notes: i needed to get this out there, i can’t get my hopes up about jatp getting a new season + i’ve been wanting to post a reggie fic for so long !! likes, comments and reblogs are always very appreciated :)
"So you're a vampire?" Reggie swallowed thickly after finishing his sentence. You had just told him you were a vampire and he was going through a whirlwind of emotions. Mostly confusion.
"Yes, Reggie." You sighed, in all honesty, you were happy he was back to talking. After you had told him your 'big secret' he sat at the edge of your bed and just stared at you for thirty minutes.
"And you're actually over two hundred years old?" He questioned again, this time scooting closer to the edge of the bed, closer to you.
"Yeah." you sighed, quieter. You didnt want to tell Reggie about you being a vampire, but it felt wrong keeping him from this.
"And the only reason you can see me, is because you see dead people?" Reggie looked at you with wide-set eyes.
He had, of course, thought it was weird you could see him because until then he thought only Julie could (and of course others when they sang.) But he didnt put much thought into it. He was happy and didnt want to ruin that.
You nodded slowly, hoping that Reggie wouldn't be mad, or even worse; scared. In your entire existence as a vampire, you had only told one person what you truly were. Your ex-boyfriend. And immediately regretted it when he turned on you and tried to kill you.
You really hoped Reggie wouldn't do the same. Although you didnt know if ghosts could actually kill.
"Do you.." Reggie took a deep breath, trying to form the right words for the next question, "Do you kill people?"
There was the big question. "No," you replied immediately, noticing Reggie visibly relax once you answered, "I steal blood blags from hospitals.."
"Oh thank God!" Reggie exclaimed, sending himself back on your bed.
Cautisoly, you sat up from your sofa chair, and made your way over to your bed, sitting down on a side and staring down at a happily smiling Reggie. "You're not mad?"
"Of course not!" Reggie smiled, wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you down to lay with him, "I was just scared you would want to suck my blood..."

wippet (wip snippet)
happy wip wfriday everybody... was tagged by @60sec400; ty :)
i'm of two minds and want to post two snippets for two different unposted works; one of them is from jatp and the one under the cut is for omgcp because i can't get either one out of my head.
here's a piece of a time loop fic i've been working on-
It should be so easy. It’s a single motion. The twitch of a finger, really. The same motion she’s done ever since she was an infant on her mom’s lap, plunking away without a care in the world and letting discordant melodies run wild in her childhood home.
But it isn’t.
Julie can’t sit in her mom’s lap anymore. She never will again.
The hole that’s sat in Julie’s chest every single day for ten months grows and grows until it’s all she is. Everyone’s gaze feels heavy like she’s trapped under the weight of the entire ocean. Their eyes burn into her back, watching, waiting for her to just start fucking playing.
But there’s nothing to watch.

and here's the snippet for the jack therapy fic. yes my two [unposted] wips are about characters going to therapy (literally and metaphorically).
A boy comes in. And he is a boy—just a month shy of turning nineteen. Jack’s hair is dark brown, almost black. The pictures of him before all show him with longer, fluffier hair, but right now his hair is cut short and practical. His eyes are scarily blue. While not especially vivid, they’re piercing. But baby fat still clings to his cheeks and it’s heartbreaking, because she knows this boy was medically dead for fifteen minutes three weeks ago.
He looks startlingly small for someone so tall and muscular. He’s nine years younger than her but towers over her, even when he sits down in the plush gray chair across from her, yet he carries himself like he’s a child.
Almost-nineteen years old and he thinks he’s ruined his life forever.
Angie hopes she can help him fix this.

Silver-white winters that melt into spring
Written for the Year of the OTP challenge prompt: That’s my favourite thing about you.
On AO3!
Well here we are, at the end of the year, and it seems fitting to end it with the ship that started the year; Rulie!
In truth, they are my OTP but it was fun to write this series with a few different pairings and get to challenge myself with the prompts.
Happy New Years to all, and I promise to see you back here in 2024 with even more JatP fic!
“I know we both love Christmas,” Reggie said as he eased himself back onto the couch. “But I’m kind of glad it’s over.”
Julie sighed as she swung her feet into his lap. “Still gotta get through New Years.”
“We are having a quiet night in with champagne and Rockin’ New Years Eve on the tv,” Reggie said firmly. “No parties, no obligations, just us to ring in the new year together.”
“That sounds lovely,” she groaned as he rubbed the sore arches of her feet. “How’d you get everyone to agree?”
“The usual threats and bribery,” Reggie replied. “Honestly everyone just wanted a bit of a chill thing anyways, so I begged off for us to do our own thing.”
“My hero,” Julie quipped, offering him a smile. “That’s my favourite thing about you, how you look after me.”
“I could never pick just one thing,” Reggie said, placing a kiss on her ankle. “Everything about you is my favourite.”
“Sap,” Julie replied.
“But I’m your sap,” Reggie countered.

On New Year's Eve Julie woke up late, and alone. There was a note on Reggie’s pillow, so she unfolded it.
You’re my favourite person to share a bed with-you give the best cuddles, and your little snores are adorable
“I don’t snore!” She called out, slipping out of bed, and got no response, so she went to the kitchen. There was a tray of food and coffee, still warm. Plus a note.
You’re my favourite meal partner, it’s always fun to eat with you, even when you insist we eat healthy.
Julie snickered as she took in the oatmeal when she knew Reggie would prefer bacon and eggs. But Julie said the odd day of a healthier option wouldn’t kill him. “Might keep you around another decade or two even,” she had teased. “And I want you to be around for them, see what a silver fox you turn into.”
“Yeah, you still gonna be into me when I’m all old and wrinkly?” Reggie had asked.
“And then some,” Julie had promised.
She smiled as she recalled the awed expression he’d given her at that. Julie adored Reggie, but she wished he didn’t doubt her devotion so much, and wanted to throttle his parents for damaging his self esteem so. He had gotten better, but there were days she knew he still doubted, and she vowed to ensure every day that he knew how much he was loved.

Finishing her breakfast, she went back up the stairs, wondering idly where Reggie was. He wasn’t exactly a morning person, so it was odd for him to not be here. But given the notes, she figured he had some sort of plan.
On her toothbrush:
Your smile is my favourite (yes even with the gap) it might not be perfect but it always brightens my day.
Then again on her hair brush:
I love your curls, especially when you leave them all wild and free, and the fact that you trust me to help you with them is my highest honour
Julie bit back a grin at that; she had only recently brought Reggie in to help her maintain her curls. He had taken notes, making sure he knew each step, and delighted in helping her wash, condition, and style them. He was surprisingly gentle, and though he could only manage a braid right now Julie had caught him looking up more advanced styles to try.
Julie couldn’t wait to see what he came up with honestly.
Another note was waiting for her on her dresser.
Though my favourite outfit on you is nothing but a smile, I do love your style, no matter what you wear.
Julie blushed at that-Reggie had always been pretty vocal about loving her curves, and worshipped them often-especially on days she chose to flaunt them. But today was just going to be them, so she decided on comfort over fashion-leggings, a crop top and Reggie’s own beloved red flannel over top, almost like a hug from the man himself.
Speaking of which, where was Reggie? She loved the romance of these notes but she wanted the real thing. Calling out receives no reply, and her texts go unanswered. She decides to check the yard, since they tend to enjoy spending time in their garden, and finds another note by her sneakers.
The fact that you’re such a sneakerhead is my favourite thing, even if I don’t get it. But I love to see how you doodle on each pair, making them uniquely yours-your creativity astounds me.
There’s no Reggie in the garden, but she does pay some attention to the plants, trimming weeds and watering them as needed. And of course finds another notes on her watering can.
Before you I would never claim to have a green thumb, but the fact that you nurtured that in me is my favourite thing. You make me bloom Julie.
She shakes her head and tucks the note into her pocket-her man is too cute. She makes a pile of the notes once back in the house, smiling at Reggie’s love for her. Wonders where else he might have them hidden, and takes a slow walk through the house.
On the bookshelf: Your mind is my favourite thing, how smart you are (except at math :P) and how you always strive to learn more
On the piano: You are the music of my life, the counterpoint to my melody, and the fact that you share your music with me is my favourite thing.
On the fiddle that Reggie bought her as a joke one year, and she had faithfully learned in retaliation: The fact that you indulge the country boy in me is my favourite thing, and I can’t wait to make our album that does surprisingly well just like we promised each other all those years ago.
The shelf she had made him to display his comics and action figures: I love that you let me be my nerdy self, even sitting through the prequels with me (what a woman!) and let me display all my geeky stuff proudly-the fact that I can be myself with you is my favourite thing.
On the door to the laundry room: You make even the most dull chores fun, because building a life with you is my favourite thing.
Julie heard the front door open then, and rushed to find Reggie entering, plowing into his arms. “You sweet, silly, ridiculous man.”
“Hey darlin’,” he said, beaming as he swung them around. “You find all my notes?”
“I don’t even know, how many did you write?” Julie asked with a laugh.
Reggie shrugged. “Didn’t really keep track. Told you I could never pick just one favourite thing about you.”
Julie pulled him down for a kiss then, a scorching, fiery one that left them both panting. She barely pulled away, their breaths mingling as she whispered “You’re my favourite thing.”
“Sap.”
“So was there a reason for the romantic paper trail?” Julie asked after they had eaten lunch and done a pile of dishes.
“Just felt like doing something special to end the year on,” Reggie replied. “It’s been a heck of a year, and you’ve been my rock through it all-so you deserve a little romance.”
“What did I ever do to deserve you?” Julie asked.
“Oh trust me, I ask myself that every day,” Reggie replied with a wink.

Their afternoon and evening was spent together, loving one another, enjoying one another’s company-nothing spectacular, but to Julie she thought this would always be her favourite way to spend New Years.
They were waiting for the ball to drop in New York, glasses of champagne ready-the neighbours had been setting off fireworks for a few minutes now, and that plus the lights of the tree was all they needed. “Is it weird for us to ring the New Year at eight?” Julie asked.
“You really wanna stay up until midnight?” Reggie countered.
“Fair enough. So did I find all your notes after?” Julie asked, spreading out all the ones she had collected, plus a few Reggie had produced from the oddest places-really when was she supposed to look in the pantry or amongst the DVDs? But she kept each one-she thought about making a scrapbook, something to keep each note safe and treasured as Reggie made her feel.
“I think there’s one last one on the tree,” Reggie said, gesturing to where there was indeed a note stuck in amongst the branches. Julie got up and snatched it, but snuggled right back into his embrace to read it.
Julie, you are my favourite person, and I can’t wait to see what new aspects of you will become my new favourite thing. I want us to spend our lives together so we always keep finding new things to love about one another. So will you be my favourite one and only, and become my wife?
Julie turned to see Reggie there, a hopeful smile on his face, and a gorgeous ring in his hand. “But you always said…”
“Julie, I never thought marriage was something I wanted,” Reggie admitted. “After my parents, I thought it wasn’t for me. But you, you make me want things I never thought I would. Marriage, a family, a happily ever after. But I can only have it with you. You made me believe in love again Julie, and I think that is my favourite thing about you.”
Julie held out her left hand, though it was shaking. “Ask me then, I need to hear the words, to make sure this isn’t a dream.”
Reggie chuckled. “Not a dream darlin’, but you make all my dreams come true. This is just making one of yours real too. So Julie, will you please marry me?”
“Yes!” she exclaimed, watching the ring slide home before pulling him into a hug, almost sobbing as he held her tight, pulling back to kiss her sweetly. They could hear cheers from the television, but they didn’t care, only having eyes for one another.
Later, after drinking champagne and sharing more kisses than she could count, Julie held up her hand, admiring the ring. “You did good,” she commented.
“Your dad helped,” Reggie admitted. “Even offered your grandparents rings for our wedding.”
“I’d love that,” Julie replied, smiling up at him. “So does everyone know?”
“How else do you think I got them to agree to just us on New Years?” Reggie replied. “They’ll be by tomorrow for brunch so you can tell them all then.”
“So we can ring in the New Year as fiancees?” Julie asked. Reggie nodded, smiling into the kiss she offered him. “That’s my new favourite thing.”
“Just wait until I get to call you my wife,” Reggie replied.
Julie shivered at the word, pulling him down for yet another kiss, the sparks from it brighter than the fireworks lighting up the sky, and the ring on her finger. But nothing beat the glow in Reggie’s eyes as they pulled apart or the smile on Julie’s face as she whispered “My husband.”

i tend to stick to one fandom at a time, so for now i'm writing hellcheer for stranger things, but in the past i've written for: 1d, julie and the phantoms, shadowhunters, 911, and young royals! (some of those were just one-offs tho)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
can't help falling in love with you (1d - narry)
keep me up all night (jatp - peterpatter)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
yes! i try to respond to every comment i get, tho sometimes i don't reply to ones that are like replies to my previous comments bc that gets to be too much. i also moderate all my comments so i tend to delete the ones that are rude (which truthfully i do not get a lot of, which is nice!)
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
oh without a doubt that's always have & i always will. i set out to write a very sad fic and that's exactly what i did.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
i'd say this could apply to pretty much every other one of my fics bc i do prefer a happy ending since isn't that what we're mostly all here for??? happy endings for our blorbos???
8. Do you get hate on fics?
i have in the past. it's part of the reason why i started moderating comments. i simply don't understand why someone would take time out of their day to read something when they usually know they aren't going to like it before they've even started, and then take MORE time to write a nasty comment to someone who shared their work FOR FREE. go be miserable somewhere else, thank you!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
yes! all kinds, i suppose. i'm not really sure what that second question means.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
i don't think AUs count as crossovers so ... no? i once had an idea for a 1d/teen wolf crossover a million years ago but that never really made it out of my head much less onto ao3. once upon a time i also had an idea for a jatp/hellcheer crossover ... that could maybe still happen.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
yes. someone once reposted several jatp fics of mine to fucking wattpad (derogatory) and only deleted them after i commented on every. single. one. calling them out for it. wattpad did fucking nothing.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
no, but i've had a couple people ask over the years.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
yes! so far i think the only one that's ever been posted is the only thing i want (when one drop hits my mouth) with my dear friend @cunnninghams, but many fics have been brainstormed over the years with grand plans of one day being written! (the omfd s2 we dreamed up lives on in our hearts if not our memories @magicalrocketships)
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
how DARE u ask me this i refuse to answer on principle.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
ughhhh i don't want to say i'll never finish it but we're edging towards a year since i last updated i roll 'til i change my luck and i just have zero will to go back to it. but! i really don't want to delete it either so we'll just have to wait and see :(
16. What are your writing strengths?
i take very great pride in my dialogue. my sister read one of my works recently and complimented my dialogue and i was all 🥰🥰🥰 over it. i've also had multiple people compliment my ability to write scenes well enough that they can see/hear them in their heads and i absolutely love that because that's exactly how i write!! i have a very vivid imagination and it takes a lot of effort to try and get it right on the page.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
BREVITY.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
english is bad enough i don't need to be stupid in another language.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
once upon a time i wrote self-insert lotr rpf fic that will never, ever see the light of day (shut up i was like eleven) BUT the first fic i actually posted for other people to read (which has subsequently been deleted from internet existence) was a bandom fic specifically about simple plan lmfao
20. Favorite fic you've written?
oh, that's so hard. if i'm going by fandom, for 1d it's these four walls and me bc that fic has a piece of my soul forever. for jatp, it's a tie between coping and stubborn, selfish, easily jealous (the former because it helped soothe the sting of the show getting cancelled, and the latter because i love my stupid fucked up boys who can't get their shit together to say i love you). and for stranger things, it's if we don't leave this town (we might never make it out) because i had the most wonderful time writing it and i'm so glad so many people felt so deeply connected to the story.

My Jatp Fics: Greatest Hits
It's my birthday! It's also roughly the two and a half year anniversary of me joining this Fandom, which feels like a milestone.
As of now, I've written 75 works for Julie and the Phantoms. 75! That's crazy. Sure, I'd say a lot of my strength lies in exploring small ideas, or in condensing a concept into something short, but... 75!
If you're reading this, I love you! There are so many amazing, talented people in this Fandom and to know you even tangentially is a blessing ❤️ I doubt I would've ever written so much if I wasn't surrounded by so many other passionate creatives.

2023 Fic Wrap up
229, 264 words 21 works
Julie and the Phantoms and Juke are still my OTP. I just love them. But I’ve branched out and written quite a bit of Willex, some Rarrie, Peterpatterlina, and even Reggie x Bobby in the current wip.
I even wrote a fic for a different fandom.
I’m not going to link each fic. You can check everything out on my authors page on ao3 if you want. I’m OnlyGenXhere there too.
January – Posted the last chapter/epilogue of Falling Toward the Future. It still remains the longest thing I’ve written and will most likely stay that way for the foreseeable future.
Started the Jukebox Baby series and posted the first two parts of that.
February = Posted parts 3 through 7 of the Jukebox Baby series that ended up including a prequel I’d had no plan to write when I started it.
Happy Birthday Ray was the 1st sequel in the Falling Toward the Future verse that I posted on my own birthday.
March - 1st entry in the Naughty files - Juke (self explanatory)
April - Last entry in the Jukebox Baby series (for now)
Maybe I could be yours which is over 20k of an explicit royalty Juke au (might become part of a series one day)
May - Like Real People Do – Last fic in the Found Family Fluff series (my first jatp fics)
June - An Unlikely Duo is the second sequel in the Falling Toward the Future verse featuring Carrie and Willie being besties.
To Date or Not to Date is my first (and probably only) Teen Wolf fic.
July - Fireworks – 4th of July fic featuring Rarrie, Willex and Juke

August - 2nd entry in the Naughty Files - Juke
Started the Jatp One-shots that are on-going
The Truth is Finally Breaking Through – My entry in the jatp big bang 2023 where I got to colab with an artist and got amazing art to go with this fic.
September - Entries in both the jukebox one-shots and jatp one-shots
October - Started posting a chapter a week of Julie and Luke’s Book of Dares which is still on going.
November - 3rd fic currently in the Naughty Files and my first rukebox fic, also the most explicit thing I’ve ever written.
December into the new year…
Gonna keep posting Julie and Luke’s Book of Dares, hopefully every week till it’s done.
The only other thing very loosely planned for the new year is my gift for my jatp fan fest person in February. I’d like to take a little break from the stress of the big wip and just do some asks and prompts for a bit. And READ everyone else’s wonderful stories.

1. Gravity Falls (honorable mention, Amphibia and Owl House)
I would call GF my perfect show. It's a shared love between me and my sister--I mean, we dressed up as Dipper and Mabel for Halloween one year. We also have watched it so many times that hearing the obscure quotes and references from us is probably painful to anyone else.
2. Doctor Who
I haven't watched DW in agessss but it was really my first entry point to nerdom/connecting to other people like me. I also have lovely memories of watching it after school with my dad.
3. Yuri on Ice!
YOI came at weirdly ideal time in my life. I was basically Yuuri's age and dealing with my own anxiety disorder for the first time, so it was this powerful connection. It also brought me into the world of figure skating, which I still follow loosely!
4. Star Wars Rebels
Rebels wasn't my first Star Wars, but it was my gateway to Star Wars fandom. My first ships and headcanons and fics--all from Rebels! And I'll always be a Rebels stan, sorry Clone Wars girlies (but it's not a fight ilu I promise).
5. Julie and the Phantoms
Look JATP came at another perfect time in my life where I was struggling and it was this bright, beautiful burst of happiness. Honestly the campy, ridiculousness of it all makes it another example of exactly what I want in a show? It also brought me to write fanfic after YEARS of not and an assumption that I never would again.
6. Leverage/Leverage: Redemption
Look. Leverage is just REALLY good. I like found family, I like getting back at evil rich people, I like it all. Kinda a feel good show to go back and watch.
7. Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist
Musical + an exploration of grief is the weirdest, most wonderful combo and basically my dream.
8. New Girl
Absolute comfort show. I wanted to pick something more profound, but man, I have rewatched this one too many times to not include it.

The years-old bags under his eyes that he tells fans are eyeliner stains are even more pronounced than usual. He’s still in his pajamas, a housecoat and slippers thrown on like he’s eighty. He moves slowly down the stairs and slings his guitar strap over his head with a wince. Luke’s skin crawls with worry.
But instead of expressing concern like a good friend, or even like a normal human, Luke says, “Where the hell were you?” and it comes out harsher than he meant it to.

3 - What work are you most proud of?
Oh man this is actually a really tough call this year, but I think I have to go with don't bet your future (till our stars collided). I feel like I did a really good job hitting all of the emotional beats I wanted to, and it just turned out exactly like I'd hoped when I first started it. That almost never happens, but I fell in love with so many things about that story (and its tie-ins) while I was writing.
15 - What WIP are you taking into next year with you?
I don't have anything big that I began in 2022 that is incomplete (my nanowrimo idea got backburnered because it turns out I am NOT in a good mental space for a fic that starts as dark as that one does). I've been poking at a Sandman Morpheus-turns-human idea, but I'm not sure that will go anywhere. The biggest thing is a story I actually started several years ago, a Merlin fic set immediately post-canon. I've got about 12k of REALLY GOOD STUFF (i think), but I haven't picked it up in ages. Hoping my current rewatch gets that going again! I do also have about 10k of a JATP/MCU crossover I'd very much like to finish, but I'm hoping to get that posted before the end of the year.
17 - Your favorite character to write this year?
Gotta go with Reggie. I don't even know how closely my Reggie resembles canon Reggie these days, because I've given him a lot more depth than the show ever did (*insert bitterness here*), but I don't even care, I just love that stupid boy so much. Dream of the Endless is a verrryyyyyy close second, though.
30 - Biggest surprise while writing this year?
Well, first of all, I wrote for The Batman. That definitely took me by surprise, LOL.
But more seriously, I wrote two very long (for me) fics, and I was hella fcking proud of both of them. I still am. I think they're fantastic. For me, as a writer, that...pretty much never happens. And just in general, I think I'm most surprised by how well I've managed to come to terms with writing outside the "popular" things, and still managing to be proud of work that doesn't generate a lot of hits or kudos because it's a rare ship or a dying fandom. Not too long ago, that would have broken me, and I would have spent months questioning my abilities as a writer and wondering if it was worth continuing on. Now, I'm finding the joy in writing things for me, things that make me happy, and being happy with them. That's a huge surprise, tbh.

3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently just Julie and the Phantoms, but in past I wrote primarily for Glee/Glee RPF, and Teen Titans. There's no other fandom really interesting me enough to write for it at moment.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Honestly no I don't. I tried, once upon a time, but I just felt like no one really cared what I had to say, and then I didn't have the spoons for it, so I stopped. I know I should though, my brain just doesn't seem to like letting me.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Hands down it is Haunted by the moments of what we used to be because every comment I got on it was some variation of how very dare you.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Generally I try to give all of my stories a happy ending, but for this one, I'll go with Yellow Wood because it gave everyone a happy ending, no matter the path taken.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Currently no, but when the blacklist was a thing that happened, my name was second on there, so that kind of sucked.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Out of my 84 JatP fics, 24 are rated E, and my smut prompt fills are currently sitting at 80 something chapters, so you tell me. In honesty, I don't write smut as much anymore, as I find it a little more difficult to write and the response to anything rated above a T is vastly lower than anything else. But when I started in this fandom, it was what I was known for; see my point regarding the black list.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I actually kind of hate crossovers? If I'm looking for a fic to read on AO3, I always click the Exclude Crossovers choice. I'll write any and every AU I can, and I might add minor characters from said AU, but that's rare, and that's as close as I get.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Unfortunately yes. There was a person on WattPad who went and stole a bunch of different smutty JatP fics over a year ago, and one of mine was amongst them. They were reported, and the fic was taken down. This is why now my fics on AO3 are only available to registered AO3 users.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but if anyone ever wants to do a translation or podfic of any of my stories, they have my permission as long as they credit me and send me a link afterwards!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, and no one has ever asked. It's something I'd love to try if the chance ever came along, and had the right idea.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? I mean I can't pick just one, I've been involved in fandoms since I was a teenager. Like for Teen Titans Raven/Beast Boy will always own a piece of my soul. In Glee, Kurt/Blaine was such a formative part of my life. And even with Jatp I don't think I could choose between Rulie and PeterPatterLina, they both mean so much to me. And those are just the fandoms I've written for!
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? *looks at my GDocs which is a WiP graveyard* Oh gosh there's so many.
16. What are your writing strengths? My brain is not being kind to me ATM, so I don't think I have any? Like maybe how much I write? Does that count?
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Everything. Editing especially.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I have done this quite a bit, even if it's just plugging what I want to say into Google Translate. So I know it's not entirely accurate, but I think I have been getting better about it.
19. First fandom you wrote for? The first fic I ever wrote that wasn't done like on a dare was a smutty fic for the anime Trigun that still exists on my ff.net page if you find it (no I'm not linking it) that I wrote in high school. It is Not Good.

as per usual that list is too long for this post so here's my 2022 fic roundup
2. Work you are most proud of (and why):
i'm honestly proud of everything i wrote this year so this is fucking impossible!!! i guess if i HAD to pick from jatp, i'd pick coping because it was SUCH a massive project and i'm really, really fucking happy that i a. finished it and b. it was everything i wanted it to be. as for stranger things, if i had to limit myself to picking from my completed works then i'd go with both alike in dignity because idk it felt a little out of the box already even tho it was only my third hellcheer fic!
3. Work you are least proud of (and why):
i really hate this question because as i said before I'M PROUD OF EVERYTHING but if i had to go with a "least best" then i guess braiding my boyfriend's hair (boyfriend reveal!) because i definitely struggled with writing this and i think that's why i haven't returned to this verse since. i do want to go back to it bc i do have more ideas, but writing the filming of youtube videos is fucking impossible good lord.
4. A favorite excerpt of your writing:
when i first started writing if we don't leave this town (we might never make it out), i knew i wanted to have a scene where Eddie had his who did this to you moment and oh MAN it turned out even better than i could've hoped:

when i got fuckin' covid back in april. just EXISTING was hard then.

honestly the fact that i fell so goddamn hard for hellcheer really surprised me because i've been watching stranger things since it started and never gave a DAMN about fic until that stupid metalhead was sweet to the cute cheerleader.
8. How did you grow as a writer this year:
i guess maybe somehow figuring out how to balance several wips at once? it surprises me every goddamn day!
9. How do you hope to grow next year:
i mean, i said last year that i wanted to try some different genres and i think i sort of did that with just try your best (not to get hurt) but i'd really like to push that boundary a little more!
10. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):
i've met so many wonderful people in the hellcheer community who are so loving and supportive and i'm so, so thankful for all of them 💛
11. Anything in your real life show up in your writing this year:
i mean. most of the time when i'm writing Eddie, i feel like i'm just writing a male version of me, so. yeah..
12. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:
i have no new wisdom. only old wisdom: don't compare yourself to other people, it'll only end in pain and frustration. just keep doing what you're doing, try new things, and your writing will grow and improve and you'll be much happier for it.
13. Any new projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:
GOD I HAVE SO MANY!!! i have SO many ideas that are period pieces and i'm just ITCHING to get to start them!!! but first, i must finish my wips. my poor wips.

A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?
I got quite a few that are up there, vying for this spot but I think the fic I'm overall most happy with is Call For a Date, (Don’t) Fall in Love, the fake boyfriend agency willex fake dating to real dating fic. It just delights me whenever I read it, the writing was for once an actual pleasure and not a pain, it's the perfect length for a quick but not too quick comfort read, I love every single scene and the Chaos Curve moments, and that I wrote scenes with five characters that feel organic and not like I forgot half my characters. It's just a very happy fic that did exactly what I wanted it to do.
D: What’s the most personal fanfic you’ve written?

N: Any fic ideas brewing that you’d care to share?
There's not much brewing going on right now. The last one, which is kinda lukewarm at this point (hah! pun) is the one where Luke is the one to survive the fateful hotdog incident because he stays behind to flirt so there's no 'Bobby/Trevor stole our songs' thing.
I also got an elaborate idea about Alex getting thrown out by his parents and ending up getting adopted by the Pattersons which is kinda cheesy and very self-indulgent but I'm not sure I'll ever write that out. For the moment it's just a nice hangout spot for the daydreaming since it's got the angst and comfort and fluff etc. So whatever emotion I need, it got it covered (if that makes sense)
U: Is there a pairing you would like to write, but haven’t tried yet.
Hm ... right now in jatp, not really. I'm perfectly happy in my Alex/Willie corner with occasional daytrips into other Alex related ships
V: Are there certain comments you’ve received on your stories that have stuck with you?
There's definitely a few but my thoughts immediately went to two very different ones. First, the 'nostril flapping' comment a former friend in the MGS fandom wrote on one of my fics (just because that image stuck with me since it's so funny, imagining them sitting there reading my fic and flapping their nostrils at all the outrageous stuff in the fic XD).
And there's one that means so much to me just because it was such a wow moment to receive. It's ony my MGS grief fic Dear Dave:
Where do I begin?
Like an incredible banquet of food I should not have, this fic drew me in with the expectations that I would be overwhelmed at the end, and it did not disappoint.
This brought me back to every voicemail I left my mother when she died. Every email and letter I wrote to her. Every pertinent life event that I wanted to share with her and then could not.
The writing style is amazing, the tidbits believable.
Emotions, tangible.
I have adored every moment spent in Hal's mind, whether it be happy or sad, and every moment in which he lived vicariously through these letters and notes. The hollow permanence of loss is well represented here. There is no fairy godmother, no happy endings in faraway lands. The honesty of the event is that death shreds our existence into something we cannot recognize, and then we must cope.
I realized I have stopped grieving.
Thank you.
I think you can imagine why I treasure this one beyond any of the many amazing comments I've been lucky to receive over the years from friends and strangers.

I have sat on a horse! I actually used to do horseriding from 8-ish to 12 I think. Then it got boring because the place I went to sucked and really only had you arrive, ride, and leave, without any of the caretaking usually.

I was in London when I was a teenager and visited a friend in Dublin a few years ago, and met with friends in Helsinki and went to Sweden with friends also a few years ago. Oh and we went to Croatia in high school for our project week. That's.. 9, not counting Austria of course.

I think it can be really hard to like... give other people the benefit of the doubt and trust them to make their own choices as they see fit and trust them to not leave you for no reason and trust that they actually want to be your friend/whatever and spend time with you and that they mean it when they say that. But well. That's really something you have to learn eventually, because what's the alternative? Pushing everyone away for the rest of your life? doesn't seem like a good way to live.

The Phantoms Watch JatP: I am actually so, so proud of this one and have been considering rereading it for myself because I know I did some really funny shit. It's like the title says but they're in a QPR and aged up quite a few years. It was my very first ever fanfic and I'm happy that it led me to writing as much as I do now.
I'm Underneath the Undertow: This has been such a labour of love and a processing device for some really traumatic shit in my life and I'm so happy that others are enjoying reading it. Basic premise is Reggie supporting Julie through grief (in a platonic friendship - this is important to me) and then Julie and the rest of their friends (and Ray) supporting Reggie through major trauma.
Gem in a Black Leather Jacket: I still can't believe how this one came about. This entire series exists because I was trying to find an organic way for the boys to be introduced to a band I love and connect to them and then it spiraled fantastically. This was such a fun way for me to play with Reggie's bi crisis.
Neurotic to the Bone, No Doubt About it: Some Alex backstory and bonding with Julie wrapped up in the band's love of Green Day and Pansy Division. Also the result of aforementioned band introduction attempt.
Hit Like a Girl: My newest addition to the same band-related series and it was a lot of fun. I wanted a way to plug some women rockers I love, complain about algorithms 😅, and make Carrie a closet metalhead.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? YES! Gosh, I appreciate comments so much and for me, receiving ao3 emails about a writer replying to one of my comments is often almost as great as receiving an email about a comment of my own.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? This is complicated but technically I guess Underneath the Undertow? Even though it doesn't end on angst but there isn't like... a happy resolution to the big trauma. Most of my endings are probably just neutral? I don't actually know (feelings are hard for me).
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hmmm... I guess probably The Phantoms Watch JatP? I only have one plot-driven fic so far but this one ends with a cuddle pile sleepover iirc.
8. Do you get hate on fics? – Not yet. I don't really know whether to expect any or not but I do wrap my politic into my writing so I'm preparing for it to happen eventually. Hopefully with the shrunken fandom I'm safe? We'll see.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Negatory. I've found my way back to reading it but I don't think writing it is within my skillset or comfort zone.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? omg. I'm actually so mad about this. No. I have not. Yet. But a dear mutual (whom I will not tag without their permission) has put a crossover idea into my brain and I HATE IT but it will probably get written eventually so it can leave me in peace.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not yet but I am in the middle of one exploring asexuality that I may co-write with an allo friend because there are too many things I don't think I understand well enough to write how I want to. We shall see. I'm also a bit of a control freak so the premise terrifies me a little bit but also seems fun.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? Oof. Within JatP only? For canon compliant, probably Juke or Rayvorose (I will fight you, I said compliant)? But gosh, I love Willex too. The longer I spend in the fandom, the more ships I love. Polycurve and polyphantoms? Adore. Flarrie. Boggie.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? I don't have high hopes for the one based on an old band vlog. I keep toying around with how to make it work but I think a lot of what I find funny or want to use for the Sunset Curve boys requires video. We'll see though. I thought I'd never get anywhere with my 'Bad Bobby' fic and now I'm... a whole lotta words in.
16. What are your writing strengths? I don't like this question. Not just because I don't know how to compliment myself but because I genuinely do not know. Maybe someone who's read my stuff can share their opinion.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I struggle with connecting scenes and endings. I'm sure there's other stuff too but honestly same note as above. Oh. And titles.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? If it's something I can easily google (not translate but actually get context for) without falling into a deep rabbit hole, I'll do it. But I would generally prefer not to.

20. Favorite fic you've written? Oh. Like of ALL of them or just what's on ao3 so far? Because I'm quite fond of some of my little Tumblr ficlets... 🤔 I need better guidelines! If we go for >1k... AH I still don't know. I'm just gonna say The Phantoms watch Julie and the Phantoms cuz it's been on my brain lately.
