How many holes does a straw have?

See I’ve seen this debate before but I don’t remember what side I agreed with, so I’m just gonna list possibilities.

It has one long hole. This is reasonable to me and makes sense. If there’s a pit in the ground it is one hole. However, if I were to count the holes in a regular pair of pants, I’d say three, and pants are much closer in shape than a pit in the ground.

It has two holes. This is my gut response. This also seems to follow the same logic as a pair of pants having three holes. You could also argue that there are two sides to enter/exit from, and thus two holes.

It has infinite holes. I hate this one. The idea is that at any point in a straw you can slice it and have a hole. But slicing it changes it irrevocably so it’s not the same straw anymore.

(Also, I’m a linguist. You KNOW that’s not what’s being asked, if you answer this you are just trying to play with expectations and physics and shit. Stop that. Though at the same time, the concept of a hole in the question is poorly defined so what do I know.)

So my final opinion is definitely 2 holes.

okay heres the thing, i prefer to stay nuetral on most things spirtiul and religious and all that. I dont not beleive in anything. God with a capital G might be real but Thor might be standing over my shoulder too, maybe it's straight void when we die, maybe we go to the second showing of Alice in Wonderland. I don't want to say I don't beleive in something just to be proven wrong, and I;m not one to put full faith into anything, with that I've taken a very passive approach to spiritualism. I keep amethyst in my purse because i enjoy the placebo and it might be doing something more, I put cinnamons and cloves in my coffee becasue it might bring good things and it tastes good, today i had a majorly overwhelming day so I took a bath and the whole time was like "yup all the bad vibes wash away with this bath" because taking a bath is a good sensory friendly reset after a big day and also bad vibes and negative energy might just be a thing that I need to get rid of.

Destiny: DB Woodside

In a perfect world it would be Idris Elba but im gonna be realistic. DB has the gravitas and the voice for this role. I think that type of deep voice that could cut stone is perfect for the italics speaking oldest Endless.

Destruction: Daveed Diggs or Tom Hopper

To me, Destruction has to be the most trustworthy looking person I can think of, a little humorous, and have favorite brother energy. These actors have all of those things. I could see either of them begging Dream to eat thier home cooked meal and cracking wise with a talking dog, enjoying retirement. Most importantly, I see them as someone you wish were still a part of a family.

Delirium: Maisie Williams

There is no way that this isn't happening. She has the look. I think she's the right age. She's malleable. She doesn't even have eyebrows often. She's very little sister energy but she's been through enough to give a performance that says, "I'm one of the oldest beings in any universe". I also think she would agree to so a project like this. I imagine her if they get to adapt Brief Lives and I think she's a perfect fit.

Honorable Mentions (people I think belong in the Sandman)

Robert Sheehan: look at him and tell me he doesn't belong in this universe, you cant.. I don't know as who but he belongs

Aiden Gallagher: if he was just a bit older he could do Orpheus. If the show had to wait 15 years, he would've been Dream.

Nicholas Hoult: he would be a good Orpheus but I'm not entirely sure what he looks like now he may be a bit too old

Natalia Dyer: a good pick for Thessaly I think. She might be a touch young but her face would be interesting in that part. She also has the capacity to be intense and badass.

Gemma Chan: she's alianora. She's regal and gorgeous. She was created by desire. She would do so well to be Dreams love and look so good. I don't think she would do the role but if she did she would be perfect.
