With the release of the storyboards of “The Serpent and The Stars”, and the knowledge this MAP will be the conclusion to Cheeteh Z’s overarching narrative as well as their own projects, I really just wanted to say how lucky the Warriors fandom was for their hardwork (as well as the many talented animators who worked with them along the journey).
While many MAP’s, amazing in their own right, are there to be seen online, I don’t think I’ve personally seen a host with as much creativity and ambition as Cheeteh Z for a long time. Every one of their MAP’s has not only been meticulously crafted, but are always undeniably unique and touch on themes and styles I think most of the fandom would have never even thought of touching. But Cheeteh Z always stuck by their vision and because of that we, as a fandom, have been honoured with a toy box of creativity and passion. I for one will miss seeing Cheeteh Z’s work in the future, but I’m happy I was able to follow their projects from the very beginning!
Thank you Cheeteh Z for being such an immense breath of fresh air for the MAP community, and of course thank you to the incredible animation team who helped make each of these incredible visions a reality!

#i recently watched both the poor george brokenstar map and the western style hawkstorm map#and wowwww they're just so cool#i'm also a rory ashfur map enjoyer#kiwifae says shit#in case y'all somehow haven't noticed i've fallen back into the warrior cats fandom lol#i only vaguely remember the lore from my fourth grade readings but the art is pretty even if the books are bad#oh if you have a favorite map drop of in my askbox i'd love to find more :3

personally, i find it fascinating how the warriors fandom deals with aus. anything goes usually, and most of the time people come up with really cool ideas for these little battle kitties. it's really interesting because it follows this pattern of bad books where the books do not utilize its full potential, so the fandom has to do it because the canon just wasnt good enough. and the truth is the books COULD have been good. in all honesty, the premise of kitty cats worshipping cat god and fighting in the woods really isn't that bad? it makes for some interesting scenarios.
but since the erins are stupid and don't think about what they write, we get kittypet xenophobia and ableism and misogyny and no self awareness. without all the horrible writing and shit character moments and discrimination, these books could be something to look fondly back upon for their writing, but they're not. the fans have to fill in the gaps in the erins' writing with maps and aus, because the books are so bad that it leaves readers wanting more than the erins are willing to give, because they honestly don't care about readers. but the fandom does, and the fandom makes aus and maps and art of this silly little battle cat series. and i think that's great

Actually you know what? Feel free to kill me, I fucking hate most of cheeteh z's wc maps and the entire culture built around them
#the only good one is cowboy mapleshade and i stand by that#there is so much wrong with everything surrounding cheeteh. his maps. the people he works with. etc.#i do not have the time or energy to write it out for you or to care#LOVE cowboy mapleshade. best mapleshade map#hate everything else. traveler feather is weird and gets rid of jays blindness#the skinning in bramblefur is horrible#the story in hawkstorm a. makes no sense and b. is just bad#i dont even have the time to try and figure out whats going on in crookedgoose tbh. i dont care#cheeteh is 17 and being put on this pedestal#while he purposefully works to exclude smaller artists and supports crunch culture#plus hes friends with some pretty bad people#cheeteh is 17. he shouldnt be given all this power. i just know he must be sweating under all the pressure#give this kid a break#anyways. im not gonna waste anymore of my break time on this nonsense#will answer anon hate later 🙏🙏#maybe i should make a ramble tag..
