I'm with you there on preferring bottom!Alastor and getting squicked out by top!Alastor. The squick is worse for me when searching radioapple than radiostatic stuff, and I think it has more to do with the egregious amount of uke-fication of Lucifer that I've seen. Vox and Al get it sometimes too, let's be real that's gonna happen in any mlm ship. But I feel like it happens SO often to Lucifer, mostly cause he's small and cute, that people completely forget he's the oldest and most powerful entity in hell.

He would NOT be genuinely scared or intimidated by Al or any other sinner for that matter and Al would NOT be able to physically overpower or threaten Luci. It just feels so wildly out of character for me that any of the appeal of the ship/characters is gone at that point.

Like, for real, no shade to anyone that likes that, go on and get your food. But my extreme dislike of it has me now avoiding bottom!Lucifer radioapple like the plague just so I don't risk being subjected to it.

I think...I think you just described why I feel so squicked out by bottom!Lucifer and top!Alastor 😦 Like, I couldn't figure out what exactly about it was throwing me off, but you just said it perfectly!!

That's literally it! It's the uke-fication of Lucifer. That's it. Lucifer would never feel threatened by Alastor. He would never be overpowered by Alastor. So when I see depictions of Alastor successfully intimidating Lucifer, or overpowering him at all, it just throws me out of the story.

Lucifer's been alive longer than Hell. Alastor's measely 100+ years of being alive is nothing compared to his millennia+ lifespan. And yeah, Lucifer is the strongest person in Hell, he could beat Alastor in any fight, no question. He has no reason to be scared or threatened by him.

And look, there are ways to get Lucifer to a point of being afraid. There are always a way to make characters act in a way you wouldn't typically see. In fact, Lucifer, the biggest, baddest person in Hell, being threatened by something would be a huge thing for his character and for the story. That could totally work!

But when it comes from Alastor just going into his demon form, or looming over Lucifer, I just 🥲 it takes me out of the story. I can't. Alastor may be a big bad Overlord, and he's dangerous for sure, but like...power-wise he is just not on Lucifer's level and Lucifer knows that--Alastor knows that--and this is what makes their dynamic so, SO interesting, especially if they're in a relationship or slowly building into a relationship. That's what makes it so spicy and flavorful. The push and pull. The insecurity and emotion. The complex dynamic between them.

I think you're right about it making bottom!Lucifer and top!Alastor lose its appeal. I went back through my Twitter bookmarks yesterday and found a few top!Alastor's & bottom!Lucifer's that I've saved, but I've come to dislike that generalized characterization of it so much that I avoid it it like the plague too.

And like you said, there's no hate to those who enjoy it. This is fandom and people are allowed to write, draw, and do what they want. It's all fiction and it's not hurting anyone.

I just don't like the top!Alastor & bottom!Lucifer dynamic in most fan-arts, and I don't click onto fics with it cause I just don't want to subject myself to an unenjoyable time 😂 I'm here to have fun too, afterall.

I'm seeing people denying the actual importance and good quality and merits The Untamed had just for their personal issues.

Folks, you can have your personal tastes, you can repeat the usual discourse novel vs drama all over again, but it's really dumb and blind denying the actual facts: how this drama even after 4 years is still a major hit in cn charts, it won a lot of awards in mailand - many of the most important critics' awards - its popularity count billion views, millions got literally obsessed, not just normal liking, and started a community of content creators. A chinese artist managed to get her paintings based on The Untamed to a museum exhibition in the homeland. Two chinese olympians skaters did their program at China Gran Prix of Figure Skating with The Untamed soundtrack in 2019.

Many international people discovered the danmei genre or cdramas in general thanks to it and approached into this large world after seeing and loving it. Finally this genre got the big deserved attention and not anymore underrated. Thanks to The Untamed's popularity, the english amateur translation of Scum Villain, first in hiatus, then restarted and finally finished. Tencent ordered 2HA's live action right on the crest of The Untamed's popularity. And so on.

The impact that The Untamed had and still has, in Asia and beyond, is truly big and unparalleled. There's no doubt this drama has a special place in many fans' heart and even changed our lives for how much it had rearranged our brains.

Seeing people having trouble admitting these actual facts, attempting to deny it (I've read the crazy opinion that The Untamed is loved mostly by westerns in order to miscredit his true chinese heritage and uh my god???) and spreading fake news, misinformations and biased opinions without even watching the drama, dismissing the good stuff it had, is truly surreal and dishonest. You may not love it, it's your business, but do not pretend it's not loved or worthy of people's love and spread bullshit for simple envy over its success D:

Hear me out, I'm missing 19 Days so much that one of these nights I had dream that Old Xian dropped a new chapter about Guan Shan and He Tian in the future, and it was terrifying because in this dream chapter Guan Shan had started dating some girl. He Tian was just there like "👁👄👁wut?" but still would do his best to win Guan Shan back. The girl, who didn't know anything about their past, eventually noticed there was something really fruity about these two and was like "no but why is my boyfriend (Guan Shan) blushing at the sight of this other man (He Tian) who keeps flirting with him right in front of me?".

My head just subconsciously wrote a whole fanfic while I was trying to sleep. Old Xian, save us from this madness 😭

PS: I actually wanted to see the outcome of what was happening in the dream, but my alarm went off right when He Tian was invading Guan Shan's personal space (like usual).

I'm going to throw a temper tantrum about the sun. Actually no, the sun did nothing wrong, it's the burning heart of our solar system, it's beautiful and correct and maybe it will burp a solar flare so big and powerful that it blows out all our electrical ecosystems like a breath snuffing a candle, but it hasn't, not yet. The sun is great.

I'm going to throw a temper tantrum about time. We're just animals, from the insides of our bones to the exterior of our fragile dermis, we sync our body clocks to the light that blooms like a sea of flowers on the horizon. The sun is the moon that pulls on the circadian tides, waking the electrical buzzing of neurons in that overgrown hive, the wrinkled gray meat of our brains gasping into consciousness, feasting on the pollen of sapience.

What a waste! We yoke ourselves to time like oxen, bow our heads and grind through the dirt, the dust of our labor choking in our lungs, gray with fatigue, with the dark skies, with the digital buzz and mechanical tick, we tie a noose around our neck and hang the free end from the hour hand and we let it tighten, minute by minute, and we say, yes good, this is how life is.

Never fucking mind guys.

I'm seeing qCellbit giving up more and more, letting himself go in his depression and it's tearing me apart.

He tries his best, he repeats to himself "I'll continue to search, to try and find new informations, I won't give up" But we're in the second day and he's is, rightfully so, extremely sad. He doesn't want to do things anymore, he barely got the energy to build stuff and he's moved only by the fact that he has to find Richarlyson and it hurts like a motherfucker.

He goes to Richas' bed and talks to himself as to soothe his pain but god when he said he didn't want to feel alone again, he didn't want to lose anyone anymore oh, it broke my heart.

He searched everywhere, he panicked and then he gradually lost the energy that the panic gave him, leaving him completely boneless and IT HURTS. He's always the one to be animated, to help people, to talk and laugh with but today he logged on and just... Couldn't do it.

New discoveries didn't make him excited, he struggled to search for more information during the investigation and the only thing that made him smile was finding the new cat Zeno.

He almost cried again, he relentlessly asked Cucurucho where Richas was and everytime he received a "classified" You could see how it broke his heart and tore him down even more.

He is trying his best to not go mad again, he said he knew the feelings he felt and that he wouldn't give up to them. But what's left?

Okay he got qRoier with him, he got his friends and his family but he is shutting out everyone, gradually leaving him alone. It happened today.

He returns to the Order exhausted.

He doesn't move from the base.

He checks the castle.

All of this to have, at the end of the day, nothing to work with. The Federation knows something but they won't tell him. So he's moving by inertia, hopeful to receive news about his son.

Him singing to Fourth Of July, repeating to himself the verse "we're all gonna die" And I'm almost certain he meant the eggs with that verse.

All of this is extremely terrifying.
