he had a lot of gut wrenching expressions on his face this episode, but somehow this one broke me the most:

the way he realizes he used the sword and lost so much for nothing. that he can't protect himeno OR himself. that this is a losing battle, much like every other battle he's ever decided to fight.

how denji isn't the only person durable to the point of being unbeatable. and how others like him are on the gun devil's side as well.

im just so sure it put his own self into perspective, and most likely not for the first time. there are ppl out there who can survive the curse devil and a bullet to the head.

billy goes through a stage where he’s just. angry all the time.

and it’s not just after the big move.

he’s pissed when they get to hawkins. sure. but he’s not angry all the time. most of the time he doesn’t really feel anything.

it’s actually when he’s younger. a few years after his mom leaves. that’s when the anger comes out.

and it’s not just sometimes, either. it’s not even most of the time. he’s angry all the time.

because it just. hits him suddenly. one day.

his mom left. left him.

he loved her so much. he idolised her.

and she left him with neil.

and suddenly. he hates her.

he hates her so much. so fucking much.

because she left him. her kid. her billy.

and billy doesn’t know. doesn’t know what he did wrong. why she left. why she didn’t take him.

so he starts fights. he leaves holes in his bedroom wall. he slams doors. screams into his pillow at night.

and it all comes to a head one afternoon.

he’s in the bathroom. sitting. back against the tub.

he’s got this mirror. her mirror. this fucking. handheld thing.

he’s looking at himself in it.

and then he sees her. his mom.

staring back at him. through his eyes.

he looks down.

there’s a photo of her. resting on his knee. a photo from a day at the beach. when he was six.

when she was still around.

he looks at the photo. looks back at his reflection.

his knuckles turn white. plastic creaks in his grip.

he laughs. once. it’s too loud a sound in the silence of the house.

and then it happens.

billy’s still in the bathroom an hour later. only now he’s surrounded by glass.

the photo lay on the floor. ripped up.

billy’s throat feels raw. his eyes are swollen. they hurt.

blood drips from his knuckles.

he presses his forehead to the wall. the tile cold against his skin.

he jumps when he hears the front door slam. when neil shouts through to see if billy’s home.

billy feels sick. nauseous.

he looks at part of the photo. a scrap. lying just by his hand.

he whispers. lips barely moving. it’s almost a mantra.

i hate you. i hate you so much. i hate you, mom.

a knock at the bathroom door makes him jolt again. brings billy crashing back to the present.

“billy? you in there?”

billy moves his hand. feels a sort of. sick satisfaction as the cuts on his knuckles reopen and bleed anew.

“yeah, dad.”

he pulls his sleeve over his hand. wipes his eyes.

i hate you.

his knees buckle as he stands.

so much.

he tucks the photo scrap into his back pocket.

“coming.”

I’ve legitimately had a rotten day today. :(

#it’ll get better probably but I’ve been close to tears all day and I’m not really a crying person #never cry ever but today has made me want to pull my hair out!#I wake up late for work and then I go to close the door to my kitchen and the HANDLE falls off #had to move everything from my living room to the kitchen because there are workers fixing a part of the wall #forgot my headphones #get to work and my manager just randomly decided to switch everyone’s seats for the fun ig but like #I have issues with change and routine and blah blah also he sat me next to a dude that makes me uncomfortable #so I asked to move and then we had to move all the pcs around and all the cables were messed up #chest hurts my asthma is acting up and I still don’t have an inhaler #got into a fight with my bf over something stupid and almost cried in public #(all is well it was a silly fight)#didn’t get to get the hot chocolate I wanted because I was upset over said fight and just walked back to work #I go to get lunch and the place closed early somehow when they never do that #I am almost completely broke #get home to relax and the workers are STILL HERE even though they were supposed to be finished hours ago #it’s all a lot of silly small things but I do feel as if the world is against me today #bf is going to buy me pizza for dinner and also I have a rp reply from Simon I can distract myself with so all will be well soon!!!!

As much as I love Gilmore Girls I really wish I could rewrite it because so many choices the writers made me like why would you do this????

#to be fair I only watched the show in full once 2 years ago but the one thing that really bothers me #is that Jess (one of my favorite characters ever probably) is sent to live with his uncle aka Luke because he’s causing trouble and his mom #can’t handle it or whatever and then later in the show she becomes a prominent character and gets rebranded and has a horribly unfunny #husband and it’s just like???? why didn’t they show her trying to become a better mother to Jess first??? why did they just have to bring #her in as some sort of quirky character who is essentially just a problem for Luke to deal with which gave him an excuse to ignore the love #of his life Lorelei #just so much of the show makes me want to pull my hair out but god I felt so empty when I watched all the episodes it really filled a void #in my life as someone who never went to actual high school or college and it was fun to see a girl do the things that I imagined I would do #when I was older back when I was like 6 and didn’t understand how life worked #anyway #I need to sleep #autumn rambles
