51. 28/02/2024, Happy BDay Guo Hongxu! I don't usually upload promovid but uhh he's so cool in this one so, here. Sidenote, Shu Rongbo is very hyper and cute this performance. And Qian Anqi's cute english plss i love her.

52. 03/03/2024 night, Happy BDay Zuo Yiping! Watch also, Cao Muzhi penguin walk across the table, Wu Yihan please watch your steps and don't poke other people's cake!!

(funny coincidence, I happen to watch a Santa Lucia/Mio Fratello clip of Cao Muzhi-Wu Yihan just a couple days before this)

53. 10/03/2024 night, Happy Bday Shu Rongbo and Wu Yihan!! Hehe the way Qian Anqi knocks their heads together and insisted to sing them happy birthday is so cute. Wu Yihan said 'Happy Birthday' before their customary Guiding Light hug. And pls someone translate (or at least transcribed) the closing speech for me, there's a lot of laughing involved, I'm curious. Also, have this bonus stage door clip.

Some funfacts. Since last year they play in the same 4 musicals including Link Click and out of those 4 plays they shared 2 roles. Shu Rongbo played a total of 9 roles while Wu Yihan played 7. (Yes, I am at that level of hyperfixation)

62. 07/03/2024, Guo Hongxu putting up the wrong foot and stumbling on the sofa choreo.

63. 07/03/2024, same performance as above, Ji Xiaokun being annoying <3. When other pairs hug, they wrestle.

64. 10/03/2024 day, Mooom! Cai Qi and Wang Minhui are fighting instead of doing rock-paper-scissors again.

65. 09/03/2024 day, uuuhh Wu Yihan sitting on the counter like that with those lights and shadows during Guiding Light is creepy.

66. 09/03/20204 night, love me some Du Guangyi shenanigans, the way he just gives up on the handshake and walk off the table plss and him teasing Deng Xianling during the closing speech. Speaking of, she brings out the bat and forces their arms to form the heart. Then there's Bai Zhuoming being cute and the little shimmy dance he does.

67. 09/03/2024 night, bonus to the one above. Du Guangyi last minute adlib was unexpected but very enjoyable. Also, I love the contrast between his and Bai Zhuoming's tutting.

And his alternate cast is, Shu Rongbo? Even better!! They're kinda in their own world too. Here's a close up. Their voices go so well together!

Ahh I know what you mean!! It does feel like we know him better, and I will forever be grateful that he chose to show us this side as well. I'm very curious what he'll do in the future. I think he mentioned somewhere he will make brighter songs in the future? Idk I might've just imagined it. But I'm still happy he chose to talk about these things. We already knew how much the pandemic affected him (khm mots:e khm) but I feel like we know even more about what he's been through? Especially in Alone.

Yes, the promos were so good!! I still haven't watched the beat coin ep or the radio one, I only saw clips but I'm hoping to catch up on them soon!! I can't believe it's Jimin era and I'm missing stuff 😩 the music shows were so good??? I loved every performance my god and when he went on the actual shows and we could see him get his awards 🥺🥺🥺 and hobi coming and bringing him big bouquet of purple flowers 😭😭😭 pls he deserves every win he ever got and will get. I know what you mean 🥺 with Indigo and JITB I could very clearly choose favorites, and songs I didn't like that much (all of them are really good but sadly I have to have taste and preferences 😭) but with face I really struggled 😂 Not that I was trying to dislike any song from any album!! But I think if I had to choose one, I would choose Alone. No, I would definitely choose Alone. I fucking love that song and love the lyrics and his voice and the message and how I can relate to it and everything. I'm currently obsessing over 'Mayday, get me out of here' overlapping with the 'Day and night' line. But I can definitely say that I resonate with every song. Yes he did mention that. Oh and definitely. Jimin rarely ever showed us or talked to us about what he was going through during that time except during the mots on:e endingment. God that had been a punch to the gut. But seeing the jimin of today who put all that hurt and pain so beautifully into an album that I'm sure resonates with so many people in so many different ways, I've never been prouder. Him saying that he has healed from those feelings just made me so happy, you know? 🥺 also face era kind of left me feeling empty. Not in a negative way but a 'what do I do with my life now' kinda way. Empty as in we saw soooo much of Jimin during this era that I was like "Ok what now? now that i won't get to see jimin what nowhdjhdj???" which is... kind of pathetic of me tbh but i can't help it bc theyre my constant source of happiness u know? like little breaks in my otherwise dark life rip. Sometimes when I'm listening to Face and I'm not doing anything else while listening, I open the lyrics and read them (even though I probably know them by heart by now) and I always choke up. The realization comes only now that the promo/schedule is finally over.

In addition to the Billboard chart, I feel that there are many things that have not yet caught up with the realization...

I have been preparing hard, but also wondering if my schedule has ended too quickly.

No matter what I write about every experience I am experiencing at the moment, I feel that it will be an insufficient amount of gratitude to all of you, so I thought a lot about what words I should say.

most recent fic: we fell in love in october which is an ongoing. slowburn ??? maybe?? between minseok and youngjoon! i am. a bit behind on updating this one bc of school LMAO

longest fic: a colorless aurora (i'm tired of seeing it) which is a non-idol au with endgame romantic ot4 :D plus some cameos from sa1nt hehe

most hits: once i'm asleep (it actually has the second most hits but shh) this one was very endearingly called the megawhump until i wrote an even longer oneshot. i swear i'm still working on the sequel to this one. no romance here!

most kudos: perfect (actually has the third most kudos. but i wanna promo more fics) no romance in this one either :D

most comments: we don't get happy endings, do we this is actually the 4th most comments. oh well. there is some romance here, but it's mostly angst!

most bookmarks: you have us no romance again! kinda just. depressed jaewon and mayhem being as supportive as they can. hence the title.

@jseungz hehe good morning ! and thanks for sending me this, i feel like i'm not usually thought of for txt commentary anymore since i'm not frequently creating for moablr, but their cbs are still always a fun time for me and i look forward to them !

this is my favorite cb from them in a while -- the last one i was really jazzed about was lovesong, so very exciting for me. i looove that the title track is bright, but what i'm calling the 'anti drop lite' of the chorus also adds in that more sultry vibe that i think they were going for with this concept . it works well, it's super fun and catchy, and it's definitely a song i think i'll be listening to a lot !

as for the rest of the album, my standout bside is happy fools, as it calls back to their sound from tdc: star 🥹 i was expecting to love tinnitus more bc i'm so about the tropical house influence in kpop bsides lately (some of my faves from last year were ox's all about u and cravity's colorful) but ultimately it fell a little flat for me. the other tracks i like, and overall i like this album a lot more than their last release, but earlier tubatu releases like minisode1 and tdc: magic are still my personal favorites . i am glad to see them doing a more glittery and magical concept though, and am interested to see how they style them for promos !!

but in good things !!! my best friend's brother's wedding on the 8th, and i was invited to it which was exciting bc i've never been to big functions like that without my family! 😅🥰 it was amazing, i kinda teared up seeing the ceremony, and then had my fill of good food and desserts and even danced a little! i was introduced to my best friend's churchmates and everyone was like 'oh yeah ik you bc you are always on xx's whatsapp statuses' 😳 and literally i just realised how much my best friend posts about me for no reason. everyone and their mums knew about me and it was so 😬 overwhelming, but also a relief at the same time, bc i'm not the most social person! 😅

then i also met my friend's ex (they broke up on mutual terms) and it was my first time seeing him irl and his eyes are so pretty but then he reminded me that he's seen practically every message i've sent my bestie (none of them were bad!! i'm just very crazy when it comes to texting) and i was so embarrassed but he was very kind about it 😔🙏

and i goofed around while we were waiting by singing thinking out loud by ed sheeran (bc that's what the live band was playing) and i didn't think was that loud bc the hall was pretty noisy but my friend's churchmates all complimented my voice and asked if i wanted to replace my friend in their church's choir! 😂 it was fun bc we all kept collectively teasing my best friend, and she didn't mind bc she said she was like i was making friends since i was always home and never went out and stuff

this was all in one day, but i feel like i made a month full of memories, honestly!! 💗💗💗

I very much agree with everything you have said, like I do think the bighit deal was more so with the help of say with western connections (which again does NOT mean pledis could have done this without bighit. They clearly could but I saw a theory on a YouTube comment where someone said they focused on the core fanbase aka in Korea which is their main market and it paid off imo) from helping with buisness side of things like we do have merch to buy directly (which I have my opinion on some merch ideas like why the fudge is bighit selling us water!? Bro you thought that worked with bts doesn't mean it will with seventeen) which wasn't common in the past or being able to film concerts with ease during the pandemic. Bighit clearly acknowledges that seventeen is a monster group in their own right I mean as you said, they break records and are 2nd behind bighits own group. They are EXTEMELY big in Japan. They are their own song makers, bang pd confirmed this when pleids was first announced in a press video so the fact people brush all of their achievements and statements because why, their streaming numbers are low?

And oohh such an interesting point as well! Very much i think the current mindset of kpop fans (or at least some) is that streaming is what equals success which to some degree, yes but as you said, many ignore the casual side of listening. People that find the song due to it being viral for whatever reason, a fancam getting popular like in the cass of hani from exid or whatever reason. Dwc is a great example and I saw those comments under their recent performance of that song and it makes me proud that the boys have a song like that. That it has its own "fanbase" quote on quote with how well loved that song simply is and well known. You don't have to have fans doing crazy streaming to be considered "popular", I mean I could give more examples but I don't wanna make this too long nor cause unwanted fandrama lol. Those casual listeners are extremely important and powerful I mean brave girls is a great recent example of that I think! It very much does seem like that when looking at the views, its mainly the core fanbase which isn't bad nor should we feel bad for not having crazy numbers. They seem more organic if that makes sense? Plus I agree, we can stream and can explain how it works, clearing up confusion about it like no emojis don't take down views and yes youtube does take away views but that is due to it making sure it isn't bots only viewing the video. Explaining that streaming should be done with a chill mindset and its ok if you don't stream. But hey, maybe we're too weird of fans to think like this fjajdjajs.

But some few updates! Seventeen is back on Instagram, fully everyone is posting away. Makes me happy hehe m, a bit funny it took so long for them to comeback but am happy nonetheless. The interactions that seungkwan does makes me super soft. Seventeen are also back with doing proper promotions so yay (also pledis is S Wording people over the mingyu issue finally so bless). As for me on the personal side of things. I have OFFICIALLY finished that video game ^_^ it took me a while but I have finished it, my last goodbye was completed and am at ease so to speak? and yeah that's absolutely true, pledis focused on kr promotions/fanbase first and foremost (and then expanded to Japan and is now looking toward the US/western promos in general). which i agree was a good thing. i think some companies get too greedy with wanting a group to be ~internationally famous~ that they ignore their Korean fanbase a bit too much and I've seen groups that have failed bc of it, so I'm glad that didn't happen w SVT

and yeah in terms of merch I'm genuinely grateful as an american that for this cb at least there was a US distributor which made things super convenient but wtf is going on w hybes merch those water bottles are not it TT it just sucks to see bc it's clear that at least as far as merch goes hybe doesn't have an interest in like. doing market research to figure out what carats want. which is funny bc they don't even have to start from scratch they could literally just ask pledis?? and tbh what's sad is i don't think hybe is like. purposefully trying to sabotage SVTs merch from my limited perspective i get the feeling they treat all their groups merch like that :( but since us carats have seen in the past what kind of merch we're capable of getting it's disappointing to see such a downgrade. and like tbf pledis's merch decisions were never perfect like that time they tried to sell replicas of the SVT rings and carats were rightfully pissed bc those are something the members earned, not something to be bought. and i also don't think hybe never has or never will make good merch, I'm sure they're fully capable of it. but it just seems obvious that they've put WAY less if any effort into understanding both the market (ie carats) and seventeens brand compared to pledis so like of course most carats aren't gonna like it :/ i really hope they step up their game and do better research or bring ppl onto the team who better understand svt's brand

and yeah i very much agree with everything u said about streaming! tbh i think this mindset isn't as uncommon as you might think, I've actually met a fair number of kpop fans who are critical of streaming culture but as u know there also are a lot of ppl who are really into it and those ppl tend to have the loudest voices. and unfortunately part of streaming culture is that if you question the methods or don't participate you must be a bad fan or secretly an anti or something ridiculous like that. so ppl who aren't into streaming culture end up learning to not be too vocal about it bc of how bad the backlash can be

yes! I'm glad to see insta line (+ now dk!!) active again. i still wonder why pledis made them stop using their ind instas, like I know all the theories people have as to why but honestly none that I've seen seem to fully make sense. it will probably be one of those things where we'll just never know the full story. but i digress!! regardless of the reason I'm just glad to have them back after all this time ^^

as always I'm answering this a bit late so you may have seen already but i did get the physical album! it was a birthday gift so i only got it the other day, but according to my mom it arrived almost immediately after the album was released so as i said before, I'm very grateful for the US shop this time around ;-; as for the songs usually it's easy for me to pick one or two favorites but this time around it's genuinely a 4-way tie between heavens cloud and all the unit songs TT (i also love anyone and RTL, they're just slightly lower on the list in terms of preference if u get what i mean). i really hope some time in the future we get some kind of performance or special video or something for heavens cloud, since so many carats and the members themselves seem to really love it. i also think it's a song that brings up such beautiful imagery that it would be a shame if it never got any type of visual representation, you know? I'm also really curious to see a performance of wave, since iirc the members said the choreo is a lot more laid back/different from other perf unit choreos?? + that song also evokes such great imagery for me that like... makes feel like it needs some kind of movement so I'm just itching to see a performance. kind of like... even if i didn't know it was a perf unit song i would think it would be great to choreograph to if that makes any sense dhfkf. but yeah overall i think it's just a really solid album, as expected from summerteen ^^

unfortunately i can't do anything else to change my grades because where i am (singapore) exams are more of a one-off done deal kind of case.... there's sometimes graded assignments in between exams so we can get our grades up a little, but there's no such thing as extra credit.... :") so my only real hope is to really start mugging for the next set of exams (my "promos", as we call it here, because it's the last set of exam for the school year aka we will be getting "promoted" if we pass this school year 🥴) which are like,,, 50? 60?% of my entire final grades for this year so..... yeah. that's a big oof.

and yes! i got the Pfizer vaccine! in Singapore, youths under the age of 18 can only take the Pfizer vaccine, and anyone older (18 up) can choose between Pfizer and Moderna (all these are done by choosing which vaccination center you go to for your jab when you book your appointment — the webpage shows whether the center offers Pfizer or Moderna so people can choose, but obviously for those <18 y/o we have a more limited selection of vaccination centers)

i took the shot yesterday (roughly 15? hours ago) and so far my only symptoms are my arm is kinda sore but i took the day off school anyways just to be safe zzz
