okay before I lose my thought (MASSIVE Rise of the Beasts spoilers re: Unicron)

in my opinion rotb handled Unicron perfectly.

when I first watched the full trailer & saw Unicron my second thought was "oh no" (my first being "YOOOOOO") because in the bumblebee-rotb timeline it seemed extremely early to be involving him. I went into the movie almost resigning myself to the thought that it would end with Unicron being destroyed & never seen again, because he was advertised as the main Big Bad.

but the truth is, Scourge was the main Big Bad. and while Unicron made several appearances and had more than one line, the primary thing he did was loom over the narrative like the slow approach of death - he did more than haunting the narrative, I think, but aside from his interactions with the Terrorcons and his arrival at the final scene, he was largely uninvolved in the main conflict, and was in the end defeated momentarily rather than destroyed.

what we did see of him was always displays of power: the destruction of the Maximals' homeworld, his ability to supply the battlefield with endless Terrorcon footsoldiers, his mindscape-meeting with Scourge wherein he tortured Scourge for failing him from Primus knows how far away. hell, even Scourge, Battletrap, and Nightbird themselves were living proof of Unicron's power - ruthless, near-invincible supersoldiers who've killed enough Cybertronians and Cybertronian-adjacent lifeforms to steal and wear their badges like a bounty hunter collects trophies. on-screen all of this is done through Unicron's power, the extension of his will - and not, notably, by Unicron himself.

this wasn't Unicron's moment to shine, only to be destroyed so early in the narrative.

this was the moment that painted a target on Earth, and on Optimus Prime. this was the moment that established how Unicron is accustomed to taking thralls from other worlds while also killing off the ones he already had, laying the potential groundwork for Galvatron or even Sideways. this was the moment that showed off just how powerful Unicron and his allies are without cramming it into the first fifteen minutes of another movie down the line, and when he appears again we'll already know just how fucked the protagonists are.

this was the setup to Unicron's moment to shine. though I'd hoped Unicron would get more screentime, rotb ultimately handled Unicron with the severity he deserves; for that, it was perfect.

sidenote: I got very big "then perish" vibes at the end of the movie, when Unicron said smth like "think about this, Prime. I could give you anything you want." and Optimus responded with "then DIE!!". it was dramatic in the moment but remembering it got me a good laugh

hm. it Does vary wildly, both depending on quality, how used to scribbling a thing i am, and how well the art-mojo is flowing! on a bad night, a simple sketch could take an hour while the same sketch on a good night could take 15 minutes

and it's also hard to say since i don't really keep track! for example, The First One in this collage is a more involved sketch and i suspect it took thirty minutes maybe? i remember having some Difficulties so maybe longer? trying to get size differences between multiple characters in the same sketch adds a Lot of time, as does making sure they interact properly. while the last one in the collage (the Nom) probably took closer to ten minutes

i know the Laughingstock in Aziracrow's outfits i belted out in, oh... an hour or three? it's really hard to say! i think it was several bc i was watching gomens at the time, and i think it got through a couple of episodes... clothes add a lot of time! but certain things that i thought i did Quickly took hours in reality, and i only notice when i look up and see the clock has Changed Drastically! i have a very loose perception of time!

it really just depends on my motivation & how used to drawing something i am. like scribbling Eddie takes a while, lots of guidelines and erasing and redrawing. but scribbling Barnaby? easy. takes me seconds in comparison. way less guidelines - i know where everything is and where it goes! drawing dragons takes even less time - This One was done in a Blink, and the only guides i used were head circle / snout circle / jawline.

i know the rare and epic bugs are supposed to be yknow,, rare and epic so it wouldn't make sense if they spawned all the time. that being said, it's bad enough that the game has time limits on certain bugs, adding super low spawn rates just makes it worse. imo players should never feel like they have to spend hours playing to catch one bug

“A couple deep spots that need stitches but it's otherwise fine,” V said. He was gentler with her than she was with him. He used gauze soaked with sterile saline water to clean the blood around the wound and flush any debris.

Bea wavered on her feet a little and he put his free hand on her waist to hold her steady. Once clean he could see it wasn't that bad and just needed a wound dressing.

“You have to adapt to the circumstances of the gig. Your timing was off. Mine wasn't. These aren't the controlled jobs with all the intel prepared for you by Arasaka you're so used to,” V hovered his hand over the cut. “Arasaka spoiled you and made you weak and forgetful.”

V gripped her shoulder making blood dribble down and out through the cut. He let it run over and between his fingers. As Bea opened her mouth to retort he shoved three fingers into her mouth and hooked his thumb under her chin. He jerked her towards him, the movement making her upper teeth brush against his finger and for a moment he realized what a precarious situation he'd put himself in.

Bea just smiled and lapped at the blood around his fingers, her firm tongue deftly swirling around and under, suckling down every last drop of her blood.

tumblr keeps suggesting me posts from fic writers who are Very Angry about people filtering fics by kudos or doing a mental kudos to hit ratio calculation because How dare you have standards for the FREE fic you consume for FREE, youre not the target audience for everything, when its like. a) no ones saying they are? theyre just. saying when choosing what fic /they personally/ want to read, they take into account how many people read it vs how many cared enough to give it kudos, b) it being free does not in turn mean you are entitled to viewership, that has literally never been how social media works, c) yes, people choosing fics based on hits means less Already popular works will have a harder time getting off the ground, but literally anyone who's been on reddit will tell you that there will Always be people who sort by new to get those jumpstarts going. those who sort by new and those who sort by hot are a symbiotic pair, you cant just kill off one OR the other because they support each other.

anyways tldr if youre a fic writer, people arent choosing not to read your fic as a personal dig to you and youre not entitled to people reading and liking it just because you made it for free. kind of the opposite, actually.

I feel like I as an author need to know my place in The Fandom Ecosystem and that's as the b-team. Fics u read while waiting for JanetBaby99 or Thethirdmanthethird or Selvish to post.

I know we're all excited to see the new Barbie movie because it looks like a lot of fun, but part of what I'm most interested to see is how the movie affects the doll side of things.

ugh i really want to raise the price on my wizards bc they take more time/effort than i’m charging, but there’s a lot of repeat buyers and i just don’t want to deal with hemming and hawing about “but they used to be this price!”

like. im better at them now and that experience needs to be reflected. and im not paying myself a good enough hourly rate for the time it takes to make them (which is only one input cost)

Those eyes of his are so lovely too like I could drown in those beautiful blue-grays of his, the ones that turn so dark like the ocean in the eveningtime when he's focused or at a distance. I could look into them while tasting his sweet chapstick on my own lips from kissing him so much

His hair... Luscious blue locks that spiral so perfectly on his head... Perfect for me to gently dip my fingers into and massage at his scalp. Or perfect for me to just play with, twirling strands and brushing them with my fingers...

And have you heard his voice?! He can really sing (and yell) with it! It's so soft like the first snow of the winter season, but then gets so loud and prominent when he's emotional... The way he says my name, all sweetly like a scoop of vanilla ice cream... His laugh, so big and infectious, mixed with a little snort that sounds just adorable especially when hes lost in the joy he deserves every single day...

And this is the person I get to call my husband?? My soulmate??
