That's all that's left. Fifty-seven pages of research, two bottles of morphine and one ticket back to the Capital.
The train departs at dusk.
An illustration for a Patho AU inspired by Bulgakov I'll probably never write properly but it's been worming in my brain for over two years now.

What's Kane & Feels? What's it about? 👀 (Honestly, you had me intrigued at ''equinoxes and solstices'')
kane & feels is a "horror-noir" audio drama about two detectives (take a guess what their names are :P ) who investigate supernatural occurrences! at least. this is basically what the first season is about. it gets Weird in a way that i have trouble describing because i.... don't perfectly get what's happening? i can give you very broad plot summaries but there's clearly Other Occult Stuff going on that i don't know shit about. i think this is delightful and a selling point -- type of thing that rewards relistening, etc!
the first season is kind of a.... case of the week situation that becomes Everything Was Connected All Along, the second season is set in a seaside town and gets timey-wimey, and the third season (airing now) is the solstices and equinoxes one! currently two episodes out, one for spring and one for summer. they are trying to.. . follow the cycle of the year? by.... participating in pagan rituals? the easter bunny is there? look, they explain it better in the first episode of that season; i'm due for a relisten myself.
i'm sorry i am being so vague but. again. i don't perfectly get it. things i can say for sure: (1) it's good at leaning unapologetically into the noir vibes but is also really funny, and (2) the sound design is INCREDIBLE. the experience of listening even with no clue what's going on is worth it!

Me less than a week ago: huh, I noticed a good deal more fanart while poking around the King in Yellow/Hastur tag, apparently a podcast called Malevolent has something to do with him, might as well check it out because I HAVE been in the mood for some spooky/Lovecraftian stuff, surely this isn't going to be something that caters right to my desire to see the clash of humanity and the eldritch that leaves the eldritch changed, surely I won't spend the next few days speedrunning a devastating emotional rollercoaster of incredible volatility and even more incredible tenderness, surely this won't surpass even that original interesting concept to see the eldritch reach right back when humanity begins to waver in a story that blends fantastic horror elements with extra-dimensional symbiosis in a way that is challenging but hugely rewarding, which leaves both deeply flawed entities involved hurt, but better for having known each other, all of it with a beautiful soundtrack no less, surely I'm not going to cry multiple times over the next few days listening to this goddamn podcast, surely not,

A little over six months ago we started our All The Young Dudes book club.
Today we finished the book. It feels a little bittersweet.
We read 7ish chapters per week and we met every week except for maybe 3 or 4.
I'm so so so glad that that happened. God bless fandom communities, they are so special.

What's your opinion on ChatGPT?
I wish we could go back to a world where chatbots were a fun novelty not meant to be taken seriously, and ai-generated content was entertaining because of how much it did not not resemble something a human would make. I think it's depressing that people are using it to write papers and stories considering 1) it will just straight up lie, and 2) these AI programs are just algorithms regurgitating material out of what already exists, and therefore it will never be as creative as what a human being can make
