#i hope this post makes sense
I think too many of you guys decide whether a character’s actions were good or bad using the perspective of other characters, instead of the perspective of the character who did said action.
You can acknowledge that a character did something that was shitty to another character while also acknowledging that they had justifiable reasons for doing it. Sometimes there are bad situations where nobody is truly in the wrong. You can also acknowledge that a character has the right to be mad at another character, even if said that character had justifiable reasons for doing something bad.

So you know how Lockwood and Lucy got white/grey streaks in both their hair after visiting the Other Side together in TCS??
Something about that reminds me a lot of Percy and Annabeth getting matching grey streaks in both of their hair after holding up the world in Titan's Curse. And like, not just the streaks in their hair, but also the experiences and the aftermath of them.
Like, I'm decently sure both Lockwood and Lucy and Percy and Annabeth were around the same age (I think Lockwood and Lucy were like 15, while Percy and Annabeth were 13-ish), but that's not really important.
Anyway, the matching grey/white streaks represent a traumatic event in each of their lives; for Percy and Annabeth, this was holding up Atlas' world (in Annabeth's case, for over 24 hours). And for Lockwood and Lucy, this was visiting the Other Side, which was, like Percy and Annabeth's situation, something that neither of them wanted to do but had to. (And idk if it's important or not, but in pjo, it's Percy taking the world from Annabeth to protect her, and in l&co, it's Lucy's spirit cape breaking, and Lockwood helping her under his to protect her. Not super important to what I'm saying, but just kind of a similarity.
Also!!! Both of them (percabeth and locklyle) bonded over these experiences; Lucy says multiple times in TCS that, after they go to the Other Side, even though her and Lockwood had always been close, they were closer now. Like there was something unspoken, an unspoken bond type of thing. She mentions them 'sharing looks' and how she learns to read his emotions better. Which, though they'd been close before and she'd been able to do that well already, this kind of supported and added to that.
I don't really remember (because it's been almost a year since I read Titan's Curse 😭), but I am decently sure Percy and Annabeth also bonded over this!!! They, obviously, had been close previously (just like Lockwood and Lucy), but this made them closer. Like now they had something special to kind of cement their friendship (and later on, relationship!!) but it also makes me think of, when Percy says in Chalice of the Gods, that he'd never thought of being with anyone else because he and Annabeth had had such shared experiences.
And it's also clear that, no matter if Lucy chooses to leave Lockwood and Co in previous books, (even though that comes before they go to the Other Side) she'll always find her way back to Lockwood (and George) because of their shared experiences.
Obviously, Percy and Annabeth have very traumatic shared experiences (not just what happened in the Titan's Curse, but also just going to Tartarus), but the same could be said for Lockwood and Lucy; take the Annabel Ward case - George wasn't there when the house burned down (though of course that wasn't his choice or his fault), and a few more cases.
So yeah, both Percy and Annabeth and Lockwood and Lucy get closer because of these horrible shared experiences, and the matching grey/white streaks in their hair is really only the beginning of the similarities between Percy and Annabeth and Lockwood and Lucy.

ok looking at the new pic of will, i was looking at the drawing that was behind him, so i googled for a clearer image. it’s interesting to me how the drawing will has in castle byers is the party going up against some sort of dog?? which in season 2 there were demo dogs. in the next picture it’s a bear and it looks like people around it?? maybe the party?? but the bear could represent a demogorgon as it’s the big beast after them. but it had me thinking about the painting will gave mike…

i know there’s theories about dragons being in season 5, but i’m thinking that the dragon is symbolic. i feel like each head represents something. maybe one head is the mindflayer, the other vecna, and who is the 3rd?? will we find out who the 3rd head is in season 5?? or maybe the dragon symbolizes just the mindflayer to say that the mindflayer has multiple sources for its wrath?? or is it like ASOIAF and it represents a prophecy and will is a part of fulling that prophecy 👀 anyways, i decided to google the symbolism of a 3-headed dragon and look what i found…
Tumblr media
the “shazki/byliny” being referred to as a human-like character with dragon-like traits… idk so maybe like vecna? dragons are described differently in each culture, but the most popular one is that dragons are intelligent, can communicate, and are evil.
in russia, dragons are represented as masters of weather or water source! very interesting about the water considering the questioning of where is water in the upside down… also, they are able to be romantically involved with humans!! hmm much to think about there in regards to henry and the creation of the other children at the lab (could the third head represent the lab??)… AND in russia, dragons are sometimes represented with 3 heads and is a man-like dragon who appears in russian. idk much to think about… i know dragons are a part of dungeons and dragons lore, but it is possible for the dragon in the painting to be symbolic of something more

IT'S THEORY TIME
So I was rewatching yesterday's episode and I realized something. Castor says that Lunar's powers are the same as Pollux's powers but all the astral body's powers are supposed to be different and it is never touched on again in the conversation.
What if Lunar's power isn't to control the weather but instead to copy the other astral body's power? It would make sense why Lunar has Pollux's powers because they only talked to Pollux and didn't talk to Castor until now and why Lunar's powers didn't activate until now because he never met any of the astral bodies, meaning they couldn't copy them. Now that Lunar has met Castor they might be able to copy Castor's power now.

Sometimes there's ships where you would be genuinely angry/upset if they weren't endgame and sometimes there's ships where you would be upset if they were endgame, but in another universe, they would make a great couple.

Eucatastrophe and Doctor Who
I have probably had this post sitting in my drafts folder since like 2014, but I think I'm finally going to finish it now for a bit of a belated Moffat Appreciation Day 2022. When I was originally writing this post I was thinking of this concept in regards to New Who as a whole at the time, but I think that I would like to instead focus on on specific story in Moffat's era now that I have had the chance to get a firmer grip on both the concept of eucatastrophe and the overall tone of both Davies and Moffat's eras.
So first of all, the concept of "eucatastrophe" was discussed by JRR Tolkien as being "the sudden happy turn in a story which pierces you with a joy that brings tears". Tolkien also argues that this effect of eucatastrophe is "the highest function of fairy-stories to produce".
Essentially, it is a point in the story where all hope seems lost but then out of that hopelessness, something magnificent occurs. To be clear, a eucatastrophe is not necessarily a straight forward happy ending and it also isn't necessarily without tragic elements. It almost requires them, actually.
I think the absolute clearest, though not the only example, of Moffat using this same concept is in "World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls".
Right from the start in this story the doctor, Bill, Missy, and Nardole discover that they have entered into a situation that is incredibly fraught with tension. It quickly deteriorates with Bill being shot and moved away from the main group, casting her into extremis, as the episode might call it. But even in the deep pits of the ship, Bill remains hopeful and full of goodness. She believes and hopes that the Doctor will come for her. And he does. But as we all know, he is too late by mere hours to save her from what appears to all the characters to be a hopeless situation from then on.
And the situation only deteriorates further with the unveiling of the Master and the plans of the Cybermen. By the time we get to The Doctor Falls, the story has so many tragic elements to it that it is difficult to see how it could have an outcome that is anything but tragic. The Cybermen are not primarily trying to conquer, simply trying to survive under horrible, inescapable conditions on a ship far too close to a black hole. Without access to the TARDIS, the doctor can do nothing for the villagers aside from buy them time. Missy's entire arc of growth is under threat of totally unraveling due to the appearance of her former self, and Bill is utterly trapped as a Cyberman. Oh, and the doctor is dying but holding back his regeneration so that he can help everyone else survive this desperate situation as best as he can.
The fleeting moments of hope offered in this episode are also almost all either snuffed out very quickly (such as when Missy chooses to stand with the Doctor, solidifying her arc, but is quickly taken out by her former self, leaving them both to die) or seem like they are nearly foolish to hope for at all given the circumstances (the doctor is given a small degree of hope by Bill's crying real tears as a Cyberman). The most realistic hope that they have and what the doctor, nardole, and Bill are working towards for most of the episode is the hope of moving the villagers a few floors up and slowing down the cybermen, even if they can't stop them for good. This small kindness is what the doctor's whole speech to the master and missy is about. He knows he can't win. He knows he is trapped and will die here. But he is going to do what he thinks is right regardless, without hope, without witness, without reward. Bill by this point has also lost all hope that she can be saved and make it out of this tragedy and she plans to go down fighting the Cybermen as well alongside the Doctor because she doesn't want to live if she can't be herself.
However, as dreadful as all that may be, the absolute most hopeless and tragic part of the episode comes when the doctor appears to have died in the explosion that takes out most of the Cybermen, choosing not to regenerate. He utters possibly the saddest line the doctor has ever said and the next time we see him, Bill has found his body in the wasteland left behind by the explosion. Bill is in complete and utter despair at this point, crying over the doctor's body, looking up at the "sky" (really the top of the ship) practically begging, nearly praying for help with her tears. She has nothing in this moment. There is nothing she can do and as far as she knows there is no help coming.
But then, suddenly, help does come. At the point where the episode reaches peak despair, a corner is turned. Bill is saved by virtue of exactly the doctor's earlier foolish hope. Her tears have called Heather to her and Heather takes Bill from the cybersuit and reforms her, giving her new life and even the choice to be human again in the future if she wants. They save the doctor and bring him back to his TARDIS and while it is unclear to them whether he will survive, Bill continues to hope that she will see him again and leaves him her tears as a reminder of that hope.
When I first watched this episode, I very much experienced the feeling that Tolkien describes in his definition of eucatastrophe. Bill had been through so much that seeing her be saved by Heather and save the Doctor in turn brought me to tears. I mean, I was already in tears because of the peak despair moment, but these were different tears. They were hopeful, nearly joyful. And something that solidified the way I feel about this story was Moffat's later interview where he says quite plainly that "Doctor Who is a big hearted, optimistic show that believes in kindness and love and that wisdom will triumph in the end. I don’t believe it’s the kind of show that says there are bitter, twisted, nasty endings because it’s not. It’s not gritty; it’s aspirational. It says, ‘It can work. And wisdom and kindness will triumph. And love will always come through in the end.’ I think there aren’t enough people or enough shows saying that and I’m damned if Doctor Who is going to join in with the general chorus of despair."
Moffat masterfully managed to produce the "highest function of fairy-stories" in this episode. It is a masterpiece of emotion, tragedy, ethics, and hope against despair and even 5 1/2 years later I still cry about this episode every time I think of it. We need more stories with these kinds of endings in the world.

So, hear me out. If I shipped Richie and Tina, no one would call me delulu. Why? Bc the ship has no merit and will likely not happen.
Why, then, is it delulu to ship Syd and Carmy? If they’re about as likely to happen as Tina and Richie, then meet me with that same energy. Disagree then move on with your own life.
Instead, I am met with immense backlash, being told I’m not media literate, that I’m projecting (???), that we should see more platonic relationships on screen, etc.
Babes if the ship was as likely as Richie and Tina then let me live in peace. Why does it bother you so much that we think these two will get together if it’s so obvious that they won’t, right? 🤪

If it's true what Domenicali has said that so many venues and countries want to stage an F1 race, why can't we just have a rotating calender? Have all these venues stage races on alternate years? Keep the set races on the calender that stay each year but have the others been on the schedule every other year? That way all these venues that apparantly want to hold an F1 race get to do so, but there isn't the higher risk of burnout from F1 staff and fans because of the massive calender and F1 staff actually get time to develop the cars and have time off. There is no need to add more races to the set calender every year. 23 is plenty enough already.

Serious question What do you think Mike's relationship with the other bad family members are like? (DC x FNAF)
Okay I love this question!
First off Bruce
Bruce already wants to adopt him so badly but it only gets worse after every fight with William. like in the Batcave post-battle he goes “Michael…” and then Mikes just gone fully disappeared peaced out (he snuck away while Bruce was brooding)
but if the battle with William's creations was emotionally taxing enough on Michael he goes to Bruce’s office instead of home and waits for him to come up (this happens enough for Bruce to check after every fight with William) and they just talk and/or hug for a while sometimes Mike crys himself to sleep in his arms but most of the time he’s stable enough to go to Tim’s room or home with Henry
Michael has a very Steph Like situation he has a guardian and a roof over his head but still spends most of his time at the manner and relies on Bruce as a father figure he loves Henry obviously but let’s be honest Henry is not stable enough to be a dad to Michael
Now in one version of this au! Tim! (They’re still best friends in the other version obviously)
Their boyfriends. the end. Moving on.
Okay I'm joking
Their boyfriends and They're dating Bernard.
Tim realized he was queer a lot earlier than canon because of Michael. they met when he was Robin in a very similar manner to him and Steph (this is where the sexuality crisis begins) various vigilante shenanigans later Tim realizes he feels the same way about Michael that he does Steph has his crisis and realizations then keeps it inside and buries it deep (not because of internalized homophobia because he has a girlfriend)
And then realizes he also has a massive crush on Bernard his totally Straight Friend who would definitely never feel the same and already has a “crush” on Darla (meanwhile Bernard ❤️👄❤️)
Then BAM! Bruce had Michael enrolled at his school without telling him (this is during the Robin!Steph era which I think lasts longer in this au?) and obviously Michael joins the friend group (fuck canon Bernard doesn’t have a car in this au) and becomes the designated driver he takes them everywhere but the arcade and they don’t actually start dating until post Red Robin (2009) but there was definitely tension
Also Michael definitely convinced Tim to go back to school post Red Robin (probably by going “sigh I wish I could go back to school” “sigh I miss driving you and Bernard around after school” “sigh- And so on)
I’m basically writing fanfiction at this point I think it’s time to stop for now. I’ll come back to this post eventually.
I think. I hope.

I had a depressing thought
one of old Moon's wishes was to have a body to not share a body but there was only one part of his life that wish came true because if you think about it old Moon shared a body with Sun then had his own body then shared it with Lunar and then shared it with KC, he died in the same state when he was first made, sharing a body, something he didn't want
But hey if you want some comfort out of this post since old moon shared a body for most of his life he never got to face his trauma alone.

Hi hi!!
So recently I've gotten just a tiny amount of attention recently (which is so awesome cool yippee!) And I've decided to make a little about/get to know me type post so that way I feel a little bit more transparent and you guys get to know me a little better!
Introduction
So as everyone knows my name is Clover! But I have two other names too, Clementine and Dustin. I don't have a preference for these names at all but if you had to ask me which one was my favorite I'd have to choose Clementine lol. But no matter what you can call me any of those names!
I am 18 years old (though everyone both online and irl automatically assume I'm in my 20's I have no idea how and why I'm literally the silliest creature) and my pronouns are they/she, again I don't have a preference to which pronoun is used so feel free to pick one
A little bit more about me
I know I don't have to share this but I feel since my dms are open to anyone it should be at least shared! I have ADHD and Autism, it sometimes does make talking a little bit harder, as sometimes i will forget to respond and if I do just message me again, I promise you're not bothering I'm just forgetful. I also do tend to have a "wait your turn to talk" issue (which has improved greatly but still there lol) but that goes more so for like a VC type deal (which I am open to those too)
Secondly, I don't have much as far as DNI (other than the basics like if you're an asshole, racist, any kind of hateful phobic yahda yahda) but if you are 15 or below please do not interact with me personally (I would also advise to not interact with my page). The only trigger I have is real world pregnancy stuff, anything that has to do with irl pregnancy I really don't want to hear it, it makes me feel uncomfortable. I would also appreciate it if you use tone indicators, if you don't that's fine and dandy but sometimes i will ask if something is a joke or sarcasm.
My hobbies
Here's some things I like to do!
Drawing (big one, digital and traditional)
Playing Video games (I'll get to what my favorites are)
Writing(I'm still working on this, I'm really bad at it but I like writing characters, talking about scenarios, and sometimes rp)

I can't remember every thing I'm into, but you can always bring up stuff in conversation or if I don't know a piece of media I would love to learn more about it!
So I think this is about it, I would love talk to everyone sometime! I'm really open to making new friends n stuff and I would even love it more talking about those medias/ ocs ^ ^!!!!!!

Love it when my grandmother's at the thrift store that she volunteers at and she tries to communicate with a customer in Spanish but she doesn't know Spanish so it ends up being Spanglitalian because she knows just a tiny bit of Spanish but she bases some(most) of it off her first language, which is Italian, but also straight up uses English for half of it.
It's very confusing if you're tryna figure out what she's saying but it's also extremely funny
