just thought about sitting beside a sleeping diluc. the rare times he's lying down before you, you take it as an opportunity to lull him to sleep. so you run your finger on the apples of his cheeks before you cup the side of his face. and when you give him a chaste kiss on his forehead?
he smiles.
his eyes are still closed, because he doesn't want to disturb his own peace. he doesn't want to disturb the moment. so you press more and more and more kisses on his face until he chuckles at you, sleepy eyes so lovestruck that it makes you want to give him affection forever.
he takes your hand that's been cupping his face, presses his lips on the inside of your wrist, and brings you down to cuddle with him. it's so rare to have a happy, peaceful, infatuated diluc. so he tucks you under his chin in the hopes of staying that way forever.

just finished both zhongli story quests and therefore we know what time it is
whenever i see zhongli i just want to give him a hug. he just looks so comfortable. his hugs probably feel like nothing can ever hurt you, not even if the world eroded around you, because you were safe in his embrace.
“can i hug you?” you ask him, all of a sudden, as the sun sets in the horizon of liyue harbor. the golden sky melts into a calm orange and finally into a lazy blue.
zhongli raises an eyebrow, but he doesn’t tease. “you may, as you wish.” he replies, one arm already hovering around your shoulders, waiting for you to hold him first.
it doesn’t matter how tight you hug him—he’s warm and firm all the same. as one hand is lightly placed at the back of your head and the other rubs circles on your shoulder, you are safe.

you look at him for a second too long and his eyebrow furrows, not in confusion, but in awareness. first, he tilts his head, gazing back at you, and then he waves his hand before your eyes. you blink, a smile resting on your lips.
"i was just admiring you," you admit, roses blooming on your cheeks. he raises an eyebrow, trying to hide how flustered he is.
"is that so?" he asks softly, leaning back against his chair. he puts out his arms nonchalantly, beckoning you towards him. "well, why don't you take a closer look?"
and so you do lean closer, your nose almost touching his chin. to you, he was the man you are so drawn to, especially under the golden sunset. to him, oh, to him, you were someone so damn precious when you show him this innocent gaze. it absolutely crushes him, his heart beating up to his throat, leftover adrenaline leaving as sighs when he pulls you towards him; teeth clashing with the soft flesh of your lips, hands warm and imposing on your waist.
when he's got you in his control in his lap, he looks up at you with a hazy smile. he nuzzles your neck, then speaks to you in a voice low enough to send shivers down your spine.
"when you look at me like that, my darling, what did you expect?"

“but at least you’re here.” he continues. a sigh of contentment and exhaustion escapes his lips.
you raise an eyebrow at him. “and, may i ask, does my presence makes things a little less shit?”
“oh yeah. definitely.” he murmurs loud enough for you to hear. you’re not quite sure if it’s because he’s drunk that he says these or if it’s all actually genuine, because he puts down the empty glass in his hand and holds yours instead. he leans his head on your shoulder, his eyes finally shutting down, and you’re just glad he’s resting
