WIP.
I'm feeling low, so polishing this one takes a while. I still need to fix things and figure out the palette. Or straight up changing M. Drama King's clothes. I am not satisfied. I like dancing. Dancing is good.
EDIT : I ended up finishing it. If you want to see the final result, you can look at it here .//.
Ft : @xyanmajor's character. Again. I'm sorry, I'll stop bothering you after this one and the other.
Credit : I used Beneos' Battlemaps bonus scenes from Castle Ravenloft as a reference for the backgroud. They do wonderful 3D maps and have done the whole CoS ( and fan-favorite additions as well. ) maps ; you can have access to them for free. I won't post the picture here as I'm not sure if free-tiers have access to this one. Check their patreon please.

AITA for getting someone removed from a TTRPG group and not telling them why? This happened about a week ago, and I feel awful. I (17ftm), and my 3 friends are a fairly close-knit TTRPG group. We recently lost a player due to scheduling issues, and thought we'd like to find a new player so our game could have 4 players instead of 3. The DM (21m) and I interviewed a few people, until we found C (23f).
To note, I am the youngest of the group by four years, and the only minor. The rest of the group are fairly protective of me due to this and some severe trauma I went through before we met. I have trouble voicing my opinions and discomfort because of said trauma.
When C joined the group, she seemed wonderful! The only thing of note was that she said she wanted to flirt with the campaign BBEG, a well-known vampire lord in the module. This was fine, and the DM's partner (21f) gave her okay.
However, when I began to post art of my character, C started acting odd. My character is a very nervous vampire, and he's the youngest and shortest of the group (though he is an adult). Apparently, C found him attractive, and whenever I drew him or brought him up C would say how she wanted her bard to flirt with him, or how she "has to ship him" because he was slightly Rapunzel-inspired. She also seemed to like how sheltered he was, and his relative innocence, talking about how he wouldn't understand flirting and not giving up even when him being uninterested in romance was flat out stated.
We also found out that she had been tracing art, and routinely said she couldn't come to sessions less than an hour before, with no other warning.
Where I might be TA is that I was made very uncomfortable, but didn't speak out. The DM asked me multiple times if I wanted her gone, but I didn't want to just boot her with no big reason.. Eventually I confided that she was making me dread playing our game, and later that day the DM told me he had removed her. He didn't respond to her asking why, and she reached out to me to ask, but also said she wanted to draw my character, which made me very nervous due to how she talked about him and the art she'd done before, which involved... very little clothing. I haven't responded to her and I don't know if I should, but I feel I'm TA for not at least seeing how she was in game before telling the DM.
What are these acronyms?

JAY’S RP PLOTTING CHEAT-SHEET
Want new-and-exciting plots for your character? Long to reach out to more of your followers, but don’t know where to start? Fear not! Fill out this form and give your RP partners both present and future all the of juicy jumping off points they need to help you get your characters acquainted.Be sure to tag the players whose characters YOU want more cues to interact with, and repost, don’t reblog! Feel free to add or remove sections as you see fit. Template here.
Mun name(s): Yams Mun pronouns: She/her/they/them, but also don't mind whatever OOC Contact: DMs or D.isco (mutuals/people I vibe with only ask for my d.isco)
Who the heck are my muses anyway:
He's a little shit that causes problems and pisses people off for the heck of it. A bit of an edgelord (is that an understatement?), rude, vulgar, and extremely tough to crack if you want him in friendlier stages. Good luck. He's not going to make it easy for you.
Points of interest:
He has various verses, some things may change depending on what verse things are in. Details in his design are important and have stories behind them. In his main verses, he has extra strengthened abilities and a little extra chaotic surprise, sometimes. He has a lot of anger issues and is really shit at dealing with other emotions, often turning them into anger, too, because he doesn't know how else to handle things. He likes to think of himself as a villain, but really he's more like an anti-hero. And he's got a whole revenge case he's trying to deal out. He's got some emotional issues that he refuses to talk about, and others he will just spill because he likes to talk about himself. And he's got trust issues.
What they’ve been up to recently:
Well, this varies for people and verses. Things won't be following the same paths for everyone he interacts with. In in his main f.c5 verse, he somehow got himself in a position where he's gotta help protect the Seeds, because of the relationship he ended up in with Jacob. Everything in the B.L verses kinda got put on hold, but these days its after his Arena fell. A vampire verse, in the f.c5 land, has been distressing him. Bloody City (original) verse is getting more developments lately (yeehaw). Depends on what version you wanna deal with, really.
Where to find them:
In general modern times, usually Chicago. In the borderlands, usually Pandora. In F.C3, on Rook Islands, hanging with the pirates. In F.C5, Hope County, usually in Jacob's region. Frontier, the pirate is in Montreal in the company of Mr. Grant and Mr. Pond.
Current plans:
Plans? What are plans? We'll have to see what unfolds. Anything could happen.
Desired interactions:
Enemies to awkward found family member, enemies/rivals, slow burns of any kind of relationship (because its almost always a slow burn with him), helping him learn to cook maybe? (his whole fear of stoves and fire issue man), dad bird dad bird dad bird dad bird (has an accidentally adopted daughter in some verses btw), etc.
Offered interactions:
Uh, do you like problematic little shits? Do you like conflict? Stories are boring without conflict, after all. And it makes the good times so much more worth it, you know? If you for some reason want him to work with you, however, the price is gonna be a little different. Because he doesn't care about money.
Current open post/s:
Keep an eye out for random IC posts, they happen a lot, and are generally open to anyone if they don't have a tag. (I don't always tag ic posts but I do always tag any trigger warnings when I think they need it.) Some will have specific verse tags, sometimes, just so you know where things will be focused on but yeah, generally most things are open unless someone specifically gets @'d on.
Anything else?:
[I'm not super great at writing, and am especially bad at describing things in words, but Jay will make up for a lot in dialogue because he loves talking. Interactions can inspire art, lots of drawing going on here. Also things never stop developing. I've been running this character for 12+ years now and I'm still developing him.]
Tagging: whoev's wants to do this thing go for it, i tried

Hi, different anon- while I’m not sure I agree with you about otohan being a boring villain, I am really interested in your railroading take. Is…I dunno, mechanical railroading a thing? From an encounter design standpoint? The thing I keep coming back to is that 200+foot per round move, plus teleports and psionic leap. That’s not an encounter you can run from without big conjuration spells. 60-odd damage a round? Not a good place at level 7. What was supposed to happen, dyou think?
Hi anon! If you don't mind, I'm going to package my answer to this with a response to this really good comment from @hexagonalpeg and then I'm going to go do some work for a while.
Tumblr media
So for what it's worth Otohan is mechanically quite interesting, and purely from a mechanical standpoint, I'd love to see a combat like that at like level 15 or something. I just found her to have no discernable personality other than GOOD EMBRACE THE DARKNESS and like, that's boring as shit to me. I don't know why she feels this and I don't care. But that's an aside.
Mechanical railroading is kind of a thing in that you absolutely can have a battle that was always intended to be virtually unwinnable. It's something Matt has done very well in the Chroma Conclave initial attacks in which the dragons were clearly stated to have a sky-high AC, and with the first fight against the Tomb Takers in Campaign 2. It's a good way to impress upon the party how strong the enemy is and give them clues on how to counteract them in the future.
Here's the problem: if you have an unwinnable (or near-unwinnable) fight, you need to have a not terribly difficult way to stop it. You can have this by having the enemy say "not worth it" or be called away before destroying everyone (Chroma Conclave); you can make running away possible (Tomb Takers); or you can convince the enemy to stand down, either by giving them what they want or showing you're not a threat, which often overlaps with the enemy deciding it's not worth the effort.
Alternately, you can have a TPK. If you are having a TPK on purpose, that is in fact valid (especially if there's going to be some group vision/turn back the clock/alternate future stuff)...but you need to make it fast. You don't draw it out.
This combat had one very specific answer reliant on only one party member in an incredibly high pressure situation in which every other thing tried had failed. Half the party is down, everyone's in single digits and low on resources, Otohan is killing her best friend, and here's the other thing. Imogen's backstory, and Laura has said as much both in and out of game, is that she feels like going into the storm means dying. Most of Imogen's meaningful conversations have been about fighting her power or learning about it but never, ever giving in. It feels entirely in character, to me, for her to resist it to the very end and ultimately have to be forced into giving in...and that's not good if the answer to the puzzle is "give in."
I think another really important factor is that the narrative leading up to this fight seemed, at least from my perspective as a D&D player, and I'd guess the cast's perspective, a slam dunk. They need to get Treshi, a plot that has already been dragging on for quite some time. They're finally in. They were planning on taking some time to get the lay of the land and call the skyship but oh look, here's a seemingly golden opportunity of a distraction, inclement weather to hide your way, and a tentative ally in this quest! Of course they'd seize it.
So anyway I think the ending - of Imogen giving in, and whatever is going to happen with the white light and everything stopping - is exactly what was intended to happen, but I think that the setup was absolutely not there for anyone to realize this, and that's a pretty significant DM-ing misstep in my eyes. It doesn't mean the story on the whole can't recover, but this just seems clumsy.

KAR ALOR'ADE’S RP PLOTTING CHEAT-SHEET
Want new-and-exciting plots for your character? Long to reach out to more of your followers, but don’t know where to start? Fear not! Mun name:
OOC Contact:  Tumblr DMs or discord on request!
Who the heck is my muse anyway:
The cosmos/Force in "human" form; she lives many lives and holds many jobs, but mainly is a Fixer. She has her own little network of "friends" and knows how to use them.
Points of interest:
If she's not wearing a helmet/hood/glasses, her eyes. Or her fangs when she talks/smiles. Or the occasional unmasking and showing a lil more neurodivergent traits. Unless you're close friends/family or I write it, assume she speaks in a Coruscanti/Core World accent. Force sensitive muses can somewhat sense her too, but depends on the Era.
What they’ve been up to recently:
Linear time-wise (so 600+ years after her birth), she returned after a walkabout. But since I'm not exactly a linear timed blog I am not sure how to answer this.
Where to find them:
SW: Coruscant, Alderaan, Rishi, Koboh | ME: Citadel, Omega, Tuchanka, Her Colony | BL: Helios, Sanctuary, Opportunity, Promethea
Current plans:
That's up to my partners. I came back to be a casual in character shit post blog. Plots aren't in the forefront but if my partners think of something hype, sure.
Desired interactions:
TanalorrTempleVerseTanalorrTempleVerse
Otherwise I have some ideas for some blogs but I want time to reach out and chat.
Maybe open her to ships again, I dunno. (Unfortunately folks I discussed are gone and I don't want to assume that folks want to continue.) I miss her and the chakaar, but ME blogs are few and far, let alone a not as popular character so probably just gonna drabble it.
Offered interactions:
Need something? Want something? she's an Intel broker/Fixer. For the right price she can help you. Or handle it herself if the situation permits.
She's a diplomat/first contact envoy if you want first contact threads.
She's a scientist, joining an expedition or research facility, etc
She's a rebel, fighting for the people, drawing like minded people to the cause.

happy homestuck day!! ive been meaning to do quantum break homestuck au art for... literally over a year, lol. so here's their godtiers!
jack is a knight of time, paul is a seer of light, beth is a rogue of void, and will is an heir of doom. don't ask me to explain because i will never shut up (please god ask me to explain i want an excuse to talk about this au)
more info about this au under the cut!!
i actually have a whole document about this au because ive been thinking about it since like, mid 2021, lol. but here's all the info about their sburb session:
CLASSPECTS jack - knight of time will - heir of doom beth - rogue of void paul - seer of light
LUNAR SWAYS jack - prospit will - prospit beth - derse paul - derse
CHUMHANDLES jack - chronoCrash will - timeTraveler beth - graffitiGoddess (or if you wanna goof, totoAfrica) paul - alliedAntagonist
TEXT COLORS jack - #006666 will - #00FF99 beth - #990000 paul - #FFCC00
SYLLADEX FETCH MODUS(ES? MODI?) jack - shuffle (like an ipod shuffle, it picks at random and you have to just skip through until you find what you want) will - something extremely mathematical idk beth - the one where you draw what you want from your sylladex (like jade has) paul - literally just queuestack like john has lol hes basic about his sylladex. maybe he would upgrade it to like, a dewey decimal system type fetch modus later on tho
STRIFE SPECIBUS(ES? SPECIBI? IDK) jack - gunbladekind (it is a foam cosplay weapon lol) will - canekind (his grandfather's fancy old cane) beth - batkind (baseball bat) paul - butterflykind (he has a butterfly knife, it was a gift from jack)
LANDS jack - land of steel and storms will - land of fractals and dice beth - land of bricks and graffiti paul - land of butterflies and glass
GUARDIANS jack - emily joyce (formerly pope) - mother will - casper darling - grandfather beth - dylan faden - "uncle" paul - jesse serene (formerly faden) - mother
POST-SCRATCH SESSION emily pope - maid of mind, prospit casper darling - thief of hope, prospit dylan faden - bard of heart, derse jesse faden - prince of space, derse
yeah, because they dont have a space player in the QB session it is technically unwinnable, so jack would have to scratch the session. the post-scratch session is control characters bc Why Not tbh, i think it makes sense. polaris is like a first guardian in this au (so she's like the becquerel to jesse's jade, if you catch my drift, including eventually prototyping herself, then self-prototyping with jesse's dreamself so that when jesse godtiers, polaris becomes a part of her. i just love that concept so much lol)
anyway back to the qb characters tho!! in this au, they all know each other cuz they play d&d together online. will is their dm. will and jack dont live together anymore (will went to study abroad and is staying with his & jack's grandfather, who is a scientist) hence why they play online. this is how they end up playing sburb together.
jack is the first to enter the game, followed by paul, then beth, then will last (he does NOT like jack being his server player, lol).
as far as who reaches godtier first... i have thought about this a lot actually and i think paul, being a seer of light, is the first to figure out how to godtier, but is not the first to do it because he is afraid to die. in the end, jack probably makes it to godtier first, entirely by accident (he probably does something stupid and gets horrendously injured, and someone-- maybe paul?-- carries him to his quest bed). after jack has reached godtier, paul asks his help with it, and gets jack to kill him >:3c because of course jack is the only one he would trust to do that >>>;3c
asdhjklhgfdsdfghjk ANYWAY. i am... probably not going to write this au anytime soon, as i have several other WIPs on my plate right now, but i like rotating it in my mind like a rotisserie chicken sometimes regardless. you know how it is.

if people like the idea of ttrpgs but feel intimidated by the whole setup, then i must wholeheartedly recommend the arhkam horror card game
(arkham as in lovecraftian horror, not batman related despite my recent kick)
characters are assembled as a deck of cards from a pool of abilities, assets, and events, so your deck is thematically who you are as a person + every character you pick from their huge cast has their unique abilities, stats and weaknesses,
and they have pretty good prebuilt decks
so that's character creation done
no dm needed bc the story and encounters are also driven by story-specific decks of cards and instructions
and you don't need to worry about "am i funny or a good storyteller" bc it'll come naturally via playing the game and trying to use your cards to solve problems. you'll play a cool combo mechanically and then you pause and think about what actually just happened and it's batshit crazy
example: i have an ability that lets me tag along w any teammate should they move from my location to somewhere connecting once per turn
my friend needed to take a shortcut that required a dexterity check, and we all gave him boosts to pass this check for less than 50% chance of success. we'd run out of time versus the big bad if he didn't succeed
he passes, he takes the shortcut, i tag along
what actually happened is: my friend is playing as this old decrepit professor with arthritis. his shortcut was (via game mechanics) leaping from the roof of our hotel into another room. we all did the equivalent of "you got this old man 👍👍 now jump" bc he wouldn't have passed without us committing boosts to his skills at the cost of our own resources
old man makes it, but what does that mean for me, the spry young boxer who is overprotective of his friends?
we decided that the two of us trapeze-style flung ourselves off the roof, the boxer clinging to the old man's ankles, and we made it into the room through an open window
or, our other friend accidentally made everything worse bc he decided to beat every skill test the game presented him and then chose to "tell the truth" in the story crossroads
what that amounted to, if you read the flavor text, is: he was found at the scene of a grisly murder, knife in hand and no memories -> he called his friends (us, the other players) in order to help (thus the game is set up) -> passed all the skill tests needed so we had time to investigate before the cops arrested us (aka cleaned up the crime scene) -> unluckily drew out a weakness card that was him wandering this hotel with blood all over him so it's an extreme penalty to negotiate with npcs -> but he's the only one available in that area to divert nosy hotel guests so it's just him using his stubbornness (willpower skill) to gaslight these guests into "nothing to see here 🥰" and somehow succeeding -> cops find him but he's fucked up at every turn by successfully hiding the evidence and presenting his own investigation notes too quickly (oh, i also killed an innocent man for him 😔) and it was so batshit insane they went after him which is why we had to go to the other rooms via rooftop instead of the halls
or the mechanic of us playing cards as assets to boost our stats -> we all played ally cards -> narratively amounts to
original friend wakes up at crime scene, panics and calls his other friends -> we arrive and call our friends -> 7+ people are now accessories to crime, and we as a group get to decide on the fly why the hell are we all friends and instantly down for murder and its fallout
there was another game where me and a friend kept getting fucked over by the location placements of the game, and constantly missed each other when we were trying to end up in the same location
narratively decided we kept mistiming our gondola rides in venice and were wistfully reaching out to each other across different canals
or, at the end when venice flooded, i had the comedic timing of drawing out my weakness: a stubborn detective enemy that thinks i'm the cultist
so he's climbing out of the flooding canals and onto our one surviving gondola that already has five people on it, absolutely soaking, and "👉 You."
the rest of the party gesticulating behind the detective "BRO." at the eldritch horror rising out from the sea
anyways, it's fun and prob the lowest commitment one can invest in a ttrpg

Hey so since you’re my main source of Madoka content that I thoroughly enjoy I thought I’d ask, how do you think a dnd session of them all would play out?
wow! this was a really surprising ask as this is actually something I've thought about on many occasions!
also, I am honored to be your main source of Madoka content
the first thing to answer here would be who the DM would be, the lyrics of Magia we know that Homura was a bookworm who really liked fictional settings, a trait that does not necessarily mean she'd be interested in DMing, I don't think it's hard to imagine she'd at least partially want though, though the issue is that early timeline Homura would be far too nervious to be a DM, and late timeline Homura wouldn't care enough. as such I assume Mami would be the next option, simply because she's the oldest and viewed as the leader and no one else particularly fits the role of DM any better
as for if everyone would be willing to play, I'm sure that Madoka and Sayaka be willing to play, and Homura would probably be willing to play just to make Madoka happy
as for Kyoko I'd say it really depends heavily on the timeline, though that kinda goes without saying
I imagine Madoka would be very happy to draw all of her friends' characters
as for the game itself, I'll start with Homura, early timeline Homura I would imagine would probably like roleplaying, but would be very embarrassed about it, trying to act in character but also being worried she might be overdoing it. late timeline Homura however would probably play very dry with pretty much no roleplaying as she's exclusively there for Madoka. for some reason I really easily imagine her playing a spellcaster, either wizard or sorcerer, I don't know why I think this, it just feels right.
Madoka, I can't really imagine being too much of a roleplayer, her characters probably wouldn't have too much personality for them, and she'd functionally just play herself. she could easily play any class though I can easily imagine Madoka picking a support class in hopes of being helpful
Sayaka would easily be the biggest roleplayer of the group, probably lawful good, I don't think I need to explain this take, she's pretty much playing a role for a lot of the anime. she'd probably be a paladin
Kyoko, if anyone would be a problem player, it would probably be her, probably playing a rogue, and often acting in ways that antagonize other players, though I imagine in most timelines she'd be willing to hear her friends out and play in a way to maximize enjoyment for everyone involved
and now Mami, the DM. considering the way she acts a role much like Sayaka does, and has a bit of a flair for the dramatic, I can easily imagine her settings being fleshed out, and having a great story planned out for her campaign, I can actually easily imagine her over planning her campaign, and watching as her players do something that completely derails everything she planned out and having to go back to the drawing board after some sessions
thank you for the question, always happy to answer questions about headcanons

Hi hi!!
So recently I've gotten just a tiny amount of attention recently (which is so awesome cool yippee!) And I've decided to make a little about/get to know me type post so that way I feel a little bit more transparent and you guys get to know me a little better!
Introduction
So as everyone knows my name is Clover! But I have two other names too, Clementine and Dustin. I don't have a preference for these names at all but if you had to ask me which one was my favorite I'd have to choose Clementine lol. But no matter what you can call me any of those names!
I am 18 years old (though everyone both online and irl automatically assume I'm in my 20's I have no idea how and why I'm literally the silliest creature) and my pronouns are they/she, again I don't have a preference to which pronoun is used so feel free to pick one
A little bit more about me
I know I don't have to share this but I feel since my dms are open to anyone it should be at least shared! I have ADHD and Autism, it sometimes does make talking a little bit harder, as sometimes i will forget to respond and if I do just message me again, I promise you're not bothering I'm just forgetful. I also do tend to have a "wait your turn to talk" issue (which has improved greatly but still there lol) but that goes more so for like a VC type deal (which I am open to those too)
Secondly, I don't have much as far as DNI (other than the basics like if you're an asshole, racist, any kind of hateful phobic yahda yahda) but if you are 15 or below please do not interact with me personally (I would also advise to not interact with my page). The only trigger I have is real world pregnancy stuff, anything that has to do with irl pregnancy I really don't want to hear it, it makes me feel uncomfortable. I would also appreciate it if you use tone indicators, if you don't that's fine and dandy but sometimes i will ask if something is a joke or sarcasm.
My hobbies
Here's some things I like to do!
Drawing (big one, digital and traditional)
Playing Video games (I'll get to what my favorites are)
Writing(I'm still working on this, I'm really bad at it but I like writing characters, talking about scenarios, and sometimes rp)
Programing(I'm still majorly learning how to do this but I have a huge interest in it)
Here's some more things I'm into! Or Special interest!
Air planes
Computers
Retro technology
Biology
Plant biology
Botany
Bugs
Flowers
Some media I'm into (Video games and Shows etc etc)
Splatoon 3
Splatoon 2

I can't remember every thing I'm into, but you can always bring up stuff in conversation or if I don't know a piece of media I would love to learn more about it!
So I think this is about it, I would love talk to everyone sometime! I'm really open to making new friends n stuff and I would even love it more talking about those medias/ ocs ^ ^!!!!!!
I'm also open to playing games with people too! My switch friend code is
SW-6769-7884-8275
And my xbox gamer tag is CL0V34 K1DD with a halo profile picture!
I hope I can talk and meet everyone soon!!

As a first-time DM, I am not sure if this is normal, or if I have somehow managed to land myself in more trouble than I need to. I am currently world building at so many fronts, and it's both very creative and rewarding, but also quite stressful. These are the things I'm world building atm (please tell me if that's a normal amount, or if that's just a newby thing because I don't know the ropes and all the tricks yet):
- Fleshing out NPCs for the upcoming session, what they know or don't know, what they are willing to tell or do, and for what price.
- Designing a surprise encounter that is a consequence of one of the players deliberately flashing dangerous knowledge around in an attempt to draw out the bad guy. It has to be threatening, but probably should not result in them being dead or captured. Because if they get captured, there is no reason why they would not either be killed instantly, or used in the bad guy's necromantic experiments. Maybe some kind of mind battle, the important psychic attack with detect thoughts disguised by physical attacks? Or maybe I really do try to capture them, or at least some of them, and split the party? Because that's what my bad guy would go for, if I'm really honest.
- Designing an evil lair under the location the players are currently in, and coming up with a way to let them know it's there without being too obvious about it. Incidentally, coming up with security for the place that would hold up to strong magical government forces and oversight, but can be breached by our heroes if they put their minds to it.
Which is fucking difficult, let me tell you. My current idea is to create a disturbance in the lair, to let them see security rush in there without being able to do anything about it, but also let them see the devices that allow security to teleport there. Maybe there is also a way for them to find an in with the security personnel? Have to think about that. I want to use the players special abilities for this more, make it so that it's only because they combine different skillsets that they can succeed, but I'm not sure how to do that.
But maybe I just actively try to capture them instead, and it becomes a jailbreak story? Ugh, too many possibilities! How do you decide what is the best course of action for the story and to make player choices matter? If I leave it up to how the story goes at the table, what the fuck do I prep for, all of it??
- I am trying to keep the motivations of the different factions in mind, but they are shifting quite a bit. I designed it like a kind of cold war between two powerful factions, both of which operate in the criminal underground and sort of keep each other in check. One of them is looking to make an army of modified warforged who would be loyal only to them, the other is a criminal syndicate that dabbles in necromancy who threatens to raise an army of undead. Both things are illegal, and the law is strong in the country, so they can't just openly fight it out.
Oh, that's giving me ideas. What if they are kind of in the middle of negotiations, and it's the player's task to stop this unholy alliance? I like that, I like that a lot. It's an achievable goal for 2nd level adventurers, I think, and they already have the first part of some critical information that would disturb those talks, they just don't know it yet.
- Coming up with at least a half-way believable economic system that feels coherent and helps players with immersion, or at least doesn't put them out of it, is not really fun for me. I want it, because since they are 2nd level adventurers it should still feel like an important thing that they can't buy certain things yet, but I don't want to design it.
- Coming up with ideas on how to get players to engage with the world, and get deeper into their character. I think I'm gonna do a flashback for one of them, make them actually feel what they have lost when their mentor died, instead of it just being words on paper. I'm gonna give another an NPC rival, since they have given me nothing much in their backstory to hook them in. And I'm gonna design an artificer convention for our artificer, that can also be the place where the final negotiations take place. Of course it's gonna go horribly wrong one way or another, and I feel like it might be the showdown for their first arc. How much time do I give them until the convention? Also, fuck me, that's a lot of work!
- My players are currently investigating the necromantic crime syndicate, but one of my players is also secretly investigating the warforged faction as a part of their warlock pact. And as an added difficulty, is doing so for the necromantic syndicate, but thinks he's doing it for the warforged faction. I have no idea when and how I let him find out, and how it will impact the story. At the moment, I'm just keeping that plate spinning as best I can, tbh.
- One of my players is designing a dungeon and wants to DM it soon. I work with him to find a way to put it into the story, even if only superficially.
Is it normal to have so many fronts to work on? I have never build a story or a world before, so is it normal to leave things kinda vague like this, and basically come up with new story beats, or flesh out old ones, after each session and depending on what the players do? It feels a little dangerous to me, like there's a good possibility that I'm not gonna be able to tie it all together and give them a satisfying conclusion. At the same time, if I define it more in advance, I feel like I'm gonna take away their agency. I don't just want to guide them from beat to beat, I want them to be able to influence what beats there are, and when they hit them.

Happy Doomcraft Doomsday 2022!
After the fall of the Hermitblr Discord Server back in January 2022, Demise has come back - this time on a different Server with a different name, Doomsday! The event is modded by the wonderful @ambered-glazed-sheep and their amazing mod team! This year, there are 16 players, and I'm really excited to try to hit at least everyone once or twice!
The Rules are:
You can only attack people who are participating in the event! (Of course, you can still draw characters of other people! However, that will not be considered part of Doomsday)
You can attack other participants by putting your creation of their character into doomsday-attacks and pinging them on Discord.
You can't attack the same person again until they've defended themselves from your first attack, or died.
If you are attacked, you can defend yourself (by creating art for your attacker) within a timeframe of 48 hours.
You only get one life!
You can defend for other people!
You can check whether a person is alive or dead by their roles (on Discord).
There are no specific rules about forming teams!
Attacks don't have to be murder/Halloween themed! However, they can be!
If you want to draw something more dark or bloody, please check the refs channel beforehand to see if the person you're attacking specified anything about that.
You can sign out of the event at any time, just let a mod know!
The sign-ups closed Sep 29th and the game started 8am CEST and there's already been so many attacks! I cannot wait to see how everything turns out and who will be the winners this year!
Each person was able to submit 5 characters into the game, and I put in four!
9w3n 0 (Gwen Cypher) (They/It/She)
Tumblr media
They are a character I played on the New Dawn SMP back in Nov. 2021 (I haven't redrawn her ref in a while haha). They are very nervous and doesn't know a lot of stuff from this era and is most familiar with things from the Beta update, like Red Beds and wolves. Endermen are new to them, and whatever a stronghold is? They are very drawn to it and all the new things like Fences!!! What do you mean, they came out several years ago? And where’s her friends? What do you mean Herobrine isn’t real? They are an Allay Elf Hybrid, think BIG rounded ears with blue insides, small wings, and occasionally a tail!
Milo Fern (He/Him)
(I don't have a good photo of Milo yet) Milo is a character I made back in 2020/early 2021 from a TikTok OC challenge about mixing three DSMP creators and seeing what you make! I combined Wilbur Soot, Fundy, and Ranboo and got Milo. He’s played a part of a helpful farm boy who loves to play guitar and hang out with his boyfriend. He has a lot of anxiety and can be very paranoid. He loves redstone, but feels like it’s going to explode if he gets a small detail wrong. Milo's also a retired L'manburg soldier, but I don't really know how to work that into his story yet.
Scaps K. Pigeon-Patch (He/They)
My rip-off GoodtimeswithScar D&D character.
Tumblr media
(This image has his backpack on, the one I posted on the Doomcraft server doesn't have it.) He’s just a halfling with elf like ears and sometimes a tail. When I originally designed him I was thinking of the Borrowers and the Littles, I wanted him to have those vibes. He likes to bite people when they try to shake his hand. My DM wrote my backstory and I won't put it here just in case someone in my campaign sees this. He likes to eat soap :)
Penelope “Poppy” System (They/She/He/It)
Tumblr media
It's just IRL me, I wanted to add ghostbuster stuff because that's what I've been into recently and I did draw that photo of my buddy Dylan sooo... I used that photo for convenience.
I cannot wait to see what other attacks happen, and I am so glad to be a part of this, this year! I'll be posting my attacks here and @ing the people I attack, so please be on the lookout for that!

A my hero academia themed DnD campaign sounds amazing!! I am very excited to hear about this :O I just started playing
So after so long, I've finally thought to finish writing this. Or re-writing this, rather. I am sorry for the delay!! ^^''
(Please note that I kind of just go by my own rules rather than the normal D&D rules. Also the MHA characters are aged up slightly due to the ages my players chose for their characters. That being said, by players get to pick at least 3 powers with a shared additional one)
Well, for one we just kind of go where our brains go with this
Okay so the game actually doesn't start at MHA
it actually starts in this area called Myrefalls, which is a dimension that links other worlds together by doors made of reflective clear glass
magic portals basically
I just imagine Myrefalls to be a small yet beautiful ancient city
People reside there to learn and defend the doors should anything get in
That being said, two of my players (and my dm pc) are from there
they were born and raised in Myrefalls with magical abilities that will one day help the city
and during a walk, three of them (Kota, Zafirah & Athena) stumble upon a random & mysterious magic circle
and the more they stare at it, the moor it draws in their curiosity
and alas, they are transported from their home to where MHA takes place; Musutafu, Japan. .
not only that but in the middle of a city street that is under attack by some monster, or by the locals, "a villain"
and with being trained, the three leap into action
honestly those around them, heroes & citizens alike are too stunned by these three dropped outta nowhere from a portal to anything
well except All Might
he comes in to congratulate them but also ask where they came from (he knows that they are definately not from there)
and eventually the three of them end up meeting All Might on a few more occasions
he learns that they've never been to this place before nor they any money or a place to stay
so he offers to fund their housing & the like but only if they apply at the school called UA
and that housing area is right next-door to the Midoriya household
and naturally the three go to meet their neighbor who is really shy around them
he also goes over to their home soon after to meet with All Might, but faints when he sees one of them turn into a cat
by this point, they know his secret because one of them rolled persuasion
they don't understand why it's such a big deal but they agree to keep it
it's also a little odd to mention that all three girls have a different opinion of All Might. One thinks he's really cool (Athena), one thinks he's nice but he's tall so he's scary (Kota, the cat girl) and one finds him highly suspicious and doesn't trust him at all (Zafirah)
with knowing Izuku's secret, All Might rushes the three of them to go to the entrance Exam for UA
based on their rolls, all three of them do pretty good
and once they see how bad a state Izuku is in after saving Uraraka, Athena, who has plant/vine powers, rolls him up in a flowerbed-like rug and drags him back home
Moving forward a bit, these are some other things that happen in my D&D session:
the girls learn that they can essentially borrow abilities but they keep them
they have no explanation for this, and the players have chosen not to learn more
Cue all three flirting with Aizawa as soon as they see him
this means that when Shigaraki touched and messed up Athena's shoulder, he allowed her access to his power
Kota has bitten Kitkat (Katsuki) and survived
Athena keeps fighting Kitkat yet she's in love with him (won't admit it)
she also asks Todo (Todoroki) to go places with her, because she's in love with him too
but Zafirah also kinda likes him
Zafirah has kissed Dabi
enter in our third player (not including my dm pc) and only male player, Hiro, who has possessed enough of the main cast in just his first day at UA after his transfer
he and Athena seem to fight a lot
he has challenge Kitkat to a duel and has won (based on rolls)
he is in love with Athena and wants to knock out the competition
The team are tasked with a secret mission with Hawks
While Hawks collects them from their shared home, Dabi is waiting inside the house
Dabi convinced Athena to agree to their team to join the League of Villains because they'd be useful and this is kind of entertaining
Dabi keeps trailing Athena to bug her
after Toga and Twice kidnap the neko girl, Kota, the team force Dabi to take them to their lair (rolled persuasion and convinced him)
at the hideout, they find out that Shigaraki had completely destroyed Kota's eyesight, leaving her eyes, or at least where they were, permanently messed up
So Todoroki for some reason works at a strip/dance club (obviously, he's Icythot on Thursdays) and even got Hiro a job there
Izuku may or may not be become Villain-Deku
Kota dates Kiri but ultimately the current Deku is working to change that
A little bit about my players :
Athena
she's also kind of a hoe if I'm honest
she likes wrapping people up in her flower beds
honestly they look like a smoke wrapped up like that
well she does have the power to control any and all plants after all
she's done with the world 98.5% of the time
honestly she's tryna rival Midnight in being the Rated-R hero with how her hero costume is
Kota (DM PC)
tiny cat girl
only loves Kirishima / Deku
can transform into a white cat with ginger spots
she is currently blind and has to navigate her way around
she has a teddy bear that can turn into a scythe
she has a bubble shield that she uses to protect people
Zafirah
A fairy
sleeps in a drawer
will fight anybody if they dare to hurt her friends
she's often sus of strangers
she's strategic in the way she fights
other than the borrowing power she shares with the others, she has fire hands. So she care burn whatever she touches (although she can choose)
she fights with knives
Hiro
He's a bit arrogant
Hiro is a typical ladies man
he actually is a pretty good guy once you get to know him
he's very protective of his friends
he actually wants to find out if there is a way to reverse what happened to Kota
Athena may be a hoe, but Hiro is her hoe equal
he possesses people to take/borrow their powers
while the others can borrow powers only, he can choose whether to permanently take them or to take them for a limited time

Ackk! I'm sorry for the super late reply 😭 it's already late at night in my country by the time you reply and I'm being held up by other responsibilities as well T^T is it okay to ask what time is in your country? It's almost 11AM here!
Trust me they won't be annoyed at all by your spam. I think they'll even be happy that someone out there is still reading their old and new works! The fact that we recognize their work is already a delight for them and makes them feel appreciated. I'm also excited when I see your enthusiastic comments on the creator's work!
Ah, I do favor Saeran slightly more than Saeyoung but it doesn't mean that I love Saeyoung less! He can do whatever he wants and I'm already blushing and giggling in delight! But I also have to admit that V has a special spot in my heart. There's this connection that I feel when I see him in terms of our passion for art and being afraid to find the courage to pursue what we truly love.
Alright, I'll just send asks to you for the time being. But I will also swing by your DM later! Now that being said, I'm wondering long have you played Mystic Messenger? Are you a new player? I would like to hear your story on how did you discover the game!
Heyyyy! I'm guessing that by the time this reaches you it will again be really late in your timezone..... I'm sorry for that TT. And don't worry! I know we all have our responsibilities! I don't mind however late your reply is! We can still talk whenever as long as our messages reach each other!
Right now, it's 7 PM where I live! I didn't check my tumblr the whole morning so I just saw your ask ;-; I think we both live in Asia. Am I correct? 👀
Ahhh I'm very happy if my spamming really makes the writers feel appreciated!!😭 Because that is my exact intention! They work so hard to give us content and keep the fandom alive! They love this game so much and I'm really grateful for all the work they put in for us. So I want to give them that love back ♡
Oh Jihyun is a very well written character and I appreciate him as well. I think his route is the best written out of all the characters with Saeyoung's being a close second! That said my favorite route is still Saeyoung 😂
I've been in the fandom for almost 2 years! I started playing towards the end of 2020 when the pandemic was still a huge thing and I rarely got to go outside. I actually started playing because I wanted to try something new! I'm fairly new to the otome fandom and Mysme was my first otome game!
I wasn't really into otome games before because I thought they were filled with unrealistic plot and pretentious pretty boys..... (yes I was an idiot) But honestly I don't think any other otome would've been able to draw me in as well as Mysme did.
Mystic Messenger instantly came to my mind when I wanted to download an otome. Because it was the only one I knew about.
At first I was really confused. Like how does this game even work? It just keeps on telling me to download stuff where's the gameplay?? Then one of my new friends said that they also play Mysme and they showed me how it works aaaand Mystic Messenger became our prime bonding activity!
Sooo that's how I started playing Mysme!! Thank you for bearing with my blabber! ><
Now, I want to know about your story. How long are you in the fandom? And how did you find Mystic Messenger? ^^

tell me about the fallout dnd campaign... *eyes emoji bc i'm on my laptop*
HEHEHE OK you don't have to tell me twice ! :3
sooooo first things first, the group consists of a hippie vault dweller (Joel), pre-war ghoul park ranger (Nettle), a girlfailure cowgirl (Andy), and a stubborn bos aspirant (Victoria). I'm literally kicking my feet in the air thinking about them rn
my character is Anderson (Andy for short) and wait. you're gonna love this. SHE RIDES A MECHANICAL HORSE. that's right folks, a giant giddyup buttercup!!!!! it's an absolute pain in the booty ass to draw but it's soooo worth it because it's cool as hell like I'll have to post some of my doodles soon so you can see
now, with 2 points in charisma, she's so. so bad at talking. she fails at pep talks, cannot rally a crowd to save her life, and always says the wrong thing at the wrong time. it never stops her from trying tho! one example of this is after Joel's vault was raided by the "legion" (WHAAAAT!!!! "what does that mean??" you dont get to know yet! cause I don't even really know yet 💀 anyway) she looks at the vault door on the ground and goes "well, you know what they say! one door is... um... blasted off it's hinges and... uh........ another...... um.......... opportunities!!" I LOVE HER !!!!!! I could talk about all the terrible ways she says things all day it's so freaking fun
HOWEVER. somehow, (luck?), it always works out one way or another. no matter how she butchers a speech, no matter how awkward an interaction is, it WORKS. tho people don't react the same way that they would to a more charismatic person, of course. it makes her more lovable, and people listen! for some reason.
she's not stupid, though, I want to make that clear. she's very smart when it comes to things other than talking 💀 with 8 intelligence points and tag skills in repair and science, she knows what she's doing! I mean, she built buttercup all by herself! the brotherhood keeps tabs on her because of her tech capabilities!
speaking of the brotherhood... her interactions with Vic(toria) are SO everything. I like to call Vic a bos pos because she really is a little piece of shit (lovingly) LOL and Andy just. torments her. like somebody threw a snowball at Vic in the vault (it's winter btw) (the dwellers weren't happy with her) and she was like. 'I'm going to handle this with dignity and grace. I am not going to react' and then Andy THROWS ANOTHER just to poke the bear. like girl 😭 or how they all need to use the bos terminals and so Vic is like "ok be normal guys let me do the talking" and before she can, Andy BURSTS through the doors like "I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO YOUR MANAGER" which she would not fucking say that normally but to embarass Vic? absolutely. especially since everyone there already KNOWS her and they're like 'Andy. David is literally in the other room. I don't get paid enough for this.' (and then she proceeds to call him Dave like they're old friends and Vic wants to kill herself and/or Andy at the same time)
now, what's ALSO fun is the interactions between Vic and Nettle. they HATE each other. I mean, obviously, cause Vic is the typical bos type of racist, but also because Andy tries SO desperately to keep things civil like "one big happy family" which we're actually seeing process with recently so !! yay !! Vic got radiation sickness one day and Nettle silently offered her some radaway like awww look at them go :3
Joel is another beast entirely. he doesn't know SHIT about the wasteland (typical vault dweller really) (which is also perfect because his player also doesn't know shit LOL) so he has us 3 idiots to rely on just because we happened to be nearby when his vault opened. his original goal was to set up supply chains because his vault's crops were dying and they have plenty of water to trade, which we dealt with pretty quick, but then we returned to find THE LEGION!!!! subsequently, his dad was stolen, the president (overseer, our dm hates when we call him the president but we do it anyway) was also stolen, and his life was turned upside down! yay!
so now, obviously, our goal is to save Joel's dad, the president, and whoever else the legion stole ! ngl it's been over 2 months since our last session 💀 but that just means I have more time to doodle things that happened previously! I'll post them after finals or something :) thanks for reading omg what do u think?? I'm not doing them justice really there are a lot more complexities but I guess that's the basics. also thank u for asking 🥺 I love talking about them and I will likely do it again LOL

in the name of fun what ifs, do you think that matt would ever allow a player at the table to play a villain or become adversarial to the group (personally i don't think so because of logistical constraints and he doesn't seem like that kind of dm) and if he did allow it, which cast or guest do you think would be most likely to do it?
...anon. I recognize that my patience, never a virtue with which I was graced in abundance, has been shorter than normal, and will be for a few weeks because this is an incredibly hectic month for me, and that is entirely my responsibility. I am trying so very hard to rein it in, and have considered turning off anon to remove temptation. But what, pray tell, the fuck, do you think Erika Ishii was doing last episode.
I think an "all characters become evil and then [footage of actually thinking through what this entails not found]" campaign would suck and generally be a massive disappointment, but depending on where exactly one draws the line on adversarial...anyone who has put in the narrative work could take on an adversarial role. Villainous is much harder and I feel like I keep saying this as of late, but this is just too dependent on the context to answer in the abstract. There could probably be a scenario where it worked, but chances are, that villain either leaves the group and the player rolls a new character, or the villain gets killed in pvp and the player rolls a new character. I have no doubt Matt could handle it logistically and the players handle it with appropriate sensitivity, but realistically, the character - or campaign - simply does not stick around long because there's very little to do or say with it. Not to mention the fact that I highly doubt most of the people calling for Corruption Campaign could actually stomach it, given the degree of handwringing and donning of sackcloth and ashes within the fandom over countless minor and justified conflicts or morally gray decisions.
This also relies on who you define as a villain: is Essek Thelyss a villain? Is he an adversary? Is he specifically those things to the Mighty Nein? Is he still a villain or adversary by the time he becomes a member of the party? Simply having an evil alignment doesn't make you the villain or even adversarial; Macaroni Samsonite is technically speaking, evil, but within the story told in the Darrington Brigade, he is neither villain nor adversary. Arkhan only becomes a villain/adversary in his very last move; until then he's quite helpful.

D&D Shenanigans
Was drawing my first D&D character and felt like sharing some funny stories from my first campaign.
The first time I played D&D was the beginning of 2023, and let me tell you that was the most fun I ever had that year.
I joined a Library D&D group, which had separated into two smaller groups because it was rather large and there were a few new players like myself. I was apart of a smaller group, usually there were about 4 of us who came on a regular basis. Most of my group already knew each other from outside of the Library, but they welcomed me into their group with open arms, something our DM probably regrets lol.
I played as a Female Rogue Wood Elf named Revan, because I was super into Knights of the Old Republic at the time. Another player, who I became friends with, named their Female Human Rogue Raven. Now, we kinda liked to role play a bit, so Raven and Revan became fast friends and partners in crime. Both of our characters had children, so they bonded over being moms, and both were thieves.
The other player was Female Mage (I forget what specifically) High Elf named Elcerine (Sorry if I butchered the spelling friend). El was pretty much the only character with a brain cell, and basically was the tired mom friend who did most of the work...except for that time she triggered a boss fight in out first session and got my character killed...... I'm not bitter lol. That was a whole thing, but our DM decided to reset the timeline so we're gonna ignore that.
Now, the main thing I want to share is when our party made it to a town that had Vampire problem. The premise is that our group were Vampire Hunters, for varying reasons, and we had to find and kill the two vampires in this town.
You see, if there's one thing you should know its that Raven and Revan were known for being a chaos duo. Raven literally ate cobblestone and purposely threw it up on El, we were below nothing.
We were short on coin, and bored, so we asked if there was any type of talent show or competition going on. Our DM, quite used to if not irritated by our antics, said sure. So Raven entered in the competition while Raven did a little pick-pocketing. I don't remember exactly what we rolled, but each one was between 15-20. Raven one the competition while I stole a good chunk of money, which we then split evenly.
You might think, alright sure, normal D&D story, that's not that wild. Here's where it get fun.
So our party then decided to continue the plot and we split up to do a little stakeout on the Vampires. I was with another player, but I can't remember if it was El or Riordan, a half-elf rogue. Rio didn't come often but when he did he joined in on the antics. So the Vampire I'm hunting makes an appearance and we kill them. I get a note from Raven asking for the Vamps hand, I have no clue as to what she wanted it for, but who am I to say no to my buddy. So I cut it off and put it in my inventory and don't think about it.
We meet up again and go to get the money from the bounty's. Raven then decides to steal the body of the vamp and try to collect the money for herself and I join her. So here we are, two rather short women running across town with a dead body while our teammates are chasing us. El surpasses me in the chase, more focused on Raven, so I did the most logical thing I could think of to slow her down.
I throw the hand I had cut off the Vampire at her, rolled a 19, and bitch-slapped her hard enough to knock her out.
The chase continues for awhile throughout town, the guards are just watching, horrified. El and Rio eventually manage to stop us and knock us out, dragging all three bodies behind them and dumping the Vampire's body with town guards and taking us to the Tavern.
This was sadly the last session we played before our group broke up. Both me and the DM moved to different states, but I'm still in contact with Raven. We draw each others characters and show each other memes that relate to our chaos duo energy.
While this has been the only time I've played, I look forward to finding a new group to have adventures with, even though I'll miss my first group the most. D&D really brings people together, I wish I had been allowed to play it sooner.
