PKMN ScarVio DLC AU ~ Possessed!Kieran

Just finished the page for my contribution to the good ol’ Toxic Chain theory :OOO

I recently finished the Teal Mask and finishing up the Indigo Disk DLC and while i really did like the fact that Kieran’s actions were all his own and makes him a much more realistic/relatable character, I am feeling a little robbed we didn't get a possessed!kieran + i really did not like the direction they took w/ Mochi Mayhem. I felt like it was WAAAY too silly/comedic for my tastes (if you liked it more power to you tho!), and wish we had more lore/backstory and involvement of Pecharunt and the Loyal 3 respectivally.

so i wanted to try killing two birds with one stone and try to mash ID and MM together somewhat! So heres some sketches and concept stuff ft. My PKMN!Violet sona. And also make this AU ANGSTY AS FUCK-

im not a comedy/crack/silly person when it comes to stories involving manipulation/mind control type of stuff because i just get second hand embarressment for those under doing wierd stuff while not aware so if your looking for a “silly haha!” AU with this type of concept ive got bad news for ya… this AU aint gonna be for you-

Starting off… my design for when Kieran is fully possessed by Pecharunt!

I still really liked the fact that Kieran was like. FULLY aware and in his own mind/body during ID; so i want to keep that in this AU too - for the most part.

id like to think that once making a deal with Pecharunt and offering himself to it in order to become stronger, the little peach would slowly feed him mochi that would “numb the pain and guilt if he ever feels doubtful.” At the time of Pecharunt’s debut to the start of ID, pecharunt is extremely weak and thus, its influence isnt as effective or strong. However, when we meet Kieran again, he’s definately beginning to change. throughout the story, we see Kieran’s spiraling descent into madness as he becomes more intimidating and cynical.

i dont have a specific spot where hed have this outfit change, but ill figure it out lol.

However, i def think it would be a bit after his panic attack/mental break down when we defeat him. Since at this point he couldnt uphold his end of the deal with Pecharunt, it has no choice: he offered his body and mind to it to get stronger, but he couldnt keep it up. So now, he has to pay the price.

(This would be right after the Ex-Champ bit - fuck you Draydon)

however, instead of telling himself to get stronger like in canon… he mumbles something indescernable and unintelligable… and then he starts… laughing?

“K-Kieran…?”

“Uh… yo, earth to ex-champion… you doin’ alright-?”

Suddenly… he glares at us… no. He glares at you, tears streaming down his face but an animalistic and crazily wide smile is plastered on his face as he stumbles back up, hugging himself while letting out what one would think is the most maniacal, despairing, crazy cackling laughter one could hear.

That's when you see it - his eyes, formally a light yellow, now a bright yet darkly sinister shade of violet-magenta. The scrunchie he was wearing began growing two strings of toxic chains that waved around like tentacles, and lifted him up in the air like stilts, purple smoke filling the area.

what was happening… whats happened to Kieran.

The bottom sketch is a small scenario i had in mind!

i want pecharunt to have a larger role so here they are! After returning the teal mask to me and carmine and running off, he stumbles upon an injured and weak Pecharunt, and secretly nurses it back to health. Behind everyone’s backs the two spark a friendship/partnership!

i like to think pecharunt has good intentions and did genuinely want to help kieran get stronger, but i like to think that the toxins it gave to Kieran not only began to mess with Kieran’s mind, but with Pecharunt’s too.

how exactly? No idea just yet lol- ill figure that out later on down the line lol. Along with the loyal 3’s roles in the story as well.

QUICK DISCLAIMER! IM NOT SHIPPING MYSELF W/ KIERAN SINCE HES IMPLIED TO BE A TEEN AND IM A LEGAL ADULT!! the DLC came out when i was 17; almost 18 (released a few days before my bday actually!)

i like to think that when this story and AU respectively take place, Kieran is 14 while im 16 turning 17 that fall in Teal Mask (Carmine being 18 or 19?), then in Indigo Disc Kieran is 16, im 18, and Carmine is 19/20. So me and kieran are 2 years apart, while me and Carmine are 1-2 years apart.

Its mostly because id like to think me and kieran’s dynamic is similar to a close friend i have irl and wanted to write it as such while retaining the canon story too. If that makes sense lol.

It was a surprisingly quiet Saturday morning. Today your shop was closed, but your staff was still working tirelessly to finish the influx of custom orders. This was no uncommon flux however, it was that time of the year. La Mesa Alta’s annual ball was right around the corner, and people were coming to you so that they could scrounge together some outfits. You’ve been on your feet for a while, cutting at different types of fabric, sewing, perfecting, and repeating. This would be a vicious cycle, but you loved creating too much to be burdened by the workload and demand requested of you and your staff. If anything, that demand made you work harder.

A busy 4 hours later, you finally get the chance to sit down. It’s been a day already, and it's only noon. You were a little concerned that Mercedes didnt get back to you at 10, but you knew she would call you back at some point in the day. You open your laptop, and see a notification at the top from a name you didn't expect.

‘I know you’re fucking lying’

“Umm Gio! Mads! Here… and quickly!” They hurry quickly to your side and look at your computer. “What is i- what the fuck is that?” Gio says, pointing at the notification in the top right corner. Madison folds her arms across her chest and sits in her hip, rolling her eyes “I know that’s not who I think it is.” You hear Gio sigh and add on, “This bitch.”

“Calm down with the ad libs alright? Who is this girl anyway? I didn't know anything about her until she came into my shop.” You felt like you were missing out on some important information. Everyone knew about this girl except for you, and you know everyone. Usually. “Oh, I forgot, you weren't out here when she was acting a damn fool.” ‘Excuse me?’

“When was this?” You sit back in the swivel chair, looking at Gio. “While you had your appointment with Roman. She was looking through the clothes saying that her friend JT could make one design better than your entire rack.” ‘THE FUCK?!’

You didn’t stand for disrespect. Both of them knew that. So they knew that this wasn't gonna slide by you. “Lemme see what this email is about,” you say, typing in your password and opening up your Gmail. You were in no way excited nor looking forward to anything that this email was going to say.

“What the hell are you doing?” Madison looks at you with wide eyes. “Calm down, I don't plan to employ her, I just want to see if she’s any good. I already have another person who wants to work here that has a good resume.”

Your phone buzzes loud against the counter and an unknown number displays at the top. You pick up the phone to hear a voice you had been waiting to hear all morning.

“Hello?”

“Hey, it's Mercedes. I’m calling from my personal phone.” Fucking finally. “What happened to 10am?” She chuckled to herself and replied, “Got busy. Do you want the information or not?” “I paid good money, didn't I?” She sighs and says, “Fair.” I settled into the chair and put the phone on speaker. You told Madison to tell the other employees to take their lunch break while you three listened to Mercedes give a rundown on De’arra. She joins back with you and Gio and you tell Mercedes that you're ready.

“Alright. De’arra Washington, daughter of Kenan Johnson. He was one of the richest thiefs in the west coast. Specifically in California and Oregon. He stole everything from pencils to old paintings to jewelry. He was on the run for a while, so he fled to Florida and started his own family business and made that into a family mafia. Here in Florida, he met up with a prostitute and turned her into a housewife and had a baby girl while orchestrating robberies from the comfort of his home. De’arra is all kinds of spoiled. Barely got her high school diploma, and her father bribed the president of Howard University so she could study there. Got into a lot of trouble up there stealing shit.. Who would've guessed. And daddy was there to save her. After 2 years, she decided she didn’t want the college life and desired wealth, like her father and moved back to Florida. Speaking of Kenan, he's been eyeing Roman since he moved down here. That’s probably why De'arra is hanging onto him like a lost child. If I knew anything from my years in this business, I'd guess that they are the family trying to challenge Roman, or disassemble the Anoa’i family.”

“So you’re telling me that I'm dealing with a girl with a case of sticky fingers?” She laughs lightly and says, “Basically.”

“Is she emailing you?” Mercedes asks, her tone laced with confusion, understandable though. “Yeah, I'm gonna see what she can do or if she can help me out here at the shop.”

“I've seen her resume before, it's forged. She’s only worked at minimum wage jobs. So anything that has to do with corporate jobs and fashion design is fake as fuck.” ‘What the hell is going on here?!’

“You still gonna give her a chance?” Gio says, reading the fake resume. “She’s not getting a chance, but I'm still gonna let her do a training session today so I can see what she is about.”

2:30 pm

You emailed her back and told her to come here at 2:30 pm to do a training session, which would technically be more like orientation. Both Gio and Madison knew that this could go sideways quickly if she tries something, but they also knew that you weren’t dumb. You knew how to handle yourself in bad situations. And you didn’t let anyone push you around. A red corvette sped across the huge display windows and disappeared into the parking lot on the side of the building. You took a deep breath to prepare yourself for the foolery you were going to face today. You fixed up your desk space and closed the file filled with De’arra’s personal information.

You heard the door open and saw two people walking in. “Ms. Semele?” You give her a polite smile and depart from your desk to shake her hand. There she was, wearing a pink crop top stopping right below her breasts and dark ripped jeans with pink butterfly strappy heels. She was hand in hand with someone you didn't know you would see today.

“Hey Ms. Expert.”

That made you genuinely smile. “Didn’t think I'd see you here again. Helping out the missus?” He smiles at you and slowly licks his lips, eyes drifting up and down your body. His eyes found yours and he focused all of his attention on you. “Yeah, I said I was gonna take care of her, and imma do just that.” De’arra gushes and latches onto his arm, but he doesn't budge; he keeps his eyes on you, smirking at you, adding the cherry on top. ‘Was he saying that to me?’ You briefly remember the last time you two spoke in person, and it seems like he was going to make good on his words.

“Oh good, you're here, you can put your stuff in the faculty room. That ok Y/N?” Gio says walking in from the factory downstairs. “Yeah that’s fine. I need to talk with Roman anyways,” You reply, and Gio gives you a simple head nod. “What do you need to talk to him for?” You look at De’arra and she is already sizing you up. You laughed to yourself. There’s no way she’s really trying to pull these strings right now. “About La Mesa Alta’s annual ball.” You kept it short and sweet. Of course, that's not what you guys were actually going to talk about, but you needed to get her off your back. “Well my family is going to be added to La Mesa Alta too, so I should be a part of this conversation,” De’arra demands. “The only thing you should be a part of is your training session. Give me a second i'll be right there,” You fired back, shutting down her request. He trails behind you, but doesnt get far, due to De’arra’s small hand latching onto his wrist.

“You guys can just talk out here-”

“Hell no.” You were getting sick of this back and forth already. “Well why the hell not?”

“Because it’s a private conversation about mafia business.” You could feel that she was already catching an attitude. “Well what type of mafia business involves you being in a room with him alone?” ‘This bitch..’ You turned around for the final time, and your face couldn’t hide the fact that you were fed the hell up. “The type of mafia business that doesn't involve you. Come on Roman.” He follows you into the room and closes the door.

You wipe your hands across your face and catch him looking at you with a sly smirk. “Don’t look at me like that.” He walks closer to you and takes his hand in yours and holds it above your head, twirling you to face away from him. He wraps his arms around your waist from behind. You close your eyes and melt into his touch. You forgot how much you liked his touch. “That was so sexy.” His breath gave you tingles as he talked into the crook of your neck. “You missed me baby?” While he was luring you with his voice, his hands sneakily dipped into the waistband of your sweats. You turned your head to look at him and gently grab his chin. Your eyes shift from his eyes to his lips, and you lean in to kiss him, but his fingers teasing your folds stop you. “I didn't hear an answer.” He was already making you melt, and you were loving every single second of it. “Y-yes baby I missed you.” He was teasing you, getting close to your lips and then pulling away while rubbing at your sensitive clit. You couldn't stand it. You pull his chin closer to you, trying your hardest to kiss him, but he keeps pulling away still.

Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call!! I actually discovered ordering the game from the UK with shipping was actually cheaper than ordering the American version of the game, there were no major differences that I could tell as they still had the original English voice actors.

I enjoyed this game!! Not my top favorite installment but I still had a great time and loved the new characters. The puzzles were well designed and had nice scaled difficulty and the mini games were really neat too. The Eternal Diva references were so blatant lmfao but I’m excited for Miracle Mask! I was also super exhausted when writing the summary so sorry there’s so many errors and I use the word fun a million times ToT

Summary

This was such a fun origin story for Luke and Layton. Very much a classic Layton game with world ending machinery and gorgeous environment design. I really liked both Emmy and Descole, there’s a more serious undertone than with Don Paolo as the main villain (even though I do love Don Paolo). Emmy is amazing!! I was afraid she would be sidelined like Flora was but I’m glad to she stands her ground and does what she wants to do. I alos like how we got to go on our own adventure as her to London, she’s a character that doesn’t need to rely on Hershel to solve everything. Meeting Luke was great, loved his blank stare. It was fun seeing his origins and how Clark and Hershel knew each other. I’m curious how the prequels will play into the New World of Steam, especially now that Luke’s family have stories and sprites (unlike in the original trilogy). Loved the ACAB story, v nice to play while I’m still so mad at what’s happening to university students currently. Descole was so fun, I am obsessed with his outfit and personality. Unfortunately I was spoiled on who he is but I’m very excited to learn more. I think similar to Ace Attorney, the fourth installment is that last game in the classic 2D style, which is sad but PLvsPW makes me very hopeful about 3D Layton. The overall story was fun, I really liked the sub plot about the Ravens - that was really fun (i was so tired writing this omfg). I wish we got a little more backstory on the rich guy who died, I feel like there’s more to the story. OO I loved the little episodes, especially the one about Chelmey. They added a lot of fun context and gave more life to the NPCs. Such a fun and classic Layton game, I can’t wait to play Miracle Mask! (And read the light novels). This wasn’t my favorite Layton game but I still really loved it and had a great time and loved the puzzles — that’s all I want from PL!

Ok tumblr deleted my giant ramble about Spotify tracks so take two 🙄

If you didn’t like phantom hourglass I implore you to try spirit tracks because it fixes all the issues I have with phantom hourglass. The music is PHENOMENAL, the world is so diverse and vibrant, the different towns are fun and the side quests helps you connect with them more, and overall it’s filled with charm. Zelda and Link easily have the best Zelda and Link relationship and they bounce off of each other super well! This Zelda to me is so complex and interesting and I adore her so much! The story is good, Anjean is wonderful, Byrne is fascinating, and everything is so wonderful. I love this game so much, I almost played through all of it in four days! I injured myself doing that! That’s how good it is!

Now it does have flaws, some parts of this game are so hard that it actually makes me mad lol. The sand temple and the item you get are AWFUL, and I’ve been stuck on the final boss for a year now 😔 I haven’t finished it so I can’t talk about the ending unfortunately, but yeah…. I also kinda wish the descendants could a little bit more love. Like Alfonzo looking a bit different than Gonzo besides the outfit, Zelda having a different design, Linebeck III being more than Linebeck with a hat. Like Joynas gets this treatment perfectly why can’t everyone else get that 😞 I also kinda wish Linebeck III was more than a cameo cuz Linebeck was so important to Phantom hourglass, but that’s just cuz I’m insane for Linebeck. And lastly, Byrne is wasted potential to me :( I wish we got to see him develop more cuz I feel like he didn’t get the amount he needed you know? It’s a shame cuz he’s super cool!

But yeah, haven’t finished it yet but I’ve played most of it where I feel like I can talk about it lol.

NPMD WAS SO FUCKING GOOD AND NOW I'M GONNA TALK ABT IT IN A REALLY DISORGANIZED FASHION

ruth and richie were hilarious characters, and i am GLAD they didn't turn out to be smokescreens for different pre-established characters (...technically? not main characters anyway, but goddamn i was not expecting the paulkins cameo). poor richie, that whole scene with him being like "i'm not a loser anymore, i'm one of the guys! i love life! :)" when we know that he's about to murdered was such a hilarious gut punch, and ruth was just,,, god, diversity win, this sweaty disaster of a teenage girl who gets wedgied to death is canonically bisexual. what a legend.

will branner is INCREDIBLE, holy shit. he steals the show as max in every scene he's in. max may be my favorite villain in the hf stage trilogy, he's as hilarious as he is menacing. he's like. i dunno, jock beetlejuice? something like that. also new ship just dropped, will and jon's unnamed student characters during best of you.

speaking of best of you, god the MUSIC was so great. don't know if it quite beats out black friday for me yet, but it's damn good. literal monster wasn't my favorite like i was expecting, i'll have to give it another listen to pin that down. but still, what a score, not one skip happening once this cast album hits spotify.

pete and steph were once again Cute As Hell, it was really neat seeing their relationship play out over the course of a full show. their "i don't love you but maybe i actually do" song in beanies (forgot what it was called lol whoops) was a banger, and seeing them walk out in their cute lil homecoming outfits in the end put the dumbest smile on my face. also, that reprise of cool as i think i am in act 2 nearly made me cry, joey as pete was a phenomenal choice.

grace,,, holy shit, i love what they did with grace in this show. hearing her call god a son of a bitch before stealing the gun from one of the officers and turning back on them threw me into another goddamn dimension. dirty girl and bully the bully were hilarious songs (feel like i'm overusing that word, but how else can i describe it?), and holy shit, her having sex with max's ghost to vanquish him and then proceeding to go mad with power?? my jaw was dropped, that was incredible. i never could've predicted that in a million years and i've never been more delighted.

me like one month ago: yeah i don't think we're gonna see the lords in black in npmd since this is supposed to be a more standalone hf show than black friday :/. literally all five of the lords in black: we're about to end this dumbasses whole career. that was WILD. their song wasn't my favorite in the show (if only bc it was kinda hard to hear with the digital ticket audio), but i am ecstatic to have canon human designs for all five of them now.

god, i feel like there's more i wanna say, but there's just so much to talk about. all i can say is that after three years of delays, i'm so so happy that we're finally getting to see npmd. dunno how it stacks up against tgwdlm and black friday for me yet, but i'm just overjoyed. can't wait for the youtube version and the cast album, they're gonna be great.

I don't know if this has been asked or if you've talked about it, - and I do apologize for any clumsiness in how I sound - but do you think Ada would have any complicated feelings regarding how she's been objectified, sexually or otherwise, in-universe, whether it's by someone like Simmons, people she's worked for etc?

i'm gonna ramble a bit here so sorry in advance lol-

i think that the trauma she experienced from simmons is one that's glossed over a lot. especially the people who are like AdA doEsNt hAve AnY tRaUmA

people are SO FUCKING QUICK to baby leon, but if it's a woman- oh NOOO she doesn't deserve the same thing

one of my major gripes with a lot of people who "aren't happy with ada's redesign" (characterization, voice, style) etc. (ALSO YOU CAN GO PLAY THE OLD GAMES BTW THEY STILL EXIST. ) bother me a lot

it's 2023. can we not have ada be an actual woman character with likes/desires/dislikes/flaws/and a personality that isn't just "sexy asian spy lady" like have we regressed so much that when capcom literally designed ada to be almost completely covered from her neck down was a way to have her be less sexualized? (btw for the people mad about that, she still has her alt outfit!!! so stfu!!!)

also she was still sexy af??? she doesn't need to be literally naked for her to be sexy. (also there needs to be more talk about consent imo cause i really feel like the way people talk about ada makes me think they do not understand consent)

ada's always used her sex appeal in varying degrees in the games/movies. but it was always to her advantage (almost in a way so that she wasn't objectified unless she wanted it that way)

in regards to her damnation outfit and her re6 outfit, which i argue are still sexy but not as revealing as her re4 outfit. i think that was also capcom in a way to modernize her outfits but still have it be her. like okay i know people love her og re4 outfit, but it makes NO SENSE. and because of it, it's one of my least favourite outfits because of how impractical it is. i don't mind her re4r alt outfit though, it's still fuckin hot but yeah (i still think the og re4 dress is really cunty tho skfbsfjs it's good, it's just not my favourite, og re2 is also one of my least faves, the flats and the dress + leggings combo)

also yeah to go back to her trauma, i really wish we saw what she felt at the end of re2r, especially if she thought she was going to die. like- how traumatic is that. the way she also fell, but took the time to comfort leon before dropping. SHE DIDN'T CARE THAT SHE WAS GONNA FALL, SHE COMFORTED LEON FIRST

we still don't know if she knew that she was going to be fine or not. if she fell into water (which i hc more cause she's not seen with a hookshot prior so i don't really hc that she had it the whole time.)

i see that as a common hc that she had one that wesker gave her so that she could get out and survive the fall, but i just legit think she fucking fell. landed into water or something that made it so she was okay. and then figured out how to get out later. (with the help of wesker)

but yeah i do not hc the hook shoot reason.

also it's clear to me that simmons was fucking obsessed with her and she had to literally break ties with him because he was fucking insane, she knew he was a lost cause. i don't think she'd even entertain him at all, to work with him, so it seemed as she cut ties as soon as she could. i do think that he harassed her a lot, but it's also probably traumatic when she discovers that simmons killed hundreds of women to try and clone ada.

Ppl r inevitably gonna get mad at me for this and im sorry but the reason I largely dislike fictional character genderbends especially male into female ones is that it really just shows you what people think “woman” means in context as opposite to “man” and it’s nearly always super weird binary gender presentation bullshit where the “female” version of the character is now Traditionally Feminine and So Pretty And Hot even if the original male or masc character was gnc or not traditionally attractive in some way in the first place lol. And like ok it’s fine let people do what they want but the amount of stuff I see like this that makes my head hurt and how hard it is to find depictions that Aren’t like this just got to me and im tired. The 13th Dr Who regenerated into being with mascara on you guys. that was crazy right haha

This kind of thing is always going to have different nuances for trans ppl making stuff like this and actually putting awareness and projection into it lol and it’s not about that nor is it about individual people making designs they just personally like it’s about How Much in fandoms a character being made a Woman just means “oh she has flawless makeup and a Lady Magazine Cover outfit and perfect boobs now :)))” so please don’t yell at me on my personal post lol

yesterday i finally watched the new tmnt movie!! at first i wanted to do a live reaction kinda thing, except that wouldn’t work because i'd have to reblog every entry and hiding every single part under a "read more" would be not only tedious, but i'm not even sure if it's possible lol

so instead have a collection of my thoughts here! (spoiler warning, duh)

first of all: the art style. there’s something strangely nostalgic about it. it feels like that is what my mental storyboards as a kid would have looked like, had i been into animating back then. or at least that would have been close to the style i would have liked to emulate.

the explosions looking like violent scribbles is just so 😩🤌♥ chef's kiss, truly. there's something about the art in general that just moves in such a particular way and holds a certain weight and volume,, it feels like cardboard and clay and crayons and the piles upon piles of coloured pencils i used to have as a kid and how the wooden pencil drawer smelled. i'm such a fan of this style i’M obsessed o(-<

in the intro shots for the turtles, raph licking his sai blades is so extra and i love him for that lmao

for some reason i completely forgot they cast jackie chan as splinter and tbh idk how to feel about it? no hate towards him; i just don't think voice acting is his strong suit

meanwhile i'm looooving mikey's voice. also leo's beacuse, well first of all, i am a leo girlie (gender neutral) through and through so i would have loved all aspects of him no matter what. but his voice actor is gumball's i believe? and that's one of my comfort shows 🥺 i just love him sm

ok so, april: i really like how they met. i like her design, her voice and her whole vibe. the whole puking jokes were a little too much for me; personally im not a fan of fart or puke jokes because, well, i’m not a 12yo boy (looking at you seth rogen) but all in all i really liked this rendition of april. it sucks tho that the turtles got a snazzy outfit by the end, both for school and for prom, but april’s clothes always remained the same. would have loved to see what she wore to prom!

the gen z lingo and references: …i mean, i guess it makes sense? i just don’t know how well it will age xD the references to end game and all were fun but, again, will someone in 15 years understand what they meant? will someone in 15 years know what rizz is?

changing the topic, the way eyeballs are rendered??? hello?? they’re so expressive and shiny and i lowkey wanna lick them ok

the chris pine cutout actually made me choke on my food from both surprise and laughter jhdfkjashdf

oookay so. superfly and his gang. first of all when the gecko talked i went like hey is that ant-man? lmao i love all the designs and ice cube as the villain works?? im not mad?? lol now, his plan however... sigh, my guy. killing all humans aside, have you maybe thought that if you turn every single animal and insect into a mutant, the whole ecosystem would all but collapse? there will be no planet left to belittle the humans on (:

"he'll run out of cars eventually" / *looks at parking* / “oh, c’mon!” lmaoo 😂 this joke was excellent

so, back to the forced romance thing. look i get it, they needed a reason to help out april to get the plot going. and if leo said it, then the rest would follow. i get that. but throughout the whole movie, aside from like his brothers elbowing his side knowingly, there’s no more allusion to anything? and then only at the veeeery end, he asks her out and she says yes, so i was like “oh okay so that’s the payoff then. took long enough” but then when they’re dancing she rhetorically asks if they’re just doing this as friends and 😐 maybe this is just my aroace self projecting but,, if you’re gonna use romance/romantic interest as a catalyst (lame tbh), at least be consequent about it?? if you (the writers) didn’t have the intention to explore the relationship, then leave it altogether? again, this is just my aroace opinion,, i can’t relate so i don’t understand. (which i know seems contradictory given my uh, repertoire of fics lmao) personally i would have preferred a different reason for them to helping out april, and having them all just be besties by the end, which they ended up being anyway

so, to sum it all up. it’s a story we’ve seen a hundred times, so there was really nothing new to it. the plot was okay,, the biggest thing that “bothered” me was superfly’s whole extermination thing making no sense, technically. but other than that, my eyes and ears were having an absolute feast. a very enjoyable film all in all. when we got rottmnt, i was like “oh finally an iteration of the teenage mutant ninja turtles where they’re actually teenagers” but scratch that. mutant mayhem is the most teenager one, and i loved them for that. time will tell how the jokes will age but yeah, the way they were depicted was definitely my favourite thing about the film aside from the art style.

i will start with the positives. the set design and styling/outfits were top notch! ken was very funny sometimes!

it's.. a slog to get through honestly. i thought that i was being a hater about how much i wanted it to be over but i was watching it with my best friend, and SHE was the one who asked how much time was left with it 😭 we both were mad only an hour had passed (felt like two), AND there was an entire 48 mins left.

the feminism in it is so.. surface level. like i dont expect anything big from a Brand (because real feminism aint gon tell you to buy mattel products at the end of the day LOL), but it is so 2013 it hurts. again, maybe if this movie dropped an entire decade ago it'd be groundbreaking, but in 2023? i have heard 16 yr olds on tiktok be more eloquent than this. the film tries to say SO many things and ultimately says nothing at all.

they also tried to like, satirize "overly woke" people and had a character call barbie a fascist and i just was so tired. i was already tired but that line just made me tireder.

a movie making conservatives mad doesn't always translate into a good movie. it's a film for millennials to make gifs about to use in twitter arguments. an ad to buy more barbie products. a well made mid mess.

tldr: SAVE YOUR MONEY & WATCH 'BARBIE: LIFE IN THE DREAMHOUSE' FR. ITS FUNNIER.

THE COSTUMES OMGSSHHHH!! They look amazing!!

Okay so it seems like the rewriting really did affect everyone, but it didn’t stop people from feeling that things were “off” (i.e. Touya, Akiho, Tomoyo even). I think that says a lot about how memories are just a very tricky thing, and in the end, some part of you will “remember” or “recall” even if you personally don’t have that memory (huhuuu so much TRC trauma thoughts)... like with Akiho knowing that there’s someone that she missing in her life, or Tomoyo remembering making that outfit somewhere before... because these things relate to that strong bond they have with another person (Akiho with Kaito, Tomoyo whenever she puts in her all with making costumes for Sakura). With Touya’s case, he’s just that very kind and protective person who puts his family and close ones above all, and I love that he also includes Akiho in all that even though she’s not his actual sister (hi again Kinomoto family, please adopt her).

It seems like Sakura and Syaoran will be the only two trying to find Kaito (or clues to lead to him) so far. I guess it would make sense given that because of the rewriting, they’re really going in kinda blind--they have no idea what kind of troubles or dangers may show up. I hope that we do get to the point where Akiho can come in and do the thing that only she can do, which is bringing Kaito back. Like sure, Sakura and Syaoran have the magic power to do all the other heavy lifting, but only Akiho will truly reach Kaito and make him actually desire to return.

Looking forward to the next chapter!! We’re really heading towards the end here!

Now given his sleeping patterns, it is a little hard for the both of you to meet up for any kind of outings, these would mostly be happening later in the evening and into the night given his aversion to sunlight, but he manages to work his schedule just right between his unit work and when he sleeps. He will always make time for you.

Another cat lover! Perhaps the both of you would like to go to a cat cafe for one of your dates? It would be something that he would find both enjoyable and relaxing, especially if you get to be there with him.

His schedule is quite busy sometimes given the work he has with his unit, Knights, but if you would like, you could always join him when they have practices and lives. Honestly, the thought of you being in the crowd and cheering him on makes this young vampire smile.

Speaking of his unit, the others absolutely adore you and they protect their own, and given that they now see you as one of their own, they will protect you just as you protect Ritsu. It is what a Knight does, after all.

Ritsu is big on giving you those words of affirmation. He may not be too much of a talker, and he really isn't that down on himself, but he would never want you to be down on yourself. He wants you to know that he is committed to this relationship no matter what it takes.

I had a cute thought after my mom Washed the jean jacket I wore as a baby . I hope it makes your day/night better.

So you bring home some baby clothes and Marc is fronting (which he's been nervous the whole pregnancy so he hasn't been out much.) And after some convincing you show him the tiny clothes and make him feel where the baby is kicking and he starts absolutely balling because that's your guy's little baby in there. And your just looking at him like I think I'm the one that's supposed to be crying right now? Lol 😂 I think it would be a cute moment. Just the idea of the boys bringing home baby clothes after that moment (they definitely make it a game trying to one up each other) would be funny to me. Also here are some hc I have bellow.

• Marc would be the type to buy the crib and the stroller ect and, be like babe I read online this is best one and it's the safest. Also he definitely brings home a baby cubs jersey it doesn't matter what gender the baby is there getting one. Marc has conversations with your baby too. "you need to take it easy on your mom I know you want out soon but, you can't kick your mom every 5 seconds buddy." It usually ends with a love you and quick peck to your stomach. He also is the don't baby talk the baby there smarter then you think.

•Steven definitely reads to your belly every night that he fronts. he's always got his hands on your belly when he's sleeping too. Also plushies from the museum would populate the nursery (Steven will try and convince you to make it Egypt themed.)

•Jake would get those pregnancy earbud things and play music for the baby. I also think he would run and get the pregnancy cravings for you so you and the baby don't tire yourselves out. He definitely sings to your belly too while dancing with you in the kitchen.

Also I wouldn't be mad if you did some moon knight dad stuff *Wink wink nudge nudge*

Okay so nobody will care about this but me, but I'm gonna ramble about what I would do if I was in charge of coordinating another Resident Evil chapter for Dead by Daylight, if I could do whatever I wanted with it

New Map: Spencer Mansion Iconic, and not visually like anything else already in DBD. I love RPD as a map and location in general, but I was one of those people who really wanted Spencer Mansion to be the map when RE got added to DBD, so yeah. It'd obviously be a two-floor map, and I'm sure people would unfairly whine about it being confusing just like they did RPD, but to be fair, Spencer Mansion doesn't exist in HD for them to just straight up reuse like RPD was, so surely it'd be scaled a little more appropriately for a game like Dead by Daylight... maybe

New Killer: Alexia Ashford Power: uhhh idk honestly lmao, but something involving insects since that's one of the defining aspects of her and her boss fight. Maybe involve fire somehow too since she also used that. I'll be honest, I don't have a solid gameplay idea here, but Alexia would be my top Killer pick since another female killer is cool to add, her design is cool, and nobody else uses bugs in the Killer roster.

New Survivors: Billy Coen and Steve Burnside Yes, I know, nobody gives a shit about Steve but me lol. But a) this is my fantasy post and b) it'd be weird to have a Code: Veronica Killer but no accompanying Survivor from that game and Claire was already added as a legendary skin (which I'm kinda mad about still because it means I'll never have OG RE2 or Code: Veronica cosmetics for her, grrr). Honestly, I'd give him at least one meme-y type of perk for people to be goofy with because good lord does Steve do some dumb shit in CV (/affectionate), and some kind of perk related to the spoiler thing that happens to him later in the game (if you know, you know).

Billy is there also because he's one of my faves, he rounds out the other previous RE Survivors in DBD having their partner characters (Rebecca doesn't have anyone unless you count Chris, I... guess?), and he's pretty much the only other major "old-style" RE protagonist left not in the game already, and I like to focus on those games more than the later stuff. He could also have some perks related to things memorable from RE0, like the goofy item dropping mechanic; maybe a perk that relates to that or chests somehow. And a teamwork perk (like the Thalita/Renato ones) to tie into the way you played as Billy and Rebecca together.

New Survivor Legendary Skins: Ashley Graham and Luis Serra Navarro Ashley would be a legendary skin for Rebecca, and Luis for Leon. They would obviously be their superior RE4 remake versions. Honestly, I could easily make a case for a whole RE4-centric chapter too (and that would be way more marketable lol), but if not that, then I'd love to see these two as legendaries.

New Killer Legendary Skins: Alfred Ashford and Mr. X Alfred would be a legendary skin for Alexia, and Mr. X for Nemesis. The fact that Mr. X isn't in DBD as a skin yet is nuts to me. Yeah yeah, he doesn't use the tentacle like Nemesis, but nobody really cares so long as they are playing as Mr. X. Meanwhile, Alfred doesn't really fit power-wise for an Alexia skin either, but I just think he's neat :)

New Cosmetics: RE4 Remake sweater dress for Ada RE4 Remake pinstripe suit for Leon RE4 Remake "romantic" outfit for Ashley RE0 leather outfit for Rebecca RE0 suit (the yakuza-looking one) for Billy RE4 (original) look for Luis (for the weirdos who like his old design better lmao)

This would be a larger level change, but I'd also let players toggle Legendary skins to show up on the character select screen. Like, you could set Carlos to show up instead of Leon's portrait if you have him. And as an even bigger change, I'd change how Legendary skins work to let them have their own skins too, so then I could get a Code: Veronica outfit Claire and a Christmas sweater for Carlos :3

Ranking the doll lines I collect

I was rearranging some of my dolls last night and got to thinking about between all the lines I collect, how I rank them in order of favorites. so I decided to do that! As a disclaimer this is going to be 100% biased and completely based on my own preferences, so don't be mad if your favorite is my least (and I mean least in the relative sense, since I still like them and collect them actively)

Im not counting lines I only have 1 or 2 dolls from, so LPS Blythe and OMG Fierce won't be ranked, I'm also not going to count animal figures, so LPS and the LOL pets are out, they're just not dolls! along the same I'm also not going to count the lil' sisters, they're technically dolls sure but they're tiny and don't really have any fashion elements.

I'll also be spliting lines into separate collections based on how I view them personally, which may be quite arbitrary. for example monster high g1 and g3 will be counted separately. as well as LOL OMG and the Tweens, but I'm ranking bratz 2001 and 2010 the same.

Last note, the images I include aren't all full collections, just some highlights.

So before I get to ranking them these are the lines I'm considering:

Now onto the ranking!

Coming in at number 10 is Cave Club!

I will start out by saying these dolls have my absolute FAVORITE body mold, the thick legs are everything. I love their whole concept, but the poly hair, cheap fabric fashions, and color island accessories really lessen them to me. I didn't actually intent to collect these dolls, but I found the entire first line at goodwill for 8 bucks and decided to take a chance. Overall I'm very happy I did, they have a lot of potential I wish they'd lived up to. maybe some day I'll reroot them all and give them bespoke outfits, maybe.

Number 9 is Monster High g1!

This is what I think may be controversial, but since getting into g3 and comparing them to other dolls of the same style I have, there's a lot they lack for me. I love the array of characters, the unique theme-ing, and I have a lot of appreciation for what they did for the fashion doll industry overall, but they do have a lot of classic mattel issues. For one their bodies are soooo fragile and if you have one of the coveted GoLd ElAsTiC bodies good luck getting it to hold a pose ever, at all. the later releases did fix that but even then the fashions have always been pretty cheaply made and the glue seepage issue... speaks for itself. They do have a special place in my heart, but I would burn them all in a heartbeat to save some other entries on this list...

Number 8 is LOL Surprise!

These dolls are fully plastic, 90% of the time are Surprise packaged (who would have guessed????) and their articulation is bad, yes I know they're tiny, I don't expect knees elbows wrists from them, but they literally, cannot, sit. Those are my only complaints! I love their adorable little styles, they're just so darling to me! their little color change and water features I think also help make up for some of their faults as well, not because I use them at all, but I really appreciate the thought that went into the designs and the secret designs that appear with color change. it adds a lot to the play value. and part of what I appreciate about doll lines is how much they consider the play value to their main demographic, kids. (looking at you, Barbara color reveal)

Number 7 is Pinkie Cooper!

Oh Pinkie, you flew too close to the sun, the world just wasn't ready for you. They're so darling, the body blushing is such a lovely touch, but their fashions just never really landed for me, they were quite floofy. They would make an amazing come back, I think the world is ready now, bring me the dog dolls.

Number 6 is our queen Rainbow High!

Whaaaat??? I'm also surprised to see them so far down the list, but despite their amazing articulation, attention to details, fashions, and GORGEOUS INSET EYES, I think im just a bit tired of the monochrome look, purple hair... purple dress.... ground breaking.

Number 5, middle of the list! It's LOL Tweens.

At this point going forward the margin of favoritism between lines is VERY thin. i absolutely love the tweens, their styles are amazing, the quality is top tier. they're almost perfect, but they are quite a bit smaller than other dolls, so sharing their clothes is hard!

Number 4 is Monster High g3

The Monster High team took all the g1 issues into account when designing these, and came out with some fantastic dolls. Their bodies are more substantial than the g1s, the body diversity is better too, though I wish Draculaura was actually plus sized, since people decided to be mad about her anyways. Now I specifically said the Monster High team learned from g1, not Mattel, as they unfortunately suffer from some pretty bad mattel-isms. Several characters have poly hair and their fabric quality is still noticeably cheap, I also have opinions on g3 clawdeen, but I'll get into those later at some point, and no it's not about how she's "not a Fierce lesbian" anymore before anyone gets it twisted. (ok ill get into it now, it's gross they gave her poly hair and I think her design got focus grouped waaaaaayyyyy too much and she's not got much of a personality in her design anymore. shes very cute! I just wish they'd committed better.)

Oh also these are the dolls I'd burn g1 for, sorry but g3 does have my heart.

Number 3! LOL OMG

what can I say about these gorgeous ladies that hasn't been said? the fashions are top notch, they commit SO HARD to every theme, and they consistently make stunning, gorgeous, amazing women, no notes. Okay 1 note, miss direct was... a choice. if they had better knee articulation they'd probably be even higher, but their click knees are a bit of a joke.

NUMBER 2 electric boogaloo SHADOW HIGH!

Now these are everything Rainbow High is on its best day AND MORE, it's hard to put into words how much I love these ladies. the faces, fashions, EVERYTHING. They've has 0 flops, 0 misses, and they just keep getting better and better. in fact there was only one thing keeping them from number 1, and of course that thing is....

NOSTALGIA!

Meaning my number 1 is of course the BRATZ!!!

OOOOOH, BRATZ! listen nobody has ever done it like they do, they ran barbie over in the FM cruiser and walked so monster high could run (who then in turn was overtaken by shadow high, nature is beautiful) The fashions, faces, shit ton of characters, and my mom not letting me have them making them the forbidden desire I held for so long, makes them my number 1 doll line. If I could only collect one line it would be them. Sure their articulation is terrible, and none of their rebrand were particularly successful, but they are and will always be everything to me.
