sadly this is not new info to me. there's a huge side of history tumblr that is just circle jerking to hitler/nazi factoids and "dark humor" that's just heavily antisemitic holocaust jokes. they have debates on whether or not the holocaust happened and who's the "real victim". it's all so disgusting. tumblr has some insanely vile people and it will never not piss me off that they banned porn but won't take care of the spam bots or the hitler fan acounts. this has to stop.

Anyways. Yeah. Hitler and Darkstalker have similarish 'backstories' and I NEVER seen this get talked about when people criticise Darkstalker and call him basically Dragon Hitler.

The backstory is father is X, and apparently abusive towards mother, ergo son declares everyone who is X to be bad and tries to kill them, killing those who stmd in his way and disagree with him either. For Darkstalker it's well Icewings but for Hitler is Jewish people. And both tried to make an all power military.

It kinda makes me uncomfortable how people try and woobify him and excuse his actions when he literally THE wof equivalent of Hitler. Yeah I like him as a villain but like, he was literally using mind control/brain washing to get every dragon to like him so they wouldn't try and protest against him, experimenting on dragons using his powers to make super soldiers and recreate his gf, and like other stuff. The tale of Christmas Hitler is a weird tale which I've considered sharing for ages. My boyfriend's family have an event where we make some kind of Christmas decoration every year, and because I'm dating my boyfriend I'm expected to show up. Anyways, the night before the first of such events I participated in, I had a dream about making a clay decoration depicting Hitlers suicide. I told my boyfriend because I thought it was a bit weird, and he responded with "well, why don't you?" And a couple drinks later, that's how the first Christmas Hitler was created, although from glossy paper instead of clay. Fast forward to next year where I show up to find everyone's staring expectedly at me. After a while an uncle says "where's our dead fascist? It wouldn't be a proper Christmas without him!" And that's the story of how I'm now making a depiction of Hitlers suicide once every year...

Genuinely, thank you to Shannon for not taking the "the Neverseen are Nazis but elves" route and equating real life genocide to her middle grade fantasy series. I see too many people doing the Holocaust comparison for literally anything they don't like, so I really respect Shannon for not doing that. Hitler is mentioned in Neverseen. She could have easily gone "Sophie felt like she was fighting against her own world's Nazis" or whatever, but no, she said "The Neverseen are bad but not as bad as Hitler." And I'm grateful she recognized that her fictional villains were in no way comparable to Holocaust. She could have played the Holocaust card for shock value, but she didn't.

However. this is not the kicker. It wasn't said with malicious intent, it was said in observation. And I can completely understand that it came off as insensitive and I do apologize, especially via text. And as said before I wasn't running away for a few days, I have a high demand job that requires my focus at the end of the month so I am not on and usually just run on queued things. I apologize that if seems as if I was running away, that isn't the case. I work in accounting, it's the end of the month, anybody that works in accounting knows how important end of the month is.

Again, you can have your opinion of me, that's fine. I own up to what I said as a stoned observation and I'm not going to hide from it regardless of what you think. I'm sorry that me addressing it wasn't on your timetable or you think that I was ignoring anything I got about it because I didn't until the anon accusing me of ignoring having gotten something about it.
