Anybody who is complaining about how gay "Dragon Age: Absolution" is has clearly never played the games. Even if you play the main characters as straight, there's absolutely no way to avoid LGBT content.

Just to name a few examples:

Oghren's wife left him and has a woman for a lover when you're tasked to track her down.

Leliana, a bisexual character, tells you that she loved her mentor, who is another woman.

Isabela's very open with her bisexuality, stating she's been with both men and women.

If you romance Zevran as a woman, he tells you about his sexual history, stating "My history is varied, and it's not limited strictly to women".

There's a rumor that Empress Celene had an elven lover, Briala, which turns out to be true.

Dorian's personal quest is about him being gay and refusing to "play the part and marry the girl, keeping anything unsavory hidden and locked away".

And that's all from the top of my head. If you have more to add, then please do so.

This was so great! I am hopeful for this show, but I need to rewatch to make sure that I heard what I heard and rehear everything about it. I have a good Orlesian character, and it’s Fairbanks and I love him. Also, this is so gay already, and I am LIVING for it.

Never Getting Back Together MEP - Part 5 - Miriam x Hira

I’ve been thinking about them.

So are we not going to talk about absolution’s toxic sapphic trope. Again. Where da sapphic’s always end up being fucking toxic? She wanted to sell Miriam back into slavery and thinks it’s nbd. Hira might not be white but wanting to sell the dark skinned brown woman back into slavery and said brown woman giving her a “we could give you another chance 🥺🥺” speech is disgusting. As a black lesbian who actually comes from slaves, I can’t pretend that this show is redeemable. I can’t pretend the lighter skinned brown woman wanting to sell the character she gets queerbaited with back into slavery, directly to her abuser, is somehow *good*. Miriam’s arc with Hira is so disrespectful to those of us who actually care the generational trauma of slavery. Like even if you remove the sapphic aspect, people lauding this show and Miriam’s arc really just shows other brown people do not care about black trauma with chattel slavery.

Same black lesbian anon from before, can you add a tw for Miriam/H*ra? Seeing a freed slave kissing the woman who was planning to sell her back into slavery and all these non black fans celebrating that literally makes me sick to my stomach that y’all think this is hashtag diversity win lmao

I 100% agree Hira is a villain for what she was planning on doing to Miriam, no matter how much she justified it by saying "it wouldn't be forever," "you would escape" and whatnot. In the end, she used Miriam, just like Rezaren wanted to use her.

Any shippable content between the two, for example the requested gifset I made, will be tagged as "hira x miriam" per my shipping tag format, so you can blacklist that. But you won't be seeing very much of that on my blog anyway.
