*The form under Callahan was distressed, that's all he understood. With one last growl and hiss, he slowly backed off of the smaller creature, retreating to a far corner of the loft and scanning the rest of the building on high alert.*

*He tucked his tail tightly between his legs, angry hissing and snarling settling into a low growl as he pressed himself up against the walls, expecting someone else to approach him next. That's typically what happened when he acted up, but he'd draw blood before he let anyone touch him again*

*in his worked up state, he failed to notice that Riake was scrambling to her feet*

*Riake scrambled, letting out a loud gasp of pain as she puts too much pressure on her shoulder while rolling to her side. She stumbles and wobbles as the faun struggles to stand. Her knees weak with fear, the deep growls from the tiefling reminding her of feral wolves.*

*Finally on her feet, Riake did not slow her movements as she darted towards her leather bag off the cot bed. Not caring for the items that fly out as the faun yanks the bag into her arms, Riake makes haste of dragging out the ladder with shaking hands.*

*The faun could feel the harsh breaths of the hunters on the back of her neck. Ready to lunge out and take her by the antlers at any moment. She can't be their prey-- not again*

*Shoving the ladder off the side, holding tight as the end hits the ground with a harsh thud, the rogue nearly flings herself off the side of the loft as she rans down the ladder. *

*Jumping off the last few feet, Riake slams to the ground with a loud cry, tears falling from her eyes as pain pluses through her shoulder. She didn't care. She didn't care. She needed to get out. She needed to leave.*

*And so she did. With shaking hands and quiet sobs, she shoved open the mill door. The fresh morning air brushes past her face and hair, pulling her out into the empty fields surrounding the broken building.

She didn't care to look back, the sounds of hounds echoing in her ears from memories of old.

Just like that, the young deer escapes into the trees.*
