Jay Defending You from Bullies Would Include...
On the Isle, there’s always been a pecking order. Bigger, more powerful people have more say and authority than smaller, weaker people. The same goes for the VK children.
Jay never had to worry too much, the most he worried about was the Gaston twins and some of his Dad’s pissed off customers but he could handle them. Until he met you.
Relationships weren’t an open and proud thing on the Isle, so it was disguised as an alliance. Like a Villain Sidekick scenario.
Jay was absolutely furious the first time you showed to his Dad’s shop, bleeding from a busted lip and nose and your bag ransacked, multiple items stolen. He was even more furious when you didn’t immediately tell him who did it.
In his mind, you were his and no way was someone going to hurt, break or steal from him.
He was shaking your shoulders, begging you angrily to tell him who did this. And eventually, in a quiet voice, you told him.
He stops and storms out of the door angrily, ignoring your calls to “come back” and “please let it go”. You were too nice for your own good. You waited at Jafar’s pawn shop as long as you could until Jafar screamed at you to get out. And with no idea where Jay was, you left and quickly went to your own dwelling.
He furiously made his way down the back alleys and dark streets of the Isle, fuming but plotting, nonetheless. On the Isle, there were only a few places to be so he went and kept going until he found them. And boy, was that a sight when he did.
He wouldn’t give them the common decency of making them aware of his presence, he would just swing on sight. As he fought, he thought of your bloodied nose and bruised eye and let his anger run through him.
“Whatever you do to them, I’m gonna do to you. Worse.”
As he gets ready to leave, he digs through their pocket and finds a pendant he knew for a fact you carried. He sneered at the broken body of his opponent and with one final kick to their ribs, he left.
It was only on the walk to your place that he started to feel the extent of his own injuries. He felt a familiar soreness that comes with fighting, and he looked down at his stinging knuckles, only to see nearly all of them split and bleeding. You were worth it though.
It was early morning hours when he slid your window up and climbed in, instantly waking you from your slumber, brushing off your concern of if he’s okay.
“You should see the other guys.”
He holds up your pendant, swinging it back and forward in a smug manner. With a very undignified squeal, you launched yourself at him and hugged around his neck, planting kiss after kiss on him.
In his eyes, this was a best-case scenario. He got to beat up some of his least favorite people and got kisses from his favorite person? That is a win-win situation.
In Auradon, things are different. There’s still a pecking order but the behavior is different. It’s backhanded compliments, judging gazes and petty behavior instead of beatings, theft and traps.
Like on the Isle, this behavior doesn’t happen in his ear shot. It would be even harder to get you to tell him who’s doing it. You don’t want to see him sent back to the Isle. He assures you he won’t.
Intimidation works like a charm in Auradon. If he sees one of your bullies even looking in your direction, he’ll saunter up behind you and throw a protective arm over your shoulder, all while fixing them with a death glare.
Mal, Evie and Carlos call him your personal bodyguard.
In the rare scenario intimidation doesn’t work, he corners said bully and threatens them all while having a smile on his face.
“So, (Y/N), huh? They’re great, really important to me. I would do anything for them, all they have to do is give me the word. And I mean anything.”
The whole time, he’s looking at them with a bitter smile before it falls into an intimidating death glare that could run most VKs off.
Your bully usually shows up and apologizes in a small voice while Jay looks at you with a victorious grin and heart eyes.
As soon as they’re gone, Jay pulls you into a hug, finally happy that his favorite person is comfortable and safe again. He meant what he said, anything for you.

How ironic is it that The Last of Us show ends around the same time Limited Life starts?
The Last of Us. What's left of who we are. Every minute of life is worth fighting for. Every second counts. Live life until you are no longer able to. Riley. Anna. Ellie.
Limited Life. The clock is ticking. Time is running out. Take advantage of your hours; you only get 24. And if you get killed? Even less. Time is everything. It is a resource. It is Life. And it is painfully limited.
Time. Life. Universal gifts. Universal curses.
Treat it like its the air you breathe, because you only have so much before its gone.
