I have so many things to say about these first episodes, from Ed carrying at least 4 pistols (when he was so adamant that he just had 1, "just like everybody else") and how that shows he really embraced the monster everyone portrays him as, Stede refusing to even entertain the idea, Stede and Lucius relationship, to Zheng Yi Sao's EVERYTHING?? There are SO many amazing things that we should be talking about!

But for now, I just want to talk about how Taika really acted his ass off.

Don't get me wrong, everyone is great. But my only (tiny, minuscule) complaint for season 1 was how, on serious scenes, Taika was acting a bit too comedic. A good example is the Kraken scene. His mannerisms are a bit unrealistic (Rhys is a freaking master of the "keep it real but make it funny". Amazing actor, best choice for Stede, hands down), his responses lacked a bit of honesty, in my opinion. Which worked with the vibe of the season as a whole, but I've always wished we could have seen him play it a little less "muppet-y", if you know what I mean.

And, boy oh boy, he really went for it this season. I freaking love his acting choices for deranged Blackbeard. They are definitely not for laughs. The way he shoots Izzy, so dismissive? Brutal. His face when Izzy shoots at him? On point. His relief when he thinks he is finally getting killed? Poetry. (A little side note. Whoever decided to leave the credits without music after that is a genius). His interactions with Hornigold are incredible too. He really mastered going between drama and comedy. I'm freaking DYING to see how him and Rhys are going to play off each other now.

I'm not sure I had ever seen Taika on a serious role, and I LOVED IT. I hope he keeps on going for more acting roles, because he's killing it.

yk what yeah ofc nancy’s kinda confused in s4 regarding her feelings towards steve & steve us kinda confused regarding his feelings towards nancy. nancy and jonathan obviously have some stuff going on, steve is frustrated bc he can’t seem to find the right girl. and then they have to fight for their lives and are scared of dying while doing so, and then fucking everyone around them is like “uhhh do you still love each other!? 🤭” and everyone’s pushing it and hyping it up and everything’s falling apart around them. so yeah, they’re both confused and scared. leave them alone and let them grow without getting back together.

Dick's grandfathers did what????

To explain (a few months after making the initial post about Dick's grandfathers both having fucked the Joker's Mum) in the show Gotham Jerome Valeska is the (unofficial) interpretation of the Joker.

Now, Jerome gets introduced in the episode 'The blind fortune teller' where he's part of a travelling circus that comes to town. During one of their shows a fight breaks out between the Graysons (a family of acrobats) and the Lloyds (a family of clowns) because the heads of each family are accusing the other of having had something to do with Lila Valeska's disappearance -> Who is Jerome's Mum.

Turns out, Lila didn't just disappear, she was murdered and obviously neither of the guys did it. They only accused each other because they each had an affair with Lila and hated the other guy's guts.

Anyway, of course it was Jerome - because Lila was horribly abusive towards him blah blah - the important thing is, that the younger generation of these two families - Mary Lloyd and John Grayson - go full on Romeo and Juliet 'We will love each other despite the hate between our Families' and get engaged.

These two are - obviously - Dick's Parents.

So within Gotham Canon, Dick Grayson can make jokes about his two Grandfathers having fucked the Joker's Mum and it would have been a thing that actually happened.

this is going to be an interesting off season for all we know next season the cast can look a lot different if people don't wanna come back or wanna be demoted to a recurring character so they can do other projects. Gonna be very interesting to see who stays.

I know. Season 7/8 is usually when shows hit their first major switch up. Hoping for the best (all of them sticking around) but holding my breath to see what else comes down the pike.
