Desires in Geats only have meaning if they truly come from the heart and the only ones that come from the heart come from genuine love and faith which is why Keiwa’s supposedly unselfish wish was so destructive because by being unselfish it could never truly be pure. In turn Keiwa’s new wish is the opposite where you can fight for your true desire but hurting others without acknowledging that choice immediate makes it not from the heart because a heart’s desire makes you connect to others and desire to improve the world in some way and a truly selfish one hurts others.
It’s why Ace did not say Michinaga was wrong for wanting to destroy all Riders bc it was in the end an expression of his true desire (end the suffering of the DGP) he just redirected his anger at the staff who deserved it more. It’s why Neon can have always been fighting for selfish wishes but still always be very caring and kind and “find genuine love” because she understands she has a duty as well.
If Ace had chosen destruction on that day of the Grand End, he would have chosen himself over the love he had for his mother. He chose creation and to let her go and to make a better world BECAUSE his heart’s desire was to free his mother and find answers.

Perhaps this won't sit well with you, but I think I gotta bring this up to you, someone who ACTUALLY acknowledged that Keiwa was in the wrong in ep. 8.
To sum it up, Keiwa was a good boi, but he's not actually an idealist. Just want to point out that idealism (worldview) isn't an inherent part of kindness (action).
He's actually cynical, shown in the very 1st episode, that his speech shows he's bitter regarding life, of how his life is going nowhere, and likely also about how life isn't always going like what he envisions, like there are people not contributing to peace, or screwing over others. Like to other DGP players when they have goals conflicting with his world peace one, lacking understanding of it (including why risking their lives for it), and guilt-tripping them when he's not going to win.
But what keeps him going is Sara, where as he said, he'd work creating a peaceful world so she can be safe there. And anytime his main motivation is put on danger, while it's natural to be protective of her, it also frequently brings his worst side.
And ep. 8 shows that he puts Sara's safety above anything else, including other Rider's wishes to guarantee it by having them act as baits, but after Ace's lecture, he still focuses on saving Sara even if it doesn't immediately defeat the boss, by attacking the tree, and he's ok that he can no longer continue as long as Sara is guaranteed safe.
That time Ace also asks him if he'd care about the world if he and Sara can be safe and happy together… and Keiwa had no response. In ep. 41 it's shown that world peace doesn't matter to him if Sara is gone. With Sara gone, as Bujin Sword he has less qualms being ruthless and creating bloodshed to achieve what he wants as Sara isn't a potential crossfire victim in this conflict.
This might be sad, but sometimes characters aren't archetypes that can only be fixed as one thing, but they're individuals that has various outcomes, including having a mix of positive and negative development.
Hmm... I don't necessarily see Keiwa being unhappy about his prospects at the beginning of the show as him being a cynic. Being upset about the reality of things doesn't mean that he no longer wants to do things by his own ideals. It just means that he's confronted by how difficult it is to actually execute in practice.
What I think is that people mistakenly assume that Keiwa's idealism has always been purely motivated by selflessness. The desire itself (i.e. his wish for a peaceful world/a world where the DGP victims were revived) is idealistic, and I do think part of it is Keiwa genuinely just wanting a better world for everyone. However, he also wants that ideal world because of Sara, especially after the reveal of how their parents really died.
His priorities shifted towards protecting her as the show goes on and she gets exposed to more and more danger. As he told Ace, while working for the greater good (i.e. making his wish of reviving the DGP victims) is still worthwhile, they also had to protect what they had left. And Sara was all he had left.
So when he lost her, he also lost a large part of the motivation he had towards his ideals.
It also doesn't help that Keiwa constantly has his altruism go unreciprocated (like Ace fooling him into giving up the Boost Buckle) or mocked ("bleeding heart Tycoon") or twisted by those he trusted (like Kekera). Even his idealistic wish to revive all the DGP victims ended up just being used against him anyway.
So yeah it's not really surprising he really went off the deep end now.

I Promise this will be toku related.
When you realize that "they aren't close friends" isn't a good defense for someone in the know of everything to essentially abandon someone.
youtube
Context here is essential, the scene above is from a show called Chicago Fire. The guy in the beginning just lost his wife and everything from a fire.
They were about to start something new in the city of Chicago but that all went up in smoke as soon as his wife was killed. He's heartbroken, and devastated.
Guess who went ahead and attended the wife's funeral rites with the grieving husband? Firehouse 51, literal strangers as relative to the grieving husband.
Sure, they were the ones who responded to the fire that killed his wife, but they were still literal strangers to each other.
And they had the time to show up and support the grieving husband as he attended his wife's funeral rites.
Note that they're all off-duty here.
Here's another.
youtube
Context: A kid they rescued died.
They showed support to the grieving mother by doing what was seen on the video even as snow was pouring.
How come these people, literal strangers to the grieving person, were able to show support to them while Ace and Neon couldn't?
Does that mean Ace and Neon aren't better people? They abandoned Keiwa to wallow in grief.
It would have been understandable if Ace talked about worrying for Keiwa after the latter essentially kicked him out of the apartment but as it stands to reason, canon made it seem like Keiwa made it to his apartment after he sobbed his heart out in the wake of his sister's death.
A common defense I see is how Neon wanted to be a Rider so she sought out her father asking if he can make her a Rider, but couldn't she have done that a little later?
Another common defense I see is how Ace isn't good friends with Keiwa who was always victim blaming his mother.
But there's scenes of strangers supporting strangers in their times of need totally contradicting their notion that "they should be good friends for Ace to support Keiwa."
Does that mean Ace and Neon aren't good people? Does that mean Ace and Neon are better people?
Don't misunderstand this post as demonizing the both of them just because I painted them in a bad light.
Also no one here is claiming that had Ace and Neon visited Keiwa in his time of need, Keiwa wouldn't have kidnapped Tsumuri, there's no way to tell because we didn't see that in canon.

Why you should love Azuma Michinaga!
Actually Im not trying to convice anyone to like him. In fact if you hate him... go away plz XD... or if you want to read what I have to say... stay. OwO
I also im doing this because there’s a lot of unjustified hate towards him, that makes me wonder if we have watched the same show.
This is just my feelings about Michi... because it have been an experience to like him. He’s definitely not the type of character that I usually love, but here I’m loving him a lot. Shipping aside he’s definitely the best character in Geats for me. I will not cover shipping preferences in this because that could be another topic XD and you know... let’s be real, no matter who your fav ship in Geats is, it will never be canon. If Geats production team is pushing the AzuAce agenda is just marketing, they know very well that sells (and Im buying it XD).
I will also counter the usually speech of people that hate him: He’s evil, he kills people, he dont deserve redemtion arc... etc, etc... Excuse me? Have you pay attention to the show? Or we have not watched the same show?
So... let’s go to see why you should love Michinaga as much as Ace does:
Tumblr media
Those that knows me or know this blog... know already that I hated 01! I was prepared to hate Geats the same way that I hated 01 just because Yuuya Takahashi (the main writer). I didnt expect to enjoy this series as much as I do now. Moreless to love a character as Michinaga: A tsundere boy, self centered with anger problems, revenge and the desire to crush all Kamen Riders. The boy sound exactly like everything that I could hate. X,D
Michinaga was my fav from Geats pressconference... why? because he looked like a Kamen Rider Blade character... in fact he looked like the combination of Kenzaki and Hajime. (and I still have my head canon that Michi is their son X,D But that’s for another post X,D).
Tumblr media
So yeah my like for him in the beggining was just something totally unrelated to the show. Was just his looks. I didnt care at all for him in the first episodes... in fact I didnt care for anyone in the show. Nor Ace, Neon, or even Keiwa seems like good people to the heart in the beggining. Entering this DGP to fulfill their dreams and go with it without really asking why? how? and when? Ofc, this is what this story is about, specially with a main protagonist that we know nothing about.
Michinaga was an average character (may be annoying yes) till the moment he die in early episodes (ep 15 I believe), the scene of him dying in Ace arms was really significant, specially because is the first time we see the boy being true with his words, saying to Ace: Give me a reason to believe on you. before pass out.
Tumblr media
Before the episode, every interaction of Michinaga and Ace have been interesting... because indirectly Ace have been advising him, with words: if you dont give up the chance to win will came. Surely... in those episodes Ace didnt see Michinaga as a rival at all... may be just like an annoying lad. But everything change when he returned from the dead. And this is where Michanaga character turn to get interesting for saying the least.
Tumblr media
This point is where Michinaga turns into what we call an antihero. He returns from dead to know the other side of the coin of the DGP. He was almost killed by Niram. He was picked up by Beroba like a playing toy without escape from the womans hand (she literaly says: join me or I kill you right here). Michinaga was pushed between the sword or the wall, something that haters tends to forget, he had no option to join to Beroba’s side (he didnt enjoy any of that).
I was totally amazed by Michinaga’s guts. The boy survived Niram deadly attack, like an annoying insect that wanted to survive. Then Michinaga state: FUCKS the DGP. He stated he wanted to crush the DGP now that he knows more than the facade. And I was: GO KING, TOTALLY DO IT, even if it destroys you!! TTATT
I became a fan of Michinaga’s guts. It was the begining of the arc 2 of the series, and I was annoyed that the series totally forgot about the mistery of the DGP and Ace and the others decided to go along with all the DGP rules. So I was all go Michi go Michi, even if he looks like he was suffering because the buckle. TTATT
Tumblr media
In this point we could say that Michinaga changed. Even his primary objective of revenge changed. And I was puzzled like Ace was XD because I truly didnt know what to expect from Michi. He was bad?! What he wanted to do? What the fuck is he thinking? Why he didnt join forces with Ace and others?. Deep down inside I wanted to believe that Michi was a good person even if he was converting in a Jyamato, because he didn't enjoy any of it, he didn't laugh, he didn't smile, he even had to overcome the shadow of his friend, and he did in the most cold way possible.
We could safely say that Michi fighted to the top of his position to be consider Geats rival. I believe that by the end of the JGP, Ace totally considered Michi his equall, his rival. It’s character development at his finest.
Now, since the bullgame that Beroba trampled (because she always got in the way of the true intentions of Michinaga, but he go along with her just for reach his objective) we start to know that Michinaga is not all EVIL, he even did the Bullgame for stop the casualities. And everything starts to fit together like a puzzle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Michinaga became the biggest hypocrite, he won even if costed him everything. And now he has the power that he wished for (and is using it for good, even Ace knows, thanks sukiyaki scene of ep36) and to this point he have joined sides with Ace to get down the DGP. I truly LOVE IT. Michiniga embodies what a Kamen Rider is to it’s core: fight evil with the power of evil.
About Michinaga being the biggest hypocrite, I just have to say that there’s no better thing than a hypocrite that knows that is hypocrite. You know... everyone in Geats is a hypocrite to a degree, even the goodest boy Keiwa, after all Geats goes by the premise: trample on the desires of others to achieve your desires.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That Michinaga don’t deserve redemption? Why? The boy havent been bad and evil, he didnt have any option than join Beroba’s side, he didnt kill people, and all the people that died in the heaven or hell game was casualities, like any other DGP game before it. Kamen Riders couldn’t save all the people in the DGP games, there have always been people that died (like Keiwa’s parents for example). The better that our Kamen Riders could do now is to get down the DGP, Ace and Michi knows... and its only matter of time that Keiwa joins them.
Now I could truly say that I’m enjoying Geats and all it’s cast. We still have time for the power ups and for all the boys and girl to act as true Kamen Riders.
It’s a shame that Geats is not the best, but is not the worse either. I’m aware of it’s faults, may be there have been too much focus on Michi (and haters gona hate X,D)... but come on he’s great, and it’s obvious that his spotlight will have to tone down this last part.
Now there’s a lot of tiny details to say about Ace and the others (Keiwa, Neon) and also about the production, but probably I will write about it till Geats ends. We still have the last quarter to watch, there’s still things to happen. So I will wait till the end.
Thank you if you have read till here. Let’s all love Michi, because he’s more than a tsundere boy with anger problems. He’s a good boy to the heart, he’s a good little bull! U3U And like Ace, Keiwa and Neon... he deserves to be happy and smile from the bottom of his heart. TTATT

Title: The Star of the Stars of the Stars and His Co-Stars

Fandom: Kamen Rider Geats

Word Count: 2,124
Tags: Post-Canon, Polyamory, Established Relationship, Coming Out, Everything is Beautiful and Nothing Hurts
With a little bit of discussion, they all agreed: it was more practical and more pragmatic to show off their relationship as it truly was than to keep it secret. If they wanted peace and privacy, then there couldn’t be any room for speculation and besides. It was quite exciting getting a glimpse of inside Ace’s head and how he came up with his schemes.
However, that did come with the shake-up that since Ace’s pawns partners knew what was going on, they had the ability to derail it but he trusted that none of them would put a foot wrong. Neon, especially, used to walking in high heels and bless them but Keiwa and Michinaga did clean up very nicely. Even if it did seem wrong somehow to see them in tuxedos.
The where, when, and how of the scheme was too easy. Ace was still appearing in movies playing his usual, handsome self more so than an actual fictional character. The others, meanwhile, were finding it a bit hard to find jobs given the clamour around them. For better or for worse, if they were used to it or not.
There was a small hope in Ace’s heart that this would be a hard reset. Not so hard like the remodellings of the world after the events of a successful Desire Grand Prix royale but akin. There’d be a fresh start with the records set straight and it would all be as easy as getting out of a limousine. One by one, slowly easing the wider public into knowing how much they wanted them to know.
And so, another movie premier night with beautiful dresses and handsome tuxedos, with more stars on the ground than in the sky came around on the calendar. The sky was black above the red carpet and to every side, the silver flash of a camera going off as some people did their jobs and others got to be fans.
At the height of the red carpet, after a drive from Ace’s apartment to the movie theatre, the limousine pulled up and it was go-time. No reruns this time.
Ace, of course, exited the limousine first. He smiled for the cameras, was utterly unfazed as the paparazzi and the news reporters dazzled him. The red carpet underfoot rolled on for what seemed like forever up unto the premier theatre’s doors.
After this moment of repose, so all the good angles could be shot, Ace turned around and he offered his hand to Neon.
It made sense that Neon would be the first to exit the limousine after Ace. Either Keiwa or Michinaga next would have been too shocking. Especially since the public consciousness, whilst having a lot of conflicting memories due to all the remodellings the world had gone, to did and did not recall Ace and Neon becoming friendly with one another as celebrity spheres colliding. So there was a little bit of shipping going on, a few ears pricked up and eyes were certainly going wide as Ace unveiled Neon.
She was wearing a darling, yellow cocktail dress paired with white kitten heels because she couldn’t resist a cat motif. She was giggly and smiley and giddy for the cameras. It was good to see her adored by the general public. The modern day human was not quite so ready for the designer humans of the future but with Keiwa’s wish granted and the GPG gone bust, they had become the norm. Thus allowing Neon to return to her rightful place as Japan’s sweetheart streamer.
Ace leaned in and Neon looked up at him with her big brown eyes, fluttering her eyelashes. She smiled and so did Ace as he pecked the middle of her forehead. She blushed just slightly, though there was a semblance to a cringe as all the crowd went wild.
Neon lavished in praise but it was really only genuine praise or affection that she so craved. Regardless, she was quite pampered to be Ace’s one and only girlfriend. However, she was not his one and only partner, more than happy to share with their other dearest ones. Though her wish was not granted, it had come true. Neon was now a girl with more genuine love than she knew what to do with sometimes and she wanted to give the world just a small peek at that. She waited, shifting her weight from one foot to the other before Ace gave her a signal for her to stand down.
As the fanfare faded, it was expected that Ace and Neon would walk up the red carpet together and that their valet would mosey on so the next celebrity - or celebrity couple - could arrive but not quite. Ace nodded ever so slightly and that movement caught Neon’s eyes and so, she politely stood aside. All whilst holding nervously onto her clutch as Ace moved around her so he could approach the limousine for a second time.
Ace put out his hand and the paparazzi was momentarily confused when another hand popped out to clasp firmly onto Ace’s. Keiwa’s hand was shaking in a lead inside of Ace’s but Ace was steady. Strong. And pulled Keiwa onto his feet.
Though that was all but immediately clumsy. He stumbled onto the red carpet - thank goodness he wasn’t wearing kitten heels or that would have been a face-plant for sure - and gawked at the cameras gawking for him. He was the hero of the world. The saviour who had brought world peace and the dead back to life and all the memories that came with it.
But he was still a boy from a soba shop. This whole world of fame and stardom was very much not his speed.
“Your tie is crooked.” Ace pointed out, his voice a whisper. “Here, I’ll fix it.”
   “Th-Thank you.” Keiwa croaked.
Ace smiled his trademark fox smile. It was sweet, it was enigmatic, and he was very nimble as he straightened Keiwa’s forest green tie.
“There you go.” Ace said and for additional effect, brushed imaginary fluff and dust off the shoulders of Keiwa’s suit. Even though it was tailor made for him, tailor made was not made for Keiwa.  He still looked good in it, if Ace did say so himself.
“Appreciated.” Keiwa replied, a rose in either cheek and just to make sure Keiwa knew how cute he looked with a bit of colour, Ace pressed a kiss on either side of his face.
“Aah, stop it, you only kissed Neon’s forehead.” Keiwa complained.
“I need it to be crystal clear.” Ace whispered as he leaned out and began to take stock of the reactions.
Where Keiwa saw perhaps too much in too big an image, Ace saw all the nuance and micro-expressions. The tiny things that added up much more importantly.
“Aww, I want to kiss Keiwa too. He has no skincare routine yet his face is baby soft.” Neon complained.
“Do as you please.” Ace said.
   “Yay.” Neon chirped.
“Don’t I get a say?” Keiwa piped up.
“Nope.” Neon teased as she tacked herself onto his side, trying to pull him down for a kiss.
The playful antics perfect for the press and the ensuing photographs, Ace was sure. He might even have to buy any particularly flattering ones for himself, that sounded both endearing and amusing, he decided. In the meantime, he continued to scan the photographers and he was coming to a conclusion that he wasn’t fully expecting.
They were perfectly alright with it. Sure, not the perfect, model couple they were expecting but the star of the star of the star, the hero who granted the world its world peace, and the fabricated girl who streamed her daily life seemed a good match, right?
And that was it, right? No more surprises from the world’s favourite Kamen Riders, right?
That seemed to be the press was asking amongst themselves but there was a sense of hesitancy. As though they knew these sorts of things didn’t come in threes. An intuition made good on when, after this moment of lovers bantering,  Keiwa then took a step back and more properly joined Neon to the side. Neon was quite cuddly and bubbly with Keiwa who didn’t mind one bit. Her relaxed nature helped calm his own red carpet nerves as he smiled and turned his head expectantly. All for Ace to quietly to beckon forth the… fourth person in the limousine.
Michinaga glared from inside the plush interior of the limousine. He’d been sitting on the far side and had a half-melted bucket of ice and champagne at his feet. Ace prompted him with one last unfurling of his elegant hand to offer but Michinaga didn’t take it.
It would have been nice if Michinaga had played along with this little increment of Ace’s plan but no matter. That was, if anything, to be expected of the bull.
He emerged from inside the limousine and the crowd went silent. Keiwa, hero of the world and all-round nice-natured boy, was a very tough act for Michinaga to follow. Ace was stony-faced as he observed their surroundings.
Meanwhile, Michinaga was once again giving his best bad boy impression as he stomped about in his Beroba borrowed Doc Martens because why give up a good thing from a bad place? He stomped up to Neon and Keiwa who were waiting at the wings for him. Neon gave him her best, shiniest smile and Keiwa gave him the thumbs up.
   “Looking good.” Keiwa commented.
   “Thanks.” Michinaga mumbled.
Neon, meanwhile, like Ace, was attuned to what was going on around them. All of a sudden, there was a shift in atmosphere. She knew that neither she nor the other two had to say a word. Ace said he had the perfect plan to smoothen over Michinaga’s image. They didn’t need to know he was secretly a precious bed hog schnookums behind the scenes. Though he would deny it, covered in all their doona as he may be but they did need to know that he was important to them. Had been before but especially now that peace had been accomplished for all and he was a part of that all.
With this sudden breath sucked out of the bodies of the press, Ace took that as his cue whilst his partners remained firm. This was always the most delicate aspect of his plan and their private operations.
Without even needing to check for charisma and journalism, Ace had already picked a camera and reporter to talk at, not to, there was a difference, in advance and smiled for the recording. He had it all figured out, to the last period.
“You may be surprised to see Buffa - ah, er, Michinaga but he is quite a different man without his horns. It appears the lone buffalo has found his herd. We were always rivals, yes, we were even rivals with both Keiwa and Neon but we were a team. It feels good to have our partnership not only restored but renewed.” Ace said.
He was very pleased with that statement that he had penned up in advance. He could already imagine a select sentence or two given premier font and space within the celebrity gossip article to follow in this recording crew’s magazine. He smiled and he rejoined his awaiting partners.
(Though, if he was the star of star of stars, then it was likely thematically appropriate to call them his co-stars, too.)
Neon, with a grin, positioned herself between Ace and Keiwa, she linked arms with them both and leaned around, flirtatious, to tease Michinaga. Michinaga, grunted, nostrils flared for half a second, but relented. Fine. If he had to hold hands with Ace, so be it.
Now that was not in Ace’s plan. He was quite fine with showing the arrangement of they, the final four Kamen Riders ever with surviving ID cores, as it were but this was a nice surprise. Michinaga could be capable of them once a blue moon, it seemed, though he likely was not going to be making breakfast in bed for any of them any time soon but still.
As a quartet, they all took a step down the red carpet and their valet drove off. The cavalcade of silver, flashing lights looked like stars in the darkness as they were the centre of it. Of the world, of the attention. It felt good. There was a weight off, almost, especially with it done on their own terms.
And then, all four of them walked down the aisle.
Well, the red carpet but the aisle could very well be next for them, or so Ace would like to plan ahead.

Hello, this is like... months late but you were one of the only English KeiwaxAce writers I actually liked and seeing that you've dropped the series is devastating (but understandable, they've been ruining Keiwa since Bullfighting Game and I'm devastated, on the edge of my seat and have a lot words/feelings about it too). Could I ask what was your turning point for the series? Or, I guess, what was the straw that broke your back.
If you don't feel like it, that's fine too. Thank you for sharing your Geats fics at the start of the series.
(Anonymous cuz i'm shy af but mostly because haven't used tumblr in years how does this website even work anymore help-)
firstly, this is an incredibly kind thing to say about my writing, and i appreciate it a lot! i kind of miss being that inspired — like including the ex-aid crossover i wrote, seven things??? that's impressive, actually, go me. the first 16 episodes of geats provided a lot for me to be inspired by, i guess. (i think my heart's always going to do something when i think about the phrase "the tycoon i know", tbh.)
the last straw... well, for one thing, the lack of keiwa focus after episode 19 did bug me, because he was my favorite character and i liked seeing him. people say "oh he got focus during the first dgp" but i don't think that's really the case; i went more into this on my personal twitter account, but him being the audience surrogate for the first arc doesn't mean he's the focus of those episodes. like 1-2 are establishing ace, 3-4 are establishing neon, 5-6 are establishing buffa, and then it's only 7-8 that keiwa gets focus... and he's eliminated. at the beginning of the next dgp, he's not even a contestant, he's just a device used to show the fact that being eliminated without dying gets rid of why you wished for what you wished for. it's not until episode 12 that he's even back.
now, i thought the direction they were going with him — he still wants world peace, but in a more realistic way, wanting to bring all the dead contestants back — was really good, too. and i liked him and neon both developing into characters who could trick ace by the time episode 16 comes around! (i actually still have a kace wip that i might finish someday for the sake of finishing it that takes place between episodes 16 and 17, sorta; like, i have 5k of it written and all it needs is the smut that sure is a part of it, so i might go back to it eventually? who knows.)
and thennnnn the dezastar arc starts, as does the decline in keiwa's writing.
i don't mind characters being comic relief now and then, but having a previously-serious character relegated to just comic relief doesn't sit well with me. 19 was a great episode for keiwa, and that conversation with ace he had over dinner made me lose my shit, and i foolishly thought that maybe they'd take him seriously from there on out.
but, no, they sidelined him. for 12 weeks. waiting for my favorite character to have proper focus episode for 3 straight months really bugged me, tbh, though i didn't say anything for fear of stirring the pot. and we finally get to episode 31 and he gets kicked into a pit. this made me really upset.
the fan reaction to this also didn't do me any favors; i was pissed at buffa (the character, not the actor — i do not care about mokudai kazuto in any direction, though i was accused of hating on him, which was fun) for the whole pit-kicking thing and made this clear, which i realize in retrospect was a mistake, because all of a sudden being a fan of keiwa was not the move. (and fwiw, i don't want to hate buffa; i just get a way with characters who hurt characters i love. i'm the same way about him that i am about kylo ren and sangwoo from squid game, and i do not like this trait about myself.) it reminded me of a bunch of shitty experiences i had in a toxic fandom in 2020 and 2021 that sunk me into a deep depression that it took a long time (and the existence of kamen rider revice, which a lot of geats fans abhor and make clear that they abhor, which also didn't help) for me to get out of. that's when i stopped watching geats live, at least. (i also want to state that this had nothing to do with any ship i like, not even kace. apparently people have this idea that kace enjoyers are really angry folks and it's just like... no? this isn't a popular pairing. nobody is going to get mad at you if you don't like it.)
neon's writing during this time also made me angry; i do not like any of the sponsors at all, and neon's character development coming from a man — and a man who is a toxic fan of hers, at that — didn't sit well with me. on the topic of sponsors, jean felt like forced ace shipping bait, and i didn't like his character much, either. (which also makes me feel bad, since i know the actor's such a huge fan.) it was actually him coming back, as well as punkjack's return (by all means i should adore punkjack, because am i ever a sucker for a flop musician, but nothing about his character has ever worked for me — especially since he unnecessarily flirts with tsumuri and clearly makes her uncomfortable in a setting where she can't complain about this, which, ew), that made me drop geats entirely.
the direction the writing is going right now is also not good. the misogyny of fridging sara and damsel-ing tsumuri, the way they've completely fucked up keiwa's character, it's so frustrating — i honestly want to move zero one up on my toku list for this year so that i can see if ex-aid, which famously gave me a disease, was some kind of fluke. hell, in ex-aid, we have a character who acts illogically because of his grief, and those episodes are perfect to me. doing this with keiwa 40something episodes in doesn't hit the same.
buffa's storyline was supposed to be something similar, i know, but that never worked for me either. much like punkjack, it should have. but his non-reaction to the toru jamato's death when toru's death and his anger over it is supposed to be his entire character motivation... didn't make me feel like hiiro did. his rivalry with ace is also no kaito/kouta. it feels like geats is trying to do a lot of things that worked in gaim without understanding why those things worked in gaim. (and i do hate to be an annoying gaim stan, but... come on, geats.)
maybe i'm missing something because i'm not watching every week, or maybe i just have bad taste, but all of these things piling up makes me want to have nothing to do with geats at all anymore. i've actually considered orphaning all my geats fic in frustration, but i've decided against it because that would mean interacting with my geats fics again. it wouldn't provide catharsis. i'm just done.
so tl;dr: around the dezastar arc i became frustrated with keiwa getting sidelined, the fan reaction to episode 31 as well as its contents brought up bad memories and made me stop watching live, and the return of two characters i just don't see the appeal of made me drop the series entirely.

I will be very honest... I'm just so used to referring to "characters" as "cast" so I was kinda surprised you gave headcanons to the actors themselves instead of the characters they play as...
I actually meant the characters XD but those headcanons are dope too XD
Ohhhh!!! I actually really had to rack my brains for those headcanons cause I rarely think of the cast for headcanons...
But yes I do have a lot of headcanons for the characters! These are just a few.
Ukiyo Ace
I think at one point Ace did give up on looking for his real mother and just tried to live a life with the current family he had. but because of constant loss of family, he stopped himself from getting attached to them.
Ace cares a lot, he really worries about the good people he comes across but still manages the distance because he doesn't want any pain.
Ace avoids fighting other riders as much as he can, unless he's sure they are pure scum, even then he will only get them eliminated and not killed.
I believe that the reason he had been on the scene where Tohru died was cause he was just a little late to come and save him. And telling Michinaga to forget was him genuinely wishing that Michinaga would be able to get over it.
He probably already sensed that something was up with Neon.. and that's why he took her under him to help her out when he could.
He was fine with Michinaga blaming and hating on him for Tohru's death because he partly blames himself too since he failed to save him.
He is very weak to genuine affection, not necessarily loving words and stuff but just acceptance. (His genuine shocked smile in the scene where Keiwa doesn't ask more of Ace after knowing his secret lives rent free in my mind)
He probably hasn't had any real friends or partners for ages and is still somewhat a child at heart.
Michinaga
He had to have known Ace was not to blame from the start but still used him to take out his anger
I think he did feel guilt and hesitance when he was working with beroba but he constantly shut that down.
If that geats thing hadn't happened, he would have been a closeted Ace fan or a casual fan.
I think he would have been good friends with Keiwa too, since him and Tohru seems slightly similar.
If they weren't Kamen Riders, he would be a reluctant friend of Neon too, or treat her like a little sister if they get very close.
Rolls his eyes 90% of the time.
Has lost faith in people but desperately wishes he could have it again. Wants to believe in others but his pain overpowers that need to trust.
Neon
If her mother hadn't actually isolated Neon, neon wouldn't have wanted to run away from home.
She did love her mother a lot but wasn't blind to the wrongdoings.
She would have been a daddy's princess if her father wasn't a fucking asshole and did his job right.
She's a lot more sassy than she looks.
Prefers women over men any day. (In general)
The type of friend your parents would love more than you. (ask Keiwa, it's true)
The reason she fails in her runaway attempts is cause she's actually emotionally attached to the bodygaurds and her family and she doesn't really want to get away. She just wants to be loved right and it's a cry for help
Keiwa
Was probably an average student with little extra positives.
We know he had a ninja addiction phase.
He has good intentions but is ignorant to a lot of things which stops him from getting a proper perspective on how to work things.
Would probably be great at following orders as long as he agrees with the morality of someone.
He definitely started eating Tanuki Soba as a way to lessen the burden on his sister after their parents died. But came to love it soon after.
He's very optimistic so he will find good in everyone but once his trust is broken broken and he doesn't believe you are a good person? It's nearly impossible to switch that trust back on.
He's honest to a fault so he believes the others to be the same. He will see what you want to show him and believe it until you yourself show him differently.

Special Program
New Generation Stars: Z recalls his battle with Barabas alongside Ace,.and finally triggers his own data in the Dimensionizer.
Geats: Due to the current situation the DGP air a special presentation hosted by Samas and Niram, with the participants also watching in their sponsor rooms, Kyuun only communicating with Neon via note, each sponsor explains why they chose their players, Jean relating how he saw Ace, a high schooler at the time, fight Jamato, and he see a taste of Ace's first DGP, which doesn't look that long ago, Heisei, maybe late Showa. Kekera confirms to Keiwa the DGP has been played in past eras and future eras. Beroba hacks the broadcast, explaining the noble history of the Jamato, created for the DGP, and declares the Jamato Grand Prix, with the Jamato that gets Niram's Vision Driver creating their ideal world, and unleashes them on the city while telling Michinaga why she was drawn to him. Tsumuri reclaims the broadcast and announces the attack, the Riders go despite no official round being declared. As they fight, Jean comes in person to watch, Beroba mocking him. As they prepare to fight, two others turn up, Kekera in human form, and Kyuun, revealed as the man who approached Neon a couple of episodes ago. All four Sponsors take Riser form and start battling amongst themselves, Kyuun and Kekera's forms are more bestial. Niram intends to adapt to the current circumstances, pitting the DGP against the JGP.
Donbrothers: Haruka has won the Japan Manga Award for her new manga, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, her friends and teammates in attendance. All save the manga's star, Momoi Taro. Earlier, Taro found himself not remembering customers, and goes to Haruka asking if she regrets the Donbrothers, only to learn now she truly doesn't, Saruhara says much the same. Sonogo goes on her ego stroke about beauty to a hooded figure, who reveals herself as Sonona, and has no patience for her ego boosting, and informs her she's going to die, Sonoroku runs into the other, Sonoya. They steal their prey's armoured forms, and cut them down. Natsumii makes clear she doesn't feel she can trust Inuzaka anymore, as he won't tell her anything, and leaves as Taro comes over, unable to recognise Natsumii, Inuzaka saying that despite it all he still enjoys being with the team, at which point Murasame appears and decides to fly off, Taro goes to Kijino, who says much the same. Sonoshi attacks a wedding, but is approached by Sonona and Sonoya, and flees in terror, as Sonoya decides to try and use Murasame as it flies past. The Donbrothers question Kaito on Taro's behaviour, as he is brought to the cell to have onigiri with Jin, and learn his memories are being reset. With the Noto joining the team and his successor, Jiro, having matured, he is meant to rest now, as we see Taro cannot recognise his father, before vanishing. Taro tells Sonoi he is forgetting his friends, Sonoi is distraught, but agrees to help on his Oden invitation. Sonoshi, desperate, runs into Sononi and Sonoza, only to be cut down by Sonoya with Murasame. At the Oden cart, Jiro is out of the loop as it's clear Taro's knowledge of the others is fading fast, with Sonoi's help he gives some nice words, but then manages to forget Sonoi mid meal. When Sononi calls he goes to help them, refusing to let the executioners disturb Taro's last moments with his friends, as Taro leaves, his allies sadly seeing him go. As the Donbrothers join the battle, and Murasame decides he would rather fight with the Noto and Donbrothers, Momoi Taro finds himself at Café Donbura, where Kaito presents him with the manuscript for Avataro Sentai Donbrothers. Just as things seem hopeless, Don Momotaro, his heart stirred by the manga, arrives, and for the first time all 10 Donbrothers Role Call together, before Taro overcharges the Zanglass Sword and cuts down Sonona and Sonoya in a single stroke, with no sign left of him. Inuzaka and Sononi are now pursued together by the police, Natsumii asks Kijino if he wants to continue the dream together, Saruhara composes a haiku for Taro, perhaps abandoning some of his wabisabi, and months later, at the awards, Haruka has her friends join her on stage. One night, as Haruka and Sonoza are continuing work, a courier arrives with a package, and notes that they've made a bond .

kamen rider geats episode 8-10
finally getting caught up, here are my thoughts
overall i enjoyed the episodes more than i anticipated, but i still don’t particularly care for the series.
i like how keiwa’s main buckle kind of lines up with his mindset/world view. i can see how this also applies to michinaga in a way (with his line towards the end of episode 9), but not with ace or neon
ace says "the shinobi buckle must have resonated with keiwa" which is why it flew away, despite the boost buckle being the only known semi-sentient buckle. sure, maybe they're all sentient, but it's never been brought up before, only that certain buckles work better with certain ID cores. maybe it will happen again, if it does, fair enough, if it doesn't, well than this is kind of BS.
maybe i’m misunderstanding, but since the jamato killed keiwa and sara’s parents, that means their parents were participants in the game given i belice ace said “if you do in the game, you die in real life.” but this doesn’t apply to non-participants as we saw the soba shop owner in episode 2 and the baby in episode 9/10 revive after the world reset. also, i looked like both of them were wearing driver belts, the mom even looked like she was holding it as she fell.
episode 9 was probably my least favorite of the 3 (and over all tbh).
i like the scenes between michinaga and tooru, they're very eerie. i wonder if it's something that will be expanded on later.
the ending between michinaga and ace was very interesting, it almost felt.. amicable? the way michinaga kind of smiled at ace as he was retired...
episode 10 was probably my favorite
i liked the opening with ace, tsumuri, and girori having breakfast together, i was funny and cute
i also like the small detail of giving tsumuri two different slippers to match her regular two different shoes
i don't know if i ever actually posted it, but i do think ace's wish, while bizarre, does make a bit of sense given tsumuri and girori are probably the only people who have been consistent in his life while everyone else has come and gone (either by dying or no longer being a participant in the DGP)
i love punkjack/win. i think this show needed someone more light-hearted. although, i think his character can be that way because he doesn't have as much stake in the game comparatively and it helps facilitate this facade he's putting on to take down ace.
in the beginning i'd be onboard with someone taking down ace, but im kind of sad. like, sure, ace isn't the most pleasant guy and a complete ass sometimes, but i feel like he's just going through some things.
i don't care for how they brought neon back. first off, it's just fodder for ace, but the more pressing thing for me is how girori can just add players as he pleases. this is probably how keiwa will be brought back, despite technically loosing his qualifications.
it's interesting they introduced her to michinaga's team, i feel like it'd have more impact/shock value if she was introduced to ace's team.
between all three episodes, i have to say what makes me dislike the series the most is how a lot of things that happen feel like they happen out of plot connivence. and in a way, i feel like that's just the nature of the game, but i don't find it fun to watch.
there are some characters i like, i am intrigued by the DGP, but i'll probably not be watching on a week to week basis

Ohhhhhhhhh, shiiiiiiiiit! Here comes Keiwa-kun, Tycoon! The Tanuki Ninja!
Don't you dare lose Kick the Can, Riders!
-Congrats Keiwa, you're still a finalist!
-Oh yeah, we're super close to... all dying, huh?
-That's tragic, huh?
-Sara!
-Ohhhh, she's in real deep shit.
-God, it keeps throwing me off that the real first verse of Trust Last is "Open up the dungeon" and not "Overrun the dungeon". Not that I hate the real one or anything, it just keeps fucking me up for some reason lmao
-Here comes Neon, lookin' for a field goal!
-BONK
-That earned you 500 points with Ace, Neon.
-I wonder how many attempts she made already.
-Oh, they just had a bed in there, huh?
-Final boss time!
-"Dude, what? You're gonna die fighting the boss like that."
-Daaaaaaamn, even Tsumuri sees you're fucked up man.
-Usually a Rider game master just... makes you do it anyway.
-"I'll kick your ass, fox man!"
-"Mmmm... if you say so, bull boy."
-Man, Keiwa's been kicking ass with Armed Arrow this whole time. Taira's words must've really stuck with him.
-Ohhhhhhh... she saw something.
-Ohhh... those're their parents, aren't they?
-Ohh.... shiiiit...
-Those fuckers.
-Gotta play the game.
-The Jyamato.
-Man, Azuma's being a bit of a scrub rn.
-The Final Boss!
-Man... Keiwa's really gone through the wringer.
-Ace... you're really old, huh?
-Proper co-op play!
-...not gonna happen today, either.
-Want the world you wish for, huh Neon?
-You see Keiwa and his sister... and then immediately show us the true love wish, huh Takahashi?
-More than anything, Neon wants family that loves and respects her. Hardly an incomprehensible thing to value so strongly.
-Even Michinaga's got a full reason.
-Ace coming out with the hard questions.
-You want it, you fight for it.
-He's so cool...
-Giroli... what's your deal, butler man?
-Jyamato Approaching.
-Ohhhh, he really big now.
-Kick the fuckin' can.
-Keiwa still got Boost helpin'!
-Go for it, Keiwa!
-Last Boss! Over here!
-Seems like the Tanuki found his balls.
-Too nice for his own good!
-Ohhhhh, the Ninja said no.
-Dare ja?
-Ore ja!
-Ninja!
-Shinobi kenzan!
-Time to Ninja!
-Sara's just absolutely beaming with pride up there.
-Goddamn, this is such a cool-ass form.
-Ninja AND Boost!
-God, so cool.
-Fuck, I wanna play with that Ninja Dueller so bad.
-Ninja Boost! Grand Victory!
-Let's goooooooo!
-Damn, Neon got the last kick.
-Ok bye Boost.
-She's safe.
-Ninja :)
-Nooooo... Eliminated... :(
-G.G., Keiwa.
-He's lyin' about how much he misses you.
-I suppose his victory was a little short lived.
-Retired!
-You're a real ray of sunshine, huh Michinaga?
-I love how threatening Ace's words of comfort are.
-I wonder if Keiwa touched his heart a little?
-Next Episode: Our last three Riders give that overgrown Knight beast what for!
-And... Monster Form!
-I... uh... kinda wanna know what the fuck that thing even does, it looks ridiculous and I love it.
-I'll miss Keiwa though. ...for about that episode, then he'll be right back in Episode 9 or 10!

Geats cast react... to Premium Kekera vs Kamen Rider Kekera (Sugardaddy Kekera)...
KRK: You are a disgrace to us supporters, we are supposed to support them!
PK: Oh do tell that you weren't frustrated that our fave is always one step away from victory if not for that bleeding heart of his.
KRK: I won't lie, his bleeding heart was a great source of frustration, but not because it cost him his victory, but it led others to manipulate him.
KRK: Still, I did not corrupt my fave unlike what you did to yours.
KRK: You're lucky that he wasn't corrupted to the point of no return.
PK: He became an actual Kamen Rider!
PK: A masked warrior who hides his tears under a mask.
KRK: If you wanted to make him a Kamen Rider, all you needed to do was give him a motorcylce!
KRK: That's all.
KRK: Goes to show how much you really know about Kamen Riders.
KRK: Tycoon was already a legitimate Kamen Rider before your slimy hands got a hold of him.
KRK: He already values life, which all good Kamen Riders do, even above love and peace.
PK: No, you're wrong.
KRK: I'm right and you're wrong.
KRK: As a treat, let me treat you to a Kamen Rider specialty.
KRK: *jumps on a motorcycle, runs over Premium Kekera before jumping in the air and did the all too familiar kicking pose.*
KRK: Rider Kick!
KRK: And that's that.
KRK: Tycoon, Sakurai Keiwa, you need one more thing to be a Kamen Rider.
KRK: You'll find it parked outside your home tomorrow.
KRK: *disappears*
Just a side comment, but what's with this trend of asks having a lot of ellipses (...) in them? Idk, it's just something I noticed in the recent round of asks. It feels like I'm trying to catch my breath or something when I read them.
Anyways, while I think the Geats cast (and particularly Keiwa) would be glad to be rid of canon!Kekera, AU!Kekera doesn't automatically gain their trust. They're just too wary of these people from the future now, even though there are ones like Tsumuri and Ziin and Kyuun who are sincere about supporting the Riders.
With how all the bastards in the DGP treated them like they were just playthings for their entertainment, can you really blame them for being cynical of everyone except the handful who have proven their loyalty? Especially someone who shares the face of someone that betrayed them? Remember, canon!Kekera seemed perfectly decent to all of us before the JGP arc...
Keiwa appreciates the gift, but at the same time he would probably treat with some suspicion until someone he does trust looks it over and gives it the all-clear.

Here’s my headcanon.
You see, I noticed that a lot of the posts here don’t accept Buffa’s redemption arc because he has not yet faced the consequences of his actions during the JGP. The problem is, there is no one to give him that consequence because the Jymatoes are basically gone and no riders can oppose him.
But, seeing that the writer is trying to portray Buffa in a more flattering light in these episodes, I think redemption is coming for him. But, because Buffa will get a new buckle later, I suppose he will be knocked down somehow, which will become the climax of his redemption arc. This episode is just trying to explain Buffa’s motives to the audience so that we can understand his character better.
Here are some ways I think will lead to Buffa’s final redemption:
1. He sacrificed his life to save someone. Maybe it’s Sara, Keiwa, or whoever. This is because Ace said that riders should not fight other riders and that one shouldn’t leave others to die. Ace is essentially trying to guide Buffa to the right path in this episode, and judging from this episode’s cooperation between Ace and Michinaga, it has gotten through Michinaga somewhat. Therefore, Buffa might take Ace’s words to heart and save someone from death later, which resulted in his own death. While he was dying, Buffa would pour his heart out and express his regrets for hurting others. (Kinda like Brain from Drive.) This is the most likely scenario.
2. He got defeated by Ace or Keiwa. I mean, Ace and Keiwa are both getting new forms. Who’s to say that it wouldn’t be used on Buffa? Maybe Keiwa thought Buffa killed Sara and used his Shogan form to defeat Buffa. Though I don’t think this is likely since Kekera still hasn’t faced his end.
3. Ace’s new form seems like a berserk form. This might lead him to attack others indiscriminately, and Buffa stopped him. During the fight, Buffa confessed his true feelings.

Asking about the potential counterargument for Ace prioritizting saving the people the Jamato were attacking, and then retreat when the civilians were in the clear.
The supporting decision to choose to murder them would be likely how, no matter how long the civilians are in the clear, as long as the parasite Jamato are still alive, there'd be always possibilities of people getting attacked, sooner or later.
If the Jamatos are killed, then there are no possibilities of anyone getting attacked anymore. The decision to keep Jamato alive by driving people away from them, if no one would be able to find any cure and save them and that their threats escalate, then there's a possibility of the last resort decision (like Kasumi in Build) of killing them off to prevent further harm, which to audience, will prove that "Azuma was right". but even worse that Ace and co. let some victims happen or letting things escalate to the worse in keeping that Jamato alive for clinging to "blind hope".
Azuma's decision of killing the parasite Jamatos is primarily supported by Daichi outright stating that the phase 2 can't be cured, thus taking into account of that word, keeping them alive in hope for saving them is likely seen as "blind hope".
Sorry to the Azuma lovers once more but I ain't going easy on him
Well... then it's a matter of taking Daichi- who is known to everyone by now as someone who likes stirring shit and twisting the truth for his own advantage and had betrayed the other Riders time and time again- at his word regarding the lack of a cure for the Jyamato he created.
Again, patterns of behavior matter. Daichi's a proven lying liar who lies + shit stirrer. Why should anyone believe he was being honest about the Jyamato victims?
Ace had no reason to believe that Daichi wasn't just saying that there is no hope to save Sara and co., for the same reason Keiwa had no reason to trust that Daichi was helping Sara in the DGP out of the goodness of his heart. Azuma, who spent quite an extended period of time in Daichi's company, also saw his behavior firsthand. I don't believe Daichi endeared himself to Azuma, not in a way that should've made Azuma think that he wasn't bullshitting about the Jyamato victims.
If he believed Daichi on his word alone, then he's as dumb as people say Keiwa was for trusting Jiit.
And that, of course, depends on him actually knowing about this "information"... which, if I'm not mistaken, he doesn't. Not until the world reset after Keiwa makes his wish supposedly screwed up Daichi's ability to fix things.
(Incidentally, this does mean that before the reset, Daichi did have a way to reverse the Jyamato-fication- aka, he lied.)
Since he was spouting the "they can't be saved anyway" justification before then... Azuma either came to that conclusion with no proof either way, or that was the rationalization he came up with to soothe his conscience when it started haunting him in the form of Sakurai Sara.

Both mom friends react to Keiwa being possessive of Ace.
Keiwa: You stay away from my kitsune. You damn sponsor.
Ziin: I'm just his support and sponsor so... I'm not that interested into him.
Keiwa: Still... He's mine!
Ace: Can you not squeeze me to death?
Keiwa: Sorry babe.
Ace: That's okay... *kisses Keiwa on the cheek*
Ziin: *takes picture* This is gonna make them future fujou's happy.
...Methinks Ziin's actually a yaoi fanboy himself, which makes things really weird when he's played by the same actor as the creator of Kamen Rider himself, but I digress.
Emu sighs and just pats Keiwa's head, warning him not to go overboard with his protectiveness/possessivness lest he ends up like Philip (who ended up physically assaulting someone over Shoutaro) and Sento (who is such an exhibitionist he ended up traumatizing his own child). And he warns Ace that if he does anything to break Keiwa's heart, he's going to die and no one's going to find his body. (Emu's friends with a coroner, after all...)
Yamato pretty much says the same things, though he's less hard on Ace than Emu would be since he's not biased towards Keiwa like Emu would be.

Keiwa's introduction in Ep 17 (via GenmSubs)
[and finally, our number one softie, the man who wishes for world peace with all his heart, Kamen Rider Tycoon, Sakurai Keiwa!]
I have a theory that Kabuto-wannabe listened to the words and right then and there decided that Keiwa would be easy-pickings...
the scenario now is.
Senpai Riders react to the likely scenario that Nadge-Sparrow targeted Keiwa from the get go.
I think it was fairly obvious he'd pick on Keiwa from the get go. Keiwa was a literal nobody in his eyes, not even worthy of attention, let alone someone he should compete with.
Keiwa was even dead last in the popularity standings- in a DGP season where it matters more than usual to boot. Whereas the other competitors were a famous athlete, a beloved internet influencer, "The Star of the Star of the Stars", and Daichi himself.
So why not just get rid of Keiwa from the start? That way, Daichi could focus his efforts on the "real" threats. He did not count on Keiwa's sincerity winning him points not only with the audience but with fellow competitors, while his own attempts to sabotage Keiwa only made the others favor Keiwa as trustworthy enough not to be the Dezastar.
So, no one is surprised and yet everyone is still disgusted by actions. And they're all secretly pleased he got some karma.
