Q&A
The mod team have been getting a lot of question, and we thought we'd use this opportunity to share the answers, and allay some fears. Whatever you're concerned about, you are not alone!
1. What if (as an artist) our story idea is terrible and nobody wants it?
A. The mods have a collection of ways to ensure everybody gets a good match. Unless your idea is (a) actually offensive, (b) a bad faith take for a public event (say, a meme done poorly, a crack prompt that's too specific, or a private joke taken too far), or (c) something so extremely detailed and specific that you should consider commissioning rather than participating in a public event, at least one person is going to be interested in creating for you.
Even for ideas that aren't popular / main pairings / concepts, even for ideas that are a bit off the wall -- there are always going to be creators who like a bit of a challenge. Who look at things and go, HUH. NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT ONE. and proceed to YOINK it up.
2. If I have an idea that I've written in part and shared in other discord servers, or have published incomplete somewhere, and find an artwork that fits with that, can I use that pre-existing idea to write for that artwork?
A. We have a rule about anonymity in order to make it as fair as possible when we open claims, so for the writers, it's less important that their ideas be brand new. However, in the spirit of the Bang, we do consider it important that the artist you're working with feels they are getting a fresh piece of work from you, and you do need to produce 10,000 words of new, previously unshared fic. If that happens to fit in with an idea you've already been writing, that's fine, so long as your artist is happy with that.
3. Is it okay if I sign up and then have to drop if, for example, none of the prompts interest me, or as an artist I realise I can't commit the time?
A. We would ask that people signing up do so with full intent to commit and not abandon their entry, whether they are entering as an artist or a writer. We do understand that commitments can be made and then circumstances prevent someone coming through as they intended, but if you're aware now that there is a serious possibility you won't be able to provide what you're signing up for, you may be better positioned to be a back up, a beta, or a cheerleader.
In the case of a Reverse Big Bang, with the art coming first, and the ideas coming from the artists, it is extra important that participants offering art not overcommit themselves, as the artists are the first link in the chain. This said, there is also no rush to sign up right now, as sign ups for artists don't close until the 30th of this month, so you have time to try and review your workload and schedule.
For writers, if the scope of what you are prepared to write is so narrow that you think there is a real risk that you won't find anything you will be able to write for, we would ask you to consider if a public event such as this is for you.
4. How many pieces of art can I do for the idea that I submit? Can I submit more ideas?
A. You can do as many pieces of art for any one idea as you like. Presently, we are keeping the number of ideas we will allow artists to submit to two until we know how the ratios are going to stack up. The mod team will be making regular updates both on the discord and here on tumblr to let participants know how that is faring at the time of posting. If the ratios are in favour, we may allow artists to submit third ideas.
5. Can I sign up as a pinch hitter?
A. At this time, we do not have a sign up process for pinch hitters, whether they be artists or writers. However, you do not need to be a Bang participant in order to pinch hit. Right now, people who join the discord are able to assign themselves roles such as pinch hitter, beta, and cheerleader, and will receive discord pings to that role as and if those become required. This is why we encourage people to join the discord even if they're not participating in the Bang directly, as there are still ways to support and help your fellows in the fandom.
Should the need arise for pinch hitters, the mod team will also be putting the message out on this tumblr, and reaching out to anyone that signed up and said they may be prepared to pinch hit. If you are contacted there is no requirement that you agree, we would just ask you to review the ideas on offer.
6. Do I need to join the discord in order to participate?
A. No. All the information and updates that are on the discord are also shared on tumblr, it's just that on tumblr we schedule posts to hit major time zones, and on discord they're put up immediately.
7. Will you be sharing the information artists put in their applications about what they're thinking of working on, and writers put in about what they would like to see somewhere that we can see it?
A. Yes! There will be weekly updates with this in an anonymous format shared on this tumblr. We also intend to share how many writers and artists have signed up so far so that you can have an idea of how ratios are currently stacking up. Please bear in mind, however, when we share this, that none of those numbers are final, and that we are only displaying the number of confirmed works on offer, and that a number of people are provisionally offering more.
8. Where do I find all the information about the Bang, such as rules and schedules, and an up to date discord link?
A. The pinned post on this tumblr contains all of that information. We also update the discord link on there any time we are made aware that it has expired, again. The mod team have been setting this to never expire, but discord is apparently not our friend, so if you find the link has expired, notify us either via asks, a message on the bottom of the post, or a tumblr IM, and we will update it (again).

Name: Chomp-Chomp
Debut: Pac-Man: The Animated Series
I’m glad Pac-Man has a dog. He is the kind of guy who should have a dog. He’s a “family guy”! He has his family, and they have their dog. His entire family is held ransom due to legal disputes, his dog is still there for him. He gets a fresh new state-of-the-art family, and his trusty dog is still there, same as always, a welcome constant in his life! That’s the great thing about dogs, that they are immortal! But where do such creatures possibly come from?
Tumblr media
They come from Hanna-Barbera cartoons, of course! When Hanna and Barbera give you a dog, that’s when you know you’ve made it. I do not have much to say about the cartoon itself, but if you’re the DOG of a famous character who debuted in a licensed cartoon and went on to become a mainstay of the franchise, that’s when you know you’ve REALLY made it!
Tumblr media
The Hanna-Barbera cartoon had weirdly a lot of influence on the game series, serving as a source of inspiration for Pac-Land, which even uses a version the main theme song as its dang music! And look who’s there, it’s our pal Bluish-Gray Chomp-Chomp. Mere years before his first metamorphosis.
Tumblr media
I have talked about Pac & Pal here before, but it is important to Chomp-Chomp’s history, so I will go over it briefly again here! Pac & Pal is a Pac-Man followup featuring Miru, a friendly yet mischievous character who helps collect fruit in the maze, at the cost of some points for the player. When (unsuccessfully) testing the game in the west, it was renamed to Pac-Man and Chomp-Chomp, replacing Miru with the cartoon dog! I love Miru to death, but look how cute Chomp-Chomp is in these sprites! I’m not sure why he was redesigned, but it’s definitely my favorite design for him, and I wish the game was popular enough to properly release, so we could have both versions. And like I said in the Miru post, I think a dog actually fits better in this context, as a character who you know is a friend, but who you might not want to get away with your stuff!
Tumblr media
And then, Chomp-Chomp just sort of kept appearing in things! Long after the cartoon was even relevant, here he was in Pac-Man World, for example, where he has clearly pupated between games, since he now has developed a whole new body plan! He also talks in this game, which is very funny, because he sometimes says dog phrases like “good boy”, as if he’s mimicking what his owners have said to him.
I’ve always been a bit torn on this design. It’s very cute! But I just feel like a Pac-Dog SHOULD be spherical. What if he was spherical?
Tumblr media
Oh no! Oh god! This is wretched! Why would you do this, Pac-Man World 2? This is not a dog! This is just a Pac-Person with floppy ears! This is not how you make a spherical dog!
Tumblr media
Ah... thank you so much, Pac’n Roll. I really needed that. Thank you for reminding me that a Pac-Dog can be spherical without looking like the equivalent of Pac-Man’s severed head. He is just named Pac-Dog here, but we all assume this is Chomp-Chomp.
The most recent Chomp-Chomp development... well, you may be aware of the Legal Hell that Ms. Pac-Man has been in, and you may be aware that Pac-Man’s entire family has now been retconned into new characters, with new names and new designs. But what of our dear Chomp-Chomp? Must he be replaced, as well? Are we in for the most drastic redesign yet?
Tumblr media
Nope! Good ol’ Chomp-Chomp is our anchor, keeping us stable and comfortable even when the world as we know it crumbles around us. His body is smaller in comparison to his head now, and I think I kind of like it more? The more stylized proportions feel like they fit more with the other characters! He DID, however, get a name change.
Tumblr media
He is now Pac-Buddy! It feels unnecessary, but whatever! It’s fine, I guess. He is indeed a Buddy. Maybe they were worried Hanna-Barbera would decide to start caring about the Chomp-Chomp name again. I don’t really care what they call him, though! The Pac-Dog is here, he’s always been here, and with the more consistent branding recently, it seems like he is finally here to stay!

Sception Reads Cass Cain #11
Tumblr media
Batman: Gotham City Secret Files #1, "Night Games" Story by Scott Peterson & Kelley Puckett Written by Scott Peterson, Pencils by Paul Ryan
Now that's an interesting lineup. Paul Ryan is a different artist, but Scott Peterson and Kelley Puckett is the initial story team behind Cass's solo title - only usually Kelley Puckett delivers the actual script, and here it's Peterson instead. I wonder if I'll be able to notice a difference? Probably not, it's been too long since I read the Batgirl title - I've been holding off on going back to it to try and preserve some fresh thoughts for this re-read.
Tumblr media
Story opens on this cute little fight scene where Cass takes down a group of street toughs in the time it takes for the bottle one of them drops to hit the ground. As I often call out when it happens, I like that the artist draws her face through the mask in the first panel there, but what I like less is that I don't particularly recognize that face as Cass? Just doesn't look like her facial features? But this is comics books arts, so different artists draw characters differently, can't get too annoyed about that.
Tumblr media
The gratuitous butt shots, though, that I will get annoyed at if it keeps up. Come on, Ryan.
Tumblr media
Agh! Selina! What happened to your waist! Your poor organs!
Yeesh. I won't complain about this all issue, and it's not like so bad I'm submitting posts to escher girls or anything, but yeah.
Anyway, we do have the premise, though. a pal-around team up with Selina and Cass. Which will doubtless have Selina trying to pull some tricksy business, and Cass seeing right through her, since it's not like Peterson and Puckett are going to forget how her body reading works. Should be fun.
Tumblr media
There's something very DCAU about how Ryan draws the city. I don't dislike it, but I feel like a similarly cartoony aesthetic to the characters would fit in better with the surroundings.
Tumblr media
So Selina's tailing some guy, and when a group of muggers start moving in on him she and Cass step in before he notices.
Tumblr media
I like the big smile on Cass there. Again, she likes being Batgirl. She's having fun. It's an important glimpse into the kid she really is underneath the guilt and self loathing that provides an essential counterpoint to her angst, and it's an extra twist in the knife too the angst, in a way that I don't want to get into now because I'm saving that bit for... when does that dream sequence happen?
... holy shit, Batgirl #18? That's way later than I remembered it happening? I thought that was in the very earliest days! A year and a half into her comic? I don't know if I can wait that long to talk about that. We might have to have an out of order interlude to bring it up early.
Tumblr media
Not today, though. For now we're sticking to this rare Batgirl/Catwoman team up. Selina's not used to fighting as a team and isn't sure exactly how to do it, but Cass doesn't really need the help, so Selina just leans back and throws in the occasional whip crack when she's bored. It's a fun little sequence.
Tumblr media
Cass is still a brand new character, one with her own title starting at issue one the same month as this book was released, so the writers are very clearly having Selina talk her up here, but it works in character since playful complimentary banter to put people at east and get them to expose weaknesses is just part of Catwoman's whole deal.
And I like the way Cass is arching a brow there in the first panel, & shrugging in the second. No words, but very expressive. The face feels a bit more like her too, here.
Tumblr media
There's a couple pages of cutaway to Barbara and Bruce wondering what Cass is up to. We get confirmation of her age here - 17. Though I'm not entirely sure how they know that, as I'm not sure that's something Cass would know herself. Sadly there's some sort of issue with the next page in the scan I'm working from, but it mentions that despite not knowing how to speak, Cassandra seems to understand more or less what people are saying to her, and Bruce mentions that he hasn't quite figured out how that works yet. He'll have figured it out by Batgirl #1, but it's a mystery to be hinted at in this book.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Selina and Cass track the guy they've been following to a meetup with a buyer for whatever it is he's got in his briefcase. The buyer turns out to be the Penguin, and item to be sold...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, the new construction in Gotham is mostly down to Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor. If documents detailed hidden surveillance that might be Lex, but hidden entrances feels more like Bruce taking advantage of the rebuilding effort to make his little appearing/disappearing trick a bit easier.
Obviously these would be valuable for a thief, like the Penguin, or Catwoman herself, but Selina views it as cheating, and opts to destroy the blueprints instead.
Thankfully she wasn't actually pulling anything particularly nefarious here. Thankfully for Selina, I mean. She can hold her own in a fight, but Cass, at least this version of Cass, is supposed to be in the Richard Dragon / Bronze Tiger / Lady Shiva tier for DC comics martial artists, and that's just not what Catwoman's about.
Tumblr media
Catwoman's curiosity is piqued, though, so after saying goodbye she doubles back to follow this new Batgirl home and find out more about her.
Tumblr media
But much to Selina's suprise, Cass knows she's following and cuts her off. Selina thinks there's no way she could have been heard, and Cass must have known she'd follow somehow, again hinting at but not outright stating Cass's body reading gimmick.
...
And that was that. This book's an anthology issue, with different stories by different creative teams, but this is the only one with Cass in it. It was a nice, lighthearted change of pace from the last Cass story. Kind of short, not too much going on, but we do get a bit of Cass having fun and a look at some of her books gimmicks - not just hinting at her body reading ability, but also the gimmick of interspersing Cass's adventures with Bruce and Barbara talking about her. Not essential reading by any stretch, but not bad.
Next time, at long last, we finally get to Cassandra Cain's solo book. Will it be as good as I remember right from the start? I'm eager to find out.

Everything You Should Know About Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Tumblr media
Stock up on those 1-Ups and put on your plumber hat - it’s finally time for a new mainline Super Mario Bros. game! It’s been six years since Odyssey, but at long last, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is right around the corner. Releasing for the Nintendo Switch on October 20th, Wonder is bringing in a fresh new art style and direction for the franchise, departing from the “New” style phase that lasted 17 whole years.   A bouncy new animation style, new additions to the playable cast, and even a brand new kingdom - this game is sure to be a real wonder. Even Mario and Luigi themselves are a little different this time; with Charles Martinet retiring after 27 years of voicing the most famous brothers in gaming, they’ll have new voice actors in Wonder. It’s still unknown exactly who their actors are, but judging by the trailers, I’d say they’re doing a spot-on job.   If you happened to miss any of Wonder’s trailers, or the Nintendo Direct that showed off a lot of what we know, there’s no need to worry - I’ve collected all known info about the game and gathered it all here as a convenient refresher to catch up on news right before the game releases. Here we go!
Tumblr media
The Plot - Welcome to the Flower Kingdom!    If you’re expecting the usual Mario plot of “Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach, so Mario journeys through the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue her”, prepare to be surprised! In the neighbouring Flower Kingdom, ruled by Prince Florian, Bowser has stolen the power of the Wonder Flower, transforming into a gigantic flying castle and throwing the kingdom into chaos! It’s up to Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy (in her first non-spinoff playable appearance!), a pair of Toads, and Toadette to chase after Bowser and restore the Flower Kingdom back to normal. Additionally, the playable cast includes four Yoshis and a sneaky Nabbit, who all act as an “easy mode” and take no damage from enemies (but can still fall into pits).   Throughout the adventure, Talking Flowers will pop up across the Flower Kingdom’s seven different areas, often giving hints about secret areas - or just providing some random commentary. Harnessing the mysterious power of the Wonder Flowers scattered around the kingdom and armed with new allies and new power-ups, it’s time to rescue the kingdom’s resident Poplins from Bowser’s clutches, gather the Wonder Seeds, and save the kingdom!
Tumblr media
Wonder Flowers and New Powers    Wonder’s central new mechanic is the Wonder Flowers - strange flowers found throughout the kingdom that, when touched, inflict bizarre effects on the players and levels. Expect the unexpected! They could do anything from transforming you into a helpless Goomba or sending you floating through space, to causing warp pipes to come alive and move around or even shifting the levels’ perspective so you walk on the “background”! Collecting a Wonder Seed, the game’s primary collectable, will revert the level back to normal, so keep an eye out!   Meanwhile, a new arsenal of power-ups appear in this game. The Elephant Fruit will turn the player into an elephant (surprise, surprise), granting a strong trunk to swing around and splash out collected water, as well as the ability to easily smash through blocks and charge across gaps. The Drill Mushroom will equip the player with a fancy drill hat, letting you burrow through the ground (and even on the ceiling) to hide from enemies or reach inaccessible areas. Finally, the Bubble Flower lets you blow floaty bubbles that can trap and defeat enemies - even normally-invulnerable foes, or enemies hiding on the other side of walls. The bubbles can even be used as temporary platforms!   The all-time classic Fire Flower also makes a return, letting you throw fireballs around and burn your foes to a crisp. Also, similarly to previous games like Super Mario 3-D World, power-ups can be stored and swapped out at will, so it’s a good idea to keep certain power-ups in your pocket to pull out when they’re needed.
Tumblr media
Brand-New Badges    One of the most diverse new mechanics introduced in Wonder is badges; as Prince Florian accompanies the player on their adventure, these fancy badges can be purchased or unlocked and equipped on Florian’s hat, granting unique abilities. Only a single badge from your collection can be equipped at a time, and you can switch them out between levels or after losing a life in one. Certain badges can be unlocked via completing special, themed challenge levels that teach you how to use the badges’ ability, or purchased with the Super Mario Odyssey-esque purple coins found in other levels.   So, what kind of abilities do these badges actually grant? There’s a wide selection of powers, ranging from the useful to the unconventional: glide through the air, boost yourself up from wall-jumping, constantly dash at maximum speed, swing and stick to walls with a grappling-hook vine (not unlike a certain arachnid-themed superhero game releasing on the same date as Wonder), or even turn completely invisible to both enemies and yourself! One particularly useful badge revealed in trailers allowed the player to bounce back from certain death to bottomless pit, while another acted like a magnet that drew in those hard-to-reach coins right into your pocket. You’ll be able to mix-and-match based on your own preferences - or even coordinate badges with your co-op allies for the best combinations!
Tumblr media
Multiplayer Madness    Super Mario Wonder brings a brand-new twist to the usual multiplayer mechanics found in Mario games. While you can play local couch co-op with up to the standard four players (and even ride on the back of any Yoshis your friends might be playing as!), the real difference comes to play in the online aspect of multiplayer.   Connecting online will reveal “player shadows”, other players around the world that are playing Wonder in real-time, running around the overworld and clearing levels right alongside you! Shadows can help you out by sharing their items or reviving dying players, and can place unlockable and customisable standees in levels that will also revive dead player ghosts.   Additionally, you will be able to open an online room, inviting up to 12 friends to play together from anywhere in the world. In these rooms, you’ll even be able to race each other through courses, and communicate with other player shadows with emotes.
That’s just about everything there is to know about Super Mario Bros. Wonder before it releases on October 20th, 2023! I know I’m excited - let me know if you are too! Feedback, reblogs and likes are much appreciated, and thanks for reading!

Bottom of the barrel isekai review
Tumblr media
In this world there is a force far greater then anything we are used it. a creature that has been evolving since the dawn of life itself on this blue rock we dare make it share.
its teeth endless, its speed in-escapable, its power awe-inspiring. forcing those who witness it to create stories in celebration and worship around it.
what could this creature be? what could demand the respect of humans to such a degree that it has cemented itself as the oceanic Apex?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
we are going to review the manga "Killer shark in another world".
we start at an adventureing academy for young summoners in the midst of a existinal war for the country, here young students summon their monster so that they may train with them and join the ranks in order to free their country men from the threat of the encroaching demonic army.
we then focus on our main charecter, shiromi! a young girl who has shown lack luster spirtual ability, but has been getting dreams of a odd creature. deeming them to be prophetic. her dreams prove to be visions as she summons a small shark.
Tumblr media
right off the bat, im in fucking love. do you want to know the story? fuck you, sharks.
i'm makeing the story synopis quick so i can show you pictures from this shit.
she is deemed a traitor and kicked out and goes on a world trotting adventure to try to keep her shark summon from killing everyone and chipping away at the forces of the demon kings army.
this manga is a breath of fresh air. it is every b- teir schlock shark movie intagrated into an isekai.
Tumblr media
to me the greater story of it is irrelevant, as is the story of a movie like sharknado, because you aren't here for the fucking plot of sharknado, you are not here for the story of Meg, you are here to watch a Big ass shark rip shit up expeditiously and watch some fucking explosions.
this manga provides that, it tenderly swaddles you in the viscera of its imagery and force feeds you scenes of delightful gratuitous violence towards anything that has a pulse and can be deemed even slightly annoying.
it is indiscriminate, it is magnanimous, the shark is the strongest motherfucker on gods blue marble and it will find ways to become stronger. it is a shark blessed with the powers of Every Single God Damn Shark Movie ever invented by the sick twisted minds of humanities most beloathed film makers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
is it impressive art wise? no, but only when its not drawing sharks. the moment the author is allowed to draw a shark, their autism sparks to live and we are blessed with the fucking magic that is the motherfucking shark.
Tumblr media
is it impresssive story wise? No, its a shark running around eating random demon lords and people. nothing makes sense, the technology and culture make no sense. the villians motives make no sense. every where you turn the story bends itself to get itself to the next shark moment and you will grovel before it and thank it for how quick its dragging you to the nexts Blood Feast that it has loveingly prepared for you.
hell, even when trying to tell a story, it will take breaks in itself to go and kill a random isekai charecter from a completely different manga. and every time it rips into a shitty isekai protag, i have to fan myself like a god damn southeren belle that caught a glimpse of that kindly cowboys buns flexing while framed in those chaps. it has made me fall in love with it, a deep desperate love of what it has to show me next. what new and insane bullshit will it concoct? which motherfucker is about to get eaten?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the manga is endlessly creative in the same way that shark movies are endlessly creative. finding new ways to give this one shark insane and bat shit powers based on various movies. finding brand new ways to leave the world that it inhabits in shambles with millions of fucking shark bites ripped out of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
all i can do is recommend that you go and read through this, its a short 27 chapter things and its not ever yet, but i promise you it will itch all the right spots on your brain if you are like me and have read all the shittiest isekais one can read.

Hot Tip: Make a game of it – see if you can make a complete loop around the perimeter without straying into the aisles!
Timing is Everything Groccery Stores tend to be less crowded in the early morning or late evening. If you want to shop in peace, avoid the Saturday afternoon rush!
Did You Know: Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days to shop for fresh produce, as many stores restock their inventory on these days.
The Checkout Shuffle You've conquered the aisles, found your treasures, and now it's time to check out. But wait, there's more to this than meets the eye!
The Art of Queue Selection Choosing the right checkout line is an art form. Keep an eye out for these factors:
Number of Items: Opt for a line with shoppers who have a similar number of items to you. Cash vs. Card: Some lines move faster based on the payment method. Express Lanes: If you have just a handful of items, express lanes are your friends. Hot Tip: Choose the line with the cashier who's the most fun – a little small talk can make the wait enjoyable!
Bagging Brilliance Bagging your groceries is an art, too! If you're not a pro, observe these tips:
Heavy at the Bottom: Place heavier items at the bottom of the bag to prevent squished bread or damaged produce. Double-Bag Fragiles: For delicate items, request double-bagging for added protection. Reusable Bags: Consider using reusable bags for an eco-friendly twist. Pro Tip: If you want to take your bagging skills to the next level, watch some YouTube tutorials!

Fic Friday
Here we are, once again. I'm tearing you to pieces like a Kelly Clarkson song from the mid-00's. It's Friday, so you know that I have something for you. A brand new chapter of An Invincible Summer is fresh out of the oven and baked with the promise of something wicked; however, if you chew on it for a while, you might be able to taste the hope to come shortly thereafter. We're just shy of 30,000 words now! :O
Mild spoilers if you haven't read the chapter yet (if you're concerned about that type of thing. But I have also been dropping hints about this for a while, so I don't think it's anything earth-shattering.)
Rating: E (canon-typical violence, explicit content, check the tags)
Genre: Romance, action, adventure, drama
Pairing: Dahlia Wintersnow (OC Dragonborn)/Ulfric Stormcloak

Snippet:
Lord Kettle-Green begins by opening his desk drawer and taking out some of the objects his friend’s letter specified: white wax candles mixed with the ground bones of an ancestor, nightshade petals harvested under the light of a new moon, and a ceremonial dagger which must be bathed in the blood of an innocent. However, there is one thing which is missing that he has yet to collect and which he has had trouble procuring. Getting into the Temple of Arkay has been a problem to say the least. Ever since the incident with the Butcher, the security patrolling the streets in the area has doubled, and the one time he sought an appointment, that old crone Helgrid followed him everywhere, eyes fixed on him strangely as if she knew something. But how could she? He had not whispered one word of his plan to anyone and has been careful to lock the correspondences he has received tightly in his desk.
Down the hall, he suddenly hears the creaking wood of the floorboards, bending under the weight of someone coming slowly this way. He quickly shuts away his precious items. Even to those with no knowledge of the darker arts, it should be abundantly clear what he is trying to do, and he would be stopped before he even got started.
Soon, a head pokes its way around the corner and the wispy grey hair of the maid he hired, one of the last pieces to his puzzle, makes an appearance. They do not have the money to keep all of their hearths lit, let alone pay her, but he is making an investment in hopes that she will pay dividends later on. At least she had better, or they will soon be out of a house. It is a calculated risk he is willing to take to make sure he has access to a warm body—the blood of an innocent.
There is no turning back now. The wheels of fate are already in motion, and he is not inclined to stop them—only to push them along further.

// major  update !
Tumblr media
here’s  a  list  of  the  things  i’ll  be  busy  working  on  for  the  next  few  days,  aside  from  owed  art  commissions.
𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐍:
+  more icons
+  banner update
+  finish  off  the  missing  info  on  pages
+  update  the  rules  section
+  proper  art  of  mrs. saebom  &  envy
+  headcanons !
+  a  new  thread  tracker ( since  i  can’t  log  into  my  old  one  lmao )
+  relationship  tags
&  𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓:
+  re-focusing  on  the  canon  route  of  his  story.
i’ve  been  actually  thinking  about  this  one  for  a  while  &  as  much  as  i  do  like  my  current  threads,  there  are  a  lot  of  them  that  also  have  nothing   ────  absolutely  nothing  ────   to  do  with  envy’s  own  canon.  this  matter  makes  it  terribly  difficult  for  me  to  reply.  i  mean,  how  many  of  you  ( except  for  the  brand  new  people )  have  really  delved  into  who  ‘ envy ’   really  is?  did  your  characters  hear  him  mention  his  life-long  goal?  about  his  scars?  what  about  his  father  ( who  is  still  very  much  alive )  or  his  supposed  grandmother?  in  fact,  being  a  major  villain...   did  the  creature  ever  appear  in  your  story  at  all?
i  can  keep  going  about  this,  but  i’m  sure  you  get  the  point  by  now.  a  heavy  70%-80%  of  threads  tend  to  revolve  about  chasing / stalking / romancing /  getting  to  know  the  life  of  the  other  character  ────  yet  hardly  ever  envy’s.  at  this  point  in  time,  i’ve  feel  like  many  people  see  him  as  simply  another  murderous   &  creepy  yandere  who’ll  fall  for  just  about  any  character  &  that’s  it,  that’s  the  ‘  goal,  ‘   but   not  in  my  eyes.  i  want  for  my  partners  to  experience  who  he  really  is  &  pull  their  characters  into  a  horror  story  that  is  not  only  about  obsession  or  murder,  but  also  about  love,  betrayal,  &  regret;  a  journey  down  the  rabbit  hole  so  deep  that  they’ll  begin  to  not  only  question  the  man  named  ‘ envy, ’  but  also  themselves.  after  all,  this  is  what  i  personally  love  to  write  about  &  created  envy  for...
to  survive,  to  think,  &  attempt  things  your  character  would  normally  never  think  of  doing,  just  like  alice.  i  simply  want  for  both  sides  to  explore  one-another  as  the  story  runs  its  course,  &  give  envy  a  chance  to  either  be  saved  or  downright  damned,  just  like  mrs.  saebom  wishes  him  to  be.
either  way,  i’d  like  to  have  a  fresh  start  with  some  &  give  an  opportunity  in  general  to  have  interactions  with  more  substance,  so,  expect  new  open  starters  eventually.  thank  you  kindly  for  reading. ♥

but, since we are at it:
ZACHTRONICS IS BACK BABY!!!
Tumblr media
and in what a way!
it might be too early to tell but zachtronics may have just done it again!
i said once that with exapunks zachtronics had already explored the concept of programming games as thoroughly as they could and it would do well for them to start exploring new things.
well, they sure have done that in the last few instances with the psychology simulator visual novel Eliza and Mobius front ‘83 but this last entrance may be the fresh new hit they had been waiting for.
this game explores a concept they had been touching on in previous entrances such as TIS-100, shenzen i/o and exapunks (btw, lets just take a second to admire what a penache for cool names they have). the gimmick being “what if you were using a fictional computer with a fictional OS where you fiddle around with fictional(?) software. [i mean is it really fictional? it IS software being executed on your computer, is just that is wrapped with a fictional world around it... food for thought]
you can tell these people love old informatics, from pixelated visual design of the desktop and the icons and the windows, to the replication of the sound of an old modem conecting to the internet to this fucking beauty
Tumblr media
it exhudes such a potent miasma of nostalgia for the computers, the games and the hobbies of yesteryear.
but what is the game itself you may ask?
well, the idea is very simple, imagine a big game, not big just in size but dense, filled with rivulets and asides and rich veins of lore and colorful details, tangents and asides and above all else minigames. all those little semi shovelware minigames that a dedicated developer might slap together in a weekend and then put into the main game as a form to add some extra content for the fans
well, this game is JUST THE MINIGAMES. just minigames bundled together in an incredibly charming basket.
but dont think these are just stupid mindless mobile tier candy crush clones.
i have played a few, Dungeons & Diagrams is a fascinatingly intricate puzzle game, the mechanics are not incredibly unique but they are really well executed, the game is just a tight, concise, well presented and simple idea, with genuenly challenging difficulty that ramps up, if a bit unbalanced at times since the difficulty progression is kind of inconsinstent and will jump up and down from one level to another, although at this point i almost consider that one more staple of the zachtronics brand.
and to top it all you keep getting mails as you play it telling you the history of the fictional developer of that game. just an absolute embarasment of riches.
the other one i played was HACK*MATCH. a little bejeweled-like thing they recycled from exapunks to which they added some delightful bells and whistles, this time with anime characters done in charming faux-anime style and some weirdly suggestive and dare i say sexual voice acting.
but dont think that just because it was recycled there is nothing new mechanics-wise. besides the new art it also adds some new modes of playing and new obstacles into the game that actually introduce unexpected depths of strategy into what was something not much more complex than double bubble, plus makes it a finite game so you get the satisfaction of completing it. also, unlike exapunks you can just play the game, rather than having to unlock a few levels of the core game to access it AND (most important of all!!!) its a finite game, so you can finish it instead of adictively dumping hours upon hours with the sole goal of beating your own previous high score. a masturbatory activity which i am shamefuly gulty of and which wasted far too many hors of my life. this time i get the satisfaction of a work done and done well.
there is so much more to explore here and i have barely scratched the surface, you can bet your sweet ass that ill be coming back to talk about all the other games ill be playing in this little thing, all i can say is im stoked that zach barth is at it again with his bullshit, of which i cannot get enough of.
im sorry patrick

Hi my love 🥺💗 gonna make a super long letter (if it doesn’t fit here ima make another post)🤭☀️ *loving the delivery sm that I rush to my delivery box*
Tumblr media
First of all baby boo, here is my Pinterest acc link (the personal one) incase the link doesn’t work, the username is @ mzr__ those are my initials lol. 🤭
Okay so, let me start replying, I love love the slow jazz music you suggested, it’s so chill I feel so relaxed. All it makes me wanna do is play it, go to some vintage coffee shop, read books and do journaling to my heart’s content. It was such a fresh breather I love it. 🥹
Yes yes, I took those pictures of 🌙⭐️ I really love taking pictures sm I always take pictures and capture my memories and feelings. Here are 3 pics of some of the most beautiful places I’ve seen (I have more but there’s a picture limit here sadly) the marina bay sand and gardens by the bay sg and inside masjid al haram in ksa, mecca. 🥹 I took them obv.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chu anonie 🐁 would you like to talk elsewhere with me? Like maybe on discord or telegram, you don’t even have to use or share ANY PERSONAL INFO W ME, you can create a username like hyunnie or sth hyunjin related and use his dp. I’ll search you up w that username and talk there. The SOLE REASON I’m proposing this is cause you sometimes ask me personal questions like where I live, and I REALLY WANNA TELL YOU BC I TRUST U SO MUCH!💖 but on here, everyone can see them and I don’t feel safe sharing personal info online. I feel like I’m shutting you out when I don’t answer those question of yours that’s why I’m saying so. But ofcourse baby love if you don’t want, we can keep talking here as usual!! <3 just the pic and personal content will be less sadly bc of other audience reading our convos 💔
I also really like aesthetics and aesthetic people so so much, you can see my personal Pinterest , I’m obsessed w aesthetics lol. Idk artsy and aesthetic people ARE SO DAMN ATTRACTIVE, I love hyunjin’s artistic side it’s honestly so admirable. Art museums have so much passion in them, I’d love to visit one. I love artists the most in this world, bc damn, their minds are one captivating museum themselves.
Aww pink shades?🥺 those are such cute lip shades baby!!💗 pink shades don’t suit me however 🤡 bc of my Asian golden skin, nude browns suit me the most!! My most fav lipstick is sand storm by wet n wild bc it appears a brown nude on my face, and I use another lip liner by another brand I can’t remember ;;-;;! Those are my go to, tho I always end up eating my lipstick w food AND MAN, THAT IS SO UN-FEMININE and lame of me istg😭
I heard the song by Rihanna! I really like your very diverse music taste, it’s attractive honestly! You have such a diverse, exploring and adventurous mind that I always get fascinated by it. I just love hearing you talk in general. You feel like it’s always a mess but to me, they aren’t at all. When you talk, it’s like you’re splashing colours from every direction, diff colours bc you change topics and share feelings abruptly but know what that leads to? AN ART PIECE. A FASCINATING ART PIECE with different splashes that capture your feelings that over all lead to a precious and artistic masterpiece. 🥺
Keshi is my fav singer atm istg!😭 his songs are my comfort songs, the low voice always gets me and I love his lyrics. They’re never super direct and you can’t understand if he’s referring to a certain someone or certain feeling, I find it so cool!! Other than skeletons, I also love angel, 2 soon, less of you, beside you, understand etc. <3
Gabi?!😭 PLS I WAS OBSESSED WITH NIKI AND GABI when I was like 14? I loved their what’s in my bag videos, night routine and shopping hauls so much ahah cause those were the trends back in those days. But I haven’t seen them in a new while, I’ll be sure to check out how gabi is now! Vintage stuff? Ok that sounds interesting🤩
About Valentine’s Day~ I didn’t feel like dressing up and pls people always raise the price of flowers and cake during ocassions🤡 so I don’t buy em at all. But if you’re gonna talk to me on Valentine’s Day, can I dress up for you?🙈 I love dressing up for my loved ones, should I wear a red top and get loose curls and surprise you with pics? 🙊 if you say yes, I’ll ofc try our date~🌹
Omg anonie I love red & black and then baby pink so much too!!😭 wow we’re a match! Light baby pink and white are like my comfort colours I swear.. feels so relaxing !
Also age I feel like is just a number. You don’t really get wiser or mature with age for some people. Some people are so immature and mean even in their 40’s while some people are so mature and calm when they’re 17. As you said, it’s in the way you’re raised, in the people you surround yourself with. And personally me, I get along w everyone starting from aunties to 5 year old kids😭 I’m way too friendly, I only have romantic age preferences but when it comes to making friends, I’m open to having any aged friend. 🥰 when it comes romantically, I just really like same aged people (I mean not the same year but preferably a year older or two.) that’s why, Jake is like the best person for me hahah. I’ll tell you why I prefer that tho If you’d like to know.
And omg who’s troubling you😡 he’s such a creep!! I’ll come beat him up!! 🔪 pls try to stay away from creepy people, men are just so scary ffs😭 I don’t even talk to them bc I’m genuinely frightened and always question their intentions. Ofc good men exist, but I am a bad people magnet smh so yeah🤡
You do journaling? Omg I’d love to see🥺 and move out next month love. All my work is done now, I just need to rent an apartment and they won’t let me do it this early since my semester starts from March 27. Foreign students can only rent an apartment right before their classes start.
About your and my anniversary hmm🤭👩‍❤️‍👩 I forgot too bc I have trouble remembering dates!! And no, wonie’s bday is the day after i.nnie’s it’s on 9th. As for our belated anniversary gift, I have a surprise to make it up to you! Face reveals for you?🙊 (yea those pics will probably be from the ancient times I dressed up for Jake’s bday lol🤡) but anyway! Surprise at the end of the ask. 💗
One time I sprayed perfume in my eyes too!! Happens omg💀 but I hope the burning sensation simmered down baby!! Be careful next time. And omg yes pls, I watched titanic and the ending T-T but I’m like a huge sucker for tragic romance, forbidden romance so yes I LOVED IT!!
Anyway, I’m so sleepy it’s 11 pm here only tho but I’ll BE WAITING DESPERATELY FOR YOUR REPLY WHEN I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING bc your texts really brighten up my day! And first thing in the morning really feels like the first warm ray of light peeking through my window!🥺💛 I’d ofc love to show you my poetry and what not, but like I said I can’t really post em here!!
Sooo, wrapping it up with an 𝕴 𝖑𝖔𝖛𝖊 𝖞𝖔𝖚 𝖘𝖔 𝖒𝖚𝖈𝖍 💛☀️
Your anniversary gift 🎁 (that I’ll be removing right after you see from this ask ) sorry for disappointing you bc you really think I’m like an angel, but no I’m sadly just a mere girl! </3

Note-I don’t hold by a lot of these opinions now, this was posted when the trailer was brand new and was fresh on my mind. I’ve had some time to dwell on them and have come to a very different conclusion on my opinions to Scarlet and Violet. I plan on coming back to my opinions on the game, presumably a bit after a new trailer. I still hold by a couple points here, which is why I’m keeping it up. Thank you.
(This began as me just talking about the model for Sprigatito but then I just began rambling about the new mons lol. Also spoilers obviously)
Did anyone else think the Sprigatito 3D model looks, well, weird? It feels very uncanny valley. I think it’s because they had a very stylised design, but the textures they put on the model are fairly realistic. This then leading to an off putting character. Also, I think the eyes might be smaller than on the 2D art we saw, or maybe it’s just me.
For the record I think the other two starters look fine, tho still a bit off. Not much as Sprigatito however. The other pokemon shown also don’t seem to have this issue ether. But we obviously don’t have the full game out, so I can’t really give a full opinion on the models yet.
Also, I really don’t like the new pokemon they showed off. The designs are far to simple and they feel like something from a fan game (not saying all pokemon fan games have bad designed fakemon, but i just get that vibe from the new mons) The main offender for this is the pig mon, it’s just an extremely stylised pig and there’s really nothing else to it. The orange dog(?) and the grape definitely feel more like actual pokemon, but they still feel like they needed a tad bit more time in the oven.
The box legendary’s are definitely the strongest new designs shown, but I feel pretty conflicted about them. I quite like the one for violet, the sleek man-made design works a ton, and it’s purple and yellow electricity looks really cool. I’m not super fond of the weird jet legs, and feel like they be removed without it affecting much, but it’s not a super big deal and I can look past it. Now, when it comes to scarlets, I have a bit more to say. First the colours (specifically the blue and red) don’t really mesh well, and the magenta feels out of place. I have no idea what they were going for with the saw chest, but it’s strange and could of been implemented a bit better. The design also could of used a few more drafts overall. That being said, I think it’s an alright design and can see why others can like it, but it’s not for me.
Edit: so i took a quick look at the website and apparently the pig is called lechonk, I have the same criticism with the design, but that name bumps it up a solid point. Also the grape is called smoliv (which means it’s not a grape) and that’s even better. Pawmi (the orange dog) doesn’t look too bad with the 2D art, still has the fakemon vibe however.

3 Essential Design Trends, April 2024
March 25, 2024
Ready to jump into some amazing new design ideas for Spring? Our roundup has everything from UX to color trends covered.
Let’s spring into some fun colors and unique UX. This month’s roundup of website design trends should have you feeling fresh and ready to head into the new season.
Here’s what’s trending in design this month:
1. User Experience Unicorns
There are many fun little elements appearing in new design projects. With emerging technology and users with faster, more reliable internet everywhere, it’s much easier to incorporate some of these fun elements and know that they will work.
To get the most out of each of these examples, click through and play around a bit. Also, be on the lookout for similar unicorns as you navigate other websites.
Double 2 does a few different things, but the most fun element in the design is the color picker at the top right of the screen. Print designers might recognize some of the crop and bleed marks as well as the CMYK color block. Click a color, and the background changes to match; the logo also takes on a new font treatment and style with each shift.
Akaru does one thing like the example before it, with downpage navigation – is this an emerging trend of its own? – but shines with the treatment of the right side, numbered panels. Click any of them to jump into a web experience for that section of the site that all seems to happen without you leaving. The menu has a nice feel as well, with robust menu options, hover state animations and a full reel video.
Your Majesty is a magazine-style website with a homepage design that seems to bend images and space. Click on any of the images and you pop into an immersive content experience with the same shape-bending background for each. The design leaves every user with a quandary – do I want to read on or just keep looking at all the great art effects?
2. Black and White Imagery
Black-and-white imagery has such a classic feel that it is often hard to think of as a trend. On the other hand, the use of black-and-white images and video seems to come and go in waves of popularity. Right now, it’s returning to prominence.
The secret to using black-and-white imagery is connecting it to storytelling. The lack of color has to work in concert with your brand and design story to be truly effective. Otherwise, it can leave users somewhat underwhelmed or confused.
In each of these examples, the use of black and white has a purpose, and each website design tackles it in a different way with a different purpose and results in mind.
Michelle Benzer showcases her work by leading off with a beautiful black-and-white video reel that leads into color images. The stark nature of the black-and-white video helps bring focus to the color images when they appear. It’s a classic example of contrast for impact done well.
Luciano de Crescenzo also uses a black-and-white concept for his personal site, leading off with two images of himself taken decades apart. While the design does feature some color well below the scroll, the images grab your attention with the simple overall aesthetic. Between the black-and-white photos and light-and-black design, everything is created to facilitate reading.
The Boathouse isn’t a personal portfolio but does highlight the work of a brand agency. This design features a collage with plenty of black-and-white images that animate onto the screen as an attention-grabber. The placement and style of text in the hero area with the colorless images give the design an elegant feel.
All three of these designs start in black and white and transition into some additional color on the scroll. This is done with purpose. Too much black-and-white imagery can feel stark and lifeless, while flipping from black-and-white to color has a type of “Wizard of Oz” effect, bringing life to the design.
3. Brights Are Back
If you thought bright colors were gone, you are wrong. They are back!
The colors that made Material Design palettes popular – yes, pink and purple among them – are making a return to all types of website design projects. (And we kind of love them.)
There's something fresh and happy about bright colors that’s hard to ignore. They work well for everything from portfolio sites to app landing pages. The only real challenge with this color trend is the potential to create a not-so-great combination of hues because of your brand colors. (So be careful there.)
Joseph Yosep uses a fun combination of color and oversized text to get attention. Subtle motion doesn’t hurt, either.
Function and Form uses a more neutral background color and goes all in with bright graphics. Multiple animated screens introduce different elements, many of which feature similar color palettes.
Say Social combines color and interesting animation – look for the UX unicorn in the navigation wheel downpage – in a way that makes you want to click around. The design uses multiple variations on color themes with tints and tones that make everything work seamlessly with a variety of two-color, bright options.
Conclusion
While user experience changes aren’t for the faint of heart, they can have a huge impact on your overall design and projects. For most website revamps, this isn’t something we’d recommend, but these ideas are great to think about when planning new projects.
The same can be said for both of the color trends featured here. Using black-and-white imagery is a distinct choice, as is a super bright color palette at the other end of the spectrum.
We hope these ideas inspire you to try something new with some of your upcoming website design projects.

The Ultimate Guide to Selecting the Best BBQ Dining Establishment
Tumblr media
Barbeque is a precious cooking practice in many parts of the globe, and discovering a wonderful barbeque dining establishment can be an actual reward for food enthusiasts. Whether you're a fan of appetizing pulled pork, great smoky ribs, or succulent brisket, a good barbeque joint can please your yearnings and leave you coming back for more. But with numerous alternatives around, just how do you understand which barbeque restaurant is worth your time and money? In this guide, we'll share some tips on just how to choose the best barbeque restaurant for your following meaningful banquet. Visit this page to find the Best BBQ Near Me.
Among the very first things to consider when seeking an excellent BBQ restaurant is the top quality of the meat they offer. The most effective barbeque locations take satisfaction in sourcing top notch cuts of meat, which can make a huge difference in the taste and inflammation of the last dish. Whether it's pork, beef, chicken, or perhaps tofu for the vegetarians, make sure the dining establishment uses fresh, in your area sourced active ingredients for the most genuine and flavorful barbeque experience.
One more important element to think about is the smoking technique made use of by the barbeque dining establishment. Smoking cigarettes is an essential step in traditional barbeque food preparation and can substantially influence the flavor of the meat. Different timbers, such as hickory, mesquite, or oak, can convey special smoky tastes to the meat. The best barbeque restaurants grasp the art of smoking, using the appropriate timber and smoking strategies to improve the taste of their meals. Be sure to inquire about the smoking cigarettes process when choosing a BBQ area to ensure you obtain that mouthwatering, great smoky flavor you crave.
When picking a BBQ restaurant, do not ignore the sauces and sides. While the meat is the star of the program, scrumptious sauces and well-crafted side recipes can elevate your barbeque experience. Whether you like a pleasant and zesty sauce, a spicy rub, or a vinegar-based marinate, make certain the restaurant supplies a selection of flavors to suit your preference preferences. Furthermore, traditional barbeque sides like coleslaw, mac and cheese, baked beans, and cornbread can match the main dish and complete your dish. Find the Best BBQ Near Me on this website.
Atmosphere and service are additionally important variables to consider when selecting a BBQ restaurant. The best BBQ joints often have a laid-back and inviting atmosphere, with friendly employee that are enthusiastic about their craft. Whether you're eating in or getting takeout, a positive dining experience can make your dish a lot more pleasurable. Try to find a barbeque restaurant that offers terrific service, a comfy setting, and maybe even some real-time songs to improve your eating experience.
To conclude, picking the most effective BBQ restaurant includes thinking about elements like the quality of the meat, cigarette smoking strategies, sauces and sides, setting, and solution. By keeping these ideas in mind, you can discover a BBQ place that will certainly satisfy your cravings and leave you returning for more scrumptious, great smoky benefits. So, proceed and explore your neighborhood barbeque joints to discover your brand-new favorite area for finger-licking excellent barbeque!

Unconventional Strategies for Boosting Organic Reach on..
You’ve likely heard the disheartening news by now – organic reach on Facebook has been declining for years as the platform prioritizes paid content in user feeds. But here’s the thing – there are still ways to boost your organic Facebook reach if you’re willing to get a little unconventional with your strategy.
At Orion Digital, we’ve spent years mastering the art of increasing visibility and engagement for brands on social media without increasing the budget on ads. We’re letting you in on some of our top out-of-the-box tactics for getting your Facebook content in front of more of your ideal audience.
So grab a notepad (or just keep reading) and prepare to be inspired by creative ways to work with the algorithm instead of against it.
Leverage Facebook Groups
Facebook may be deprioritizing brand pages in the news feed, but they remain incredibly high in engaged communities like Facebook Groups. A whopping 1.8 billion people use Facebook Groups every month, according to Facebook’s own.
By creating a Facebook Group for your brand, you essentially build a strong audience of your biggest fans and supporters. Every post, poll, video, or piece of content you share in your Group gets boosted straight to the notifications of all members.
The key is making your Group a rich, vibrant community experience rather than just a content dump for your brand. Encourage discussions, regularly ask engaging questions, and facilitate conversations between members. The more engagement in your Group, the more love Facebook’s algorithm will show you.
Activate Your Employees
Your employees are a vastly underutilized resource for expanding your organic Facebook reach. Chances are, their Facebook friends and followers consist of a lot of people who could be interested in your products or services.
Create a culture where employees feel empowered and even incentivized to share your Facebook content on their profiles. You can make it easy with pre-written monthly email templates sharing new content they can re-share.
The data shows this strategy works – content shared by employees receives 8X more engagement than content shared on brand channels, according to Grapevine Analytics.
Go Big on Video
If you’re not leveraging video on Facebook yet, you’re missing out on a massive engagement opportunity. Videos earn 59% more engagement than other post types on the platform, reports Buffer.
And we’re not just talking about any ole’ videos. For the best organic reach, you’ll want to mix in LIVE videos, which Facebook is known to heavily prioritize in the algorithm. One study by Buzzsumo revealed live videos generate 10x more comments than regular videos!
Look for creative ways to incorporate entertaining Facebook Live sessions like:
Product tutorials or demos
Q&A session with your founder
Behind-the-scenes looks at your company/employees
Interviewing a customer or influencer
Share New Data & Original Research
While Facebook de-prioritizes overtly promotional content from brands, posts highlighting new data, statistics, and original research do well! People crave fresh insights to level up their knowledge.
Is there an aspect of your industry that could use more data or quantified insights? Commission a simple survey or study to capture proprietary data you can share on Facebook. For example, you could survey customers to learn new data on their behaviours, challenges, or needs to be related to your product.
Or if you have internal data you legally can share (with no identifying details), package it up into a cool visual or video to post on Facebook. Just make sure you’re citing your sources and offering real value.
Cross-Pollinate Content
This strategy involves getting a little scrappy in identifying opportunities to cross-promote your Facebook content in other spaces.
For example, if one of your blog posts or YouTube videos happens to gain great organic traction, edit the first few sentences into a Facebook post that teases people to “read more” by clicking a link to the full content. With 49% of consumers preferring to watch videos from Facebook over other platforms, using YouTube as a top-of-funnel feeder into Facebook content works well.
Similarly, when you create an awesome piece of Facebook content that gets lots of engagement, consider sharing it in a few relevant Facebook Groups beyond just your page. Just make sure to add value and follow the Group’s rules!
Get the Inside Scoop on the Algorithm
There are also some not-so-secret “secrets” to getting prioritized by the Facebook algorithm. According to multiple sources, these factors can give your organic reach a boost:
Facilitate Conversations: Long comment threads show engagement, which Facebook loves to see. Ask questions and encourage people to discuss in the comments.
Post at Optimal Times: When are your followers most online? Check your Facebook Insights to see peak times to post.
Give People What They Want: According to Facebook, posting about topics like travel, mind-blowing photography, animals, sports, and parenting helps boost reach.
Use Video Transcription: Facebook automatically transcribes videos which tells the algorithm what your video is about and helps people with accessibility needs consume the content.
The bottom line is that the old-school tactics that are used to boost organic reach on Facebook don’t work like they used to. It’s time to get outside the box in 2024!
