"there's more than that, silly! first though, cake for breakfast?" he asks.
"cake for breakfast!" you nod. he laughs softly then proceeds to cut and serve you the first piece, singing "happy birthday" as he hands your slice to you and serves himself.
"happy birthday, my angel — happy birthday to you!" he finishes the song then takes a bite of cake.

Just loving how clingy r is with her mommy♥️.
Maybe we could see Wanda having a bad day at work and being close to her brothers death anniversary so we see her being slightly harsher than she usually would because of it. R gets upset after Wanda snaps and cry’s to natty desperately needing comfort. Nat obviously gives r that as best as she can but R just sobs bc they want Wanda.
Maybe Wanda over hears Nat reassuring R that her mommy still loves her and explains simply that she’s having a bad day and just needs extra love from their duckling. R would take this in and decide to give her mind and body to Wanda in a hopes to show love by going deep down in sub space and Just clinging to Wanda and trying to be the perfect duckling showering mommy with lots of love

when pietros anniversary comes up, that's when wanda really leans into her sokovian roots. she and her brother might have left that country behind when they were kids, but keeping sokovia alive in her heart feels exactly the same as keeping pietro alive. the week leading up to his anniversary, she makes traditional sokovian meals for dinner, and she explains them all to r with this soft smile on her face that isn't happy, but it's not sad. its grief riddled and it tears both duckling and natasha up because there's nothing they can do to help. they can't bring pietro back, and nothing will restore sokovia to the beautiful country that wanda remembers.
breakfast is always a gamble. wanda always makes pietros favorite foods, and some of them just dont make any sense. they have crepes, porridge, chocolate chip pancakes with rainbow sprinkles. you try not to cry when wanda tells you that every year on their birthday, their parents would make one 'party pancake' and they'd each get a candle to blow out. you couldn't imagine what it would feel like to lose everything that was meant to define you and support you, but wanda has.
when the actual day comes, she's inconsolable. she doesn't cry. she's stopped crying for pietro a long time ago, but she's not herself and even natasha hasn't figured out how to help in their many years of marriage and partnership. you decide to be whatever she wants, slinking into her lap when she falls into bed, letting her hold you and kiss you however soft or deep she needs. natasha always tries to get wanda to talk, but you're more then content to sit in silence.
wanda would want to feel like she has control over something. she had no control over the bombings. no control over pietros death. but, she has control over you when you allow her it. she'll work you into subspace, soft whispers and reassuring gestures until youre just a pliable teddy bear in her lap, glassy and wide eyes staring up at her waiting for whatever she wants. it's not perfect, it might not even be healthy, but for the first time since getting the news, wanda doesn't feel so empty as another full year ends without pietro.
