parts. but it was mostly garbage. the only reason pahkitew is above it is because at least pahkitew didn't assassinate the personalities of our beloved characters. also i love shawn and jasmine.
RR was one of the shows that got me through a really shitty time in my life, so i'll always be SUPER fond of it, even if i didnt agreeeee with some of the choices (cough forcing noah into a romance cough). it was a really refreshing new format with REALLY INTERESTING CHALLENGES!!!!! also i love Don. fuck Don haters. we love ALL total drama hosts in this household. ALSO THE BLAINELEY CAMEO IN THE FINAL EP. SHE AAAAATTTTEEEE. i would be soooo so happy if they ever decided to do RR again
also i do like what little ive seen of total dramarama. its not something i would like.... watch unless im trying to pass time at my job... but i think its a cute show and can be pretty funny at times. baby duncan and cody are definitely my favs in that show.
world tour and island are nearly tied for first place. island just has this raw, deadpan humor that isnt matched by ANY season, not by a long shot, but world tour has Alejandro Burromuerto AND music. i am a musical theatre nerd AT MY CORE!!!! i used to listen to the soundtrack for world tour obsessively. i still know pretty much all the words to every single song.
revenge is a season i havent actually rewatched recently, but i do love the cast from it, especially mike cameron and zoe's friendship (basic, i know). i used to be a huge scott/dawn shipper too. Action is also a season i dont really watch or think about. but it's definitely still one of the best. i am deffo going to need to rewatch it before i write ANY trent fic.

i really hope the next season of 2023 has damien in the finale two, and i hope we see wayne and raj split into different teams. GAh theres so much i want to see them do that they wont HAVE TIME FOR!!!! DAMN YOU 13 EPISODE FORMAT!!!

Whats this? You ask? Silco Might not have been shooting to kill?
Lets begin
If you havent watched Georgia Dow’s youtube video “Therapist Reacts: Silco & Jinx” uh... why not? go do it.. its soooooooo good.
Watching her video a while ago and the scenes she paused got me thinking more. As per usual i will put a SPOILER WARNING and a read more break to protect those who havent finished the show!
So, Georgia Dow is a therapist and releases videos analyzing characters in popular media. She is doing arcane and so far has released an analysis of young Jinx and of the relationship between Silco and Jinx and it pretty much aligned with exactly what I gleaned from their relationship except for a few slight deviations here and there, particularly, how she interpreted Silco shooting at Vi at the tea party scene.
It is important to note that in the comments section of her video, Georgia did respond to a person who said they saw that scene differently and posed that he was not shooting at Vi for selfish “kill the bitch” reasons and she agreed that another run-through or a few could change her mind and she would watch again with that alternate interpretation to see if she thought that was more fitting.
The way she would pause and replay certain small clips and describe things in them really got me thinking even more about that scene and I've come to a new conclusion.
I don't think Silco was shooting to kill.
Think about that scene. like, seriously, go re-watch it and pause it a lot if you can.
Silco knew that Zapper was on the table in front of him for a while. But unlike Cait, he didnt immediately go for it. He trusted that he was safe in Jinxs game and she needed to have it go this way to figure things out. He was facilitating the fantasy in the environment she needed to feel comfortable addressing her problem. After watching that scene TOO many times like ME (cuz i am a crazy person) you can even interpret what he is saying while the mask is still on.. sorta.
Anyhow, Silco seems pretty comfy tied to a chair until Cait gets things heated up. Then he looks with concern at Jinx and to Vi, almost telling her with his eyes “stop this”. But, he still doesnt struggle against the ropes because he has confidence his daughter knows how to fight and she is armed.
Silco only begins to struggle when Jinx starts having a psychotic episode at Vi’s hands. Flashes of the scene show him struggling his hardest, visceral, feral, attempts to get freed to protect his daughter all while yelling “shut up!” at Vi and “dont listen to her” at Jinx. He knows whats happening.. he can see her mind attacking her.
After several good hefty struggles against the ropes, he FINALLY grabs the gun. He takes a few moments to aim... staring down the barrel of the gun.
Now, look, Silco isnt likely to be the best fighter. But you dont get to rule the undercity and chem barons and run a drug operation and be a criminal overlord without learning how to shoot a gun.
(oh! haha, ok, new addition and total side not derailing from the topic but wouldnt it be cute if Silco had a gun Jinx made for him and drew all over and gave a name to and it was like.. his most precious gun?)
*clears throat* ANNNNNNYWAYS
So, big ol’ scary crime lord has a gun... and is aiming at a target 10 feet away from him... who is restrained in place. with no cover to speak of.
that... that doesnt miss. you would have to be the worst shot in the world to miss. If you pause and go frame by frame in the scene as the bullets are flashing, you can see that in the gun flashes it shows Vi being shot at. BUT, her chair is not swiveled yet. she is just barely ducking her head. So her swiveling the chair did nothing to help her avoid a bullet.. she was too slow.
“well maybe Silco missed” is what someone is going to say right? No, i dont think so. Do you see where the bullet hole is in Vi’s chair?
Now lets look what her positioning in her chair was while yelling at Jinx and putting her through mental head jail yeah?
Do you see how EVEN IF Vi would NOT have leaned down or swiveled etc it STILL wouldnt have killed her? It still would have missed? This is a fricken straight on view of that chair.
I always found the fact that Silco shot at Vi odd but originally dismissed it as desperation to help Jinx, even if it meant killing Vi in front of her. but that didnt fully sit right with me.
I still think that helping Jinx was the motivation but I dont think he was shooting to kill anymore. mind you, I *do* believe Silco *wanted* Vi dead. Vi posed a threat of taking away his daughter and i dont think he ever would have let that sit well with him. But i think that he also knew how much Vi meant to Jinx and would never kill her, especially not in front of Jinx. And even not sneakily... because if Jinx ever found out, he knew his relationship with her would be destroyed. Both in life and in murder, Vi had the power to take his daughter from him. And i dont think Silco ever would have risked that... he loved Jinx too much.
But in this tea party moment, I think he was shooting to scare. Just close enough to her head to frighten her into shutting the fuck up so Jinx could have some breathing room to calm down.
If Silco was aiming to kill, she would have been dead.
The more I think about this scene in the context of Silcos relationship with Jinx, the more that explanation makes sense to me and fits better. Its the missing piece for the one question that didn't sit right with me... "why kill Vi in front of Jinx"
In fact, i dont think Silco ever tried to kill Vi after she returned.
Silco NEVER ordered Vi dead.
Sevika tries to kill Vi in their fight. Then tells Silco about what happened.
Scene ends.
Next we see in that story line is Jinx with the bartender who says "boss wants us to grab someone up". grab, not kill.
Then Silco finds Vi in the ruins of their old home injured. He has two goons with him. Neither have weapons drawn. Silco does not have weapons drawn.
The deformed Shimmer addicts rush towards Vi unarmed, but Silco never gives any direction to them. I think in their crazed state they think grabbing her or killing her would please him and get them more Shimmer... and who is he to stop them? he really doesnt care about Vi’s fate. If some druggies kill her, all the better for him. And then he cant be held accountable by Jinx for what happened.
But nothing here shows intent to kill, likely he wanted to capture her. Lock her away so she absolutely cannot get to Jinx. Dont get me wrong, i do think he wanted her dead. I think his knowledge of Jinxs yearning for Vi is what prevented him from acting on that.
The only other things we see are Vi's second fight with Sevika in which Vi initiated and had intent to kill and I'm guessing Sevika as well but that was not on orders. If it were on orders, Sevika would still be out looking for Vi, not relaxing in a bar.
And then the tea party.
Silco never expressed intent to kill Vi after her return. He just wanted to intervene and keep her away from influencing or hurting Jinx.

Hi Clyde 👋🏻 So Ive been watching as your response posts come thru about RWBY and you obviously know alot about it. As someone who knows nothing at all about it, I was wondering if you could explain it to me. Supernatural I get. Jupiter Ascending I get. Even that Jar Jar Binks post floating around Tumblr (if you havent seen it yet, it’s probably a good thing) I get, but RWBY im still sort of having trouble getting up the interest to watch. Is it worth it?

Ah, is RWBY worth it. That there is the million dollar question. Not to give a copout answer, but I really think it depends on what you're looking to get out of the show. Our beloved JA and SPN are great comparisons because they're both extremes too. They're doing something really interesting that succeeds in captivating its audience... and then, arguably, faceplant when it comes to a lot of basic writing expectations. SPN far more-so than JA imo, just due to being a 15 season show vs. a 2 hour movie. Though not quite of the same caliber, RWBY has a lot of the same whimsy and creativity. A sort of, "Go with the flow not because it necessarily makes sense, but because it's fun." Or, as the RWBY fandom puts it, everything follows the "Rule of Cool." If you like JA's awkwardly delivered "I love dogs" you may also like the awkwardness of Ruby eating cookies by having them disappear when they approach her face. The self-awareness that RWBY had in the beginning — we're a low budget webseries created for the fun of it with lots of ridiculous gags and flashy action — feels, to me, similar to the self-awareness of JA: "We're a film that's going to take a 13yo girl's fantasies very seriously, right up through getting an angel-wolf-alien as a boyfriend." There's even a lot to be said for RWBY's similar motivations: a girl power story, a focus on the action (with Monty's fantastic choreography), meant to be progressive in particular ways, etc.
Personally, I really love the first three Volumes of RWBY. They're ridiculous, badly animated at times, and mishandle a racism allegory like whoa... but they've got a lot of heart. They're fun. They're enjoyable in that "Turn your brain off" manner. The basic premise is that a girl with silver eyes gets into a Huntsmen Academy two years early — a school that trains young adults to battle the monsters that populate their world. She's set up as the pure hearted hero with the mysterious power via her eye color. She gains a team of three other girls who must learn to work together as they navigate school and a coming war. Everyone has crazy outfits, crazier weapons, and at one point there's an epic food fight battle that I've watched on Youtube too many times. It's playful and has just enough worldbuilding to spark the imagination; just enough solid characterization to get you to fall in love with the cast. If it were the summer of 2016 I'd recommend RWBY wholeheartedly as the webseries equivalent of a beach read.
The problem is that things #happened at the end of Volume 3. No spoilers, but suffice to say things got intense during that finale, thrusting the show into a very different era. Suddenly, the show wanted to take itself seriously in a way it never had before... so many in the fandom, such as myself, started taking it more seriously too. We had higher expectations for the show since the show itself was egging those expectations on, tackling sensitive material and talking up the impact of their work. Yet, sadly, these expectations weren't met, with the problems becoming more pronounced with each new Volume. The retconning added up. Certain characters were done dirty. The allegories got really offensive. RWBY's idea of feminism became warped. We've got a ship that many consider queerbaiting at this point. Morals are all over the place and there's no longer a consistent message to the show... it's a lot. The sort of "It's a lot" that we might say about SPN too. Fans are right to point out the laundry list of bad writing choices and offensive content strewn across SPN's 15 seasons. Fans are also right to point out the many aspects that kept its audience hooked despite all that. Same with RWBY. Me? I think RWBY is a very badly written show now... but I enjoyed it enough, for long enough, that I'm still invested enough to see it through. Meanwhile, others don't see anything wrong with the writing at all. They've hailed the last two Volumes as the best to date, with even better work to come. There's a pretty intense split between those who critique the show and those who insist on its near perfection.
So I suppose I'd recommend it, just because I'm not confident in giving a definitive "Lol yeah this is trash" condemnation. Not just because there were things I did (and at times still do) love about RWBY, but because my interpretation, quite obviously, is subjective. I can't ignore that those of us who critique the show are the minority. So statistically, if RWBY ends up being your thing, you're probably more likely to enjoy all that the show has produced thus far — within reason — than you are to have a falling out with it. I think overall there's enough good in RWBY to give it a shot, especially when, depending on how you approach your shows, that good might still be there for you 8 Volumes later. Just go in knowing that, if you enjoy the first 3 Volumes, you might be severely disappointed down the line.
The other upside though? The initial episodes are very short! So you can try a couple out without giving RWBY too much of a time investment.
(Also, side note, but WHAT Jar Jar Binks post?? Oh god I'm scared lol)

Bonsai {AkiRai}
A/N: using a gif cuz im lazy BUT i needed to get my emotions out because these two have been giving me the biggest brainrot lately and I cannot stress enough just how much i love them. I BEG if you havent watched the show yet you should definitely check it out, it’s only 12 episodes but it’ll get you in the feels. anyway i’ve talked long enough, hope you guys enjoy this one!
Summary: Akihito has been put in charge of taking care of Mirai’s bonsais. He fails to properly take care of them, ruining all of Mirai’s hard work. How will she get her revenge?
Word Count: 1.6k (under the cut)
“You’re so unpleasant!” Mirai wailed, storming out of the literary clubs room. Akihito ran after her, calling her name.
“Kuriyama, I’m sorry! You know I’m not good with plants!”
Mirai had been sick for the past week and away from school, so her bonsai in the literary clubs room had been left in the care of Akihito. Akihito had been left with minimal instruction due to Mirai being the one who normally takes care of the plants being sick, Mitsuki being absolutely no help, and Hiroomi being too interested in Akihito’s underarms to assist.
So, as a result, he had over groomed, over watered, and just overall ruined Mirai’s bonsai that she had spent months taking care of and making sure were in top condition. She had also spent most of her rent money on them in the first place, and she was more than upset knowing that she would have to buy more now.
“I don’t want to talk to you, Kanbara!” She whined, tears burning in her eyes as she ran up to the rooftop, the place where she had first met Akihito…
It seemed like so long ago, when Akihito had first seen Mirai standing on the rooftop. He had predicted wrong what she was planning, but still he ran up to the bespectacled beauty to try and talk her out of it.
“Someone who looks as good in glasses as you simply must not die!” He had yelled, fists clenched in determination as he watched the strawberry-blonde turn her head.
“How unpleasant,” She had muttered dryly, jumping towards Akihito. Before he could even react, he felt something pierce his chest, and when he looked down there was a sword made of blood stabbing him.
He felt pain searing through his chest, but he still managed to will himself to speak, clenching the sword with one hand.
“Can you do something about this sword, please?” He asked, a small grin on his face.
Mirai had looked at him with a mixture of shock and horror as the immortal boy only chuckled to try and off-set the pain. Yes, that had been how they met, and slowly they had managed to become friends, and now they were something even more.
Mirai shoved open the door to the rooftop, holding it shut behind her as Akihito tried to force it open.
“Please, Kuriyama, I’m really sorry! I won’t do it again, I promise!”
“You won’t do it again because I’m never speaking to you again! Never ever ever!”
Akihito managed to push the door open and squeezed through onto the rooftop, Mirai already running away from him again. Akihito grabbed her wrist and held on as she tugged, trying to escape him as he begged for her forgiveness.
“I’ll get you new bonsai, then we can raise them together!”
“I don’t want to raise anything with you, Plant-Killer! You murdered Risa and Kenichiro!”
“You named your bonsai?!”
Mirai finally shook her wrist free of Akihito and pushed him, knocking him over. As he fell backwards he grabbed onto her again, pulling her down with him.
They fell down, Mirai on top of Akihito as she immediately sat up, staring at him angrily.
“How unpleasant!” She wailed again, her signature catchphrase having been stated many times in the literary club already. Akihito sighed, rubbing his now sore head as he was about to speak another apology to her, but when he opened his mouth all that came out was a surprised yelp.
Mirai angrily dug her fingers into Akihito’s sides, scribbling around as he threw his head back, laughing loudly as she attacked him.
“K-Kuriyahahahahama! Dohohon’t! I said I was sorrehehehehe!”
“Save your apologies, Plant-Killer! They mean nothing to me!” She yelled over Akihito’s growing laughter as she now dug into his ribs, rubbing her knuckles in them in the way she knew drove him absolutely crazy.
He squirmed beneath her, squeezing his arms against his sides in an attempt to squash the sensations, but only ended up trapping Mirai’s hands in one of his more sensitive spots. He was smiling widely as laughter poured from his lips, panicked and loud.
Mirai continued to pout as she tickled poor Akihito, her anger far from vanished as Akihito cackled beneath her, squirming to try and get out of her grip. He threw his head back and shook it around, kicking his legs and digging his heels into the ground as she continued to messily scribble along his ribs, creeping up closer to his upper ribs as Akihito squeaked.
“Kuriyama! Not thehehehere!”
“You deserve it and you know it!” Mirai exclaimed indignantly, digging her hands under Akihito’s arms, making him screech unflatteringly as he squeezed his arms tighter to his sides, trying to block out the sensations but only managing to trap Mirai’s hands in his worst spot.
“StahahaHAHAHAP! Not thehehehehere, plehehehease!!”
“You’re so unpleasant!” Mirai blubbered, her voice breaking. Akihito was too busy laughing his head off to try and comfort her, but he desperately wanted to. He knew how upset she was, all he wanted to do was to tell her that he was going to make it up to her, but with her currently tickling the living hell out of him, he wasn’t able to do much.
It wasn’t like tickling was new in their relationship. Ever since Mirai had found out the other part of the reason why Hiroomi always stuck his hands under Akihito’s arms, she had always used it when she wanted to mess with Akihito.
That said, Akihito had recently discovered that Mirai was just as ticklish as he was, and it had helped him get out of certain situations with just a few pokes and an exclamation of “How unpleasant!”
With a ridiculous amount of willpower, Akihito managed to move his arms from his sides, flinching a few times as they desperately wanted to clamp back every time Mirai scribbled harder or delicately pinched the sensitive flesh. He reached up and grabbed onto Mirai’s sides, making her squeak. Still laughing, Akihito squeezed his hands, successfully making giggles pour from Mirai’s lips.
She retracted her hands from his body and used them to try and pull his hands off of her own, squealing as she turned from side to side, Akihito sitting up after catching his breath.
“Kaha - Kanbara! You’re beheheing-”
“What? Unpleasant? Well, I’m gonna keep being unpleasant until you forgive me,” He said, a small smirk on his face. He rubbed his thumbs into her hipbone, making her squeak and double over with high-pitched, girlish laughter.
“Hehehehe! Plahahahant-Killer!” She repeated, and Akihito only chuckled, making her whine.
“Dohohon’t laugh at me!” She howled, throwing her head back when Akihito started to scribble his fingers over her tummy, spidering over the sensitive torso.
“Forgive me, Kuriyama~?” He said in a whiny tone, only making Mirai giggle more at his antics. She laughed and shot her hands back at Akihito, tickling under his arms again as he choked on a laugh, crumpling forward slightly and squirming as laughter started to spill once more from his own lips.
“I’ll nehehehever forgive youuuu!” She declared, laughing brightly like a small child as Akihito laughed with her, creeping his fingers up to her lower ribs where he knew he would get a good reaction. Mirai jerked, more bubbly laughter filling the air around them as her own tickling on Akihito weakened, her upper arms now clamped to her sides, which made it difficult to tickle Akihito.
“Juhuhust say it!” Akihito laughed, and Mirai shook her head. Akihito began to knead her lower rib cage, making her positively squeal as she fell forward, leaning against Akihito as she squirmed madly, pulling her hands away from Akihito again to try and keep him from tickling her.
Akihito panted as he continued to knead her ribcage, rubbing his thumb in circles as her laughter grew in volume and pitch. She wasn’t expecting the tables to have turned as they did, but she probably shouldn’t have expected any less of the half-youmu who was currently tickling her to pieces.
“Alrihihihight! I f-forgive yohohohou!” She finally exclaimed, having had enough of the tickles on her ribs. Akihito stopped, smiling softly at her.
“H-How unpleasant,” She said quietly, and squeaked when she felt another poke at her side.
“Let’s not look at it in a negative way, now you can get some new bonsai and we can raise them together,” Akihito offered, and Mirai blushed, turning her head as she took off her glasses to clean them, a nervous habit of hers.
“It’s easy for you to look at it in a positive light, Plant-Killer,” She huffed, and Akihito sighed, though he couldn’t fight back the amused grin on his face.
“Is that my new name now?”
“Yes.”
Akihito chuckled softly, watching as Mirai put her glasses back on and adjusted them with her thumb. Akihito shyly pecked her cheek when she finished adjusting her glasses, making her face heat up as she sputtered.
“Y-Y-You! Don’t do that, meanie!” She whined, pounding her fists against Akihito’s chest as he laughed.
“Alright, I won’t,” He said, a lilt in his tone that made Mirai suspicious of him even more. “Can you get off of me though? We can go get more bonsai now if you want.”
Mirai quickly got off of Akihito, brushing herself off as he helped himself up, rubbing the back of his head again that was still somewhat sore from the previous fall. He reached his hand out to Mirai, who looked at him hesitantly. He smiled gently at her, the smile that he knew she would never be able to refuse, and she took his hand.
“Do I get to name one of the bonsai since we’re gonna be raising them together?”
“S-Stop making it sound like we’re parents! And no, they’re my bonsai so I get to name them,” Mirai huffed, and Akihito snickered.
“Our bonsai.”

the hell is mystreet season 6??
(warning, long post ahead)
ok so before i start this
1) ive never posted shiiiit on tumblr before so watch me suffer, im just here to talk about stuff that my friends who dont know anything about aphmau have to listen to me rant about for hours on end
2) i havent seen mystreet in like years (except season 3, i watch that frequently since im laurance and shadow knight deprived) so please bear with me because i might be completely wrong on this lol. it’s just like, pointing out things i remember
3) im sure someones already talked about this but who cares
4) im gonna do this stupid thing where i just explain myself a bit at first, if you dont want to read that just skip to the part where you see “the actual thingy:” in bold and italics
5) mild disclaimer; i am completely aware that jessica is not a professional writer. i know that she did her best to appeal to her fans, and honestly, respect for that. while this post will come off as aggressive and probably look like hate, that’s not my intention in the slightest. it’s just... intense criticism. im sure y’all probably already know that, but yeah, just stating that anyways. i do believe that jess is doing her best, and in no way do i want to dismiss any hard work she’s done. that being said; prepare for a very strongly opinionated post.

ok here we go
one of the main reasons i stopped watching aphmau back in 2017 was the mess that was season 4. like, in the first few episodes of the emerald secret, i thought “woah!! this is kinda cool, im a sucker for mystery!” because of course i was, it was something new and something exciting. the only problem i had with it at the time was kim, but that’s just because i always found her annoying and out of place. i just didn’t understand why garroth dragged her along and honestly i still don’t to this day BUT, moving on.
anyways, as the season progressed, 13 year old me was of course just “:0!!” the entire time--that is, up until the reveal of the main villain. i remember watching the episode, seeing the reveal of ein, and then stopping. like, just for a quick break, but i was still just overwhelmingly disappointed. like, and this was the time when pdh was airing and ein just got made alpha (i think?) and i had really really liked eins character in pdh. either way, that really sucked and actually opened my eyes to a lot of things.
one of the main things bein’ the fact that this was supposed to be a slice of life kinda series that decided to take a turn to a more edgy kinda approach. which, i guess i regularly wouldnt mind? but seeing as mcd was kinda bein neglected at the time it just didnt sit right with me. BUT WHATEVER, point is i stopped watching mystreet all together at the end of season 4.
like, a whole year later my brother tells me that shit’s getting intense in season 5 + 6 of mystreet, and my brilliant self decided to give it a shot--but i refused to watch all of season 5, so i only stepped in when ein made an appearance. so whenever that was, that’s where i picked up because i didnt care enough to see
and y’know--i honestly didn’t hate it at first. in fact, i found it oddly cool. it wasn’t enough to get me into aphmau again, but it was enough to where i was intrigued. i dont know why, but i never watched the finale, so i didnt see the ending until just a few weeks ago--but back then, i thought it was neat. looking back on it however... im just so confused.
side note: only got back into aphmau this time around because of mcd. mainly because like, i adore the first season and the first half of the second season. and being nearly 18 now, im a lot more appreciative of plot and well-written characters n junk.
the actual thingy:
ok back on track. imma stop spilling out my story of how i got back into aphmau, and lets just skip to what rewatching mcd made me realize of season 6′s plot and shit:
-emmalyn. how the fuck does ghost even remotely exist? if she’s emmalyn as claimed, then why have we already seen emmalyn in the mystreet universe alive? look i get that creators can do whatever they want with their stories but at the same time please provide some sort of explanation good god. and maybe they did and i just havent seen it, so if there is one--let me know. but until that day imma just sit here confused as fuck
-ok so imma just be real, the whole ‘ultima’ thing is just... not great. in my opinion, anyways. like... i saw someone mention this in another post, but if this ultima stuff was like, a really big deal, why isnt it mentioned in mcd? though i suppose since its a curse of sorts, it could be later on past the time period in which mcd takes place--but even then, how did it manage to make its way into aaron’s family bloodline?
-WHY IS EVERYONE AT STARLIGHT ITS JUST SO CONVINIENT like what happened to this place being the most expensive shit on the planet or whatever, and how the gang happens to run into like, the werewolf trio and blaze and kai and guy and nate all of these people like god damn life doesnt WORK LIKE THAT
-im sorry but turning people into relics? thats... thats the best you could come up with? plus, like, how does that even work? in mcd it’s established that relics are separate entitles that choose their wielder, based on a ‘personal’ connection (being a descendent of a previous wielder) or if they’re a good match personality and (i think?) moral wise. so the whole turning-people-into-relics doesnt make much sense to be honest.
-irene really over here using her god powers to only keep her friends alive like god damn not a great god if you ask me
-can i talk about how incredibly predictable aphmaus death was? like i just kinda sat there waiting for it to happen and when it did i literally went “haha! wonder when she’ll be revived” because god forbid we actually kill off characters
-when aphmau + demon warlock fought in the irene dimension there was no passage of time whatsoever in the real world whiiiiiiiiich really bothers me because they fought in there for at least a few minutes
-speaking of aphmau and the demon warlocks fight does it bother anyone else that it had to be aaron who took over the fight?? like we get it hes the big protector blah blah blah but god damn it wouldve been cooler if aphmau had fought this battle as her. aaron fighting this battle was so underwhelming
-...love. like, thats the only thing thats needed to break out of a forever potion? love? LIKE YEAH, GOOD GUYS GOTTA WIN SOMEHOW, but its just so cliche and overdoneeee
-oh yeah and also when travis went bonkers and became the demon warlock or whatever, why’d he only take over katelyn and garroth?? like, zane had been influenced by the potions in the past as well? DONT GET ME WRONG--i do love some good brother edge, but uh, the demon warlock was just bein kinda a dumbass by not possessing zane too just sayin’
-can aaron please go to fucking jail for mass murder now like holy shit, he just got sent home on a fuckin boat. also why did blaze forgive him for killing him thats not even remotely realistic. then again, nothing in mystreet has ever been realistic when it comes to characters and motives and personalities, (cough katelyn being actually abusive and travis being an actual pervert) but yknow whatever
-katelyn and kawaii chan literally added nothing to the plot whatsoever. like lets be real, katelyn lost her personality the moment season 5 started and kawaii chan just kinda sits there :I
-ok im sorry this was bound to come up but cmon guys imagine laurances potential if he was in season 6 like god damn this is beyond maddening. AND YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A REALLY REALLY COOL PARRALLEL?? IF IT WAS LAURANCE WHO SNAPPED GARROTH OUT OF HIS MIND CONTROL THING, because it would mimic laurance’s speech to get garroth to snap out of his rage in season 1, episode 100 of minecraft diaries. like how fuckin rad would that have been? missed opportunity
-also?? why does kim/ghost know magicks?? like, if i remember correctly, emmalyn is a scholar--not someone who knew magicks. i mean, i guess research? study?? but its been established that knowing how magicks works =/= being able to use magicks. i dunno, just doesnt seem right i guess. maybe its explained, i wouldnt know (yes i know that makes me look like a dick leave me alone)
-melissa should have stayed dead. LIKE, NO, ITS NOT AS SIMPLE AS “haha it takes more than a few bullets to kill me”??? look ive got nothing wrong with melissa (cough lie cough) but yknow it would have just been cool a character... stay dead? for once? its just too fuckin cliche that shes alive god damn
-can i also just say the only good thing that came out of season 6 was travis’ dads sacrifice like damn that made me actually sad
-howww was lucinda turned into a relic. or yknow, anyone else? like im sure they explain it better in the actual show i just dont remember, but its just that easy? turning anyone into a relic? granted, a normal person wouldnt be able to produce a good relic, but idk man. IM JUST SAYING; that the only really powerful relics that aphmau should have been able to wield is the one that aaron + zane produced because shad relic and esmund relic moment. lucinda isnt even like, connected to a divine warrior. ALSO, another point, if its seriously that powerful of a relic getting one from just a magic user like lucinda, why go through the trouble? i mean i guess ofc youd want the “all powerful” one that the ultima produces but i mean damn whats the point
-ok this is just going to bother me but in one of the episodes (i think might have been in season 5 actually) where that like, guardian dude was chasing aphmau and zane and at one point they split up and the dude just chuckles at zane diverting paths and goes under his breath “youre not the important one here”, suggesting that aphmau somehow is? first of all, id argue that any ro’meave is significantly more important than aphmau was, especially not knowing much about her other than that shes with aaron. i might be missing some bits an pieces, but if i was that dude id forget about aphmau and go after zane
-killing off derek for shock factor sucked, and i know the moment was supposed to be really sad because like “oh :( aarons dad is sacrificing himself for his son” but lets be real dereks still was a shitty father and i dont think his reasons for doing what he did was very good at all
-less about plot or more like: why the absolute fuck did the gang bring kim along instead of, oh i dont know, a life-long friend? like, laurance or dante maybe?? im sure its explained, i never saw aphmaus year or most of season 5, but god DAMN id hate to be apart of this friend group AND GOD LIKE, imagine reconnecting with an old friend who ends up getting closer to your best friends and taking priority in their lives over you (cough laurance) like god damn lol
-im just going to preface this one with: i dont remember everything that’s happened, so if im wrong i apologize in advance--but (you actually can correct me if im wrong and please do) didnt like, irene reincarnate her friends in order to give them better lives? I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE, ITS JUST WHAT I REMEMBER--however, if im correct, then:
a. why the hell would she bring back someone like zane, or gene, or ivy, etc.
b. why the hell do they all have the same exact names? first and last? again, im aware that the whole mystreet+mcd tie wasn’t originally supposed to be there, but i dont think that means such a coincidence can be excused? its just a bit much if you ask me.
c. why the hell is the fact that (as much as i literally hate this) aaron is a decedent of shad being ignored? like, you’d think that something like this would be something thats actually important, or something the demon warlock couldve taken advantage of. or are we completely erasing every other connections to divine warriors besides aphmau + irene? because even if irene did reincarnate them or do whatever it is she did, does she even have the power to sever the connections between them and their ancestors? my guess is, no.
d. speaking of irene why on earth was aphmau able to talk to/see irene, they’re literally the same person are they not? did she like, fuckin reincarnate herself without actually doing it?? BUT--i will give it to them, the demon warlock did refer to aphmau as something along the lines of being “one of the 3 parts of her broken soul” or something like that. however, my point still remains. also what are the other two did i miss that or is it never explained
now; if irene in fact did not ‘reincarnate’ her friends then please ignore that little bit right there :)
but yes, those are a few of the problems i have with season 6 off the top of my head. i would go into like, season 4 and 5 more as well, but i honestly didnt feel like it. at some point i might go into other things, like how important laurance could have been to the plot of these later seasons, or HELL, even dante. i might also go into what could have made season 4, 5, and 6 actually good--maybe... a rewrite? perhaps? but im getting too far ahead of myself, so i just leave you with this for now.
and i know that as soon as i post this 15 more things are just going to pop into my head BUT im going to try and not edit this post because why stress myself with that even more

“can’t send a man to his doom without getting drunk first” he’s trying so hard to fit in. poor bastard. and not calling the others out for excluding him? you can just tell he’s trying so hard not to ruin it for everyone, and nobody even gives a shit. and then of course he eventually snaps, he’s just spent over an hour having to watch everyone have a great time and forget about him, and then alex suddenly expects him to have bought mike a gift, and they fucking tell him to stop being so selfish and god those fucking assholes
god the conversation where may-li tells charlie about her grandad. it’s so beautifully acted, emily burnett sells the denial perfectly, it just,, ow
this episode is hard to watch when you have really strong empathy and project onto both ryan and charlie. h e l p
wow charlie really just delivered a baby in a car in the middle of the woods huh. i keep forgetting how absolutely badass that is
you know what absolutely kills me is the vague suicide subtext to ryan running away. take that goddamn phone conversation out of context and that’s what it is and that’s the worst part of all of this. and chloe saying that he’s left a note and that “i think he’s really gone for good”. o u c h
the fact that NOBODY EVEN NOTICES RYAN’S GONE EXCEPT MIKE AND CHLOE. even tyler doesn’t fucking notice. and then everyone cares more that mike’s gone to find him than that ryan even left in the first place. but we’re not meant to think about that because tracy’s here and everything’s absolutely fine right. this episode is murdering me can you tell

i havent watched my mum tracy beaker yet but i really need answers on how it fits timeline-wise into the tsotb/tbr/tdg canon
the fact that chloe isn’t even wrong when she says everyone would hate ryan even more if they found out mike isn’t there ‘because of him’ (read: because he quite literally had a breakdown and ran away and mike, being the only decent person in this goddamn show, went after him)
ah yes tracy, care worker of the year, really just said ‘your problems don’t fucking matter, forget that anything’s wrong because mike is getting married’. i love tracy but wow that is not the thing you say in this circumstance and the only reason it worked was because he felt bad about the cake and whatnot
this episode has such an all over the place tone. they really just went from mike freaking out to fiona figuring out he’s gone to a damn slo-mo shot of tracy and mike on a bike while ryan sprints behind them.
oh my god i forgot bailey was in this episode!! i hate him (affectionate)
this goddamn episode is so full of emotions i almost threw up oops. anyway it absolutely kills me that ryan looks like he’s about to cry pretty much the entire time. that poor kid. and then chloe really just pulls a tee and apparently loses all empathy towards him huh. love chloe but wow
i don’t think we get a chance to read what ryan wrote in that note? but i kinda wish we did. could’ve given some extra insight into everything
i have no idea if any of this is coherent, or how much of it is an actual analysis and how much is me projecting but oh well, this episode(s) is a fucking emotional trainwreck, what can you do

Yes!! Once again proving that Tyler is the only one in the DG who actually cared about Ryan and wanted to be around him. He was pissed at Alex for not inviting Ryan like he was initally supposed to, and then took it upon himself to make Ryan feel included anyway.
That scene really pisses me off, because Alex really is going after him. You can tell, he won't let Ryan make a single joke without trying to be snarky about it, and then he purposefully tries to humiliate Ryan because he knows that Ryan couldn't possibly have known to bring a gift.
Oh yeah, I can barely ever rewatch the first part of the wedding for all of these reasons, but especially for Charlie finding out about her grandad. Emily really is way too good of an actor, that's why it's so painful.
I relate way too much to the strong empathy and projection, that shit hurts so bad.
Yeah!! Charlie did that!! Honestly, credit to her because I would not have been as calm as she was on a normal day if I had to deliver a baby in a car in the middle of nowhere, never mind after everything she had been through that day.
Okay, so you found a way to make Ryan's whole storyline of those episodes hurt way more than it already did. Thanks for that. But you are right, it does have that vague subtext to it. If this wasn't a children's show, I would've actually been worried that's where they were going to go with his storyline.
It does suck that nobody really noticed or cared that Ryan wasn't there. I wish even Tyler had shown a bit more concern, but I suppose they've only got enough time in an episode for so much.
That was definitely one of Lily's fruitiest moments, and that's saying a lot because of the aforementioned "a day in the past" flashbacks. Honestly, all of her scenes with Carmen and some with Tee are always fruity, there's nothing else to it.
Okay, so, I can kind of answer that one. My Mum Tracy Beaker definitely carries on from The Story of Tracy Beaker since it involves clips of it when Tracy sees Justine. However, it's only really connected to tbr/tdg canon through vague hints. Like, Tracy has a published book called "Who Cares?" and there's a mention of her being an ex careworker, and she wears a "T" necklace but it's slightly different from the one that she wears in the wedding episode. So, we know there are subtle references to TBR through these background details that are really just glossed over. There is a weird little moment when Tracy's daughter tells Justine that Tracy wrote a book, but Justine should already know that considering it was a big part of their reunion in Tracy Beaker Returns. At best, we can at least assume that everything that happened in TBR is canon for My Mum Tracy Beaker. I feel like, if we want to be able to make the timeline for the wedding add up with My Mum Tracy Beaker, we'd have to assume that Tracy hadn't already had Jess during the wedding. Since the wedding takes place around 2018, and Jess is 10, My Mum Tracy Beaker would have to be set in 2028 at the very least, and that would have to mean that Tracy had Jess the same year as the wedding. Either that, or she did already have Jess but just... never mentioned her because she was staying with Cam.
It really does kill me that Chloe was right about that, because you'd think at least some of them would have some sort of sympathy for Ryan. I wish Tyler did. Honestly, he had a genuine breakdown and ran away, and no one cared except Mike. Great family they are.
Yeah, that was not Tracy's best moment, but... that's just Tracy. She doesn't think, she acts on what she believes to be the best solution in that very moment. She was never exactly an aware winning care worker in all fairness skjdashd but Ryan definitely needed to hear something other than that.
I could barely be sad or stress during that episode specifically because of how chaotic it was, and ESPECIALLY because of that slow-mo that had no right being so damn hilarious.
SHFKDASJDLK "I hate him (affectionate)" well at least I'm glad the (affectionate) is there lmao. But I was screaming when I realized Baily (and Liam) were there, I was so happy!!
Oh yeah, Ryan looked so upset, he was absolutely blaming himself so badly. There was no need for Chloe to come in there "wish you'd run away for real" like fuck off. I love her. But fuck off.
I don't recall actually seeing the contents of the note now that you mention it.
Yeah, don't worry, I'm not sure most of my reply to it is coherent either. But those are episodes are some of the most fun to analyse because Drama and Angst.

S4e10 is the first time i want to actually rewatch an entire episode of handmaids tale.... ok wait second time - was it the new “ofglen” who blew up that important building with all the commanders inside and the handmaids outside - that ending was great
But omg
First off elizabeths moss’s acting!!! Ive gotten too used to that same dreadful look shes been making for the past couple seasons that... the wide range of facial expressions really surprised me and it just!! Wow
the suspence the whole episode. Nothing EVER goes right in this show. I knew what i wanted to see but i fully expected fred and serena to go free and happy. That back and forth feeling was super engaging
I loved that even though there was that tension between june and moira before, moira jumped right back to trying to fight and doing all the screaming and ranting for june - someones gotta do it and june was too mentally exausted
K like im still confused why everyone can go in and out of the waterford prison so easily and was like.... dooooo they want june to kill him?!?!? Why are you leaving her alone???
And i was so excited like yesssss shes gonna kill himmm - well first i thought she was gonna go to serena and kill her baby
But when she was walking around that room... like a cat pretending not to notice the mouse in the room - we just know june too well to think she wasnt at least planningggg something
Also fred is fucking DISGUSTINGGGGG as usual. Lying during his ... conference like WHY are you just gonna beleive this psycho at face value?!

When the girls first ran up to fred i thought they were gonna surround him and reinact that “shame” thing they used to be forced to do. I mean i guess they did without actually saying it cause they definitely killed him the way gilead forced the handmaids to kill people in the first season

omg some tng thought dump bc i havent shot anythin in the liveblog tag for a whilst now <3
- i literally have barely watched ANY tng this month bc of exams :( and am sooo sad bc of it </3 but ALSO bc my focus is through the window & i need to find sth to do with my HANDS whilst i watch but i cnt rlly think of anyhting right now grr grr bark arf arf so hmm to solve later

THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH EP 9, My Appreciation and How It Made Me Feel
The other person Gon would like to see first is Lady Noh. I appreciate all actors working in this series because they have a good chemistry with all characters involved here. Im a fan of Gon and Lady Noh relationship, reminds me of my grandmother. She is always so understanding but here when she says she knows everything, later we will found out that indeed she knows EVERYTHING. I love how she says (while looking at the flute, also the camera doing blurred shot to show the flute then Lady Noh was great) that she understand that Gon try to fulfill his destiny and this will be secret between both of them 🥺 The production team also have a good sense of connecting the mood with the music, because here we can here Maze as backsound and its match perfectly
Gon finally confront LSD, i have 1 fav line said by Gon here
Gon “How could you when you dont even have the guts nor the caliber?”
Damn this gave me chills. He is angry. And he arrested him.
Next we saw KSJ off duties to stay away from this mess and clear his heads. As i said before, i somehow found the relationship between this police and bar owner was special. They like enemy but they understand each other and the bar owner has somehow empathetic towards KSJ. He let KSJ used the place for a few days and served him nuts. KSJ still refusing the money though. The guitar sound makes me feel soft for them 🥺

JES did not even know that JY to Gon is as sincere as him to his siblings 🥺 also at the end of this scene JY actually worried what happen to JES, both doppelgänger has share some emotional connection 🥺
Gon is having a yearly review with PM. This whole scene was hilarious first of all we got to saw bored JES which is funny, then we saw PM crossing the line once again by asking when will Gon get married and she being honest of wanting to be a queen. Thank god Gon said he already proposed to someone 😎
One of underated scene in the series. Because in this conversation despite of being cute and soft (and the kiss too omg), we actually being told a very important information about time inside the in between 0 and 1

Gon continue his actual work to see all the security footage as he is try to locate LR. Instead he saw this cctv record written coming from 27/05/2022 . With JTE and yoyo boy in front of a book store, and as creepy as it gets, the yoyo boy inside the cctv are looking to Gon eyes suddenly, then we thunder came and create pain on Gon shoulder
Cracks also continue in LR side. LR knew about KSJ visiting Gon doppelgänger cinerarium. And inform that the police that visit the care center before is JTE. JTE now also looking for the 2G phone. Here i think LR assuming that the enemy side are now know what is LR doing and try to investigate it more. I love how finally LR realizing the cracks
LR “KSJ, the wrong move i made. JTE, the move i did not make”
Why KSJ is the wrong move he made? I assume because he took him to Korea while he is a child and did not even teach him or at least try to keep him close and made him a bad guy? Child has potential to develop a character which will be going againts him when he grow up and it is now kind of look like that and in liaise to that move he did not make, JTE, both ksj and jte are connected in a family like relationship. Which what makes KSJ now.
Gon was looking for the bookstore he found at the cctv record. Ho pil did not found it anywhere. Instead we got to see Prince Buyeong visited the bookstore ahead. Seriously i love this transition from Gon scene to this scene because its connected and im totally shock. And keep thinking, why prince buyeong could came to this non existed book store
Then we came to this heartbreaking conversation between 2 man speaking about fate and all going towards the new year. What a deep deep words, magnificent cinematography, incredible color, Maze as the backsound. PERFECTION.
LG “Uncle, do you believe in fate? People usually tell fate to move aside and challenge it. Should i fight againts it?”
PB “You can never know what happen in life. But if there us a place you want to reach even if your life may be at risk, this is fate. The footsteps you take by risking your whole life is whats fate. Is there a place you want to reach?”
LG “yes there is”
PB “then you just have to go there. You dont need to fight. I hope there is a beautiful lady there”
LG “if i find this solution, i will visit you again with a woman who argues that the earth is flat”
PB “yes, i will be waiting, pyeha”
Then the sunset came, i cried. Not gonna lie.
This scene is a whole new level up for this series, i love that its also very poetic. Well done.
New Year is coming. Time stops. LR is in Corea. Walking very chill on the street, little that he knows. LG already recognize his FACE. LG need to thank JTE because he suddenly remember what she said “Then if you’re in there, you wont grow old” 😱
I love how we got to see them going pass through each other first before they both facing each other. And the music!!! And the way Gon cries “TRAITOR LEE RIM” . Standing applause 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
How it made me feel:
Wow. What an episode. At this point im shock on how its getting darker and darker. I thought it will be some kind a usual romance story but it was more than that. KES really took it to another level. Also i remember before i watch eps 10, i rewatch eps 7-9 once just to keep track on what is happening and also try to see better whether i missed anything. It was so fun. Also i realize that the editing was getting better and better. Every scenes keeps getting me attached and also making me feel deeper emotion to it. Whatever message or feelings that they try to convey, conveyed well. Salute 🍷 Also the acting and chemistry from all the characters were great. I cant even say any words, i haven’t found anyone even with a small role acting bad. I need to also give applause to the casting director.
What makes me extremely curious probably whether KSJ will be bad or not. Last time i doubted Prince Buyeong, but until eps 9 i can safely said that he is on Gon side. I put my faith in him crossed my fingers. But how about KSJ? He is still running away. My heart pumped. Back then i think “Thank God eps 10 is just tomorrow” i havent really acted like this to a series for a long time, but 2020 gave me dark and tkem. Both are similar yet very different, both are amazing.

i know the ending had to be rushed because instead of the usual 13 episode seasons AS decided to drop genndy to 10, BUT i started thinking about the daughters of aku and boy do i have some things to say writing wise, and no this isnt about “realism” but just how to make their presence as a unit more impactful or how to make ashi’s character development better as a temp antagonist to jack, spoilers below if you havent finished watching samurai jack
Option 1: Have the daughters of Aku be raised by Aku.
Some people have already suggested this as a cute AU, but to be honest that would strengthen the daughters bond with Aku more than just having hearsay through their mother. And since Aku does have emotions, isn’t afraid to spread propaganda onto children (the fairytale episode), and is building a kingdom that encompasses the universe, that would’ve been a great alternate to Jack’s stance, where instead of fighting just some assassin troupe he’s technically fighting an assassin troupe of princesses when he was once a prince whose own kingdom was destroyed by their father.
The bonds between the sisters would be tighter in that they respected their father both out of fear and the time they spent with him because he would’ve told them all the lies they needed to hear for them to trust him, he would’ve taken moderately good care of them(basic provisions), and he would definitely let them wreak havoc where ever they wanted without suffering consequences as long as they didn’t fuck up his own shit. “Mindless drone sisters except for one” doesn’t stick for long when it comes to guilt about murdering them, but “rebel girl gang who trusts their father and has many reasons to think you’re genuinely the bad guy” definitely would.
To not just have Ashi yelling at Jack, but all of the sisters shit talking him out of vitriol. Throwing his guilt back into his face. “If you’re so great, why couldn’t you save them? If you’re so good, why did you kill them?” Have Jack have to deal with his guilt inside and outside from a group of women who were indoctrinated to believe everything their father said just like Jack was and then really make him question what’s the difference between him and them? His father could’ve done all the same things telling him what’s evil and what isn’t. Yes, he still knows Aku is evil, but this train of thought would be humanizing them even further to the brink where Jack isn’t sure he can kill any of them. Cause it was “easier” when he could believe they didn’t have any emotions except for one (Ashi) but much more impossible when he has to accept that they all do. “They’re just robots.” No, they’re not. They’re just like you, Jack.
Option 2: Some sisters don’t die.
Make the killing blows accidents. Going with their canon way of being raised, have Jack still understand that they’re people, and make the killing blows reactionary instead of functionary. He doesn’t want to kill them, but he’s so used to fighting, he’s so used to defending himself that the weapons he grabs and the attacks he does manage to hit the vitals of a few of the sisters while the rest he leaves mortally wounded or physically incapable of fighting. If they’re really raised as machines to kill him, this would leave them useless to complete the task.
Then have Jack, as he’s leaving the scene of carnage have to witness the sisters who can move crawling towards their fallen sisters, trying to hold back bleeding wounds, scraping through the reddening snow in an attempt to show compassion for the one’s whose lives are fading away.
And then have Jack make a choice. He could leave them there. Some of them might make it, but probably not. Even if they all did, they wouldn’t be able to chase him any more. The wounds he inflicted on them would prevent them from fighting as they used to unless they got a fuck ton of physical therapy and/or robotic prosthesis. Or, he could do the same as he did with Ashi in canon and take the survivors. Teach them about the world. About Aku’s lies. About what he’s really fighting for, and let them make the choice on their own. Because they never had a choice before, but now they do, and let it be overwhelming and confusing. Let them make mistakes, but let them learn from it. They don’t all have to make the right choice at the end, but they shouldn’t have to die for it. Show the conflict and correction from sisters who did make the right choice and let them be.
Option 3: None of the sisters die by Jack’s hand.
Same as option two, but Jack doesn’t kill any of them. He saves the ones who need immediate medical attention, teaches them, and lets those sisters go back to the ones he only inhibited. The saved sisters try to pass the rhetoric they learned only to be deemed weak and now they all have to fight each other. It can be to the death. The evil sisters who refused to change or learn would die, Ashi wouldn’t be by herself. They’d all have to come to terms with what they’ve done as some either go to fight Aku with Jack and Ashi, while the others leave so they can stew in their guilt of killing their sisters.
Option 4: Get his ass!!!!!
Have Ashi actively resent Jack for killing all her sisters. No, I don’t care what half-assed explanation Ashi gave to her mother, you don’t get raised with 6 other people and some of them NOT form of bond between each other when you’re all working towards the same goal. Especially when they had to function as a unit! Her mother wasn’t Aku, she didn’t see everything they did as soon as it was bedtime for 20 something years.
I want this to be a chip on her shoulder, I don’t want her shifting the blame of everything onto her mother. Yes, Jack was going to kill everyone and only Ashi survived, but why didn’t he do the killing blow for her? Why didn’t he try harder to save any of the other sisters? Why did he go for the kill shot every time instead of just mortally wounding them to prevent them from fighting if he knew they were humans and not robots? Isn’t he supposed to protect people? Isn’t he supposed to save people? Like yes, still have her learn the world is a wonderful place and Aku is making it worse, and still have her go to fight Aku for the sisters she’d lost, but don’t have her fall in love with the man who killed the only family she’d ever known before being thrusted into an unknown world and then have a sexual awakening on top of that??????? WHAT???????
Would've been better having Ashi see things and think of memories of her sisters that connected her with them through said images or objects, and then going through the process of mourning for each one before the confrontation with her mother.
Option 5: Have Ashi fall in love with Jack first. (Best One for Romance)
Can we say scouting missions? The daughters of aku were displayed as being curious through scenes when they observe unusual behaviors to the new environments they’re scouring through. Have them hunt Jack without the efficiency of the imakandi, and learn about the world on their own. Ashi is the leader so she’s responsible for finding Jack first, but that leaves the other six to sharpen weapons, get supplies,etc. They do need to eat and sleep as they’re still human. Then they have to interact with people, and animals, and nature and learn on their own. Have them hear stories about how great Aku is, and how awful Aku is from a variety of the people they have to meet from these supply runs or leads towards Jack that turn out to be false.
Make them argue with each other about what’s true and what isn’t from what they’ve heard of Aku. Show a struggle of acceptance when the strangers they talk to present proof of how “Great” or “Awful” Aku has been. Let them make the decision on what being human actually means WHILE Ashi is scouting and watching Jack do all these good things for innocent people, and then have her come back to settle any confusion ready to say their mother is wrong only to be interrupted by their mother telling them Jack’s location before Ashi can get the words out.
Even sweeter if you have Jack notice when he’s alone versus when he’s “alone” (ashi is watching), and he talks to her. It starts with things like “if your intent is to kill me, I ask you to reconsider” then changes to “if you’re hungry, i’m leaving the excess here, help yourself” until its “your killing intent has long since vanished, do you wish to speak to me finally?” because Jack is already used to randos turning into traveling companions (blue totoro, da samurai, scotsman, ikra) he can accept the stalking to an extent as long as it doesn't escalate negatively.
After their mother’s message, the sisters find Jack, but they struggle to fight him not out of lack of skill, but because they know so much about the world now, and they’re not sure what to believe anymore. Let Jack see their hesitation and capitalize on it with his words, until Ashi puts her foot down by taking Jack’s side. Since she’s the leader, and with all they know now, they choose to follow Ashi’s word. They then proceed to travel together and tease tf out of Ashi about her feelings for the samurai.
Final thoughts:
Any of these options excluding 4 since it’s more canon streamlined, could be much more easily done by having the first half of the series being about the sisters development flanking Jack’s turmoil plot, and the second half being about the daughters making mistakes and learning from them as they build towards the final fight which becomes much more badass in that Jack’s friends are fighting anywhere from 2-7 daughters of aku in that cool evil form with all the evil robots.
The relationship of the daughters of aku was more of a pacing issue than a writing issue, but I think if they focused more on the fact of we’re going to watch a family die over a lie instead of “they’re all mindless and only ashi has emotions” their deaths would’ve hurt A Lot more. Ashi’s development would’ve been more meaningful, and Jack’s guilt would’ve been much heavier. However someone wanted their hashed in romance so I guess this would’ve stuck a sword in their well-made plans.
Not to mention the idea that the daughters were the only people Jack killed over the span of 50 years makes it ring more out as shock value killing. As if there wouldn’t be non-robotic aliens or non-robotic humans or non-robotic human-alien hybrids who wouldn’t 100% follow Aku of their own violation? Nah, we’ve seen them, and we can see what privilege does to people. Plus if they had privileges that would be taken away by Aku’s downfall...well...I don’t think Aku was the only one asking for Jack’s head on a platter.

So tumblr ate the ask of course, but @multi-fandom-remy (I hope this was you that requested this my memory is not good and if it wasnt I'm sorry) sent a fic request where Janus has alexithymia and Remy falls for him regardless. Gonna just post it this way, suck it hell site!
I had to do some research for this as I dont know anyone who has this and I dont personally experience it. I tried to write it as accurately and respectfully as possible but please let me know if you feel I wrote it wrong or in a way that's offensive.
Three Times Janus Didn't Understand and The One Time Remy Did
Summary: Janus has alexithymia and doesnt understand what hes falling for; Remy is perfectly content to teach him.

Remy's head snapped up as the bell above the door chimed loudly, letting in a rather peculiar character. Dressed in black save for bright yellow gloves, their long trench coat swept around their ankles as they turned to make sure the door was shut. Truly curious now, Remy leaned forward eagerly, excitement thankfully hidden by his dark sunglasses.
The glasses did little to hide his reddening cheeks however as the newcomer swept off his hat and turned fully to face the cashier.
Oh. Remy leaned forward casually trying to hide the flood of oh-I-am-most-definitely-gay panic rising up through his chest. Sharp eyes breifly met his before darting back down as they made their ways towards the counter. Thanking every god that could possibly be real that the shop was empty at this time of day, he smiled easily as they came to a stop in front of the counter.
"Morning coffee. What babe will it be?"
The stranger snapped their head up in confusion, giving Remy only a split second to retain that their eyes were very pretty, one a pale brown and the other almost gold before his brain caught up with what his mouth had just uttered. Red cheeks reddening even further he closed his eyes and mentally slapped himself over the head with an industrial bag of coffee grounds.
Opening his eyes once again, he chuckled. "You'll find me dont discriminate here. We got flat white, Irish cream, long black." He cupped his cheek and smirked. "Or maybe you're the shy, straight vanilla kind of guy?"
The stranger, to his credit, was unimpressed, almost making Remy pout if it weren't for the fact he was still trying to scrape his pride up off the ground. "A mocha with five espresso shots please."
Whistling low, he turned to complete the order. "I'm assuming to go?"
"Yes."
"Late night?" He grabbed a cup and fiddled with the machine a bit, turning to grab the pump for the espresso as it began to run.
"In a sense."
Snorting, Remy turned to look again at the stranger. Through his obvious good looks there were eye bags that could rival his room mates', slumped posture and rather ratty shoes completing the picture for him. "I always hated college exams. Theres never enough time to cram."
"We've all bean there."
Pausing in applying the lid to the cup, Remy smirked and turned. "Did you just-?"
Seeming uncomfortable, the stranger shrugged, taking the drink and handing over the money. Offering a quiet thank you they left quickly, coat flying out like a cape behind them.

Janus shoved his hands deeper in his pockets on the way to his favorite coffee shop. He had only been going there for a week now, but the coffee was amazing, and the cashier/coffee maker was...interesting. Janus' cheeks still burned in what he now realized was second hand embarrassment at the way the other had flirted? with him the first day. Patton said he had been flirting so he'd have to trust his friend knew what he was talking about. His stomach gave another uncomfortable flip as the shop came into view, making him grit his teeth in annoyance. Everytime he came here the same thing happened with his intestines, like they were too tight and too loose at the same time, flipping his stomach around in a way that felt like the flu...but better? Regardless it hadnt started until he had begun coming to the little shop and Janus was determined to pinpoint the cause. That was why he kept coming back.
No other reason.
His stomach flipped again as he shoved the door open, grimacing as he made up his mind to buy some kind of pastry with his usual coffee to try to quiet down what he was now going to assume were hunger pangs. This early in the morning the shop was blessedly empty, allowing him and the cashier to have their odd conversations in relative peace.
"Morning babes!"
He glanced up and tried for a smile, letting the odd movement drop after only a couple seconds. Remy smiled and smirked enough for the both of them anyway.
He made his way up to the counter, startling as a to-go cup was pushed his way.
"Regulars get the Remy special. Their usual cup of hot coffee ready before they even come through the door." He winked as he leaned against the counter, hitting Janus with the realization that the man had apparently forgone his sunglasses for the day. Deep brown eyes stared back at him before he broke eye contact, snapping his gaze to the cup in front of him.
"I'd like a muffin with it today as well, if you would."
"Sure. What kind?"
Janus looked up hopefully. "Banana nut?"
Remy bit back a laugh, muttering 'nut' under his breath while retrieving the requested pastry. Rolling his eyes Janus dug out the cash; he was learning Remy was fond of unintentional innuendos, Patton pointing out that that had been what he was insinuating in their first meeting. He tried for a polite smile again as he grabbed his items after paying, stomach going it's odd flip again as the other man smiled back.
Maybe it was the air.

Remy perked up as the door chimed, smiling as his favorite regular made his way through the door right before closing time. He had somehow gotten the rather shy man to agree to a date (an outing the other had insisted) taking place after his shift had ended. He seemed tense and Remy was determined to take his mind off whatever it was that kept his shoulders up and head down. He grabbed up his sunglasses as he hopped over the counter, earning a confused smirk for his effort. Smiling easily, he readjusted his bag and whipped out the store key to swing around his finger.
"Ready to go, tall, dark and snarky?"
The man merely ducked his head and shoved his hands further in his pockets, strolling quickly out the door for Remy to follow.
"So I realized we're going on this date-"
"Outing."
"Alright babes. So we're going out and I still don't know what to call you?"
The man stared blankly. "You call me things all the time?"
Sighing in exasperation as the Prompt went completely over the man's head he gestured them forward. "I meant your name hon."
"Oh! My name is Janus."
Tilting his head in surprise, Remy regarded him for a moment. "Janus. I like it. Really suits your aesthetic."
Janus seemed unsure of how to respond, scuffing his toes along the sidewalk rhythmically. "My aesthetic?"
"Yeah. Janus is a Roman god right? I can see it."
Offering up a blank look, the other man pursed his lips in thought. "No one...well usually people say that Janus is...an odd name."
Remy shrugged. "I took some course or other in high school that taught about ancient gods or whatever. People are bitches."
Moving away slightly, Janus nodded. "Undoubtably."

Janus watched as everything seemed to click into place for his companion. This was always the tipping point in every relationship, friend or otherwise. Patton had been the only exception thus far that accepted the fact that Janus was a lost cause when it came to emotions.
No, that wasnt fair to himself. There was nothing wrong with him, he knew that. It was only the fact that he couldn't understand the emotions being processed. He knew he had them, he just could never quite pinpoint which ones, at any given time and what the reasons for them were. Sure it made socializing difficult, people often labeling him as awkward or withdrawn in any given situation; when in reality he just was rarely given enough time to try and pinpoint what one emotion was before being put in a situation where a different response was needed. It was honestly exhausting.
He bit his lip as he looked back over to Remy, seeing that same smile he always gave him that made his stomach flip every time. He tried offering one of his awkward smiles, feeling that that was the most appropriate for the situation.
Remy softened as he took off his glasses, turning to face him fully. "You dont have to do that around me, it's okay. Just be yourself, and tell me if and when you get uncomfortable yeah?"
Janus' eyes filled with tears as he twisted his fingers in his jeans. An intense wave of emotions came over him, making him choke slightly as he tried in vain to process everything. He felt Remy take his hands gently and squeeze them, tugging slightly as he unconsciously leaned towards the other.
Just two people sitting on a park bench in the late evening, with about 15 shots of espresso between them holding each other with a confused understanding. Janjs smiled, a very tiny one, but the first genuine one in a long time.
Despite everything, he had Remy. He knew he'd be okay.

first of all i want to say i love your blog and i love reading ur analysis because they're amazing so this is not me being an anti i just want to clarify something about the fandom. its not that they dont believe those bellarke scenes arent romantic, they believe it is 100% they just dont trust jason or believe that he will make them canon after all that. and i know ur going to say they already are but i mean canon like confessing feeling/kissing cuzz they're can be a build up for so long (1/2)
(2/2) before it gets to dragged on. it already feels organic for them to already confess their feelings but they still dont. and thats what the fandom's problem is they think the writers had a lot of opportunity to make them canon already in an organic way but still havent so they think they will never deliver. even now bellamy and clarke are separated still. we prob wont see bellamy himself until ep 7 or something (thats speculation though)

Well I don’t have any patience for people who think what’s on screen isn’t happening.
That’s the story.
It’s not baiting.
It’s story.
Bellarke have ALWAYS had separations and that’s not new and it’s not different, it is the pattern of their relationship.
And these people who are just bitter are simply no fun to be in a fandom with.
They don’t trust JR? So what? He might not follow the story. Some showrunners don’t. And when that happens it’s not the end of the world. you find a new show to watch. They act like he’s public enemy #1 and that’s not fair. To condemn a person BEFORE he’s done the thing they imagine he’s going to do.
Because so far he HAS followed the story. The people who felt betrayed by CL weren’t paying attention to the story. Those of us who did KNEW what was coming down to the the episode she would die in. And now, he’s wrapping up storylines and bringing ships into their endgame territory and reuniting the delinquents and we’re finding out about all sorts of sf stuff, and he’s going to answer all the questions and tell us all what it means after all.
But they don’t trust him because he didn’t follow through on promises he NEVER made. The CL stuff was NEVER the story. It was NEVER going to be endgame and she was always going to die. Whether that was a good decision or not is irrelevant, that’s the story he set up. And they ignored it for their imaginary Lxa Show.
I have been called delusional so many times in this fandom for the very great sin of sticking to the text.
Meanwhile, a large part of fandom makes up a story out of whole cloth and tells everyone that what’s on screen isn’t happening and because it’s not what they predicted, it’s bad and JR is evil. And then they accuse him of not doing what he’s doing on screen.
I never understood this, that people can point out where Bellarke is shown on screen as romantic, and THEN say JR isn’t making Bellarke romantic.
I mean. If you SEE it on screen then he’s making it romantic.
But they want the money shot, right?
They don’t want to put up with the story that builds the romance, they just want to jump to the end.
AND
They harass everyone who still believes in bellarke, still loves the show and thinks JR is a decent writer.
I know you’re defending fandom because you have warm fuzzies for them, but a lot of those people are the ones who send me those nasty anons and talk about me in group chats and stalk me for their queen bees.
So I dont’ give them the benefit of the doubt anymore. I used to.
and that didn’t work out well for me.
You know what? I think fandom is too obsessed with JR. They have really made him enemy #1 and this has affected how they see the show, but to be honest, JR shouldn’t come into play at all. He’s irrelevant to our experience of The 100. All we need is the actual show to know what’s going on.
Instead, they’re making it all about JR and how evil he is.
It’s a game that is dumb.

Tepi Watches The Terror Ep 1.
alright so here’s the first in a 10 part series ig. always been tangentially aware abt the Terror and i know 3 things. 1) based on real ppl 2) there’s a monster!!!! and 3) Hickey is gay evil rat man. so i didnt know much. but i DID know that when i watched it i’d probably like it a lot so i put it off waiting for the Right Time. Now is that time.
Let’s start with episode 1 . . .
