Finals Week

This is a really self-indulgent semi sequel to this ficlet I wrote a little while ago about theatre major Bucky and frat bro Clint. Apparently this is gonna be the AU i use for pointless fluffy comfort now bc I’m stressed with finals essays and these boys are helping.

I definitely shifted some background characters around since the last fic sorry steve but i don’t super care so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bucky spins his desk chair around in a lazy circle, watching the moon shining through his apartment window blur into a bright stripe with the rest of his surroundings. Someone on the floor above him has tuned their Spotify to some kind of low-fi study playlist, and Bucky feels genuinely relaxed for the first time in… months, actually.

This last week has been rough. Nearly all of his finals ended up scheduled on the same Friday and Natasha had to actually hold him back from leaping out the library window on Thursday night. It worked out alright. The Lighting Design 201 presentation had gone off shockingly well, the History of Stage Design final was way easier than expected, and his group project for Gender in Shakespeare really pulled through in the end. He half-assed the conclusion for his Dramaturgy essay, but there was only so much he could say about August Wilson without the professor realizing he was just spitting his class notes back at him. So now he’s done. A whole five days before the semester ends, too. It feels like a thousand-pound weight has been lifted off Bucky’s shoulders. He hums along to the slow jam echoing down from his upstairs neighbor, scooping up his phone to check his messages.

Nat (3 hours ago) Congrats on being done with finals

Nat (3 hours ago) If you didn’t turn that gd Fences essay in on time I will climb in through your window and strangle you in your sleep

Steve (2 hours ago) Hey! Me and some buddies were planning on going out for pizza around 7 tomorrow. Do you wanna come with? You can bring Clint so you don’t have to listen to grad students all night.

Steve (2 hours ago) Please say yes. I don’t want to listen to grad students all night.

Nat (42 minutes ago) Have you heard from Clint? He hasn’t answered my texts in hours. Not sure if I should be concerned

Nat (40 minutes ago) Send him a dick pic and see if that gets a response

Clint (3 minutes ago) im fckin dropping uot

Bucky rolls his eyes, grabbing the keys off his desk and pulling on his sneakers. He would have preferred to avoid the Greek side of campus today if at all possible, but he has an idiot boyfriend to console.

Beta Theta Pi is, as far as frat houses go, not the absolute worst. It had still been kind of a shock when Bucky realized Clint actually lives up to his frat bro vibes. Not only lives up to them but embraces them with the same enthusiasm Clint has for any other thing he cares about. Bucky could probably do PR for the Beta charity drives by now after how much Clint has gushed about them. Lord knows he’d do a better job than fucking Pietro.

Bruce answers the door on Bucky’s third knock, looking surprised to see him and vaguely stoned.

“Bucky?” he says after he gets a few blinks out of his system. Bucky wonders if it’s such a good idea to be smoking in his letterman jacket. Coach Fury’s been known to have a nose like a bloodhound. “Clint didn’t say you were coming over.”

“Has he said anything at all in the last twelve hours?” Bucky asks, shouldering past Bruce because he knows he won’t move on his own. Bruce is actually his favorite of Clint’s brothers. He’s chiller than any offensive lineman has a right to be. He does yoga, for fuck's sake. It’s probably the copious amounts of weed that mellow him out in the end, though.

“I dunno,” Bruce says, still blinking his way back to the present. He gives Bucky a slow smile as he shuts the door behind them. “Do you want tea? I made tea.”

“Maybe later,” Bucky says, because he’s just spotted Rumlow studying at the dining table and that’s the one Beta guy he genuinely doesn’t want to see today. He heads for the stairs.

“Wanna play Smash Bros?” Bruce asks as Bucky bolts for the second floor.

“Maybe later,” he shouts over his shoulder.

Clint’s room is at the far end of the hallway, and Bucky frowns at the closed door. Clint’s the kind of endearingly codependent guy that keeps his door open unless absolutely necessary, never wanting to miss out on anything that might be blocked by a thin layer of wood.

He knocks more as a warning than anything, letting himself in and shutting the door softly behind him. All the lights are off and nothing but moonlight illuminates Clint spread dramatically across the floor, staring up at his ceiling fan like he’s hoping it’ll fall on him.

“Fucking Christ,” Bucky mutters, mostly because he’s not sure Clint even heard him come in.

“I’m gonna die,” Clint answers from the floor. “Statistics is actually gonna kill me.”

“You can’t die,” Bucky says, leaning back against the door. “My mom will be crushed if I don’t bring you home for spring break.” The moonlight is making the angles of Clint’s face look especially soft, and Bucky takes a moment to watch him pout before sinking down onto the floor.

“No, it’s too late. I’m dying,” Clint says, shifting to make room on the rug as Bucky crawls over to him. He wraps his arm around Bucky’s shoulders and plants a quick kiss on his forehead before turning his glazed look back up at the ceiling fan. “You’ll come to my funeral, right?”

“Obviously,” Bucky snorts, sliding his hands under Clint’s t-shirt. He knows his fingers are ice cold, but Clint doesn’t even flinch.

“Wear black, okay? Something sexy, so my enemies get jealous of the hot piece of ass I bagged before kicking the bucket.”

“Should I cry?” Clint hasn’t seen Bucky act yet, but he’s totally going to audition for The Laramie Project next semester and blow his fucking mind.

“As much as possible. Maybe mention how much you’ll miss my massive dick.”

“I will,” Bucky says emphatically. He looks up at the ceiling fan and takes a deep breath, doing his best to bring tears to his eyes. “I’ll never love another dick as much as I loved his.” Bucky’s voice comes out impressively choked up. “I’m cursed to a life of longing. The only man who can satisfy me is lost forever.” Bucky blinks a single tear down his cheek, and Clint’s staring at him when he finally turns back.

“Holy shit,” Clint says, moving to wipe at Bucky’s cheeks like he’s actually worried about him. “Do exactly that, please. When did you learn how to cry on command?”

“When my third sister was born,” Bucky answers smugly. “I didn’t appreciate how much more attention tutus and pigtails got, so I had to find my own edge.”

“Becca’s sent me a few pictures that say you still cashed in on tutus and pigtails.” Clint rolls onto his side so he can face Bucky better, pulling him closer with a hand around his waist.

“I rocked those butterfly clips better than she could ever dream,” Bucky says, and Clint buries his laugh in Bucky’s shoulder. Bucky runs a hand up and down Clint’s back. “What day is your Stats final?” That earns him a despondent groan.

“Monday. I’m so gonna fail.” Clint’s voice is muffled by Bucky’s sweatshirt. “Why the fuck did I decide on a Business major?”

“Because you’re smart,” Bucky insists. Clint shakes his head weakly against his shoulder and Bucky smacks him lightly on the arm. “You are. You’re smart and practical, and once you have your diploma you and Nat can move to New York and open your gym.”

Clint mumbles something into his sweatshirt that Bucky doesn’t quite catch.

“What?” he asks, and he tugs the back of Clint’s shirt just enough to get him to scoot backward and speak clearly.

“I said you’ll be there too,” Clint repeats, rubbing his thumb back and forth across Bucky’s side and making an effort to keep his eyes anywhere but on Bucky’s. “Designing costumes on Broadway. Having a meltdown every other day.”

“Exactly,” Bucky says, and Clint looks up long enough to give him a hesitant smile. “And on tech week I’ll gripe to you all night long and make you rub my feet.”

“Sounds like a dream,” Clint says, and his voice is too soft to be joking. Bucky leans forward to kiss him. Clint brings his hand up to Bucky’s face, brushing his thumb over his cheek while they lose themselves for a moment or two.

“It’ll be awesome,” Bucky says once he’s pulled away. “And all you have to do is pass one dumb Stats final. It’s all easy street after that.”

“No it’s not,” Clint says, but his face doesn’t seem quite as pinched with worry. Bucky shrugs one shoulder.

“Maybe not, but this is all you have to think about right now. And even if you don’t pass, which you will, Momma Barnes will be waiting at the train station, ready to fill that void of disappointment with cookies and brisket. They offer Stats over the summer. You can even get Bruce to help you study.”

Clint smiles a little easier and presses a kiss to Bucky’s cheek.

“Bruce offered to help me study earlier this week, actually.” Bucky raises his eyebrows at him.

“And you’re not taking him up on it? Bruce is pretty much Einstein. You know that, right? What are you doing in here when you could be getting schooled on Stats in the library?”

“Well, you’re here,” Clint says and Bucky just knows his smile goes all dopey at that. “And I think even Einstein would struggle with Stats after smoking that much weed.”

“You’ll study with him tomorrow though, right?” Bucky’s not going to let Clint throw him off that easy. Clint rolls his eyes, but he nods. “Steve invited us to get pizza tomorrow. I’ll pay, as a reward for studying.”

“Steve invited us, or Steve invited you?” Clint asks, scrunching up his nose. Bucky snorts, shoving at Clint half-heartedly.

“Steve invited us. To go out with him and his friends. I dunno why you hate him so much. He thinks you’re pretty cool.”

“I don’t hate him,” Clint says defensively, but he still shifts forward to wrap his arms possessively around Bucky. “I just want to make sure he knows that the position of Bucky’s Buff Blond Boyfriend is already happily filled. Also, fuck him. I’m really cool.”

“You’re ridiculous,” Bucky says. He’s kind of stuck in Clint’s steel trap of a hug. “It’s not like that. First of all, I don’t date grad students, and second of all we totally have more of a big brother-little brother sort of thing going on. I think he’s more into Tony, anyway.”

“Aw, gross,” Clint laughs, letting Bucky out of his death grip. “They deserve each other.”

“People probably say the same thing about us,” Bucky says. Clint grins at him, opening his mouth to share some kind of smart-ass response. A knock on the door cuts him off and makes them both jump.

“Do you guys have pants on?” Bruce’s voice comes through the door way louder than necessary. “If you don’t, sorry. Keep doing your thing or whatever. We’re starting a new Smash tournament, though, if you wanna join.”

“No, Bruce. C’mon man,” Bucky hears Sam say, and there’s the sound of scuffling feet like Sam’s trying to yank Bruce back from the door. “They’re probably having their own Smash tournament in there.”

“Bucky would have invited me,” Bruce insists, and Clint sits up with a laugh.

“We have pants on, Bruce,” he calls, and the door opens a moment later.

“Are you guys just sitting in the dark?” Bruce frowns down at Bucky, who’s still sprawled across the rug.

“Yeah,” Clint says, and then because he catches Bucky’s meaningful look, “Are you busy tomorrow? Think you could help me with Stats?”

“Yeah,” Bruce says, smiling easily. Bucky thinks Clint looks relieved, like he actually thought Bruce might say no. “We can go to the library.”

“Alright, Bruce.” Bucky stands up, offering a hand and hauling Clint to his feet too. “Let’s smash. I call the pink controller.”

the rivalry began one day when you were sitting in the library at your normal seat, studying for your next exam

and you usually go to the library everyday because when you’re at home you can’t seem to stay focused because of your roommate who’s always inviting her friends in your dorm at midnight and blasting Katy Perry

so the library is your go-to study spot and it’s always been for the past school years

you would always plop yourself at the table in the deserted corner of the library where all of the boring textbooks are

until that one day you came to your table, ready to cram in your last minute studying when you see a boy????? already sitting there????????

aND YOURE LIKE WHOMSTDVE WOULD DARE TAKE MY SPOT

the boy is wearing this plaid shirt with the buttons near his collar not buttoned up

and he’s super handsome

and he’s like reading this small book and he’s so immersed in the story that he doesn’t even realize your presence until you set your backpack on the table and clear your throat

and with your most polite voice you’re like “you’re sitting in my seat, can you please move to the other chair?”

bc the table you sat at only had one (1) chair and all of the other tables had people at them (ew)

but the brunette haired boy just glances at you for a secOND then returns to his book aND YOURE LIKE ???!???!!!???

so you repeat yourself and you’re like “sIR this is my seat!!!! pLs move im dying”

“i don’t see your name on it” he mutters without batting an eye anD you’re like so done and you’re about to yell at him until your phone rings and ur like brb lemme delay this ass beating later

when you check, it’s your mom & ur like sh00t so you blast outside of the library and temporarily forget your anger

so the next day, you return to your table only to find the SAME EXACT boy sitting in your seat this time with a different book

and you don’t even feel like arguing you just sit at another table and do your work

...although you prefer your own isolated table because nobody else sits there

and from then on it becomes like a race everyday to see who can get to the table first

if you win, then the boy ends up sitting at the other tables with the loud teenagers and you swear you can feel him glaring into your head from across the room

but if he wins, you have to sit there and now it’s your turn glaring at him

and the weird thing is that you two never directly communicated with each other?

you don’t even recall hearing his voice tbh

it’s like this unspoken rivalry ,,, and even though it’s super irritating how he snatches your table,,, it adds a dash of playfulness and fun into your boring school life

so this game you two play goes on for weeks until one stressful day

your teacher yelled at you in front of the class which made you late to your next class which led to another mad teacher and so on

you left your binder of homework at your dorm so you got marked off on your grades

your roommate left the house in a hot mess after a slumber party she had last night

and it’s just,,,,, everything is crashing down at you at once and it’s just so,, suffocating

and you’ve managed to hold everything in until up to moment you’re in the library

the minute you reach your table you just collapse on the ground from exhaustion

you hear a yell and you feel an awkward hand on your back

and in a sweet voice you hear “hey!!?? are you okay? (y/n) answer me”

and when you look up you’re surprised to see the boy who’s been snatching your table looking down at you with concern swimming in his eyes

and wow,, he’s so good looking up close

then you see a blush creep up on his cheeks and you’re like shIT i’m staring

you nod shyly and tell him you’re just tired af because it was a rough day

next thing you know he’s leading you to a convenience store and buying you a cup of latté

he introduces himself as eunwoo & you remember that he said your name earlier so you’re like “hey eunwoo how did you know my name??”

and he gets flustered and is like “uHhh you’re really well known... around the campus”

and even though you’re like hMMM you let it slide and you end up spilling your feelings to him

feelings about how you’re pressured for the future and how school is a pain in the ass

and the whole time he just listens and nods his head while giving commentary like “oh that’s horrible” or “wow i cant believe she did that”

by the end of it you’re both done with your drinks and you feel so so much more better

then you see eunwoo hesitating and you’re like ?!!!

he was actually contemplating whether he should hug you or not but mans is too awkward for that

he ends up just ruffling your hair

WHICH makes your heart go dududududu

and you’re like “thanks for listening... i feel so much better because of you.”

eunwoo just smiles and says something along the lines of “o-of course”

when you check the time you see that it’s close to your curfew so you both wave goodbye to each other

the next day, you see that eunwoo is still sitting at your table, only this time there’s an extra chair on the other side

so when you approach him he immediately shoots up and is like “i got you an extra chair so we don’t have to fight anymore”

& ur like oh.. o h okay we should’ve done this earlier

you two spend most of your time in peaceful silence while you study and he reads a different book everyday

occasionally you would steal glances of him because he looks... so attractive... just READING

and while you’re not paying attention eunwoo also stares at you bc wow.. you look so beautiful focused on your homework

there would be moments where you two would catch each other staring which leads to two very flustered faces and awkward tension

but trust me it’s adorable

even the librarian is cooing in the background

eventually eunwoo asks for your number and tries to make an excuse like “oH just in case you’re stressed out again”

in reality he just wants to talk to you

and when you smirk and say “oh okay eunwoo are we stepping up this friendship??”

he’S LIKE W O T .... PPFFFT seriouslyhowdidyouknow

and since eunwoo is rlly romantic he would send text messages like “did you eat?” or “stop studying and sleep”

and it’s so sweet and considerate you feel your heart bursting with so much love how can someone be so cute??????

occasionally you’d flirt around to purposely make him flustered

like you’d hold his hand randomly in the library when it’s “cold”

or you would randomly text him “i miss you”

the day he asks you out is when you two are talking on the phone at midnight bc eunwoo called you to stop you from studying

and while you’re talking you hear his sleepy voice say “you’re so adorable i just want to hug you”

and by this point how is this considered platonic AAAAAAAAA

you’re about to respond playfully but he continues and is like “i really like you”

AND YOURE SIDDJSOKASKS SCREKAING INSIDE

but in real life you’re like “i do too :)”

the next day he finds you outside your dorm and hugs you tightly before you can even get out a “good morning”

he tries to get you a new drink every morning but fails many times since your classes are so early and eunwoo just caNT wake up that early

and since you’re dating now he moved his chair next to yours so you’re both on the same side of the table :))

you two share earbuds and alternate from each other’s playlists everyday

he introduces you to his loud friends and his roommate Moonbin

moonbin is like a wild version of eunwoo and loves teasing you two every chance he gets

he’d use eunwoo’s embarrassing childhood stories as blackmail if eunwoo didn’t cook him something

regardless though, he would still tell you about that time eunwoo married a tree in elementary school dkzjsoakao

eunwoo as a boyfriend would try not to be clingy but he just can’t help but squish your cheeks and wrap his arms around you bc you’re juST so cute <3

you’d listen to him rant about books and give you summaries about each book he’s reading

how he manages to finish one whole book each day is still a mystery to you

but because of that he’s literally so smart

he excels in literature and language and leverything

he’s just a little... weak... in math LMAO

a lot of girls would glare at you two bc they’re jealous you got the hottest guy on campus and they’d probably be like “you don’t deserve eunwoo” a lot

and that honestly ... lowers your self esteem so so much because you understand why you don’t deserve him

this leads to an argument you two have where he’s telling you that you deserve him just as much as he deserves you!!!!!!!!

of course, this takes a lot of time for you to learn but eventually you’ll feel like you Deserve him because yes!! yes you do!!

it’s also tiring for eunwoo to always be seen as the model and the perfect and hot guy of the school ,,,, that’s why he likes you so much

you treat him like the most precious human being and are genuinely interested in him... not just his looks

you assure eunwoo so many times that even if he looked like your foot you would love him as much as you do now

aND that makes him giggle and wow he’s so in love with you

Oh where do I begin...

Hello, again.

Yes, I’m probably here because I’m sad and down and that I thought I should start writing here again as often as possible.

Rarely do I feel this deep sadness I’m prone to diagnose depression. It’s most likely not. But how it is that whenever I feel this it also feels like its been always like this the whole time but I was just ignoring it? 100 consecutive “ok” days then came 1 sad day and feels like it was really 101 sad days realized only on the 101st day. ?? Am I making sense? Or I’m just really bad at this.

Nonetheless, I’m here again. My saddest days makes me write and makes me pray. My saddest days with only one guy on my head. Oh Lord, I will pray.

One of the worse part of my sadness is probably not being able to describe it with words. I’m struggling right now to share what my heart has been aching for.

I feel alone. Unappreciated. I feel so little. I feel

—— opened my tumblr to start writing for this year 2021 and try to write as much as i can but was prompted to open my unsaved draft and here it is. Cant even remember when i wrote this one but still feels exactly the same lol.

Yup, up there is pretty relevant. I wasn’t able to finish that but here i go again. Writing on the 2nd day of January at 4:30am. I woke up around 12:30am browsed my instagram and still up until now.

Oh wait. I’m not sure but i think i want to write a diary like or journal like? I dont know. Im probably aiming for that but let me try.

So yeah. Im here again because im sad.

Hubs acting different the past days. Barely talking to me. Does not even look at me (honestly forget the last time he looks at me the same way he does when we were still dating.) There is so many things and stories i can tell why we are like this now but will probably save that for another time or maybe not at all because again im bad at this and also i dont have that much time.

At 10pm I put E to bed. As expected I’d fall asleep at the same time but I initially plan not to because 1) still need to finish washing the feeding bottles and 2) want to have sex (to cheer up hubs bc he’s being distant and sad). As i put E to bed the Hubs started drinking his beer (he told me ahead he’d be drinking). When I woke up at 12:30 hubs already snoring beside me. I spent almost 3hrs on my phone before i realized i wasnt able to finish washing the baby’s bottle so i got up. Oh wait, before i did that.. i did something else. Hubs phone was on beside him (he’s not like that btw, he always locks his phone before sleeping) so i turned it off. But got curious as to the last app opened on his screen bc i wasnt able to check it. So i opened it again, its on safari on private mode with 2 tabs. One is 9gag and the other is porn (yep.) then checked other apps opened. Saw messages. Saw his last messages. He sent drunk texts to his mom’s number. He sent something like “im a bad husband” which got me bothered. So after that i checked his messenger (just checked who he’s been messaging, didnt open any messages) -nothing there. Went on his fb and checked his activity log. (Yes this is how girls do it why we’re often jokingly called fbis) i found out he’s been liking reacting and commenting on girls posts. Im not quite sure thats what he meant on the text he sent to his mom. Sure it does not feel right to me but i guess im not surprised anymore? Not not surprised by the action but not surprise with the shit he’d do anymore. I should have seen this coming. I knew him. He is unstable. I dont know why i think he’d changed at all. Laughs on thinking a baby would change him. Again, i meant is that this guy i married would do whatever he wants to without thinking over it, without thinking on the consequences, without thinking of other peoples feelings, yeah.. so back to my story. After all that, i got up and out of the room. At the sala, I found out hubs finished almost 2L of beer. He only had 1l bc thats what he bought at the store earlier. Soooo i then checked the cctv. Saw him went out and buy another beer and lots of junk foods. Saw him watching animr, scrolling fb and sending that text to his mom. Saw him had a little breakdown. Saw him recovered and watched anime again..

Im sure this does not picture the life i live now but honestly its very lonely and sad everytime my hubs act out. I just couldnt be myself anymore. Cant be chatty. Cant be in high spirits. And i myself has been feeling down too. My daughter is amazing. A ball of sunshine. And makes me feel sad too that im not on my best self for her. Wish husband realizes that too. Being not the best version of himself for her daughter. But we libed differently right? He probably has another perspective on this.

Cant help but question myself though. I admittedly put my 100% being a mom to E that I have very little time for my own and almost no time for my husband but had I not changed at all, will he still be the same sweet guy he used to be? Because i dont think he is. The more i get to know him, the more of his inner self shows. Almost all of it i dont like if not all. Will share some other time about that.

5:10am now. Need to sleep. I wonder who can wake up early for the baby later and prepare breakfast and all. Wish its him because id be lazy. Wish its me so i can be just productive. We’ll know later. Nyt

Im sorry, but can i ask you something about abuse? I dont know if im being abused, i feel bad for even considering it. My mom ignores me when i ask how her day was, and if i ask her to do something she makes me feel bad about it because she buys me things i don't even ask for. She'll talk to me but only when she feels like it. Ive done the housework since i can remember and i can't ever do anything for myself, i think because i only know how to take care of her and my sister. (1)

(2) she makes me feel awful about my inability to finish my school work or study for my driving test, but at the same time i do have time to do it, but no drive. My future doesn't matter to me at all. Everything around the house that goes wronh is automatically my fault. Recently i confronted my autistic sister about her not eating and it upset her, and my mom yelled at me about it even though i was just worried for her. Im starting to think we only matter when what we do affects her.(3) in her defence, she's a single mother suffering from depression and anxiety and she does support us and buy us luxuries like my phone and computer and new clothes, and she paid for me and my friend to go to a concert awhile ago. I feel like a bad person for thinking she might be abusing me, but now she's making my nana feel worthless and annoying like she has me, and i think i'm starting to see her games. At the same time, i'm only 16, so i might be blowing things out of proportion.(4) i'm gonna leave it there. She shouldn’t be blaming everything on you. And I think it’s also really neglectful of her to not realize that there’s a reason that you aren’t able to pass your classes? Like stuff like that doesn’t just happen for no reason, and she is ignoring the root cause -- I’m guessing it’s your stress -- and she is ignoring the emotional reasons that you are probably not doing well in school. If she isn’t interested in making sure you’re okay and the real reasons for this, she’s very self-absorbed.Here’s some possible psychological stuff on your mom that I was kind of getting from your messages. Sorry I might be totally off so if I am just ignore this. It sounds like your mom is having a lot of problems of her own, and isn’t dealing with them first, so she’s ignoring all of her responsibilities and pretending they don’t exist. And it sounds like she buys you random things to make herself feel better, so she can say she’s a good parent, and maybe tries to do something nice because she secretly feels bad? But she probably also thinks that buying you things will also get her out of the other parenting things she’s obligated to do, and that if she buys you stuff once in a while, she won’t have to do the things she really doesn’t want to. It’s also probably a subconscious (or even just conscious) mind game thing, where she thinks if she buys you stuff once in a while, you’ll stay and won’t leave. She wants to keep you there forever with her and drain your energy, so that you’ll be taking care of her and she doesn’t have to take responsibility. But she is your caregiver, and is supposed to be taking care of you, and she hasn’t been. It also seems like she’s been doing this for awhile, probably your whole life. She’s making you the parent, making you responsible for your sister and for her, and your mom is acting like she’s the victim and is pushing her problems on you, making you deal with them. In a healthy family, there are clear boundaries, and it kind of seems like there are no boundaries. While most of the time your mom is making you the parent, this time when you tried to get your sister to eat and were parenting in a way your mom didn’t like, your mom stepped in and was like “wtf I’m the parent this is my role so stop it because you’re not doing it how I want you to.” And I can understand how shitty and confusing it must be for you, my parents do that a lot -- it’s really confusing as a kid to have your role be like a parent most of the time with no clear boundaries, and then randomly your parents step in and take that role away, when you’re used to it.But your mom’s psychological problems don’t excuse her behavior at all. It doesn’t invalidate the abuse, because it sounds like abuse. Her depression and anxiety don’t excuse anything either. There are tons of people with depression and anxiety, that don’t do as shitty things as she does. It might honestly just come down to that she’s just kind of a shitty person, and doesn’t care about other people as much as herself, and won’t care for her family. I hope you’re not offended by that, but she doesn’t sound like a great mom at all.Maybe you’re only 16, but also you’ll be an adult in two years. I’m 16 too, but by the age of 16, people usually have their head on straighter, and kind of have more of an idea of what they want. At least that’s what my therapist told me. I know it’s hard not to believe your own thoughts because your mom might make you think that all of your ideas are invalid because you’re “not old enough” or “flawed” in some way (even if she didn’t say that, that might be the message you’re taking from it), but trust me when I say that for a lot of things, you’re able to trust your own judgment. You’ve come this far.I believe in you and you will make it through this! You only have two more years left until you can leave, and then this will all be over. And you say you can’t do anything for yourself, but I know you can and I know you’ll make it, because you were taking a step for yourself by sending me these messages and trying to figure your life out :)If you’re worried about not knowing how to take care of yourself, I would focus for now on becoming more independent from your mom, the most you can be, so that you’ll be prepared for the outside world when you turn 18 (or whenever you decide to move out). The internet can be your parent if she won’t be. You can learn almost anything about everything with a quick search, and you can teach yourself how to take care of yourself and support yourself.
