Hey, it’s the Anon obsessed with “Where the lovelight gleams” again! Just wanted to say I cackled at your recent post about being a dirty liar because “Love came back to me” updated instead! A note of appreciation for that chapter though, when Anthony said “Consider me”, I held my breath, my heart stopped, and I wanted him to tell her so badly that he loved her! Great work, thank you so much.

In the spirit of my usual preoccupation with “Where the lovelight gleams”, any word or snippet you could share with us about the next update? This AU has been such a saving grace, such comfort food and I look forward to it so much. For some reason I really want to see Kate and Anthony cooking in the cabin. Just like Beckett does for Evie! it's so nice to hear from you again! i'm glad it made you laugh, i felt so bad. i had all the intentions of updating love light next but... ah, yeah my mind focused in on the aftermath of chapter 17 since i've had it plotted for soooo long. i'm so happy it's been well received!

but i SWEAR love light it next. i'm actually working on it now ;)

bk borison recently re-released her lovelight series under her new publishing company (yay we love her continued success!) and mixed signals came with a snippet of the next book for charlie x nova and lets say..... it's made me feral. i want to re-read all the books again. they are my comfort. i can't wait for business casual to release.

i love this au i keep coming up with stories for basically all of the bridgerton siblings, and for kanthony once i finish this one. i really want to make this a large on-going series, so i'm glad someone else is enjoying as much as i do!

my best birthdays are the ones i have spent by MYSELF and i cant recommend GIVING UP enough. it is an incredible gesture of self love!!! & if you have been hurt (esp growing up) by holidays & special events it is incredibly powerful to just say NO to celebration

my 20s have been a minefield, there was the birthday i booked an airbnb in niagara falls (my friends didnt show up), the birthday i hosted a house party (i left my own party due to conflict btwn guests), the birthday i tried to host an online dance party (2 of my best friends made other plans & bailed, i cancelled it), the birthday i tried to host a beach day (most recent bday, my friends didnt even reply to my text inviting them)

BUT there was also the bday i biked 100km all alone to my grandparents place (my best friend forgot to wish me happy birthday but i spent the day petting donkeys, eating ladoo, resting at ponds & cornfields, & ended the day playing trivia w grandpa which was a really special experience). & there was the birthday i started a long bike journey (which ended up being 2 months on the road) & ended up impromptu celebrating at an RV park bonfire with these two newfies named kim and willie who fed me nanaimo bars & sang happy birthday & gave me a little present from the tuck shop. & there was my most recent birthday that i made a bet with the lighthouse keeper that i could sleep in the haunted lighthouse no problem. & then i woke up and went on a bike ride with my partner, which actually took an incredible amount of courage to allow but i think was the right choice

ideally, one day i would like to have big birthday parties surrounded by friends who get along with one another and we treat each other well. i know i really really want this because of my envy & against my better judgement i do keep trying. but i dont think it is realistic for me. at least not now or for a long time

korean-american military brat, born in some little ass cornfield town in indiana but started moving around when he was what? seven?

kind of a shy kid which mostly stemmed from (a) being treated weird for being the only asian kid in his otherwise all white first grade glass and (b) the overwhelming experience of moving from indiana to south korea, apparently the motherland but uhhh he couldn’t speak a word of korean ‘cause mom and dad didn’t think it was important to teach him.

so his first experience with korea Fucking Sucked! and then he moved away without any good memories, kept moving every two years ‘cause of dad’s job and i’d love to say that it got easier but it never really did? he started dating when he was real young ‘cause he thought if he could become a popular girl’s boo thing, maybe the rest of the class would like him too idk he was really fucking lame back then (still is) / spent more time gaming than anything else, didn’t really hang out with anyone outside of school (not even his damn girlfriends) so his social skills were underdeveloped / eventually learned how to be funny tho!

ummm an important thing to note i guess is that he’s the typical only-child-used-as-the-therapist trope in which his parents acted like they were happy most of the time (when dad wasn’t screaming his head off over minor inconveniences and mom wasn’t crying in the bathroom but you knowww!) but then every now and then they’d say some really dark shit to him so he had this very hesitant view of life from early on? more observant than he seems, very “well this ain’t gonna be good but as long as i come out alive i guess it’s fine!” type mentality but also he walks on eggshells and can’t admit when he’s wrong which ties back in with his crazy ass parents.

also more intelligent than he seems. was a promising student in elementary & middle school (which is even crazier when you take into consideration that he was being dragged across the globe & feeling like a damn tourist everywhere he went) but then he moved back to sk his freshman year of high school and i meannn... his grades were alright that first year, but they plummeted sophomore year and stayed at the ground through graduation. unfortunately no one seemed to really give enough of a fuck to realize how bad his grades were (’cause at this point mom & dad were too busy fighting over whether or not they were gonna get divorced to look at mouse, the product of #lostlove for more than 30secs) & his teachers had actual KOREAN korean students to worry about helping get into sky schools so mouse was left in the dust.

whatever though! he was having a good time hanging out at shows, scrubbing x’s off his hands in the bathroom, chatting with bands and pretty people who would hardly give him the time of the day! started making himself known in the scene in late 2015/early 2016 even tho he could still barely speak korean and he had a damn curfew and he’s stuck around ever since.

parents moved back to indiana in 2017 but mouse stayed and they didn’t fight to change his mind ‘cause at that point they were all kind of sick of each other anyway idk it’s sad and sometimes mouse wishes things had turned out different or that HE’D been different so maybe they woulda loved him more (obviously he isn’t this much of a victim, it’s just his insecure mentality) but what can you do! he was 18 fighting to find a job that would take him with like... no experience, not fluently speaking korean, still young as hell and he kept bitching about it every chance he got so idk eventually (in 2020) someone finally offered him a job in the scene? fitting because he talks up the bands like crazy, without a doubt you’ll find 15-20 people at any show who say some shit like “i’m here ‘cause of mouse! i thought he was working for the band omg is he not? he’s really just some guy?”

and like he’s happy with his job... he really is... but i’m not gonna lie: he sucks at it. he doesn’t pay performers on time, sometimes he gets the lineup all fucked up and he’ll accidentally have ctrl opening for the here and now, he owes pretty much everyone in the scene money (non-musicians included!), he never gets everything that’s asked for on a band’s rider, sometimes he books decent shows in really shitty venues, ummm one time he booked one hell of a show but then completely forgot to... promote it...

nonetheless, he still has a job? i think it’s because he can be a lot, but he’s the kind of guy who grows on people. even if he pisses everyone off, there’s still an understanding that he IS trying his best to do well & he’s got heart, you know... very passionate, very forward, very determined and he’s still gonna be having a good time through it all! besides, even if he’s not much else, at least he’s consistent <333

as for his personality, he’s the most insufferable punk you’ll ever meet, probably. the type to craft intricate lies for pocket money, the type to put his foot down and say “you know you love me” while never ever saying it back, the type to agree to be the designated sober friend and then get drunker than anybody else, the type to flirt endlessly while not even being smooth (“are we about to kiss right now?” / “god, you want me soooo bad”) and immediately ditch if his flirting ever actually works, simultaneously the type to hook up once and then call confessing his love the next day just to swear he never said SHIT the day after that, the type to prioritize money over (most) friendships, the type to steal your drinks at the bar and promise to buy you another one (he never will), the type to not take anything seriously ‘cause life’s just one big joke anyway. as for the rest... idk, we’ll figure it out together!

CONNECTIONS

001 — a dwindling friendship in which your character is too damn nice for their own good and mouse is never fully appeased. they’ve got to love him with all the shit they’ve tolerated over the months (years, even), but there’s sure to come a time when ‘you know you love me’ / ‘why else would i be doing this?’ will grow old. * maybe he owes them tons of money too idk

002 — the perpetual victim. even when mouse gets back into the swing of things and manages to get everybody paid on time, somehow, your character’s always the one left empty-handed. they’re currently on some kind of point-making ‘strike’ in which they refuse to play a show organized by him until he not only pays them what he owes, but also comes through with all of the rider items he’s shorted them on. fair enough.

003 — your character actually fell for all of mouse’s recycled smooth-talking and almost hooked up with him, but the second they stepped into his apartment, his crazy ass dog bit their calf. the bite “barely scratched the surface!” (as mouse puts it, not wanting this to be made into a big issue) but uhhh now your character wants him to pay their medical bills? AND they’re not interested anymore? man, this is so fucked up!

004 — best friends, but only as long as the gig lasts. maybe they lack chemistry outside of clubs, maybe they’re just too damn different to care to find the time, but as long as they’ve got a live backtrack, no one else could compare. (in other words: bumming drinks and cigarettes off each other, dancing at the back of the crowd, walking each other home. knowing everything and nothing about each other at the same time.)

005 — damn this is kind of a reach but maybe a (slightly) older woman whom he runs crying to every time a minor inconvenience surfaces: a bug in his apartment (“how do i kill it? should i kill it, or is that wrong? god, i don’t want to touch it!”), a pack of instant noodles (“can’t you cook them for me?”), pocket money shortages (“c’mon, i’ll pay you back, you know i will!”). think it’d be fun if your character’s tired of him but tolerates him all the same, maternal instincts and all.

006 — tough love distant friend type? your character was one of the first people that mouse introduced himself to way back when & considering how they’ve watched him grow from an awkward, aggressively-people-pleasing sixteen year old to this insufferable punk who can’t help but push his luck, they feel somewhat responsible for him. they have good advice to offer, but too bad mouse always lets their words go in one ear and out the other.

007 — friends with potential to be more if mouse would stop fucking around on dating apps and indulging in hookup culture? aka he’s into your character but he’d rather sit just a little too close to them at the bar and make sardonic jokes all night than ever address the elephant in the room ‘cause god forbid (a) they don’t like him back and his ego has to take a hit or (b) he has to 🤢 actually work on self-improvement??? 🤢 the vibes: windbreaker & baby boy by choker, blood bank by bon iver, 911 / mr lonely by tyler the creator depending on the direction it’s taken in

other — random people he owes money to / the one person who wants to kick his ass on everybody else’s behalf so yk at this point it’s just a matter of time / a couple people he talks big to on social media and/or dating apps but ignores irl / the one musician bestie he’s always side-stage for and especially always helping pack up at the end of the gig / someone somewhat new to the scene who’s already been screwed over by him and doesn’t understand why people like him or why he has a job LMAOOO maybe they can scrap it out by the merch table???

💕 N- If you want to know how I treat my friends

I adore all my friends 💗 Like there’s literally nothing I wouldn’t do for them if they needed me. That being said I know the primary source of communication is texting and stuff (which I suck at) but they accept me and love me for who I am so whenever I’m online they’re happy to see me. Irl/facetime is different since I could hold long convos about everything.

I adore things they give me or if they reach out. Like I keep so many trinkets of them. Even a napkin my friend drew on for me when we were eating together at a boba shop (it’s clean and crisp don’t worry. It’s in a collection box smwhere in my closet) I think about them a lot at a reference I remember too. Like if I see something on the streets I’m like ‘my friend would’ve liked to see that cat’ or ‘hey that’s the movie my friend talked about the other day!’

If they’re busy and need space I understand that too. Like I know we don’t have to text everyday to know we care about each other. Or sometimes life keeps us busy and we drift apart. I still appreciate them for the memories we had and I know in the future down the road we’ll meet up again. I also reminisce past friendships a lot. I don’t ever remember ending something on a bad term (maybe one in elementary but we made up again). I think about them probably way more than they think.

This also goes for moots! I don’t talk to some as much anymore but I still consider them a moot. I just kinda remember things and treasure them for a long time. (I’m pretty sure it’s my Cancer moon lol)

💕 R - For me to tell 10 of my curiosities

1 - For ask games I tend to think out my answers a lot to the point that I over answer stuff lol (I realized this when I looked at my long answer for N)

2 - I was such a big Taylor Swift fan when I was younger. She was what inspired me to play guitar and sing a lot (when I found out about her cap stellium and cancer moon too? I swooned) She also high fived my hand at a concert I went to (tbf tho she did that with most of the fans in the row)

3 - I attended swim class when I was younger at this place that gave ribbons for awards. I was so determined to gain all those ribbons!! They were so colorful :D (When my sister went to the same place they changed the ribbon system and it was less colorful then. I think I cried cause I was so sad)

4 - I have two dogs who I adore 💗 They’re both maltipoos and they’re brothers but from different litters. (I’ll make a post about them soon if I get a good pic lol)

5 - I’m thinking of an Olivia Rodrigo song rn. But this made me think of the first time I saw her in the American girl movie Grace Stirs up success! I just thought it was fun seeing her grow up in her acting career.

6 - I’m closer to my mom than I am my dad. (Also got sun square moon in natal) I could tell my mom anything, she’s the best :D (also I love her placements. She has a Virgo moon which matches 2 of my bsfs lol)

7 - I got into astrology cause of a post I saw about these youtubers I follow as well as their friendship synastry. And then I got into a fandom discord server and the astrology chat was a goldmine of learning! And then I found out about astro tumblr lol. The rest is history :D

8 - I can’t handle horror movies. It’s different with horror stories tho, altho I still try avoid reading those too. However if horror is involved with plot (when it’s not primarily horror? If that makes sense) I’d still love to read it!

9 - I visited Disneyland a lot as a kid. I basically grew up with Disney. Favorite characters as a kid were Chip n’ Dale. I got the Dale stuffie, and my sister got the Chip one. We watched the original cartoons for them too cause we loved them so much. They’re literally our childhood 💗

10 - I’m into Harry Potter yet never read the series or saw most of the movies (the ending of the last movie was on tv and my dad played it cause he knew I liked hp. I don’t think that counted) Plus I watched the first movie in middle school which I don’t really remember. I got into the fandom thru tumblr and seeing fanart + fanfics. Doesn’t mean I’m not an actual fan tho. I know a lot of trivia and hp terms and plot. Also have ravenclaw merch and my friend made me a wand and a box! Literally it’s beautiful 💗 For my bday gift she painted the box to be from the shop Ollivander’s (the shop Harry got his wand from) and she made a certificate and wand and everything!! All handmade 💗 and I adore her for that! Shoutout to Nika!! She’s one of the most artistic and creative people I know

My grandpa lol. I was walking my dog and called him saying that we were coming to visit him :D He had a hard time hearing me tho cause of the wind and stuff. We have a family dinner every Saturday 💗

i love love LOVED chenle's part of the clickbait series, and ngl the descriptions of the pastas were SO tempting 😩 i genuinely wheezed at the comments from the others in the end. chenle said that he wants to go to uni and get a girlfriend so, i hope his moment comes soon!! 🤭 maybe if possible miss cat, share some of your thoughts or any trivia behind the fic 🥺 also, jisung being the mastermind (with hyuck) was ON POINT i mean he's a big boi now (p.s. - i love you <3)

unmentioned facts about the characters:

the idea of worth it came after chenle kept taking y/n to his favorite food places in the city and they were all hella expensive places, meanwhile y/n took him to her own favorite places which were more in the average price range, and that sparked a debate between the two of them over if more expensive food tastes better or not and that’s how the channel started

hyuck actually knows a lot of good restaurants, so quite a few of the places they go to are suggested by him

when they do worth it episodes that need more people, like potlucks or family style meals, everyone happily participates and can be seen in those videos 💓

mark’s y/n features in some of their videos, specifically for ones that involves baked goods 🍪

chenle and y/n are taste testers in dream unsolved’s apple tater making video! mark’s y/n is also there to supervise, and she’s the one who actually created the recipe for them

chenle has been trying to convince renjun to do an unsolved x worth it crossover for months now but renjun refuses because having a second person (or maybe third since hyuck who’s the unsolved cameraman is also there) scaring him on the show is too much. plus, chenle isn’t even cute enough for him to tolerate that (unlike renjun’s y/n 👀)

this was supposed to be done in time for his bday in kst time aka last saturday, but I got distracted by hockey player winwin, so I didn’t finish writing the rest of it until monday morning during my client meetings

Namjoon perform Persona where Mase comes out to rap the 2nd pt then after the song sudden changed to bridge pt of trivia love where Maia sings. Now the members are fluster and kind of expect of what their kids might do. Jin sings Moon where Kade&Carson comes to join him and hug him. 1/3

- Clichés are clichés for a reason. So don’t hate me when I say that I can definitely see Brian taking his partner out for a cute, simple stargazing date

- You’d walk hand-in-hand to some secluded park, laying down a picnic blanket and nibbling on some gorgeous food, drinking champagne after a toast of course

- He’d tell you about the constellations, and it was just so cute the way he lit up. Of course, you thought that was the best birthday present to see him so happy and content

- He’d probably get you something really meaningful and romantic, like a piece of gorgeous jewellery, even going to the extent to get it engraved for you
