Jegulus baffles me but as long as they treat Sirius fine and there is no wolfstar , the enemy turned lovers trope can be interesting to read. Because otherwise they just copypaste sirius and his troubles onto his brother to make him sympathetic to readers which why??it just ends up being James with a younger slytherin sirius lol while villainising the actual Sirius . I feel they want prongs to be gay but not gay with padfoot because wolfstar would be in serious danger then lmao

and i’m gonna be honest, that dumb jock stereotype was so prevalent in jily fics too my god. it’s one of the reasons i developed such an aversion for both jily & lily (altho i think it’s gotten much, much better now?). it was rly just a doubly whammy bc u had both jily and wolfstar (neatly fitting boxes 🥰) and both of them fully defanged both my fav boys. it was the most annoying stuff ever. i’m seeing something similar w the jegulus + wolfstar fics too but like. yah. can’t say much there bc the former isn’t my thing and i’m too biased w the latter.

also (warning: this is tipsy pen speaking henceforth so don’t expect coherence) i just think sirius and james are inherently more equal & balanced than literally any other couple on earth. and like,,,i’m not saying i don’t like fucked up dynamics (bc some of my ships would vehemently disagree lmao) but it’s just. so. uncomplicated so fucking simple. and so good to read ykno? and it never feels like you’ve to demean one to prop up the other (what i mean by balanced) because like. for one thing, if you’ve ever written anything, u know how dominant ur characters can be. so do any of us rly think that james or sirius would be ok with their best friend/partner being undermined like that? they’d literally burst out of the page to smack u in the face if u tried like that lol and that’s not something i can say for r/s tbh

What it’s like hugging some of my AU’s

Mutemare: He’d probably take a few moments to accept the hug but when he does, he’d have a quiet scratchy sounding purr, and he’d pull you in with his tentacles and wrap you up with them while hugging you…yeah, he’s good for hugs but he’s cold, feels kinda weird, and he won’t let you go until he’s had enough, even if you try get away. I mean, it was your mistake hugging him if you didn’t like it. He’d only let you get near enough to hug him if nobody else was around though. He has a reputation to keep!

Radiation: he feels very plush because of his coat! And because of his radiation, he feels very warm. He’d just hug you and let you go after a bit. He loves hugs but he’s not one to be majorly fussed with them. He’d be perfect for a cold winter day with his warmth. You may feel a little dizzy afterwards from being so close to a person literally made of radiation though-

Puppet: oh my god he’s tiny- you probably have to bend over to hug him. And even then he’d have to get on his tiptoes! He gets way over exited about the hug. Careful, he may bite if he gets too ,too exited. He’d also purr really loudly.Odd..his purr sounds like the mechanical whirring of an olden day wind up toy.

Wings: you can tell they don’t really…know what to do. They don’t feel emotion most the time, and have to fake it, but right now…they don’t know how to fake it. They kinda hug you back but you can tell they’re uncomfortable. They also wrap their wing around you. The feathers are SO soft, you could stay there forever. Oh- and they’re so tall. They can probably comfortably rest their chin on top of your head . They may come back to hug you later. It’s kinda obvious they’re just trying to practice how to deal with a hug.

Void: you’d phase right through him- no hugs for him. He’d be super sad though, and appreciates the attempt. He might go and wrap his arms around you. You can’t feel it, and neither can he, but ya know, the thought is there and that’s what counts, right?

Doubt: MAN this guy is cold- he’s like an ice pack! He’d just silently nuzzle into the hug and…he could probably fall asleep. In fact, he may ask you if he can sleep. He’d have such a quiet ,broken sounding purr, it’s kinda sad to hear. You’d also have to be very careful, it’s easy to hurt him by accident. I mean, he even feels fragile in your arms. Weird, he almost feels like he’s coated in a fine layer of dust.
