Rose and Grapefruit Body Butter
Tumblr media
Usually, at this time of year, my kitchen smells of Holiday baking, spiced Biscuits in the oven, or Hot Chocolate or Glögg simmering on the stove. But occasionally, there is a scent of soap factory in the air as I make homemade gifts, from well, soaps to scented candles or natural cosmetics, like this luscious Rose and Grapefruit Body Butter!
Ingredients (make a jar, about 3/4 cup):
1/3 cup Dried Rose Petals
1/4 cup argan oil
2/3 cup shea butter
6 drops geranium (or rose) essential oil
6 drops grapefruit essential oil
1 ½ teaspoon Leucidal (natural preservative, made from radish root)
1/4 cup Dried Rose Petals
Place Dried Rose Petals in a medium bowl.
Heat argan oil in a bowl fitted over a small saucepan of simmering water, over a low flame. Once hot, pour argan oil over Dried Rose Petals. Cover the bowl with cling film, and allow to infuse, in a draught-free, dark place overnight, to a couple of days.
Once infused, strain Rose argan oil into a small bowl, pressing the Petals to get all the oil. Set aside.
Melt shea butter in a bowl fitted over a small saucepan of simmering water, over a low flame, until completely liquid and translucent. Stir in Rose argan oil.
Remove from the heat and let cool slightly before stirring in geranium and grapefruit essential oils. Add Leucidal, and give a good stir. Finally, stir in Dried Rose Petals.
Then, pour mixture into a sterelised jar, and close. You can place  the jar in the refrigerator for an hour until hardened, or allow it to solidify at room temperature.
If this Rose and Grapefruit Body Butter is a gift, wrap or tie with a nice ribbon, and instructions to rub and massage onto body!

How to Make Natural Cosmetics at Home
Do you love using makeup but worry about the harmful chemicals and microplastics in commercial products? Do you want to save money and reduce waste by making your own cosmetics at home? If you answered yes, then this blog post is for you!
In this post, I will show you how to make natural cosmetics at home using simple and safe ingredients that you can find in your kitchen or local health store. You will learn how to make your own lip gloss, blush, bronzer, and more, using natural ingredients such as coconut oil, beeswax, cocoa powder, and beetroot. These homemade cosmetics are not only good for your skin, but also for the environment, as they are biodegradable and plastic-free.
Ready to get started? Let's begin with the lip gloss!
Homemade Lip Gloss
Tumblr media
Lip gloss is a great way to add some shine and color to your lips, but many store-bought lip glosses contain synthetic dyes, fragrances, and preservatives that can irritate your lips and harm your health. Instead, you can make your own lip gloss using natural oils, waxes, and pigments that will moisturize and nourish your lips.
To make your own lip gloss, you will need:
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon of beeswax pellets
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- A few drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
- A pinch of natural pigment, such as beetroot powder, cocoa powder, or mica powder (optional)
To make your lip gloss, follow these steps:
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the coconut oil and beeswax together, stirring occasionally.
- Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the honey and essential oil (if using).
- Add the pigment of your choice and mix well until you get the desired color and consistency.
- Pour the mixture into a small glass jar or tin and let it cool completely.
- Enjoy your homemade lip gloss!
Homemade Blush
Tumblr media
Blush is a great way to add some color and glow to your cheeks, but many store-bought blushes contain talc, parabens, and artificial colors that can clog your pores and cause skin problems. Instead, you can make your own blush using natural powders, clays, and flowers that will give you a healthy and natural flush.
To make your own blush, you will need:
- 2 tablespoons of arrowroot powder
- 1 teaspoon of beetroot powder
- 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
- A few drops of rose water or glycerin (optional)
To make your blush, follow these steps:
- In a small bowl, mix the arrowroot powder, beetroot powder, and cocoa powder together until you get the desired shade and intensity.
- If you want a creamier texture, add a few drops of rose water or glycerin and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a small glass jar or tin and press it firmly with a spoon or your fingers.
- Enjoy your homemade blush!
Homemade Bronzer
Bronzer is a great way to add some warmth and contour to your face, but many store-bought bronzers contain mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, and nanoparticles that can irritate your skin and disrupt your hormones. Instead, you can make your own bronzer using natural powders, spices, and oils that will give you a sun-kissed and radiant look.
To make your own bronzer, you will need:
- 2 tablespoons of arrowroot powder
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
- A few drops of almond oil or jojoba oil (optional)
To make your bronzer, follow these steps:
- In a small bowl, mix the arrowroot powder, cinnamon powder, and cocoa powder together until you get the desired shade and intensity.
- If you want a creamier texture, add a few drops of almond oil or jojoba oil and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a small glass jar or tin and press it firmly with a spoon or your fingers.
- Enjoy your homemade bronzer!
These are just some of the natural cosmetics that you can make at home using simple and safe ingredients. You can also experiment with different ingredients and colors to create your own unique and personalized products. By making your own cosmetics, you can not only save money and reduce waste, but also protect your health and the environment.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and learned something new. If you want to know more about how to make natural cosmetics at home, you can check out some of the resources that I have found for you. Thank you for reading and have a beautiful day!😘

How to get rid of strawberry legs
Tumblr media
Have you ever noticed small, dark spots on your legs that resemble the seeds on a strawberry? These tiny bumps are commonly referred to as "strawberry legs," and while they don't pose any serious health risks, they can be a cosmetic concern for many people. In this blog post, we'll discuss what causes strawberry legs, whether they're good or bad, and how to get rid of them. What is the Reason for Strawberry Legs? Strawberry legs are caused by clogged open pores or enlarged hair follicles that become clogged with oil, bacteria, dead skin cells, and other debris. The dark spots on your legs are caused by the visibility of hair follicles due to the buildup of oil and dead skin cells. Shaving, waxing, and other hair removal methods can aggravate the problem, resulting in more visible strawberry legs. Is Strawberry Legs Good or Bad? While strawberry legs are not harmful to your health, many people find them unsightly. Some people are embarrassed to show their legs in public, especially during the summer months when shorts and skirts are more common. Strawberry legs can also be a sign of poor hygiene, so it's critical to take precautions to prevent and treat them. How to Get Rid of Strawberry Legs Exfoliate: Regular exfoliation is key to getting rid of strawberry legs. Use a gentle scrub or exfoliating brush to remove dead skin cells and unclog your pores. Be careful not to over-exfoliate, as this can cause irritation and further damage to your skin. Moisturize: Keeping your skin moisturized is essential to prevent the buildup of dead skin cells and oil. Use a moisturizing lotion or oil after showering or bathing to help keep your skin soft and supple. Hair Removal Techniques: Opt for hair removal techniques that are gentle on your skin, such as waxing or using a depilatory cream. Avoid using razors or shaving too often, as this can lead to ingrown hairs and further irritation. Topical Treatments: There are several over-the-counter topical treatments that can help to reduce the appearance of strawberry legs. Look for products that contain salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or retinoids, which can help to exfoliate and unclog your pores. Professional Treatments: If home remedies and topical treatments don't work, you may want to consider professional treatments such as laser hair removal or chemical peels. These treatments can be expensive, so it's essential to speak with a dermatologist or healthcare professional to determine which treatment is best for you. Strawberry legs may be ugly, but they are not harmful to your health. Strawberry legs can be avoided and reduced by incorporating regular exfoliation, moisturizing, and gentle hair removal techniques into your routine. If home remedies and topical treatments do not work, see a dermatologist or other healthcare professional.   Tags: How to get rid of strawberry legs in one day, how to hide strawberry legs, strawberry legs treatment at home, how to get rid of strawberry legs with baking soda, what causes strawberry legs, strawberry legs products, how to hide strawberry legs, strawberry legs treatment Read the full article
