Identify the causes, signs, and symptoms of hypertension
Tumblr media
Hypertension is a common clinical condition characterized by elevated blood pressure levels. It is also known as hypertensive heart disease or high blood pressure. Have you ever wondered what the blood pressure (BP) exactly is?
Blood pressure is the pressure exerted on the lateral wells of the blood vessels, precisely arteries, while the blood flows through them. To better understand blood pressure measurements, you must know about systolic and diastolic pressure. Systolic blood pressure denotes the pressure exerted when the heart beats. On the other hand, diastolic pressure is the pressure exerted on the resting state of the heart between the beats. The normal blood pressure of a healthy adult is 120/80 mmHg. Depending on your activity, your blood pressure changes throughout the day. Therefore, the diagnosis of high blood pressure may be made if blood pressure readings are frequently higher than normal. According to the American heart association, systolic blood pressure of 130-139 or diastolic blood pressure of 80-89 is considered stage 1 hypertension. The condition can be managed effectively with early diagnosis, timely treatment, and lifestyle modification.
Causes of hypertension
The major causes of high blood pressure include increasing age, too high salt intake, family history, obesity, lack of exercise, stress, alcohol consumption, smoking, pregnancy, and chronic metabolic diseases. However, the exact pathophysiology of the developing condition is poorly understood.
High blood pressure symptoms
It is challenging to identify hypertension symptoms, especially in the early stages of the condition. However, in the more advanced stages, the patient complains of recurrent morning headaches, nausea, blurred vision, nose blood, shortness of breath, cardiac arrhythmia, ringing in the ears, exhaustion, chest pain, anxiety, and trembling muscles, along with elevated blood pressure.

Hey y’all! Weird question time!  Can getting an injection that includes something you have a food allergy to* make you more sensitized/reactive to that thing, or to your allergies in general, for a while afterwards? I’m allergic to acetic acid, and there’s acetic acid in the Moderna vaccine (and booster). I still got the vaccine (and boosters), even though I had an allergic reaction every time**, but some things with tiny amounts of acetic acid I used to be able to eat were an issue for a while after each shot*** Oh wait side note: same question but for taking the thing you are allergic to as in inactive ingredient in pill form (found out the hard way that some inactive ingredients in pills are made from acetic acid! still trying to figure out if that’s the thing I was allergic to in that pill, or if I’m just separately allergic to one of the inactive ingredients in it) *like, not those desensitization shot things allergists can do, but as an inactive ingredient in a different thing **it was kind of a “better the devil you know” situation. The allergic reaction I had to the Moderna one was unpleasant but handleable. I have no idea if I’m allergic to the Pfizer one, or how bad the reaction would be ***generally not a good idea to eat a food you know you’re allergic to, but I’m on a lot of antihistamines and sometimes you just want refried beans in your burritos even though you know vinegar is on the ingredients list. It’s the last ingredient on the list, and vinegar is only like less than 10% acetic acid, so I can usually tolerate it just fine

NaClYoHo Days 23 & 24
Day 23
usual daily dishes
second doctors appointment this week
sent trial return to work forms to doctor for signing/review
called sister to check in
put in an order to take advantage of the ordinary's slowvember sale
updated Christmas shopping/budget list
Today (day 24)
usual daily dishes, laundry
threw away some expired food
threw away dead table flowers
wiped bathroom counter
moved meat from freezer to fridge so I can try to cook dinner tomorrow
I haven't felt too much more sucky than normal the last couple days, but in addition to thyroid problems and whatever undiagnosed dysautonomic problem I'm having, I also have you-feel-shitty-disease (ME/CFS), so my normal "feeling normal" is already pretty sucky. If you feel 100% normally and drop to 30%, you feel it! But if you feel 35% normally and drop to 30%, maybe it doesn't impact you as much? idk
Did lots of sleeping and resting yesterday and today, and will hopefully perk up back to normal next week to finish the month strong.

I'm doing it. I'm gonna get a fucking hysterectomy
#its something ive talked about half jokingly for years bc the idea of ever being pregnant or giving birth makes me INCREDIBLY dysphoric#so it seems completely fucking pointless to have to go through so much pain and sickness every month for absolutely no reason#this past month where i couldnt get my medication already had me seriously thinking about it tho#bc even if im managing my endometriosis okay with BC i dont want to have to worry about going through hell if i cant fill my prescription#i was looking into the side effects and etc bc i was thinking about asking my doctor about it next time i went in#and the only thing that had me concerned was that a full hysterectomy or oophorectomy sends you into menopause which seems like itd suck#(but smaller surgeries like tube ligations dont actually stop you from having periods)#BUT i was complaining about this at work and one of my coworkers told me she had a hysterectomy for endometriosis#and her doctor gave her a partial hysterectomy so it stops periods and prevents pregnancy but doesnt send you into menopause#and that sounds fucking GREAT honestly so i wanted to ask my doctor about it even more#but now that roe v wade has been overturned? the deal is sealed im getting this hell machine out of me one way or another#im hoping that my doctor will be understanding as a woman herself but if not my coworker said she'll give me her doctors info#and if THAT doesnt work. i just checked out r/childfree and theyve got a list of doctors in my area who are willing to help#i dont want to keep suffering through chronic illness symptoms every month for absolutely no reason#i dont want to run the risk of getting pregnant and having to live through my worst nightmare as someone with dysphoria#AND like my gf just pointed out to me. ive got other health issues that im trying to get sorted out#im chronically underweight and i either have pots or some kind of hypertension. plus a low immune system and etc etc etc#being forced to carry a pregnancy could fucking kill me for all i know. AND i would have to go off of a lot of my meds??#all this thing does is cause me chronic pain and put my already precarious physical and mental health at risk#im GETTING it fucking taken out#rambling#ive got an appointment with my therapist on tuesday and i think im gonna ask about getting an official diagnosis of gender dysphoria#and im already in the process of getting tested for pots with my primary care doctor#so hopefully those diagnoses combined with my endometriosis will help speed it along... 🙏

I do have to wonder how much of my ‘blood pressure being high’ was just due to 1) anxiety and 2) not being able to put the fact that this doctor basically killed my friend’s sister-in-law out of my mind
#okay she didn’t KILL her kill her but she failed to notice this woman had stomach cancer for well over a year#she presented with every symptom and this doctor kept fobbing her off; cancelling appointments; losing referrals etc#until Finally she managed to get referred to a specialist and they did a scan and found out she had stage 4 stomach cancer#she died six months after that. she’d been living without treatment for a year prior to diagnosis like… they could’ve saved her#this doctor specifically could’ve saved her#why did i see this doctor you ask? well there’s four doctors at my regular practice. two of them are male. i don’t fuck with male doctors#nothing against them but discussing my personal intimate problems with a man i don’t know and no chaperone is just not for me#i also had a male doctor repeatedly make weird comments about my body when i was a teenager so there is that#my dentist is a man though and we like him. one boy allowed#Anyway so there’s the two male doctors and then there’s this woman who basically killed my friend’s family member#and then there’s the other woman doctor but she is on leave at the moment and only taking phone appointments. she wouldn’t be back until#after my microgynon prescription ran out and she can’t take my blood pressure over the phone. so i was like. would i rather be examined#by a man or someone who is an idiot at best and negligent at worse. or take my chances with freeballing this shit (my period)#so there i am sitting in this woman’s office seething and no surprise; the best figure she could get from me was 121 over 95#bear in mind i’m usually sitting at 100 over 80. so.#she did take my blood pressure 5 times but the last time i saw she got an upper figure of 103 and she didn’t write the lower figure???#so i’m wondering if the meditation i was trying to do actually Did take my blood pressure down and she just didn’t want to accept it lol#should i buy a blood pressure monitor? i mean.. literally no because that’s an unnecessary expense and i’ve placed a moratorium#on unnecessary shopping in order to justify/afford a fucking TREADMILL#but seriously. i’m starting to wonder if i actually have hypertension or if i was just pissed at this woman. or if she’s just incompetent#i swear i’m not just mad because this is my second day of a reduced salt diet and i’m not enjoying it lol#i’m sticking to her orders i’m just….. i don’t know if it was bullshit or not. i mean how do i trust someone who watched a woman waste away#to skin and bone and continually fumbled referral paperwork and just overall failed to see that Something Was Very Wrong#i’m following her advice out of malicious compliance and because i don’t think it can hurt me but still. Still#personal

"Yoga for High blood pressure. A Natural Path to Lower Blood Pressure"
Hypertension, often known as high blood pressure, is a chronic medical disease that affects millions of people throughout the globe. It may lead to significant health problems such as heart disease and stroke. Yoga, a centuries-old discipline, has emerged as a comprehensive method to hypertension management. Yoga reduces stress, which is a major factor to high blood pressure, via deep breathing, meditation, and mild physical postures. Yoga's relaxation and mindfulness practices may help to calm the nervous system, reduce cortisol levels, and improve blood flow. Yoga practice on a regular basis may help to maintain healthy blood pressure and improve overall cardiovascular health.
