KRUSH on “After Mom Falls Asleep”

a/n - thanks for the request, anon ! i didn’t really know a lot about this show, but then i looked it up & shkhjfhfjg this is gonna be so chaotic i can already tell (sorry this took so long btw)

prompt - the girls of KRUSH are featured on their 1st reality show, & shit gets messy (literally and figuratively) real quick

“2... 3...” kaleina whispered, which was rather unusual considering the fact that she usually said it much louder. but, considering their circumstances, there was no way they were going to fail when the show just started. “we’re your crush ! hello, we are KRUSH !” the 4 girls introduced themselves, resorting to whisper-yelling instead of saying it like they normally would, as - like mentioned before - they didn’t want to fail when it had only been a few seconds.

“everyone,” chanhee whispered. “welcome to KRUSH’s late night baking party !” the 4 girls erupted into quiet cheers, while also trying to hold in their laughter at how stupid they were being. “today we’re making...” aeri said. she paused so the girls could do a makeshift silent drumroll. “macarons !” all 4 girls said in unison, still trying to stay as quiet as possible. however, they almost failed because of aeri’s slight lack of volume control, which caused their “mother” to stir in her sleep. the other members looked at aeri with furrowed eyebrows & looks of disbelief, and chanhee had even hit her on the shoulder. “sorry !” the korean-japanese girl whispered, causing the maknaes of KRUSH to burst into giggles.

“mom is sleeping right next to us, so we need to be very quiet.” moonsun explained. her unnies couldn’t help but laugh at the way she exaggerated the “very” in her sentence. “should we start ?” kaleina asked her bandmates. they all responded with an ecstatic “yes,” but they almost woke their “mom” up for the second time. out of embarrassment, moonsun & aeri covered their mouths and desperately tried not to laugh, while chanhee just playfully rolled her eyes. kaleina had to bury her face in her hands since the leader of KRUSH was trying the hardest to not laugh, the girl turning away from the camera entirely.

after the “giggle fest,” the girls had finally gotten to work. “every ingredient is here, but we need to gather our utensils first.” aeri said. “and, unfortunately, that’s the hardest part.” the girl shot a forced smile at the camera, clearly concealing her inner torment. “moonie, can you get the mixing bowl ?” chanhee whispered. moonsun simply put up a thumbs up, crouching down to reach the cabinet. she slowly opened the cabinet’s wooden door to ensure that no noise got out, but unfortunately, the universe wasn’t on moonsun’s side at that moment. the small door made an ear wrenching creaking sound, one that made all 4 girls cringe.

“it’s so creaky...” moonsun said, looking up at her 3 unnies. “faster, then.” kaleina said. the leader’s words confused moonsun, the young girl still staring with a look of “totally lost” obvious on her face. “open it faster.” chanhee added to kaleina’s words, & it made a lot more sense after she did so. moonsun finally understood, mouthing ‘oh !’ as she turned to look at the godforsaken cabinet door again. instead of opening it at a turtle’s pace like before, moonsun simply flung the door open. the maknae of KRUSH was afraid that it was going to crash into something, but the universe was finally on her side in that case. the door stopped halfway, & there wasn’t anything for it to crash into even if it did keep going.

moonsun let out a sigh of relief at that, the girl placing a hand on her erratically beating heart. “it’s all good.” she whispered, making the other members smile with adoration. moonsun carefully dragged the metal bowl out with her finger, & as the anticipation rose, a sound measuring bar appeared on the screen. “slowly...” the captions read. the other 3 girls watched closely, their anticipation (as well as boredom and irritation) also rising. “yah, why does the hardest part have to be at the beginning ?” aeri whispered, crossing her arms. “it’s better that way.” kaleina answered, her eyes still locked on moonsun. “would you rather it be at the very end ?” aeri huffed, only getting more stressed out. “not at all !” the short-haired girl replied. “i just don’t need all this stress so early on !”

all kaleina did was laugh at her best friend’s words before focusing on moonsun. the black-haired girl had almost got the bowl out, half of it hanging out the cabinet’s doorframe. moonsun was just about to place her hand on its side & claim her success, but she took her finger out the bowl a little too early. it toppled off the cabinet’s shelf and onto the floor, causing a loud noise to echo throughout the house. moonsun practically jumped back, flinching at the sound. the sound meter turned red, and the girls’ “mom” stirred once again. KRUSH’s maknae was clearly embarrassed, the young girl’s face in her hands. “aish...” kaleina said with a semi-playful roll of her eyes, her busan accent slipping into her words. “ah, i knew this would happen !” aeri exclaimed.

moonsun came back with a crab hat around her head & a slight pout on her face, and the other members of KRUSH couldn’t stop laughing. “stop it.” moonsun said, her harsh tone ruined by the laugh she wanted to let out. “the first penalty; crab hat.” the captions read. kaleina turned to look at the camera, holding the metal bowl in her hands. “everyone, we’ve got our bowl !” she whisper yelled. a cheering sound effect and colorful confetti was edited in, on behalf of the lack of cheering KRUSH could actually do. kaleina set the bowl back on the table, but made a significant amount of noise when she did. the girl froze, her hands tightly gripping the rim of the bowl. “sorry.” kaleina simply said, making her fellow bandmates laugh. “now,” aeri picked up where her best friend left off. “we start with the egg whites.”

chanhee carefully took the glass bowl from aeri before pouring the egg into the larger metal one. KRUSH’s oldest picked up the pale blue electric hand mixer, but instead of doing what she was supposed to do, she held the mixer next to her face, put a hand under her chin, & smiled. the editors took it one step further by adding sparkles around her face. “the oldest is the coolest.” a caption read. chanhee’s dongsaengs burst into quiet giggles at her antics. finally, the girl decided to do her job, placing the mixer into the bowl of egg whites, flipping its switch, and letting the mixer come to life. soft clinking & whirring sounds were heard as chanhee mixed the eggs. “do you feel the tingles, everyone ?” moonsun asked, looking towards the camera.

the other 3 girls tried to suppress their giggles after hearing the maknae’s question. “i’m sure they do, moon.” kaleina responded. that only made the girls laugh harder, which made it a lot more difficult for them to not make too much noise. “we do.” a caption read, which only made the whole situation funnier. chanhee ended up turning up the speed of the mixer to speed up the process, but that only increased the amount of noise. “ah, unnie. that’s too loud.” aeri pointed out, reaching towards the bowl of half-mixed egg whites. “it is ?” chanhee asked, completely oblivious. you really couldn’t tell if she was faking it or not. “yes !” kaleina whisper-yelled, sounding like she was slightly annoyed at chanhee’s obliviousness. KRUSH’s oldest ended up turning down the speed, momentarily reducing the noise. however, it was only momentarily.

chanhee accidentally shifted the mixer a little too much, causing the bowl to tip over slightly & causing half-mixed egg white to escape it. the girls were startled, with chanhee’s mouth forming into an “o,” kaleina jumping back a bit, and moonsun flinching. however, the funniest reaction was from none other than aeri. the korean-japanese girl practically flew backwards, letting out a shrill scream in the process. not only did aeri fail, but she also got egg whites on her clothes. chanhee looked over at the girl, wanting to laugh. instead, she simply scolded her. “why...?” chanhee asked, her jeolla accent slightly present in her words. aeri laughed nervously, not even knowing how to answer her unnie’s question. she just looked towards the camera, her lips forming into a pout. “it even stained my clothes.” the girl said, disappointment in her voice.

aeri came back wearing a pair of “disguise glasses,” looking even dumber than moonsun. the short-haired girl simply smiled, attempting to own her new accessory. moonsun, however, was busy laughing at her. “you have no right to laugh, crab face.” aeri whisper-yelled. moonsun immediately stopped laughing after hearing those words, staring her unnie down. “yah !” she retorted. kaleina & chanhee had started laughing after hearing moonsun and aeri’s banter, and kaleina was giggling so hard that she almost dropped the bowl of finished egg whites that she was pouring into the dry ingredients.

the scene changed, & the girls of KRUSH had finally finished their macaron batter. they were neatly spread across a baking sheet, the bright red batter formed into perfect circles. “everyone, our batter is finished !” kaleina exclaimed. the 4 girls let out quiet cheers at her words. “the hard part is over !” aeri added, only making her bandmates struggle to suppress their laughs all over again. “let us congratulate ourselves with a celebratory dance.” kaleina whispered. music was soon filling the ears of viewers, and it was a tune that KRUSH’s fans were all too familiar with. it was the delicate EDM tune of “ANIMA.” the 4 girls danced to the 1st part of the chorus, all while (still) trying not to laugh.

the scene then changed, cutting to where the group’s maknae was speaking. “now, we are going to bake it & get ready to eat deliciously.” moonsun stated, handing the baking tray over to aeri. “aeri-ah, will you put the tray in the oven for us ?” chanhee asked. aeri nodded enthusiastically in response. the girl flung open the oven door, and it unfortunately let out a single, rather loud creak that had the girls cringing all over again. fortunately, though, that didn’t result in aeri’s second failure. “still in the safe zone.” captions read. aeri carefully pushed the tray inside, closed the oven door, & let out a sigh of relief. “i did it !” she exclaimed, her brown eyes sparkling with pride. the editors clearly saw the galaxy that was in aeri’s eyes, as they added stars around her head. funnily enough, though, they faded away once kaleina started speaking.

“unnie, turn it on.” the leader whispered. aeri turned around, and finally realized that the oven’s inside was completely black. embarrassed & disappointed, the korean-japanese girl held her face in her hands, crouching down on the ground. aeri’s reaction to kaleina’s words at the other girls trying to suppress their laughter again, with all of them bumping into each other. the camera panned to their “mom,” who was even laughing while sleeping. “mom even finds it funny.” the captions read. in the next scene, the girls of KRUSH were frosting their freshly baked macarons, casually whisper-humming their new song. “shameless self promotion...” a caption appeared on the screen.

“chocolate !” moonsun exclaimed, holding up her chocolate frosting-filled piping back. “i love chocolate.” kaleina whispered, squeezing the frosting out onto the bright red cookie. the camera panned to chanhee, who was scooping something onto her macaron. “this one has strawberry sauce.” KRUSH’s oldest said, holding up her spoon that was topped with said sauce. the camera finally made its way to aeri, who was laser focused on frosting her macaron. “intense concentration.” a caption - appearing next to the girl’s face - read. seconds later, aeri was proudly displaying the bottom half of her macaron for the world to see. the frosting was as cut as she was, taking the shape of a heart. “i love you.” the caption read, seemingly being a message from aeri to KRUSH’s fans.

the 4 idols reappeared in the house’s living room, all crowded around a long wooden table. their plate of perfectly stacked macarons was sitting idle on top of it, as well as 4 cute mugs filled with milk. “the macarons are finished !” kaleina exclaimed. the girls whisper-cheered yet again, congratulating themselves for the 2nd time. “everyone, we will eat well.” chanhee whispered, pointing towards the camera. “thank you for the food !” the girls whisper-yelled in unison. even their “mom” was in the background, mouth wide open like she was yelling with them. the 4 girls kept whisper-yelling for quite some time, the seconds ticking by without them stopping. “if you listen close enough, you can hear them from space...” captions read, adding to the humor once again. the girls just kept on quietly yelling, & it was clear that they didn’t want to stop. however, the editors had more than enough.

the screen suddenly went black, the words “you can stop now...” appearing on screen. the girls returned after a few seconds, & were seen finally indulging in their homemade pastries. aeri took a bite and her brown eyes immediately widened. she nodded in satisfaction, not needing to make a sound to show her contentment. “the strawberry and chocolate is really good.” kaleina spoke, the girl already onto her second macaron. chanhee was holding the mic pack up to moonsun’s lips, the girl preparing to take a bite. “A-S-M-R.” she whispered, before slowly taking a bite of the red pastry. a satisfying soft crunching sound made its way towards the mic, surely sending chills down the spine of anyone who was listening. “ASMR with park moonsun.” the captions read.

the girl took a sip of milk, the gulp being picked up by the mic, as well. “ah...” moonsun let out a sound of satisfaction. “delicious.” chanhee & moonsun couldn’t help but laugh at her words, but like before, they had to try their hardest to hold it in. “‘how was it like preparing for your comeback?’” kaleina whispered, catching her bandmates’ attention. chanhee was the first to answer the question. “it took a lot of effort because the dance was quite hard.” KRUSH’s eldest responded. kaleina had a cheeky smile on her face after hearing chanhee’s words. “not for me.” she whispered, causing chanhee to side eye her (semi-)playfully. the girl shoved kaleina in the shoulder, making her topple over & causing her to burst into a fit of giggles.

“it took longer than normal, but it was a really interesting process.” aeri answered. “filming the story arc was really fun.” kaleina added to aeri’s words after taking a bite of her macaron. “especially since it was connected to BTS’s storyline.” KRUSH’s leader stated, making her bandmates quietly hum in agreement. the girls went onto their next question, with moonsun reading it this time. “‘what idol would you like to become friends with as you promote ?’” the maknae whispered. “i don’t really know.” chanhee answered with a quiet laugh. “maybe the members of MOMOLAND. they seem really fun.” kaleina said, practically answering for KRUSH’s oldest. aeri answered after her, placing her mug back on the table after taking a sip. “i would like to get to know LOONA.” the short-haired girl whispered. her answer caused the other members to ‘ah !’ in agreement.

“their music is good !” kaleina exclaimed. funnily enough, it cut to the 4 idols whisper-singing the chorus of “Hi High.” the scene changed yet again, & instead of the girls’ whispering voices, there was complete silence. they were suddenly more focused on eating instead of answering questions it seemed. “the macarons are too good.” the captions read. the camera had focused on aeri, who had sat the mic pack upright. she had a macaron in her hand, getting ready to take a bite of the frosting-filled pastry. however, the universe wasn’t on her side again. aeri had leaned forwards & towards the mic, but she leaned a little too forward, her glasses falling off her face and crashing into the table. not only did it make a sound when doing that, but it was a double kill when it fell onto the floor. aeri screwed her eyes shut, heat already starting to rise to her cheeks.

“again ?” moonsun asked, disbelief clear in her voice. “unfortunately...” aeri whispered, resorting to stuffing her macaron in her mouth after her failed attempt at ASMR. “she just can’t be quiet, can she ?” the girls’ “mother” asked. the camera panned to chanhee, who was shaking her head “no” in response. aeri returned with a bright yellow flower around her face, and returned with a smile threatening to make its way onto said face. kaleina had a big smile on her face as she tried not to laugh once again. “flower head,” the leader of KRUSH whispered, gesturing to aeri. “crab head.” kaleina gestured to moonsun, who just rolled her eyes & continued eating. “shut up.” aeri said, not even bothering to look at her dongsaeng. all kaleina did was let out a cheeky giggle.

“onto our last question,” chanhee whispered. “‘what song do you tend to listen to recently ?’” aeri was the first to answer that one. “lots of japanese city pop.” the short-haired girl responded. “it’s better since i can understand it.” aeri cheekily smiled before taking a bite of yet another macaron. “TWICE’s ‘What is Love?’ is good.” kaleina whispered as she took her “only God knows” macaron from the plate. aeri started humming the iconic line from the song’s chorus, before both her & kaleina whisper-sang the “what is love?” in unison and burst into giggles. “i find myself listening to a lot of ariana grande.” chanhee answered. “‘Break Free’ is my favorite at the moment.” the answers the girls gave were mostly normal, but moonsun was about to throw normalcy out the window.

“KRUSH’s ‘ANIMA’ is a good one.” the maknae whispered, a small smirk starting to form on her face. that had the girl’s unnies bursting into quiet giggles, however, it seemed like kaleina couldn’t stay quiet. the leader was in the midst of drinking her milk, & she spit it out once moonsun made that joke, a loud noise accompanying her stupid action. so, not only was milk dripping into kaleina’s hand, but she was also about to receive her first penalty. “no !” kaleina whined, a pout wanting to form on her face. aeri was busy giggling, watching as milk continued to drip into her best friend’s hand. “it’s even in her hand.” she whispered to her 2 other bandmates. kaleina returned with a copious amount of blush on her cheeks, & moonsun was only adding more.

“well, today’s episode has come to an end.” kaleina whispered, trying to tolerate the aggressive movements of the makeup brush. “do you girls have anything to say ?” KRUSH’s oldest spoke first. “i want to thank the producers for allowing us to be on this show, & i’m glad it was our first.” chanhee stated. “i’m also glad that i was the only one who didn’t get a penalty.” chanhee was the one with a cheeky, prideful smile on her face this time, and it had all the reason to be there. “chanhee, 20. the one who got away.” captions read, making everything funnier yet again. kaleina spoke next, & the teenager was still dealing with the onslaught of blush moonsun was applying to her face. “this was a really fun experience and i thoroughly enjoyed it.” KRUSH’s leader said. “thank you to the-“

kaleina ended up cutting herself off, as moonsun’s constant “blush assault” was getting quite annoying. “yah, you can stop.” she snapped, her busan accent prominent. “kyung-ja, 18. busan blush girl.” a caption read. moonsun immediately retracted the brush from kaleina’s face, but as soon as the girl turned her head, she quickly slammed it onto her face. kaleina simply ignored it, wanting to laugh but also wanting to kick moonsun into the sun. “like i was saying,” kaleina whispered, passive aggressiveness obvious in her voice. that certainly made her bandmates giggle. “thank you to the producers for inviting us. i hope we can come again.” soon enough, it was aeri’s turn. “this was a great opportunity to bake with my bandmates since we don’t get that chance often.” the korean-japanese girl whispered. “like kaleina said, it was a fun experience. and although i ate so much sugar that i feel like i’m going to explode, it’s all good.”

aeri’s seemingly forced smile had her fellow members in a fit of giggles for the millionth time that day. finally, it got down to moonsun. “i hope everyone watching had just as much of a great time as we did, & i would love to come back again.” the group’s maknae simply said, a soft smile puffing up her cheeks. “everyone, please give our new song, ‘ANIMA,’ lots of love.” kaleina whispered. “we’re the 32nd guest of the show, KRUSH.” the 4 girls all joined in to bid goodbye to the viewers. “you’re our KRUSH !” they whispered in unison. “bye !” that wasn’t the end of the episode, however, as the girls of KRUSH still had to say the show’s trademark line.

“we ate well in secret !!” they enthusiastically exclaimed, & with that, the screen faded to black.

“ANIMA” @ SHOW! MUSIC CORE

[ 12:00 pm - show! music core ]

as the 4 girls of KRUSH walked down the hallways of Show! Music Core’s building, their voices echoed throughout the corridors. they were loud, pretty, and matched perfectly with each other, despite being slightly shaking as a result of the nervousness they were feeling at the moment. the girls were singing “Take My Hand” at the top of their lungs, as the song was one of unity and reassurance, & the girls really needed that. as the 4 idols and their staff neared the door with the steps leading towards the Show! Music Core stage behind it, aeri belted out her high note, impressing her bandmates and making them “ooh !” in awe.

“yah, how’d you do that ?” chanhee asked. her question made aeri quite flustered, the short-haired girl letting out a bashful giggle. “you’re going to sound the best up there, i can already tell.” chanhee’s 3 dongsaengs, especially aeri, erupted into giggles. those giggles were cut short once a staff member came close, letting the 4 idols know that time had ticked down to only 5 minutes before their performance. kaleina nodded in response, & her leader tendencies immediately kicked into gear. she motioned for the others to come closer, as if it was instinct, they were in their classic huddle in an instant. “we’ve made it, everyone. our 2nd comeback.” kaleina started.

no one really reacted at first, minus chanhee and aeri giving acknowledging smiles, but when moonsun suddenly started cheering, that had sparked a chain reaction. that little moment made kaleina smile. “i know, exciting.” she continued. “like i’ve said countless times before, our fans have our backs. the support was there during our tour, & i’m 100% sure that it’s here now.” the other members of KRUSH nodded in response, taking in their leader’s words because they knew it was something they needed to hear. “they’ve been waiting for this one for a long time, anyways.” chanhee added, making her bandmates burst into laughter. “ah, i know right ?” kaleina said, a smile on her face. “they blew this one up !” aeri exclaimed. “that’s how ready they were !”

“see ?” kaleina said. “the support for us is there. they’re going to love us.” like before, the girls nodded, letting kaleina know that they were listening as best as they could. “but, like always, just focus on making this stage better than the last, okay ?” the other 3 members of KRUSH responded with okays & yeses, then watched as kaleina put her hand in the middle of the huddle, initiating their favorite part: their group chant. “2... 3...” kaleina started. like always, the other girls joined in, their enthusiastic but slightly nervous voices echoing throughout the dimly lit area. “let’s KRUSH it !!” the girls yelled. immediately after, kaleina let out a sigh of both relief and pure nervousness, trying to let go of some of the frustrations she had as KRUSH’s leader.

moments before the time the girls were set to go on, they took the time left to make sure both their bodies & minds were ready for what was ahead. chanhee had taken her last few sips of coffee, aeri had gotten one last massage, and kaleina had engulfed moonsun in a comforting hug, as the group’s maknae was the one plagued with the most nerves. “you’ll be alright. we all will.” kaleina reassured. moonsun nodded, holding those words close to her heart. then, finally, the time had come. those 5 minutes were up, and the 4 girls had to step onto that stage and give it their all. as they were walking up the steps, dayoung called out to them, making sure to give them one last piece of encouragement. “KRUSH, hwaiting !” dayoung exclaimed, making the girls smile brightly. it was obvious they appreciated the gesture, and they yelled back a “hwaiting !” in return.

the girls of KRUSH walked across the stage, smiling at the cheers they recieved from their fans in the crowd. they bowed as thanks, before easing into their starting pose like they’ve done a million times before. the stage KRUSH was performing on was as good (and as expensive) as the others, featuring yet another chandelier hanging from the ceiling. the lights & the background were a pretty light blue, and the stage floor was actually glass. albeit quite thick so the girls wouldn’t smash it, but glass nonetheless, depicting the reoccurring mirror theme. there were also large mirrors on each side of the stage, those nicely rimmed with gold. they were reflecting the red & gray glow of the tour lightsticks their fans were holding, making the surfaces of the mirrors look like there was an entire galaxy on the other side.

the 4 girls were so caught up in standing perfectly still and listening to a combination of silence, faint cheers, and white noise, that when the countdown finally started, it had startled them a bit. “5... 4... 3...” a staff member said, the girls hearing every number through their in-ears. within those last 5 seconds, the 4 girls had to take deep breaths, internally preparing themselves for their most anticipated performance yet. they heard the cheers of their fans grow louder with anticipation, & needless to say, it only made KRUSH a lot more eager to give them something good. “2... 1...” the staff had ended the countdown, then the music finally started. in contrast to the crowd’s loud cheers, the music was soft & calming, matching the gracefulness that was KRUSH’s intro.

the girls slowly walked forward, every motion they did in perfect sync. they slowly raised their heads together, looked up towards the ceiling together, & raised their arms together. suddenly, they dragged their arms back, placing both hands onto their chest. with a small, gentle pop of their chests, the 4 girls placed their hands at their sides, but only for a few seconds. before anyone knew it, they were forming a circle with their bodies, their backs turned against each other & their raised hands all meeting in the center. there was a short pause in the music, only increasing the amount of anticipation the crowd was feeling. the build up came, slowly but surely, and finally, the beat dropped.

the girls slid gracefully into their next move, which was reminiscent of a ballerina pose. they had one arm raised & one leg stuck out delicately as they looked towards the ceiling. they quickly turned to their sides, each pair facing each other, their hands laced together. they extended one arm once again, seemingly tapping the air with one of their fingers. they extended their arms further, looking as if they were reaching for something. the girls drew their arms back in, their hands landing near kaleina’s chest while said girl’s own hands landed directly on her chest. the 4 idols formed yet another circle, reaching out to seemingly grab something yet again. they gracefully bent down, their bodies curling just slightly.

the girls got up, immediately turning to face each other while still keeping the circle together. they placed their hands in the middle, their palms resting against each other. interestingly enough, it was like the 4 girls were staring directly into a mirror. they raised their arms high into the air, lifting up one of their legs just a bit, before thrusting their arms down & breaking the circle. at that moment, the music slowed down, it coming to a gradual end. the 4 girls of KRUSH slowly dragged their arms back in, letting their hands rest near kaleina’s chest. they were all looking down at the stage floor, waiting with the same amount of anticipation as the crowd.

the faint cheers of said crowd were heard, breaking through the momentary silence. then, it started. the graceful tune of “ANIMA” rang throughout the area, causing the audience to drastically increase in volume. the girls slowly looked up, their ethereal visuals & facial expressions already adding so much to the performance. the first piano note of the intro played, and the girls raised their arms outward, the simple move delicate and graceful. immediately after, the second note played, & the 4 slowly raised their arms inward, forming some type of pyramid. seconds later, the girls switched positions, leaving aeri to take the center. while aeri was standing, kaleina, moonsun, and L.I. laying on the ground behind her, forming a half circle.

aeri’s soft voice rang out into the area, her live vocals strong & stable. the crowd was elated to hear her, cheering the second they heard her voice. aeri was simply slowly walking forward as she sang, her hands on her chest as she looked down at the stage floor. the short-haired idol put her hands in a prayer formation, raising them into the air in a quick but smooth motion before slowly thrusting her arms back down. the 3 other members followed her movements, achieving perfect sync flawlessly. aeri trailed her hands across her body, as if she was giving herself a hug, & of course, the other girls did the same. aeri continued singing, raising her arms up with her wrists perfectly crossed, and - like always - the other members followed suit.

as aeri finished her lines, she thrusted her arms down, but had them crossed over her knees in a split second. instead of doing that, the girls in the back left their arms on the ground, & they only got up once aeri sang her very last word. once that happened, aeri also got up, her arms extended towards the camera. her piercing, longing gaze finally met its lens, certainly making anyone watching go crazy. aeri walked off to the side, leaving L.I. to take the center in between kaleina & moonsun. KRUSH’s oldest started to sing, her mature vocals sending chills down the sounds of the audience. the girls’ backs were still towards the camera as L.I. raised her arms, wrists perfectly crossed like before. she then thrusted them down, the move slow and graceful, which had kaleina and moonsun thrusting down on of their arms, as well.

as she continued singing, L.I. thrusted her arms out, one raised & one facing the stage floor. they replicated a typical ballerina stance, forming a perfect line. kaleina and moonsun rushed to softly grab onto L.I.’s arms, finally giving the camera a pleasing glimpse of their faces. the maknaes of KRUSH had to let go, though, as L.I. quickly spun around, hitting the viewers & the audience hard with her sudden onslaught of visuals. she raised her arms up, wrists perfectly crossed like always, allowing kaleina and moonsun to form a pyramid with their arms. they quickly thrusted their arms down, finally getting up from the stage floor. as they slowed raised themselves up, kaleina & moonsun placed their heads on L.I.’s shoulders, allowing her to cradle them softly with her hands.

L.I.’s last line finally came around, & the girl briefly put her arms down before throwing them back up again, and - you guessed it - with wrists crossed. the 3 girls moved their hips in perfect sync, not only with each other, but with the words that L.I. was singing. at the eldest’s final word, they thrusted their arms down, & aeri had also returned. the 4 girls formed a circle and switched positions, allowing moonsun to take center for the pre-chorus. her youthful voice hit the high notes perfectly, surely giving the crowd chills. as moonsun sang her first line, the 4 raised their arms, their hands in a prayer formation. their hands all met in the middle before they put them down again, the move slow and smooth. as the girls slowly lowered their arms, their hands were in a visually pleasing formation, one hand hovering above the other. towards the end of moonsun’s line, L.I., aeri, & kaleina all did a rather cool move.

the 3 girls followed moonsun’s words, quickly raising one of their arms & letting them meet in the middle behind the black-haired maknae. when moonsun sang her final word, the 3 had their arms around her, seemingly hugging her. L.I. and kaleina were at her sides, while aeri was hugging her shoulders from the back. kaleina took the second half of the pre-chorus, & the girls had broken the circle they were forming, getting into a line instead. kaleina was the second to last in the line, right next to aeri, and her live vocals had the crowd even more entranced. the girls had done a type of wave move, starting with L.I. she thrusted an arm down, & the others followed with a second’s delay. the wave ended with aeri, and the girls trailed their arms across their bodies shortly after.

the 4 idols quickly turned around as the music picked up speed, getting closer & closer towards the hard hitting chorus. the girls repeated their “arm wave” move from earlier, but it was faster this time and it started with aeri. another wave move started shortly after, with the girls crossing one arm over each other’s chests, forming a line that couldn’t be seen. the girls turned around when kaleina sang her last line & the pre-chorus stopped, slowly thrusting their arms down. just before the chorus could hit, the girls stopped moving their arms, their hands stopping right in front of their faces. they were seemingly using their palms as a mirror, which tied into their overall theme. anticipation was building up for the audience & the viewers, and as the girls finally put their arms down and got into position for the chorus, their background dancers filled up the back of the stage, dressed head to toe in black.

the girls snapped their heads up, their eyes going straight to the camera. and then, it hit. the best dropped, & the girls of KRUSH and their background dancers went all out. the girls started with their arms in a broken T position, their arms tilted to the left. they then tilted them to the right rather quickly, before smoothly throwing their arms out, forming a perfectly straight line. the girls threw their arms back a little & stepped back a bit, turning around as they did so. the whole time, KRUSH’s dancers followed their movements, syncing perfectly with not only the girls of KRUSH but also with each other, adding to the performance. the 4 idols had their hands behind their backs for a second before thrusting an arm out. they slowly let it fall back down, but they stopped halfway once they dragged their other arm forwards. the girls stepped forwards a bit, bent their knees slightly, & hunched their bodies over with their arms (wrists crossed like always) in front of them.

the 4 girls immediately got back up, throwing their arms behind them as if they were emerging from something. the girls stepped back, making their way back towards the center of the stage, before placing their hands near kaleina’s chest like before. it wasn’t long until they thrusted their arms out again, placing their palms in front of their faces like a makeshift mirror. their background dancers followed that move, as well, still in perfect sync. the girls of KRUSH quickly crossed their arms over their knees, bending down slightly. the move was certainly quick, but it was as smooth as the rest. the girls raised their arms, clapping in tune with the beat. that clap echoed throughout the area, & it was surely pleasing to the ears of the crowd.

the 4 thrusted their arms out once again, switching the angle with fast paced movements. the girls stuck a leg out, bent over, & touched their black boots with the tips of their fingers. it was quick and smooth, and seemed like it took no effort at all. shortly after, the girls got back up, thrusting one of their arms out once again. they pressed their palms together, forming yet another prayer formation. the girls slowly raised their arms, still keeping their palms pressed together, before snapping their arms outwards. they did another “ballerina position,” before slightly bending their knees yet again. they had their arms in front of them, but weren’t fully hunched over like before. soon enough, the 4 girls got up, executing a smooth body wave. the girls of KRUSH did yet another “ballerina position,” but this time they had tilted their bodies from side to side. it was quick & smooth, just like every other move in the dance.

they stood upright again, their arms held outwards for just a few seconds. as the 1st chorus came to an end, the girls placed their hands near kaleina’s chest yet again, before thrusting their arms out softly, their palms stopping in front of their faces like a mirror. the background dancers copied that last move, before thrusting one of their arms out & walking smoothly off the stage. KRUSH was left on stage, and the 4 girls switched positions and formed another circle, giving aeri center once again. L.I. and moonsun were trailing both of their hands up aeri’s body as she sang, and after they reached her shoulders, the 2 girls thrusted their arms out. as aeri continued with her lines, moonsun rushed to stand next to L.I., as what they were going to do next would shock everyone watching.

with her arms slung around L.I. & moonsun’s shoulders, aeri jumped onto their arms, allowing them to carry her thin frame. that did have the crowd shocked, their cheers immediately spiking in volume. the unnie and maknae of KRUSH slowly walked forward as they carried aeri, & the short-haired girl gracefully raised her arm, keeping her vocals stable the whole time. before her verse could end, aeri looked towards the camera, a small smile on her face. that look she gave would have anyone falling in love in an instant. L.I. and moonsun finally put aeri down, & her and L.I. switched positions, allowing KRUSH’s oldest to take center for a moment. her mature, airy voice rang out perfectly as she sang a short line, reaching her hand out and towards the camera.

in a split second, the girls moved over, making way for kaleina. the leader of KRUSH hit the crowd hard with her rap, & the girl was dripping sass as she strutted forwards. she seemingly dragged aeri and L.I. towards her, before quickly trailing her hands across her body. the group’s vocalists placed their hands around kaleina before she had to bend over, allowing moonsun to set her arms on her back. the maknae said a short line, winking at the camera before kaleina stood back up. kaleina, L.I., & aeri all pressed their palms together, slowly raising their arms. they then knelt down, making way for moonsun. KRUSH’s maknae started her rap verse, getting up from her kneeling position in contrast to the other members.

moonsun walked in front of kaleina, & the girls did a level move soon after. aeri and L.I. got up first, followed by kaleina who was behind moonsun. the girls threw their arms up, forming a momentary pyramid before slowly dragging their arms back down. the girls switched positions & formed a circle yet again, with L.I. taking center. the girl sang the whole pre-chorus on her own, gracing the viewers with her vocals. following the beat, the girls tapped their bodies with their hands before placing their palms in front of them, seemingly staring into a mirror. they raised their arms slowly, letting their fingers meet in the middle of the circle before they put their arms down again, their hands in the same pretty formation from before.

the 4 girls broke the circle & formed a line, still allowing L.I. the center spot. the other members trailed their hands up L.I.’s body as the pre-chorus picked up speed, before - like always - thrusting their arms out. the girls turned around rather quickly, & as the build up to the chorus got faster, they repeated that same “wave” move from the 1st pre-chorus. the 4 had their palms in front of their faces once again when the 2nd pre-chorus came to an end, and there was momentary silence in the air as the girls got into position & their background dancers made their way onto the stage again. the chorus hit again, and KRUSH and their dancers repeated the dance from before. the only thing that was different was the break in between the chorus. instead of the girls doing the “mirror” move & the dancers following, the dancers paused and the members made way for kaleina, who did a smooth front walkover towards the front of the stage. what made it better is that she did it with just one hand.

the audience was shocked for the 2nd time that day, their cheers increasing yet again. the girls and their dancers clapped after kaleina’s awe-inducing move, letting another pleasing sound echo throughout the area. they continued the dance from before, their sync not even faltering slightly. soon enough, the bridge had arrived. instead of the dancers leaving the stage, they simply turned around. aeri sung the beginning, trailing her hands up her body before throwing her arms up & out. kaleina and moonsun threw theirs outwards, before the 3 girls got on their knees, bent over, and slid smoothly across the stage floor. L.I. had taken the next line, raising her arms before placing them across her chest. she closed her brown eyes as she did so, making her look all the more ethereal.

kaleina had the 2nd to last line of the bridge, and as she sang, she got up from the floor & stood in between aeri and L.I., who were now kneeling and facing each other. as kaleina’s line ended, the vocalists trailed their hands up kaleina’s body before KRUSH’s leader thrusted her arms out, L.I. and aeri following by just thrusting out a single arm. the 3 knelt down to make way for moonsun, who ended the bridge perfectly. before the bridge could fully end, though, kaleina, aeri, & L.I. got back up, quickly forming a line. the background dancers turned back around, and that’s when the final chorus hit.

the girls did the “palm mirror” move before putting their arms in front of their bodies, holding their hands together. the 4 idols were facing each other, with each pair facing a certain direction. they thrusted their arms out once again, but instead of letting them fall, they followed the beat of the song, slightly raising one leg, as well. like always, KRUSH’s dancers followed. their dancers came closer, following the girls’ lead & slowly thrusting their arms outwards, the levels making the dance look visually appealing. shortly after, they all slowly put their arms down, & the dancers stepped back a bit. they all repeated the moves from the 2nd part of the chorus, and as the song came to its end, the girls had paused their movements. their background dancers walked off the stage, allowing the final spotlight to be put on the girls of KRUSH. in the last few seconds of the song, the 4 girls placed their palms near kaleina’s chest, before thrusting their arms out one last time & letting their palms rest in front of their faces.

the girls looked towards the camera after the song had ended, their facial expressions screaming “ethereal.” the falling golden sparkles only made it better, & it added to the angelic look of it all. GGBs erupted into cheers yet again, sounding the loudest they’ve ever been, and that had the girls’ hearts soaring. they all felt that internal happiness, knowing that their 2nd and most anticipated comeback was certainly better than the last.

the camera focused on L.I., who was breathing rather heavily. she didn’t let that affect her, though, as the girl let the biggest smile spread across her face, giving the performance its classic finishing touch.

happy birthday, chanhee !! - VLIVE pt. 2

august 16th, 2020 —

there was a sudden knock at chanhee’s room door, which made her turn away from the camera. “who’s there ?” the girl questioned as she got up from her seat. it wasn’t visible, but before chanhee could even get a hold of her doorknob, her door had already been opened by none other than the other members of KRUSH. “happy birthday to you !” they yelled, causing chanhee to yelp in slight surprise. that yelp turned into a laugh, though as she walked back into the camera’s frame, kaleina, moonsun, & aeri following close behind.

“happy birthday to you !” the three continued singing, causing the brightest smile to appear on chanhee’s face. “happy birthday dear unnie ! happy birthday to you !” chanhee couldn’t stop her ecstatic laughter after hearing the girls sing. “ah, thank you.” she simply said before closing her eyes, clasping her hands together, & making a wish. like kaleina’s, no one would probably ever know what it was, but you could take a pretty good guess. finally, KRUSH’s oldest blew out her candles, and her dongsaengs burst into applause. “you guys are incredible. really.” chanhee said before turning to look back at the camera.

“they’re here, everyone !” the birthday girl exclaimed. “i’m not alone anymore !” chanhee’s words made the 3 younger girls burst into laughter. chanhee skimmed through the comments, which were all filled with greetings to the other members & the occasional birthday message. “look at that. GGBs are saying hi.” immediately after the girl said that, the other members of KRUSH rushed to greet their fans back. “hi GGBs !” aeri exclaimed with a smile. “did you wish chan-unnie a happy birthday ?” chanhee answered for the fans, humming in response. “they did.” she said. “don’t worry.”

moonsun was the next to greet GGBs, sticking her hand high in the air. “hello !” she enthusiastically yelled, making both chanhee & aeri laugh with endearment. kaleina set the white, chocolate-covered cake onto chanhee’s table, which further ensured that KRUSH’s leader didn’t drop it. “hi everyone !” she exclaimed, waving with both of her hands. the girl immediately went in for a hug with chanhee, making the group’s oldest smile. “it’s unnie’s birthday !” kaleina’s words made chanhee laugh yet again, but soon after, the birthday girl was prying kaleina’s arms off of her torso.

“okay,” chanhee suddenly said. “let me sit down, leina.” kaleina did just that, & chanhee returned to her spot in her chair. “is there a fork anywhere ?” chanhee asked, admiring the cake that was in front of her. “this looks really good.” while aeri rushed off to get one, chanhee was still staring her cake down, and the girl accidentally stuck her finger into one of the many white roses on top of it, which resulted in her making quite a noticeable dent in the fake flower. “ah, this is frosting ?!” chanhee exclaimed, clearly surprised.

the birthday girl caught attention with that sudden outburst, with kaleina looking away from aeri & towards the cake. “ah, ye-“ kaleina couldn’t even finish her answer, as she cut herself off with a rather loud laugh. “unnie, you dented the thing !” KRUSH’s leader said, only laughing harder. moonsun soon caught on, and she had started laughing, as well. chanhee furrowed her eyebrows, the girl clearly upset, but it was obvious she wanted to laugh with her dongsaengs. “it was an accident !” chanhee exclaimed, her jeolla accent slipping into her words for the 2nd time that day. “what happened ?” aeri questioned, although the short-haired girl was out of the frame. “chanhee-unnie dented her cake !” moonsun answered, making sure to yell as loud as possible. chanhee reached over, trying to cover the maknae’s mouth, but all moonsun did was resist. that certainly had kaleina laughing even harder.

you could hear aeri sigh, & not only did that have KRUSH’s maknae line laughing all over again, but that had the chat laughing, as well, it filling up with laughing-crying emojis and ‘ㅋ’ characters. aeri walked back into the camera’s view, carrying the plastic fork she had said she’d get. “we haven’t even cut the cake & chan-unnie’s already damaged it.” the korean-japanese girl said, a mock tone of disappointment lacing her words. “yah ! it was a mistake.” chanhee stated. “even your unnie makes mistakes, alright ?” the others hummed in response, finally showing chanhee just the slightest bit of respect.

chanhee finally took the plastic utensil from aeri, ripped open its plastic packaging, & dug straight into her cake. she stuffed a portion of the fluffy, vanilla-flavored dessert into her mouth and instantly let out a sound of satisfaction. “ah !” chanhee exclaimed, her brown eyes practically holding the galaxy at this point. “this is delicious ! really !” kaleina, being the foodie that she is, wanted to get a taste of the cake that chanhee was busy raving about, so she stuck her finger into the frosting... despite being the one to call out chanhee on the same thing just moments prior. the birthday girl was just about to start talking again until she saw KRUSH’s leader do that.

“yah, funny how you do the same thing that you were busy exposing me for.” chanhee half-joked, her voice dropping an octave. kaleina froze, and with her finger still in her mouth, she giggled nervously in response. chanhee turned the cake around, & GGBs had a full view of the two holes engraved into the cake’s later of frosting. “look at that.” KRUSH’s oldest said, pointing to the significantly larger dent next to her smaller one. “kaleina did that.” meanwhile, moonsun had pointed to kaleina’s rather dumb expression, and both her and aeri were bursting into silent laughter at it. kaleina noticed, & she pulled her finger out of her mouth, mouthing ‘stop !’ the girl would’ve screamed it if she could.

chanhee had sighed & turned the cake back around, sticking her fork in it yet again. “anyways,” she finally said, catching the other members’ attention. “did you get anything for me ?” the girls stayed silent, not even bothering to answer, and aeri even left to go get more forks. chanhee turned around, confused as to why everyone was being so silent after that giggle fest just seconds earlier. “are you going to answer the question ?” KRUSH’s eldest asked. moonsun did decide to answer the question, saying, “we got you cake.” chanhee hummed, taking another chunk from the pastry. “true.” she responded. “but who bought the cake ?” at that moment, aeri re-entered the frame, handing out forks to kaleina & moonsun. “i did.” she answered.

“i was the one who picked it out, though !” moonsun suddenly exclaimed, attempting to save herself from a scolding. that attempt was successful, as chanhee accepted the maknae’s answer, but she immediately made kaleina her target. “leina ?” the 23-year-old said. the girl in question was in the midst of taking a piece of cake, but she froze in her tracks & hummed in response. immediately, aeri and moonsun burst into laughter. “why do you keep freezing ?!” aeri exclaimed. kaleina was pretty much oblivious as she stuck her piece of cake in her mouth, only responding with a simple ‘what ?’ needless to say, that only made aeri and moonsun laugh harder. chanhee fought the urge to roll her eyes & instead stared kaleina down as she repeated her question. “did you get anything for me ?” she asked.

“i order two bottles of champagne for us.” kaleina answered. chanhee tried to fight the smile that was threatening to appear on her face, as the birthday girl found the situation quite amusing. “i’ll accept that.” the oldest said, making kaleina let out a half laugh. momentary silence passed over the girls of KRUSH, & suddenly, kaleina, aeri, and chanhee’s heads all turned to their maknae. moonsun looked back at them, and the silence went on until kaleina decided to break it. “sorry, moonie.” KRUSH’s leader said.

moonsun looked away from her unnies & towards the camera, seemingly sending a silent message to GGBs of ‘look at what i go through.’ the maknae let out a heavy sigh, resorting to crouching down on the floor in mock sadness. that caused the rest of the members to laugh harder than ever, so hard to the point where kaleina almost toppled over.

all in all, chanhee’s 23rd birthday really was a special one. she spent it with the girls she cherished the most and with the fans she appreciated the most, & it was filled with laughs, cake, and of course, champagne. while the world was still going through unfortunate situation after unfortunate situation, the girls of KRUSH really knew how to make the most out of it.
