[ Directional Orbit ] Light - Stage 110 Clear VOD

On Sunday, 05/12 I have successfully cleared Xavier's Directional Orbit: Light - Stage 110 after being stuck on it for over 3 weeks! Ahhh~ it feels so good to finally be able to clear this fight!! As I mentioned in my most recent orbit prog notes a LOT of resources were dedicated into making this clear happen... literally weeks worth of using my stamina to gather core energy materials/gold, waiting for the right protocores to come along, and then countless hours of trial and error. To review-- this stage requires two teams: Team 01's Protofield Stellactrum requires 6-Amber memories. Team 02's Protofield Stellactrum requires 6-Emerald memories. I'll include below the final teams set up and stat attributes list I used for this clear. Sorry there isn't any audio in my clear video. IDK what happened.

The first half with team 01 wasn't so bad. I was able to consistently clear the stage without too much of a hassle. The part I struggled the most on was in the second half with team 02. Despite me using the Hunter Claymore and relatively high leveled memories I was still lacking in damage, with me having around ~1 full HP bar when the timer ran out. Ngl, It was kinda frustrating, but what can you do. I didn't really want to level up my 4-stars memories past level 70. I was saving my leveling resources for Xavier's Shimmering Moonlight memories-- so getting [Romantic Afternoon] or [Fluffy Trap] to 80 wasn't really an option either. So it was a level up my protocores angle. At the beginning of my attempts at this stage my protocores were all around +9. My goal was to push them to +12, but that also requires a lot of resources as I've said before. Was it worth it? Yeah, I'd say so. TLDR; if you've exhausted most of your resources and aren't sure how to make up your damage consider upgrading your protocores. Protocore farming is end game content, but even if you don't think you're there yet by simply doing your 1 Core Hunt daily task a day will help you in the long run. Slowly building up your core energy supply is vital to this game if you're looking to push higher stages.

We have a plan. I do not understand all of the details of the plan but it is a plan and that's better than dying hopelessly. Let's give it a go.

Alright, team meeting before we head in there. Here's what I'm thinking.

Prophecy said there is no version of events where we fight the Dweller of Strife and win. But prophecy also sent us to the Chosen One door that wouldn't open because we aren't the Chosen Ones.

Since Resh'an put his hand on the scale, we're having this confrontation here inside Clockwork Castle; Something that would have been impossible to occur under the normal events of the timeline.

That means we're actually off the map, in terms of prophecy. None of the "versions" of us fighting the Dweller of Strife ever accounted for us meeting Cael and... doing whatever his plan is going to do. Catalyzed Eclipse Magic is not a thing we ever had in this timeline before.

So. Who knows what's going to happen in there? Prophecies are overrated; We're forging our own destinies right now.

Okay. There are four extremely punchable people, two slightly less punchable people, and an unbeatable Dweller waiting for us in there. I want everyone ready to unleash a hurricane of violence. I want to hit them so hard that they don't even know whose boot is lodged up their ass. Except you, Resh'an, since you're not allowed to fight the Dweller. Let's go!

Plus, Dweller of Strife? What, was Dweller of Bickering taken? Can you get more generic? At least Torment rolled off the tongue. Torment. There was a title that filled me with terror. Your name sounds like you want to debate.

So before my mom banned pokemon from our house (probably when I was around 7?) we loved Pokémon. We never had a video game console but my cousins did. So technically pokemon stadium is my first pokemon game! Only ever the rentals haha. But we loved playing the mini games.

When my mom banned pokemon and sold all our plushies (rip butterfree plush, I'll get you back some day) it was a pokemon drought. Until my cousin went to college and gave me her pokemon card collection. (Supposedly the halo mew is worth $100?! But I treasure them) and the brainrot infected me once again.

I started learning everything I could about game mechanics. This was when Gen 5 came out in Japan so you didn't even have the English translations yet! I made lists of what my teams would be in each game, how to divy up the HMs, how to get certain egg moves. All without playing a single game lol.

And then I found playr.org. It had all the retro game boy games. Including Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Unfortunately the saving system wasn't so great and got corrupted a few times (rip shiny ekans) but I did mostly play Silver or Crystal. (This is where the name Wren for my character was born!)

I craved more but I didn't know how to download emulators safely :( I watched playthroughs to get by. To this day let's plays are a comfort source for me <3

By the way I did all of this without my parents ever knowing. I was very good at hiding it from them XD

I think it was finally like freshman year of college when I figured out the pokemon fan games. I'm talking Uranium, Phoenix Rising demo, Ethereal Gates demo, Solar Light Lunar Dark, Sage, aka non emulator ones. Basically any I could get my hands on. I also started drawing fakemon in my sketchbook. I kind of want to revisit those some day. I still have the sketchbook somewhere.

Then I figured out emulators FINALLY. At least enough and got an emulator and mystery dungeon explorers of sky, MY BELOVED! I have played through the rom many times. I have a randomizer. Also a few years ago I found Sky Temple for editing the rom aka different starter pokemon. The discord server is always working on making new sprites so you can be any pokemon you want its very wonderful.

Junior year of college, I said I'd had enough. I spent an entire year hyping over Sun and Moon and my bestie/roomie convinced me to treat myself, something I literally never did. I bought a 3DS and Pokemon Sun and never looked back. I loved it. My first real pokemon game. (My parents were not happy when they found out lol). I spent so many hours. I got big into breeding perfect IV pokemon (idk why cause I never did online battles) or shiny breeding. I used to work til 11 pm some nights and before bed I'd just do some breeding. I would have the pokemon in the perfect ball and have all the egg moves and perfect IVs and nature and have the perfect nick name cause I was obsessive like that oof. I got ultra moon when it came out as well and loved it. I also bought pokemon X and Omega Ruby which I enjoyed. But Sun and Ultra Moon I played many times and bred so many perfect pokemon.

I did pick up roms around this time for Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Black and White and the sequels, and maybe Platinum? But they ran really slow on my computer so I never made it far. I preferred playing on my 3ds. But I still played quite a bit of Sky rom.

I was, less excited about Sword and Shield. I saved up a whole year to buy my switch and bought Lets go Eevee, Botw, and Sword when Gen 8 came out. I did inhale the entire game of Sword in one week, but I don't think I ever finished a second playthrough. The story was really disappointing and I did not like the gen 8 pokemon as much. It's hard when you're not a big fan of any of the starter evolutions, cause pressing B for every level up is tedious :(

I did enjoy Lets Go Eevee but after I loaned it to my bestie I had troubled getting back in. The ball throwing was a little off putting.

Oh I also bought Mystery dungeon Rescue Dx and I enjoyed that quite a bit!

Last summer I was struggling a lot with my emotions and frustration with my mom and as a form of therapy started spending money oof. I wanted a second DS so I could trade back and forth and make my life easier. It took a lot of bidding on Goodwill online but I snagged a second 2ds, legit copy of pmd sky! and pmd gates to infinity. And Pokemon Soul Silver! Also I bought the digital versions of gen 1 and 2 before the eshop closed.

I also bought Shining Pearl cause it went super on sale, but after I lent it to my bestie I haven't played since. I actually dont like too many gen 4 pokemon besides Glaceon, Leafeon, and Chatot.

Playing pokemon mystery dungeon on a 3ds instead of a computer keyboard was so much more satisfying. I played through Sky and loved it of course. Then I picked up Gates to Infinity which I never knew the story. I enjoyed it! I was and Oshawott with partner Snivy.

This brings me to last late summer, and the turtle brainrot set in and grew. Less pokemon, more turtles! I debated back and forth whether to get Scarlet or Violet up til the day it released. And then I just didn't. I watched playthroughs though. Seems pretty good and I like a lot of the pokemon, especially after gen 8 when I struggled to find enough to fill out a team of 6. I only like to use pokemon I like. I'm sure I'll get it someday but for now, turtles have my brain.

And that's my pokemon origin story! Still mad about my mom selling all our pokemon plushies. I do still have my cousins pokemon cards and I treasure them <3

I am very adamant about my pokemon having the perfect nick names.

Umbreon is my favorite pokemon <3

There’s a lot of interesting and heavy content on the Sun and Moon Show at the moment, but it’s also great for character development, too. Even though it’s sad, and has potentially dire consequences for our favorite animatronics going forward.

First off, in terms of Sun—while it is definitely a bad idea for him to go off and try to kill Eclipse the way he has, I am at least proud of him for finally admitting that the two of them do share a lot of similarities and that Eclipse’s coding and base personality did not just come from Moon. And by similarities I am once again talking more about the capacity to feel anger and commit violence—though it is definitely not good that Sun is giving in to those desires in this particular manner. It still doesn’t make him “like Eclipse,” though, because at the root of it all is a genuine concern for his family. And he did seem willing to apologize to Lunar (or possibly he was going to apologize to Moon for making Lunar move out? He was willing to apologize for something, at least), even though it probably won’t be for the things Lunar wants it to be for.

(And part of me wonders if his anger toward Lunar isn’t also some lingering resentment for what they put Moon—and Sun, indirectly—through during October. Especially since wanting to help Moon and comparing KC to Eclipse and how Sun felt when he was still sharing a body with him are apparently Sun’s biggest motivators right now)

Also, I’m also glad that Sun attempted to convince Moon to stop shouldering some of the blame by pointing out that no matter where Eclipse came from, he made his own choices.

Speaking of Moon, he has also had a lot of growth in this, mostly in terms of trying to have better communication. He even sought outside help for practice and advice! And he was trying to be more open about his own experiences, and share empathy! It really is a sort of “role reversal” for the two of them, even if Sun is taking it to extremes in a very unhealthy way. Moon was definitely showing emotional vulnerability, and I’m proud of him. …Even as I worry about the repercussions this whole thing is going to have on him, especially considering that one of KC’s ultimate goals is to “break Moon.” And I think this just drove him that much closer.

Lunar moving out especially is something I think will have far more consequences than anyone realizes. I don’t blame Lunar, or think that they were wrong to do that, because they do need to keep themselves safe… but if you recall, back when KC first came back and Lunar was still in Moon’s head, when he offered to “stay and be Moon’s ‘happy’” because it “felt wrong to leave him” and cited one of Moon’s darker thoughts as to why, the specific one he showed Monty was Moon’s thought of “I’ll be abandoned eventually.” And this whole thing kind of proves that right, doesn’t it? Or at least that’s how Moon would most likely interpret it—Especially since Sun cut contact and Moon thinks that even if Sun makes it back physically safe, he’s still going to be different in a way that wouldn’t make him “Sun” anymore.

In that sense, it’s probably good that Earth showed up when she did, because at the very least she can provide a distraction for him to mother hen over. Not to mention that she supposedly has better daycare skills than Sun, and, quite frankly, Moon could use any kind of support in that department he can get considering that he’s going to have to take over for Sun and Lunar while they’re MIA, and he’s already stressed and dislikes most aspects of the job and dealing with kids directly.

The other thing to worry about, which has kind of been put on the backburner, is that as far as we know, Solar Flare is still out on their spying mission. And that might cause some snags as far as Earth is concerned, because while she’s a known entity to KC’s team (since he obviously would know about her via Moon, because I’m pretty sure Moon is wrong about him not being able to see or hear things while Moon is in control), Solar Flare is a complete unknown to Moon and co.

(Of course, I don’t actually know how relevant Earth is going to be for any upcoming videos if they haven’t gotten a new design/VR model for her yet. There are ways they can get around not actually showing her if they still use a voice actress and just have her be, like, talking offscreen or from the ballpit while Moon is hanging out on the balcony or in another room, but that’s not the sort of thing they’re going to want to depend on if she does become more important to the plot later.)

Anyways, as for final thoughts… I think part of why this particular “fight” and circumstances hurt so much is because it is very clear that both Sun and Moon are on these particular courses specifically because of how much they love each other and want to ease each other’s burdens. They even outright acknowledged onscreen how much they care for each other. And it’s definitely something they can work through as long as they both survive… it’s just that things are going to be different between them now, no matter what.

Nor have we prepared for how to react if and when we detect intelligent extraterrestrial life. While more asteroids are detectable today than 20 or 30 years ago thanks to programs like the Near Earth Object Observation Program, we are still not doing everything we can to reduce that risk or any other existential risks to our planet. The survival of our species may depend on our ability to detect threatening asteroids, yet progress on this front has been slow. Current NASA estimates are way less optimistic, although SpaceX still talks about that as a realistic timeline.Įven projects we might consider much more pressing have gotten bogged down. When I attended NASA’s First Mars Human Landing Site Workshop in Houston in 2015, the first astronauts were expected to arrive on the Red Planet in the mid-2030s. Interest in a human mission to Mars has rekindled after a long hiatus. While the ISS did maintain a presence in Earth orbit, it did not fulfill early hopes of propelling us to become a space-faring society (which may only now start to happen due to the initiative of private space companies). Instead, we launched space shuttles and built the International Space Station (ISS). In the 1980s, plans for a lunar outpost never materialized. A Europa lander remains stuck in the conceptual stage. During our discussions, we concluded that a basketball-sized lander to analyze the Europan ice for remnants of organic compounds and possibly life should be included in the mission. I was on the preliminary science definition team for a planned mission to Europa about 20 years ago. New missions to Venus and the outer Solar System are on the drawing board, but all too often these plans get delayed or even cancelled. But in the nearly half-century since the Viking mission, there hasn’t been a single spacecraft sent to Mars or any other planetary body explicitly devoted to detecting life.įor the cost of the Iraq War, we could already have a station on Mars with 10-12 inhabitants. Yes, there are still triumphs like the recent launch of the James Webb Space Telescope. Is our enthusiasm lost in space?Īt the same time, space exploration, especially human space exploration, seems to have slowed down - or at least become less ambitious - over the past couple of decades. Given the current state of affairs on our planet, we clearly could benefit from more people gaining this perspective.

Morely & Friends: The Eclipse Princess. (Part Two)

Continued From Here.

Morely: Your mother?

Princess: I suppose I should explain everything. If you’d be so kind as to follow me. I can lead you to safety.

Bill: We don’t need safety, we need to figure out how to stop her and save everyone else!

Piper: Let’s just hear her out ok?

Princess: My sincerest thanks.

The Princess lights a lantern and begins to lead the others through the sewers.

Princess: My name is Ceara. My mother..well I never knew her name, as silly as that may sound. I say mother but it’s only a formal title. She created me using her magic. We share the same blood in a way.

A flashback shows the Queen creating the princess underneath a lunar eclipse. It’s implied that she needed a drop of her own blood for the spell but nothing is shown on screen.

Ceara: My mother never wanted a daughter. She wanted a way to keep herself around forever.

Morely: Wait a minute...evil queen..eclipse princess? This is all from a story!

Piper: My mother used to read this one to us as children..

Ceara: Our story is very much true. I did my best to make sure it faded away, became nothing more than a bedtime story. I never wanted anyone to free my mother...

Bill: We’re at a dead end..

The princess opens up the brick wall to reveal a staircase and continues leading the others.

Ceara: My mother had many enemies, she knew that. She knew that one day someone might find a way to bring her to justice. Should that day come she wanted a way to continue on. She made me, a perfect vessel.

Piper: She was going to transfer her essence into you!

Bill: Essence?

Morely: It’s like..a soul. What’s inside you, the thing that makes you you.

Bill: Oh like ground beef and cheese!

Morely: ...Yeah

Ceara: Precisely. Eventually the time came, the rebellion stuck during a solar eclipse, when she was weakest. I was willing to let myself be...well I was willing to face my end if it meant she wouldn’t come back. If it meant the people would be free.

Ceara: At the moment of her destruction, one of the castle staff...the son of a powerful wizard cast a spell. He hid himself and mixed in with the staff for years, sneaking around and learning the queen’s magic behind her back.

Ceara: He had helped raise me. He couldn’t let me be destroyed. So instead he cast a spell and sealed my mother away, leaving her powerless. He made it look as if she were destroyed and spirited me from the castle.

Ceara finally leads the group to the underground ruins of a castle.

Morely: Whoa..what is this

Ceara: My mother’s castle. One of the man I told you about’s final acts. He collapsed the castle and sunk it deep into the ground. Hoping no one would ever find it or the chamber my mother was sealed in.

Piper: Something is bothering me...how are you still around? How are you still so young?

Ceara: I told you, my mother wanted a perfect vessel. One that would never age. So I simply can’t.

Tostada and Enchilada suddenly burst through one of the nearby walls.

Tostada: There they are! The queen said they’d be here!

Enchilada: Get em!

Morely: Wouldn’t be an adventure without a chase scene!

Ceara: Get to the center of the castle, you need to find the wizard’s tome!

Everyone splits up to race through the maze like corridors, all while the music of Sunsplosion! plays.

The scene shifts back to Benjamin and Grant, both are now sword fighting. Benjamin is on the ropes thanks to Grant’s superior skills.

Grant: And here I thought the Taco Felon was prepared for everything. Isn’t that what you claim? Isn’t that what you said before you triggered the trap that took my team away from me?

Benjamin groans as he’s struck and stumbles backwards.

Benjamin: What..I never..

Grant: I should have expected it..nothing but a liar till the bitter end. I could do it here and now but what’s the fun in that? I’m thinking..public execution..

Grant knocks out Benjamin and carries him back to the village.

The scene shifts and shows The Queen having taken the throne, the enslaved people are tearing down anything related to the Nacho King. Speaking of, the Nacho King, and Queen Queso are dressed like jesters and entertaining the Queen.

Queen: Such loyal subjects, much better than my old ones. You’ll all make a fine army when I invade the neighboring kingdoms and take back everything that is rightfully mine!

We cut back to Morely and the others racing through trap filled corridors as Tostada and Enchilada chase them down. Tostada twists a ring the Queen had given him, green flames spew from it and create several imp like minions which split off to chase down the others.

Ceara is cornered by the flame imps but saved by Bill who sacrifices himself and is captured. Ceara slips away.

Morely and Piper find the central chamber and examine the shattered crystal while frantically looking for the spell book. Piper eventually finds it only to be knocked out by Enchilada. Tostada approaches Morely but our hero manages to grab the book and evade the brute.

Morely rushes out of the chamber and is beckoned by Ceara to follow him.

Ceara: We have to go, we can free the others later.

Morely: But..

Ceara: If they get ahold of the tome all is lost.

The Queen laughs as one by one everyone is brought before her. Piper, Bill, and Benjamin.

Queen: My my, more loyal subjects to do my bidding.

The Queen holds her staff up and enchants Piper, and Bill.

Grant: The other one is mine..

Queen: Yes, we agreed upon that. Shall I order everyone to the town square to watch you dispatch him?

The Queen grins and suddenly everyone begins to march out to the village, Grant drags Benjamin behind him.

Morely and Ceara are shown sneaking back into the village. Morely attempts to understand the book.

Morely: But you said your mother is weakest during a solar eclipse..there’s a lunar one tonight. Doesn’t that mean she’s gonna be super strong?

Ceara: Yes, but lucky for us..so will I. Now..we can not imprison my mother again, we lack a vessel.

Morely: Another vessel?

Ceara: The chamber she was sealed in was destroyed and the crystal shattered. The tome may be able to imprison her again but we’d need to know the right runes..

Morely: OH the thingys on the wall? I took a look at those, they were all faded but I think I saw em.

Ceara: Be that as it may...the best option is to use the tome to destroy her..

Morely: But that means..

Ceara: I am prepared for that.

Back in the town square Benjamin is bound on the stage with Grant behind him. The Queen is on a throne being carried by the villagers.

Benjamin: I’m telling you I had nothing to do with what happened..I didn’t have access to that kind of equipment..and I never put people’s lives in danger!

Grant: No one believes those lies of yours. It makes me sick how everyone these days views you as some sort of hero...when the ones who truly do the work don’t get the recognition they deserve!

Benjamin: Why do you think I left! I wanted to make sure the royal guards got more respect. I created a villain for Morely to chase so that the guards could handle everything else, so that they could be seen as important. That they wouldn’t be overlooked...

Queen: Why the hesitation, isn’t this what I promised you?

Benjamin: How did she know when to reach out to you...do you really believe what you told me on the way here? That she could feel your need for vengeance? Tons of people could have been feeling negative emotions at that time..why you?

Suddenly Morely and Ceara arrive on the scene, Ceara blasting the Queen with her own magic and knocking her off the throne. Morely looks up in time to see the eclipse beginning.

Queen: I command you to destroy them!

The townsfolk turn and march toward Ceara and Morely. Ceara manages to break her mother’s spell. She frees Bill, and Piper who rush to aid Morely.

Morely comically starts trying to read the tome while jumping and avoiding people trying to grab him. Piper and Bill run from Tostada and Enchilada.

Piper and Bill manage to run down different alleyways until they run right at each other. Bill and Piper slide down and go between the legs of their pursuers, causing Tostada and Enchilada to crash into each other and get knocked for a loop.

Queen: You! Live up to your end of the bargain and dispatch these insolent whelps!

Grant glances around at the chaos and draws his sword. He thinks for a moment before suddenly cutting Benjamin free and jumping down to try and take the staff away from the Queen.

The Queen reaches out with her magic and knocks Ceara down before grabbing the throat of Grant.

Queen: I thought you had so much potential...I could have made you something truly special..I had already set you on your path...gave you the little push you needed..got rid of what was holding you back..

Grant comes to the realization that the Queen was behind everything. She was responsible for the situation that cost him his team..because she needed to send him down a path. He glares at the Queen and manages to raise his right hand enough to fire off the wrist blaster he wore, sending the Queen flying backwards.

The Eclipse is at max and the Queen rises back up, bolts of green energy being flung left and right, striking buildings. She glances down and fires a blast at Grant but he’s tackled out of the way by Benjamin. Benjamin suffers a small hit to his leg.

Bill is seen following Morely’s instructions and carving runes into something. Morely begins to read a spell as the Queen turns to him preparing to fire at him. Ceara jumps in front of him and fires her own magic, the beams locking in the air, energy crackling around them.

The Queen gets the better of Ceara for a moment and knocks her aside. Morely finishes reading the imprisonment spell but the Queen laughs.

Queen: No vessel, no crystal, no chance!

Bill suddenly reveals...a Taco Bucket with runes on the side of it

Morely: THAT’S ALL YOU COULD FIND!?!

Bill: Sorry?

Piper: It’ll have to do...I hope I put this thing back together right!

Piper produces the crystal and drops it into the bucket..a vortex begins to pull the Queen in but it’s not strong enough. As she resists she uses her magic to grab Morely and position him over the vortex.

Queen: If this had been any other time..perhaps you’d have won..but the eclipse..

Ceara: Is over!

Ceara uses the last of her boosted power to blast the Queen in the back. Bill pulls Morely aside as Benjamin and Grant both use their weapons to fire at the Queen and send her into the vortex. The bucket closes afterwards.

Ceara lifts up the bucket and throws it into the air, blasting it off into the distance.

Queen: I’ll get out of this and when I dooooooooooooooooo

Tostada: Uh-oh..

Enchilada: Coming your majesty!

Tostada and Enchilada comically run into the distance.

The spell is broken and everyone returns to their normal selves. Benjamin looks around but can’t find Grant.

Morely: What are you going to do now?

Ceara: I do not know...I did not expect you to use that spell. I was convinced that you would do as I asked and..

Morely: I always do whatever I can to help my friends. Even if it’s a long shot, even if it’s not the smartest idea..even if I don’t know how it’s going to turn out.

Nacho King: Well that’s a lesson to be sure..but uh..could someone tell me why I’m dressed like this?

Everyone laughs for a moment before beginning to clean up the mess. Piper heads off with Ceara, asking her all sorts of questions about what she’s seen in her long life.

Benjamin has his injury tended to while wondering where Grant went.

As for Morely and Bill..well there’s always a new adventure waiting for those two!

Anything you can tell us about Arainia and Blade’s kiddo??

Yes, their first child was a boy named Tamwyn, Tam for short! He was the spitting image of his father, but with Arainia’s eyes and Elvish ears, and he was a very serious little baby, peering around at the world with silent gravity befitting a Bronwyn. Arainia was kind of like “...is our baby okay” but it turned out that Uncle Chase and Uncle Trouble could always make him laugh! Thus, they were always on babysitting duty whenever both Arainia and Blade had to go out of town for a mission...

(This isn’t necessarily canon because it was written when I was like 15 maybe, which was before I knew Riel was going to blast off and commit treason and I’m pretty sure it’s an AU where Junoth didn’t die or I hadn’t done it yet RIP)

Anyway, as you can tell, it was a slightly chaotic but very loving infanthood for him! The official books stop when Tam’s about six months old, but I always had plans for him to grow up to become a strong Battle-Mage like his mother. He’d be a quiet, sensible, somewhat sensitive boy who had to dig deep to access his latent power in his youth. As a young adult, he would have been more confident and possibly headstrong--I feel like he would have had an intense teen rebellion phase--and eventually would grow into a powerful leader with a measured way of seeing the world, but still with a strong sense of empathy and emotional intelligence! He would have been very close to his uncles; would have had a teen crush on Kana, Halek and Wintry’s kid, that probably would have faded quickly; and I feel like he would have an academic side and would want to help Uncle Red with his magical research as a kind of intern, which would annoy Blade deeply, though of course he’d never say so!

There was also always the plan for them to have a second kid, a daughter four years younger than Tam named either Lyra or Amaya, who would have been more Ket like her dad and would have had an unusual mix of both arma and a little magic! She would have been more spunky and energetic than her brother and probably would look totally different from the rest of her dark-haired family due to the weird Mage genetics!

Also is there like,,,any precedent set for pregnant Shepherds? Paid family leave 😅? I’m assuming they’d have to be upfront to their superior about it if they choose to carry to term and are probably put on desk duty?

In the books, relationships were very strictly forbidden within the Shepherd’s Order, more so than they are in the game; it was a rule that had been carried out for hundreds of years, since the founding of the Order, so there wasn’t really a precedent set for both parents being Shepherds when one got pregnant! In the old days, you’d most likely be fired if you revealed that you got another Shepherd officer pregnant... 😅

Prior to Blade assuming command, there was paid family leave for a Shepherd officer to take time off and raise their children, but it was always expected that their spouse, partner, or what have you was from outside of the Order. Most were put on desk duty until closer to their due date, but some chose to take time off immediately upon discovering their pregnancy. Lunar Corps division officers (those who took on more urgent, specialized, or dangerous missions) were paid both a base salary as well as extra for most missions, which were graded according to risk. (The higher the grade, the more you’d get paid for taking that mission.) If you got pregnant and planned on having the child, you could take time off pretty much indefinitely and just keep the base salary, with bonuses thrown in if your superior liked you and thought you deserved it, of course. However, it was considered unethical to collect this money if you didn’t actually plan on resuming work with the Order after your baby was around three (though of course you could request to extend leave); so long as you actually came back to work afterwards, this was all legitimate.

However, things got messy once Shepherd couples got into the mix. Could both parties take leave, and for how long? Couples weren’t even allowed until Blade assumed command: he immediately changed the policy so that couples were allowed within the Order, but typically placed on different teams or missions, to avoid distractions during fights or work in the field. (This also applied to him and Arainia, though there were sometimes exceptions that had to be made.) He also allowed both parties paid leave with base salaries, but with the stipulation that one party should return to work after ten months to one year, unless they requested to extend that leave.

Halek and Wintry’s child, Kana, was the first real “Shepherd baby”. Wintry chose to take the paid leave for the first year and a half of Kana’s life; they had also bought a restaurant as a side investment for whenever they retired, so there was income coming from that while Halek continued work as a Shepherd. And they were already on separate teams, so when she returned, it wasn’t that much of an issue!

What about the other parent, assuming it’s a Shepherd-Are they like,,able to request assignments close by/shorter assignments later in the pregnancy? (for example I’m guessing all ROs would be pretty adamant about sticking nearby)

If the Shepherds in question are Lunar Corps agents, it depends on their ranks! Lower-ranked agents were always placed on squads of seven and were assigned 80% of their cases and missions by higher-ups. But there were always missions placed on a roster that were “up for grabs” until a certain date, at which point they would be assigned to whatever team was available at that deadline. 20% of team missions could be one of those free missions, and if you were a higher-ranking agent no longer grouped into a team, you could also take on those missions of your own volition about 50% of the time. In short, you could choose about 50% of your own missions, because there were so many requests and petitions floating around all the time, so a Shepherd parent could just choose the missions that were close to home and pass on the ones that weren’t.

For the missions that they couldn’t choose and were assigned, you could always put in an unofficial request to your superior; they would usually do their best to accommodate you, but there were simply some times where there wasn’t any choice, especially if you had a specialized position that few others could replace. That duty comes with being a Shepherd, and I imagine it would be the same in the game! You can make the request and people will try their hardest to accommodate, but it's not a guarantee and if you can't meet the demands of the job, you'll probably be moved over to Solar Corps, which handles things like local patrols.

In the original novels, were there separate setups in the compound for married shepherds/ ones with kids ?

The Shepherds’ Tower in the books was actually more like a workplace and police precinct, so there were actually no living quarters or dormitories there! It was more like a skyscraper, and Shepherd officers lived in their own personal apartments or occasionally shared houses in Haven. There were some buildings that the Order rented out entirely just for Shepherd officers to live in, but these were few and far between.

In the books, most of the protagonists lived in small apartments in the Market Quarter; Blade and Arainia lived on the same floor of their apartment and the other team members lived close by or even on the same street; there was an ill-fated move where all seven (ten?) of them shared a big house in Whitestone (which in the books wasn’t just for aristocrats, it was just a nicer neighborhood) for like a year for some reason; and then Blade and Arainia lived in a house in the Market Quarter (I even remember their address, 771 Bomba Street) after they got married!

Scientists are interested in 16 Psyche because if its presumed origins are true, it would provide an opportunity to study an exposed planetary core up close. NASA is scheduled to launch its Psyche mission in 2022 and arrive at the asteroid in 2026. UArizona undergraduate student David Cantillo is lead author of a new paper published in The Planetary Science Journal that proposes 16 Psyche is 82.5% metal, 7% low-iron pyroxene and 10.5% carbonaceous chondrite that was likely delivered by impacts from other asteroids. Cantillo and his collaborators estimate that 16 Psyche's bulk density - also known as porosity, which refers to how much empty space is found within its body - is around 35%. These estimates differ from past analyses of 16 Psyche's composition that led researchers to estimate it could contain as much as 95% metal and be much denser. "That drop in metallic content and bulk density is interesting because it shows that 16 Psyche is more modified than previously thought," Cantillo said. Rather than being an intact exposed core of an early planet, it might actually be closer to a rubble pile, similar to another thoroughly studied asteroid -- Bennu. UArizona leads the science mission team for NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission, which retrieved a sample from Bennu's surface that is now making its way back to Earth. "Psyche as a rubble pile would be very unexpected, but our data continues to show low-density estimates despite its high metallic content," Cantillo said. Asteroid 16 Psyche is about the size of Massachusetts, and scientists estimate it contains about 1% of all asteroid belt material. First spotted by an Italian astronomer in 1852, it was the 16th asteroid ever discovered. "Having a lower metallic content than once thought means that the asteroid could have been exposed to collisions with asteroids containing the more common carbonaceous chondrites, which deposited a surface layer that we are observing," Cantillo said. This was also observed on asteroid Vesta by the NASA Dawn spacecraft. Asteroid 16 Psyche has been estimated to been worth $10,000 quadrillion (that's $10,000 followed by 15 more zeroes), but the new findings could slightly devalue the iron-rich asteroid. "This is the first paper to set some specific constraints on its surface content. Earlier estimates were a good start, but this refines those numbers a bit more," Cantillo said. The other well-studied asteroid, Bennu, contains a lot of carbonaceous chondrite material and has porosity of over 50%, which is a classic characteristic of a rubble pile. Such high porosity is common for relatively small and low-mass objects such as Bennu - which is only as large as the Empire State Building - because a weak gravitational field prevents the object's rocks and boulders from being packed together too tightly. But for an object the size of 16 Psyche to be so porous is unexpected. "The opportunity to study an exposed core of a planetesimal is extremely rare, which is why they're sending the spacecraft mission there," Cantillo said, "but our work shows that 16 Psyche is a lot more interesting than expected." Past estimates of 16 Psyche's composition were done by analyzing the sunlight reflected off its surface. The pattern of light matched that of other metallic objects. Cantillo and his collaborators instead recreated 16 Psyche's regolith - or loose rocky surface material - by mixing different materials in a lab and analyzing light patterns until they matched telescope observations of the asteroid. There are only a few labs in the world practicing this technique, including the UArizona Lunar and Planetary Laboratory and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland, where Cantillo worked while in high school. "I've always been interested in space," said Cantillo, who is also president of the UArizona Astronomy Club. "I knew that astronomy studies would be heavy on computers and observation, but I like to do more hands-on kind of work, so I wanted to connect my studies to geology somehow. I'm majoring geology and minoring in planetary science and math." "David's paper is an example of the cutting-edge research work done by our undergraduate students," said study co-author Vishnu Reddy, an associate professor of planetary sciences who heads up the lab in which Cantillo works. "It is also a fine example of the collaborative effort between undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and staff in my lab." The researchers also believe the carbonaceous material on 16 Psyche's surface is rich in water, so they will next work to merge data from ground-based telescopes and spacecraft missions to other asteroids to help determine the amount of water present.

I definitely agree with Blues or Purple for Cinder’s colors dunno if I’d do Silver though. How do you feel about Cinder wearing Purple & Gold? Or White Gray and Gold? I have a hard time choosing her colors. I could easily see in her in a Purple & Gold dress but I also think the White & Gray fits the idea of Ash/Cinders with the addition of some Gold that matches her eyes. Blue and Silver makes her look too close to Weiss/Winter and Atlas imo. So I’d keep Gold to differentiate them. -EmperorLuffy

I appreciate hearing your thoughts but I've had exactly the same debate here already so I'm going to point you in that direction. I also really recommend taking a perusal of this tag in my pinned post.

I've also stated many times that warm blue/warm purple as per her pin would be appropriate

whilst Blake and Weiss respectively are cold purple and cold blue. So you would be getting a different colour temperature especially appropriate for her fire-theming.

Blue (and a little purple) is the heart of a flame at its hottest.

And I could see them incorporating potentially even orange into her outfit as it is. Cinder's the orange to factor into the team's rainbow so that's important as well.

Also her eyes are orange, not gold, just like her Aura. There is some yellow in them, which if we're going Knightfall tinfoil hatty, well...

The thematic points take precedence (silver/lunar) in addition to the distribution of colours across the cast as well. I'm not really sure if grey makes any sense especially when you could get silver in and as it is white/black is already distributed across her and Jaune (even with the white ends of her black hair).

As it is she's already lunar and fire, and Jaune is solar and water and gold, so if she remains gold the romance is not happening (and again you can go back and reread what I said about lead and gold and Jaune). I imagine that you want the Knightfall romance to happen, so this feels like a point I can leverage particularly well.

So it would be a visual indicator to me they don't go in that direction if her future outfits don't incorporate silver. It's not subject to whim, it's subject to thematic questions at hand.

I'm not even just arguing for what I like, I'm arguing for what seems to make sense (I think I even said this in the original post). So it's not really just how I feel.

I'm not really sure how to argue my case otherwise. To me the transformation visually is much more potent, and the blue/purple is already enough distinction with the temperature variability taken into account.

Also, this is kind of just a non-issue to me. The colour and the metallic imagery are communicative and subject to the greater message. *shrugs* She's wearing only black, ash, fire deadened and the remnant of gold. Fun and exciting colours would be nice, especially if she begins to embrace redemption/who she 'truly' could be (aka silver lining up with the moon).

KnB commentary : Why Kuroko and Kagami make such a compelling Duo (The Astrological Angle)

In my previous post I made a brief discussion about how the KnB characters don’t fit in their Zodiac stereotypes and how they fit in quiet well with traditional Eastern (Vedic) astrological views. Here I need to discuss why Kuroko and Kagami are the “Light and the Shadow” of the series and how it is seen through their Astrological signs (Sun Sign)

Kuroko is born under the Second Aquarius constellation of Shatavisha (the constellation of 100 Physicians) Ruled by the North Node of the Moon and Kagami is born under the first constellation of Leo, that of Magha (the blessed one) Ruled by the South node of the moon. These two are very special signs under very special constellations. The nodes are shadow planet and that’s how the Vedic Mythology explains how these were created (trust it’s important)

Story time:

Okay... so eons back, in the ages of God: Indra, King of Gods and Master of Thunder pissed off a sage real bad. That sage cursed the gods to be bereft of “Shree” or “Fortune”--the entire universe fell into complete chaos because there was poverty, famine, weakness, petulance everywhere. So the gods and the demons gathered (for the first and final time) to churn up the oceans to bring the Goddess of Fortune or “Shree” (popularly known Laxmi) back.

The churning was done with the help of a great serpent and a mountain named Mainak, and the Demons pulled the snake from one side and the Gods from the other end. Long story short, a lot of things came out, including the Shree, and the Elixir of immortality. all the things were divided between the Gods and Demons by Vishnu the God of Sustenance and husband of Shree, but when it came to the Elixir, none of the groups wanted to share it with the other. So Vishnu meditated that both will get equal share, but he knew if Demons got it, they will destroy the universe with their dark powers. So he tricked the Demons into thinking that they were getting the elixirs, while the Gods drank it for real.

One of the Demon, Rahu, figuered the scam out and joined the God’s team in disguise; and who found him out: Surya (the Sun) and Soma (the Moon). whilst the demon was having the elixir and it reached only to his throat, Vishnu beheaded him with his Discus. The Head became Rahu: The North node of the Moon and the Headless body became Ketu: the South node of the Moon. Because the state were brought by two luminary bodies, they are still trying to kick their asses whenever these shadow planets conjunct with Sun and Moon in birth chart.

Kagami, the Ultimate light to Kuroko

In Astrology, Ketu or the South node represents hidden talents, detachments, things that gets stored as Karma and gets result later: be it good or bad. The Rahu or the North Node on the other hand signifies illusions, phantoms, big ideas, out of the box thinking, excessive desire, passion and immense gains. Rahu is the head, who is full of ideas but needs a vessel to fulfill his desires in the earthly life. Kuroko, from the very beginning had this very impossible standard to conquer his old schoolmates, The Generation of Miracles, who were vastly out of his league as basketball players: he is this “phantom” that is looking for a conduit because he cannot be alone as an individual to shine.

Kagami on the other hand is this prodigious player with his immense power and skill which comes naturally to him without even “trying too hard”: this is Ketu talking. Ketu sometimes gives people (especially in fire signs) the hidden talents or skills that they can do without trying too hard, and they think it’s natural. But Ketu being Ketu also creates detachment through it with other people who think that it is unfair when he gets to be so good, while they are barely scratching the surface. He is a power stored up and he practically has no direction other than “being no 1”--he has no clue how he will do it until Kuroko comes in picture.

In Kagami-Kuroko dynamics, Kuroko is definitely the brain of their duo: he is the one who puts sense in Kagami, puts stratagies in him in early stages, and Kagami is the body: with his talent he utilities Kuroko’s potential to the fullest. Incidentally, Kuroko’s birth constellation is ruled by the “Head” North node, and Kagami’s the “body” South node.

In the Zodiac wheel, the First Six Signs are: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo and Virgo and on their opposites, respectively sit Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. It can be seen clearly that right to the opposite of Leo: “the House of Sun” sits Aquarius: “The House of Saturn”--polar opposites. One represents heat, passion, extravagance (sun) the other conservation, coldness and calculation (saturn)--they were meant to counterbalance each other: Kagami getting cooled off while Kuroko getting the warmth.

Why Aomine-Kuroko/ Akashi-Kuroko Didn’t become the thing

Both Aomine and Akashi are sun influenced: Aomine is born under the second Sun ruled constellation Uttar Phalguni (the younger red one) and Akashi is born under the final sun ruled constellation, Uttar Ashada (the undefead one). Sun born people are filled with energy and they radiate plenty of it. And because of the radiance, the Nodes influenced or Rahu and Ketu influenced people love to be around them, to bask into their light and warmth. While the Sun energy benefits the Node, (Kuroko, who is Rahu influenced), it makes the Sun energy either drained or combust: either they flare up too much with energy, or they just get exhausted. Even in Horoscope, whenever Rahu sits with Sun in the same house, it eclipses the Sun: it comes from the Vedic Myth that because Sun and Moon found out Rahu’s mischief, Rahu tries to swallow them up from time to time and Solar and Lunar eclipse occurs (please don’t @ me every culture has their own Mythic take on these things)

Aomine broke out into depression after he started playing with Kuroko as a duo. I am not saying it is Kuroko’s fault, but here some of Kuroko’s draining Nodal energy comes in play. Daiki became very good, almost combust with energy and suddenly he fell into this void of space. This is what Rahu does: it gives sudden gains and takes it all away.

Akashi on the other hand is complicated to understand from the first. I had my doubts, like why would he come to scout Kuroko all the way from his ranks and teach him the phantom passing technique? Then I understood something else when I started to do this thing: Akashi, born under the Last Sun Rule Constellation had already reached the maturity of the Sun energy--which means the Sun was wise enough to keep the draining nodal energy at bay. The budding rising sun is represented by the Krittika Constellation under which Hyuuga is born (Taurus), then comes the Youthful and vigorous midday sun Uttar Phalguni,Daiki’s birth constellation (Virgo) and then comes the Old and mature afternoon sun Uttar Ashada, Akashi’s constellation (Sagittarius) represent the Three Sun energies in Zodiac Constellations, and Akashi amongst them represent the light of the sun with it’s imposing and without the harshness. Perhaps it’s his stars that convinced him to give Kuroko a position that will maximize their “gains” (a domain Rahu represents, along with 11th House of Zodiac: Aquarius) through passes. But he would not be working with him 1-on-1 because the gains must be distributed wisely

Pokemon x Exo pt. 3: Poke Kid Joey

Looking at your Sobble nervously, the Sobble seemed to recognize Scorbunny as a friend and got ready to fight. You nodded slightly at Donghyuck and borrowed a stance you saw trainers use on T.V. The Scorbunny and Sobble seemed to know more about battling than you did. Both of the pokémon seemed to be comfortable in standing against each other. As if knowing no matter the aftermath of the battle, their friendship will stay intact.

“Y/N! From now on I will be called Haechan! Scorbunny and I will become a solar eclipse upon the training world! Look away now, no one can take on such a team surrounded by sunrays!” Donghyuck, now deemed as Haechan, smiled brightly while his scorbunny struck a cute little pose.

“Oh Really? I hope you don’t mind Sobble and I becoming a Lunar eclipse to defeat your solar flare,” You challenged. Even though you said it, you cringed a little bit internally.

“Scorbunny use Tackle!” Haechan jumped the gun to make his move first.

“Studying the chart, a while back, you recalled water is strong against fire type pokémon.“Sobble use watergun!” You decided after checking to see if Sobble was okay. Sobble took a moment to prepare itself and let loose a stream of water. It slapped the Scorbunny across the face and Scorbunny fell back. The water move was a lot more powerful than what you were expecting. The Scorbunny hopped back up.

“Alright I see how you want to battle, haha! Scorbunny use Ember!” Haechan yelled out, you flinched as the fire move hit Sobble. Although it wasn’t highly effective, it still had to hurt.

“Sobble use Pound!” You matched Haechan’s energy, knowing the Scorbunny couldn’t last much longer after such a powerful water move. As if agreeing with your suspicion, the Scorbunny fell back after the being hit by pound and didn’t get back up. The battle seemed to end as quickly as it started. Sobble quickly ran over to check on his friend. You followed worriedly as Haechan picked up Scorbunny.

“That was a great first battle, and I can see that Scorbunny and I need to work really hard to catch up to you two. I thought Scorbunny and I had an instant connection, but you two are quite powerful together,” Haechan spoke as he led you and Sobble back to the pokémart to heal Scorbunny.

“It was our first battle, I’m sure we just got lucky. Sobble and I haven’t truly bonded just yet,” You shook your head and bent down to pick up Sobble. The two of you walked into the pokémart and waited in a small line for the woman behind the counter to heal your pokémon.

“Alright well, I’m going to run up ahead. I want to put together the best team possible! I’ll meet you in Zinnia City where we will take on the youngest of the Nine!” Haechan smiled happily as he gave you a quick hug and ran off to the first route.

You watched as Haechan became smaller in the distance and you took a final look around Orchidville. With Sobble by your side, the two of you began your journey. Route 1 didn’t seem to be much trouble as the sign for Route 2 became visible after a few minutes. As you began Route 2 a child jumped out of a bush and onto your path. You jumped back startled.

“Stop trainer! I’m going to be the best trainer around! I challenge you to a pokémon battle!” They were dressed in a pikachu onesie and they pointed at you like you stole something from them.

“I don’t know about that-“ The child threw out a Skwovet before you could finish your sentence.

“I don’t want to battle a child,” You quickly stated as you tried to stop the battle.

“What are you too good to accept my challenge? Poké Kid Joey is here to take you down!” The child, Joey, insisted.

“Where are your parents?” You looked around, hoping to see concerned parents coming to stop the battle. You saw no one doing that. Your Sobble looked at you confusedly.

“Are you new? We made eye contact you have to battle me! That’s the rules! How are you going to get past Route 2 if you don’t know the rules?” Joey rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest in a disappointed fashion.

“Skwovet use tackle!” Joey pointed at Sobble and the Skwovet rushed forward. You sighed noticing this child is not going to leave you alone. You certainly weren’t going to allow this child and his rodent to hurt Sobble without a consequence.

“Sobble use Pound,” Your Sobble turned from you and rushed forward to attack the rodent. After a few turns the rodent fell back in defeat.

“Ah rats! You beat me! Aren’t you being a bit too mean,” Joey sighed and picked up his Skwovet, you felt awful as Joey walked past you back to Orchidville. Sobble looked at you in a pointed manner.

“What was I supposed to do?” You asked Sobble, who promptly started walking away from you.

“He attacked me?” You tried to reason with the Sobble as it walked beside you.

A couple minutes of silence passed, when suddenly a Nickit jumped out of the tall grass. Once again, you’ve been startled by a small attacker. The Sobble got into position, making the decision to fight for you. As you tell Sobble to Pound, the small Nickit gets a little weaker. You pulled a pokéball out of your bag and throw it above the Nickit. The Nickit seemed to chuckle at your horrible throw, so you throw another.

It opens up and you wait in anticipation to see if the Nickit will become apart of your team. The ball wiggles once, twice, three times before finally settling. You smile and pick up the ball, you then give Sobble a potion to heal your partner pokémon. A few more trainers tried to take you and Sobble on, only to be bested by your partner. After a couple hours of battling and walking, Zinnia City appeared in the distance. You held Sobble close and started to walk quickly until you made it into the city.

Zinnia City is very lively. Flowers and bushes outlined the roads and walkways, not a lot of trees to stop the wind from running around the city though. Many trees seemed to outline the outside of the city rather than the inside. You stopped at the pokémart as soon as you saw it to heal Sobble and Nickit. As you left, a familiar voice grabbed your attention.

“Y/N! Hey!” You turned around to see Haechan smiling and waving excitedly. He ran over with Scorbunny close behind.

“You made it! I was starting to get worried,” Haechan teased lightly.

“I was taking my time, did you get ambushed by a child on your way here?” You asked as you remembered the strange incident.

“Oh… I completely forgot to tell you! The rule of the road is that if you make eye contact with another trainer, you need to battle them. Sometimes you can avoid them, but it helps your pokémon get stronger. You may even when some money from it,” Haechan explains.

“That’s sounds… illegal?” You said confusedly. Haechan just shrugged and pulled you over to a restaurant.

“That’s just how it is. Here sit down and relax. I’ll cover the meal this time, okay?” Haechan smiled and handed you a menu. The waitress came and quickly grabbed your order.

“So, while I was waiting for you, I talked to some of the locals to get information about Gym Leader Sehun,” Haechan began as you two waited for your food. Scorbunny and Sobble seemed to start a conversation on their own.

“His Leafeon, as stated by the professor, is his partner pokémon. From what I understand he also has Bellossom. Although they both pretty powerful, you might want to get some more practice with Sobble. Do you have another pokémon on your team?” Haechan asked curiously.

“I have a Nickit who laughed at me because I missed him the first time I threw the pokéball at him,” You sighed as you held up the ball with your Nickit in it.

“Wow, you got ambushed by a child and your Nickit laughed at you? You’re having a rough start, aren’t you?” Haechan shook his head as he took the Nickit in his hand.

“Listen Nickit, you picked a great trainer. I promise they’re very kind, so don’t give them a difficult time,” He scolded the Nickit gently before handing the pokéball back to you.

“We won’t challenge the gym until we’re sure you’re ready. I have a natural advantage with Scorbunny for this gym, but you have a natural disadvantage with Sobble,” Haechan explained. The waitress came over with your food and some little dishes for Scorbunny and Sobble. She informed both of you it the little meals for the pokémon are on the house. All four of you quickly began to eat, finally relaxing after a rough day.

NejiWeek Day 7 - Eclipse

It was a cool night. The early July heat had broken early in the day with a brief shower, a welcome reprieve after several days of sweltering humidity. It was the perfect night to lay out under the stars.

Team Gai had gathered at their training ground to watch the eclipse.

“When will it start, Gai-sensei?” asked Lee.

“Soon. You must be patient. We cannot rush nature.”

Neji watched the moon, waiting.

“Tenten!” said Gai, “Tell us all about the celestial meaning and messages for this most magical event!”

To his left, Neji heard Tenten sigh.

She was only pretending at desperation; Neji could tell. He could feel her energy vibrating and humming with excitement at the prospect of discussing the astrological aspects of the eclipse.

“Well, I’m still learning,” she admitted, “but eclipses are about change - really intense change. But some people are more sensitive to it than others. It depends on your natal chart.”

“Tenten! What does the eclipse mean for me?” asked Lee.

“Hmm. Well, Lee, this eclipse is in the sign of Capricorn, and —“

“Capricorn! That’s Gai-sensei’s sign!”

“Yes, it is.”

Neji rolled his eyes. It wasn’t that he put too much stock in the stars, but he was curious about what Tenten had to say.

“As I was saying. The last eclipse was a solar eclipse in Cancer. That was last month.”

“Last month?” Neji asked.

“I don’t remember that, Tenten,” added Lee.

“It was only visible over Suna,” said Tenten, “as I was saying, Capricorn tends to deal with matters of your career. Capricorns tend to be hard workers who are confident in their purpose and goals. Cancers tend to be very family-oriented, so, from what I’ve been reading, this eclipse will bring matters of work and family to light. Lunar eclipses also deal with conclusions, so you should look for resolution or endings instead of worrying about new situations.”

Neji frowned. Family-oriented? He was a Cancer, but… his family wasn’t exactly something he enjoyed focusing on. Tenten poked his arm, and he turned to look at her.

“Family-oriented doesn’t mean one big happy family, but it does mean your family has a large impact on your life and the decisions you make.”

Neji turned away from her and pondered his response.

“Work?!” Lee asked, “Do you think the eclipse could help with my leg?”

“It must, Lee!” Gai said.

“Then, I think I should get the surgery.”

“Wait… what?” said Tenten.

Neji looked over to Lee. Gai had sat up and was looking down at him, shining with pride and freshly shed tears.

“Lee, are you sure?” he asked, “Tsunade-sama said the chances of recovery were—“

“It doesn’t matter, Gai-sensei. Tenten said this eclipse brings about conclusions, and it is time I decided.”

“But Lee…” Tenten’s voice was quiet. “What if the conclusion is your career?”

“That’s the same conclusion if I do nothing. I want to try.”

They were quiet for a while, watching as the sun slowly slid in front of the moon. It was hard to see at first, but then the moon was no longer full.

“How long will it take, Tenten?” asked Gai.

“Maybe an hour or two?”

“And what does this even mean for my other two students?”

“Similar as with Lee, same for you too, Gai-sensei. It will bring us some family-work conclusions. Some people, like Lee, may feel it stronger than others.”

“Oh!” cried Lee, “Then surely Neji will have a very busy eclipse!”

Neji frowned.

“Why would you say that?”

“Because your birthday was just two days ago! Surely that means something!”

“The chunin exams are just a couple days away,” added Tenten. “I bet you’ll have quite the conclusion.”

“I’ll defeat Naruto and become a chunin. It’s expected.”

They fell silent again, and Tenten rolled into his vision, leaning over him.

She whispered so that only he could hear.

They hadn’t talked much about his match against Hinata. Tenten had been angry at him, and it had stung worse than Gai’s disappointment. Hiashi had been livid too and punished him accordingly. But that was expected. Tenten wasn’t supposed to get angry at him over his family; she knew too much, was too understanding. And Neji had thought they’d moved on from this topic, but she had brought it right back into focus.

The moon was a bright white crescent now, sliding through a month’s worth of phases in just over an hour.

Neji wouldn’t have minded Tenten’s anger or the ensuing fight they’d had if she didn’t have a knack for being right about these things.

The moon was visible again, full and stained red, like a sunset.

LEAGUE 30 QUESTIONS:

Did this on my blog when I first transitioned to being League-Only and I wanted to see how much my answers changed. OwO 1) When did I start? July 15th, 2017 (a couple days after Kayn was released). It was a month after I moved in with my boyfriend and he introduced me to it. ♥ 2) The first champ you played? Sona. Well, technically Ashe because back then you weren’t able to choose what champ to try out and you weren’t in the middle lane on summoner’s rift. It was Ashe on howling abyss and they’d recommend building warmogs and thornmail??? I’m so glad they’ve updated the tutorial since I started. 3) My favorite champ to play right now is Nami. I love her w poke, I like her cc, I like her skins, I like spamming her laugh- she’s my fave ♥ 4) Which Champ has the best lore? Kindred because they’re literally death incarnate. 5) My main role: SUPPORT!~ (If you play with me? Sorry but support is my role :3) 6) My weakest role: Jungle for sure. I’ve said this on repeat, I salute to jungle mains. There is so much pressure with being a jungler because:

you gotta worry about jungle pressure

enemy team/jungler invading your jungle

hoping your team rotates when the enemy team invades/ enemy jungler invades

being able to successfully gank lanes and not fall behind the enemy jungler

hoping your team rotates to help you secure objectives

I could go on and on but I’ll leave it there for now. My boyfriend is a top/jungle main and he constantly tells me how, “easy and carefree” jungle is but I don’t think I could ever be good at it. 7) Champ I hate the most: Vladimir. Poor boy needs a visual update but UGH, I HATE HIS HEALING! Been mainly playing wow with occasional urf games inbetween. BUT YOU CAN BET YOUR ASS IM GONNA BE BACK WHEN NEXUS BLITZ COMES BACK AROUND, YES MA’AM!) 29) Have you ever uninstalled? Out of rage- nah. I think I thought about it before after getting into heated arguments with my boyfriend when both playing together but I never did. I did have to uninstall and then reinstall because a “file was corrupted.” 30) Would I ever quit League? I dont think I’ll fully ever quit (I dont want to) but I’ve been taking more breaks from it and it’s been pretty relaxing and easier on my anxiety. I’ve had a dispute with someone in the group I usually play with so I don’t really mind playing wow or something else while they’re there. (We also have a bunch of people in the discord that we’re in and a lot of people play league, so I also dont mind giving up my spot so someone else can play.) Take the League 30 questions quiz!!!~ ♥
