I love when I see posts like "Share how many crochet WIPs you currently have! I have 5, it's so many!"
Like, girl, I have unfinished projects from over a decade ago that I refuse to frog on the off chance I decide to finish them. I've found years-old projects I forgot I even started and will impulsively just finish it on the spot. I've started three different projects in the last 2 months, including one I started yesterday, that I already know I may or may not finish within the year depending on motivation.
The number of WIPs I have is infinite.
#crochet#knitting#needlepoint#sewing#embroidery#shoutout to the time it took me 4 years to make my dad a hat. and like 6 years to make a turtle for a teacher.#i picked up yarn spinning for ONE day in like 2017. i have not done it since.#there's a half finished elephant amigurumi sitting in a basket and i started that guy in like 2011#i have two maybe three shawls i know of that are sitting unfinished in a storage bag#plenty of swatches of things that i start and lose interest in#currently i have a cardigan i wanted to make and started it and then got bored so i stopped#there's a hat i was knitting for my nanna that i started maybe 2 days before she passed#and that's sat unfinished i can't even look at it. i have no clue if i'll ever actually finish it.#there's at least one skirt i never finished sewing. and two skirts i have all the materials for but haven't started.#i know i have one beach cover up dress and one cover up skirt that i started in 2017 and didn't finish.#i think my oldest work in progress though dates back to when i was 9 or 10. i made a slipper. never finished the other foot.#that was in 2005 or 06. so literally i might have WIPs older than someone who is reading this.#and those are the just some of the ones i REMEMBER. buried in my yarn stash are probably others i've just forgotten.

More genuine answer: I'm an aro-ace writer with a long long streak of gen-fic. Shipping doesn't interest me. I don't hate it; it just doesn't click for me at all. I joke that the only way romance ends up in the story is if it's a plot-necessity (Tetsuo and Jun are there because 'married man suspected of having an affair' is what pulls Reigen into the entire Mogami-possession plot. The Kageyama parents are married because they're, well, the parents. Teru and Mei's relationship is a joke until it's plot-relevant.)
So to me, I'm not writing Ritsu and Teru's relationship as a ship. But also? This is all pretend. It's all transformative. This is for fun. I absolutely know that if I were a ship-writer, Riteru would be the obvious choice. I know they're one angry-kiss away from being someone's enemies to lovers fic. So if you look at Ritsu and Teru in ABoT and say "they're holding hands, to me", go right ahead, go hog-wild, come play Barbies with me.

yeah that's right it's weekly umbrella propaganda time!
here we go after another fun quirky hilarious episode (this show is so funny and so bright and colourful and so good y'all how did we even get this lucky with such a great start to The Year Of Vampire BLs)
first off, our repeat umbrellas this week, in episode four:
the ol' reliable Big Red Umbrella (tm), the clearly well loved white lace umbrella (it was perfect for being at the temple!), the bright blue with pompom edging, and the yellow umbrella from the car last week just chilling on the floor next to Pun. (the clearest shot i could get of the umbrella has Kamsai blocking Pun but i swear he's sitting on the couch she's walking towards)
as for new umbrellas, gracing us this episode is a truly glorious piece that @poetry-protest-pornography dubbed the "Ultimate Umbrella" (and she's not wrong) and it's this absolute treasure that Pun uses both outside and inside the house:
OBVIOUSLY this is my favourite umbrella this episode, how could it not be? who could even question or have any doubts?
next up we have a subtle, easy to miss fun lil black and grey number on the floor in the middle foreground with a light grey or white border detail, and our first Giant Porch Umbrella:
(that's an actual cane in the immediate foreground on the left, not an umbrella handle, i was also confused for a moment expecting a new umbrella collector to appear)
then there's another layered/two tone umbrella this week in orange:
and finally, an understated solid black umbrella, as well as a second Giant Porch Umbrella in pink that's joined the purple one from earlier in the episode.
a solid collection of new umbrellas for the catalogue!
if you're wondering why I'm counting these Giant Porch Umbrellas but not the appearance of other giant umbrellas in other episodes that showed up at food stalls, these aren't regular umbrellas, sure, but they're for Pun's soup stall which means they're his, so they're part of his collection.

#random pet post#it really is a weird coat pattern#I'm never sure if I should describe him accurately as a white marked tabby or as the first impression people get of a black and white cat#love his little backward C's#I got all my other pets around the same time and they've been dying off one by one this last year or so#I'm down to just this 4yo kit and Bruiser#actually I'm not done whispering in the tags#pretty soon it's just gonna be me and this terrible little man against the world#and he gives me such weird problems you cannot even begin to imagine#took to the leash and harness without a bit of difficulty but I can't take him anywhere cuz he freaks out about people 500ft away#really difficult to find sitters for him cuz he gets so stressed about changes and waits until 3am to SCREAM#he's 17 lbs and wants to sleep on my chest 14 hours a day#took him on a work trip a week or 2 ago cuz of aforementioned petsitting troubles and some kind of wire got crossed#so instead of stress peeing in my laundry basket he now humps the nearest blanket covered limb to alert me of problems#he got scared of his water dish recently and is only now starting to get over it after 3 weeks of drama#he knocked it over last night and humped my leg while I tried to sleep to try and convey to me that he was thirsty#I'm thinking of getting a second cat and just fucking hoping that it'll be normal and maybe Prompto can target it for some of his weirdness

finally stepped foot on the sacred grounds of miraculous ladybug
#so i went outside to touch grass and ended up in. paris#it has been a Weekend <- ticked off the list every possible tourist attraction (and a few underrated spots) in less than 4 days#and man. that is one big city#excellent food. surreal views. strange but wonderful sensation of seeing that famous landmarks/paintings/french ppl actually exist#also great place to converse in all the languages you know :D it's like the whole world is there#history all around. very musical. spotted a little girl in a lb onesie. the grass-touching was literal (had to see that one stadium)#got a custom shirt of my fav player and a dazai noodle stopper. also the muscle soreness of all time <- all of them thoroughly worth it#yk i COULD proudly say i was just plagging around paris- except no lazing around was done whatsoever#quite possibly the experience of the year 😌#now if you'll excuse me i need to sleep until christmas

my advice for anyone whos growing more and more frustrated with the state of aftg and fandom at large is that arguing is fun but you need to be happy. ok. you need to. its hard when bad faith takes are dropped to your doorstep but you need to be happy and enjoy yourself and have fun or there's no point in anything at all ever. ok. fandom is not real and nothing is worth more than your enjoyment. i love you please make sure to have fun and reach out to a friend today. for me
#this goes doubly for fans of color if i'm honest#i say this bc a lot of my mutuals either currently or in the past have been very upset about how the fandom acts#and ive Done My Rounds with that ok#ive survived great wars even. and they did not make me happy#yes i was right and yes i should have said it but ultimately there was no material harm to choosing to have fun instead#lifes hard as it is in the real world where real things happen why would you waste your precious fun time on fighting crusades#and trust me i understand deeply the wish to fight crusades.
