Genshin characters age headcanons masterlist (updated)
Yeah. I could give you many reasons why I believe some of the more debatable/"controversial" ones are very sensible and Good based on just freaking paying attention to context given in the game but for now I'll just compile a basic list. thinking about how 5x04 birthmarks actually sets up house's childhood as being more fucked up than i think the writers intended.
like okay. to run down: john house is abusive towards his son. house deduces that his dad isn't his biological father when he's 12 and confronts him about it. as a result, his dad proceeds to not speak to him for months besides leaving notes at his bedroom door. house's belief that his dad isn't his biological father is eventually vindicated after john's death and he realizes that his mother didn't like his father much either.
which. jesus christ. can we just take a step back and let that sink in? his mother had an affair and house is the result of that. and his mom just..... lets her husband abuse her son? it doesn't sound like she really stepped in at any point to stop it and the only time we see his parents together she makes excuses for her husband's behavior. and like. house is born in 1959 so yes, it's not like his mother could easily leave her husband and i'm not saying that blythe house is evil bc it is a difficult situation given the time period, but the way the narrative frames her (lack of) action in such a passive way vs acknowledging that she's complicit is... really fucked up tbh! and i'm not saying that a victim of child abuse can't love their parents bc it's really complicated! but it's just such a weird thing to toss out there like a dead fish to fester in the sun and do absolutely nothing else with it.
i really don't know that the writers fully thought through the implications of the back story they set up even tho it ends up explaining why house puts up with a lot of really messed up shit from the people around him.

listen if there's even one more lost angel up there who gets to experience warmth and kindness. whose world changes because someone cared enough to try. then it will have been worth it
the thing is, i think aziraphale will do much more, but -- let's put that aside for a moment.
blah blah the cult of heaven is too huge to fix system working as designed ok so?? because what if he does shift someone's thinking? pulls even ONE soul out of that quagmire??
like. just some little cog who didn't know any better, stuck alone and unloved in a horror for six thousand years -- if any supposedly stupid fruitless effort of aziraphale is enough to move them, get them out into a life where there's still horror but also growth and color and love??? how unutterably priceless is that?? if somebody is saved, how can that not be everything?????

thinking about that quote "those who've studied the Holocaust often come back with the feeling of having stared directly into the source of evil" and actually yeah I think I know too much and if I could get other people to know all the stuff I've read and heard and seen about the Holocaust and genocides maybe I could bring a change feel more stable and less insane at the cost of others. and I don't know what is worse, the nightmares I used to have when I was 7 and I didn't know much about Nazis so I could imagine everything; or all the things I am aware of now and that keep clogging my thoughts during my waking hours

Ok so this is such a nothing detail but it's been driving me nuts since I noticed it and even after looking into it I have no idea why it even realllyyyyy happens 😭 BUT::: I noticed that sometimes after getting Micolash to 50% health he will give a extra little laugh? EXCEPT the strange thing is that he only seems to give said extra laugh if your playing a male hunter????
Ive played through his fight on multiple characters and I've only noticed him doing that laugh on my male characters, so I looked up a bunch of videos of people fighting him to see if that was consistent with other peoples playthroughs and it was?? Like he only will do that extra laugh for the male hunters which is so so super strange?? I don't know if having a male hunter is even the trigger for the laugh but I can't find him doing it for any female hunters? It really is driving me insane like WHAT DOES IT MEAN MICOLASH.....😭..... I can't even think of any other boss in the entire franchise that will give a extra voice line based on player gender or anything like that?? Haha it really is so strange T_T
Here's some of the videos I watched that show off his extra laugh compared to female hunters where he just.. don't damm laugh I guess 🧎 ( I made sure to triple check for the hunters hurt voice lines to confirm what gender they were playing as! )
Male Hunter time stamps:
(x) (x) (x) (x)
Female Hunter time stamps:
(x) (x) (x) (x)
Again this isn't earth shattering info or anything but I just really have no idea what the trigger for the laugh atcually is 🧍because it feels really incorrect for it to be based on something like the hunters gender? Haha I'm sure someone else has noticed/talked about this before but it's been driving me up da damm wall so I thought I'd just make a little post pointing out how weird of a thing it is haha! T_T
Why do u withhold ur laugh Micolash......what is the trigger for it tell me pls.......🧎

there's this girl on tiktok/youtube shorts who talks about being a 'diagnosed sociopath' (which afaik isn't a thing anymore and she's too young to have been alive when it was a diagnostic thing -- i assume she just means ASPD and is using buzzword language, but it doesn't really matter either way because...... psychiatric classifications are a farce) & she'll discuss what makes her angry, how she gets revenge and/or protects people, how she forms attachments, n how she prioritizes different aspects of her life, and i keep watching some of these shorts like "this.... isn't sociopathy??? everyone with sense does this???" and then i look in the comments and everyone's going "GOD this is such good advice i wish i could do this so easily but i feel sooo bad about it 🥺🥺🥺🥺" and i'm like. huh. girl you either gotta stop being so relatable or i'll have to acknowledge a very obvious thing that i've known about myself for ages,

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR MUSHISHI S/I!! Where did he come from?? Does he have a relationship with Ginko or anyone else?? I bet he researches Mushi, right? That seems on brand with you and your curious lil brain
Aaaaah you'd think right. I am once again answering an S/I ask with Actually I have two different Self Inserts for this fandom fdkgjfdkg
The other one, an adult who lives alone and runs a hot spring in the mountains Ginko regularly visits does Research Mushi, and writes about them in his novels. He's part of the ever growing Aro Ginko Polycule, I've talked about him a few times, he's not interesting, just kind of domestic and in love with Ginko who pays him a visit once a year or so.
A lot of my younger self inserts are much more Head Empty than my older ones, the one your asking about especially
He's a kid inflicted by the Ginko who just showed up one day in Adashino's village. Adashino assumed him some sort of love child of Ginko's and sent a letter telling him to get his ass over here as soon as possible.
He appears about 7 or 8 years old, but it's hard to tell sense his knowledge seems toddler like. He doesn't know how to use chop sticks, or what he can and can't eat, or how to dress himself, and doesn't speak or seem to understand much of what anyone says to him.
He has a bad tenancy to grab Mushi by the handful and shove them in his Tokoyami filled eye, which is what lead Doctor Adashino to bandaging up the opening, sense he assumed that probably wasn't a good thing to be doing.
In the few weeks it took Ginko to arrive, Adashino got pretty attached to the kid, getting rather use to parenting his larger than most toddler. However, like Ginko, if in one place for too long Mushi will begin to swarm around him, making it dangerous for him to stay in the villager, or anywhere for that matter.
It took a lot of convincing, but Ginko eventually agreed to take the kid on as his apprentice, taking him on his travels and teaching him the dangers and nuances of Mushi.
Basically, he becomes Ginko and Adashino's adopted son over time. Whenever he gets to talking he calls Adashino "Papa", but Ginko remains just Ginko or some form of "Master"/"Sensei" when he's learning. He also calls Tanyuu variations of "Mama" or "Auntie", with Tama being "Grandma" exclusively. He doesn't like Kumado at all.

"You know, I can't dislike Uthan, Walon. I tried, but I can't."
"You can't dislike Kina Ha, either, and I know you feel you should as a matter of honor." Vau's expression had softened and it didn't suit him at all. Nature had selected him to be a brutal, implacable patrician, a man who beat servants and lavished more affection on his pedigree livestock. It was bred into his bone structure, revealed in that harshly aristocratic face. "Species apart, I can't help wishing my mother had been like her. Very grand, very gracious. She's more of a countess than dear Mama ever was."
Age didn't change a thing as far as Skirata was concerned. Vau seemed to think old age was a state of sainthood, life's slate wiped clean simply by being too feeble to return a punch. Skirata took off his boots at the door and stood them inside the covered lobby.
"If Demagol walked in here now, four thousand years old," he said, "what would you do?"
"Tell him to make himself useful for once and give Uthan a hand in the lab."
"Seriously."
"You're asking me if I'd take a blaster to a very elderly man and kneecap him for his eugenics crimes, aren't you?"
Skirata wondered if Vau would forgive his loathed father simply for avoiding death long enough. He doubted it. "I'm just a simple thug trying to explore moral philosophy, Wal'ika."
"Then I'd have to face him to know the answer. But I'm sure you think you know yours."
"I do. It's okay to shoot a helpless old man. Because when he wasn't helpless, he did some terrible things to living beings for no other reason than scientific curiosity."

A lot of feelings about this one episode in season 6 where Ben tries to get his mom and Dean backs together and when Dean goes talk to him about how he can't be around, he starts talking about how Ben will turn out like him if he stays and Ben can't understand why Dean thinks he is so bad, because for him Dean is just the dad he never had, who sure could be messed up at times but still, as far as we know Dean was his only paternal figure for a long time.
And thinking about this in the context of the babyfic, how Dean thinks he is setting up his daughter for failure with a hunter life, he would give everything for her to be able to have a normal life with school, friends and stupid school dances that he would drive her to, but he has no idea how to give her those things.
