I really dislike the fact they made Adam a sexist douchebag who demanded to have control over Lilith. It paints sexism as an innate, hereditary quality that men "can't help" but adapt.
If you really wanted to critizise christianity, focusing on how it teaches mysoginy to its followers could have been interesting. Children don't just come up with these concepts; they're taught by adults and society.
Viv could have written about how god taught Adam about hierachy and how he needed to be in charge because as a man, he was supposedly closer to god's true image than Lilith, a woman. How god had rigid ideas about who should be in charge because of his own arrogance, and how he tried to make women subservient to men because equality threatened his heavenly hierachies.
Of course he was against Adam and Eve eating the apple. It gave them the self- awareness and knowledge to question his ideas and reject him.
Hazbin could have been so interesting, but instead, Viv went with the "men are pigs, they're born like that and it's in their nature" route that only ends up affirming sexist believes.

Adam Redesign!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
didn’t think he would be the first redesign i posted, but i haven’t made the others animation friendly yet!! ik his real face isn’t, but ill edit that later
anywho. the first man was not white. in my rewrite(Happy Hostel) he acts more covert in his assholery because subtlety is A Concept. he plays the part of a loving husband and father whilst exterminating sinners yearly. he pretends to help Charlie with her ideas but is practically bullshitting his way through. he’s bitter that his first sons were hurt by Lucifer, and wants to make all of Hell pay for it. despite Cain literally living there
father of the year, everyone/sarc

Why are so many of Vivziepop’s male villains so….tantrum-y? Like, they are all so prone to throwing a big ass tantrum, and for what? The first time we meet Valentino he’s throwing one, the entirety of Vox’s part in “Stayed Gone” is the buildup and then climax of him throwing a tantrum until he breaks down/physically can’t throw a tantrum anymore, and what is “Hell’s Greatest Dad” if not Alastor throwing a mild tantrum and then Lucifer fully matching his energy? Even Adam throws a tantrum about his fucking balls right before he dies!
They’re all public tantrums too, and that’s so embarrassing for them. Honestly, why do they all have offsets of the same personality traits? They’re not monologuing (at least not well) either; not a single one of the instances I mentioned is that put together, they’re all reactionary and impulsive bursts of anger that come when the characters feel like they’re losing. Except it’s giving much less “King Kong ain’t got shit on me” (or even Deucalion’s “Gather Your Herbs” speech in S3 of Teen Wolf) and more Loki at the end of “Avengers 2012” before he got pummeled into the floor by Hulk.
The shit makes me feel like Niftty fr. Just kicking all of them in the shins while complaining about why they’re so lame.
Stella also throws tantrums but I don’t think we’re supposed to think she’s still cool after she does it so her case isn’t the same. Plus Stella’s at least got some fucking decorum because I think every tantrum she’s had happened in private with only maybe one or two other people in the room to bear witness at all.

manipulating the audience hazbin a helluva easy feat
I will stop these titles one day
Anyone notice how Lucifer behaved a chauvinistic dude bro when faced with Adam, made worse that he was in the presence of his daughter.
So did Lucifer cheat on Lilith?
Or was this yet another sugar sugardaddy x sugarbaby power x pov exchange only with the inclusion of the most liberal woman ever?
Adam didn't initiate the gotcha girl and gotcha girl again mockery and gave no impression of caring about this, why was this the only thing Lucifer had to rub in his face? Adam would actually go on to open up about his envy of the sinners not appreciating him for being their ancestor.
Tumblr media
Lucifer simply thinks sinners suck and agrees to the exterminations happening.
He is welcome to be smug.
This is just fine.
Tumblr media
This franchise has a pattern of this, it gives the impression that this is intentional knowing full well that along as the audience backs the right horse, they can do no wrong, insert anything anywhere and loyalty or silence prevails.
We witness Angeldust, after persistently S harrassing Husk opening up about how he isn't as comfortable or confident about the world he's in. We see for ourselves that as sex positive as he tries to portray, he's nowhere near in control.
Tumblr media
We then in a later episode witness Sir Pentious get SA as a gag, made worse that he was inebriated but still managed to do nothing but resist. This same episode Angeldust gets a serious scene standing up to his S predator.
Valentino is the prominent sexual predator of these stories, because Angledust is unhappy.
Tumblr media
Elsewhere his royal, prehistoric 'good twin', Ozzie the prince of lust isn't to blame for the sexdolls he puts out of his lover Fizzoroli, the prince of greedy who shows no interest in sex outside of adding it to a checklist of things that sell is to blame, we are abruptly told this and guided to accept it because 'cute ship', even though that ship has moved into not so fun sugardaddy x sugarbaby territory, edging towards that of the awkward transactionship of powerful, bored prince Stolas and reluctant, disadvantaged little imp Blitzø, a predatory setup that's ok because both characters get the positive spotlight and Blitzø benefits and doesn't behave like a textbook victim.
Tumblr media
Pentious didn't and did...
Stolas backstory is very significant, there is no sex positivity with his character, he was forced into a betrothal when he was a little child, forced into marriage as a teenager and made to have a child. His elders are to be honoured.
Tumblr media
Who else found themselves in this exact same situation? Stella. They have an identical backstory.
Tumblr media
Notice how, simply by switching some known characters around, Mammon and Fizz's interactions were a diluted spin on Blitzø and Moxxie? Fizz has a whole life away from Mammon, whose pageants chooses to compete in yearly, joint venture merchandise he promotes and phone calls he takes. He has a lover, a palace to roam around in and a day job. Blitzø works full time with Moxxie, breaks into his home, voyers on Moxxie and his wife, follows them on dates and has screwed their mutual ex for that reason.
Tumblr media
Both Mammon and Blitzø push Fizz and Moxxie into work when they don't want to, however we have no evidence of Fizz always being reluctant, on the contrary we once saw him look forward to going to pageant rehearsal. Unlike Fizz however, Moxxie has shown open resistance to doing things in the form of crippling fear, reason and angry argument, it all makes no difference. Mammon commented on Fizz appearing to have gained weight however fat jokes aimed at Moxxie have been plentiful, something Blitzø has partook in.
The tone is that Mammon is the villain because Fizz is sad, Fizz who had not been shown to be another Moxxie previously but when it come time for him to be a victim, he was places into a Blitzø Moxxie relationship which this time around wasn't funny.
Tumblr media
The tone alternatively is that Blitzø is eccentric, excusable and a fun lead to follow and Moxxie is the punching bag.
Notice how striker is a "supremisist" for wanting to bring down those at the top but it's perfectly ok for Blitzø to kill nobodies like himself.
Tumblr media
elsewhere it's ok for Alastor to do the same to those like him with the reluctan support of Charlie who's goal it is to save these people.
Tumblr media
Despite there existing an actual cannibal town, pimps and selling of souls being something she is acutely aware of, we are swayed to take Charlie's side as she sits in a position of power with her select besties at her hotel, that may have hard dr ugs on the premises, doing very little outreach even though we see community among extras, who does deals with literal lesser devils, in a world her dad created, her dad who allows exterminators to deal with who he sees as nuisances but she sees as 'family' and there's no conflict of interests, who do we see as the black and white baddies from day one? The angels.
Those who don't even sit at the top or know how things work to be specific.
Tumblr media
Not Vaggie though.
Your favs are allowed to be dbags too, it doesn't make you reprehensible to see this and still like them!

Eve and Adam - the saddest divorced couple in both Hell and Heaven. I really enjoyed designing them. And rewriting the whole original ideas completely lol.
After Lilith was kidnapped, the angels offered Adam a new wife - Eve. Adam was quite unaccepting at first, but eventually they grew really close to each other, establishing even stronger connection. Lilith never really loved Adam, but Eve truly did, and was willing to spend time with him exploring the Garden.
Eve was as curious as Lilith was, but never had enough courage to express it. So, Lilith and Lucifer, who were observing her from their little hiding place, decided to offer her a Gift of Knowledge. But, as in canon, this gift released something vile and very chaotic, that doomed all four of them.
While Lucifer and Lilith were banished to Hell, Eve and Adam were sent to the Living World, and started their normal life as humans. Adam did not disrespect Eve after she did what she did, but felt a sour taste of betrayal on him. They had two children, Cain and Abel, who would become the first souls in Hell and Heaven respectively. It hurt Adam even more.
After Adam and Eve died, they were present on a trial led by Sera and some other angels. Eve was decided to be sent to Hell, while Adam was offered a Choice to either stay with his wife, or join angel forces in Heaven and be able to see one of his sons again. Impulsively he chose the second option and left his wife... forever?
Eve ended up in Hell and would later become the first Overlord (tba my overlord lore). She would be very welcomed by Lilith and Lucifer, and live her afterlife as happy as she could, until something would happen to kill her. Like, second time.

Wip of past Eve and Adam in my normal style, im planning to rewrite Adam as a whole because oh my gosh, how can you butcher such a potential dynamic character into a stereotypical "Adam is a misogynist because first man hurr hurr, genius social commentary about the faults of Christianity"
he just spectated throughout human history dwindling to its downfall every time all because of the fruit, his son murdered his other son because of the sin the fruit brought, and he's looking down at his descendants' suffering as a result of the sin throughout each century bringing every catastrophic man-made events, would that not stir any emotions? His hatred of Lucifer should be more intense than just because he had a fling with both Lilith and Eve apparently.
The only medias I know that managed to make Lucifer somewhat of a tragic figure that you can understand but never justify are Sandman, Alexandre Cabanel's "Fallen Angel" painting and Paradise Lost depictions of Lucifer.
I'm dreading what Vivz will do to Eve
The Garden of Eden must had sound like Frank Ocean's "Pink + White" instrumentally.

Hazbin Hotel Ep1 Rewrite
Okay, let’s get the shit I like first out of the way. Animation? Beautiful. Art style? Iconic. Music? Pops off.
Okay, now the fun part…
First let me just say, I adore biblical lore. So when I see something changed from the og lore, where I think the og was more interesting, I cannot let it go.
(I’m gonna focus on the Charlie storyline in the episode)
1. The Backstory
Let’s start with the first scene, the backstory of Lucifer and Lilith. In the show, they got some of the timeline and motivations wrong. I understand that the story is sugar coated, but hear me out.
“Once upon a time, there was a dazzling kingdom protected by golden gates, known as Heaven. Home to beings of pure light. Angels that worshiped good and lived in peace and harmony under the rule of God. The most beautiful of the Angels was Lucifer. He was a dreamer, with fantastical ideas for all creation. But he was restricted by God and the elders of Heaven, for they felt his way of thinking was dangerous to the order of their world.
Outraged by this injustice, Lucifer gathered an army of Angels, and declared war on the kingdom of Heaven. The battle raged on for centuries, but in the end, Heaven reigned victorious. As punishment for their betrayal, Lucifer and his army were cast out of Heaven. Banished to a crumbling wasteland, where the light of God could not reach. But Lucifer would not wallow in failure. From the barren landscape he rose a beautiful golden palace, crowned himself king and crafted a plan to share his freedom with God’s newest creation. Humanity.”
(I like to imagine that when Lucifer and his army fell, their wings burned up, leaving scattered feathers everywhere. In order to fly to Eden, Lucifer gathered these burned feathers and turned them into a new pair of wings for himself. They were black, messy, and trailed billowing smoke, but they could fly.)
Now for the Lilith part of the story. The more popular interpretation of her is that she is the first wife of Adam, but there is another version too, one where she is Adam’s second Wife after Eve. I personally prefer the latter because I can’t see anyone sinning or getting cast out of Edan before Eve eats the apple.
“He approached the garden of Edan in disguise, and offered the forbidden fruit of knowledge to the mother of humanity, Eve, who gladly accepted. But with the gift of knowledge and freedom, came a terrible curse. Evil bleed into the earth, and humanity was infected by darkness and sin.
For her disobedience Eve was cast out of Edan, to the dismay of her love, Adam. To appease him, the Angels crafted him a new bride, Lilith. Lilith was beautiful, with a voice so enchanting even Lucifer was mesmerized, but she was strong willed and refused to be subservient to her new husband. She fled from the garden, and rather than chase her, Adam found the tree of knowledge and bit into the forbidden fruit, so he could follow his true love, and be with her once more.
Lilith wandered, lost and alone, until she was found by Lucifer. Enamored by her beauty and iron will, he gave her his heart and made her his queen.”
Then you have the bit about Lucifer becoming depressed while Lilith thrived in Hell. I hate this! I was looking forward to a demonic Mortica and Gomez, not another Stolas and Stella. Plus, I’ve never been a fan of uwu sad misunderstood Lucifer. He is a complex character, but too often he’s over simplified by people who read Paradise Lost in high school and misinterpreted Lucifer as a tragic anti hero who was treated unfairly by the evil Angels. Lucifer can be tragic, even sympathetic. He can be fun and a caring father. But don’t forget that he is king of Hell. He is the prince of pride. He has an ego the size of east Texas and waged war against God himself.
And let’s not forget that in the show he is the head honcho over a strict cast system that encourages violence, allows the worst of the worst to take power, and leaves the hellborn races at the bottom at a severe disadvantage.
In this rewrite, Lucifer and Lilith essentially switch places, except Lilith isn’t a pathetic push over, she’s an incredibly famous rockstar, who’s always busy and not around often, but still has a bigger role in her daughter’s life than her husband, who’s been mia doing king shit.
And the last thing we hear about in the intro monologue is that the exterminations happens to prevent Hell from rising against them, which while that may be the case, don’t have Charlie say it!!! That realization for her would make the entire hotel superfluous! Charlie has to think that the problem truly is overpopulation.
2. Meeting with Adam
Let’s start with Adam himself. I hate this character. Especially as an adaptation of Adam. Yes, Adam is misogynistic. He expected Lilith to be subservient to him, but he wouldn’t be the frat boy type of misogynist, he’d be the old school chivalrous type. Grandpa style sexism. And shouldn’t the father of humanity care about his descendants? It doesn’t make any sense for him to be an executioner. He should be the leader of the guardian Angels or something.
In this rewrite, Adam is not the leader of the executioners, instead it’s the Angel Dumah. Dumah is the angel over the wicked dead, and he was appointed by God to torment sinners in Hell.
I want him to be an actual intimidating antagonist. He rarely speaks (his name means “silence”) and has many eyes (is described as having a thousand eyes)
As for the exorcists, they are Angels, but not actual dead humans wearing mask. They just look like that. Dumah is described as having tens of thousands of Angels of Destruction at his disposal. That’s what the exorcists are going to be, but instead of thousands, I’ll give him five. They don’t speak and are hardly sentient. They stand on top of the tower like gargoyles, until they “come to life” for the execution.
“But it’s a comedy! Shouldn’t they be funny?” No. It’s all about how characters react to them. The Litch in Adventure Time is a good example of this.
So obviously the meeting goes a lot differently.
Charlie gets a call, looks at the number, and excitedly tells everyone to, “shooooosh!” She takes the call nervously, saying, “yeah! Okay! Yes! Of course! I’ll be right there! Thank you SOOO much!!!” She hangs up and happily tells Vaggie that Dumah requested a meeting with her. Vaggie is nervous and says she should probably go with her, but Charlie says that she’ll be fine and tells her to stay and work on the commercial. She leaves excited that the Angels may finally be taking her seriously.
She makes it to the clock tower’s board room, where Dumah sits silently at the end of the table. Charlie nervously starts to greet him before she realizes they’re not alone. The Angels, Gabriel and Uriel have come from Heaven, for a meeting with Hell’s princess.
Uriel remains professional, politely bowing her head as she greeted Charlie. Gabriel on the other hand, threw his arms out, happily yelling, “Charlotte!!!” He wrapped her in an uncomfortably tight and awkward hug, saying how much she’s grown since he last saw her. He’s like a chill but estranged uncle meeting his now adult niece who he hasn’t seen since she was a baby and has no memory of him whatsoever.
Uriel watches the whole thing in embarrassment. She tells Charlie that Dumah had contacted them, regarding some, “interesting,” ideas about the extermination.
Charlie starts with her pitch, but Gabriel insists that they should take some time to catch up first. He claps his hands and summons plates of food for everyone. When we cut back to them, Gabriel is in the middle of telling the story about almost getting his ass kicked by Joseph when he told him his virgin wife was pregnant.
Uriel cuts him off, saying she doesn’t need to hear this story for the eighth millionth time. She turns to Charlie, exasperated, and tells her to get on with the pitch.
Charlie says that she has a potential solution for the over population problem in Hell. Uriel, Gabriel, and Dumah look at her blankly. Gabriel asks, “overpopulation?”
Charlie goes on to explain that she knows overpopulation is a big problem, but 275 sinners were executed this year alone and she just can’t stand to watch her people be slaughtered anymore.
Uriel asks if she’s suggesting an alternative, and Charlie very excitedly pitches her idea for the hotel. Uriel and Gabriel wear a matching “wtf” face and look back and forth at eachother like, “does this girl know what she’s suggesting?”
As Charlie is finishing, Uriel is visibly annoyed. She interrupts Charlie, complaining that this is ridiculous and has all been a massive waste of time as she stands up to leave. Charlie tries to stop her, saying, “please, you don’t understand.”
Uriel snaps back, “no, you don’t understand! They had their chance in life and they earned damnation.”
Charlie responds, “you're wrong. Sinners made mistakes, sure, but everyone makes mistakes.”
Uriel pinches the bridge of her nose (or where a nose would be on a person) “a mistake happens once. It’s an accident, an error in judgment due to naivety. Of course mistakes can be forgiven, but we’re not talking about mistakes, are we? These sinners had a choice, and they chose to live in sin.”
“A choice they now regret!” Charlie defends.
“It takes a lot more than regret to be forgiven.” Uriel says coldly. “It takes remorse.”
Gabriel chimes in, “she has a point, Charlie. It’s easy to make someone regret their actions, but to have them feel true selfless remorse, that is much more difficult.”
Charlie furrows her brow and starts to look defeated.
“But perhaps not impossible.”
Charlie beams with excitement. Gabriel explains that this is a big decision, too big to be made right now, but if she can successfully redeem one demon, they will allow her to come to heaven and pitch her idea to the entire Angelic court. Uriel tries to argue, but Gabriel just says they’ll discuss it later. Charlie gives him a tight hug before he and Uriel disappear.
As she turns to leave, Dumah puts his hand on her shoulder. This is the first time he’s moved in the entire scene. He stares at her coldly and says, “the only reason you’re here is your father has spared you from the executioner’s blade. If I had my way. Each and every one of you would be slaughtered.”
Charlie stares up at him. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
For context, part of the reason Gabriel and Uriel were initially confused by Charlie’s proposal is because they know that Lucifer is trying to keep Hell’s population as high as possible, in preparation for the second war with heaven. That’s why he and the other princes of hell work to manipulate humanity and temp them towards sin (i.e. succubi and incubi). That’s why he arranges marriages between powerful demons to make powerful demon children (i.e. Stolas and Stella). He needs as many demons possible for his army if he’s gonna have a chance at winning. So obviously, sending sinners to heaven, aka the opposing force, is the LAST thing Lucifer would want.

Im demented I spent three days on this shitty flipaclip animatic for a show I don't even like but at least my redesigns look crisp lmao
Edit: Also any part where Charlie interacts with V is my favorite, especially when she bumps into her i'm very proud of that. And now I'm in a better mood than when i posted this, and i can explain some choices. My main thing with this was making it less dizzying, that's one thing i can't stand about hazbin, the camera won't stay still for five seconds. holding on a shot can work but they won't and it's so hard to follow. I think mine is much better in that regard.
Okay second Edit: I wanted to brag about some things i did. So i tried to make Adam take up as much of the frame as possible, most of the shots are from Charlie's perspective and show him looming over her, even when she isn't in frame i wanted the viewer to feel like they're her - he's staring down at the camera and the angles are low. Especially when he gets on her level and shoves himself in her personal space which i tried to have him do as often as possible. I wanted him to come off as domineering and a total jackass. Tbh Adam was actually a character i found myself enjoying in the show and now that he's dead idk how tf i'm gonna make myself sit through season 2.
ALSO Charlie's pose at the beginning where she's trying to reprise happy day in hell is mirrored by Adam later when he first says hell is forever and not to suck my own dick or anything but i thought i was very clever for that

thinking about how adam was the first human soul in Heaven bc what the fuck happened to Abel. did he go to hell (for some reason?)
like what happened there. he was the first human to ever die so like would the theories saying Eve is the first person to enter hell be therefore incorrect? Because Adam and Eve had another son to replace Abel, Seth. Eve did not die first.
idk i have gripes and confusion about that stuff.

I Am Officially Disappointed With The Direction They Are Going With Heaven
Tumblr media
Ever since the "Cherubs" episode happened, I wasn't confident that heaven would get as much nuance as the folks in hell and this shows with Adam I was right. It's really going to be the switch of heaven is just as evil or even more evil than hell, while hell is flawed but full of otherwise misunderstood people. This ignoring the fact that it's hell and many people there are show to be worthy of being there which includes Valentino and those guys in the aforementioned "Cherubs" episode.
I even was uneasy when the premise was first dropped and it was that heaven was sending these angels to slaughter which in my opinion always made no sense to me. If they don't care about sinners then why sent exterminators out and just make hell's king reside over them. Again it's questions like that made me realize that this world isn't as well thought of as Vivizepoop thinks it is. It also doesn't help the head exterminator is fuking Adam as in the ancestor of all humanity and the first sinner. I know in actual beliefs Adam did find redemption in God, but I wouldn't think enough to be made an angel because Angels biblically are purely created beings by God. Wouldn't he actually be vouching for more sinners to be saved since they are his descendants? It also doesn't help he's turned into a strawman misogynist because that's also original when depicting heaven.
And again revealing in the first fucking season that Charlie can visit heaven and that there is a war just reeks of rushed development. Instead of building up to it until probably the later seasons we are getting it all here, which makes you wonder what else can you do after that. After realizing that heaven isn't going to accept people in and having a war, where does it go from there. It really shows me Vivziepoop really doesn't think and just wants to get to the good stuff without earning it through slow development. This is why it's really going to be lackluster as heck.
Also it really feels like the focus on heaven will be like a shallow depiction thought of by one of those reddit atheists where they don't understand shit about theology but claim to be the best experts because they are former Christians. Just like with the goetia, she will cherry pick what she uses and then use her own interpretation. And from what I have seen how she interprets the sins, it's going to be a doozy especially if she does the cliche reverse and depicts all angels as evil with no depth.
All in all heaven is everything I was justifiably feared it will be and Vivziepoop will praised as so-called original when it's anything but that.

lute x adam is better than davekat and chaggie. they both sound killer singing together.
also just like wish's "villain", I find no fault in adam's reasoning, sinners such as rapists and pedos should be eradicated. i dont give a fuck about how apparently there are random kids in hell to emotionally manipulate the audience, for all we know that could be a grown ass man pretending to be a kid, and maybe that could have been more interesting: to see a hell's citizen take advantage of vaggie's kindness. it'd explain her trust issues & lute's bizarre reaction to actual mercy.
whats up with modern shows/films these days and their weird morals...
Tumblr media
Adam x Lute is better than Davekat and Chaggie. Funny enough, Vivziepop confirmed that pedophiles, Nazis, and racists are already wiped out after they died. Like, human pedophiles/Nazis/racists who die, don't go to hell, limbo, purgatory, or heaven. They just get erased from existence. Angels have nothing to do with it. The Hazbin/Helluva universe already does its work. Of course, imps and hellborn creatures like hellhounds or the Sin ringleaders, can still be pedophiles, Nazis, and racists. But they are exempt from extermination. So the only sinners that do get sent to Hell to just do the same old shit would be murderers, con artists, human traffickers, rapists, and those who commit slavery, are still around. Which makes me question where does child murderers or those who lead child human trafficking and slavery fall in. Do they get wiped out from existence too if they didn't touch the child in that way? Do they get wiped out from existence for harming a young soul? Or do they get straight sent to Hell because murder is bad, regardless of age? Probably doesn't help that Heaven already admitted they don't know the requirements of people getting into Heaven, so it's a mystery on who is even checking since apparently at this point, even innocent souls who likely died of accident or bad circumstances, get sent to Hell regardless. It probably will be answered later on by some bullshit means, but it raises more questions on when in point did that become a thing. People pointed out that Angel Dust's sister, MOLLY, is there. What point in time Heaven allowed others to get in before it all changed with the extermination? Does even something small as when you were a kid stealing from the cookie jar, count as a major sin to be sent straight to Hell and that's why the child is sent in? Who the fuck knows. Maybe it will get answered in finale. Maybe they will hold it off for season 2 since it is confirmed and they are already recording the lines as we speak. I think the reason for these weird morals in recent modern media, just only goes for the straight black-white mortality, but hide it differently in these recent times as an act of justice that we won't make the same mistakes like we did in the past. Unfortunately, they are but are too ignorant to see it. Also in the case of how Hazbin Hotel is presenting with its rushed pacing, people, audiences and creators, would rather get to the heart of the matter fast and immediately than to build it up on how to get there. Why the fuck should we know about Camille and her backstory when all that matters is that she is a protective mother and that's it? No need to build up sustenance, all it matters is just the emotional factor to pull at your heartstrings for one moment like a quick sugar rush. No need to show the slow burn romance of why Vaggie likes Charlie. All it matters that she is now cute lesbians with her and its a good rep for LGBT. TL;DR of that is people are impatient.
