i need to stop staying up so late when i need to work the next day augggg
#the bin#i work at 11am at least so i do still have awhile till i need to get up#usually i work 4 hours earlier so im lucky i guess. not exactly tho bc i much prefer morning shifts but whatevs#i texted my sister today to ask if she can come this weekend but she didnt respond. hhh. im gonna be so mad if she says no#i just realized im abt to be out of cat food too so she HAS to comw at some point soon#it doenst even have to be the weekend. thats just the days she has off but if she can stop by anotehr time then thats fine#or if just her boyfriend can come drop stuff off and pickup her card then thats fine. but idk. i even offered to lend her gas money if my#next paycheck is enough to allow that. i shoudo get it tomorrow or the day afeyr so. well. hhhh.#i hope my paycheck isnt too bad. i think tips were pretty good recently so. maybe it wond be so bad. hhhh.#im tired of being stressed abt this stuff all the time. im really pissed at my sister rn too bc she just bought $40 worth of unnecessary#stuff. like. decor. while she still owes me $300 which i only lent bc it was for rent and i knew i wouldnt need it back for almost a month#but its been that time now and i need it back and instead of sensing it back she buys a $20 wall tapestry apparently#hhh. last yime i ever ever ever lend her money. im only gonna lend gas money bc i need her here soon. but she also needs to amde the trip#bc she has a card here to pickup. and theres several other reasons shes supposed to stop by. it shouldnt have to be my responsibility to#pay for that trip. hhhh.#im so glad i wont have to deal with her in a month

My heart fills with a sort if nostalgia, and my stomach fills with butterflies. It's very exhilarating! I can't help but imagine a sort of small drabble of like.. Simon realizing he's in love with you. Nah cuz I ain't no writer but uhmmmm I'm finna Write something and it's gonna be crusty but tbh idrc
Lmao this is turning out to be long even tho I'm writing it on a whim and pulling everything outta my ass-
You and Simon had a sort of tension ever since he got injured on duty about a year or so back.
Since you were the only Medic in the medbay at the time, you were the one to care for Ghosts wounds. Even though he was very cautious on the job, he managed to get himself a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He had lost quite a lot of blood, causing him to be in-and-out of consciousness.
As you swiftly work to get him a blood transfusion, you slip off his mask and pat the side of his face to try and wake him up. He groans with blurry vision and pain.
You attempt to keep him awake with questions, or making him talk.
"Sir, I need your name"
He coughs up a bit of blood, causing you to wince since it splattered a bit on your cheek.
"Ghost.."
"Alright Ghost, I need you to stay awake for me, yeah?"
"I can try, but no promises" he says with a cheeky grin, which quickly dissipates into a painful expression as you work.
"Alright big guy, I need you to turn on your side so I can see if there's an exit to the bullet"
You start pushing him to his side to assist him, and cut his shirt to find no exit of the bullet.
"Alright it's still in there, so I'm gonna need to dig a bit. I'm gonna give you something for pain" you say as you pull out a srynge of fluid, sticking him with it before he can react.
You get the necessary tools ready, and start digging carefully for the bullet. After pulling out a small silver clump of metal, you start sewing him up.
"Here's a souvenir for you"
You hand him the bullet. He chuckles a bit, but not too much.
(That's literally all I can think of as a backstory lmao ik it's lame hh)
Ever since that late night shift at the medbay, you and "Ghost", later on changed to "Simon", had become close. So close in fact, that it got to the point that even if he had a small cut or a very minor scrape, he would make a B-line to your section of the building.
You would always tease him for such things, giving him a sticker of his choice after every visit (And yes, you carry stickers around for him).
For some reason today, you hadn't seen him at all which was out of the ordinary. You found yourself waiting for him throughout the day, but he never showed up.
You mope away to your designated barracks, face saddened. After JUST getting comfortable in your bed, you hear a knock at your door.
You sigh, getting up frustrated to see who the hell it is. You swing the door open in grogginess to be met with Simon standing there with a sort of look on his face, and not a good one.
Lmao cliffhanger because it's 5am and the idea I had in my head was literally just an emotional Kissing scene in the rain when Simon has to go on a mission that he might not come back from, and you both realize you love eachother idk. (That's why I originally came here with the song lmao but I got distracted hhh sorry for wasting your time 😭) btw this was my first time attempting to write something so sorry that it's musty.

can you parallel park? - in theory yes. i have a driver's license so i should know how to parallel park lol but if you told me to do it rn? probably no
a job you had that would surprise people? - uuh i've only ever had odd summer jobs but i worked in parks for a couple of summers and then "worked" as the lights technician at a smaller theater a couple of years ago which i considered personally really random

can you drive a manual car? - yeah. in theory. learned to drive manual but i never really got the hang of it...

No way I interacted with the Donato's mask post and now I have to talk about him ooohhhhh noooooooo *swooning*
1. About Donato and food: I just love how Amon is a picky eater but he really loves Donato's food. I like to think about Donato practicing a recipe over and over until Amon can eat it and cheerfully exclaimed "This is good!". He's no doubt a cruel, merciless, brutal ghoul but everytime he tries a new recipe, he secretly gets nervous and waits for little Koutarou's reaction, like this scene of Haise and Mutsuki
I think Donato actually enjoys that Amon eats a lot of his food (and maybe that's one of the reason why Donato couldn't get mad at him when he ate everyone's donuts). He takes pride in making his little boy grow up big and healthy, so one of his biggest concern when he's in Cochlea is if Amon is still eating properly or not.
2. Donato's smell: What do you think about Donato's smell? I don't have any idea about this but I like imagining about Donato being extra careful to clean out the smell of blood on him so his children wouldn't smell "something funny". Maybe he used scented candles in his room hmmm

(I know all the kids got their bdays celebrated but hhhh you know?)
Imagine, post Anteiku-raid Donato, who knows his son is alive through whatever means Souta uses to keep him updated on stuff, but also knowing that he doesn't eat anything and Kanou has to force feed him. That he'll never be able to eat his beloved donuts either. I think about Donato coming up with ghoul recipes he can adapt to fit his boy's tastes if it ever comes to that, while knowing his son will never let him cook for him again.
2- I personally think orphanage Donato smells of incense. It fits with his activities as a priest + it's a pretty strong smell so I think it'd work well to cover the smell of blood. His hands smell of flour and cooking spices.
In Cochlea, he smells like whatever soap they let ghouls use, plus dust and sweat.
Once he gets out, he smells of the city fumes and either old wood or metallic (idk why but it makes sense okay). His hands smell of blood the most, tho it lingers on his whole body, as he no longer cares to scrub it off completely. His hands in particular, as he uses his clones sometimes and they're made of his fingers.

what another insane cliffhanger... my goodness, okay finished with the second book!!!! i just need to ramble a bit.
since i just finished it, i have thoughts on nino.. tbh i was quite fond of him initially but then he got increasingly unbearable haha the way he... says to lenu that since childhood he imagined a life where he, lenu, and lila would be together, and then.. uhm wow..! where the hell does he go! hahaha well maybe ill feel differently about him in the next book.
ngl tho, esp during that part with the elena/lila/nino drama, i was so stressed.. it just kept going!!! and kept feeling like so much!!!! wow. i had just kept thinking that theyd all best sit down and be honest with their feelings for each other and then form a poly relationship and run away together or something idk hahaha
okay i think one of my most favorite things about this book is how important every character feels. obviously we have lenu and lila, but like the rest of the cast?? they were not just some random childhood friends mentioned in the first book, they all are growing up too and are experiencing lives of their own. i think this book, more than in the first book, showed a lot of parent/child relationships, mm like how much we fear to become our parents.. to be inevitably trapped in the same fate as theirs. its in my mind a lot, about how much the things that happened to my own parents affect me. ahh elenas relationship with her mother.. despite how badly she wishes to not become like her mother, i think she does see her strength and her care for her... (oh god, like when she was sick and her mom comes out of nowhere?? and i think she was torn between feeling embarrassed by her and how capable her mother really was) oh and things like both antonio and ada becoming in different ways like their mother, stefano resembling don achille, lila fearing her son will be stupid, etc and ofc also just... the weight on all of their shoulders to.. hurry up and grow up? ahh. ///tw death tw suicide/// for the peluso siblings to witness their father be literally dragged out their house in front of them for allegedly murdering another man, hearing about his death in prison, busting the door down and seeing their mother hang herself. for the cappuccio siblings to only have their mother, who needed her children to care of her and her mental state more than she could take care of them. hhhh
that reminds me, the whole book i was hoping for more enzo content hahaha we really barely know anything about him at this point but i adore him. and he is there now! altho i wonder how much more we'll hear of him in the next books.
oh yeah, lila talking crazily about educating all the children to make a change starting with their generation... just like me for real... this is pretty much the main reason i studied early education hahaha its silly now when i think about it, but i used to feel like my skull was breaking from how much i felt i needed to find a way to take care and educate of all the children in the world in order to make some sort of difference... to find a way to get every single child to experience love and care from a loving and caring family... god. anyway i mean i still do believe that taking care of and educating the young ppl of our generation can change the world somehow, but it was just rather.. sad? seeing lila go crazy about her son and her very real fear for her son, that he might become like her and her family, unable to escape violence and poverty.
all this talk about a book centered on elena and not a single word about lenu yet ahhh my bad! oh i want to talk about her years at the university, and... gosh. just knowing you just lack something that your classmates from a rich family and background have that youll never have... even tho she quite literally graduated with top scores, she never felt fully capable? never felt enough? the need to work so hard to suppress herself in order to be okay in that city?? aghfh
alright, the ending! with her realizing that her novel (that she described as something that was truly hers to pietro) was basically born out of and deeply connected to lilas blue fairy book... god!!!!! what the hell!!!!! my goodness. she quite literally describes how theyre soulmates, how theyre connected by an invisible thread, how much they mustnt lose each other anymore. and when they finally met again and she finally realizes that "in the world there is nothing to win, that her life was full of varied and foolish adventures as much as mine, and that time simply slipped away without any meaning, and it was good just to see each other so often to hear the mad sound of the brain of one echo in the mad sound of the brain of the other." sobs. i think throughout most of the book, i so desperately wanted the two of them to just... be okay and stop being in constant war with themselves for each other.. but anyway wow, even tho for this second book the two of them arent with each other most of the time, the way their relationship is so hhhhh described so well and is always relevant, its so real wow its so real.
okay done... mm i was thinking that lenu is probably the more relatable character, but i think i identify a lot more with lila? not really bc of her life or the way acts, but the way she thinks maybe? the way she feels about ppl? idk actually, but its probably affecting the way im reading the series. mm starting tmr i wont have as much time as i do now to read, but im hoping i get through the next two books before the end of next month at least!

Gives nose/forehead kisses: hmmm equally. they are so in love ughhh. lots of forehead, cheek, nose and jaw kisses. each definitely has their own spots they like to kiss though, Francis loves to rub their noses together and kiss his neck/shoulders, whereas Arthur loves to kiss his cheeks and hands!
Gets jealous the most: Arthur. definitely has some kind of complex going on with his self esteem re: Francis being so attractive and he feels like Just Some Guy or not worthy.
Takes care of on sick days: so i would say both, but hear this; Arthur is totally that guy who does the man-flu act when he's sick, like if he has a lil cold he'll want to be babied and Francis will absolutely give in. on the other hand, Fran is such a drama queen, he'll pout all day if he like, stubs his toe or nicks a finger cooking, but he could be coughing up a lung and he'd be so in denial about it while Arthur is like you're going to the Hospital
Drags the other person out into the water on beach day: definitely Francis, Arthur didn't even want to go to the beach anyway.

ok why am i SO tired what the fuck
#the bin#i went to sleep yesterday at 4pm and then woke up at midnight. was uo an hour n ate a snack. and then went back to bed till 12#and then i went back to bed at 6pm. i got up at 10:40 and now its 2:30am and im SO tired#i cant sleep tho cause i gutta do laundry and then shower and then work. im only working a 4 1/2 hour shift tho#and then i have 3 days off. i can take big day long nap in that case.#i only even got up at 10:40 bc i wanted the kitty paws so i woke up specifically to boop. or else id of stayed in bed till now#cause i had an alarm to do laundry at 2am. hhhh. i wish i wasnt so sleepy. its so annoying. i oove sleepy but not when i have stuff to do#i guess it does make sense. i was SO behind on sleep for a week and then got even more behind bc of cleaning and stuff#but cant you just wait one more day? couldnt you do this tomorrow after im done working??? guess not. oh well.#im really upset i didnt get an answer from my mom yet. she said april 1st. she coulda at least texted me to say she doenst know yet#shes probs busy and forgot but. im so stressed abt this. if i dont fall asleep by the time shes done work tomorrow maybe i can call#hhh. i hate having this on my mind 100% of the time. its so stressful. my heart is constantly racing. my breathing is bad bc of it#having a constant anxiety attack sucks. maybe thats why im so tired too. i guess it is oretty exhausting. hhh. and its making me sad so#whatever. itll be fine. i do believe itll be good news. it HAS to be good news. i dont have mych basis for thinking itll be good news beside#asking some cards and like. i enjoy cartomancy but i dont put that much weight on it. but its all i have. it WILL be good news

hhhh i am so sorry if this sounds mean but the bulk of why i dont read a ton of cr fic when i was constantly devouring kylux fic largely boils down to two things
1. the technical stuff is eeh and 2. there is just not a ton of nuance in characterization or plot
both results in me being perpetually frustrated whenever i try to read most of what i open. theres been some gems!! theres also been a lot of stuff with promise where i can tell in a couple years the writer will knock it out of the park!!! but theres also a god awful amount where i'm just like that is not how dicks work lmao
i am sure a lot of that is because the cr fandom skews a lot younger than kylux (where folks are like 20-30 on average instead of 35-50 kinda younger) plus cr has a LOT of esl speakers compared to kylux whereas a TON of kyluxers have degrees in literature or library science, so like, it makes sense that there's a difference, but it still drive me bonkers that i cant just open a fic and read it without closing it halfway through because its too one note :I

nope!! i am very ship and let ship in all regards. there are many things i enjoy (like short!essek or the idea that caleb would and probably has made out with all of his friends) that crop up repeatedly across my fic but i'm down for basically any good faith interpretation and i LOVE when someone writes a weird headcannon so well i have to steal it

i can see that theres a matching theme going on. the younger boys get the light blue/dark colors casual matchy theme and the older ones get a more sophisticated and primarily black deal
and also asymmetrical designs. which, as u said, theres nothing wrong with that! i even like asymmetrical designs a lot! but these ones have me tilting my head JHVSKJDHKF
artem is the lesser evil here. his shirt isnt bad, per se, it just takes me a second glance to understand whats going on cuz the pattern acts a bit like an optical illusion at first

top five fonts!!!!!
oh shit oh fuck ok this is really tough bc of how contextual fonts are but so i think i gotta do one for general common uses my workhorse besties and another for my fun accent fonts
again in no particular order right now my standbys are
garamond my best friend. i like adobe garamond the best out of all the versions cuz she’s a little tighter and has a little bit of a smaller x height really sets a great mood
mrs. eaves is another fun serif i think she’s fun and quirky and i use her a lot
i like futura!! she’s good you don’t mess with a classic i don’t care if some people think it looks dated the 70s are coming back
theinhardt is a great all-purpose font that used to be my "brand" font for my resumes etc. people act like sans-serifs are all the same or all easy to design but that's not true!! i think this font is a really great example of how clean and timeless a well designed sans-serif can look
hhhh okay for some variety my last one is gonna be DIN even tho it's tied with a bunch bc 1) i love grotesks and there isn't one on this list yet and also the condensed version is great
for more statement fonts i love:
bodoni is a classic but for a reason. it's used in a lot of branding/magazines and i get why it feels luxurious. like garamond it has a million versions but the one i like/have become accustomed to is bodoni 72
justice for handwriting fonts some of them can be GOOD actually. clattering is a font i love that i've been wanting to find a use for for a while
programme is a really fun statement font and i'd love a reason to use their rotated version
i'm a sucker for a big wide slab serif as a statement font. my current goto for that is mighty slab
bc alphapipe is another font i love as a piece of design and wish i could find an application for
apologies for all the adobe links 🤢 that's often where i source my fonts. anyway please remember that just like with pirating blockbusters vs indie films, font design is hard work and designers are rarely compensated fairly for the massive time investment font design can be. pirate from the big typehouses like monotype. don't pirate fonts from indie creators.
